I love it look at that star all right good evening ladies and gentlemen we are here tonight East Long Meadow Massachusetts and we've got ourselves a little bit of a chilly night here for the cross town matchup between the Long Meadow lancers and the East Low Spartans this is looking for to a great match we've got pink out night here for the East Long Meadow Spartans fans are here all in awareness of breast cancer month and this is the day you'll see the East medal coaches and the pink uniforms the trainer out there in a pink shirt and the easta metal boy Barton team for the first time all year wearing a different top all in support of Breast Cancer month and awareness looking forward to good matchup tonight in the booth with me for
the first time is Field Hockey Star East Long Meadow senior Talia Weiss welcome to the booth for your first elcat appearance thank you Jeff I'm excited to be here for this boy soccer game tonight that's supposed to be a really good matchup so I'm get excited to watch it yeah it should be good I mean it's always a battle whenever East Long Meadow plays long meow it doesn't matter what it is it could be chess Checkers tidle Winks video games across town doesn't matter but when you get out onto the pitch it gets even testier and here we go right off the start they try to get the ball right through up there to press shakes head a little bit it's going to be a little difficult tonight to identify the players though because the
numbers on the back of the East LA Meadow jerseys are not as distinguished as they normally are and we haven't called a ton of games so uh I'll probably leave it a little bit up to you to call the players out if you because you know them by look by height by Style by Hair by body type so you'll be able to identify them here comes low trying to make it way out quick penalty right there referees wearing neon green out there tonight easy to identify we got all the lights working here thank you to the DPW had a couple of issues early on not as the result of the DPW they've just fixed them so it's a good thing and we're off quick throw in there by Long Meadow who's got it right there
Joe PR prel over two Joe we got molan number 17 on the sidelines good touch there that's looks like it's number number eight Jack Walsh another through ball hover there's prel he takes it he's going to move it he twisting he's moving he beautiful through ball there and a spy shot close save short side good opportunity there fans are cheing what you think of that Talia I thought it was good rip a really good shot he didn't have much time but he got it off fast and it was a good opportunity I think it'll kick him off for the rest of the game almost a concussion Collision there in the middle SLO trying to gain control of the ball there in the middle of the field and just attacking right down the middle colan again
gets a touch plays It Wide to Samir Khan here Mogan got it lays it up to to it's going to be it's going to be a swinger here and he swings it oh God I don't know what' you think of that Talia I thought it was a good give and go down the field definitely a good transition didn't have much complications but I think the shots got to be stronger and it's got to be a pass or definitely to a quter in the goalie yeah I think that wasue kind of went right to the goalie save off good good opportunity really wanted need to get AC cross in there yeah oh good defense there really good defense there that was going to be a great opportunity for long long trying to get out in transition
they power through it little flare right there so number 12 has it that's Luca baressi number 10 has it now that's Alexander Hench nice play there through the legs and see there's a good one there right kind of oh he let it oh that's not but yeah under his he was letting it go through actually to the other player but then the East medal player didn't kind of clear it out right there moved it to the oh that's a fire a blistering shot just wide good opportunity for Long Meadow what do you think so far Talia we've got you know it's only about five minutes that have been played but so far at least one good opportunity for each team yeah I mean it's only been five minutes and I feel like the ball's almost
always been on out his offensive end definitely hammering some shots and getting some good opportunities so as long as we can keep it up and just keep the ball on that half of the field I think we can do really well good head ball there 10 it just gets boomed out of bound we don't have very B we don't have many ball people on the sidelines tonight but I do see a nice young East Long meal down there who is volunteering her time to help keep the game moving along at a good Pace in the corner and she gets to watch both of her older brothers who are both on the team oh I didn't know that who is it down there who's the ball girl the rins her name's Kaitlin all right yeah Tyler
Tyler's had a Tyler's had a great season I've watched him from up here a couple games that I called clearly he can be a dominant player at any given moment yeah for sure and his brother's just a freshman so he's just getting started and he has some great talent too yeah I mean if you made varsity as a if you made varsity as a freshman you know that you know coach sarapo sees something in you long term he certainly didn't make it merely because his brother was also on the team I can tell you that oh there's a good ball there as we change Fields 5050 he descend it wide we've got to cut through those balls especially when it's from so far away you have so much time to react we could make half
these theate Chris 50 they go by no because he's gonna long oh good try there by I believe prel looks like at least early on they've kind of put presno in the middle of the field to kind of open up try to help him open up some space good play there this one see if we can maintain possession it's just not one that I like there they're going to try to chase it down but it's probably just is going to get try to get no I'm surprised he didn't Shield that one I think it would have been long Meadow's ball so I think he should have just boxed him out and let it go out of bounds but maybe the player wasn't aw so yeah helps East meow to maintain a possession here off sides
Paul after the throw in it was off sides needed to move back that one's going over the top there good soft touch by paty been having just a stellar season back there on defense has really just been dominant although this is dangerous here just kind of makes its way through that's just across the goal like that I mean it went two Defenders right in the goal and if L had been in perfect positioning that probably would have been a goal yeah you can see Kyle Conor out there he's five right there that took that shot he got a lot of power on that not a not a big player but clearly a skilled player very quick very fast Good Foot Skills and was really able to create some space there for his own shot this
one's just kind of bombed up and probably going to make its way to the go little dangerous play there but they're going to try to chase it down oh this is dangerous here so much more space there for Tyler WR kind of stole that ball and then just blasted it right to the goal he take that space I think what do you think Talia I agree he should have taken the space he also had someone there running with him so if he ended up getting too close to the defender he could have just slipped it to the other who was up there with him which would have been a better option than taking a shot from oh that's a big throw in there goalie's GNA grab that one that was an impressive throw really long
I mean it's almost as good as a corner kick right there to get it that far yeah that was very [Music] impressive not sure who that is over there I know that usually it's out of all of are yeah see that one there I like heated himself made a good shot goalie had to kind of Pi up bouncer rushing in if goalie doesn't catch that cleanly there's going to be an opportunity yeah and you could see he kind of faked the shot a few times to throw the defender off and the goalie I thought that was a good opportunity and a good shot to take tough positioning there I think that was mle I can't tell it look like M get defending 5050 like seven for long meow is GNA try to get this one
arrive wait yeah well yeah we'll wait about minut coli kind of plops it down the side [Music] there I think that was a right idea but it kind of got away from him there just a lighter touch next time yeah good play there by smar chase down back to Samir again samir's got it not sure about that play there I guess that's probably why he plays defense I mean he had that other opportunity down the sidelines too just like here not sure about that one either just not really I don't think you know it's a good play he's in good position to get there but he's got to look up think before you kick it yeah and I think he's got more space to at least take a dribble or two until maybe a teammate
is open instead of just going right to the other team yeah try to get that thing a little bit more in the box or if you're gonna pass it you know kind of keep that one on the ground but he's having a good game so far in terms of making runs and overlapping down that right hand side he's getting some opportunities I'd like to see if that you know that keeps up in he can get that ball a little closer to the 18 yd line maybe a little something in the air with these L guys can go fight for it get another get a better chance throw in here back it's kind of getting flipped around not really sure I didn't really get a chance to look Talia to see sort of Long Meadow season
but how do you think uh do you know how they've been doing this year long meow boys I mean I'm not 100% sure but I know they definitely a strong program they've always been a strong program I don't know how many seniors they graduated but I know that their defense has been very strong this year I don't really know about goal scorers but I definitely know it's been a strong program yeah I mean they're traditionally very strong so it wouldn't surprise me if they're having a great year I just haven't had a chance to kind of look them up and see sort of how they're doing this year this one gets played up it gets touched back there's some space here boy opportunity coming trying to make oh this is just delicious oh my goodness
gracious right there in front he is going to be beside himself that he didn't Jam that one in the net talo what do you have to say about that I think he had a great opportunity he made it pass at least three Defenders and I think if he just placed the shot to a corner it would have been a picture perfect goal I mean absolutely amazing footwork to get through three long meow Defenders with such great touches and then you saw when the ball was saved he ended up on the back of the track field he wanted jump on that mat put his head in it and then but he's back he's going to have to come back he had an opportunity last game and I think he let it get to him a little
bit when it didn't go in early so we'll see but some great footwork there by presno it's like our other co- announcer Megan morno has joined the booth Megan would you like an opportunity to co-host with your good friend and teammate BFF tal white so I'm gonna put Megan on hello esa's gonna have the ball around the 30 and Pat's gonna be taking their kick he shoots the ball into the 10 and the goalie receives it before anyone is able to get a touch on it but it was a great ball from the 30 that's an incredible kick from Long Meadow oh Shane Smith intercepts out of bounds long B's throw in before was really strong it almost looked like a corner kick so I'm expecting that again and he shoots it right into the
no noan saves it yeah Nolan there's a great opportunity for long but nobody capitalized before the goalie was able to save the shot oh prestle has it oh he's on the go to the middle outside left to go through oh perfect it should have shot it it was a great opportunity it was a little bit further back instead of straight on would have been perfect oh Tyler has it great DOD that's got to be a call this Inc the [Music] only looks like's gonna take it I bet you he's gonna shoot it what do you think he's gonna do I think this is the ref going over probably oh I've I've never seen this night yeah that's that's a hard angle to shoot no nowhere to really go besides the wall or the [Music] Go
pass the out wide outside back oh it's it's not it's out of bounds he thought he it but he did um can't really see the numbers here so that looks like Chase Evans is going toow not's got it right in the middle SP inter should have made the solid yeah it looks cool still got it interf great the to get it out just didn't capitalize on it [Applause] it looks like yeses like P's gonna be taking it a little short little low I believe that's oliv very who got it oh is down open oh great shot about approximately when he gets it on a good about 6 almost some good footwork there on great ball from Long Meadow he keeps it in oh great slide tackle don't forget to get your 50-50 raffle tickets the
girls are coming around now we'll be drawing it at halftime not too sure about the outside ones I believe it's and Al but I'm not sure who other Center back is I believe Jackson gret had started the game I'm not I wonder where Shane went Shane starting last I don't see him on the sidelines so he must be on thei oh great opportunity oh God here it's cold [Music] I'm oh that's gonna be short stuff yeah man bet run all day long Andrew the midle tri to pass it off doesn't quite get [Music] it number three [Applause] down how you play that man just up guys are did a nice switch that's a ball that's the ball us back and for oh got it is on the Run straight to his right back oh man
I'm [Music] lucky looks like Andrew and I Jack Walsh has got it great ball to Pres they small in there pretty they don't [Music] have oh that was close the middle the middle little far [Music] probably oh backwards header I haven't seen that one in a long time oh he he's got number not giv up oh he's going pass it wi yes that is perfect picture situation oh he fell for it to the middle a little far back a player would there even there [Applause] there big kick from but it's getting colder too know we're we're still watching in games they have those automatic things fallowing it it follows the ball you got kids playing with the ball like this it stays on the K and plays down [Music] there got it a good move
not a very good shot but that's probably better for [Applause] us [Music] oh there mdle [Applause] not feel to yeah I think he was bending down try to get that is definitely gonna caion between probably gonna make aot theame against prom about in every sport pretty pushy just because of the Rivalry great back touch got it side fancy footwork oh takes the cross he got almost a better foot on it would have been a perfect shot yeah those are the plays that we really need to capitalize on ESP is GNA throw perfect like that right in Fr the that was a missile it should have this thing aot autoa a the they got it right here how do they do the title The what scoreboard I think maybe somebody there does it but usually they
never put it in I don't know I look at the what they do is they want you to buy a month I'm does it zoom in on it too so it automatic keep it at certain C Zoom it that's it couldn't get it out but it's okay it's off so it's still going to be our ball our defense is done a great job at using the you watching it see that was her what's his score all right that was beautiful all right go in ch go for I want to know the score I didn't know you were on it I I want to know the score yeah all right we got that's a good one lock [Music] up it definely got [Applause] it [Music] that was a good was so much you know he said
