002evening parents i will be leaving the pleasure please i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty [Applause] this time i would like to welcome nicole sergeant student from hamilton [Applause] [Music] light lastly whose brush [Music] were so gallons [Music] oh [Applause] i'd like that to welcome to the podium our school committee chairperson mr mark strauss [Applause] good evening everyone fellow school committee members superintendent director dr javier principal faculty and staff class of 2022 parents and extended family members it is indeed my honor and privilege to represent the entire 20-member school committee in celebrating all of the accomplishments and honors of the class of 2022 who by the way will be graduating tomorrow night from the finest
003agricultural and technical high school in the entire commonwealth of massachusetts [Applause] those of you who assembled here tonight to receive awards and scholarships have excelled either in academics athletics participation in co-curricular activities such as skills usa ffa deca or any of the community service projects you're elected to be involved with this year maybe you assisted with many any of the many community-based projects throughout our 17 thousand cities or hot quality hope or kindness week or breast cancer awareness or the pauline ritzer five gig or maybe you assisted in refurbishing a smith hall or the alumni gym or building the larvae cottage as a way to give back to your school and to your sending communities whatever project you were involved with i want you all to know that we are so very very proud of

009villalona [Applause] who will be attending the university of massachusetts lowell to study mechanical engineering in the fall the biotechnology excellence award is presented to alexa she participated in our cooperative education program during her junior year by completing a virtual internship in the area of biotechnology with harvard university upon graduation alexa will be attending worcester polytechnic institute to major in biology and biotechnology the carpentry excellence award is presented to max collins and upon graduation max will be attending roger williams university to pursue a degree in construction management with a minor in both architecture and business as a part of master's high school experience he participated in our cooperative education program working for treehouse design incorporated [Applause] graduation we'll be studying canine training and management at suny wholesale [Applause] while this student is not able to join
010us this evening we would like to recognize the recipient of the construction craft laborers excellence award the recipient is andrew souza who is a resident of peabody and is a graduate of the essex tech peabody memorial high school partnership program following graduation andrew will continue to work in the field [Applause] we would like to recognize that the cosmetology excellence award goes to payola martens [Applause] upon graduation paolo plans to attend merrimack college to study nursing with the goal of becoming an aesthetic nurse [Applause] award is presented to angelina [Applause] upon graduation angelina will be attending custom university to pursue a degree in criminal justice [Applause] and participated in the cooperative education program at peterborough danvers oral maxillofacial surgery upon graduation larissa will be attending the university of new england to study pre-dental and medical biology

034technology program has worked at group one auto audi activity while on corporate meditation on graduation will be continuing to work in the field and enroll well in classes [Applause] mr and mrs heights are not able to be here with us tonight so it's my honor to present the michael heights memorial awards that's volvo scholars and share their words michael heitz was a member of the class of 2005 at north shore tech when at just 16 in a junior michael and friend were killed by a drunk driver his passion for automotive technology was evident as he excelled in this field in fact michael was the first in this class to go out in his junior year to work as an intern he was employed at stutz volvo in salem at that time this award is given
035annually to a senior monologue of technology who has exhibited the same attributes energy and passion that michael had we offer this award and michael's honor giving the graduating automotive technician a bit of a head start in purchasing some needed tools of the trade and snap our tools it is a great pleasure to welcome back to the stage the 2022 michael heights memorial sculptures recipient josh [Applause] tonight it is an honor to share your awards in respect for their andre beach memorial award andre beach a graduate of the class of 2016 snl for agricultural technical schools technical high school in 2011 and replacement of the carpenter program during his enrollment at both schools was always evident that he loved to work with his hands and as he got older he was also loved to drive his
036truck and passed away much too young and much too soon during the fall of 2017 was they truly enjoyed being a carpenter and aspired to have a lifelong career in the trade a student who shows initiative and perseverance in his or her construction or related trade setting and has been especially motivated in a career technical area during enrollment this grant is andre tools and supplies to begin visit her career after graduation we would like to recognize brendan swift [Applause] this one [Applause] a student in our public program employee and process typing company corporation on cooperative education upon graduation plans to continue to work as an apprentice in the plumbing field [Applause] the christopher wheeler memorial scholarship is in honor of chris mueller who graduated with the north shore vocational technical high school class of 2009.
037chris was a free drafting release while a student at northshore tech this is tragic in may 2011 reminds us of how fragile it is on behalf of chris's family the christopher dealer memorial scholarship is being awarded upon graduation reese will continue to work as an apprentice at gdm electrical where he has been employed while on cooperative education [Applause] at this time please welcome this is casey o'donnell to the stage to sure presenting her family's john o'donnell memorial scholarship [Applause] johnny o'donnell was a three-season athlete at linfield high school participating in football wrestling and baseball was an enormous patriots and red sox he was also the beloved brother-in-law to our guidance counselor johnny was caring supportive and always smiling period of the year after graduating from linfield school johnny spent time at north shore technical high
038school in their life skills program and they quote the impression data for a short period of time while learning some of the traits and skills until the seventh passage of age 19 in december 2003. the john anderson scholarship is a worthwhile student who has grown significantly as an individual over his her past four years at essex with moving on after high school to start and explain the way johnny would this year's recipient is gabriel mona work at silver line refrigeration while on cooperative education upon graduation he plans to continue working [Applause] we invite mr [Applause] is a dedicated school adjustment counselor who proudly served north shore tech essex tech students from 1999 to 2017 almost two decades protect essex tech students from 1999 to 2017 almost two decades prior to our all-time passing in 2017.

042the memory of mr ellery metcalf who was a distinguished member of the vocational faculty he began his teaching career in 1918. this scholarship was awarded to a student who attempts to major in either mental science including a pre-veterinary program or environmental sciences while unfortunately this student was not able to attend with us content here tonight we would like to recognize that that is faculty attending the university of colorado boulder to study engineering [Applause] alumni association's patrick t santan memorial award is provided by the santa family loving memory of their father patrick g10 a 1937 graduate of the ss mr stanley always died of the application he received society from the start gave him a deleted meaningful and active life 2022 patrick g standing scholarship is awarded to kikayla meanwhile [Applause] he is technology services program

051hugely skilled in many trades including plumbing heating construction and telecommunications he was also a master electrician in fact garth gained his master status in 1976 at just 16 years old the youngest master on record for the state of new hampshire it garciated euros while he was happy not to be wriggling into crawl spaces machines or type chases his family would often laugh at the image of him at eight years old wrinkled and cranky fixing people's wiring installing new service guards was an unfailingly supportive and generous man he lived and breathed his work and knew more about what he loved than anyone his family had ever met he shared his knowledge and skills freely and unconditionally the guards he told the tradesmen award embodies the spirit of support and generosity the recipients of the garth g
