Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Yeah. [music] [music] Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the big house on the big hill. I'm Josh Delgazo and we are very excited to bring you a holiday matchup between two greater Boston League rivals, the defending Greater Boston League champion Lynn Classical Rams and our very own Everett Crimson Tide. I'm Josh Delgazo. I'm flying solo for this one as my guy Justin Han is down with the Verithian enjoying some welldeserved time off. So we will be bringing you the action. We got the crew on hand looking forward to this one and we are live right in time
for the holidays. So, this is a big one. But when Classical Rams come into this one, they were riding high last year and they had a lot of young kids that returned on their roster and they have a lot of size. We did this game last year. It was a great game, but it did go by way of the Rams as they pulled it out late. But our Crimson Tide are looking re-energized and recharged. [music] We did the season opener here last Tuesday. It was a big win over Maldin. They since dropped a couple heartbreakers since they lost a one-pointer at Chelsea on what was the next next to a buzzer beater that went late in the game. And then they also had a tough loss at Brockton the next night where they did lead
in the third quarter, but after having some foul trouble that that uh cost them in that game as well. But we are now going to send it to our public address announcer to bring you our start and lineups and now we're national anthem. Thanks everyone. more from white. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Everett High School for this GBL matchup between the Link Classical Rams and your Everett Crimson Tide. [cheering] >> [applause] >> Now for the starting line items for the visiting Rams. Number four, Darren Baker. [applause] Number one, Deshawn Rucker. Number two, Cameron Rucker. Number five, Daryl Reynolds. [cheering] And number 35, Shaheen M. And for the Crimson Tide at center number two, Samir King Depos [cheering] at guard number 14, Jaden Alendor [cheering] [applause] at guard. Captain number three, Jaden Sanchez.
[cheering] Atg guard captain number four. Adam Edmmond [cheering] [applause] is atg guard captain number one Christian master. [cheering] [laughter] We ask everyone to please ride rise and remove your headwear as we do a moment of silence for a long time ever Crimson Tide manager Mike Mackey. >> Thank you. Please stay standing for the playing of our national anthem. >> Oh. Oh, [music] [music] >> [music] >> Heat. [music] Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] [applause] [music] >> Woo! All right, a very nice job filling in for Chris Miller tonight. It's our assistant athletic director, Steve Gallagher, who brought forth our starting lineups. He did an excellent job filling in for the one that is Chris Miller, who is enjoying some holiday time off as well. So, this is a 300 p.m. tip off here at Everett High
School. A big matchup. Crimson Tide come into this one at 1 and2. We mentioned they dropped their last two games to Chelsea and Brockton. Both hard-fought losses and they look to try to get back on the winning side and they're going [cheering] they're going to do it against a very good Lin Classical Ram squad coached by Marvin Avery. They have some great players on this team and they return virtually everyone from what was a loaded roster last season. So, coach Jerry Boyce and his Crimson Tide know that they're going to have to play their agame here today. But uh we know the Crimson Tide have an agame that uh that can play with anybody. So we're looking forward to the action. You could see our starting five on the court for the Crimson Tide. Number
one, co- captain Christian Vasquez. Number two, Samir King Dosta. Number three, co- captain Jaden Sanchez. Number four, co- captain Adam at Muserude. And number 14, Jaden Alendor. The co- captains, all three of them are seniors. Samir King D Costa and Jade Alendor, both juniors to make up the starting five for the Tide. Crimson Tide wearing their white home jerseys. Rams in black with green trim >> at Mus will pilot the Crimson Tide offense. Last game we did here, it was Christian Vasquez leading the way with 28 points. He'll look to get the scoring early and often in this one as he does right there on Q. Vasquez, nice fadeaway is good. Tied with the first points of the game. >> Nice ball movement from the Rams. Corner three is good by number five Daryl DJ
Reynolds. Excellent touch pass making his way making the way out to the corner there. Tide will employ you'll see them play a two-3 zone and they'll also camouflage a little bit of a 12-1 zone which can lead to some corner opportunities if the ball movement is correct. Basket no good by Vasquez. Rebound goes to number 35 Shaheen Bab. We called his name a lot last year. Bab is a problem down low. And that's another three is good. That's Deshawn Rucker. So the Rams quickly two for two from beyond the arc and they have a 6-2 lead. King Dosta sets the screen. Vasquez is going to get a good look at it. Hesitates and that's going to be a traveling violation. We saw this in the game the other night. Vasquez had a couple opportunities in
that that Brockton game where I think if if if you run the tape back, he'd want to take take those shots coming off the screens. He is a terrific shooter. When he gets room, take those looks. >> That is no good. Strong rebound by Vasquez at Miseroo. quickly gets it over to King Dosta who was outstanding in the Brockton game. That doesn't fall. Rams now in transition. Quick pass down low. Doesn't go but they get their own rebound. That one does go and that was put in by number four Darren Baker. So quick flurry from the Rams after the Tide were on top two nothing. 8 run. Screen set. Also tries it from three. That's no good. King D. Costa comes up with the offensive rebound. That is no good. And the Rams have it.
Out in front. Pass goes to Baker. And we're going to have a quick timeout called by coach Boyce as the Rams head with a 100 run coming with 520 left in the first quarter. So, an avalanche of scoring already from the Rams. [music] >> [music] >> Nice job by the Crimson Tide cheerleaders bringing some of that holiday cheer and festive nature with the Feliz Na'vi chair. Nice job by our cheerleaders. I heard them warming up. They had a very uh a holiday themed soundtrack for their for their cheers here tonight. So, we're looking forward to that. So, Crimson Tide basketball after the timeout. Rams putting fullourt pressure then backing off into the half court set. Man-to-man all the way was Cameron Rucker covering at Museroo looking for a cutter to the basket. King Dosta has
space. Gets it over to Alendor. And that's going to be a reachin foul against the Rams. That'll be the first foul this afternoon. So tied basketball underneath. We are under the fiveminute mark here in this first quarter. Tide got the first points on the board and then it's been 10 straight from the Rams. Also is going to get a good look from three. That doesn't go bad with the rebound. Quick entry to Bab. Keeps the pivot. Goes down low. Back to Bab. Good defense by King Dosta knocking it away. And King Dosta is out front. Excellent pass. Nice finish by Samir King Dosta. Tide break the run. They're down six now. They won't play a little bit of fullourt zone pressure themselves. Extending that zone. Fullourt. Here comes King Dosta with another steal out front.
Nice spin move. Had him in the spin cycle. Good defense by the Rams knocking it out of bounds. It's going to stay with the Crimson Tide. I like what I see defensively right there. Bringing that pressure to a full court and King Dosta doing an excellent job getting out front leading the break in transition. Let's see what they design here. >> Oh, bounce pass goes to Alendor. He's going to get tied up with Bab. Jump ball. arrow is pointing towards the Crimson Tide. So, they'll keep it on the jump ball possession arrow. Good job by Alindor tangling up with Bab. We talked about Shaheen Bab. I'm telling you, last year in the game we did, he was a menace on the boards. He had nice touchdown. He's a really good player along with quite a
few Rams. This is Alendor now from the wing. Alendor 0 for three from downtown. Getting good looks though. And shooters shoot. Keep shooting, Jaden. That's a good look. Good defense by the Tide. They're going to have to really make their rotations quick. The Rams have already shown they can fill it up from downtown. Bab now working on King Dosta. That doesn't go. Good defense by King Dosta and Vasquez will come up with the steal after Bab had his own rebound at Musaru. Finds King Dosta. He heads to the basket. That's no good. Shot may not have been blocked, but it was certainly bothered by Bab. And a couple missed shots now. King D Costa out front. He's going to leave it back to Alcador and one. Excellent finish by Jaden Alindor on a beautiful dish
by King Dosta. And now the Tide with a little run of their own. There's a good look at Alindor. A little slow to get up, but hopefully the prospects of making a three-point play get him over to the foul line. Here's a look at the replay. King Dosta drops it off beautifully and that is Alyor plays it off the window, the hoop, and some harm. and he'll try to make this a onep possession game. We got a couple substitutions now into the game. Actually, looks like it's just Yes. At Musaru and Okay, King Dosta was getting instructions. So, checking in for Adam at Muserude is number one. Number 21, Josiah Passappia, the young sophomore. And Pasia was outstanding in the game we did versus Malden. Came off the bench. Immediate boost that he provided to
the team. [cheering] Does so right there. Gets a rebound. He's looking to push. Pazia blends good size at the guard position with an aggressive take. That's Vasquez. That doesn't go. >> All right. So, they're going to call Papia for the reachin foul. And that's going to be a shooting foul as number five DJ Reynolds was heading to the basket. DJ. >> Reynolds gets the first to fall. >> Here's a look at the replay. Nice pass. [cheering] >> A nice play by Pafia. He kind of gave the old Olay trick. Let me get out of the way. But they called him on the reach. So Rams up by six. This is Vasquez. Screen set by Sanchez. Bafia working. Heads to the basket. Goes baseline. Nowhere to go. Looking for some help. finds King Dosta, but it's
knocked away. Stolen by the Rams. Bab comes up with it. [cheering] Good defense. All right, so they're going to call Vasquez. So going back to the line will be DJ Reynolds who is two for two at the line. >> Jeez, might have been some contact with the body. It looked like a pretty good play on the ball, but easy easy for me to say not making the call live. >> But that's what happens when you're aggressive and you go to the basket. Often times whistles will get blown. >> Reynolds goes one for two. Seven-point lead for Lin Classical. >> Oh, I like the take. But good defense. Bab getting a piece of it. That's a really nice move. [cheering] That was good defense, too. There's just not a lot you can do with a big
fell like that who can put you in the spin cycle and throw it off the window. Nice move by Shaheen Bab. He's got his first basket of the afternoon. Rams up by nine. Papia drives hard to the basket. That's going to be blocked by Bab. Rams now looking for more. [applause and cheering] >> Good defense by Sanchez. King D Costa with the rebound. Tied knee to hoop. Been on a drought for the last couple minutes. Nice move by Vasquez. That's big time. Christian Vasquez back to his signature fadeaway on the jump stop in the lane. [applause] We approach 45 seconds remaining in this first quarter. [cheering] Three-point attempt is good. Devon Rucker the latest to add to the three-point barrage of the Rams. Vapia sees a path to the basket. But again, Bab is there
altering the shot. >> The rim protection presence of Shaheen Bab constantly showing. And we're going to get a foul there. Back to the line is DJ Reynolds. He's had four trips already. He's three or four at the charity stripe. A triple attack. Rebound. >> [screaming] >> Reynolds again goes one for two. Rams with their largest lead here up 11. Tide can take last shot as we are 10 seconds remaining in this first quarter. >> Big time shot at the buzzer and did they need that? And number 15, Emanuel Nelson, drops in the three as time expires. And the Tide desperately needed that. Getting some momentum back in what was a momentous first quarter for the Rams. And now our cheerleaders will continue to keep this crowd energized. But after one quarter of play, Rams on
top 1911. [music] Should I drop [music] my sh [music] So big time by Emanuel Nelson knocking down that three. Nelson actually knocked down a big three in the Maldin game as well. So he's no stranger to enjoying a beautiful view. They needed that. They'll need a lot more of that combined with some really good defense. The Rams with three first quarter threes all by different players. Deshawn Rucker, Devon Rucker, and DJ Reynolds all knocking down threes. I think they only missed one from downtown. So, oh, good defense by King Dosta coming over with his outstretched arm, knocking that away on the entry feed to Bab. King Dosta is big time. I'm telling you, he showed out in a big way versus Brockton. And it was actually when he followed out of the game, everything kind
of changed. But King Dosta plays much bigger than he is. He's not a small guy, but he can cover the bigger players and and and do so with relative ease. He's got a lot of spring. He's got great instincts, good feel for the game. >> So, out of bounds, Crimson Tide basketball. There's a look at Coach Avery and the Rams. >> Ball quickly moving around. Nice movement coming around the perimeter. King Dost is going to set the screen for Alindor. He's going to pull up from the elbow. That's no good. Rams doing a really nice job on the defensive glass. >> Good defense by Vasquez. Quickly getting back into the picture, erasing that entry feed. It's going to stay with the Rams. >> And we're going to have a foul called on King D. Costa.
So going to the line is Shahem Bab, the senior. Bab goes one for two. Rams back up by nine. >> Good movement by the Tide. Good defense by the Rams. Down to 15 on the shot clock. That's Vasquez's shot. He's [screaming] got it. Christian really likes the view right there. He's got six points. Those are the shots you want to try to get and create for Christian. He's got a hot hand right now. Let's see if they can ride that. And Bab just too big down low >> at Museroo now. Double screen set. Heads to the basket. Finds King D. Costa. Steps up. Throws it in off the window. But they're going to call Samir for the offensive foul as Shaheen Bab takes the charge. negating the two points. King D Costa made off the
window there, but good play by Babs. Had his feet set, did a real good job taking that charge. So now we're going to have a substitution for the Crimson Tide. Checking into the game is number zero David Xavier and he will replace Samir King Dosta. [cheering] Good poke away by Vasquez. Good hands. >> You need it on a guy like Bab. Otherwise, he gets that ball up over his shoulders, is going to be very tough to stop. Biggest guy on the court by a lengthy amount. I'd say Bab pushing 66, 6'5. Anyway, it's out of bounds. Crimson Tide basketball. Some really good defense by the Crimson Tide. They're hanging They hang their hat on the defensive [screaming] end. It's showing up here. Just got to try to find a consistent rhythm offensively. Oh, again, Vasquez
gets to his shot. Vasquez starting to heat up. He's got eight points. Loves the elbow. He's getting there. when he can when he has room to operate, Vasquez can be deadly in that mid-range game. Suffocating defense by the Crimson Tide. 15 on the shot clock for the Rams. Watch out for the leak outs to the corner. That was a really nice back door cut heading to the basket was number four. That's Darren Baker on a beautiful feed. That ball had eyes as the shot clock was winding down. Some really good defense by the Tide, but tip your hat. [screaming] >> The runner by At Musaru doesn't go, but he gets his own rebound. They're going to call at Musaroo for a push in the back. [cheering] So, offensive foul goes to Adam. Really nice take
to the basket as Florida just rimmed out. They're going to get him for a push off on the on the rebound attempt. So, it's going to go back to the Rams. They're up by nine. They've been kind of keeping the lead around this 9 11 point margin. Tid's offense is starting to pick up, but the Rams are doing enough to keep pace and and and pace out the game, I should say. Corner look. That's good. [applause] Devon Rucker with his second three. Two for two is Rucker. Same view. likes that corner. Rams up by 12 at Musaru. Gets a round Rucker. Leaves it for Xavier. Xavier is going to try the fadeaway Jay. That's no good. And that's going to be out of bounds. Oh, traveling violation. So, the Crimson Tide will get the basketball
back. We are just under four minutes remaining in this first half. Checking back into the game is number 15 Emanuel Nelson. He'll give a welldeserved break and probably a short one to number one Christian Vasquez. See if they can get Nelson a good look from downtown. [cheering] >> Wow, really good trap by the Rams there. Oh, nice drop off to Xavier and we're going to have a jump ball call and it's going to be Crimson Tide possession. [cheering] The trap by the Rams was quite intense there. Nice job getting the ball back out >> at Museroo. will inbound. See if the Titan gets some movement here away from the ball. Try to get something going. It's tough with Bab kind of patrolling the paint. Oh yeah, you got Nelson. Gets it out to Alindor. That
doesn't fall. Nice hands by At Museroo. Good hustle keeping it alive. Beautiful feed to Xavier. And that was all done courtesy of Adam Muserude. Nice finish by David Xavier at Musa who ripped it from the big fella and then nice pass finding Xavier who finished up in traffic. Good job Bab gets the wide open look from the elbow. Knocks it down. Shooters bounce goes to Bab. This is the thing. Every time the Tide gets one, the Rams just seem to have the answer right away. Xavier is now going to try the baseline Jay. That's no good. >> Rucker with the rebound. [screaming] Oh, >> Bab with the offensive rebound. Good hands by Xavier getting a hand on it, but it stays with the Rams. Rucker's going to try one from downtown. That doesn't go. Nelson
with the rebound [cheering] >> at Muserude finds Alendor, but that's poked away. This is DJ Reynolds now leading the break. Good defense by Nelson. And we're going to have a timeout called by coach Avery and the Rams with 234 remaining in this first half. Classical up by 12. So, if you're the Crimson Tide right now, the three-pointer has been falling at a high pace for the Rams. They've been knocking down some big shots from outside. And then also you're starting to see just the overwhelming presence that is Shaheen Bab very good around the basket really can hurt you on both ends of the floor and there's just not a whole I mean you just got to put a body on otherwise size is what it is right so hopefully the Tide for what they need
to continue to do offensively just keep moving the basketball try to get your players to their their spots on the floor and just move that basketball. Unfortunately, you're not going to get too many second and third chance opportunities with Bab and the bigger Rams hitting the paint. There's a look, nice profile of number one, Christian Vasquez. He's on fire in this one. And you see some of the notes there, the 28 points that he led all scorers with in the season opener last Tuesday against Malden. So, Christian Vasquez can definitely get it going for the Tide. He's been doing it since his freshman year, now a senior, four-year varsity player for the Crimson Tide, and has put together a really nice career. That's a corner look you don't want to give right now. And it's
going to have to be defense. The attention to detail there is going to have to be stronger on that corner. Devon Rucker is just not bothered by that closeout. It's got to be stronger than that. It's going to have to be tightly vested. Nelson that rims out. >> Bab gets it knocked away. Good defense by Nelson. And I get it. You know, you want to help off. You want to help off to the bigger Bab, but right now you got a redot shooter in Devon Rucker. You really can't leave any room in that corner right now for Rucker. Nice. Nice job by Jaden Sanchez getting it to go. [cheering] >> If you're keeping track, Rucker three for three. I tell you what, at Moose with a big steal on the passing lane, weaves it out
front to Xavier. That's no good. But Xavier is going to get a trip to the line. [applause] There's a good look at the senior doing a nice job off the bench. >> Take a look at this replay at Musu. They were looking for Rucker in the corner at Mouseroo. Had his eyes on it, read the passing lane, and then that leads to the Xavier transition the other way. See if the Tide can close this to singles before we get to halftime. 118 remaining here in the second quarter. Zav here knocks it down. >> [cheering] >> Bab with a strong take to the basket. He'll go to the line shooting two. >> [screaming] >> Bab goes two for two. That's eight points. Balance scoring for the Rams. Nelson's going to try it from the corner. That's
no good. Rebound goes to Baker. Nice drop off from Bab down low to Baker. And the Rams now starting to really add to their lead as we close in on halftime. Final 30 here in this first half. Xavier finds at Muserude and that's going to be a turnover. Rams basketball. Coach Avery quickly looking to get Devon Rucker back into the game. Actually, correction, that's number one, Deshawn Rucker. >> So Rucker checks into the game. And that's going out of bounds. It's going to stay with the Rams. Good defense by the Tide. Rams basketball. Two seconds left here. Look for any leak outs. They go to Bab down low. That's no good. Rims out. And that's how this first half will end. Rams asserting themselves in a big way here. Up by 16. Some some flashes
from the Crimson Tide. Let's see if they can string together for the whole second half. They're going to have to really continue to hit it on the defensive side and really try to make their closeouts to the corner. I mean, you could see it right there. Devon Rucker with three threes, Deshawn Rucker with a three, and DJ Reynolds also has a three to his name. So, they've spread it around with Devon Rucker being the major threat from the corner. But again, easy for me to say they have a major paint presence with Shahem Bab. So this is how you know you can get those opportunities when you have someone that patrols the paint like that that demands that kind of attention that does open it up for some of your other shooters around the floor.
This is why the Rams have a very good basketball team. They are complete. So for the Crimson Tide, hey we still have two more quarters here to go. They're going to have to get off to a very quick start in this third quarter and really try to get some of that momentum back on their side of things. So don't go anywhere. We have a whole second half coming your way, but right now it's the Rams on top 3620. Be back. [music] Heat. [music] >> [music] >> Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Hey, Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Yeah. [music] [music] All right. >> [music] [music] >> That's sweet. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> That's too much. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Go go go. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat.
Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] >> Hey [music] everybody. >> [music] [music] >> Hey everyone, welcome back. We are just moments away from starting our second half. It is the Lynn Classical Rams on top in this one, 36-20. And how they got there was by way of these top three players. They balanced the scoring sheet very well. And it's come Devon Rucker, three threes to his name. He's got nine points. DJ Reynolds has nine points. And the big fella, Shaheen Bab also with nine points. So between those three players, really balancing out the scoring. Leading the way for the Crimson Tide, it's Christian Vasquez, eight points. all with his signature shot coming in that mid-range where he does a really good job coming off
of screens, getting some space, and he loves that fadeaway. So, let's see if they can get some more of that. But right now, the Rams really having their way in that first half. They blended a very good combination of size and paint presence along with some great three-point shooting. It makes it very [music] tough on your defense because you have to be able to help out down low. you want to try to trap, you know, the the the ball and then all of a sudden players can leak out and get some of those looks. They still have to make those shots, but the Rams thus far have. The Crimson Tide did get some more consistent scoring going in that second quarter, but not before the Rams were able to kind of open up some of
that that that gap. And we're going to have to see see it happen. It's going to start and end on the defensive end. We've talked about it ad nauseium. The Tide hangs their hat on the defensive end and they're going to have to make it happen there. And then that's going to have to lead to some breakouts and getting some transition going offensively. But hey, we're excited bringing you the action. We are just about 25 seconds away from our third quarter and both teams now finished up their warm-ups. They're in their respective huddles and they're going to go over their game plans. The Rams want to just keep pushing the tempo and doing what they they've done to get themselves here. The Tide are going to have to really start to, you know, up their
intensity, bring some of that aggression and see if that can lead to a big tide comeback here as we are just a couple days out from Christmas. It's December 23rd, a rare 300 p.m. weekday game for the Ever Public Schools. uh vacation has started and uh I'm sure this was also if the Rams if if they haven't started it already, they certainly started it today with a half day. Hence why you have this start time here. So, it's going to be Rams basketball to open things up in this second half. [applause] Good strong take. That's DJ Reynolds. 11 points now for DJ at Museroo goes to King Dosta, >> but that's out of bounds. Good defense by the Rams knocking it off of the leg. of Everett. So Rams basketball after they got the first
two. >> Largest lead of the game up by 18. >> Make that 20. Shaheen Bab. And we're going to get a foul called on number one Deshawn Rucker. Come on. >> Vasquez drives to the basket, gets to his shot, knocks it down. Vasquez continuing to look good in that area. 10 points. Tied though. are going to have to really get it done with some stops. Good hands on the pass. Good defense right there. That's going to be a jump ball and that's going to be Crimson Tide basketball. Really good D down low by the Tide tying up that possession. Good movement by the Tide. Ball gets poked away. Bab out front. Wow, that was a next level take. And how about the coast to coast by Bab. Puts it on the deck, heads to the
basket, and then makes that layup. >> Bab's got 13. Take a look at this. Bab comes up with the steal, takes it himself, and then to make that basket. Starting on the other end, finishing it. Free throw doesn't go. He's going to stay with the Rams. That doesn't go. King Dosta with the rebound >> and that's blocked by Bab. Good strong take by Samir King Dosta. an entry pass finds the opposite arms of Bab. Rams now up 20. Make it 22. This one's getting away from the tide. Shahib Bab now with 15 at Musaru trying to settle things down. That's no good. Rams out in front running transition with numbers. This is Cameron Rucker. That's no good. Alendor. Nope. Rucker takes it away. Nelson with the rebound to Musimu. Nelson out in the corner. Back
to Alundor and we're going to have a foul right there. >> So, the Rams enter tonight's game. They are 2 and 0 with two league wins. They beat the River Patriots by 21 and then they had an eight-point win over Medford. >> Tied at one and two. King D Costa with a really nice take. Good finish by Samir. They needed that. And he'll go to the line with a chance at a three-point play. >> Good look at it on the replay. Nice job by King Dosta working in traffic. and then calmly knocks down the free throw. [cheering] [applause] >> Nice job by Jaden Sanchez anticipating the pass. Knocks it out of bounds. It'll stay with the Rams. And heading to the basket, that's DJ Reynolds as he gets fouled. DJ Reynolds in traffic. Gets it
to go. Big time basket off the window by DJ Reynolds. 13 now for Reynolds. And Alendor will go to the line. >> Reynolds is going to get called for the foul. We do want to take a moment before the game there was a moment of silence for longtime Crimson Tide manager Mike Mackey. So, we do want to send our thoughts and prayers and our our best wishes to the Mackey family for the passing of Mike Mackey who was a great longtime manager for the Crimson Tide. [cheering] Rest in peace, Mike. Alendor knocks down the first >> and two for two for J. Tied down by 19. 450 left in this third quarter. Bab rises up, makes it look easy. Shaheen Bab really getting it going for the Rams. And we're seeing now Shaheen putting the
ball on the deck and really showing his full versatility and skill set. All the tools are out today. Nice drop off to King Dosta. That's a almost had a great finish. It's a really good pass and good good play between Alendor and King Dosta. Just unable to get it to fall. Reynolds now drives baseline. They're going to call Sanchez for a foul. So the fouls picking up a little bit in the second half. >> Nice hands by King D Costa coming up with the steal and now finds Sanchez who finds Alindor. Good job by the Tide working transition and coach Boyce will now take a timeout to see if they can build off of that basket and try to get some defense, get a big run going. The Tide really need to get a run
here. Down by 19. Still time left. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] [music] Heat. Heat. >> [applause] >> So, Crimson Tide being led by Christian Vasquez is 10 points. Trying to keep themselves in this one here. Jaden Alendor has started to pick up some of the scoring himself. He has six and Samir King Dosta has five. For the Rams, the game's leading scorer is Shahem Bab with 17. DJ Reynolds not far behind the pace with 13. And then Devon Rucker has nine and Darren Baker has six. Rams basketball after the timeout. Four minutes left in this third quarter. Wow. Another three-point it goes. This time it's Cameron Rucker. >> Strong take by Alindor. Nice basket, the hoop, and some harm. Really good finish by Alindor with his off hand. throws in the scoop shot lefty and he'll
go to the line with a chance at a three-point play. >> Here's a look at it. Alson quickly heads to the basket. Watch this finish. Big time. >> Gets it to go. And Alindor has nine points. Strong play from the junior >> Bab getting defended well by Sanchez, but really good passing by the Rams. Finding the open man. Beautiful feed from Devon Rucker to Darren Baker. And the Rams have just had the answer at every turn here tonight. >> Alundor tries it from downtown. That doesn't go. >> [cheering] >> That's no good. Rebound stays with the Rams [cheering] and that's a foul. That's a shooting foul. Baker will head to the line. Shooting two was on King Dosta. [cheering] Bat rims out. Checking into the game for the Crimson Tide is number 10 Tyrese Joseph.
And Joseph will replace Samir King Dcasta. [cheering] >> Baker goes one for two at the line. The Rams with the steel. That's Reynolds. [cheering] 15 for DJ. And this one's getting away from the Crimson Tide right now. And now it's Cameron Rucker with the basket and the foul. So Rucker with a chance at a three-point play. This one's all classical. Look at Rucker. Comes around Sanchez with the rip and then finishes himself. Gets the late foul added on. There's a good look at Cameron Rucker who sinks it for the three-point play. Rucker now with six. That is Cameron Rucker. Alendor heads to the basket. Really like the aggressive play from Alindor >> heading to the basket trying to create something going. >> Jaden's really playing strong here. just rims out. That's Jaden's first miss at
the line. goes one for two, [cheering] >> four for five at the line. >> DJ Reynolds doesn't get it to go and it's going to be Crimson Tide basketball. And that was a very short break for King Dosta who checks back into the game replacing Joseph. Vasquez now finds Alendor. Good job breaking the press. Nice pass down low and a better move by King Dosta. The uptake gets Bab in the air. King Dosta with the finish. >> Seven points for Samir. [cheering] That's going to be a pushoff offensive foul against Cameron Rucker. So now the Tide with another opportunity to try to cut into this Rams lead. They are up by 24. [cheering] >> 155 remaining in this third quarter. Good spacing by the tide. That Museroo heads to the basket. That doesn't fall. At
Museroo just can't buy a bucket. He's made some really good takes. It just won't fall for him. Oh, that's good movement by Lin Classical. Quickly finding Shaheen Bab. And why not? You want the ball in his hands. They do a really good job with their floor spacing. They move the basketball really well. [cheering] Coach Avery really seeing you're seeing all of his fundamentals come together. Very disciplined team. It stays within itself and [screaming] itself is pretty complete. Let me tell you, Bab misses that one. [screaming] >> [screaming] >> Bab goes one for two and Shaheen with 18 points. The game's leading scorer again. Not far behind is DJ Reynolds. [cheering] Vasquez knocks it down. Christian continuing to headline the Crimson Tide offense. Nice outlet pass to Bab. [cheering] King D. Costa trailing. He'll get called
for the foul. >> What's really impressive with Shaheen Bab, and you see it there as you as the replay starts off, he can he does a really good job handling the basketball. [screaming] So, not only is his size a problem, he can put the ball on the deck, brings out a guard skill set. With that kind of size, I mean, this is why this kid is a big time player. >> Jump step. Vasquez over to at Musarude. Rams just sitting in that zone, >> daring the Tide to challenge them from the perimeter. And we're going to have a jump ball and it will stay with the Crimson Tide. And only six seconds on the shot clock. So that will reset the shot clock there. There's a look at coach >> boyce DJ coming down. And
the Rams come up with the steal on the inbound. >> Cameron Rucker over to DJ Reynolds. Back to Cameron from the top of the key three. That is no good. Rebound going to go to the Tide. Vasquez now. Quickly finds at Museroo. This is King Dosta. And that is a big time take by Samir. King Dosta getting the crowd on its feet with that acrobatic finish. Not an easy thing to do when you got the big fella Shaheen Bab bearing down on you. But King D Costa defying gravity gets that in to go off the window. Take a look at this. Hangs in the air for just that extra half Mississippi count. Throws it in off the window. Big time hoop by Samir. The junior has really played well here tonight. You can see how
exciting this player is and why the future definitely looks to Samir King Dcasta. We are in the present, but this junior can play. Telling you, he's big time. >> Gets it to [cheering] go. 10 points for King D. Costa. Tied scoring coming from the likes of Vasquez, King Dosta, and Alendor. [cheering] In fact, there's only three other scorers not named Vasquez, King Dosta, or Alundor. It's David Xavier, Jaden Sanchez, and Emanuel Nelson. So, you don't need to look too far from where the Tide is getting their scoring. Bab now back at the line. [cheering] Misses that one. Bab gets the second one to go and that is point number 20 for the senior. >> Vasquez is going to try it from downtown. That is no good. And after three quarters of play, the Rams still
holding strong in this one. They are up by 22,62 to 40 as we will let our Crimson Tide cheerleaders take us into the fourth quarter. Make up. You feel me? [cheering] Nice job as always by our Crimson Tide cheerleaders. Their spirit is always rising high around the building. >> Want to give a quick shout out to our crew today as they always do a terrific job. Vessel and thorough is back there directing. We got Jeff Nishio, our stream tech. Joe Camley is doing some engineering. We have Pedro Dilva on camera along with Evan Hubard and Tony Law. And we have Miguel Ventur bringing you all the fine works [cheering] of the real. So here we go. Fourth quarter now underway. And of course, our replay technician, Bird Marcher, our feathered friend. Save the best for
last. Bird Cameron Rucker nowhere to go on the baseline. Gets it back out to Devon Rucker. That doesn't go. But the Rams get their own rebound. And again with their own rebound. And that's got to drive you crazy because listen, this has been a team who hasn't missed too many shots anyway. And it wasn't by way of Shaheen Bab cleaning up the glass. So, you got to be able to you got to be able to hit the glass defensively and eliminate second and third chance opportunities. That's frustrating. >> Baker knocks it down. [screaming] Baker knocks down the second. >> Sanchez thinks about the three, puts it on the deck, is going to try. No, no one there. >> He's looking for a drop off pass. Vasquez with a big rebound. >> Tied down by 24.
We're just a minute into this fourth quarter. >> Nice look by At Musaroo to King Dost. And that's really good looking basketball. Great feed, strong finish. Good job. That's good looking basketball right there by the Tide. Now putting some of that fullcourt press on. Sanchez now leading the break out front to At Muser. Tide now trying to get something going. [cheering] Good feed by Sanchez, but Rams come up with the offensive board and coach Avery will take a timeout. Tied have it down to 20. Let's see if they can whittle this any further. >> [music] >> Here we go. Everybody [music] [cheering] see how the tide responds. after this Lind classical timeout. >> Getting some momentum going a little bit here. That was a wise timeout taken, but good job by the Tide starting this
quarter off the right way, turning turning good defense into better offense. And we've seen flashes of it. It's just when you're playing a team of the caliber of Lin Classical, it it can't be flashes. It has to be four solid quarters, four great quarters. And we know that's one thing that coach Boyce is saying inside that huddle. But you can see where the potential is there. >> Let's see how they finish up this 613. That's what we have left. Rams basketball up by 20. We try to break down the game into small fragments right now. So let's see if the tide 613 left. Maybe at the 4-minute mark they can get this down to 15. at the three-minute mark, maybe cut it to 10. That's one way to do it right there. You're going to
get the turnover right back. Attention not to detail on the inbounds. So, the Tide will get the ball back on the errant pass out of bounds or the errant receiving to the pass. The pass wasn't the problem, but died basketball. Let's see if they can get this under 20. at Museroo over to Vasquez. There it is. [cheering] Down by 18. Vasquez continues to cook. [cheering] He's got 16 points. Tid's leading scorer. Crosscourt pass goes to Reynolds. Good defense by King D. Costa. Rebound. Who's going to come up with it? Nice job by Alindor hitting the deck to come up with that one. >> Tied on a bit of a run here. >> That's no good. Oh, nice look down low. Unable to get the finish. Really good feed though. Good find. [cheering] >> That's no
good rebound by Vasquez. Good job hitting the glass. Oh, but Bab comes up with the steel. Bab's out front going the other way. So, Rams basketball underneath. got some new bodies in for the Crimson Tide. Well, Papia checks back in. We saw Josiah in the first half and joining him is number 24 Nathaniel Nelson. [cheering] And we're going to have a foul on the attempt by Shaheen Bab. Bab makes the first and two for two. >> 22 points now. Vasquez has loved that shot all night. Makes a big one there. That's 16 for Vasquez. Tide continuing to try to make a run here. Still got some uphill climbing to do as they are down by 18. There's a look at the replay. >> So, Vasquez continuing to work with that shot. It's been terrific all
night. It's something that we've come accustomed to as Crimson Tide fans watching him perform that over his four years here. He gets that kind of space. He does a very good job elevating, getting away from the basket and he can knock that down. Unfortunately, the Rams have built a pretty good lead. So, they they have some margin for error here and time is now working against the Crimson Tide as we are just about halfway through the fourth quarter. That's what I told you. >> [screaming] >> Good rebound by Alindor as that rims out. >> Oh, they needed that. Alundor's had a really strong game. [cheering] The Tide with only one three-pointer to their their name here and it's by way of Emanuel Nelson. It came at the end of the first quarter. Otherwise, they've [cheering]
been uh up against it with the Rams three-point barrage. Nice pass out front to Bappia. Good look by Nathaniel Melson. Tide have it down to 16. >> Three minutes left. Good play by Nelson there. Just poked it away. It stays with the Rams. Good pressure. [cheering] >> That's very close to 8 seconds. They just got it over. And wow, what a finish. Deshawn Rucker. Correction, that was Devon Rucker who was able to finish that. That's a big time three right there by Nathaniel Nelson. And they needed that. This is down to 15. 2 and 1/2 minutes left. Still, I mean, you got a slight shot. There's a chance. There's a chance. We'll see. 235 remaining. Tide have it to 15. It's going to have to be perfect. This is how these crazy things happen. It's
going to have to be perfect. Here's a look at the replay. Pappia finds Nelson who buries it from the wing. Nelson we saw make a really nice play defensively just before that. The sophomores come into this game. That's a sophomore connection between Pappia and Nelson. >> So at this point, I mean for this to happen, you're going to basically you're going to have to keep the Rams I mean they're going to have to stay around 60 70. I mean you really can't let them break above 70. This is going to have to be a big run. Otherwise, nonetheless, the effort and the play of the Tide in this fourth quarter is something that glass half full. I mean, this is this is exactly how you want to play. They're doing all the right things in
a number of phases and they're really starting to uh and you're seeing it with with the evaporation of this lead, but still Rams in a good place up by 15. Let's see if the see if the Tide can do something wild here. Now, that's one way to kind of nullify that. A beautiful outlet pass to the waiting arms of Darren Baker. Alendor is going to try it from the corner. That's good. All right. Threes are more than two. That's what you need. Alendor with a big three. Tied down by 14. Now you're going to see that furious press try to get some turnovers. Rucker heads to the basket. That's no good. Vasquez with the rebound. Needs help. Finds Nelson. Nelson quickly over to Pappia. Going to have to get it over half court. Does just
that. Papia heads to the basket. Nice take by Josiah. Ooh, just rims out. That was a strong take. [cheering] Oh, that would have been big if they could have got that to 12. All right. Nonetheless, let's get a stop here and try to hit that 12. Anyway, [screaming] knocked away. [cheering] >> So, out of bounds, Rams basketball. >> 21 on the shot clock, 137 on the game clock. >> [screaming] >> Bab working against Alindor that spins away but finds Rucker. >> Good rebound by Nathaniel Nelson. Quickly gets it over to Vasquez. Tide now pushing the pace. Vasquez heads to the basket. He'll get fouled. >> It's getting interesting here. I'll tell you that. It's getting real interesting. Tired of doing exactly what they need there. They've upped their pace big time offensively, getting down the
court quickly. They know they don't have much time to work with. Nelson's going to try it from downtown. That's good. Nathaniel Nelson, his life back into this building. Tide need to get back. This is an 11-point game. That's knocked away. [cheering] It's going to stay with the Rams. Good defense by the Tide. How about the play of Nathaniel Nelson off the bench. Two threes in the last couple minutes. Has this to an 11-point game. The Tide might get this to singles. Let's see if they can get the ball back. 121 now remaining. So, you're saying there's a chance? Need another big stop defensively or a turnover? Ball pressure. Here we go. Out of bounds. Oh, it's going to stay with classical. It was knocked off, deflected by the Crimson Tide. So, classical basketball. Bab to
inbound. [cheering] >> Good defense by Pappia and it's going to be Crimson Tide basketball. So Crimson Tide basketball 109 left in this fourth quarter down by 11. [applause] Nelson's going to try the corner three. That's good. Hold on a second. [screaming] Something's brewing here at the big house in the Big Hill. This is an eight-point game. Courtesy of the Nelson's. Emanuel Nelson now tries it. Going along with Nathaniel Nelson. They both have two threes. The Nelson's have combined for four threes. Three of them are in this fourth quarter. This is an eight-point game, folks. This was a 24-point classical re lead just a few minutes ago in this quarter. [screaming] >> So, here's a look. Both teams talking it over. the Tide. So, the Tide have gone to now a fullcourt trap press >> and
Classical has beat it a few times, but then the Tides done a very good job getting back defensively, getting into the half court and now they're starting to hit that glass. We talked about it early in the quarter. You cannot allow second and third chance opportunities. [cheering] The Tide have deleted that. They're now hitting the defensive glass. The pressure has been up 10fold. Let's see if they have some more in store. So 105 is on the clock. Tied down by eight. Pasco goes long. They go short down low to Rucker. And we're going to have a foul call. [cheering] It's the first team foul against the Tide, which may or may not be a good thing because while you do want to get that quick steal, you also want to try to get the ball
back every time there's a foul. Well, that's going to reset the shot clock. Seven fouls put you in the bonus. And that was the final foul for Jaden Alundor, who had himself a terrific basketball game. Now checking in is number 11, Saul for going to have to put on some pressure. Time is not in your side. The Rams can play the shot clock. [cheering] Got to get aggressive. [cheering] Offensive foul. It's coming back this way. It's coming back this way. 46 seconds now left on the clock. Bab call for the offensive foul. Really good defense right there by Emanuel Nelson. What do the tide have in store now? Oh, has the tide turned in this one? >> Nelson now moving around players on the other end of the court. Papia will pilot the Crimson Tide
offense. [cheering] Got to be quick. Got to be efficient. Papia sees a lane, heads to the basket. Big steal by Rucker. [cheering] That was a big steal by Cameron Rucker. And we're going to get a foul right there. [cheering] That steal might have done it. Oh, that was big. Nice take by Pappia heading to the basket, but meeting the strong defensive play of Cameron Rucker coming up with that rip. And now this is where the foul situation doesn't help if you're on the Crimson Tide side of things. They only have two team fouls at this point. You have to foul to get the basketball back. You want to try to put them at the line in a one-on-one situation, hope for the miss. Well, you got to get the 17 foul. So, the Tide are
going to have to foul five more times just to put classical in the bonus. Correction, I'm sorry, not seven. Got to get to five. So, they'll have to foul three more times. Five fouls will put you in the bonus. But with only 30 seconds left, you're in no man's land right now. There's a look at that offensive foul on Shaheen Bab that had gotten the tied possession just a moment ago. How about this action, though? I mean, I tell you what, if you had tuned in or if you were watching, you might have you might have tuned away. This game wasn't looking too good. It was all classical. If you were wearing, you know, the green clad Rams jersey, you were fine with it. But anyone else, maybe this turns your way. I hope you
stayed with it. I hope you flip back because this one has really turned into a bond burner. It's a Rams basketball off of the foul. Tide really need a steal. Oh, all right. You're going to have to foul. And they do just that. Saul Flores with the foul. You have to. 3 seconds come off the clock. And how about that? I'm glad I actually was wrong. I was reading the team fouls off of Classical's score uh side of the scoreboard. So that that foul actually just put the Tide into the bonus. So that's uh that's on me and I'm actually glad that I was wrong there. Either way, Rams are going to have to miss at the line and Cameron Rucker does not do that. So this is very simple. The Rams make their free
throws. They will walk out of this gym winners. But even even a miss with some makes can really turn [screaming] this and continue to create a very interesting [cheering] wild atmosphere. Okay, Rocka knocks them both down. Rams up by 10. Nelson's going to try it from downtown. That's no good. >> And we're going to have a jump ball, but the arrow is favoring the Rams. >> So, good effort. Really good effort right there. And that was a foul >> by Emanuel Nelson. >> Cameron Rucker back to the line. who just made the previous two. And Rucker, shutting the door on this one misses that one. But now with 10 seconds left, Rucker knocks it away. 7 seconds. tied basketball down 11, mounting a furious comeback that's going to fall just short. But again, a lot
that you can take into the next game, stuff that you can build on that gets stolen and we're going to get a foul there. And that's just to fill the stat sheet. Darren Baker will go to the line. [cheering] And also again, I want to point out there is no one in one. So once you get to five, it's just it's just like the the pros. You get to five, you're shooting two. [cheering] Those are those are some of the uh the changes that have uh happened the last couple years. [applause and cheering] The fouls reset after each play just like the pros do. >> [screaming] >> Baker knocks down the first and second. >> Emanuel Nelson's going to try it from downtown. That's no good. And we have a final here at Ever High
School. It's the Lind Classical Rams taking this one, 75-62. But again, not before a furious comeback that led to a very exciting finish here at Ever High School. You got to really give it up to the Crimson Tide. They played real well down the stretch. They made things really interesting. You also have to give it to the L Classical Rams. They put themselves in that position. They led throughout much of this ball game. In fact, albeit the two nothing lead the Crimson Tide had early, Classical led the rest of the game. They had it up to nine, up to 11. It went up to as many as 20 actually went up to as many as 29 points. It was 24 in that fourth quarter before the Tide had cut it to eight with the basketball.
Everyone was on their feet at that point. You said you had to be perfect. You did almost. But again, a lot of things you can take into that Crimson Tide locker room to build for the next game. And for the Rams, you're seeing why they're the top top dog right now or top rim in this case, continuing their undefeated start to the season. building off of what was a very strong last year. Coach Avery and his Rams have quite an outfit and [music] they have quite a team that's going to be tough for anyone to play with. Coach Boyce and his Crimson Tide again, a lot you can build on here. You got to just get down get down back to the basics, get back to four quarters of basketball, but the talent is there.
Going to start stacking some wins and they have plenty to look forward to for the Crimson Tide. I know they'll be ready to go. But for all of us here on behalf of the crew, I'm Josh Delgazo.
