man's got the weather good afternoon and welcome to East Meadow high school for this afternoon's matchup between the Minnesota Falcons and your East long metal Spartans I'm Brady doback joined alongside with Teddy hewn tonight and uh we're ready to get some action going yeah so it's a beautiful 61 degrees out here today it's was pouring all morning and uh so The Field's gonna be a little bit slick the ball's gonna be skipping a little bit so the goaltenders got to watch out for that but beautiful day for a soccer game absolutely perfect fall weather and we're ready to kick this one off miniature starting off with some quick possession Riley steps up finds Oliveira in Olive area with some Running Room looks to Monroe in the middle Monroe switches Fields over to Richards oh Richard's
a touch move inside tries to get a shot on it good save in a save by Ben Wilson he slim out with a quick shot right off the bat Wilson punts it just short of Midfield where it's picked up by cam ice and sent back to Barlow Barlow will go to Wilson Wilson ships it out wide presnell trying to play defense Richards assists trying to use his body but can't quite beat him Stone a one touch over to presnell in the middle of the field Fresno plays out wide over to Oliveri oliveri's got plenty of real estate to work with crosses it into the middle and it stopped nicely by the minute chug defenseman Ben Biggins passes it out wide to marrigan with some pressure from Matt O'Keefe up top O'Keefe will chase chase down
marigan on the outside merrigan back into the middle finds Monroe Monroe One Touch back to Richard Richard finds Oliveira on the near sideline Oliveira quick cut move tries to cross it in this inside and it's deflected out of bounds off of Nicholas soupsick this is our if you're joining us live we're very happy you're here with us today once again Brady doback alongside Teddy Kuhn and we've just started this game 37.50 remaining in the first half 0-0 East Longmeadow applying a lot of offensive pressure early making minnichog's defense show them what they got Teddy so far how you liking it oh it's all right you know getting good shots off I think it's gonna be important to really test Ben Wilson today especially these shots Ted I know you and I we both played on
the same team for quite some time we've we played here at the turf when it's a little rainy out yeah and uh you know those balls they skid a little bit yeah you know so you get those shots on the ground those one Hoppers you got to be careful especially with morgato and Wilson they've got to be aware of those Hops and make sure that they can trap the ball the ball can also slip through their gloves absolutely got to adjust to the conditions and discolio put it to the sideline marrigan chips it back towards the middle Richard trying to find it can't and it's cleared back to supsec Super SEC plays middle towards ice and isil one touch it towards the sideline and across over to Atkin Atkin crosses inside and it's well defended
by diascoli coming off of a recent loss to Pope Francis 2-1 East Longmeadow coming off of a two-nothing win against East Hampton last night AJ Morgado with his first shot out of the year and there's a head ball on that and it goes off the crossbar there's going to be a whistle I'm going to assume that was an offsides or not it's a field goal yeah I believe it did yes hit the field goal post and so minichogs gets a freebie here as weslowski will be taking the corner for minnichog yesterday certainly the posts were morgado's friends and that couple went off the iron there weslowski throws it on the ground all the way and easily scooped up by Morgado foreign over the back Barlow goes to Monroe Monroe chasing him down and puts Barlow
on the ground and Dia Scully playing defense on Atkin and touches it out of bounds ball boy gets him a fresh one I'm not really sure what's going on we got a couple guys tying their shoes here and it's gonna be throw in for Nicholas soupsack definitely butchering a lot of these names steady it's definitely not how you pronounce it at all how would you say that name that which one right here I'm not even going to attempt it metatronics also got a lot of Junior and seniors yeah they do they definitely an older team um they don't have one sophomore so they I only see I got a couple songs rice Barlow as well as Ryan purchase so and Brady sumala salmala so they've got three underclassmen the rest are upperclassmen so very old
team an experienced team here for minute jog a corner goes to the far post Morgado tries to punch it out what a save and he'll do a great job of controlling the situation and Scoops that one up no damage down there again another player trying to go over Monroe's back there Biggins steps up makes a play on ice cam ice moves the ball out wide looking for Atkin and Riley shuts that one down should be a corner kick for a minute jog number 14 of Cam ice we'll be taking the kick ice sends it towards the PK mark and it goes off ahead and scooped up by Morgado Morgado punts it just short of Midfield and we've got a miniature player down on the ground around Midfield holding on to his right leg try to
go up for the head ball over Monroe already got cleated yeah perhaps Monroe coming down I'm not definitely looks to be the right leg I believe lower part of the leg Yeah Shin ankle Diane coming out in the cart yep Diane definitely looks to be in pain [Music] it's never fun when you get a couple spikes to the like that you know was not fun we're gonna take a quick break injury timeout clean up uh if I don't have hockey if I don't have hockey I can't know yeah all right yeah sure if I'm available absolutely so so when I give if there's a ball out of bounds or something your job is essentially to like an analyze it a little bit yeah it's our conversation like if there's some dead air I'm play-by-play you're
the guy who's supposed to be like when we have dead time bring up a topic or something he says you're gonna you're the like the analyst like person what's that no my brother that's my brother's thing yeah he's very good yeah he does hockey he's really yeah he's like UMass hockey yeah 12 that's 12. Aiden laying all right so he's off the field though blocking it off right now yeah when he's yeah sure okay and we're back after our brief injury timeouts Aiden Lang went down on the Play Holding On To His lower part of his right leg believe it was the ankle perhaps a cleat but he was able to walk off the field on his own strength so good to see there in a free tick free kick from Morgado looking for president
just past Midfield gets it to Stone Richard and the ball's stolen racing up the far side or the near sideline is weslowski excuse me and that pass goes back inside to weslowski and he can't make anything happen Barlow one touchdown wide to subsec and Hanley finds Monroe Monroe on a one-on-four needs some assistance tries to cut to the middle and Barlow defends well and passes it back to Wilson Wilson will clear to the far sideline marrigan steps up foreign to stone stone chasing down ice and now a ball sent towards the far sideline looking for Matt O'Keefe and he's unable to catch up to it and the sub coming in for East Longmeadow number 13. I believe that's Shane Smith replacing number six Brandon Stone I'm not sure I'm gonna check the roster real quick
might be his first game back we had some incidents with him and that is Shane Smith so he's gonna be in the game today making his first appearance Barlow sending it back to soup sack Oliveira steps up nicely on weslowski and weslowski is able to make a quick defensive play but it goes off his foot and it's gonna be an east-long metal throw in for Andrew Oliveira on the near sideline Oliveri finds presnell fresnel with a little bit of room Hanley with a quick move and a pass and they again double teamed in East Longmeadow wins the battle was Lasky fighting for it in the middle and Richard picks it up passes to presnell back to Richard and it goes off his heel and behind him a little bit of the tug of the Jersey
there from weslowski there's gonna be a whistle on minute talk free kick and Andrew Oliveira will be taking it for each long medal as they set up just outside the 18. Oliveri sending it to the far post looking for a head and it's defended nicely Biggins tries to send it back in looking for presnell Hanley open wide on the far side Biggins Barlow hits it down and it's taken by believe Nick Bradley Shane Smith finds Bradley Bradley have moved to the inside Zach Richard a one touch to presnell president what a fake fake move Hanley rips the shot on net and it goes wide right Sam tried to make a good effort there just wide I've noticed uh Teddy hanley's definitely on this weak side has been open quite a bit and they finally were
able to find him there but I think minnetrock's got to tighten up their defense a little bit because he seems a little too wide open to me we're getting better at switching Fields absolutely quick switch to the field and you're gonna get an open shot all day [Music] just gotta capitalize Wilson fortunately fortunate enough that was not on net he gets a free kick out of it sends it to Midfield the head ball from Shane Smith East longmeadows got a three on four Richard coming up to help Hanley looking inside in the top of the 18 to Smith Smith's got some room sends a ball towards the flag Richard will chase it down and keep it from exiting the playing field send a quick Cross looking for Bradley on the far post ends up on
Joe prezzle's foot prezzle makes a move to the left and taken down just outside the 18 and should be a free kick for each long medal me and Joe are out on the turf a few months ago you're getting some free kicks in so hopefully all your practice there Teddy will will pay off even though hanley's taking it but president with a great play just outside the 18. Sam Hanley looking to capture his first goal of his senior year it's Wilson directing traffic in front of the net foreign goes just wide right at the net and Ben Wilson looked pretty happy about that one another sub coming in another sub coming in number 24 for East Longmeadow I believe that is Tyler wretchen and looks to be replacing number nine Michael Monroe Monroe certainly establishing
some early offensive attack slowing Meadow thank you and hopefully this time I will continue to apply the early pressure that ball is sent towards Midfield Shane Smith Sam Hanley heads it down to himself and that ball Skinner's out of bounds sleeper with the throw in for minute jog the sleeper throws it to Midfield let's chase down by weslowski and Richard with a pullback move looks to find marrigan Marion and Richard double team Joe presnell and he rolls over the ball and they're gonna say it was a quick little foul there on cam ice and East Longmeadow will have another free kick in the danger zone Zach Richard taking the kick Richard one of the goal scorers last night in the two nothing win against East Hampton along with Michael Monroe Richard throws one on net
it skitters in and Shane Smith looking to get a foot on it and they're gonna say goal kick I believe a goal kick yep wasn't sure if it was offsides Joe McLaughlin also recording his first Varsity points of the season last night on the assist thank you and that head ball and Hanley goes way over the top of soupsick a little bit of Airborne there for Hanley some WWE type stuff and super SEC will hit a low laser at skitters on the ground ends up on the foot of ice excuse me not ice of Park Yom and it'll be a free kick for minute jog students section A little light for East Longmeadow today hopefully they can get something going four o'clock games I guess a little early for people yeah get out of practice
going to work and a shot on net one hop right into the chest of Morgado and he'll throw it out wide to Bradley in a little slip up there on the far side marrigan able to recover sends it up the sideline where it's touched up field by Barlow cam ice working with weslowski and a shot in a head ball attempt and weslowski tries to get another head ball on it and the ball will exit the playing field at goal kick for East Longmeadow foreign [Music] rips one off the Noggin of weslowski and soupsick traps it down looking for weslowski again diascali calls off Biggins and a quick pass from Shane Smith Zach Richard a fake ends up on Sam hanley's foot and he'll find Tyler wretch and wretchen with a chip up the the middle
looking for Richard or presnell and O'Toole will play it back to Wilson it's Oliveri Shane Smith loses the ball sends him and Ascend up weslowski in Atkin Atkins and it goes just left of the post little too much curve on it definitely a dangerous opportunity there for Minnesota Morgado catches a break okay some some subs going on some substitutions yes for East London Joe presnell will exit the game along with Zach Richard and Josh Riley will be entering again with I believe Shea McCarthy and Michael Monroe as well Riley head ball over to Hanley Riley tries to fire up the sideline just a little bit Out Of Reach come on and soup sack a touch pass to barkiom super saki again Riley chips It Forward looking for Monroe and ends up in the hands of
Wilson uh punt towards Midfield and carthy goes up for the header Barlow McCarthy ends up on the foot of vacuum and Santos sends it back to Barlow Barlow back inside tool O'Toole and I clear up the sideline just a little wide a little wide there both teams looking to be using the chip and run method Teddy I I've seen East long metal and minnetonk so far they're trying to catch their user speed up top and find the guy going towards the flag hopefully get a cross in yeah make a scoring opportunity Barlow with the ball at Midfield passing it to ice and that ball is broken up by Monroe Monroe double teamed and it spits out to McCarthy he'll play a wide to Bradley Bradley a quick cut move inside back to wretch in and
he'll play it out towards the flag looking for Nick Bradley and that ball will go out of bounds minicha goal kick thank you for that time check 20 minutes left to the first just under 21 remaining still a zero zero game so far been fairly 50 50. yeah a few opportunities for both sides you saw metal had some early shots and have yet to produce anything and minichog is definitely making their way into the offensive zone getting creating some opportunities of Their Own American oh one on two and minichog will be called on the penalty and a free throw in for Marion and there's another whistle on the play most likely exited the field a couple minute shock players shaking up on the Play Jake Barlow he seems to shake it off no problem a
few more students coming in flowing in yeah we're filling it up a little bit need some noise to be made from the student section get people fired up a little bit maybe even the parents can let out some screams American clears it and it's smacked down by Santos Monroe up the sideline for Hanley and supsak defends well Monroe curves it towards the middle and Barlow able to hit it oh Bradley goes for the low header a bit of a dangerous play if I've ever seen one sleeper could have knocked him out with one there put him to sleep Joan Richards coming in for a sub but not yet definitely two of East Long East longmeadows top players in Richard and presnell Fresno obviously a returning player but good to have Richard for the first time
in his uh High School career I believe he was playing club before this but definitely a valuable asset for to East Longmeadow and a great addition to the team this year and a minute chalk throw in on the far sideline just past Midfield and sleeper clears it weslowski finds the foot of bark yum and now subsec gets beat by Smith and the ball is touched up field Patsy diascali with the ball in the near sideline passes it back to Riley rileyo across it towards the middle looking for wretchen and it's broken up by itner wretchen McCarthy East Longmeadow trying to clear the ball out of their Zone Hanley double teamed by soupsick no foul and ass now ball played out wide Shane Smith a one-on-one beats Park yum and now has plenty of real estate
to work with McCarthy with a lot of space tries to throw a shot on that and it goes way right Joe and uh Richard's coming in for the sub they'll be replacing Sam Sam Hanley and I believe that's Nick Bradley exiting the game yep and you saw metal will change up the positions on the field a little bit straighten things out tools on left wing now and Ben Wilson with the goal kick looking for ice at Midfield ball spits over to Richard Richard and Shane Smith battling with Cam ice Shane Smith a pullback cut move finds merrigan and that ball trickles out of bounds it's going to be a minute chog throw in for Alex sleeper I'm gonna talk making their way towards Midfield an arrogant pass from Ice ends up on Richard's foot a
little handball and Jake Barlow will have a free kick the 25. and ball sent up all the way stolen from diascali by done and done chases down American Marion able to boot it out of bounds could have potential potentially been some trouble there for Islam a little bit of a miscommunication fortunately shut it down another sub coming in for Ben foreign s being replaced by Samir Khan on the far right wing defensive position and Khan with the throwing launches it to Monroe Monroe battling sleeper minnichog having some offensive zone time to Prezi Joe preszell chips it up looking for McCarthy McCarthy a one-on-one with soupsack and forces subsec to go out of bounds Josh Riley will take the throw in puts it to Richard one-on-one with rink Richard does not win that one Riley there
to help Richard to wretchen Richard again some good ball protection there from Richard and he'll send the ball towards the farm and they're gonna call Monroe offside barely I don't know about that one yeah he seemed down to me but that was that was a tight call I I thought that uh he didn't break that line until the ball was off of Richard's foot tough call a tough break for East Longmeadow as that would have definitely ended up in a scoring opportunity still a zero zero game just under 14 minutes remaining in the first half and Samir Khan forces that ball out of bounds and a freebie for Jack marrigan on the goal kick American has certainly been playing very well at least in the past two games foreign as he made some big plays
last night same with Dia Scully and McCarthy sends one towards the flag and Zach Richard can't seem to keep the ball in as he was being triple teamed and ends up going out of bounds Ben Wilson with a goal kick and uh head ball from sleeper and Monroe and sleep are in a foot race Monroe wins the Battle of three on four passes it to Fresno on another offsides call these slaw Metals can't seem to catch a break and roll still got that speed after that hit yeah Monroe suffering I believe that was the state semi-final game up in Canton Massachusetts yeah I made the hour 15 minute trip it's a little bit cold out but uh a great game between the Bulldogs and the Spartans but it sadly ended in East Longmeadow losing oh
no but yeah Monroe's offering what was it a fractured hip something something in his hip something in his hip was not right at all yeah and he was uh I believe an ambulance did have to car him off the field but watch the game live in the house oh yeah but certainly looks to be back to full strength as you can see his speed is certainly deadly on that right side marrigan wins the battle and Santos kicks it out of bounds Khan will have a throw in Samir Khan on the far sideline looking for his open teammates finds the feet of Brennan Stone and stone tries to get it back to Khan menachog with a quick transition trying to catch each long medal not set weslowski fires it back it's a Hitler hitting her out
wide to Harrison Harrison up the line to wesloskey and he's got a lot of room to work with across towards the middle American heads it out Sam Hanley a touch pass back to Oliveri and that's jammed up weslowski again with the ball and Hanley will keep it in bounds to prevent the corner ball spits back out to Harrison Hanley and Richard comes back to support and will clear it Jake Barlow and super sec working it on the far side and Khan steps up Morgado has to come out of his net and we'll scoop it up and get a quick punt off and weslowski going up again dear Scully bats it out of the air to Smith East Longmeadow having a difficult time getting out of their defensive zone right now the ball spits out to
Monroe and Monroe is going to clear it way outside Joe presnell chasing it down doesn't have the numbers Richard coming into support and presnell a one-on-one and that ball ends up going out of bounds it's gonna be a minute Chuck throwing and some subs coming in for minute chog right now number 28 Brady sumala as well as number 15 Matthew O'Keefe Matt O'Keefe currently the leading scorer for minnichog with three these teams definitely seem to be evenly matched currently minichaga has a record of one three and one and with the win last night for East Longmeadow I believe that puts them in the same Realm Shane Smith in Brendan Stone on the far sideline chase down by itner and it sputters inside the 18 and Ben Wilson will scoop it up no problem and fire
it out to Harrison Harrison chips it up to weslowski excuse me not weslowski to sumala waslowski playing it to Santos Santos can't make anything happen but takes the ball up again and Shane Smith with a great body Atkin and now chase down a good back check there from sumala but it ends up in an East Long medal throwing at Midfield just under eight minutes remaining in the first half score still 0-0 if you're joining us it's been pretty 50 50 so far Joe Presley with some space gets a volley a rebound can't quite connect and soup SEC with a great defensive play Nicholas subsec blocking that one down preventing Fresno from getting a clean shot on net gotta hurt a little Fresno again to the middle of Richard spits out to stone stone can't do
too much with it canly apply some pressure and Andrew O'Toole is forced to kick the ball out of bounds as I was Richard looking for Monroe on the far post might have been a shot those past few minutes that uh menichak certainly had some offensive zone time and it's getting a little bit nervous for a second yeah but uh fortunately we weren't really able to get any clean shots on Morgado but hopefully it'll stay that way the remainder of the game however East Longmeadow has been getting some opportunities they seem to be playing a lot of the through Ball but have yet to connect they've been called offside twice American playing it back to morgato Morgado will boot it all the way up to Monroe sub sick heads it for minute chog and minnetonk now
making their way Outfield Here Comes sumala and that ball goes out of bounds miniature corner kick and minnetonk we'll have the corner kick and towards the far post and it's headed out by Oliveri from the cross from Santos Hanley heading it up and that's taken down by Harrison minnichog with some numbers Ryan throws to the far post AJ Morgado diving to his right the balls wide enough where it doesn't go off of his fingertips and will be a result in a East Longmeadow goal kick for Jack marrigan and some more subs for East Longmeadow number eight Ben Biggins re-entering the game replacing 21 Sam Hanley Hanley also having his first full season as he suffered an arm injury last year and Ben um suffered something in his foot yeah I believe Ben Biggins also had
a foot problem towards the Late Late end of this actually I think he played through it most of the season but towards the end postseason he was definitely acting up on him I was not playing as much as usual Gretchen a nice pass to Smith Richard using his body but can't be at excuse me Santos Paul gets sent all the way back to Ben Wilson and he can't pick it up president applies pressure Monroe tries to get a punch Michael Monroe with some great floor checking ability what a sue what a Sue and Monroe Barry's one for each long metal with 402 remaining in the first half foreign applying some pressure and wins the battle against Wilson and all he has to do is touch it around Wilson and that ball just had a had
a one-way ticket right into the back of the net what a celebration great Sally from Monroe as well they call that one the sui this suey Teddy Kuhn is an expert in celebrations now he saw metal applying some more pressure Tyler wretchen up the side to Shane Smith a cut back inside Harrison defends well turns towards the sideline and that ball is deflected out of bounds by Oliveri he saw metal up one nothing around three minutes remaining and a through ball from weslowski Morgado has to come out of the net Waits patiently gets a little bit of a touch from Matt O'Keefe and rolls it out towards marrigan Marion looking for a through ball and it's broken up by Jake Barlow now another through ball and absolutely that one is offsides good to know that
the refs are coming both ways today and American with a free kick what a boo finds Joe presnell Smith oliveiri president Richard looking and calling for the through ball a little too much mustard on her Wilson punts it Marion over the top weslowski and here comes Hitler oh and gets a little touch on that excuse me sumala in sumala thanks as that one out of bounds Morgado requesting a ball for his goal kick 210 remaining in the first half he's still a metal up one nothing and for those of you watching our live stream we thank you myself Brady doback alongside Teddy Kuhn here will be bringing you the remainder of this game and stone gets his legs taken out from underneath him it's gonna be a free kick for each long medal foreign with
a big boot and Jake Barlow gets a quick head ball averi Gretchen up the line towards the flag to Richard Richard oh one on one with O'Toole minute remaining Oliveri throw into Richard a little bit tangled up with O'Toole Harrison Smith right over the top waslowski back to help ball spits out to Atkin Atkin can't do much with it ends back up on his foot and Andrew Oliveira with a huge play sumala was flying up the sideline Gretchen with a quick throw in for presnell Jake Barlow steps up just misses presnell tries to get by Barlow and then Barlow AJ Morgado is trying to direct some traffic Richard finds Monroe on the far side wide open Mike Plays it to stone stone a one touch on net and Ben Wilson comes up with a quick
save and will transition quickly the other way minichog with some even numbers at Midfield and Jack marrigan with a great play to stop the momentum and that'll do it for the first half East Longmeadow currently up one nothing the goal scorer Michael Monroe unassisted so far so good Ted uh me slow metal definitely had a little bit of difficulty in the beginning they had a couple offside calls yep um but finally they were able to capitalize using Monroe's speed on the outside but Monroe just doing a great job not giving up on the play following up the ball Wilson obviously a pass back to him and um he couldn't pick it up so Monroe will apply some pressure goes off his shins and freebie right into the net so East Longmeadow looking good they've got
another lead and uh looking to finish this game off get themselves to two wins on the season after the win against East Hampton last night two nothing so we have entered halftime nine minutes remaining we'll see then foreign thank you foreign thank you foreign thank you foreign okay welcome back to East Longmeadow High School we're just about to kick off the second half East Longmeadow is currently up one nothing courtesy of Michael Monroe and his goal and now we are going to I'm going to hand it over to a few special guests joining us this afternoon we have Bridget Jordan from the girls varsity soccer team along with Mia Mecha and they will be taking over for about five or so minutes so enjoy them thanks everyone thanks Brady we're excited to be here for
the second half foreign obviously you've been here for a little while press a little rips a shot on that um you've been here for the first half I assume anybody that stood out to you so far for East Longmeadow um uh Zach Richard with the ball Midfield Bridget's currently trying to catch her breath um having a giggling fit but um all right she's back it's back just under 39 minutes remaining once again if you are joining us you saw metal is currently up one nothing and I have a special guest with me Bridget Jordan Bridget so far obviously you're part of the girls varsity team how have you guys been doing so far this year um we're doing good we started off the season pretty strong just recently we've been having like some difficulty but
hopefully that turns around we have a game tomorrow okay and difficulty in what aspect defensively offensively communication overall like what's the difficulty probably just like communication overall like we're having a hard time like with the final ball on the field like we can't we just can't seem to work together like in the beginning of the season it's just like I don't know frustrating obviously developing that chemistry is very important to the success of a team yes so hopefully as the season progresses you guys will be able to get that chemistry and hopefully make another run as you are um the defending western Mass Champions yes so would love to see that again yes and minneton making their way up field and that ball comes out to subsec and that trickles in and Biggins makes a
big defensive play on Matthew O'Keefe the leading scorer for minute jog so Bridget right now what is your current record I have not checked two two and one okay so a little bit over 500. yeah certainly a good start to the season who have you lost to so far this year um we just lost to Belchertown and then Westfield this past week okay I believe I did hear I think Westfield was a tough loss yeah it was 1-0 those ones are always tough yeah you're minute chalk now trying to create some offense in marrigan Boots the ball out of bounds just around the Midfield mark but it looks like it was deflected off of a miniature player so a throw in for Josh Riley he'll look for Brennan Stone in the Middle Stone tries to
go over the back of weslowski and now a through ball minutog making their way up field quickly Biggins with goalside position on O'Keefe O'Keefe fighting for it mayorgan in to help Biggins again clears it out towards the top of the 18. picked up and sent back in my minnetonk player supsik trying to assist in a rip-on net ends up in the chest of Morgado so obviously Kaylee or Kaylee Bridgette um I believe uh there are some Collegiate players on your team yeah um we have Taylor She's committed to Central Connecticut I believe Central Connecticut I believe that's a division one school right yeah um Kaylee as I mentioned she's I believe still in progress looking for somewhere to go um any plans for your future do you want to pursue soccer in college um definitely
not soccer in college okay um I'm trying to go to college if that's a question Richards with a run up the side and he'll try to get a chip on net and it goes wide right just under 35 minutes remaining well Bridget I thank you for having thank you for coming on today and I hope you enjoyed your time here um Teddy Kuhn should be taking over uh Bridget does say thank you but uh she just can't seem to get it out without laughing so Teddy welcome back good to have you again they're terrible and Ryan Richards going out with O'Keefe Richards one on one with O'Keefe and that ball ends up out of bounds gonna be a minute shock throw in for Alex sleeper up the sideline O'Keefe ball trickles out of bounds O'Keefe
not happy with the call Biggins with a free throw in free slime at all and the near sideline finds Richard Midfield back to Barlow the other Barlow I believe they are brothers weslowski ball stolen from his foot by stone stone looking for help finds Richard the now wide to Oliveri Zach Richard [Music] looking backwards opening up some space Stone we'll get a popper on that those ones are tough to save absolutely Wilson definitely taken off guard by that shot but once again just got to test them Stone doing a good job there had a little bit of space let one fall on net Ben Wilson with a goal kick 32-45 remaining and O'Keefe fighting Biggins chips it up the line Noah done I don't know how he can throw that ball so far yeah Biggins
definitely has quite a cannon speaking of that Dante Bates last year was unbelievable oh yeah he could absolutely launch the ball he could honestly honestly put it from the sideline into the net in the air and it was a very valuable asset for East Longmeadow and and their trip to the state semi-finals last year Jack marrigan with a free kick looking for the far post Monroe chasing it down towards the flag able to capture it and Alex sleeper playing defense Andrew Oliveira with a cup move to the outside he's got plenty of space crosses it into the middle to the top of the 18. the escali looking to get a head ball Biggins shipping it to presnell president goes wide to Richards Ryan Richards uh trying to make a move cut to the middle and
the ball comes off his foot Biggins gets past O'Keefe Richard in the middle up to Monroe Monroe with some great buying position chases down by lots and he scores what's a selly what's this up Michael Monroe with his second goal of the afternoon what a goal once again some hard work for Monroe using his body to get in the way of Barlow beats him just everything great job by Monroe and it ends up in a Spartans goal you're gonna credit Zach Richard with the assist Michael Monroe with the goal islamato up two nothing with 31 minutes remaining and Brennan Stone will be checking out of the game Morgado directing some traffic all the way back in his net Shane Smith how wide to Andrew Oliveri oliverio one on one and he beats them East Long
Middle's got some numbers going the other way passes it to Richard Richard A One Touch bass looking back for Olive area give and go but unable to connect and the ball ends up out of bounds East Longmeadow gold excuse me minute shot goal kick Ben Wilson taking the free kick for minnichog and now we will have a new special guest joining us this afternoon coach Brendan Abad also the health teacher at Eastlawn Middle High School he will be joining us great to have you Brennan thanks for having me man what's going on it's going good uh so far east longmeadow's been having a good game great goal recently by Mike Monroe and uh East Side metal seems to be making their way the other way quickly his second of the game yeah Monroe I mean
on fire he's had three in the past two games so far now what's there what's their overall record overall I believe right now they're one three and one um or one two and one but it's somewhere in there I know they're under 500 currently now who have it lost to um they did lose to Ludlow I believe that was a five nothing game a little bit of a Slaughter there a repeat of the western Mass championship um also lost to Westfield and minute jog trying to fire up Alex sleeper hits the dirt and it's going to end up in a East Longmeadow goal kick now Brady I gotta ask you out of all the sports you you do what's your favorite one um honestly I only really do soccer and football but I'm gonna have
to say soccer because um I guess they're more frequent I do them more frequently um but football it's also it's also a little bit slower I mean I I guess like the ball is always changing um in soccer and um football you know sometimes this is a little bit too much dead air for me so obviously football is awesome to watch can't even you know can't go wrong with football but um Eastlawn metal has been putting on a pretty good shawl the past two games I have been on lcat so probably soccer as of right now well I think we can all we can all say how good of a job you do so keep up keep up the good work man thank you I appreciate that a lot and Oliveri chipset to wretchen Barlow
heads it Mike Monroe settles it down to himself passing it to wretchen Gretchen looking towards the top of the PK area and now soup sick ends up on bigen's foot Monroe a head ball over to Smith making their way up field Chad Santos with the ball sends it up to weslowski and Patsy throws it back to Morgado Morgado his pass goes off the head of Smith a little too much body contact there and he saw metal will have a free kick in their own defensive Zone going the other way Mr a bad any uh people you've seen that have stood out to you on East Longmeadow this season so this is only my my first game I've I've attended but I think so far I like what I see from Zach Richard good to see
him you know be be in the program now and also who else we got out there my yeah Mike's been Mike's been phenomenal with two goals yeah Monroe certainly has a lot of speed up top yeah and he uses it to add his Advantage also kind of a stockier kid so uses his strength and get body position and able to beat a lot of people that way is Mike a two-year three-year Varsity guy what is he I I'm not really sure I think he is a three-year um I know he started last year starting this year so great good definitely been a valuable asset absolutely I have his brother Dave in class and hopefully he follows the same footsteps as uh as his brother hopefully how's the hockey team looking this year hockey team yes
I heard big things from Aidan Nasher yeah Teddy Kuhn the three of us we are the captains this year and uh expecting big things out of um East longmeadows hockey program we're gonna give a shout out to Colin Sherwood Colin we're gonna need you buddy we need you to come play for us um would love you too I believe in all the islamo's history we have never won a hockey western Mass Championship let's make it the first one this year we can change that around and make history but as far as I mean you are the basketball coach so how is East London basketball going to be this year yeah so we'll see we uh we lose six guys from uh from last year's team but that just gives more opportunities from some new guys
to come and play um but we'll see develops um you know she grows physically also mentally as a player so we'll see should be a good season man it's always fun very exciting winter ahead of us menachog making their way downfield Noah Dunn with the ball Crossing it looking far side and it's blocked by Zach Richard and kick sent way over the crossbar Morgado has to chase that one down no ball boy in sight I've heard a lot of complaints as well about the ball boys here at the East Longmeadow Turf uh I guess they're not really doing their jobs and kind of just lingering around um now all those complaints coming from I got I'm curious couple of soccer players yeah okay um the AJ being one of them obviously we'll talk through the
higher ups and get that all they'll figure out oh yeah yeah for sure but uh you know morgato does not like to go retrieve the balls now Brady what sport do you think soccer resembles the most hockey what do you think that's actually a tough one um running wise I would compare it to LaCrosse okay I can see that um obviously a lot of moving parts lots of people on the field Morgado Scoops that one up no problem especially when we talk about the concepts of spacing right cutting moving I think about all kind of all kind of applies to soccer and even even basketball too it all applies Tyler wretchen with the ball he's got some space tries to rip one on and it's blocked by subsec ends up on the foot of McCarthy
and that goes wide in the net 23-45 remain in the second half East Longmeadow up two nothing looking to clench their second win of the season Ben Wilson will be taking the goal kick for minnichog Brady what is your favorite elhs athletic moment your past four years uh oh I mean besides all the hockey moments with uh we've got all the international well yeah I mean there's it would have to be a hockey moment now if it was not a hockey moment I do also play baseball um and my favorite highlight from this past season was actually um I hit a ground rule double at spec Pond against minnichog a one hop over the fence uh right Phil there's a nuke it was a nuke okay but um in one hopped over the fence I
stopped on second base and then the Umpire waved me and said I hit a home run so I love that there we go all four bases and uh recorded my first High School home run what a memory there oh it was awesome tell your kids one day about that absolutely foreign any more else to come to your mind not to get you off track here but uh I'll be honest I don't know that much about soccer at all so that's why I'm trying to get you out of track a little bit um I'm not really sure honestly now relating to myself last year's soccer team had some unbelievable moments I mean the overtime comebacks the PKS it was unbelievable and they're run in the state championship and even in the western Mass unfortunately it's an
end the best for you as they lost the Ludlow in the western Mass Championship but it was it was unbelievable to watch them play and he was such a good group of guys yeah they were they had a lot of chemistry together and even that game they were downwards or four goals they were down by I believe it was yeah four three or four I wasn't at that game but I keep kept hearing about it I wish I was there but I think that team was just like destined for Success absolutely all the seniors they had and I had a couple of guys on on basketball like Luke Mazza and those kids was great kids worked hard and they really earned that definitely some we do have some veterans still on this team so hopefully
their leadership will kind of shape all the underclassmen we got to get our guide Gus back absolutely yeah Mazza suffering an injury last night to his leg and is unable to play today and a great play there by Patsy diascoli A sly tackle to prevent minnichog from entering into the attacking Zone and here comes wretchen working with Richard what a pass Richard back to wretchen and he can't catch up to it on the sideline and it flows Straight Out of Bounds minute chalk throwing Ben Wilson with the ball and he'll launch it towards Midfield where it ends up on the foot of Cam ice a Brady did you ever play soccer what's your soccer background at all I did I actually played for about close to 10 years I'd say um but once fall hockey
I kind of got into that and especially are special specializing in that started too yeah started to interfere with if I wanted to play in high school I do miss soccer a lot I do miss the games um miss my teammates it was a lot of fun back in the day when I played in middle school and um definitely would love to just I don't know I'd pay a lot of money to just go play one more game but uh now how much money would you pay a couple hundred dollars honestly for talking reality here um yeah Club College yeah College I mean a producer told us about that in the club College yeah I did retire but uh I guess I could shake the dust off the cleats get back in the game trade
the skates in for the cleats yes Harrison with a quick shot on that and Morgado Scoops that one hopper up and settles his team telling them to make their way up field and he sends one Sky High a moon ball yeah Moon ball there not too much distance on it lands short of the half and free kick here for minnichog Zach Richard getting in the way a little bit causing Barlow to hesitate and now soup sick will reset and take the free kick great sight to see with the game today I thought the games were going to postpone early on the morning look look uh not too Pleasant outside it's like a completely different day right oh absolutely it's like I don't know someone hit a light switch down pouring earlier this morning and uh
for up until about three o'clock-ish yeah um overcast and now it's absolutely gorgeous out 60 degrees beautiful fall weather can't beat it now kind of previewing hockey a little more um how are you how are your top guys looking how's Aidan Asher looking how's Teddy uh K looking what's what's the scattering report looking like on yeah absolutely I mean obviously these guys are my teammates so uh they're my line mates they gotta hype them up as much as possible but uh definitely got to get some we got some work to do yeah let's get on the ice and uh get some chemistry going early that way we can jump right into things I went a couple games last year and and I was surprised at a quick Teddy and and uh Aiden are you know
yeah I got a lot of speed I've seen those two guys in the hall you know they don't move that fast to class but they move fast in the ice so it's uh it's it's funny to see yeah yeah they certainly are uh very kind of uh lackadaisical in the hallways when it comes to the books but uh but you put a puck in front of them they're go go hey that's good we'll take that we'll take that but um anyone else you look forward to seeing this year or taking big steps I mean definitely a lot of positions to fill um we got a young team um for hockey and uh definitely need some people to step up this year now last year good eighth graders play was that the rule uh last year
we did not do that because of um our coach likes to uh he likes to yell a little bit and he thought that he didn't want to scare off the eighth grade right there so yeah I feel that so before they even entered high school he didn't want to scare him off so uh we decided not to do that last year how many years has coach uh Reed been been coaching hockey team for he has been I mean yeah like 26 years he's been there for a long time wow um coach some of the opposing high schools coaches okay um so yeah he does a great job with your program and great job with the field hockey program yeah very dedicated you can tell he's passionate about it puts a lot of time into it
yeah we definitely would love to win him one as he has never won one before so would feel good yeah now who do you have in Gold this year this year Well goalies this year uh Patrick McGillicuddy and own read but um definitely looking to hopefully grab Colin Sherwood who would be a senior was did he play last year he did not know I believe he's playing uh Springfield picks club team so I wonder why do kids do that as opposed to playing the high school team is it like a recruiting pitch thing or yeah more so recruiting um you know if you play Premiere Hockey League you know get you a little bit more looks Morgado has come out of the net on that one and never never really much of a hockey guy
man to be honest I played learner skate when I was a kid but that was a yeah hockey definitely a great sport but never really got into basketball it's okay so I can't I can't I can't be on me yeah I can't be on the same page as you there but that's right that's why we're calling soccer right that's why we're both calling soccer Mutual Nick Bradley racing up the far sideline he's got some space looking for Monroe Monroe cuts inside the Box get a third golden Knight we'll see back to Bradley well here we go oh close look I believe that's McLaughlin he scored he scored last night right I believe so oh a tough one there yeah that is Joe mcloggen and he had a wide open net just couldn't quite bury it
but he's certainly stepping up in his role as a freshman yeah it speaks highly of the player you are as a freshman a good meaningful Varsity minutes absolutely they have a couple on their team right here right a couple freshmen players yeah they do uh definitely some younger guys freshman and sophomore Shane McCarthy um I believe Luke Lucas shabelli I think she's in Shea she's a sophomore right yes McCarthy and obviously mcloggen yeah Harrison with the ball at Midfield Biggins chips it back up and Jake Barlow gets a header on it and it spits out to Bryce Barlow and Josh Riley contesting on the sideline Barlow jammed up by Patsy diascali a great play there Mike Monroe a nice back check on Barlow prevents him from getting a clean foot on it and now the
balls splits the D ends up on sup sex I'm definitely butchering the name sup six foot my apologies these guys have to be gassed by running all down the field so many times I know soccer guys do it it's tough Joe president with the ball in Midfield looking for an open teammate he'll find Bradley Bradley back to Riley and Riley will throw it to the middle of the field nobody home Monroe got some numbers signs Joe McLaughlin and Harrison makes a good defensive play to break it up and that ball goes out of bounds it's gonna result in an East long metal corner kick so another offensive opportunity for East Longmeadow to capitalize here some subs coming in for East Longmeadow Zach Richard will be placing Shane Smith and Tyler wretchen also entering the game
[Applause] replacing Jill mcloggen Joe president will be taking the corner shout out to Mr Smith cracking me up up here I guess that inside the park hormone was legendary I I guess so yeah it was not inside the park it was a one hop and I stopped on second base so now I think our producer's telling us as a top five moment in Hellcat history right oh absolutely and the legal throw I believe it's gonna be a minute chalk throw in now thank you for joining us today on our live stream this is our first soccer live stream of the season and hopefully we'll be able to bring you many more we know sometimes you might be busy just need a quick lcap rake Monroe trying to direct some defensive traffic big kick and he'll
Step Up with Barlow and subsec firing the muscle there big body check and that ball goes out of bounds yeah I like the like the uh the assertiveness there right we like that I guess he was getting a little uh he wanted some action and he's certainly has some words I'm not sure for you but uh probably just directing traffic hopefully I think he's just saying we love each other high school he said hopefully that's what he said Riley stepping up and the ball goes off of him Ryan Atkin to retrieve gives it back to sepsick and his throw in ends up on the photo weslowski to the middle to barkiom soup sick sends it inside chased down here's AJ and Morgado again coming up with a save 10 45 remaining in the second half
of the game East Longmeadow still up two nothing the moon ball Mike Monroe chasing it down trying to get his third oh nope thank you Monroe with both goals this afternoon another sub checking into the game for East Long medal number five Andrew Oliveira we're replacing number 14 Josh Riley islamedo does have a football game tomorrow night um we're gonna go 3-0 yeah hopefully I know yeah I will be calling that game um so if we are going live which we will be tomorrow night at seven o'clock I will be calling that game so feel free to join us if you cannot attend just throw it on in your household and your comfort or your own home either on the TV or you can just listen to my an annoying voice for a little bit
we call the game with Brady um that I'm not sure Chad O'Brien is kind of my go-to guy but uh not sure he likes to be in the student section for the football game so he's not a hockey guy right yes he is so perhaps him but if not well so be it looking to go through no first time probably in a while I don't think they went 3-0 last year were they what was the record last of the football team yeah um that'd be a I'm not sure if they want like 500 maybe they might have been four and four or three and five somewhere around that area but um yeah hopefully they can go um 3-0 I mean they've been absolutely dominating the past two games it looks like a lot of guys
stepping up absolutely yeah yeah they won 50 nothing their first game of the season and then their home opener here most recently 56-nothing so two shutouts rolling keep going 106 points scored ball at Midfield Monroe and Richard playing patty cake ball spits back out wide and here comes Bradley and he'll be contested by supsik Joe presnell creates some space for himself to Richard Richard tries to chip it looking for Monroe in the middle Ben Wilson steps up to grab it Patsy diascoli can't seem to get it up field minnichog making their way Ben Biggins there to assist and he'll send it up to wretch and wretchen settles it down with his heel a lot of young guys playing here a lot of young guys playing Brady he's good yes it is a lot of young
guys a lot of young guys Cassie the sophomore what else we got there Gretchen's a softball right I believe so yeah all these guys underclassmen the future's looking bright against a very much older miniature team minute chog only has three underclassmen on their team so much older and experienced minnichog Falcons team in in Eastlawn metal is just showing it's just showing the grit that they have today especially in the past two games I think a challenge too coming into the season was you know that standard of they made to the final four in the states right like that's that's a hard hard thing to match up to so they're they're playing well so far absolutely but obviously this is a brand new team and it was a lot of fun last year but they've got
a new uh We've Got a New Journey to partake in and new story to write so hopefully they can replicate it but minute Chuck making their way off field and that one is shut down by Andrew Oliveri should end up in a minute chog corner kick and now I believe the ball boys are just completely absent they have left the playing field now what's one rule change you would make to soccer if you could make a rule change what's that with one rule change you make the soccer or with the way the game's structured if you couldn't make one change oh that's enhancing that is that is a tough one I'm gonna have to uh let that one marinate for a little while um I guess the how about the flapping I mean obviously you
don't see it as much in in high school but in the pros especially I mean these guys they just they get a pinky push down yeah they're down for five oh yeah yeah so and then they but then but then when the card comes out they're all good you know let me throw an idea at you ready here we go this is my idea two less players in the field and make the field a little smaller maybe more goal scorer who knows this is my that's my my thought yeah great yeah I don't know I always think about it would be interesting yeah like indoors yeah I kind of kind of like indoor yeah you got hockey if I could make one change to hockey I think make it a little bigger a little wider
total opposite that's what I think okay so a little bit of I think they do have obviously there's two types of rings you got the NHL rings then you got the Olympic size ring Olympic is a little bit wider a little bit longer so um those aren't very common but they do exist so um a lot of practice ranks are those wider okay and you guys do your home games as Olympia correct yes Olympia Ice Arena big season coming up for the guys big season looking forward to that looking forward to it Mr a bad certainly a I'm the hockey hype guy big hype guy Sam Hanley with the ball in the far Corner passing it up to Shane Smith sputter's out towards the PK Mark and O'Toole Andrew Oliveri and there's me whistle another
East Longmeadow free kick got a lot of those today so far we are now into the hot table final five table final five love it Eastlawn metal up two nothing now uh why are we going with a Hot Table why am I going with you know friendlies McDonald's yeah they they get enough you know I don't need no friendlies McDonald's hot tables are good family-owned business plus I work there so great paninis great paninis good save diascali able to recover and he'll clear it out of bounds should be a minute chog corner kick four minutes remaining El up two nothing now uh Brady last random question from for me of a game here but one guy from soccer you can recruit to hockey and why I ain't gonna have to be Mike Monroe he's just
yeah okay he's just aggressiveness aggressive fast um stocky I mean and I think he's good friends with with you know Teddy you and uh yeah definitely definitely helped that culture lit up a little bit for sure yeah I can see that I could see Zach too retro I feel like he could he could you know get some get some some stick on the yeah absolutely make a difference love to see him get on the ice at some point a little pond hockey action yeah yeah Monroe not when I counted the pot lucky though we're talking you know get you guys at Western Mass uh Championship here let's recruit owl crew Zach we got Mike Monroe with a cutback moving he's pushed from the back blatantly bio tool another free kick here and he's a little
slow to get up but and he's a little shaken up on the play but he'll Slide the shin guard back in and he's back up on his feet checking his looks to be his hip somewhere on the upper left leg 250 remaining free kick here from East Longmeadow just outside the 18 box Zach Richard will be taking the kick Ben Wilson directing traffic Richard rips one just over the crossbar that was a cannon what a kick there big boot he would be a heck of a field goal clicker there huh manicha quick in transition and there's gonna be another foul around Midfield yeah I believe our current kicker got up used to be a soccer player so you make great kickers right absolutely honors American going the far post looking for Hanley and it's a
little Out Of Reach and Ben Wilson will have a free kick now Brady as this game uh comes down to the wire here once again man you do a great job here for for El Cap another I appreciate that we gotta make sure you uh do some some basketball games this year and will definitely be supporting the hockey team as well would love to absolutely love to I'm just following uh speaking of you know we were talking earlier a little bit about falling in footsteps and obviously my brother dobeck the former voice of the Spartans well still the voice of the Spartans but uh it's yeah it's close he's moved on to uh bigger and better things up at UMass Amherst and uh he's doing uh UMass hockey basketball football softball baseball pretty much all
the sports um but he's loving in hopefully he's he'll be able to make a professional career out of it as uh that would be his dream Monroe for checking again and Wilson taking no chances and he's just gonna rip that one out of bounds Monroe already capitalizing on a mistake from Wilson earlier in the game and resulting in an Eastlawn metal goal a Brady Devin doeback wouldn't be a bad combo for a game actually the Thanksgiving game last year if we could humbled down a little bit well we'll bring him back for a game Wilson ripping it up field quickly 30 seconds remaining in the game Jack marrigan in a tussle and O'Keefe running up the sideline passes out to retchen Gretchen getting chased down by weslowski ends up on the foot 15 seconds here
to pull out the W here Ben Biggins passing it back out to retchen Zach Richard we'll clear it up and that'll do it for the game East long metal clinching their second win of the Season against minnetonk another shutout for AJ Morgado back to back for him two nothing win and East Longmeadow is I'll tell you they are headed in the right direction right now they're definitely getting a lot more chemistry um they're playing more as a team a lot better communication and um great ball movement great speed out there what a game for uh Mike Monroe huh yeah Monroe with another a two goal game uh big leader big part of this team using his speed using his body his athleticness to get up the field and Morgado once again with another shutout great
job from him good to see it getting his confidence up yep and I'm really looking forward to seeing what East Longmeadow has in the next few weeks hopefully those younger kids we get up to speed a little more right you get more game experience in and they keep uh keep the ball rolling here no pun intended right absolutely so thank you for joining us here today at East Longmeadow High School I'm Brady doback joined alongside the one and only Mr Brennan Abad thank you very much from all of us here at lcat have a great night
