001All right, I'm going to call the meeting to order. Dave, if you'd like to do roll call for us, please. >> Certainly. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all. >> Board of Education guidelines with an open mind will establish an atmosphere that allows expression of all views even when views are not in line with all members being respectful of time. We'll work collaboratively with the district administrator by having open and honest conversations around district priorities. We'll work collaboratively with all
002stakeholders and monitor key indicators so that equitable teaching and learning results in high achievement. We work toward building a trusting environment where both students and staff can reach their full potential and celebrate successes in academics, the arts, and athletics. Public comments. During the public comment period of the agenda, the board welcomes comments from the public on any item not on the agenda. Please know that pursuant to state law, the board cannot engage in conversation with you, but may ask questions. The board may refer the item to staff, a standing committee, or a future agenda for discussion and action. Each person wishing to speak will have up to three minutes to speak. Speakers are asked to provide their name and address and topic for discussion. Um, and with the crowd tonight, remember it is three minutes.
003We will be keeping track of that. Uh so with that being said, do we have any public comments tonight? >> I would like to speak for three minutes. >> Sure. Go ahead. >> Um can I have a mic so the people in the back could hear me? I think it's very important what I have to say. >> Yeah, there's a mic right here. >> Um You want to get it, Gordon? Bring it over to >> you want to sit on it. >> There's no speakers. >> It's just coming straight to this camera. The people in the back said they can hear you. >> They can hear it. >> Hear you? Yeah. >> I would like to address this letter to the Nusa Board of Education. Uh dear board members, I am writing this letter to
004you with great care and much concern for our Nakusa schools. In this particular incident, our Nakusa wrestling program. Two very dedicated and educated wrestling coaches were fired. Mr. Scott Thurber and Miss Brooke Thurber, men and women's head coaches. My question is why these coaches there has been no reason given that would hold credence. various coaches are of great value to our wrestling program. Do you not realize that a change for the sake of change is never about making a situation better almost always it goes in the wrong direction. Mr. Scott Thurber was our head coach for 22 years. Then he was an assistant to Dale Green for a number of years. The program has always and always has gotten stronger and better with each passing year. Explain how this could be caused for a firing.
005Miss Brook Thurber was responsible for bringing the women's work wrestling program into existence, making young women to believe in themselves. This is not now a very strong program that has increased in numbers. How could this success be a cause to be fired? Where are the goals at Nusa schools for care and concern? Being a taxpayer, I do not agree with your firing and only to find your decisions to be very very unprofessional. sincerely a voting taxpayer, Elizabeth Mickey Freeman. Thank you. >> Thank you, Elizabeth. Do we have any other public comments tonight? I would have to admit sorry to public speaker. I kind of emotional when um saw something in my daughter Vanessa when she told her to go out to the wrestling team. I was initially against it. I didn't know she was the
006wrestling boys. That wasn't a part of our family, you know. uh not wrestling boys part of a family but I make wrestling in general. My girls have always been cheered, you know, very girly and that was a whole new thing to me. I was hesitant at first and then seeing the um the teachings that got Vanessa I'm doing she blossomed in that sport. um kind of a sense of confidence um just enjoyed it and as her parents we did as well. That was a whole new um area that they had not explored. So um second year they got Rebecca into it. um they enjoyed it immensely and I can see how um the boys and the girls team um have grown with them as their coaches. And as a parent, I kind of just feel
007like the rug got thrown out or pulled out from underneath us. And my girls who are not able to be here tonight because of work um felt the same way. They were beyond devastated. um didn't have an inkling, didn't see that anything was going wrong. Um I know there was some kind of an investigation. As a parent, I feel if something was so wrong, how none [clears throat] or all the parents didn't know about it. I feel like maybe if you involve the athletes and the parents, it there could have been a little more of transparency. Um, you're going into now seniors coming into their last year and not having the coach, some of the coaches who were there, which is as adults maybe we forget how important that is and not having an inkling
008not being able to say goodbye and their last year. And I hope that you had a very good reason because as a parent looking out, I don't see it. And if it it was a problem with the girls, why wasn't it addressed as a girls? Why wasn't it maybe >> try to um figure it out? As these kids go into the workplace, you can't be quitting your job because you don't like somebody unless you are that fortunate to. I have co-workers who I may not get along with, but it's your job. So, are we teaching then our kids that every time they like something, you know, you're not going to figure it out? That I'm sorry, it may not be making sense, but it just seems like instead of having them work through or coming
009together and finding a way to have come to a conclusion that was not firing two coaches who have been there forever, have who have done so much for the athletes outside of the school. >> Thank you. But your three minutes are up. We appreciate it. >> Thank you. >> Uh more public comments tonight. >> Um I'm Lynon Ash. I live here down Avenue. Um [clears throat] I did sports here at Makusa all through my my four years of high school. And I think uh anytime there's a fire in a coach, particularly two coaches at the same time, there should be some kind of transparency to to the community, especially when it involves both teams of what actually happened between the boys team and the girls team. I mean, it seems awful suspicious on my manner
010as far as not hearing anything about either one of the teams and that they had progressed through their years as a as teams go. Um, so I don't I don't understand why somebody nor less both coaches got fired when the when the teams were progressing and that the leadership to the students and on behalf of the students. I like to hear from the students of what all they feel because I mean it's like she said it seems like sort of a you the rug was pulled out from their feet and I can only imagine how they feel. Thank you, Linda. >> Uh, any more public comments? >> Yeah. >> All right. I'm going to apologize in advance because I hate public speaking. I like to talk just not in front of this many people and
011I'm very emotional about the subject. So, if I cry, not apologize. Sorry, not sorry in advance. My name is Don Hon and I'm the parent incoming freshman who is very excited to join the NHS wrestling program. He's been wrestling for Nakusa in the youth program since he was four years old and most recently participated in the middle school program. My younger son has also wrestled for Nakusa for the past seven years. I myself served on the NASUSA youth wrestling board for four years. So when I say that our family has been eaten, breathed and slept nusa wrestling for the past 11 years, I'm not exaggerating. I'm here tonight to express my support for coach Thurber and to as the board take another look at the decision to let him go. [clears throat] He's not only
012been a part of the high school wrestling team, but has also showed up for many middle school and youth tournaments as well as wrestling community events. He's made a huge impact on the acoustus wrestling community as a whole. Through everything I've seen and heard, coach was more than just a coach, both coach, not just referring to Scott. He pushed students to work hard, show discipline, and believe in themselves both on and off the mat. Did this for all of my children, even when they were younger, and in the youth program. truly cares about them as individuals and wanted to help them become better wrestlers even if they were nowhere near the high school age. My daughter flourished in high school wrestling under the direction of both coach servers and even considered wrestling in college with
013the encouragement of her beloved coaches. She was about to give up wrestling after middle school and I convinced her to give it one more year at the high school level. She did and then gave it her all. She went to state now has a growing interest in helping, supporting and even coaching not only her younger peers but also the future of Nakuza wrestling. I would say this is a huge win coming from someone that wanted to quit after middle school. For many of these young women men, wrestling under coach was more than a sport. It was a safe place to grow, to learn accountability, and to feel part of a team that truly cared about each other like family. What concerns me most is that this decision appears to have been made without full transparency
014or consideration of how deeply Coach Thurber impacted his athletes and his community. And I'm going to add to that. I feel like it wasn't full transparency to people that have put their blood, sweat, and tears into the Nucusa wrestling program for the last 11 years or more. As a parent, I want my child to be part of a program led by someone who values integrity, effort, and respect, and Coach Liver exemplifies those qualities. I understand that schools face difficult personnel decisions, but when a coach has earned the respect and trust of students and families alike, that deserves careful reflection. I hope the board will take the time to review what happened, listen to the voices of students and parents, and ensure that any decision made is truly fair and in the best interest of the
015kids. At the end of the day, this isn't just about one coach or two coaches. It's about the kind of program and culture we want to build for our students. Coach Thur helped build something positive, and I believe they deserve a fair chance to continue that work. Thank you for your time and for your commitment to our students and community. >> Thank you, Don. Uh, any more public comments? I think I saw Yep. Go ahead. Um, my name is Roberto Alita. Um, kind of with people talking for Scott here. Scott once assisted me in coaching my son at a tournament. Rather than taking over completely and coaching, he asked me what my son likes to do in his matches. I like that he wanted to know my son's um, how my son wrestled. That told
016me he is open to different styles of wrestling. That is a great quality to have in a coach. Too often coaches want their wrestlers to only wrestle the way they coach. Scott is different. He will talk to the wrestler and find out how they wrestle so he can give them tips and training to enhance their personal style. I like that individualized approach Scott has with his wrestlers. He has also shown up to many different tournaments meet practices just to see how these younger wrestlers were doing and work with them for work with them for youth state prep. that shows how much he cares about wrestling and the future of this sport. I'll end by saying I was and still am excited to see my son Russell under the guidance of coach Scott. >> Thank you.
017Any more public comments? >> I am here today to voice my concerns with the NHS wrestling coach situation. Not only were the coaches blindsided by the decision, but many parents and their kids were also blindsided. To say the program needs to be taken in a different direction simply baffles me. The wrestling program took both boys and girls conference titles last year. It wasn't an easy feat. It took all hands on deck. Hands that wouldn't have been there if it weren't for the Thervers. When you think Nusa wrestling, you automatically think. The Therber name has been synonymous with Nucusa wrestling and for a very good reason. I have had kids in various levels of the Nucus wrestling program for 10 years. 10. Five years ago, my oldest was ready to walk away from the wrestling world
018after her eighth grade season, much like my son is now. I pleaded with her to give it just one more chance, one more mascot, to see how things would go where her heart truly was. It didn't take long and she was back in it. The Therberts gave her her heart back. She was the lone girl on the freshman team. With Scott by her side, she continued to wrestle all four years through high school, made it to state, and is now wrestling at WSP under the NCAA program. That is why she is not here tonight to support. She has obligations. I didn't come here to knock down the coaches that are supposed to be taking over. I am just curious how taking the program in a different direction means cut out the K Thurbers but continue
019on with others that were under their name. A clear-cut new program director would need a complete refresh, would it not? But as I said, I didn't come here to knock down or badmouth those who are set to take over. I'm here to fight for the person who took my oldest child to the next level. I'm here to fight for the person who goes above and beyond in the world of wrestling, the role of Nusa wrestling to build relationships and gain trust. The Thurber don't just focus on NHS. They focus on all Nusa wrestling with the Matt Becker program and by coming to many middle school and youth programs and events. My younger two kids now in sixth and eighth grade know the Thurber very well and have been looking forward to their turn to have
020the Thurber tulage. Scott doesn't just know Ian, my eighth grader and the wrestler. He knows about his fishing, his football, and his general life. He knows about Pit. [snorts] She's a sensitive little beast and loves horror movies. Those are things that you just can't replace in coaching. My son has been coached by the same coaches the last four plus years. My daughter, my daughter also had those coaches. I'm not saying it's bad because it's not, but it also is at a standstill. Kids grow and learn from new experiences and new coaches and new coaching styles. Scott has proven time and again he isn't just in the program for specific kids or specific styles. He coaches each child individually. He listens. He helps them. I know that is why my kids have been looking forward to
021Scott's coaching and why am I love both Scott and Brooke so much. >> Thank you. But your three minutes are up. >> Uh any more public comments for tonight? Hi, my name is Lover. I'm currently in eighth grade. I'm here because I have my concerns for recent fire. I've been wrestling since kinderg I wasn't sure where I would be. I decided to try anywhere since then I had the same thing and while I am thankful for him I don't know that I will continue to learn things I'm not just wrestler I have different feelings. Coach knows that and those interesting different competition stood by my side helped me calm down. He's helped me even without for high school wrestling for a couple years now after listening to my older sisters and telling her stories her
022expectations as well as the stories from other NHS Scott's I don't know what would be my first choice. I [clears throat] need to I need and want to know I dislike my old coaches. I don't dislike my old coaches but I do not feel about them. I can only learn so much from one coach and my timeach but it won't be if he takes a position in the wrestling that is import >> thank you Ian uh any other public comments Hi, my name is Al and I was looking forward to Scott's individualization. He has been through past meets past trans. I've also been looking forward to a fresh experience as a high school wrestler and having really helped me with that experience. Has taught me a better wrestler than I have been before. And having
023Scott there was more of a comfort decision. He has through the toughest times for us and >> thank you Phoenix. Uh any more public comments [snorts] for tonight? My name is Jameson Clark. I'm an incoming freshman at I've been training wrestling for nine years and I was really looking forward continuing my growth under coach. I'm here tonight because I believe coach and I want to share how much students. Coach Thurbert is more than just a coach. He's a mentor, role model, someone who truly believes in every single student. I've seen him teach discipline, respect, perseverance outside, but how to withte. When I heard he was let go, I was shocked and honestly heartbroken. Many of us were we don't know how all the details behind the decision but we do know it was a time
024and person who students stay motivated focused I'm only a freshman but I know how important it is that teachers and leaders stand up for what's I'm asking the boardfully listening to students learn. >> Thank you, Jameson. >> Uh, any more public comments? So, I just kind of wanted to speak a bit on the personalities. Um, I started wrestling late in sixth grade, kind of behind everyone. Me and I want to say two other girls were on the wrestling team when we first started, so it wasn't totally popular like it is now. Um, I remember not having someone to look up to as a female wrestler. I wasn't aware of anyone that was an Olympic wrestler or anything. And if you know my mom, she's a very stubborn lady and she actually reached out to the
025Thurber family because she knew was a wrestler and she was like, "Can you come work with Shay?" Um, she just wants a little guidance and it's important for young women to have someone to look up to, not only in um sports, but academically wise, both of the coaches, they held us to a standard and it wasn't just for our sports, it was also for our academics. They made sure every Wednesday that if we needed extra help, they would be there early to help us. Um, they provided us extra resources, too. They talked with our teachers to make sure we were getting our grades up so we could participate in those duels that were Tuesdays and Thursdays, and we had extracurriculars on Saturdays as well. But they made sure that our schooling was one of the
026most important things. And I think that we should look at them as a whole person and not just the name behind them. It's important to realize that it's not just the Thurber family. They're people. They have more to them than what is being told out there. And I think that internally we should all just kind of reflect on that and make the best decision we think for the school and the kids, not just those biases we have towards them. Thank you. >> Thank you, Shay. Uh any more public comments? >> Oh. Go ahead. >> For those of you who don't know me, my name is Gordy Freeman. Um, the year is 1961 and I'm running laps warming up at basketball practice. There's some new hoodlums up on the stage that we had to share the
027practice room and the coaches up there. Every time I circle, he said, "Freeman, you belong up here." I got angry and I went and talked to our basketball coach. I said, "That coach keeps bothering me every time I run laps. He wants me to practice wrestling. I said, "Uh, can't you make him stop?" He said, "Freeman, you should give it a try. I think you'd be good at it." I said, "Oh, boy." I was mad at him. So I uh thought, well, wait until I go home and tell mom and dad about this. So I did. That night I went home. I said, you know, the wrestling coach here, it's brand new sport. He keeps bothering me at basketball practice. My dad says, "You should give it a try, Gordy. I think you'd be good
028at it. I'm completely at a loss. I have no place to go now." You know, so they're up on the stage sitting with books and looking at them and learning the sport. This is the first year of wrestling at Nakusa High School, but it isn't long and there's a match coming. The very first match, 1961, it was Richland Center. We got trimmed up really bad, but I won. And I was wrestling a guy that was 20 pounds bigger than me. and one other of our guys won. So, that was off and running for me. It uh took on a life of its own from that point on. I've uh this will be my 55th consecutive year going to the state tournament. I've been the president of the wrestling club here in Nusa. I've had so
029much fun with the sport. Uh have grandb babies now on the mat wrestling at state. I've known the two coaches in question since they were little bitty babies. They're not people to be fired, is it? that that's not the correct terminology. If you want to head a different direction, okay, but that really needs to change, you know, and I know all of you and most of you know me too, you know, and uh but uh I hope we can get 55 more years out of the program [clears throat] for Nusa back at state. But I know the two people involved here. They're better than that. Please don't do this. >> Thank you. Go. >> Thank you. >> I think there was another public comment. >> No. Um, I'm Abby Clark and I want to start
030by saying taking Thervers out of wrestling is like taking Peter Paper Maker out in the Cusa. It just rips a part of who we are out of it. Um, they're not just coaches, they're the heart of this program and a family that gives 10 times more than almost anyone else in the community. Um, they lead with strength, independence, accountability. These are values we want for our kids to carry on. So when are we showing them? It is heartbreaking and frankly disgraceful to see how they're being treated. I never thought I'd see such they were some of the hardest working selfish most selfless people in our community are shown such disrespect. What kind of message does that send to our kids? The dedication, integrity, and moral character just don't matter. The thers show up every single
031day, every meat for every child, and they're the first to arrive and the last to leave. They go above and beyond, even making homemade, healthy meals for our kids. And they do this out of pure kindness. Can anyone else name a coach who pours that much heart into their athletes? This community deserves answers. and we're going in a different direction is not a reason and it's not acceptable. It's a dismissal. The people in Nusa and especially the youth athletes all look up to the Thervers. They deserve honesty, respect, and accountability. We deserve better and so do they. >> Thank you, Abby. >> Uh, next public comments. Good evening, members of the board, superintendent, staff, and community members. My name is Stacy Clark, and I'm here tonight. The serious injustice has occurred with our school district.
032The wrongful termination of Scott and Brook. These coaches were not dedicate. These coaches were not only dedicated coaches, but people who consistently went above and beyond for our athletes. Over their years here, they earned the respect of parents, students, and peers alike. Yet, despite their record, they were terminated under circumstances that raised serious questions about fairness, transparency, and due process. There [clears throat] was no opportunity for them to respond before the decision was made. And to do that the day before season signup work was just not right. Their family worked many hours for this upcoming season prior to this res prior to them getting hired. This decision doesn't just affect one person. It sends a chilling message to every coach in our district. If a person with their record and commitment can be dismissed without
033a fair process, what does that have to say about how we value our coaches? I'm asking this board to take a hard look at what happened, review the facts, reconsider the decision, ensure that our district upholds principles of fairness, respect, and integrity. They deserve to have their reputation restored, and our district deserves leadership that makes decisions based on truth, not convenience or politics. As of yesterday, our youth signups was at five youth wrestler youth wrestlers. Compared to last year, that number is dramatically low. We need to have coaches who are dedicated to helping our children grow. When one of them is treated unjustly, it harms all of us. I urge this board to make it right. Thank you. >> Thank you, Stacy. Uh, any more public comments tonight? Um, I'm Vanessa and I'm a current
034wrestler. Um, okay. I'd like to say that whip server has shown so many girls, the sport of wrestling. I did not wrestle until my freshman year and I was very scared. But Brook was adamant and persistent that I try something new. She doesn't just care for if you want to try, she cares for you. um for your physical and mental health as well in the sport. She likes to push you to do better for yourself and she cares for you as an athlete and a student. She cares about your grades. She teaches you how to be um strong and be a good person and a good student. She teaches you reliability. She teaches you grit. She teaches you so many life skills that don't even have to do with wrestling. She cares for all of
035her athletes and what happens for their future. She is so much more than just a wrestling coach to many of us. And a lot of our numbers for the girls team have gone down since she's left. And she I don't think that there the team will ever be the same without Brooker. She is what made us the team that we are now and why we have a girls wrestling team to begin with. So, I think we should really reconsider what you guys want our future to be for the program. >> Thank you, Vanessa. >> Did we have any more public comments tonight? >> I'm good. >> Excuse me. Scott Thurber here. I've dedicated myself to the sport of wrestling and the development of student athletes on and off the mat. My coaching journey is marked
036by competitive success, academic excellence, and unwavering community involvement. I've coached 64 individual conference champions, 32 state qualifiers, and 16 individual state place winners. Uh we've continued to grow the program over the years. I annually attend the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association clinic. also hold a USA wrestling leadership membership. I've been a lifelong supporter of the youth wrestling since I've graduated high school here in Nusa. I continue to promote wrestling through community events like the homecoming parade and pumpkin fest. I believe coaching is about preparing students for life after high school. It's not just about success on the mat. I've supported athletes in pursuing college, trade schools, and workforce opportunities. I've helped reject rejected a college athletes gain admission to outreach to college coaches and athletic directors. I've also proudly supported a state place winner become an
037NCAA champion. I graduated from YUSA. At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. It's about preparing preparing our student athletes for life. Thank you for all Thank you to all the past and present athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators that have reached out and continue to support me [clears throat] from across the United States, from Arizona all the way to Florida. I've heard from many past athletes and parents continue to live the championship lifestyle. God bless and thank you. >> Thank you, Scott. Uh, I did see another person stand up. >> I'm Brook Therber to the Nusa School Board district administration and community members. Enough is enough. Over the past weeks, both I and members of my family have been the targets of false accusations, malicious gossip, and coordinated rumor spreading from
038individuals within the community, including some with close ties to district leadership and even members of the school board. These actions are not only disgraceful, they are deeply harmful and entirely unprofessional. Let me be perfectly clear. Personal attacks and fabricated stories are not a substitute for the truth or accountability. When people resort to lies, it's because they have no legitimate defense for their behavior. Rather than addressing the real issues, unethical leadership, toxic culture, and political interference in our schools, some have chosen to deflect attention by smearing those who speak up. The fact that certain schoolboard members and district leaders have allowed and in some cases encouraged this behavior is appalling. Their duty is to serve students, staff, and the community with integrity, not to weaponize hum rumors or protect personal egos. [snorts] This is not leadership.
039It is cowardice. The community should understand what's really happening. False narratives are being pushed to discredit anyone who dares to challenge the district's dysfunction. Staff and families are being divided by fear and misinformation. And instead of focusing on students, district leadership is expending energy on damage control and personal vendettas. This behavior does not just harm those directly targeted. It poisons the entire community. It drives away good educators that want to come to this town. It discourages parents from wanting to speak up and teaches students the worst possible lesson that adults in power can lie, bully by the leadership can happen, and manipulate without consequence. It's time for accountability. Schoolboard members and district administrators who participate in, enable, or ignore this behavior should be held responsible for the damage they are causing. The public deserves transparency,
040not gossip. They deserve ethical leadership, not political games. and to the individual spreading lies about my family and me. Your words do not define us. They reveal who you are and the kind of character you choose to live by. I will not be intimidated into silence anymore. And I will continue to speak truthfully and directly about what is happening within this district. Nucusa really deserves better. Our students deserve better. The teachers deserve better. And this community deserves a leadership that acts with integrity and not in security. Thank you. >> Thank you, Brooke. Any other public comments? I'll speak to the Nucusa School Board, district leadership, and members of this community. It's time to speak plainly. The Nusa School District has developed a pattern of behavior that can no longer be ignored or disguised by polish
041statements and public relations spins. The ongoing dishonesty, political maneuvering, and mistreatment of staff has created an environment of fear, mistrust, instability, one that is eroding the very foundation of our schools and our community's confidence. Staff members are being let go without just cause often for reasons rooted not in performance but in politics, favoritism and personal agendas. These decisions are being made behind closed doors without transparency and without accountability. The message this sends to the remaining staff is loud and clear. Loyalty to leadership matters more than integrity. professionalism or the best interest of our students. This culture of control and intimidation does not go unnoticed. It spreads quickly through the classrooms, through the hallways, through the community. The damage is not abstract. It is real and it is measurable. Talented teachers are leaving. Moral is at
042an all-time low with your staff. Students sense the tension. Families are losing faith in this Nusa school districts. Families are not bringing their kids here. Why would they? And when leadership undermines trust to this extent, there are consequences, especially when asking the same community to approve a referendum that demands trust, transparency, and responsible stewardship. You cannot ask for financial support while refusing to take your moral responsibilities. The people of Nusa deserve to know how their tax dollars are being managed, how their schools are being misled and mismanaged, and why good educators are being forced out. The district's continued refusal to acknowledge wrongdoing or to correct its patterns of politically motivated decisions will have lasting effects on this community. The focus should be on rebuilding trust, supporting educators, prioritizing students, not silencing dissent or rewriting the
043truth to preserve appearances. The community deserves honesty, not the half-truths. All of you know what I'm speaking of. Our students deserve leadership, not politics. And the staff who dedicate their lives to this district deserve fairness. They shouldn't be in fear. Until the district begins to lead with integrity and transparency, it cannot expect this community to follow with confidence. With a referendum in April and two schoolboard members that will be up for reelection, we need to start looking for a new superintendent. We need to do better for all of us. All of us need to work together, not against each other. It starts at the top. Start doing your jobs. Thank you, Renee. I did see another person stand up for public comments. >> Is there any more wrestling? [laughter] >> Is there any more wrestling
044stuff? Cuz I'm going a different direction. >> It pertains to a lot of what she just said. >> My name is Jeff. My wife gives so much to Humpy Elementary. She volunteers, she subs, she takes care of the children, she supports the staff. And how is she treated when she comes in here and addresses an issue? And that issue is we have a verbally and physically abusive third grader put into my first grade daughter's classes, which is not okay. She gets intimidated to be pushed out that door. She gets followed through the hallway and for what? Because she cares too much about the kids and the staff in the school and she's the one willing to speak out. It's BS. It is not the way a school should be run. We should be able to
045walk through that door feeling welcomed and like we belong because we're part of the community instead of having that fake poster over the door that says parents aren't welcome. do not come in. It's not okay. This is funded by the public. I pay. Everybody else who pays taxes in this room pays. It's not okay. The way that people are treated in this school, the staff wants to leave. Like, you guys don't hear it, but teachers talk. Everybody talks. And they're so unhappy here. It's astounding. They're ready to just walk out the door and nobody gives a Like, what are we supposed to do with that? My kids are affected by that because nobody else Well, I'm not going to say nobody. The teachers care deeply. The teachers are awesome and we're losing them more and
046more every year, which is not okay. You should be doing everything you can to keep the good teachers. And what do we get out of it? Nothing. We get intimidated. We get told we don't belong in the schools. We can't be here. I want to give my hats up to the middle school and the high school. When I walked through those doors, I feel welcome. I feel like we're actually part of those schools. When my daughter moved into the middle school, it was completely different. I walk into this school, it's like, "Nope, you don't belong here. You might see something you don't like or some see some sort of secret that What's being hidden here? What What are we not allowed to see? My kids come here every day. I should know exactly what's going
047on in this school. >> Uh, thank you, Jeff. >> Follow question. >> We do. Uh, board members are allowed to ask questions. So, Mahan has a question for Jeff. >> Yes. >> I I don't I don't know what you're talking about, but my question is, what are you asking for? You want >> I want transparency and I want to understand intimidated out of this school. >> I understand that. Are you saying that the public should be able to walk the halls of the school during the day? I don't understand. I just don't understand. >> We should be able to walk in that door and feel like we're part of this school because this is the community. The school is the heartbeat of the community. We shouldn't be told you don't belong here. Especially when you're
048volunteering your time for this school to make it better and make the kids feel like there's somebody there who's going to care for them. And like my wife, she's being intimidated to be pushed out that door. She's being followed through the hallways. Why? Because she cares too much. >> Because I'm willing to stand up for the children. She stands up to the crap she sees go on this school and she's going to get forced out much kind of like what's happening with the wrestling coaches. It's all going hand in hand. It kind of makes sense now. >> Not really, but >> Okay. Okay. Thank you, Jeff. What was your last name? I missed it. >> Frederick. >> Um, any more public comments tonight? >> I'm good. Why not? I wrestled in the Rapids program for
04910 years. I came into that door, what is it, 30, 42 minutes ago. I had no beef in any of this. I don't know what's going on with you. I can kind of recognize your face a little bit from when I wrestled around here. But to me, what I hear from this girl right here, if the academics that he is pushing along to the students, I've never I've been in multiple sports programs. The highest standards that I've ever been held to were wrestling because you live it. It's your season for three months, four months. It's your life seven days a week. And to have it where someone goes out of their way, pushes the academics onto the kids, which none of the other other coaches do ever in other sports and to have it to
050where then you guys I'm just saying you better have a good reason for getting rid of somebody like this in our community because it sounds like this dude is pulling way more than his weight. and to have it where you guys better have a really good reason behind it because otherwise today we talked about pulling my daughter out of here. My daughter is in the kindergarten right now. I'd love to have if she came to me and learned how to wrestle because it's a great way to learn in life discipline. It's a way to protect yourselves. I've never picked a fight with anybody, but I've never lost a fight in my life due to wrestling. And to me, you guys better have a really good reason for getting somebody rid of somebody. two people like
051this in our community that bring people up and give kids confidence and then on top of that hold them to an academic standard. That never happens. So, as a as a resident, you guys better have a really good reason behind it. And if you can't tell anybody about it, it's kind of bogus to have our kids be around people that you get rid of and then you can't tell them the reason that you got rid of them after their children have just been with them the whole time. If you got rid of somebody that was around my daughter, you damn right I want to know why you got rid of her because my daughter just spent time around that person and it's my daughter, not your daughter. So to me, if you got rid of
052them, it better be for a good reason and it better be transparent. >> Very good. [snorts] >> What was your first name? >> Cody. C O D Y. >> Just like yours. >> Thank you, Cody. And that is my question because um I'm curious as a board who fired the coaches as well, but we will talk about that later. Any other public comments? >> Yep. Casey Frederick. All right. Uh we were here a year and a half ago, unfortunately, for my oldest daughter and other students that were being bullied, physically harmed. Um, but I will say since my daughter has been at the middle school for the last year and a half, we have not had a single interaction that has resulted poorly. So, I want to sincerely thank Mr. Julius and Mr. Thomas because
053what you guys are doing over at the middle school clearly is working. So, thank you very much for caring. Unfortunately, things are [clears throat] continuing to suffer at Humpky. I am highly concerned for the students and I am here to voice for the staff because they do feel they cannot say anything because they feel bullied by Miss Baker. On top of her poor decision making and cause of unnecessary harm to students that there is so much more information going on that parents community nobody knows here. She has taken away all fun activities for kids. Reading roundup care family school meeting kids honoring someone in the morning no longer okay kindness week. She moved conference dates so she couldn't line up so it didn't line up with our biggest fundraiser for the big fair of the
054hippo committee. Then she wasn't even seen on conference nights. She moved showcase night a whole month up to the draft night. Then she wasn't even here for showcase night. There's proof she was at the draft. She was only attend she's only attended about five hippo meetings and maybe half the board meetings over the years she's been here. She doesn't introduce herself or make a greeting at Christmas programs. She moved the start times of those back twice now because she doesn't want parents in the school early. She posted a message that stated last year that siblings should remain in classrooms and should not come to their siblings Christmas programs. She doesn't greet children in the hallway in the morning. Probably due to the fact that she cons consistently rolls in zooming through the parking lot after
0558 every morning, but then belittle staff for being two minutes late one day or taking more than two sick days in a row. She degrades staff members in front of other staff. She has made them cry and want to leave or they have quit already. Majority of the staff have stated that if she stays after this year, they are leaving. They don't feel welcome, supported, or like they have a say when it comes to students or classrooms. They feel stretched thin because she makes them pick up and take on other jobs and classes even though it is not their job title because she likes to delegate and not do anything herself. Her attire is not appropriate for elementary principal. She should be able to bend down to young kids, hug them, or have pockets and
056carry a phone or a walkie-talkie or be able to chase kids down the hall or fill in any job that is needed. The 4K class, the 4K classroom has been without a teacher for a handful of days, just aids in there. She should be in there if no one is available. She preaches policy and disrup disruptive behavior. Yet, she walks in classes while teachers are teaching and just stands there or starts talking, disrupting the class herself. She's changed the schedule of inservice days, so teachers didn't have flexibility and were expected to be at [clears throat] their new meetings, which everybody said was terrible, until 4:00 on Halloween. She's not accommodating to any families. She plays favoritism to a friend teacher that has given her the same identical class of students two years in a row,
057but won't accommodate the four to five teachers and aids who actually have students here in the building. Past years, words have been around that cameras have caught inappropriate behavior between her and male members. People have witnessed inappropriate behavior in the school during school hours between her and male members. Since she >> Okay, your three minutes are up. Thank you. >> I think we deserve a vote as a community. Uh, any more public comments tonight? >> Oh, you already spoke. I'm sorry. >> Uh, anyone that didn't speak tonight have any other public comments? All right. Seeing none, uh, we are going to move forward into our, uh, board meeting uh, showcasing schools and student learning with Sarah uh, Goldberg and the curriculum update. All right. Well, I appreciate um everyone giving me an opportunity in a
058moment to um to give an update and share a little bit about curriculum. Again, my name is Sarah Goldberg. I started with the district um this school year. So, I'm uh feel very fortunate to be um in this role and to be able to serve the district in this capacity. So um just want to share with you some updates um from a district perspective as well as building level. So, um hopefully this will this will acknowledge my sleeping a little bit, but um I will just share with you that um I uh some of the things out the gates that I have been really focusing on is uh collaborating with uh different individuals and teams within the district to support our tiered level uh learning and to support varying uh students across the spectrum. in
059terms of their needs. Um, so I chose this image just because I feel like it really encapsulates what really is integral in supporting student learning both from a social emotional uh aspect as well as academic. So uh to uh give you just kind of an update uh as I've got so this is a new position in the district uh and so I you know kind of coming in have uh taken a a a look and worked alongside uh many staff members to uh analyze our systems uh to to acknowledge the needs that are in the in the district and uh to focus on uh state alignment and um pertinent things that are related to uh requirements and and legalities with the state. Uh so that was kind of my first first month. Um as I
060got established uh moving forward uh really huge to to my role is collaboration and developing a sense of community. So, uh, I do want to, uh, acknowledge the the the staff in this room, um, and the opportunities we've had to collaborate already, uh, and I'm looking forward to, uh, digging further into, uh, curriculum. So, that's kind of where we're headed next, um, as we dig deeper into some of those needs. And uh because of that I've acknowledged some uh priority areas and of course always pivoting if the need is there uh to respond to uh specific uh needs as well. So from a district perspective, I kind of have come up with as I mentioned some priority areas uh and again in collaboration with with our buildings um really just having a holistic approach to
061supporting student needs uh and having resources available for those students. So, um, taking a look at what we currently have in place, what needs to be, uh, evaluated and how we can move our district forward. So, uh, some of that involves looking at alignment. So, ensuring that we have cohesion across our buildings, um, in, uh, engaging in strategies and resources that are responsive to student needs, uh, whatever that might be. And then um taking a look at our gifted and talented programming. That is something that I I do want to um address and build in the district so that we are um meeting learners across uh levels. So, um, part of my work involves curriculum review and adoption and and building strong systems so that we have a a ability to to tackle uh things
062that maybe are outdated or need a review and to move things forward. Uh, one example is our district recently purchased um social emotional learning program program named Character Strong and it's uh intended for 4K through 8th grade and I really do think it's a great program and so I'm looking forward to working with staff in uh utilizing that to its fullest potential. And then finally um I I am serving as the district assessment uh coordinator as well. So I really appre have appreciated um our administrative team in supporting me in that role and I want to give uh a special uh props to um Susan Baldwin who has really helped me in terms of our uh the the keeping helping keep me on the schedule uh for all of the assessments that uh range from
063elementary to high school. Uh so to kind of break it down by building um Humpky we are looking at we we want to acknowledge the hard work that's been put into the curriculum currently for our English language arts programming but uh we have uh after analysis that programming has been in place for se quite a few years and um from a curriculum perspective it is it is time to uh take a look and analy ize and evaluate where we're at with that. Um, and so we are in the process of taking a look at and also to um address Act 20, which is a um new uh legal requirement in the state of Wisconsin for literacy uh and foundational learning needs um for our youngest learners. So, we are in the process of reviewing curriculum
064and making some updates to that. Uh we've also implemented um EXL which is an edtech um platform uh and it provides us an uh uh captures um student uh progress from a screening standpoint as well as uh skill specific support. So what's really neat about this kind of curriculum is that it is adaptive and it supports learners um again uh those who are you know advanced and need some higher level content as well as those students who still need to um provide for or be provided um additional supports. And then finally to build off of that uh we are looking at some uh supplemental literacy resources as well. Again, uh we are doing some trial programs to uh address those tier 2 and tier three needs as well as um continuing to strengthen our tier
065one and our universal uh learning opportunities for students. Moving on to AMS and our CWSA programming, um they [clears throat] did a comprehensive curriculum, so they already did some work for me. Um they did a comprehensive uh curriculum evaluation last year for their English language arts programming and um so we they have now adopted benchmark advance which is an English language arts uh program uh to support again universal needs as well as tiered level of support and interventions that that build student learning. So that is for grades four and five. Uh we've also uh are implementing EXL for math and English language arts uh at the middle school. So that has been very beneficial uh again for for supporting students across the array of needs. And finally um something that I've been working with Keith
066and Jason on is uh and our math department. So I want to give uh kudos to them as well. But we've been really working on um examining our secondary math curriculum and uh making some decisions around what that will look like in the future. Finally, for our high school and the academy, uh we just uh again you're seeing a theme, but we are really looking to support learners across uh the spectrum in terms of of both academic and behavioral. So secondary interventions and responsive strategies have been a real key part and I've uh had the opportunity to collaborate with several staff members and teams in that regard. Um again as I mentioned our secondary math curriculum is something under review. And finally um again uh to to uh shout out Susan once more uh we
067have edge of climber as part of our data manage man management system and uh that is something that I would like to see us utilize in greater capacity so that we can um have more um conversations and um cohesion across the buildings as well for that um and and to address student needs quick in a quicker uh manner. So, um that is just kind of a little bit of a an update on some of the things that are happening in the district as well as at a building uh level. >> Uh any questions for Sarah today? >> Yeah, I got a question. >> Yeah. >> Um recently we had somebody resign from uh Nakusa Academy and I'm very passionate about that that school. Um, and I know within our district we have two individuals that
068are licensed in alternative ed. I'm wondering, you know, I'm not trying to put you on the spot, but wondering why one of those people weren't put into that school until we found somebody that would be willing to take over the academy for a time being. Um, because, you know, these kids need somebody who understands them, needs, we can't neglect their education. Yeah. >> I mean, if our mission and vision in this district is all about all kids, then we should be about all kids and we should be placing somebody that has that alternative ed license when we have to in the district in that position >> so that they're not refer to Keith on that point. Um, as I know he has a little bit more background with the academy >> and Terry Whitmore who
069is the principal for WISE which is where both of those individuals are working. He and I did have a conversation right away about it. You know, unfortunately, those two are both engaged with with work that they're doing for wise. And so, it just >> I'm not okay with that though. I'm not okay with that because you've moved people before to different positions >> when you needed them. >> It would be for a time being. They can go back to that job after we found somebody that's got that license or would be willing to get that license. But I'm not okay with you just put somebody in there for the time being and who knows how long that time being is going to be. What's going to happen to those kids education? >> That's what I'm
070worried about >> and we can have conversations as with workshops moving forward and but thank you for bringing that point forward and I know Jennifer you had a question as well. >> Yeah, Sarah, you talked about the tiered level of support. Can you talk a little bit about what that looks like? Yeah. So I think one of the stands [clears throat] in here um but um so that can encompass a lot of different things. It can be formative kinds of things that are in the classroom and uh sort of uh teacher anecdotal uh um observations for students and what they need. Um it can also uh utilize our technology uh capabilities that we now have in terms of some of our programming and as I mentioned before those are adaptive. So what that means is
071that uh how students progress through the activities that they're presented with it will shift automatically to uh support where they're at in terms of their learning. So that might um address skills at a level that's uh previous or a skill development set that is higher than perhaps their grade level. So uh those that's one example uh as well as um our C hopefully to to build our curriculum resources further um that we have in classrooms. Um there are different methodologies to support those interventions and a lot of those resources have some really great tools to be able to support that as well. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. And I got one more question for you. >> Yeah. >> How does AI fit into all of this curriculum because I know things are changing and then
072how is that AI as far as assessment goes? I mean how are we really going to know where kids are at, what they're learning, how they're progressing? >> Yeah. So, it's a it's a it's a valid conversation and one that we're continuing to have and that I think we're all learning about as we go. Um, I think uh I you know I've connected with uh various curriculum leaders across the state and uh the approach is is that we are acknowledging and citing the use of those tools. Um and also I think that we have to acknowledge also that those are supplemental where we're there there is still um too much opportunity for error as well. So I think we have to still um maintain the um credibility and the ingen ingenuity that we have as
073human beings and we have to be smart about how we use those tools. So part of it is uh establishing digital citizenship and building an understanding of of how those tools are utilized. >> So I'll add Sarah um I am president of the uh association of school business officials which is a national international association. Uh I will take over as president next year on January 1. We are addressing that in our organization and providing a toolkit for a the districts across the nation and basically across the world to try and develop uh some policies regarding artificial intelligence >> because everybody knows that artificial intelligence is learning is learning itself every single day and there are errors that we have to be aware of. um the thing that comes into play are the legalities of that
074as well. So there's a lot of work that has to be done and it can't be you know answered in a two-minute conversation I don't think so >> it is yeah there's a lot of >> every organization is kind of looking at that and trying to provide a toolkit for districts to help them navigate this very complex area. >> Yeah. Just as our world continues to globalize, this is an inevitability that's that's um part of how we are moving forward in um in in a 21st century world. So these are things that we'll have to continue to navigate. >> Thank you, sir. Any other questions for her? >> All right. Uh up next is our interim district administrator, Lynn Knight, communicating with the board >> and director of business services. Um, I just wanted to
075let you know the, uh, report cards were released on November 11th, which was Tuesday. Uh, the district did very, very well in regards to our report cards. Um, we, uh, our district overall score was 76.1, which is exceeding expectations. So, kudos to the principles and to the staff, the associate principal, Sarah, everybody who had a hand in that. Um, Pittsville, we beat Pittsville, Port Edwards, Adams, and Rapids. So, that is something that our district can be very, very proud of, and I know I am very proud of our staff. Um, in addition, I know the referendum was mentioned. Uh, we do have nine listening sessions scheduled for uh the across various communities. We have three in the uh Rome library, three at the Nucusa Library, one at the Saratoga Town Hall, one at the Amirania
076Town Hall, and one on the town of Port Edwards Town Hall. So, there are many opportunities to folks for folks to ask questions regarding the referendum. Um, I've been here for 17 years now. So, I was here when we were on the brink of bankruptcy. So, I know what this district has been through and I know how to save the district in a financial situation. Um so we need to be prepared to uh address the uh deficit um of $1 million which we are now facing this year. $1 million were in the red. So um I wish we' have had more participation at the budget hearing because then you could have seen uh all the things that we are spending our money on. So, um I'm hoping that a lot of folks attend the uh
077listening sessions and please ask questions because we want to be transparent as possible. >> Where can we find the times for those? >> That'll be on the website. And we're also sending a card in the mail, a flyer in the mail. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> Uh anything else, >> Nope. That's it. >> Questions from the board? Uh up next, our student representative from the high school, Andrea. >> Hi. Um I'm a junior in high school and I'm the student rep and all things. Um so a few things going on with student life in this high. Um all the clubs are doing all their fundraising. Um student council is doing their penny war, which is a huge fun fundraiser for um combining with the family center. Um, National Honor Society is doing their bell
078ringer, bell ringing. And um, then the whole junior class is doing their sweater fundraiser um, which is available I I believe through the school district website if you want to participate in that fundraiser for our prom. Um, the winter sports are starting. Um, basketball and wrestling, both big sports. Um, then there's Battle of the Burners and Battle of the Books, which is middle and high school. [clears throat] Battle of the Books has 14s and 12 students in total, I believe. >> Any other questions for Andrea from the board? >> What is the battle of the books? Um I don't know a whole lot about it but keep >> So uh there's a list of 20 books that um teams form minimum two maximum of four teams. They have to figure out how they're going to
079read these 20 books and there's a trivia contest at the end where they have to answer questions based on the books and then there is a building winner and they will go on and compete at state which is a test that they take and just compare their test scores with everyone else. >> Thank you Andrea. Uh up next we have some exciting news to celebrate. I'm going to give the floor to Jennifer here to introduce that. >> Yeah, thank you Cody. So on November 4th, uh Lynn Knight and I were able to celebrate Dave down there, Dave Schmidt, as he achieved the level five award in the Wisconsin Association of School Boards member recognition program. So this is the highest award that you can get. The program recognizes board members for their efforts in leadership
080and board development. So Dave, we have a picture that we like to present to you and then um [applause] like uh Jennifer said that this award is given to schoolboard members that for attending WASBY events uh such as training sessions uh being a delegate at the convention in in Milwaukee each year uh and other uh activities that the WASBY puts on. Uh I've earned all five of the awards as you can see in my my jacket here. Uh level five is the the highest level that you can earn that they that they give out and I'm pleased to share this award with the school board. >> Congratulations, Dave. >> [applause] >> And uh congratulations again. Uh no policy government's last uh board workshop. We weren't able to meet um discuss that. Uh other board work
081we have the library library plan presentation and library plan approval. So Jesse, I will hand that over to you. All right. So, I'm here um seeking board approval for a library plan that I've uh put together. Um hope you guys get all that information sent over at some point. Okay. It's also available on the uh library website as well if you want to uh peruse it. Um it is required under um it's required under administrative code. So each school district board shall have a on file long range district or library media plan. Um the state has adopted a future ready um framework. There is nine pieces or there's seven pieces in the state. They are basing it on ed for all which has a nine piece model. I've chosen to go with that instead. It's
082just a little bit more comprehensive. The state kind of shrinks some things down. I like the other one better. They're they're both uh state approved. Um, this is not an all-encompassing plan. It's not supposed to like hit everything. Um, the DPI says you're supposed to go for like two to three goals that you're looking to accomplish. Um, with this in mind, I created a pre preliminary library plan. I shared it with a couple teachers at the middle school and high school as well as Mr. Johnson, if you want to put that up there. Sure. Um, they made they gave me some um feedback. I made some changes to it and um then I uh read [clears throat] the plan and now this is what I have proposed to you if Mr. Johnson is putting up
083and I'll just go over it. So there's three three b three main goals I'm looking at. Um increasing outreach and collaboration with district district staff to enhance teaching and learning. Um creating consistent communication with staff and working with Sarah to do this. Offering PD for tech integration um as well as physical resources and digital resources. Hopefully I can do that on Wednesdays. Um in person if people want to like meet with me in person to uh get a little bit more uh personalized. That'd be great. Um hopefully monthly and then I'm going to do video tutorials online. So if anyone want wants to watch them on their own time, they can do that. Um two, optimize your resource management and collection development. We have a lot of outdated non-fiction books which I am currently reading
084and getting through right now. I'm in the midst of figuring out do we want to replace those with physical assets or um digital assets. Um analyzing our digital resources to make changes accordingly. I'll run reports on the current things that we are subscribed to. Are they being utilized properly? Are they not being utilized properly? And make changes based on those numbers. And then um promoting the use of the maker space at the high school, which is great. I don't know if you guys have been up there. Mr. Peters helped set up last year. We got a 3D printer, Cricut printing machine, all kinds of good stuff up there. So, I'm trying to get kids to utilize that more. And then the last one is fostering a positive student attitude towards reading, which is more focused
085towards the middle school and high school. I'm doing monthly book uh recommendations that I post on YouTube and have the ELA teachers look at. Uh battle the books. I started last year and the middle school is has a lot of interest in there this year. I think we have 16 teams and like 35 kids competing. So, that's awesome. uh book and resource displays that allow students to see themselves represented in books and the resources that we have. And then a reading incentive program. I'm looking at purchasing Beanstack, which kind of gamifies reading more or less. And that's kind of a general overview of my plan. >> We'll uh get a motion before we discuss and ask questions. Um at this time, I'll look for a a motion to approve the library plan as presented. >>
086I second it. >> Yeah. in a second. I'll open the floor to discussion. Any questions for Jesse? >> All I got to say is Jess, I think you put a lot of work into this and I congratulate you on that. >> All right. Uh, this is going to go into a roll call vote. So, we have um a motion um on the floor. So, if you'd like to do the roll call, Dan. >> Ann, >> yes. >> Jennifer, >> yes. >> I say yes. Brian, >> yes. Cody. >> Yes. Uh so we have five. So uh motion is approved on the roll call vote for the library plan presentation. And then moving forward here we are on the consent agenda. Uh resignations. Anyone in the building want to speak on the behalfs of the resignations?
087>> Yeah. I'd like to say something about Sher Oser. She was at AMS for 15 years. Um she's stepping away for personal and health reasons. um you know during that 15 years uh close working relationships with her colleagues and inspiring a lot of students as our as a special education teacher. So wish her nothing but the best as she moves forward. Uh then employment we have Emily Jordan HS aid Brian Peterson uh JV boys basketball coach Dane Gabrielson JVR boys basketball coach Jos Jensen co-head coach boys wrestling Paul Gellerup co-head coach boys wrestling uh Denton Mullins women's wrestling head coach and then Dave do you want to read donations >> donations this this month $500 from the class of 1964 for the NHS science department, $2,000 from Renaissance Learning, $200 from the Safeway bus driver
088for the volleyball team. Uh, from Backpack for Kids, we had $29 donated from Rome Makers HCE, $25 from Diane Grineer, $360 from Rome Funko Group, uh, Families Helping Families, $2,000 from Town of Rome Fire Department. We thank you all for your donations. It's very helpful for us. >> Thank you, Dave. And thank you again this month to those donors. Uh minutes 10:16 25 was a regular board meeting. And then right now I'll look for a motion to approve the consent agenda as presented. >> Second. >> Get a first and a second. Those all in favor please say I. >> Opposed. I am going to oppose. So we have four. Yay. >> I oppose. >> You have one. Okay. So three to two. Uh motion carries. Uh next future agenda items OE6 financial planning, OE7 financial
089administration, OE8 asset protection, GP7 agenda planning, R2 academic performance, and then on the 10th, we'll have a regular board meeting. Uh right now, I'm going to look for a motion to adjourn into close session. Uh consideration of motion to adjurnn uh to Wisconsin state statutes 985 uh line 1g uh conferring with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is likely or become involved for purpose of conferring with council regarding of notice injury and claims served upon the board.
