through that. Just use your earphones. Ready? Alright, we call this meeting to order. Roll call and reflect that everybody is present. This time please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the fight of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under ***, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. The school district come flamble through partnerships with families in our community will provide a safe environment for academic creative and social learning opportunities that will challenge our students to reach his or her full potential at this time an approval of the agenda will be allowed any discussion not hearing anything all those in favor say aye opposed motion carried board member communications and ideas you talked before about the school buses and I was wondering why
we had at the exact same time there's like four buses of ours at the same time in Shelton and Shelton they all split different ways or why are they all four go that same time? You're talking like just returning kids off the night in a row? Well, I see them at night, but I see them in the morning, two picking up. I was like, why do we have buses going through at the same time? I mean, there was four. When I was there was a field trip or something. I mean, that was pick up in the morning. This was like 7 in the morning, 7 and 15 years from the morning. Yeah, because typically we just had one in Sheldon on the west side of the tracks and one on the east side of the
tracks. We were talking about it before, and I was like, why do we have four from here? I don't know what that was then. That was back in May. I mean, we were working over it that way, so I happened to be there at that time. I was like, that's positive for four. You know, like our environmental cleanup day or whatever. I know there was a bunch of groups in Sheldon doing stuff. At 7.15 in the morning? Yes. No. You know, I don't think Steph would mind the question about that. I can ask for that. Have a discussion. Do you know about when in May, though? First park? Oh, it would have been parked towards the end. And they had just picked up the kids. The one bus just picked up the kids in town.
And the other bus, one was coming out towards, going to head towards there on Spur. Coming out of town heading towards Spur. That's the only two that should be there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a good question. A couple comments people said about the grounds or something like that. They did a nice job on the concession. Yeah, yeah. Is that the concessions handle? We did it for football. So I had a member of the Lions Club approach me recently when they came to the building for a meeting. The reception was very cold and very rude. They were very disappointed at how cold and rude they were met by one of the secretaries who rolled their eyes at them, found it kind of like she didn't want to take them to where they were supposed to go
for their meeting. It was kind of like an inconvenience. The member of the Lions Club told me the reception at Ladysmith was warm and welcoming, and they were so happy, and this was a scheduled meeting, by the way, this was not an impromptu drop-in, and the reception they met here was horrible. Then they came and met for their scholarship meeting, and that also was, even though it was a planned meeting, an inconvenience, and all they wanted to do was award money. so i was really disappointed to hear that about our school that's not really the perception i thought we want to give out i have more details but i really don't want to share it right now but it was very um very concerning to have that kind of report especially from a group so
well known as the latest appliance code. And certainly we've prided ourselves on reading the antithesis of that. Well, let me know. Send me an email with some details. Good? Good. We did that one o'clock this year rather than do it in the afternoon and it went really well. Parents keep really enjoying it. Everybody's here, got to take their kids home afterwards. We want to wish our high school seniors good luck in
their future endeavors. And the middle schoolers, we'll see you next year. Also wanted to recognize Karma Burdigan and Ricky Moravik on their retirements. You know, Carmen's been a cornerstone here for 30-plus years at Flamble. She knew it was time, so she's getting the second generation sound in the classroom. She's definitely left her mark here. Ricky has not been here as long, you know, just four years, but she brought a lot of expertise and energy to our chemistry and physics program. We're going to deeply miss both of their experience here at Flamble, for sure. And then on the athletic front, we had a very successful spring sports season, track team had a stellar season, they sent four kicks to state, Kyle Blackstock placed eighth in Reese Rayle, and third place in the shot put in golf,
we had an individual jojo undershift to advance all the way to the sectional meet, their softball team had a phenomenal cool season run, making it to the regional final, they lost to Mellon, but it's a very good game, high scoring game. And then the baseball team wrapped up a hard-fought season and all the way we went to regional semifinals. We just went with City, wrapped up their season there. But it was fun to congratulate all those teams. And then as the summer continues here, got to start focusing, turning the page on our upcoming school year. Kind of finished building out our staff. And we're looking for a face teacher currently. We've got some leads there. And working on finalizing our master's schedule and updating some policies and stuff as the summer goes on. Well, just
to piggyback off that, and maybe you all know that Chad had a fairly good track season himself. Race with Girls took first at stake, so congratulations to Chad. Thank you. As a former bus rider, student, athlete around here, it made me proud, and I wish I had some we'll film to share with them but no I can share that I think that we've been fortunate enough here to win other state titles but I think those those track titles are few and far between because you're going up against everybody's best so So I wish you great things in the future and hope you win one here. That would make it even better. I know, I think that's a great accomplishment, Chad. All right, building grounds. I think we've got a little new things going on there.
Well, Jamie has his report. I guess you can see that. We've got a lot going on this summer, building the grounds. I'm mainly right now working on the air handlers for the two gyms, putting those on the roof. And so that's quite a project. If you're driving by and see a big old crane out here, there'll be one Monday. So just got a lot going on. I just found out today, you know, we were having some trouble with the in-floor heat there in that long hallway that goes between the middle school and high school. and they found out that there is no leak. I thought that maybe it was leaking, and that's why it's been shut down, so there's no leak. So it looks like that's going to save us a lot of money. And
so they're hoping that they're going to kind of get it all set up, and then this fall, you know, when we start turning the heat on, they'll have somebody here to make sure everything is open. So that's going to save us some time as well, because now we can start working for it. I did get a call yesterday from the Playground company, the plan was for them to come in mid-July. He said, we're going to be there Monday. So, the thing of it is, remember we were going to tear all the old stuff out, and I was planning and I'm doing that after summer school. I know that we need to do that tomorrow. Well, I guess, you know, you and I talked about that. What exactly is this the need? Well, so I think
we just need to, you know, talking to Scott, you know, Scott from SiteLogia, he said get a sawzall and cut all those posts off. I mean, grab a chain, all the skid steering, and pop all those posts out of the ground, and put everything out of the way. Well, I guess that was my first thing, was kids here get them out. He seemed to think so. I mean, I don't know. I have no idea. I mean, again, I'm sure they offer our equipment, and I just kind of want to know what to bring, because I've found stuff in the ground comes out a lot of pretty thick. Yeah, and who knows how deep those go with them. I know they're cemented in. Well, with all this rain, I would just take a bucket tractor and
chain it. Just try to lift them up. I'd just pull them up, then post out. I would saw them off, but then I would chain that chain around. I'm a post person. But that seems to be the way. You seem to think if you pushed, maybe back and forth a little bit. Sure. Well, John usually hooks that post and rips it. I guess the rain might help, the rain will help, and the rain has now given me some time. Got something you want to start on tomorrow? Yes. I'll be here. What time do you wake up? Okay. If you hear the flutter coming in, we'll just do some of that. Sounds good. I'll get a so I'll change is it wood? are they wood? metal or wood? oh that's different and I wouldn't get too
ambitious about that I might be able to use the towels to pair with and I find close to the apartment and attached to Clevis and hold it out back. Well, so I think there's an eight wheeler over here. I know we'll pull them out, but we'll get the mess. But yeah, we'll pull out in the morning. We'll start. Probably rust it off. Sounds good. Well, you know, it could be. Does the grounds, like, so does Jeff Zimmer for mowing the grounds? Does he report under Jake? Jake. Yeah. I was just curious. I know he was a little behind and concerned early, but it looks like he's caught up pretty much. Yeah, he's caught up, and then, of course, with the weather. It's going to be a mess here for a while. I'm very upset when
I read that report about the leaking caused by that company, and I want to know what repercussions would take place. yeah the thing that right now the only thing that really happened was we lost some ceiling time you know the carpet got a little wet they should pay for the time it took for our staff to pick and clean and replace the tile that's their responsibility and far as I can be sure yeah and they should we should be in reimburse for that class to the school I think that again goes back to I mean I'm sorry hey you know four years ago first set in my first buildings and ground you know that was a discussion that Doug he was concerned about anytime you start messing with these ropes in Wisconsin especially a flat
leaking is that's why we were so against any new holes being put in but you know they're you know maybe maybe explain to the public what happened because they should know it's their school and i'm just frustrated over it because i'm sick of these big companies charging a arm and a leg and then having shoddy workmanship and it sounds like nothing that matters but i think some of this crew is putting it in might have been here on the first one certainly only everything I talked to a couple of them they charge a pretty penny and they provide very professional services that don't possibly I just it's very upsetting to me and I know stuff happens, but I'm tired of Freddie work. So where was the leak at? It was in the elementary library. But
it said hallway. Here, just outside this door. Yeah, because I know that. Middle school was always a problem there for a while. Even right in here, it was a problem. Anybody else? Who are? All right, now you're... Okay. Okay. So a couple of mandates that have come down from the state that we're working on this summer. So Act 57 mandates that schools immediately notify parents or guardians that they receive a credible report alleging specific sexual misconduct by staff or volunteers, provided there's reasonable cause to suspect the conduct occurred. And so I'll let you read the details there, but it just kind of goes through the specific steps that have to be taken along those lines. And, of course, for both of these, we're going to be working on that this summer with our state associations.
They're going to give us some guidance and some training, of course, involving those. Act 89 mandates that all public, private, and independent charter schools in the state adopt formal policies on appropriate communication between employees and students and requires annual training on preventing and identifying grooming and professional boundary violations. So there's a communications policy that we're going to have to take a look at. I've got an appointment next week with our Neola representative, when we're going to go over their recommendations for the policy changes so that'll be next month we'll have the first reading for that and then we'll have to have our our second reading in august because that has to be in place by second first and will policy committee be a part of that yes policy and i'm going to meet with him
next next week and then we'll set up a meeting with the policy committee do you know yet you're the official communication platform or are you still No, I have a meeting, I'm working on getting a meeting set up with ParentSquare, as I was talking with Jason and Steve Beckman. So we're going to get that set up hopefully here in the next couple of weeks. And then of course there's employee training that will happen in August when we come back for our in-service and the DPI is going to help us out with that type of training. So I'd like to schedule a couple of work sessions in July, I know we talked about this a while ago, but you know there's different things we need to take a look at our handbook, we've got our compensation
model that we talked about there a month or two ago, but our staff and student handbooks, we really need to take a look at those, so there's probably a couple of other things, but if you guys can look at your calendars for July. I think we've got our board meeting is on the 15th, is that correct? So, I don't know if you guys want to stick with Wednesdays for getting together, if that's easier, or it really doesn't matter. If you didn't want to do Wednesdays, we could do like July, well, July 1st, probably not that week. But we could do like the 8th, or the 22nd, or both of those, get together. for an hour or two what's that start yeah let's start with the 8th and kind of let's let's plan on the 22nd
who knows if we're really efficient we get everything done in the 8th who knows till july 8th july 8th and the 22nd yeah what time is six o'clock working I think it works. Having an early affect anybody. I just don't know where I'll be. I might be me. You can't be here right now. I give up. I just like, oh my gosh. We got first cutting up that one. Well, I guess we'll leave it at 6 then. And somebody will have to adjust schedule. But yeah. Yeah. We'd actually get it done in one big day. It would be. I mean, I'll get some, I don't know, some subs or something. I vote for skate rides. Skate rides, absolutely. There were some questions that you guys had asked last month, which, just like this month, and
I jot those down and I'm trying to figure them out. So, you know, just kind of going through some of those because sometimes, you know, I try to anticipate questions, but sometimes I, you know, we get questions that I just don't have the answers to. So, it just takes a little bit to get those. All right. So, just some of the questions. How many students do we have in RVA, a rural virtual academy? So, last year, we started the year with 14 students, and then there was two of them that came back to in-person school, and so we ended the year with 12 students in RVA. and two of them graduated for seniors. What was the invoice cost for 12 students? You may not know that now, just right down to the cost per student.
Those are full-time students. We have kids that took virtual classes from RV that are students here that couldn't get your tutors. Yeah, there's pieces of that, sure. Yeah, that should be broke down in the invoice. Yeah, I'll look at that. How many three-year -old kindergarten students from last year, the year that just ended, are registered for four-year-old kindergarten this fall? Okay, so last year we had 15 students in our three-year-old kindergarten program, and 13 of those are registered for four-year-old kindergarten this fall. So 15, and then 13. Now, and of course there was more that came along with those. yeah how many of those three cares I was curious to know how many of those are actual district residents that possibly would have came here anyways versus how any were? Sure. Okay. I'll look that
up. That's pretty good. I think they are. I want to say that, but I'm not 100% concerned, so I'll look that up. How much money do we get for an open enrolled student was another question. So a regular ed student, this was just this past year, we get $10,102 for a student that open enrolls from another district. One of our own students in the district we get 11,600. We were talking about busing last month so there's a lot of questions on busing so what would our busing cost us if we went with a busing company and so I talked with Bruce the superintendent from Bruce because I think they have some their programs similar to ours they own their own buses so they you know they have a mechanic and things like that that they
have a own bus barn, I guess, kind of we do. So anyway, for Bruce, they are contracted per route per day at $439.02. So per route per day. For us, if we figure in driver wages, benefits, fringe, and estimated cost to operate the bus per day, the most I could come up with is $250. So that's per route per day. So that's quite a difference, and I really haven't had a chance to sit down and talk with Tony about why there's that big of a difference, because it just, that's a lot. You know, you're looking at $189 difference per day, per route. So I'm missing something, but I just don't know what it is. Do they have more than seven buses, maybe? Would that I think they kind of do the same thing that we
do. I mean, they just talked about buying, I think they're going to buy three buses, I think you said. They're buying buses, just like we are. And really, that's kind of the number one I was wearing buses. That's very cool. That gas was pretty considerable. So, I mean, if that, in fact, is the case, and I haven't missed anything, I mean, we're looking at, you know. Are they taking their drivers more? I don't I don't I don't know what figures figure in what are you figuring in well so I mean but they have their own building they own their own buses so that wouldn't be part of it you know Clovison is the bus company that they work with so let me I'm just gonna have to this is ongoing right you know I'm gonna
talk with Tony and see just where that how does it all figure in on that They're in charge of buying their own people just like we're in charge of buying our own. I mean they have to take a lot of money or you give them, they bid out, here's where I'll run this route. And that is their pay of the drivers. So they contract with co -busting then? That's correct. Okay, so then Bruce really doesn't own their own buses, they're contracted with co-busting. No, they just really, all they get through co-busting is the drivers. Oh, okay. So they're paying the contract a fee of the driver, which means that they wouldn't have no health insurance. Yeah, it's really weird that there would be that high. So I don't know. But anyway, we're working on it.
And then the last question as far as buses, we had talked about buying a 50-passenger bus. I think most of our buses are in that 70, 72. We can, but it's crazy. The price is about the same or maybe even a little bit more. on a regular -sized bus, so at least you buy something out of the ordinary that you have to do electric work. Some of those buses have the extra racks and extra under -storage in that tool. Yeah, I mean, it depends on the bus. Yeah, that's all I got. all right office items approval of the monthly student activities yeah and I shared that with you guys and I'm just going to keep adding to that so any time you want to go back and look at that spreadsheet some Some gave a
lot of really good detail, some not as much, but kind of expected that. I did email you a question which you can just respond to. Okay, sounds good. Okay, any other discussion about them? And maybe some other clubs that want to get involved with that as well, because sometimes the FFA members have trouble managing it. Hope has been a big crowd. Right, we're going to get some other clubs involved. and especially is the freezer work in the refrigerator there has been so I read the minutes from the county there was some discussion about some of some of the booths this one yes you may want to visit a meeting for handle hi if I like you for hands that what it's about I can you know yeah I just say I touch base yeah I
know I have been okay yeah Terry and I got a long heart about that with that kind of thing, you know. Yeah, well, it was just something I regret, and I'm like, like, there were some changes to trying to happen to this person. Hopefully they get enough. But we own that building. That's the big thing. So we're so lucky to have that deed. Hopefully they get enough students and help. Yeah, I mean, that's. Last year they had to shut it down. That's everybody's goal, I think. The fair board and us, too. We want that thing to be run. Because that's a money maker. It's a food source. That's correct. That was just my one thing about that. Any other discussions? If there aren't any, all those in favor, signify by saying aye. Aye. Opposed? Motion
carried. Approval of the expenditures and see all the different things, diversity from different points from legal matters to people's personal finance and then the state tells you where you need to code it all Alright, all those in favor, see if I'm saying aye Aye. Opposed? Motion carried Approval of hiring the 2627 Flambeau School discussion we're even going to be able to work on yeah i just don't know that we can right now it's just i was just when i saw all those buses in the same area at the exact same time i was like and here's what i'm saying i do not doubt you saw it but something had to happen. There's only two buses in town. I could really take that to the bank. Unless, unless, I mean, I've seen them. I ain't saying
that's the case, but we've had them run to Farm Fleet with them before. We've had them run to Tony Lumber, lay plywood in them, because they didn't have a truck. I mean, I had some pretty significant things I had to talk to a few girls. I just know we talked about, you know, that could we, could we, you know, do away with it, one. There's no doubt, you're spot on, in my opinion, after doing it for a long time. I was just at the right place, right time, because I don't, you know, it was just that morning we were working over that way, and I was like, I don't know what it was. We have enough kids. Our kids are fit on less buses. The problem gets to be is the geographics of where they're
at. So that time is, I mean, you know, when you figure this district, when I drove in 1982, I think we had 16 routes. Now Sheldon had two of its own, so say 14, just for contrast, Glymph, Laura, and Tony. And to think that is down now to seven. And we've added Hawkins. So, I mean, you know, you don't need... There's less people, but they're still spread out. Yep. And usually with Hawkins addition, we go all the way to that yellow town building there. It's like an eight mile row they can. It's like huge. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I mean, when Amy was running that route basically on her own, she was taking her bus out of the garage at quarter twenty after six in the morning. So, yeah. And then we just kept whittling
at it. How could we do sections so people weren't crossing so that's why I say if there were four buses in shelter and it wasn't directed by a school then there's a problem there was one coming out on which one is it that they just shut the railroad checks up there was one that must go down there and pick somebody up but the other two buses the one bus that picks up in town has already come from their spot and then there was another one in front of him going to the south, so it was like they were all three right in that area and looked like they were picking something up. If you think about it, there's four buses in Sheldon, at least three buses for the rest of the district. It's just what
I'm saying, like, why were they all in the same spot? Yeah, something goofy there, but you do deserve an answer, so somebody will go get you an answer. Roll call. Yes. Yes. No. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. All right. Approval of the hiring of the 26-27-3YK lead teacher. Second. Was there interviews or just an internal transfer? Just internal. She was the only one there. Any questions? Is there still an aid? There isn't right now. We're going to take a look at our numbers and make sure that we have enough. Yeah, if there is one, it'll be later this time. Any questions? Is that something that we posted or no? Well, it was an internal. you know like say we have a fourth grade opening or different openings you know see I'm always confused how that
works as a person that didn't work at the school or anything I always wonder do we should jobs be posted to everyone or should you automatically offer to people that work there first how does that work well that's that's normally the way it's done if you have an opening and you have someone that is certified or willing to become certified and they would like to transfer then we do that and if not then you know that's when we would open that up because it seems kind of like a slippery slope yes sometimes and that's always confused me as a person that wasn't that involved with the working inner workings of a school and i think that is a big question the public has a lot. For me, part of it is the contract says you
can be placed anywhere, anytime. So that opens the door for moving people. It's not just the situation, it's just the general thing that like coaching sometimes. Why don't we, you know, and I'm like, sometimes I think we're missing out on new people because we don't try to get new people. But, you know, it's just the out. If someone transfers from their job to a new one, then that opens up their job. You know what I mean? So, eventually... I think we'd want to keep it where internally that you have the option of when something else comes open that you can go there and then your job's filled from the outside. Right. Yeah. Eventually going to be outside. Because sometimes maybe the best choice isn't your internal person. That is my... But it's not part of
the contract. That's part of the contract. I hate that. That comes down to the administration to know who it is. Well, it's just something I wanted to put there. Oh, I agree. Just because they apply doesn't mean they're going to get it. And I'll tell you what. Back when we had twice as many employees here, internally we all had questions, too, when you come to school one day and hear somebody's going to be your new teacher. Yeah, it's just always was confusing. You know, I mean, somebody was going to be a vet. No, I just mean, yeah, it's, sometimes those movements you just kind of shake your head about, but I think a lot of it is professionally. Some people want to change. You know, I remember I was teaching at junior high forever. I
think there's some teachers that probably should move for a while and then come back. Sometimes a new place isn't bad. But we have that option. That's, you know, that's in the contract. right is it is it a okay so is it an equal position contract well so both of those you mean like this particular one well no just in general so say you do one job and then you take your transfer you know the opportunity goes to move to a different position and maybe, I don't, how do I ask the question I want to ask? You're right, but I do also think that part of the murkiness or unclarity, at least from my standpoint, is, you know, back in the day, we all were certified. And you can only teach in your certification. Yes, that's
where I'm going. But as soon as they've opened this up to this ability to get them and mail order sometimes kind of things yeah it just i mean you know i mean i had a you know i had a one nine degree no matter how bad i wanted to teach high school social studies i was never going to get that job right without going to college and now they can get they can just do tests well there's nobody applying for these jobs yeah that's the problem we just don't applications yeah so if you know somebody you've worked with them for a few years that kind of puts them to the front of the pack I think that's where it if there was more competition yeah you know for instance if there was a certain teacher
position open do you offer to people who actually have the degree first or do you let somebody transfer internally I'm just saying quality might well if it's a if it's a degree position and somebody with a degree whether they're even applying from the outside they you legally cannot give it to a non degree person over somebody who has the certification well and I'm just asking are we offering those positions to the public first or you know along with transferring internally people that don't have a degree. Is that a valid question? Internal transfers are just that. But I mean you're not guaranteed a position in your contract if you don't have that degree. That's void at that point, correct? So I just want to make sure we're doing this correctly because you know what I'm saying.
I definitely don't want to see this happening when we don't give the opportunity for somebody in a licensed position to apply and take that job if we have somebody that don't have that degree and trying to transfer them. I don't like that. and I don't want to pay for somebody to get the degree it's just something that's been and I think that we should have the degree I agree it's just something I want to see happen and that would all be great if we put a position on weekend and got 30 applicants no but you can't but you're getting more applicants out there now that you cannot that is a very negative view and I don't want to it is I do not want to say that we can't hire a licensed person if we
don't try. That's a very negative position. They're always posted. Even if it's an intro. Okay, but I'm just saying sometimes. We just said this one wasn't. We're talking teaching positions. Yeah. It's happened, though. You keep them up even though you're still sitting there. Yeah, I'm just saying, I want to see, you know, look at it. A lot of times, the very first posting, even back to Bill and Martha's days, if there was an internal opening, it was usually posted back by the mailbox. I mean, but in a small school, everybody did. But if you didn't know, there was a posting back there that say something like, see Bill and Martha before, you know, a certain date. So it's kind of the way I think. I just think it's something that we just sort of keep,
we should quit trying. If you quit, then you're a quitter. No, we're not doing that. I'm just saying, if there is an internal, that's usually where you start. And again, they have to be certified for that. Yeah, but we've moved people that we let them get their license to do that job. We've moved people internally to do that, and maybe we should be posting them jobs. I think sometimes they've been posted, but he might be making that move in like August, where it's kind of like you're up against the clock, so it's like you've got somebody in-house to be able to ask for it. We could discuss that, but if you have a specific, I try to think of a specific. We can talk. Yeah, I do, but we can talk about it later. I
do have a different question on this one. The position she vacates, is that one that's going to be replaced, or is that going to be like not needed anymore. Well that's what we were just talking about. She's the aide in that position. Oh, so that was where she was working. Okay. I wasn't 100% sure if that was the area she was working or if it was in a different part. Yeah, and this isn't about this procedure. It's just the whole thing popped up in my mind. Just in general. because people ask these questions and then I don't have an answer and then I do wonder sometimes well how does that work and you know I think when you're not working within the school system you really don't know yeah and you just I sometimes I
have expectations of the outer world how that works the school is a whole different fall of wax well if you know I But look at how broad those degrees are. I'd say mine was one night. Yeah. You know, Chris Vanden, he stops at the bar and says, nobody wants to do third grade next year. That's how I ended up third grade. I said, what do you say? What do you mean? You know, all the second graders are awful. And I said, how awful can a second grade be? He goes, then you'll do it? Yeah, sure. How bad should it be? How bad was it? Terrible. I'm ready to put it. It was absolutely awful. but it ended up being great the first week so I mean yeah you could have posted that second grade job
or third grade job but you just moved people around well you had the license this is my whole point if you don't have that degree and then we say well you're an aide but will you start teaching and then you can earn your degree well we should be posting that job looking for somebody for a degree and if it doesn't happen then we Yes. With any? Yes. Any? Yes. Yes. Motion carried. Approval of the Baird software services for the 26-27 school year. So moved. Second. Discussion? So this is the, you know, Baird helps us out with our budget and planning and things like that. The tool. Yeah. This is a name. Not only do we get the computer software, we get a lot of help from them as well. You need to be able to
talk to somebody. As a matter of fact, I think with that, it's a purchase here at school. A lot of them are referenced. There's no ways to have to redift. All right. I don't think we need to go call for that. All in favor, should I ever say aye? Aye. Opposed? Motion carried. approval of 26 27 milk and bread bit amazing coolers have you cool down all those in favor signify saying aye opposed approval of 26 27 exclusion and restraint report I'm glad to see that just want to say one thing about the I'm glad to see it's not all just fat free milk yeah I'm glad to see actually oh well yes yes healthy yes yes and I would imagine other products and kids will actually eat it and drink it it's only four

Approval of the notification to the public of school needs voucher programs pursuant to expense the statutes one one eight point five one hearing any all those in favor signify by saying aye opposed motion carried approval of the notification of the public education options available to children
who live in the district Anything you'd like to add to that? No. Every school's doing it. Yeah, you have to. We live in a choice society. Any other questions? All those in favor, signify by saying aye. Aye. Opposed? Motion carried. Approval of the 26-27 contract with emergent 3. Second. So this is, and I'm not sure if you guys were able to take a look at that video I sent along with that, or you couldn't see that, but I couldn't see it. Well, Kevin and Chad and I talked with this Morgan from E3 there last week, but they've got a very interesting program that would just help you out, just keeping things organized when it comes to your drills, whether it's a fire drill or we have to evacuate or anything like that. It's all based
on the teachers that put it on their cell phone, they get it on their laptop. It would just help everyone keep things organized. For example, if there's a, I don't know, let's say there's a gas leak or something, you've got to activate everybody. And then do I know, or does Chad know, you have everybody out? Well, with this program, each teacher would be putting into their phone, yes, I've got everybody, or I'm missing little Johnny or something. You know that you were missing. What do you do with someone who's a son back there? So they would have to have that as well. So that's something we're going to have to work through. And I'm sure they've got some other things coming out as well. This summer they're going to look at a reunification program, which
I think would be very interesting too because, you know, let's say we did have something where we couldn't be back in the building. How do you get everybody to their parents? you know it's a lot of moving parts in a situation like that this would just help us to keep more organized no but it could go to there if you go to their laptop and probably I know there's a lot of people that don't do anything school business related on their personal devices no, but when they're in the building they've got their laptop so there is options they refuse to do it on their personal device right, well that was my question are there any hidden costs I don't really hidden because over the years we have bought We have had three ring binders stuffed
in every quarter, we've had how many different red and green posters to take with that. We've all done it. The problem with that is that I've noticed, you know, you have your rosters in there from day one of the semester. And this happens third quarter and you know your rosters have changed. this right there it is hey that's it that made all right this would link with our student yeah you know using the building that day you know if someone was absent that day you know that the internet's up the internet goes down there's not going to be any data they're going to get from this app on their computer or if there's no power so what's the backup is there a backup then because of like the radios or whatever because you know somebody
says to you I'm not putting this on my personal device okay it's fine it's on your laptop but okay wait now there's no internet you cannot access anything there's no power your battery's dead there's a lot of times the internet's going out especially in these rural areas I agree cannot rely on that do the two of you look at this as something that makes our school safer I mean that's what if it checks that box I think that there is no perfect system, never going to be the chaos that erupts just on a drill. I can't imagine if you're hearing all the other terrible scenarios going on. But I know those things are only as good as the person. I mean, you know, on any one day, you've got half a dozen subs in here,
and I mean, it's chaos. What about the cost? What's our cost? So for the first year, it's $4,500, and the year's after it's $35. So we've got $1,000. Is that contracted so that he can't change that? It's certainly not worth $20,000, but it's probably worth $4. So is everyone responsible with getting the, you know, having, you know, being responsible for the children getting out and counting for them? Do they all have a laptop? The teachers? Well, I don't, you know, I'm not sure how it runs. Well, that's up to it. They would have a laptop because I do not think people should have to use their personal devices. What if their cell phone will shut off because they didn't pay their bill? Yeah. and then that's don't work well i think that's why you know
so i mean that's right their personal life should be separate from us and i think that i'm guessing the illustration of the phone was it's just kind of like it'll be on there but that's not the required requirement will be the expectation will be school purchased laptops installed goes outside with the person And that goes down to your in -servicing and grilling of the diesel. And everybody keeps theirs charged. Once you get outside, you're going to have a hand. Well, just a valid question for Spike, don't know. Oh, it is. I just think that. Because some people don't charge their stuff. I think the very best insulation is just really doing a good job with our kids or our families. Yeah. I just don't like wasting money. I agree. If it was a waste, I'm
like, all right. They're going to be required. This is going to be required. We're going to be checking it, testing, making sure everybody's watching and paying attention to it. And are we locked in on that cost for three years? Three years. So all of a sudden, if you've got where people or staff don't do what they're supposed to do or take it, you're not going to, you should have an out that first year. Or do it with the cost for one year. I don't like committing to three years to something if you don't know how it works. That's just like a good salesman. But if it doesn't work, though, I mean, well, yeah. You know, but I mean, if you're tied for three years, they got you in that contract. Yeah. What do the cost
to get out of it if we don't get out of that contract? Well, I'm going to make sure it works before I sign it. Exactly. Right. You're at $11,500 for three years. Yeah. I just don't like contracts like that. They're dirty. I agree. I just know the system, but there is every, you shoot a hole in every scenario. Well, like Chad was saying, I mean, they're going to make a map of our school, and if we never have any kind of seriousness like that, but they're going to be able to exactly learn what's going on. Like I said, I mean, I could see, like, when I was at New Lisbon, we had a gasoline, we thought it was a gasoline, it turned out not to be. But that was another case where we had to
evacuate the building. You know, it wasn't, like, an imminent threat to anyone, but things like that. But you don't want to have anybody inside. Right, right. It's kind of the same situation. I get the idea, I like it. I just, you know. Three years sucks. It works with Skyward. You mean like student information? Who creates the stuff that you see? Do you guys have to do that? Oh, you mean like a map? They know the maps of the garden. They do. To one other question. How will Skyward be around for three years? Didn't we have a different type of thing that we used to be for? Yeah, so, you know, that does change, right? I hate Skyward, I'm sorry. Well, if it's not Skyward, it'll be something very similar to that. And they would want
to put that in the contract? Yeah, well, yes, I can really put that in the contract. I guess Skyward would be okay, I guess, if there's also more communication with the teachers also. I mean, they don't collect. Well, there's a very lazy part right there. and our school they're all the same yeah it's just such a drastic change if you're if you're in a elementary self-contained room you know who's in your room who's there yeah if I had teachers our teacher the other would be somebody special but that's probably used to be in the moving grooming junior high and high school that's what I was going to do in one class that's why it's so well that's where every hour you just would go on that hour but and Julie would have school leave and
all that in by then so this company will they work with whatever our operating system is not just skyward I just don't want to hear just skyward I want it to be open to whatever we have at the time right what if we switch you know what if they go flip-flop well I think it's that it's probably yes it's probably something this is downloaded I don't know I just see some kind of they work with whatever because I you know how contracts are you know yeah we still leverage and you're still have where they care because I just don't see teachers going outside on a fire drill everybody's bringing their laptop and we've got a radio on them but I don't think there's only what eight radios it's not everybody there's the radios were only
assigned to certain people in each wing and then you know like special ed or somebody else that doesn't really assign a class at that time would be kind of encounters it's a it's I'm just telling you folks you can shoot holes in all of it there is no good this one won't be fail safe that one is terrible exactly so if you guys feel that it makes my grandchildren safer I'm awful that's where I am with it I gotta trust All right, any other questions? All those in favor, signify by saying aye. Aye. All those opposed? Aye. Okay, one more time. All those in favor, signify by saying aye. Aye. Opposed? Yes. Okay, let's get them. Let's do a roll call. Opposed? Yeah, no. Yes. Yes. Opposed? Yes. Yes. 7-3, or 4-3. The approval of
transportation services for Flambeau School District students attending, how do you say that? Mago Day Academy for the 26-27 school year. That just got added. Sure, yeah. So the state requires that all private schools provide an annual notification to the public schools that are going to bus their kids by May 15th. Okay, well, they missed that date. If they would have got that before May 15th, we wouldn't even bring them more. So like, OLS did that. but they missed that date so they just got just a couple of days ago so since they didn't meet the deadline they need to request the school board approval and just where is that transportation well let's get a motion that we can discuss and i say it fails for a lack of emotion number 11 approval of the resignation
of the flamble school special education very professional discussion yeah exactly kind of breaking up the band this way all right so vicky any questions no you guys got it yeah i'm like he's down further in yeah we're a pair of professionals thing all right so this one's for all right any other questions all those in favor say aye opposed approval of the resignation of flamble schools family consumer ed teacher osa and fcc la advisor any discussion this is right I just want to make sure you know do we do exit interviews you in it? Yep. Okay, well, let her know she'll be missed. All those in favor, signify and say aye. Aye. Opposed? Motion carried now. All approval of the retirement plan was a special ed fair professional.
