mental health day for middle and high school students back first which was a half day. The new event had a variety of activities from classroom options, a focus on community and mental health presentation from Miss Egg. It was a great success and we think the students had a good time together. >> Who knows if it's true? In March, our middle and high school swing choirs traveled to Fatimore for a contest. Middle school earned a first rating and high school earned a trip to state. We had a fabulous music trip to New York City in Washington DC. We hit all the highlights and especially enjoyed the musical Hades Town. Thank you to Thank you again to our supporters, the school and administration, parents, chaperones, and students for making this an unforgettable trip. Congratulations to Charlie Zelhoffer
and Lane Miller for making it to the WSMA state honor band in Orchestra. They performed at the Overure Center in October. In choir, Maddie Smith and Harlo Flehardy were named as alternates and I think Maddie just got in. So, um, solo ensemble was on April 11th. We had 30 entries and 24 moved on to state. 008early miday for distribution before the end of the school year. They are currently working on the 2026 spring supplement which will be will be sent for publication in June and distributed at the start of the 2026 coming. It has been a wonderful active and academic career and keeping the school board for all our your support to be able provide such a wonderful and enriching experience for our students. >> Have a good night. Have a good All right. Um, another board member that was the first. All right, we'll jump down into the expense developers and resembers and >> I think so. Yeah, I think that would be great. trying to figure out what we're looking for. >> Anybody has a better hand on this than me? But I was on kind of went down through I've
been on the school board long enough that you kind of know the norm for everything. But if something really shows up real high price or whatever, you ask questions to find out why or who pays for it. And so I mean every once in a while if uh like when Jeff went off his buses to do a real big expense. Okay. What what was the cause or whatever that way or I mean given for the PE cards uh we order lots of uh end of year supplies just to get in to the end physical end June 31st or 30th. And so you'll see a lot of that gets put into somebody's >> card. So just to have it on hand and get it use up some of our budget all been used up. But >>
but then ultimately Allison is all these items are going through a a budget for individual features. This has all been checked against that when we get this. >> Yeah. It's been checked. >> It's all been budget >> two times. Yes. We don't necessarily know that >> but everything. Yeah. And those kind of things like the PE card things they purchase order sort of thing. You know, we used to have a committee that met what happened before the meeting >> and the young members. We kind of discussed that a few years ago >> same thing over again the meeting and >> the first year you go through it you know after you first year or so you get a better handle on what goes on at different times what you expect but it's more or right
now where you knew just anything if you see a big plastic you saw a huge check that went to CISA for example >> you might ask you say well what is it what is that for you don't Right. >> I was going to say to whatever you're curious about all questions, you know, building knowledge, knowledge is power. >> And like we're trying to transition also into a practice of you get this earlier. If you review and you have questions and you can send the questions prior to the meeting. >> Um just so there's more preparation and looking, you know, not everything might be on the top of the head. So it takes a little bit of the digging Um, so but yeah, >> so we review these every month. >> You have to pour through
it. >> Yeah. But at least we can see it with our you'll get used to seeing what >> in a lot of these I'm pretty familiar with already a lot of these vendors. part about the P cards seem like for vendors at this point. >> Hard to guess. >> So I guess with that I guess this is the opportunity to kind of those questions you have. >> I don't need to ask. Oh, it's on page seven. Oh, and it deals with something from Yeah. So, Newman Pools, we have a annual contract with them for that service. I don't even tend to know what it is on page seven. They did annual service. when they did it, but invoices May 5 and that was and then later on the agenda tonight I saw repairs contract but
that doesn't have anything to do with this then because this is the service which I didn't remember that we had a service with the UV well I just said I didn't know if there was any connection or >> the third one down on page seven something that day $400 or >> and that question I don't know that I think it's accurate. ely um answer without >> Alison was going to try to log in, but she had to wait till Troy got home to take the little one. So, >> yes. So, she's going to try to log on as soon as she can. >> She may >> and she has a basket, I think. >> Yeah, we can do that later, too. I'd be fine, but if we have the staff, but I don't know that
I said service contract, then that's exactly what the other says service contract is. I don't know. I guess the other explanation might be since this contract, what's the contract? Is that next year? >> Or is it? >> We'll look at it. >> Well, then I'd really be interested in what our contract was last year. >> This is this is a fix. >> That's fixed. that way cuz we gave us probably some bits and pieces and he didn't really like >> Oh, so we're not actually that. >> So that's why he's getting the one from >> Okay. >> where it was. This was the cost we paid for them to come out and tell the other All right. Any other questions? If none get a motion to expense virtual rece by Earl. All in favor? I
I Moving down to seven agenda. Thank you. >> Agenda for tonight includes the April 8th regular board meeting and grounds and transportation committee meeting from the April 29th special board meeting. Um authorization to approve non application for open enrollment students to attend or read the district guidelines and board education limits in general 26 27 student handbook provisions. Second reading of new policies digital content accessibility accounting oversight of funding dispersement. Um the athletic trainer agreement with DHF DMH for 2020 2026 27 in the summer of 2026. The TC network agreement for the next two years. City club oral care agreement for 2627. a fundraiser for summer softball and donations to include the P department receiving a 20 $2,500 bel used to purchase heart rate monitors. Fiskers donated about $650 worth of tools. Mr. Lee to help
with landscaping. Mikey donated $612 worth of sand to extend the shop. Any questions or conversation about that now >> if it's approved is that price was okay. So, so and a donation of xylophone >> xylophone equipment that's part of the rest of the um donated to the school. >> All right. So, >> Ice cream from Ashley. donated all the ice cream for the kids. >> Oh, actually um bought ice cream for all of the kids or is fine. >> Is that coming >> the check? >> It's coming >> for students and staff. Yes. Did we get any
yet? >> Show up on the right day, right? >> Forward surprise. >> All right. Um, with that, I get a motion to approve the consent agenda. I will so move. I will second. Motion by Earl, second by Bo. All in favor? I >> motion carries. We'll move down into our action agenda. First up is the 2026 summer school program and >> I think we have list of them and really runs the summer school program. So do you want to get into any seats out there? I think as of right now we have 160 some kids signed up. So no matter how many times I put a deadline on there and ask them to sign up when summer school start. >> So I'm sure that number will be closer to 200 by the time. We're doing
transportation like we have in the past and >> I'll be here at 8 7:30 and I'll be gone at and then the camp tickoo is we had we've had so many last year especially so many middle school teachers volunteer to do stuff which is awesome because we had a bunch of middle school kids. um the camp kicker who really we just divide the first first, second and third graders up and then fourth and fifth can decide what classes they want to go into going up. But some new ones is babysitting and beyond. Morgan got um trained in that and we talked about the hunter safety with M with Mr. Martin. He's got one class of 10 and one class at eight right now. Fishing's got 24. At least when I checked this morning, they can
only have 25. I hope two kids didn't sign up. And then Ryan Beagle is doing basketball and volleyball. So, and Lori Martin has to go to the second week. Lori have to um she's going to a camp for robotics in Madison. So, she can only do the first week. And Amy and Sam can only take a week of the four-year-old. So, one week was enough. But yeah, it's gone really, really, knock on wood, really, really smoothly the last. I guess this will be Yeah, I've done it for years now. Should be good. >> And then in addition to that, which is how not during our summer, >> right? The reading we talked about. So, >> the Well, the reading, but the um Kaku Valley Reserve. >> Oh, yeah. The reserve one. I've had nothing to
do with that. And I think we had 16 kids signed up. Large had seven um currently, but we are each supplying a teacher. Um Steve Wallace has insurance papers, but he will be picking kids up at Kapoo and then he has a bus and picking kids up on the barge and then going to the KVR for biking, hiking, swimming, um survival skills. He wants to do a little bit of cooking. What's the name of their organization? >> Yeah, he does. >> Steve Wallace, he has to sit in pretty far. >> First time with this type of thing. I think he he tries to get out and build community and and so yeah, we have a lot of interest and it will be one week long and Sarah will teach that. So we have staff member
but we do do that. Stephen does have insuranceances that there two weeks we're doing. Oh, it is Monday through Friday. just >> I before my time when I would pro when I always swore I would never ever come in for summer school and then tired of it. Um then it wasn't at 3 weeks and it was Monday. >> All right. Any other questions on the summer school program? before I made it. >> Oh, I was looking second by Earl. All in favor? I Please7 >> um yes to you motion to appoint yeah >> I was to do that he has much experience but we know she has been doing this many years so We want to do delegate and then an alternate or do you want to sign an alternate at the same time for
interest to being what's involved with it as items? school board in Milwaukee. >> Third week of January. >> Yeah. >> One of the afternoon Wednesday afternoon. >> Wednesday afternoon. You said meeting 1. >> You're really selling it. >> Well, that's your rest. got done in half the year before 5:30 didn't have enough for like okay we're done this year some of the resolutions that didn't get done last year came back on so >> it's it's hard to to sell it because there's so many other sectionals and stuff going on which is why I never did it until two years ago but I ended up doing it for season because person supposed to do it couldn't at the last minute so just have there >> and yeah, >> I mean I could do it but I
could in also end up being the Caesar representative and if that happens >> there's a lot of sessions that are very informal taken gives you a lot of information different stuff that goes on from Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. It's your what the resolutions that schools bring is things that guide then depending on how the group votes on it. They guide the WSB lobbyists in you know whatever you lobby for which direction they want this and they have to keep the needs of like little schools to big schools rural to urban all kind of out. So sometimes they change resolutions a little bit just to >> Yeah. Sometimes >> you can't like do something for one second but for another because they have to keep the whole picture. So it really it's more like the things that
you hear about in a legislative update what bills are out there and what things are looking like and say what they say. I don't know this does anybody think they'll be going? I mean the problem if you're not self-employed or uh retired get off work >> is that yeah then if you're going and especially if it's your first year there's just so many sectionals of things to go through that when I would look through that you know it's like gosh I'm going to go I don't want to sit there all this this good And you have to send our names in ahead, right? But they can also last minute because >> I think I can change them online. Yeah, I do have Yeah. some stuff here. I'd like to put my name in to me
then if I had a representative for CISA then we'll be discussing by that kind of you know whether a weird kind of thing than the other part of the experience. >> Well, if you'd like to put your name, that would be the other. >> I did that, too. And to be honest, have we ever >> It's okay. just to go without being delicate. I mean, like I said, some sessions to go do what you learn. >> Yeah. And there are more you can pick your topic. So, there's the financial end of things and student end of things. >> See vendors that are there that everything they got usually are where we get the buses from. There's usually about three or four different bus companies there. four different uh gym floor companies and then you get
after being there so many years you can vote. >> So I guess I can just amend my original motion to nominate your own and I'll alter >> I'll make a nomination for >> Okay, there you go. >> All right. So we need a we need a motion then to approve Earl and Jan alternate 6.7 >> I'll second by Ash. All in favor >> I next is our CC3 representative for 2627. Um, okay. That the one main thing this person is supposed to do is go to the CISA annual convention which is Tuesday, August 4th at war at CISA. I have done that for maybe we have a trip planned. I'm not gonna not a huge deal. It is another one. But if there's anybody else want another six o' I think. Yeah. Oh, election of
board of members, but I have here that's just not position. Anybody interested? >> Well, they have any they have to have a name or something because they call everybody actually the whole board some districts. >> Yes. proceeds. I don't have a new school board that perspective on this. Yeah, that's good. to answer your question. I think it might be good to have an alternate representative for an alternate. >> Okay. Are you motioning to appoint? >> Okay. >> Motion second. >> Second by Earl. All in >> favor. All right. Now we are on 267. Right. So, DIS um is just a list of the teachers that you are are willing or wanting to tell them that they have a job next year. You're providing a contract. You just don't know the salary yet. So, putting an
intent to hire in their mailbox um without the specific salary attached as we will need to discuss that with a future meeting. question. What is the atrisisk? >> Um that is like an interventionist that student or current student a teacher who helps the students who struggle more so than these are at risk of >> Yeah. I was just intervention. >> Yeah. same idea. Absolutely. All right. Any discussion or questions from the list of teachers? We get a motion. I'll make a motion to approve the list of chairs that are been provided to us for the upcoming 26 27. >> Motion by second by Ashley. All in favor? >> I post. All right. So, next we have a roof repair bid, but I think that was scratched from our meeting. So, I think that's scratched from
our agenda. >> I think the bleacher repair maintenance bid, I think we're looking for more information before that comes to the board. So, we'll scratch that from the agenda. Uh the gym floor it says repair, but I believe that was the resurfacing and refinishing here. becomes any discussion on the agenda explanation why the committee could approve that. >> So I believe usually committed. >> Yeah. So the committee can accept up to $5,000. Anything over $5,000 will come to a full board. So that was approvement. >> So then next is the >> baseball softball code repair up comes to us. So we'll scratch that. >> Um it's stalker sports. There's only one called. So then the next item was the full UV service contract which I think the we're going to look to get a second
quote for that as well. So we'll finish that off the agenda and that'll take us to the agenda. So discussion items um a one is the fees for 26.7 So, um, as we looked at and discussed, um, kind of that budget, we thought that it was time to increase lunch prices. And, um, so the increase was for 10 cent. >> The numbers listed here include that 10 cents or they don't have that number happens. Itclud >> no that includes >> that is the price. >> So it has been increased five times the weekly. >> Sorry. What's that? >> I'm sure she >> Yes, I did. Am I Nicola? >> No. No. And the increase in time was that it really wasn't quite that because you started raising it either because there's some kind of visit
or somewhere a lot of times we don't have to do that and they said no need to raise it a little bit. And then hopefully that great and 10 cents was capric now I can't see it but >> but part of the thing too was we had a big fun service over >> yeah and now that's basic the same. So breakfast is still free. The increasing dying for lunches to everybody. You want to just touch base on the varsity athletic tickets. How's the fielding going? Um, >> we've gotten some. It's not >> I a few times, you know, run down, but I don't, you know, I count on turning it in, but it's not it's not by >> defined last year because we've been free since year. It is kind of nice to have it
open to >> Yeah. I just I know last year I think I brought up just because I had two different people during sports say you know where else I go I have to pay when I come here >> they come in sign by it's a box for donations right kind of make a sign there. Yeah, we do not charge for admissions, you know. >> I can't remember what it said. >> Yeah, I don't think it is suggested donations like you know how you >> like go and feel like you should donate something, but it's over by the food stand. >> Is there an opportunity or an option for like a electronic like or something like that? I just I mean because so many people just don't carry cash today, >> right? >> So that's something
that was I don't know how much service people can easily just scan and put money into. >> So the conference actually does they only accept electronic >> NBC is the same way too most places. >> That's all. when you walk in, you can't just pay. You cannot pay cash. >> They don't have any cash. You ask, they'll help you do it on your phone. >> Because the discussion is like if you're having someone sit there all night, pay like that's what we said, too. >> I mean, Alice would know the exact amount, but it's definitely less than $10,000 for sure. And I think the amount of people that we get to go and support, you know, the kids and come and there's a lot of families that come to games now that I know what
they're paying. Yeah, >> four bucks a piece for their five kids or whatever. They're not coming to the game like they do. And >> you know, the concessions is always really good. I think that, you know, that that's been supported really well. And >> I I mean, I guess I've never heard a I've never heard anything negative. Nobody's ever said, >> "I want paid." You know, it's always like, "This is great. This is really nice. It's greatly appreciated." you know, um, you got to think if someone's trying to if they were going to put money into entry fee concession >> by the concessions. Yeah, exactly. >> With the donation thing, I just think about if I was coming in the door, I feel like if there was something actual that you were donating to or
like that you had a, hey, we're 2,000 under 10 there. You know, I just if I can see what I'm donating to, it's a lot different than where the hell is that going, you know? Maybe we could pick something to have it for us. >> They do the 5050 like they do charge50 specific pieces of equipment or whatever the staff during football gets interested in doing that too. >> We're trying to raise money for our Yeah, some football in conjunction with the 5050. Hey, we're going 50/50 tonight. It's going specifically >> for this for this group. You know, then people may be more apt to, you know, do some more. But I mean, just, you know, we've had situation with people in the community, you know, who've gone through hard times or whatever. And that's
like super well supported. I mean, the amount of money that, you know, people give in those situations or whatever, it's been >> a lot, you know, and again, if you got five kids and it's four bucks and, you know, instead of, you know, it's like, okay, here's $20. I want to contribute to this family to help. >> And maybe we can do what Isaac said. stand. >> All right. Any other discussion on the I guess there's the pool pass district. It's all staying the same. No discussion. >> Yeah, I heard nothing on that change. >> All right. That's just a discussion item. So, there's any other discussion, you can jump to board committee assignments. never. >> So, one of just I know last year I remember last time I think this guy had people just
email him with things they wanted to do and he kind of just split it up or >> comfortable with the president. I mean otherwise these kind of people are just saying can somebody tell me I mean I missed it somewhere but I know we changed some of these like I remember policy becoming policy and legislative affairs >> finance that was set up when we dispense with the expense that's finance >> well I'm going to make a suggestion we don't have necessarily committed maybe I should talk about this Would it be worthwhile to replace that with an insurance committee? >> Yeah, >> because my idea for insurance committee was not just to have a couple of board representatives because I'm really not looking at them like you guys do building. We're not going to look at
that kind of thing, but um a committee with a represent representatives from the board, but also maybe we could get two from the teachers union. Now, we aren't negotiating with them or anything like that at those meetings, but I think it would be really useful if there were a couple people from the the staff who were willing to come and monthly maybe or by monthly enough look at them. you have to talk to would be Allison because she'd probably have to be there or and or you um you know to look at those figures when they come in to talk about you know so that they're not just getting that when Janice comes you know here's how it's going and I don't know but maybe we can just put that if you want you want
to think about that a little bit. >> Can I say something though? We were looking to cuz um the hold up with Allison doing um contracts is we don't have a negotiations committee. So if we had that then we can move ahead and she could do our contracts. >> I would like to be in negotiation. >> Is it Rich? Would you like to be in negotiation still? >> Rich. Rich, do you hear us? >> No, I can hear you really good. I can I can hear Isaac sort of. Did you ask if I wanted to stay on the negotiation committee? >> Yes. So, interest me. >> Yep, that's fine. >> Either of you interesting part of that. >> Yeah. >> So, there's not that. Well, we haven't decided that, but we haven't >> we haven't
sold. >> Some of the discussion at one point for finance was breaking that down into, you know, more tangible things to to look at. I think the finance committee was the one that met before look at the expense >> expense, the expense review committee because it changed every month and people just cycled through it. Earl or the treasurer >> wasn't right then too um had be on it every month but then they just cycled two people through you have it for two months >> they brought that so it's just the whole board review and so it seemed like we were kind of doubling up but anyways so the goal was to get to a point like is this looking more at you know breaking down some of the other budget items and just having some
oversight and and visibility into that but we never really made any headway on that so that's something we want to renew. I just I know >> there's often discussion about kind of our budget as a whole and >> you know I think the one thing that always seems to get discussed a lot is when it comes to staff expenses insurance but are there other things we should be looking at besides >> hire and insurance but like things that >> I don't know how granular we want to get how granular administration wants us to get But there might be some value in having that kind of oversight or insight. >> Yeah, I think the state Yeah, the state of funding right now that that that would probably be a wise decision to >> just focus on
the other side, >> right? Maybe insurance is one of the things that's part of that instead of I don't know how broad you want to be. But maybe that's part of their role perview because that's a big budget. >> Well, and I was going to say between the uh salaries particularly administrative and staff and teaching staff salaries and insurance you have the hugest chunk of your budget. So, but I'm still not exactly clear, you know, >> if you Yeah. Yeah. If you do an insurance one, if we do I don't know insurance would be part of that finance to just kind of the oversight or the monthly look at insurance in the finance committee but then we have you know every other month we can look at other things too. >> We could do that
too right? Yeah, we're not >> probably take a whole meeting to look at it. >> Once you get used to it and Allison gets you to that report, it would mostly just be reviewing that, you know. >> Yeah. And then as a regular month, we did get a paper insurance. >> Yeah. >> Because I'm interested in that. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> As a former board member, you do you really want to get on policy? It's really exciting. >> Before when you could actually normal school graduate could read or graduate could read the policies. Now >> yeah, it's almost it's >> I try to trust It's not easy. never met uh Scott kind of wanted to create that and maybe was this ad hoc so vast you know maybe if you had a different committee but
>> I think that was more in respect of the word wasn't it I think that was kind of >> when you hear ad hoc you hear another word >> which tells you it's this So, it's not on the agenda because I just did it last month. else. I think you can't do that. >> What? >> Something >> else. You got to get paid for. >> You never had one. Scott >> had a really good idea all new ideas and stuff. It just never >> issues with the legislation, >> you know. >> Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I was thinking she brought that up, but um >> cuz I think was it Chris James like invited to some of those early on meetings or was that legislator? >> Yeah, that was >> my feet in
there and I hit the button and I got stuck. >> Here we go. Dave chair back there is another one that >> I mean that's always been whoever comes in for the interview but I feel like that's kind of just a call for availability. >> Yeah. >> Do we just kind of get rid of I mean instead of having people sit on it's still >> Yeah. Yeah, it has been and I guess maybe what we could send you on the line of interview is just trust the administrators do like the elementary. >> So we'll not populate the personnel committee hearing. We're not going to populate the anog committee. >> Um, also interest in the finance committee. >> Yep. >> Insurance. >> Well, yeah. No, we have not. So, I guess maybe want to start there
negotiations. >> So, Ashley's name for negotiating they do it. So, I think we're good with that one. Um, maybe I'll jump back up to buildings and ground. Um, speak for you guys. We all stay on it. Anybody else have any desire for somebody I've ever >> All right. So, we'll leave that one alone. >> Um, so then the finance committee, are there other people interested? I would maybe back out of that one, especially if we're going to talk insurance. Yeah, I was gonna say I think to be safe that was that's that just occurs by sticking that there which it should be that's going to be but I went >> anybody So you you're going to stay that. >> All right. And then Alison, do you want to share that then? All right. And then
the board policy and legislative affairs committee is >> Rich will stay on that. >> Rich, are you staying there? >> Yeah, I'll keep hearing it. >> I think that's another one honestly. rich like building and grounds where you need some continuity there especially in that chair position. So when you see the next order of things you start so rich on policy. >> Look at the hand shooting in the air. Everyone, >> did I sell it too good? >> Yeah. I mean, can you hear me? Yeah, I'm I'm good to stay on policy. >> You'll love it. first five years at the school board. Awesome. Yeah, >> it's not it's a lot easier than >> It's a lot easier now with what you got. >> Yeah, it's it's not bad. And Rich does and I'm not
saying this just to be nice. You do a really nice job with that, Rich. You have it well organized. You guys get through it if we had to help here. >> Yeah. Well, it's easy with all the all the work Marlo does to to have everything highlighted and the changes and other stuff. So, whoever is thinking of joining, I mean, especially new people, I think it's probably a good pol or a good committee to be on because you're get familiar with the policy of the school. So, >> it all works. >> Do you want to do it? Otherwise, I think I'm the last person. >> All right. All right. So, on that Rich and Ashley for negotiation finance is going to be Alison Jan Earl for policies Rich Ashley and Alison. >> All right, moving
on to the activity one. Yeah, negative makes sense to me. I guess who holds the money? We always >> Yes. >> Thank you. Any discussion on any of these phones? Does the football program have some something in mind for the $14,000? Most of them that are big are things that I you know I know right for >> I don't know anything specifically but knowing Justin I'm sure he's got something that he's thinking that would be a good little issue with >> Yeah. I don't might miss it. school >> middle school boys basketball. >> Yeah. And that is they work work with the high school and it was some fundraising. It's it's a transfer of money. Anyway, it's like they're all in one with the high school. I'm going to say why? Because they were $69
last year. Why were they even the middle school? Mhm. >> I think that was one um but um we all as a basketball program. >> Yep. Because there's no middle school girls. Yeah. So we actually want >> Yes. Um that was the timing of the purchase and everything >> that just came in. Yeah. We still >> I was going to say there's typically a little bit of a deficit on that though I think. >> Well, but couple years more than a couple now years ago we started putting so much toward that. >> Yeah. >> That's actually I would assume after they've sold what they've sold that should be pretty >> okay. I mean they sold out of >> things have changed a lot. You're welcome. >> Class of 202. >> Well, it's the graduate class.
So, whatever that class is, that's their class fun. >> And they usually do it for I mean senior senior trip or a class trip or whatever it is. >> And that money actually goes with them with their class when they graduate. So it's >> like I don't even know >> usually they're supposed to take care of it once once they graduate they're supposed to take care of it and clear out the account. >> Yeah. >> I think what they did and would we hold it for one or two and then we say they're done. I can't remember. Well, I know 2025 they're Is that the one they're trying to work on? >> Yeah, I think because they came here thinking they could just take the money out, so they haven't come back to do the
paperwork yet. So, yeah. >> Yeah. >> Being a mentor. >> All right. Um, we'll move on to the co expense report. co-op split between people. Well, and since the spring board has not completed, they she does not have the numbers there and kind of waiting on the part, but I think it's worth um I uh emailed Ash Allison on this to ask how much of the money for the fall, how much of the expenses that we had paid because this was odd. notice there's absolutely nothing large and they had used to use some of the transportation depending on which direction like if we were going sometimes the larger driver because they from there they pick our kids up here and if they go up to say Brookwood them up um so respond not getting not
their expenses and no one know I don't know did we not send them a bill did we not tell But that bugs me a little bit. I think if we're going to co-op, we don't need to put all the expense. I don't think these are all the expenses because I think they maybe they didn't, but it would be odd that they had extended anything. I mean, I don't know because I have kids in it and my husband. >> I mean, if they're just picking their kids up from your practice, you know, back. >> Yeah. So, we need to get a whole you mentioned somewhere and it was either last month or somewhere in these things that go through trying to catch up from being gone last month that you uh was Megan and the principles
or ads were getting together. >> I think this has got to be addressed. We shouldn't be waiting this long because we're usually on the plus side anyway. But at least the expenses, you know, you're gonna what your expenses for last, you know, reason in a reasonable amount of time this season. I mean, I think one year we didn't even get the bulk of payment at the end until after this. Yeah, I think it was >> and when I when I talked with Alison, yeah, I don't know if and maybe it's a change of practice then that we'll have to discuss and I can bring that up to them. Um, but it sounded like to me when we were going through this that once they completed the spring then they must just send >> one payment
>> one. I don't it if it's a change it was it's different from what it was a few years back but I'm you know maybe they have been doing I don't know >> and I can't remember but I'm over last year we used to I maybe one year but there was years we were co-oping that we would get this report with the high school middle school football filled in the other blank. You can get one with wrestling filled in at the end. >> Yeah. So, ideally, you finish a sport and then let's >> put your expenses together. >> Okay. I don't know. To me, that's not reasonable. It's unreasonable or that's going to address. I will I That makes sense. All right. And a great follow for our committee assignment is uh we need this
negotiation committee meeting. or with Alison not here, she if you guys have an idea of when we want to have it, she can look at her calendar, too. >> Well, yeah. So, before So yeah, I would say >> first part of June at least. Yeah, >> I mean I think she has all the work done. It's going to be more. You know what? It's going to be kind of a matter of when I don't know the other >> Sarah's the union president >> but Alison >> and then it goes to the 21st committee of Christmas but either before that or calendar >> anytime when school hours >> May 5th >> or fourth >> May 13th >> 13 days 12 hours 42 minutes >> 16 seconds give >> or take I can't look at my calendar
Yeah, that previous day. I don't know what time >> negotiations should after school or after school. Rich, that's right after school work for you. >> Which week? >> Somewhere the first week in June. >> Yeah, Ashley said June 4th. >> That's fine. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, >> we could do any. Yeah, but what about Rich? What does June 4th look like? >> I mean, I would have to call in. I mean, I'll I'll be home the week after Memorial Day and then the week of the board meeting on in June. >> I have to travel the week of the 1st, but I can I can call in on the 4th. Definitely. >> Yeah, that's But what time is more convenient? Because Ashley mentioned that's a release one:00 release day. So anytime after about two >>
I mean I I I can that week I can rearrange my stuff. I could call in anytime. >> We'll see if Sarah can do that. >> Sure. >> Are there any teachers? >> June whatever you say. >> Yeah. Whenever >> we're gonna have Well, are there any elementary teachers on there? So, I was going to do a staff meeting at one. >> Well, don't does the negotiation committee meet first and then take it back to the >> and then and then meet with the union. Is that correct? >> Yeah. I mean, I thought we met just ourselves first. >> Yes. And then meet with them. >> Okay. So we Oh, that day we will present you and then we get together. >> Yes, >> but it's not too separate. >> I don't know if anybody
elementary teachers are on that. >> Yeah, be Six hours in the old days. >> How long they long meetings? It takes maybe 45 minutes for Alison's very organized. >> Oh yeah. The information and it's we have CPI calculations. So that way around probably >> All right. Oh, >> I'm sorry. So what time on the 4th? 1:30. >> All right. Thank you. >> Yes. Thank you, Rich. >> Um so, superintendent report. Um really just um bringing together everything beyond working with the staff and the students as there's always more issues in May. Um, but the deeptown focus is really on the portrait of graduate work, which is kind of a state initiative right now. So, I'm trying to put some effort into that to define that, bringing forward um that survey work that I had done
earlier. Um, having those ongoing um conversations, although May is really difficult to try to get together um but that was our commitment with Megan and that heats um is to keep that communication going. Um really also trying to explore the possibility of some alternative educational opportunities for our students who may struggle with our traditional educational setting. Um to just really work with the barge and and try to develop a way that we can meet those students needs together as well. Um continuing to work on the enrollment trends um some of the course requests working with Aaron on that um looking at our staffing projections any intervention needs and scheduling for next year. Overall our enrollment remains stable but we are seeing some shifts within the grade level cohorts. Um, and my intentions really are because
I know Isaac has kind of referenced some of those deeper graphs beyond the enrollment that I presented before. So, I thought the retreat might be a really good time to bring and help you visualize and see the district through um current enrollment cohorts and then projections really just so you have a good grasp of who Pikapoo is and our enrollment and our special needs um that are increasing. um had a short start of a conversation and meeting I used to work with I don't even know if you remember but Darth Larson quite a bit um as a principal um and as we go through all of this AI stuff and really taking that guidance from CISA I think Jamie does a really great job he's negotiated with Magic School to bring the pricing of an
AI platform formed down um being able to the entire region um that would be considered a closed AI which which provides a safety um to our students and staff really. Um, so continuing those conversations there, but I was kind of um looking more into Guarth because I always thought he brought a lot of really solid um education practices that were researchbased. Um, and he too was working with Tony Frontier who was also part of our CISO 3 trainings. So, I requested just a quick meeting with him and he's so busy, but he did. And Andy was able to come down. Erin was working with um an issue upstairs, so he didn't make it. Um but one of the conversations that we had during that meeting which really stood out to me was some research that
he had done around the declining cognitive stamina and problem solving skills that are in students um prior to AI becoming mainstream. Um which makes that that process of how are we bringing AI into Kikapu even more important. um to make sure that we remain committed to our vision of the critical thinking, you know, continuing to build the cognitive skills, but then teach students how we can use AI to elevate those skills that we still want to um remain focused on. So, he is having a um a training in August, I believe. So, there are four of us that are going to go to that training. um to receive some more um guidance really and how to bring AI to kick but our plan is still really I mean we're trying to to make some wise
decisions about AI but we need to get going on the road by the start of the school year so our plan is to bring in the professional development to our staff but also to provide us with that foundation of really understanding all of the things to be aware of and um how we can use it to elevate our our vision and our mission for our kids. Um, so we will hit the ground running at the start of the year, but we're still working on building some training into ourselves. Um, and let's see. So, yeah, we will be going to Nina with Guard Bush and Tony Frontier. Um, the digital sign project continues to move forward. Annaline is currently coordinating with Bigger's hotline and establishing a timeline for our project. He had he was trying to
get me that timeline this week. Um he is also working with several other additional projects. Um but he he told me that he was calling the diggers hotline and would would start that process. Um, we continue to engage in the broader county and regional safety conversations. Um, how I meet with the Vernon County superintendent and additionally participate in the Vernon County Schools safety task force meeting which includes um the law enforcement, fire departments, healthc care, businesses and schools. Um these conversations really build that awareness about community safety concerns while strengthening our communication. Um now we are also going to start that same type of group in Richland County so that we can coordinate our efforts and our our communication and our language is all very consistent. So, um the safety practices will will be very
common no matter what school that you're attending um or visiting or or compete in. Um recognizing some of the positive student centered projects. I think like Aaron had mentioned um Sam Goodwin and one of her students along with Mr. Kger have been redesigning that landscape area right outside the elementary entrance which looks phenomenal. um giving students opportunities to contribute to the appearance and the atmosphere gives them a little bit of ownership. And again, like Erin said to the previous group, Jeremy and his students have been reworking with that um garden center right outside the elementary gym. Um helping to redesign the area with the flowers and native plants. um hands-on experiences and um just being able to identify some of those those plants um that we would like them to be aware of. Um and
then just continuing to recognize the staff for their small acts of service and their teamwork and the flexibility. Um, it's really nice when you're out in public and people find you and sit by you and just comment on the interaction that they've had with the Kikapoo staff member and um it's it's I sent an email today just talking about the Kikapoo way and how all of those um actions and interactions matter and I think just really build um who kickoo is and and establishes our reputation. So all of those acts that they are doing out in the community or making connections and I know Erin's going to probably reference one of his later but it all matters and people recognize that and I am continuing to work on different communication measures to a keep you
more informed um weekly to keep our community more informed of what's going on um and the staff. But May is very much a people month and people come first. So it's a lot of interactions with kids and families and staff. So that kind of is taking the priority and the forefront, but there's a lot and I I graduated That's all I have. >> So you mentioned the AI. So are we going to have the magic school? >> Yes, I did submit my name that we would >> Okay. >> Um just because I think we're going to have to have an avenue. I like that it's closed and to protect and I also really want to respect Jamie and all the work that he does um to build these relationships and and create opportunities for us.
So authorities and I hadn't heard much feedback on so that >> yeah any platform's going to cost better than >> yeah so >> thank you everybody Yes. Yes. Exactly. And then you mentioned the retreat. >> Yeah. >> That you know that needs to be scheduled way ahead too because you know >> Yeah. >> And is that usually in July or August or whatever? We've had it anywhere from usually trying to get like right after short school. I was thinking it was later July or >> but then it's in July. One time it was in August that didn't work really good. It was too close to the beginning. >> Oh yeah. But just >> Yeah. >> You're just thinking the one day. >> Yeah. Un do whatever you guys really want. But I was thinking one
day would be Yeah. >> All right. >> Um, track and field day today was today. It's kind of Sam Gir's big farewell. Um, a lot of nice things were said about Sam and very deservingly so. Um Kim got sleepy to bring their ice cream truck and everybody got ice cream and Lacy Baker passed out the ice cream. Um bunch of field trips coming up for the elementary starting Friday. People will be in and out. Um the spring concert is next Wednesday and that's at 6 o'clock. So there will be practices next week. Uh it was in the earlier minutes but Mr. Clemens got the Dustin got the $2,500 grant from the jump jump rope for hard stuff. So well done Justin. I'm finishing up E as is Aaron. um setting up class list for next
year, figuring out where everybody's going to go and then taking some time there is is the discussions with people about areas to improve things we want to try next year and different things we're going to do with Jim and things that we can continue to build on what we've done this year. So, it's going to be busy. I think I need May, but anyway. All right. As Andy said, uh, May gets pretty crazy. You can scout at night and graduations and everything else going on. Um, with that, uh, graduation helpers, Ashley, I think you're you're the you're the lone representative for middle school and the high school. So, unless anybody else wants to jump in, she said she'd do it. You're good with that? I know. >> Uh so Isaac, we will give you the
diplomas later tonight with the post on soon. So we got that. Uh with that just a lot going on. We had scholarship night last Wednesday night. Uh close to $500,000 given. So always pretty cool. Um just the amount of money and support that we have in the community for stuff which is great. Mr. Eggy did a great job with it. Um and again just you know the amount of local people that come and contribute and do things is pretty awesome. So one of the new things that uh Mrs. A has done the last couple years which has been great. We always did just kind of a transition a little bit but that program has really amped up. We do a sixth grade transition day. So they actually come up um and rather than just kind
of going to launch and walk through things there's like a whole bunch of info we go through um it's just a really good opportunity for them when they come into the middle school. Uh we have the academic assembly coming up next week um where we kind of try to go through more on the academic side of the things that kids have done um recognize that and one of the things that um can relate as far as just kind of support. So they actually give an award at the hospital. They have a Daisy award for the workers at the hospital. They have a B award. And so Fenth athletic trainer won the B award. So we went to the presentation. He didn't know he was going to show and so actually it was kind of ironic
because his he won the bee award but the bee award has nothing to do with bees but raises bees and the bees he's a bee farmer so we all had insurance be so we was good I think it meant a lot to him and it was good at that point so other than that uh after the end of next Friday night things will come a little bit more so Any questions or anything? >> All right. Yes. That takes us to 12 session stat 19.851c 851C employment compensation performance evaluation of any public employee for which the governmental body exercise purposes summer softball baseball coaches and volunteers assistant school baseball coach staffing changes 2026 motion motion second motion by second by Jan And all in favor >> I motion any comments any session? I'll make a motion
to for the summer softball and baseball coaches and voluntary volunteers and assistant middle school basketball coach the list that we have presented to us for the coaching solutions. >> I'll second motion by hand. All in favor? >> I >> opposed. All right. Motion to >> make that. Um, and they
