002Hey, [music] hey, hey. >> [music] [music] >> Yeah. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Hey, hey, hey. [music] >> [music] >> Hello and good evening. Welcome into Paul Kavanaaugh Gymnasium for today's league matchup between the Ever Crimson Tide and the Lynn English Bulldogs. My name is Ani Mosmani and joining me is Jonathan Bird Marsha. >> Hey guys. Hey. Both teams are entering this matchup with a one and five record, but don't let that fool you because both programs are known to be really good and competitive. It's a game like today that could really turn the tide hot, all pun intended, for the rest of the season. So, we're excited to see what the Crimson Tide has in store for us today as we are on the road with our small camera crew with the AHS TV

00315. >> Yes, we are. >> What do you think uh are some of the keys to success? Discipline. They're a one in5 team. They got listen to coach. Discipline. Do what the co coach tells you to do. Run the plays that he wants you to play. I want you to run. Excuse me. I'm a little excited right now. Uh ball security. You got to keep the ball in your possession. Turnovers are killing this team. They've been killing this team the past three or four games. Every time I watch these guys is a turn, turn over. So hopefully they work on that. And the last one is they got to box out and grab rebounds. You got a couple big guys in there, you know, you got Jamal Nelson and a few other big guys in

004there that should get the job done and grab the rebounds. And here's the national anthem. And we'll be right back right after the national anthem. >> [music] [music] >> So yeah, just [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] >> [applause] >> And now for tonight's starting line up first number one senior [applause] junior number a senior number three Sanchez. A junior number 14, Jaden Al. A sophomore number 24, Nathaniel Nelson. And now for your living dogs, a senior number one. And there you have it for the opening lineups. Tip off is slated to start in just a couple of moments. Once again, my name is Mosmani. Joining me is Jonathan Bar Marshan. Third Marsh, >> today's January 6th, Tuesday, and we had a 7:00 start time. >> Yes, we do. >> A lot of travel games have

005been 7:00 recently, I've noticed. But when we're at home, it's mostly 6 p.m. games. >> I've noticed that lately. >> You know, I've also noticed the days cuz at up in the Marramac Valley Conference, most of the games are on Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, but here in the GBL, it seems like to be on a Tuesday, on a Thursday. That's something I just noticed. >> Yep. And once in a while on a Saturday, you get a Saturday game once in blue mode, which is cool. >> All right, tip offs coming any second now. >> At center we have Jaden correction Samir Kinga squaring off against Miguel Pñena and then English will win the opening tip off possession goes into the hands of Navy Kasar Rosario. Ever playing man. Oh, nice pass right there. Just couldn't finish.

006Wide open was number three Isaac Yankee. Len English with the offensive rebound. Yankee pulls up for three. And off the back iron, another offensive rebound goes to Lyn English. Finds a wide open Yuri Figuro and he scores the opening bucket from beyond the arc. >> Yep. Kissing it right off the glass there. Fullourt press for Lyn English. Here's Christian Vasquez with pulls up from mid-range off the back iron and Yuri gets the rebound. Good pressure by the Ever defense. Still ends up in the hands of Lynn English misses that Christian Vasquez couldn't reels that in. Going to be out of bounds and possession goes to Lynn English once again. >> Already two offensive rebounds. Crimson T's got to stop boxing out. That was a nice pass they had over there. the Bulldogs had cutting across

007in the middle, but he just fell short on the layup there. >> Thinking about the three, passes it out to Figarero. The only score so far in the game, rebounded by Dcasta pushes it up. >> Excuse me, now Zaza to Christian Vasquez. Vasquez to Nelson. Nelson pulls up for a three. Nothing but net. 343 all tied at three. >> Yep. Answers answers right back. Sean half court press and breaks that up. Basquez back there setting up the play. Drebles loses it a little bit. They double team him. Oh, got rid of it quick. Kicks it out for another three. That's good. And now it's Isaac Yankee two for two from three to open things up in the opening quarter of this game. >> Then English with a good fullcourt press. Alson Dor got smothered at

008the half court line. Lyn English kicks it out. putting up. Oh my god. No, it should be good. >> I can I can hear them. [applause] >> [applause] >> Tied off West Gar. Everett putting up the press as well. Trapped Len English. And it's going to be a timeout. I believe the timeout goes to Len English. But so far 83 English with the lead. And we on a separate note, we here at Ever High School is happy to travel with our team and deliver you the action on cable and YouTube. Thank you for tuning in. >> We appreciate it so much. >> Linen English is one of three of the main public high schools in the fifth largest school district in Massachusetts. Lynn has three major high schools. Lin English, Lynn Classical, and Lin Techch.

009And of course, they have the private school, St. Mary's. And all usually have really good athletic programs across all sports. So, Lynn with 17,000 enrolled students in the public school system. A lot of talent to be found. A lot of challenging [ __ ] around here. Three schools that get done too. And the other two schools are over 500. >> Lyn Classical 4 and one. But right now we're focusing on Lin English as they have a turnover and they commit a foul on D Costa. It's going to be Ever Ball. If you're just joining us or you've been with us from the beginning, we might have a little technical difficulty in the beginning. We apologize, but we're back on now for a real and we're happy that you're joining us for some live action of high school

010varsity basketball between the Ever Crimson Tide and the Len English Bulldogs. Ever with good ball movement around the perimeter. Christian Vasquez escapes the double team. Stops at the baseline, kicks it out to a Mesaude back to Allison Door. Pulls up from three just a little bit off. Rebounded by Figarero. Yankee drives it up. Yankee so far with all eight points for Lynn English. Good defense by Jaden Sanchez. Now he's hounding Rosario forces turned over coralled by Vasquez tries to find Sanchez. >> Stays with the Crimson Tide. Good defensive possession for Everett. It's going to be eight. Mesaude with the inbound. A Serude to Vasquez. Vasquez kicks it out to Alison Dor tries to have a strong move in but gets smothered by >> Miguel Pena. Perimeter passing for English. Pñena pulls up. Excuse me. That

011was the Gario. Vasquez bringing it up. Nice move there. Pulling out the offense. This is the version of Flex. He still learns in high school, but they switched up and over since the late '90s. Alson door with the lane up the middle and gets fouled going up. It's going to be a free throw for two shot attempts. >> Yes, Josh said in the previous game there's no more one-on-one shot to go on the bonus. So, I know it's still early in the first quarter, but just let everybody know that >> foul committed by >> I think I missed the number on the foul, but it's his first free throw attempt. This is the first one and we're going to have a substitution here. Figaro and Pena checks out and coming in is number 22 who

012is not on the varsity roster that we have and also number two Leslie Christomo. So we apologize to number 22 who will be referred to his by his jersey number who corrals the missed free throw attempt from the corner and in pass number 13 Jacobe Vio senior for the Bulldogs 113. Thank you Bird. Strong fullcourt pressure by the Bulldogs. >> Three or five from beyond the >> first two three-pointers was by Isaac Yankee. Scored the first eight points. And it's going to be foul on Lyn English. Everett to inbound quickly to the corner. There's Christian Vasquez. A Seru Vasquez, who's opened in the middle, kicks it out to Vasquez for a three-point attempt off off the back iron. That's good steel. Threeon-one situation here. He jumps it down to Sanchez, back to Vasquez, and scores

013it for a quick fast break point. 115 Lightning was still still leading. >> That's super tai's first point in like three minutes give or take. >> Two minutes left. Oh, >> what a block by D Costa off the hands of Fero. Turnover by Lin English. Forced by the pressure of King Dosta. That's going to be every ball >> and it's going to be >> six by moves up >> quick fourpoint stretch for the Crimson Tire. Four and0 run in the last 20 seconds. 117. Yankee fakes him out from the three, pulls up and misses. Back from the corner is number five. Couldn't get that to sink in. Rebounded by the Crimson Tide. And that's going to be a turnover on the Ken side. So Figaro to inbound to Christomo. Double team gets breaks through with

014the prep. uh through the press. Three-point attempt. No good by Wesley Christomo. Vazquez got that out just in time. Here's Vasquez. Kicks to the corner to Alison Door. Pulls up for three. And once again, it's that back iron of that side of the court. >> Strong take by Faggerero of the junior for the Bulldogs. Making it look easy with the nice layup. Wide open down Bay low is Alison Dor, but he's going to get caught with the travel. Hit him with a pump fake. And we're going to get a substitute for Everett. Coming out is King Dasa. And coming in is number 21, Josiah Papio. >> Y that last one. I've been struggling with that one. Yankee >> 11 of the 15 points in this opening quarter. >> Here's number 21. He gets fouled. Josiah

015Papappia, the sophomore guard for the Crimson Tide, and he's going to be the one to inbound it after that foul committed by Lynn English. throws it back deep to >> Sanchez. I'm going to familiarize myself with the names here for a second. Sorry about that, but thank you for filling in, bird. 10 seconds in the first quarter. 15 seconds to score Bulldogs up. Let's see if Len English is going to try to pull out a buzzer beater here. You know, we all love a good buzzer beater. But you know what? We love good defense as well. I think that's going to stay. >> Nope, it is. It's Everest ball. Aaroo to inbound. 8 seconds left. King Dasa comes back into the game. [applause] Sanchez. King Dasa trying to drive it up. Pulls up, catches all

016those hands for the foul, and he's going to be sent to the free throw line. >> I'll take that with two seconds left. >> His first trip to the free throw line junior center for the Crimson Tide. First free throw attempt up and off the back. Aaron, we're going to have a substitution. Emanuel Nelson is checking in for Jaden Alendor. >> The fourth attempt at the free throw line >> and second intense bounces out. pressure defense and shot couldn't get off before the buzzer. That would be the end of the first quarter with the score 157. Lynn English leading. >> Like I said before the game, discipline, take care of the ball, protect it. Turnovers, it's not helping them. Got to take care of the turnovers. And they got to box out cuz if they

017got like right off the bat, they got two offensive rebounds. Yeah, about something to get better as the quarter progressed. Hit the Bulldog field. >> Lynn English is being coached by first year head coach Dina Yaveza, class of 1992. So, he's home bred here at Lint English High School. And joining him is a fellow family member as assistant coach CV Yaveza. I was talking to Josh Gazer earlier and he was telling me that the Yaveza family does have a prominence in the Lynn athletics world. Okay. >> So, it's cool to see Gina Yza come back to his alma moater and coach in his first year. Rough start, but Lyn English did have a lot of tough non-conference opponents. >> And we're getting back to league play for the English Bulldogs. As you can see the

018post the cameras on him hugging his player telling calm down take it easy on the 10. >> Coming off the timeout is going to be the Crimson Tide as Lyn English did win the opening tip off. So inbounding is Nathaniel Nelson to Adam Mr. Arude. Here's eight M serude looking for passing options finds Vasquez. Good movement by the Crimson Tide on the offensive end, but letting English zone really locking it down here. But here's Vasquez open for three. Couldn't get that to sink in. Best way to break in zone press is passing the ball. And we did find the open Vasquez. It's a good ball movement. >> Try doing the same thing, too. They start off as man. I believe they're in zone as well. >> Forcing a turnover at the baseline. >> Beautiful thing.

019by break and one breaks a fullourt press. Takes the uh attempted charge. Ball goes in and now we're out to the free throw line for a third time in this game. 9:15 first team foul for this quarter. Foul committed by number 10 of Lin English, Josiah Peralta. his first personal and the free throw attempt is good to make it a threepoint play for Christian Vasquez. Tied is one of the free throw line tonight. Open from the corner was Michael Pena. Correction, that was Kaishan Seer with that three-point attempt from the corner. He had a nice line that >> door to Vasquez. Vasquez down low to King D Costa. Back out to Vasquez. Open for three. Pulls up and sinks it in. 1315. One possession game for the Crimson Tide. And that's the first three-pointer to

020sink for the Crimson Tide as well. >> Bask eight points tonight out of 13. Nice move. >> Almost forced a turnover. Breaks a double team. Alson door. Left seer open. But offensive rebound goes to Peralta, the sophomore for Lane English. Puts it back in. 1713. >> Deep from the wing. Got underneath. Got that rebound. >> Deep to Nathaniel Nelson. Pulls up from the corner. No good. Rebound goes to Lyn English. Here's Yankee who pass it to Peralta. Elson Door with the rebound. Vasquez to the corner to Nelson. Back to Vasquez. All right. So, ZV drives in, kicks it out to Nelson, pulls up from the corner. There we go. >> Two straight three-pointers for the Crimson Tide. And the lead for the Lynn English Bulldogs get cut down to one. >> That's a six point

021tonight. Nelson >> two strong no good. Rebound goes to for the Crimson Tide. Vasquez with the fast break opportunity and the first lead for the Tide. 1817. Timeout called by Lynn English. >> That was great by the Tide. They found the groove. Now they're in the move and they're only down a point here in the second quarter. >> They're up a point. Up a point, excuse me. >> Two straight three-pointers coming from Vasquez and then Nelson. The Crimson Tide being led by thirdyear head coach Gerard Boyce >> who has two tournaments under his belt in the past two seasons. his two sons, assistant coaches, Jerel Boyce and Gerard Boyce, also former players for the Crimson Tide basketball program. >> I believe one of them made a th00and point or 2,000 point club. >> That was

022Gerard Boyce who joined the 10,00 point club for the Crimson Tide. >> I think he was a four-year varsity starter. >> And Gerald Boyce was also a player on the Crimson Tide football team. And there's a couple other voices that made it through or I don't know if they're currently enrolled at Ever High School, but the youngest recent is either currently enrolled or just recently graduated. I think just recently graduated. I know you're talking about Back to the action. 212 zone defense for the tide. Oh boy. >> Jacobe V gets that to sink in right off the timeout. Senior for the Bulldogs takes back the lead 2018. Easy break of the fullcourt press. >> Alison Door wide open. Currently tied at 20 pending this second trip to the free throw line by Allison Door. Great

023take on the drawing the foul trying to complete the point >> and he does. Tai takes back the one-point lead. Foul was committed by Jacobe Vars. Costa Rosario looking for his options gettingounded by Aarude. Good pump fake by V. Couldn't get that to sink in. >> Oh boy. Heard a lot of slap on that ball there when he took the seal. He >> that from up here and foul committed by Nathaniel Nelson, sophomore guard play the defense. >> First team foul for Everett in this second quarter. >> That's pretty good with 4 minutes and 30 seconds and change. Clean defense. >> Yankee to feel has two options to his right. Wide open for three. Lenish doesn't see him just yet. Alison Door forces their turn uh turnover and gets it in on the fast break.

024Three-point lead. Good play by Jaden Door. He's a five-point snipe. pulls up from deep. >> Rebound goes to Lin English. Here's Yankee. Pulls up from mid-range off the backboard. No good. Rebound goes to Everett. Nelson 28. Mr. Arude. Kicks it up to King. Dosta loses his handle. >> I thought he was I thought someone was there. I thought he was waiting for somebody there behind the back pass >> and never commits the defensive foul. voice but not >> it's going to be a charging call or a blocking call on a miss comes in >> a Mr. Rude goes to the bench. Also on the court for the Crim Tide is Emanuel Nelson. Going to leave me Birds play the game. Wide open from the corner and he sinks it in. Josiah Peralta, sophomore tied at

02523 here in the second quarter. Austin door takes it up and gets a double team and the fouls committed on the floor by the Bulldogs. >> First quarter sluggish for the people tied. Now they picked it up and they got the game tied with 334 here to go. Second quarter >> finds out some door wide open. loses a handle. Ball goes back to Nelson, but turns it over. Wide open for the fast break is Kashan Seer. Tan Seer right there. Bulldogs go up by two and Nelson caught with a traveling and it's going to be a turnover at half court. Len English has a two-point lead 2523 here in the second quarter and eight MU subs back in coming out is Nathaniel Nelson. >> Sanchez on the defense. Ball goes to the corner. Double team's

026coming and Lynn English calls out that timeout immediately. That was real smart by him too because he got absolutely smothered by the two players right there. >> Colobby ve the senior the one who got caught in the corner. >> It was a spot called by him. 311 left here in the second quarter. We're getting down here in Lynn. Huge shout out to an extension to the Crimson Tide is our video operator Tony Lelaw making the trip and of course our live streaming extraordinaire Jeff Hatio who helps set this up. Thank you for tuning in and appreciating our hard work as we like to showcase the accomplishments and the excitement of Everett Athletics. >> Several hundred people watching us on YouTube right now. really appreciate it like you said >> and game will also be available

027on I believe RCN if that's the local cable network in Everett or Xfinity >> Comcast Infinity >> Verizon >> yeah when I was at ECTV many moons ago it was just uh Comcast/ Verizon not Verizon Comcast and then I think Verizon and the I see him jumping after I move on to bigger and better field. >> Back to action. Here's V looking for Yankee in the back court. Gets hounded by Allison Door. Three-point attempt. No good. >> I'm going to call start call threes from now on. >> King Dasa gets fouled as he tries to corral the loose ball. Good defense by the Crimson Tide. They're absolutely flooding the Bulldogs in that possession. >> So the Bulldogs have four personal fouls here in this quarter. One more in the bonus. >> D Costa down low.

028Kicks it out to Austin Dor had a lane. I I was hoping for a jump ball there. I mean, he did reach it with a wrist right there. V coming out and coming in on the substitution is original starter Fero the junior wearing number one. >> Yeah, he came in for a minute. Oh, another steal. I think his favorite spot. >> What an interception by Sanchez, but he turns the ball over. Yankee wide open. Dumps it off to number five for the easy two Kan Seer. 2723 lead back up to four for the Bulldogs. King Dosta gets fouled hard down low and he's going to be sent to the free throw line but lands terribly on his back. He might need a minute. >> Yeah, Patella was telling set his feet >> and he and

029the trainer is going to come out and check up on him. Hopefully he just lost his breath. >> Checking out his lower back after taking that charge by the Bulldogs. We're going to take a minute here to check on his condition. [applause] >> Just needed a minute. >> Hard fall. He needed a minute. Felt the impact and he should be good to go, it seems. Coach is asking if he's all right. Give him a nice little dap there. Said, "All right, we'll keep you in." >> Solid dap. Heard her from all the way over here in this loud gym. Paul Kavanagh Fieldhouse inside the Lin English High School. for lap two. First attempts no good and we're going to get a substitute forever. Vasquez was coming in for Nelson. 2 minutes and 17 seconds left

030in this first half of play. Second one good score is 24-27. Len English leading. Sanchez playing tight for the right free throw line. >> Good defensive rotation on that Ever zone. Forces a miss by Yankee Vazquez with the rebound. Takes it up court. Out to a miss. Now he's setting up the offense. Takes a pick by door. King to Costa down low to a Seru to the corner. Sanchez drives baseline. Good find to King Tagosta and sinks it in 2627 and he's going to make it back to the line. What a assist by Sanchez. >> Good ball movement there by the Crimson Tide. Yeah, >> Christomo getting significant playing time as a sub. Here's a pass to Kishan Seer who sinks it in for three. approaching the final minute of the first half. Hey, Miss to Vasquez. Vasquez from the corner to respond. Couldn't get that to go

So, he's going to go to the line shooting for two. >> Great physical basketball being played right now by both teams. for the last points for the Bulldogs. Nice corner over there. >> Jurro Figuro to shoot the uh free throws here. First one bounces out. >> Yeah, this is the first trip they've been to the free throw line >> in a while. As as we said earlier, this is only the third team foul for the Crimson Tide the second half. So before that it was only two >> with 30 seconds remaining. Vasquez kicks it out to eight. Linton English leads by one possession 30-27. My name is Animosmani and joining me is Jonathan Bird Marshan. We're going to take a break here for halftime. Uh we acknowledge that there are some technical difficulties with our audio, so we apologize for that if you're watching this on the live stream. We'll get moves out in the second half, but we hope you catch second half action and the remainder

As you can see, Lynn English Bulldogs. Aim. How you doing, bud? >> Doing good. And we want to apologize to our live viewers for audio troubles that we've been experiencing through the podcast, but we'll smooth things over at some point. But thank you for your patience staying with us as we have another two quarters of high school varsity basketball to play between two league opponents who are looking for the second win of the season and turn things around for the remainder of this MIAA season. the Crimson been a very entertaining game. A lot of back and forth. >> Yes. Yes. I mean, the

036first quarter was a little sloppy, then got very entertaining in the second quarter, which was really good. The Crimson Tide were trailing and they tied it up. Got the lead. They went back and forth a little bit. A few mental mistakes, but you know, they're still in this thing. They're down trailing by three and they just got to keep their discipline and box out and just grab rebounds. I mean, Lynn English, I think, has about like I lost count, um, seven or eight offensive rebounds in the first half. So, that has to change. >> And the leading scoreer of the game is a person that's inbounding for the Bulldogs, but Isaac Yankee who kicks it out to V back up top and he does draw the foul on King Dasa. He's going to be sent

037to the line to set things off in the second half. >> First team foul on Everett who played a clean defensive game in that first half. >> Yes, they did. Yes, they did. >> Yeah. Not one foul until the second quarter with like what 3 or 4 minutes left, give or take. That's pretty impressive. 12 minutes, no fouls. And we got the bonus too there in this late in the second quarter. Here's the free throw. Oh, in and out. >> Cross his first attempt. I think that's his first time reaching the line. It's going to be a lot of first timers for uh the Bulldogs who reach to the line given how clean the game has been played up to this point. Second attempt good by Costa Rio still continuing with their fullourt trap. Oh,

038>> gets a hand on it and is going to force an inbound by a Seru near half court. Aoon running things in this opening possession for the Crimson Tired in the first second half. >> Looks like they're going manto man the second half here. Interesting. >> Oh no, they're not. They're back in zone. >> There we go. is open for three. >> There it is. >> His second three-point attempt. Good. >> Beautiful. >> 3031 trailing by one. Good defense by King Dosta. Slaps it out of bounds in the half court press for us. Possession stays with the Bulldogs. >> Has 11 points tonight. >> Rosario running the offense again. >> Oh, he had it. Oh, almost got trapped by Aean Serude. >> Good pressure and defense all around by the Crimson. Tied at the three-point

039attempt is no good. But offensive rebound goes to Miguel Pña >> but come back the other way. Driving kicks it out. Vasquez drilling the top of the key now going on the wing. Adams got it now. >> Why is there Okay, never mind. >> Two players on the side. I saw that. Good pick by Vasquez. >> Getting physical. I like it. >> And here's Sanchez with the lane. Takes it down low. Good to >> D Costa. >> Snatches back the one-point lead. >> And now switching to fullcourt press. >> Nice >> in the second half. >> King Dasa with six points tonight. >> Field gets smothered and off court but dumps it off to Ka Rosario. Loses the ball. key to it back >> misses. >> Here we go with the track me back and

040forth >> and Yankee gets fouled on the floor as he was trying to drive the lane and float it up. >> A lot of good close calls. Yeah, >> in this second half of the year defense, they force >> in the past like minute or so it's been back and forth, back and forth like a train off the tracks. >> And there you go. They force a turnover right [laughter] off the inbound here. A threeman wall at the inbound line. Ball sails far. A miss is going to inbound iter from under the hoop. >> Yeah, miscommunication there by the Bulldogs. >> Rashing Sanchez inbounding it to Aude. Let's see if the Crimson Tide runs here >> in this possession. >> Coming on to a one-point lead. >> Down low. Yes. Blocked by Field. [cheering] >>

041Bill Bell with the block. >> Take it underneath. >> One of the senior starters for the Bulldogs. A Vegas to inbound it to the corner. >> [cheering] >> Jasper setting up his offense and pulls up from mid range. No good. What a hustle rebound attempt by Sanchez. And I think >> it was a f I think it was over the back or a block. >> A block on Lin English. The possession stays with the Crimson Tide. >> What a hustle play by Sanchez reaching up. >> Yeah, he's over two players. >> I thought the Reb was going to call over the back uh foul there. But nope >> cuz the way he saw it in I was like oh boy [laughter] who to do who gets it in. >> Largest ties the largest lead of

042the game for the crimson tie. Let's see if they could head on to it or extend it. >> Oh through his legs vo tries to get lay it in. >> That's a jump ball. >> It'll be possession go to print and tie. That was one v2 down low. Good hustle by King Dosta. >> Yes, it was >> that mislabeled right there. He He just He didn't even jump. He just grabbed it and the other two players just grabbed on the ball. >> Oh, there we go. >> Breaks the boy up. Gets blocked >> and therefore possession stays with the Ever Crimson Tide. T coming a lot of energy in the second half. What a great rest in whatever locker room English has here in the high school. >> And whatever motivational speech the coaches gave

043them too. >> Kingo post. >> Oh yeah. [cheering] >> Is it and one or is it just a timeout? >> It's a timeout. Counts. 3631. Officially the largest lead for the Crimson Tide. And that's how they're going to start off the second half. just snatching the lead and extending it to five points forcing a timeout while the England was their first of the second half. >> So King Das has eight points so far and >> four of them coming to possessions. >> Oh yeah, >> Christian Vasquez has 11 points and Jaden Asendor has four and Nathaniel Nelson has six. Not bad for the Crimson Tide this first three minutes. >> Yep. >> Looking forward to the Patriots this Sunday. Be exciting Sunday night game. Celtics are kicking butt. They're in second place. No one saw

044that coming, which is great. Bruins are doing Bruins things. They'll be in making the playoffs. And the Red Sox once again have not made a move. [laughter] And I worked there for a decade, so I'm used to that. And you know, given that we're in the Greater Boston League and this is Massachusetts, we do have to give some sports updates of what's going around in the professional world. >> Oh, I'm excited for the Olympics in a month. >> Coming. You mean FIFA? >> That's coming in the summer. >> Winter Olympics. >> I will be going to one of those. >> I totally missed the Winter Olympics. I was looking forward to the FIFA. >> I am the coming. I'm excited for a game or two. I don't care who's playing. Seven matches being played right

045here at Gillette Stadium. Back to varsity basketball and they're pressing hard, trapping. >> Len English gets it past half court. Here's V. He's been a hustler for the Bulldogs. So has Yankee. He kicks it out to Nice move. >> Figarero back to Yankee. Here's V. Pulls up from three. >> Rebound goes to Vasquez. >> Good defense right there. Good movement by the L English offense right there too. Could be tied up by five now. >> L English crowd making some noise. >> Pulls up from three. >> Back iron. >> A offensive foul. That was that was a good solid offensive foul right there. The steer plant and he just went backwards. Good awareness by the Bulldogs to draw that foul. Yeah. >> High basketball IQ. Yes. >> But Ever still playing that fullcourt press and

046it is flooding. >> Figarero three-point attempt. No good. >> Per Sanchez back to >> Vasquez. Hey, Mr. Rude. Vasquez. Adam gets the ball back on top of the key. 20 seconds on the shot clock. Slowing it down, setting it up. >> Sanchez looking looking for options down low. Couldn't find Vasquez. And Fero with an easy steal and layin. 3336. >> Could be making those mistakes this late in the second half. Leninger's back in the fullcourt press. Nice. >> King of Dasa down low. Good post up. Um yeah. Uh >> couldn't get the angle but draws a foul. So he's going to the free throw line. >> I was just supposed to say we he just shot it through the basketball and off the glass and back in the basket. >> Obviously he's going the len

047too. I never seen that. >> It's the angles. What can you do? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> But good though. >> Good footwork down low. >> Absolutely. Drawing the foul. go on the trip again to the free throw line. First attempt up and too strong. [cheering] He's two for six right now at the free throw line. Free throws are important. I remember when I was playing sit the free throw line, just keep shooting till you miss. >> Nathaniel Nelson checks in for Jaden Sanchez. So, he's back into the game. Second attempt's good. >> And so ever has a four-point lead. 3733. >> Keeping up the fullcourt press. Edmond Serude up top. Costa Rosario just breaks through, finds a lane, couldn't get it in. A Seru gets fouled. >> Yeah, he got tripped. He got tripped. And

048that'll be I think that's his third >> third team foul for the L English Bulldogs. >> Both teams have three fouls in this quarter right now. Adam will take it out. Foul committed by reveal. Three personals. Another turnover by >> number one Yuri Faggerero and gets the end. One's [cheering] first points of the night. Figuro had a three-pointer in the first half, but has been quiet since then. >> Oh, my apologies. Yep, I forgot about that one. >> And now he has an opportunity to make another three-point play. And if he makes it in, it will cut the lead down to one for the Crimson Tide. He misses. And so Crimson Tide hold on to a two-point lead. Christian Tai just got to stay calm, cool, and collective on the offense. Find the open shots

049like this. Nelson for three. >> Bounces out. That was a good look >> and a good shot attempt. >> Christomo for three. No good. Hey, Mr. Arude with a rebound up. >> Nelson on the fast break [cheering] >> and Fero just a monster on defense. two straight steals and a block in consecutive possessions. >> That's what we call locked in. >> As this team trails by two, trying to get them back ahead of the Crimson Tie here. >> Senior David Xavier checks into the game for the first time. Checks in for King Dosta. Vazquez looking for options and a miss looking to set things up. Good distributor of the ball. Here's Vazquez. A good allrounder. Back to Vasquez. Thought about the three-point attempts. Nothing there. Back to Allison Door. Crowded in the corner. >> He's

050got something. Loses the handle. Figarero gets fouled, but good defense by Nathaniel Nelson as he tries to go for the steal, but commits the reach in. Nelson coming back in now. That was quick for Xavier. >> Little formality issue at the scorers table. So Z Xavier is going to stay in the game for this first free throw attempt by the Bulldogs. I believe they're now in the bonus. >> Yes, you are correct. >> So what's this free throw is shot? We're going to get an official substitution change. >> Crimite clinging to a one-point lead. >> Figarero at the line for one more attempt. [snorts] and shot. No good. Rolls out. >> And Miss Rude finds a sophomore. Nelson dribbles it up to the corner. Shot attempt. Ooh, nice rebound. >> Reed. No good. >> Emanuel

051Nelson with that three-point attempt from the corner. But here's Nelson. Tries to find Vasquez and does behinded by V. Bulldogs on the transition. >> Oh boy. >> Basket. No good. Foul committed on the floor. >> So V is going to go to the line for two. >> Looking for his ninth point this evening with 126 to go here in the third quarter. >> Vo showing one of the most highest passion on the floor. He's fired up after that play. He's been fired up after every play he makes. Got to love the passion >> when kids are into the game and you know they're not trailing by a lot but still you're in the zone. You just you just want to help your team win and Oh, missed that both. Awesome. >> Emir back to Nelson.

052>> Oh, wide open >> pass for three and fall. rolls out. Chris Stomo with the rebound. Gets it past half court. Gets flooded by the Crimson Tide. Half court defense. >> Don't reach in. >> V with a floater and a putback attempt. >> I'm I'm assuming it's that rim cuz Crimson Tide had trouble at that rim too. >> Something's going There's probably a magnet in there or something. >> I don't know what I saw. I saw a good shot attempt and the ball just said nope. Yeah, not today. >> There's a miss from down low gets it in off the backboard. >> That was the first point in a few minutes for them. >> And au's first points of the second half. Yes, it is. >> Here from three. Clean look ties it up at

05339. >> Shot clock is off >> as we have 24 seconds left in this third quarter. >> Here's Nelson double teams. Oh, there you go. Get on the floor and grab that ball. Fighting for possession. We will get a jump ball and possession arrow is going >> to land. You called it bird. >> Pass management. Very exciting. >> Getting a substitution for the Crimson Tide. Number 21. Josiah Pappi is coming in for Nelson. Emanuel Nelson. >> More substitutions for Lyn English. Number 15 is coming out and I believe number 10 is the one who checked in. Josiah Peralta gets it gets it in to Chris Stomo. Florida no good. Almost trapped in the corner. Peralta forces it up. >> Two seconds. >> Oh man, >> hits the rim from half court. >> I'm surprised he

054got the ball off and that was a good look. It was a great look and we are tied 3939 going into the fourth quarter here in Lynn. And here are the Lin Bulldog cheerleaders. And we'll be right back after their little cheer. >> We'll take a break here. Uh bird. >> Everybody go. Everybody [cheering] go. Everybody Lyn English, a great basketball program. They were the division one state champions in 2019 and I believe that game was played at the Garden against the LOL Red Raiders. Yep. And that was a close game. I saw some of the coverage on the Greater Media Lola YouTube page to take a look at that game. That was a good game by both teams. Lyn English also no stranger to the tournament after 2019. They usually have deep runs, good

055players that go through their program. The Crimson Tide as well throughout its history. Crimson Tide usually a powerhouse in the GBL that just doesn't give up that number one spot. different se different story here and there, but historically the Crimson Tide has been sitting up top on a throne. >> Yeah, both of these teams have been tournament bound for years and years and years. >> Uh it's been a while since the Crimson Tide has been gotten. It was before the pandemic. I remember that. >> Lyn English used to be a member of the Essis County League. Now they've been brought into the GBL as part of the MIA expansion >> that happened a few years back. Hey, Mr. Rude. >> Nice rebound. All right. All right. Let's get that >> good offensive rebound by Keane

056Dasa gets fouled on the put back in attempt. >> You know what? Get the ball down low. Let make Lel work for it. You know what I mean? Like Lynn just Sorry. [laughter] You said low earlier. I got confused. It's all good. Make them work for Make Lynn work for the rebounds. And I I like how excuse me. I love how King Costa is underneath here just grabbing the rebounds and they're just hacking away at him. Just keep hacking away with them. I'd rather take that and get the follow up and get get the um bonus points and just keep the pressure on these guys. >> Oh, that door from down low in the paint. >> Good lane and good take. >> Is coach voice listening to me? [laughter] >> A foul committed by the

057Crimson Tide. King Daso is currently the tallest player on the floor I think. >> Correct. >> Yes, he is from our vantage point. Yankee receives the inbound to Faggerero finds Peralta in the corner. Keata got a hand on that. Forces a miss. Hard to see, but I heard it too. >> A lot of confusion going on right now. >> Coach Boy screaming, he shot the ball. Yeah, when the basketball hits a corner like that, it's usually a dead dead play. >> I thought it was because um Keem Dasa got a piece on the block. >> I'm calling it a block. I could be wrong. >> But here's Nelson with a turnover. >> Here we go. >> Am misses on the fast breaking attempt. Nelson gets outpowered by Yankee. Yankee finds I shall know his name

058by heart by now is Se is Seer. Seer on the fast break. Here's Vazquest who answered back. Ball right back to him. Put back attempt. No good. We're tied at 41 in this final quarter. >> Yeah, too many steps now. >> Tries to fake a Florida into a pass but took one too many steps. only allowed to win the game of basketball. Being subbed out for Kaser Rosario, fellow senior Lynn English has eight seniors on their team. >> Wow. >> So does the Crimson Tide. Eight seniors on both teams. >> And Mr. Rude with the travel. So, we have backto-back trials by both teams and the limb crowd has let him here. Fiero breaking the press by himself. Here's Ka Rosario from underneath the hoop. The reverse no good. King Dasa gets poked and fouled.

059How many fouls is that on number two? >> The foul is called on King Dosta. >> I guess he reached in >> after ball got poked loose by Yankee. So good defense by Lynn English. >> Oh, he has full of fouls. King. >> Cerero gets flooded by a double team. Forces a turnover. >> Alson Dor retains possession. Puts it up. >> There you go. >> And gets the lead. Court Boyce is going to call the timeout for the Crimson Tide. >> Yeah, he's not happy over that. I don't blame him. >> The past couple of minutes has been sloppy play by both teams is throwing the ball around on plays. No one's getting offensive rebounds, taking bad shots. Ever with a two-point lead with 611 to go here in the fourth. Beautiful night here in

060January in Massachusetts. I think it's snowing right now. >> That's true. Winry mix expecting to pour it down in the areas. It's definitely starting at the end of this game. >> I saw that you were in Vancouver. Did you enjoy your trip? >> Don't even get me started in Vancouver. >> Oh, it was a good time. That was a great I just absolutely love. >> Someone told me it was just Someone just told me it was basically Boston with mountains. >> I would say it's I'm sorry. We can't compare Boston to Vancouver. That's why that's why I can't get into it. Sure. You can say Boston to Vancouver, but when it comes to the night Sorry. Sorry. Vancouver is such a great city. Public infrastructure. >> Yep. >> Yeah. Vancouver has been on my bucket

061list to go to. I've been to Montreal and Toronto. Good times in Canada. They do say that for real. >> I know. Oh yeah. >> Toronto Montreal also great public infrastructure and great >> they turn over the inbound >> gets back. >> Len English found the ball. >> Fiero had a three-point look. >> Ball tipped out of bounds by Vasquez. Good perimeter defense by a Crimson Tide. >> What I meant by Boston Vancouver, I meant the structure. >> No, Vancouver's leagues above. >> All right. Okay. leagues above. >> Okay, people were telling me it's like >> I'm gone. All right, I got to go then. >> Live it. >> If only if only they had sports teams. But here's Agarero from three. >> Did they have a basketball team? >> Vancouver. >> Basketball. Yeah, Vancouver

062Grizzlies way back in the day. >> And I was think maybe the CBB, but not the NBA. Toronto. >> So Vancouver went to Memphis. >> Oh, that's what happened. >> Yep. There you go. Back to the action. >> Generational interference knowledge right there. Institutional knowledge. Yep. Everett with a two-point lead. 10 seconds on the shot clock. A Mr. Rude to Sanchez. Sanchez to a Mr. Rude to the corner for Alson door. Had a clean look. >> Three-pointer. No good. >> I believe that's Peralta. The Euro step didn't work out for him. Yeah, the fast break. Look, misses it. A miss >> trying to slow things down and have a more >> really pass. Yeah, >> Alson. >> All right. All right. >> Tries to get around Peralta but draws a foul. Good dribble drive. >>

063Yes, it was >> by Austin Dor. He's going to be sent to the line. This is his third trip to the free throw line. He is one for three. >> Three personal fouls on Peralta. >> Nice. >> Nothing but net for his first attempt. Substitution for the Bulldogs. Peralta comes out. Coming in is Miguel Pena. One of the eight seniors on the team. Oh yes, good IQ by Aaroon. >> Saw the tip by Pena. Box him out and Crimson Tai gets possession. And hopefully they can extend the lead because they have a three-point lead with 444 to go >> and a fresh on the scoreboard. >> Oh, on camera. >> Allison Dor found fouled again. >> Wild. >> There goes a lot. There goes our fours. >> No, we got fours and ones. >> Fourth

064quarter. 41 points. >> Neurology. >> Not really. >> I don't know what it is, but someone might be entertained by the fact. Yeah, >> probably have a masters in that. >> Lind English fans making it difficult for Alison Door and don't know if I can say it worked, but they could be pretty intimidating here at Lyn English. >> Okay, the fans know what they're doing. >> Yep. >> Alendor with a second free throw attempting this possession. >> Oh, I'd be screaming. Second one good. 4541 Crimson Tide. They've been holding on to the lead since the third quarter. Lyn English been threatening though. They've come English dominated the first half and the Crimson Tide tries to fend off this second half surge. Chris Stomo to Yankee in the corner. Yeah, big stay on him cuz he

065Oh, here we go. Clean look. He's the leading three-point scorer of the game. [cheering] >> Believe he has four. >> Yep. >> Three corners. >> Alison Dor strong drive to the rim. Gets his own rebound and draws another foul. Huge. >> That's three straight trips to the free throw line within this one basketball minute. >> Yeah, >> probably five real time minutes. >> Real impressive. Alison Dor draws a foul on number 22 Duza. >> Correction. I was looking at the wrong roster. [music] Number 22 doesn't have a spot on the list that we have. No good by Alson door. He's three for five. That's not bad. Free throws. Yeah, three for five is good. Let's see if he can make it four for six. And we're back to a two-point lead. Ever on the fullourt

066press here. Eight. Mr. RDE pounding, but Yankee finds the wide open corner for three. Almost in, but not good. Good rebound tip by Alton Dor to Amos RDE. Yeah, he had a good look. Just couldn't fall for him. Adam with it. Goes to his left. >> Vasquez is at the top. >> Waiting has a lane. >> All right. >> Wide open from the corner. Couldn't get it in. >> Seer with a travel. Travel. [cheering] One too many steps there. I thought it was a foul. I'm not going to lie to you, man. I got nervous like, oh, here we go. and Keith Dasa, he's on either three or four personal fouls. Lenn English is going to call a timeout here. >> With 3 minutes and 26 seconds left in the game, Crimson Tide has been

067holding on to a two two-point lead for quite a while. Good looks by Linton English here and there, but the Crimson Tide is hanging on by a thread. Yeah, Jaden Alcador basically had six free throw shots within a minute here in the fourth quarter between the four minute mark. >> Once again, the monster down in the paint. >> Yes, they did get better as the game progressed with the rebounding. They've they've they locked it down on um turnovers. A few here and there. Nothing too crazy, but it's gonna be very important not to create any turnovers here late in the fourth quarter with three minutes to go. Find the open shot. Take the open shot. Drive to the hole. Try to get the easy baskets. You >> have an open shot. Take it. Don't be

068shy. Crimson English breaks the huddle first. Sorry Birdie, I'll let you say what you were saying. >> I was just going to say uh the Crimson Tide will be playing Thursday in Everett, I believe, against some of I think it's Sumo. >> We'll have to double check that and we'll get back uh with you on that. But that game will be live streamed and broadcasted and uploaded. >> You and Josh will be doing it. No, no, uh Han. >> Yeah, Justin Han will be back. That's right. Correct. Good rotation. Finds the ball. Couldn't get it in from down low. >> Chris Figarero to Yankee in the corner. Drives the baseline. Puts it up and he's going to be sent to their free throw line. Lu is down by two points and I think coach is

069going to make a substitution. Correction. That was no substitution. Coaches are just having a talk with V. Here's Yankee at the free throw line. I think this is the first time we're seeing him on the line. >> Yes, cuz he's been pretty solid beyond the ark. He's a senior. Has a nice chop three. >> This is the first attempt. King Dosta is going to get subbed out for Emanuel Nelson. Back to what we were saying before, the game Everest is playing on Thursday is against Somerville, another GBL opponent. Somerville is doing good this season. Supposedly they played Lynn English earlier and won that game. >> Yeah, someone was 5-1. There'd be a big test for these guys Thursday. But for now, we got action here in Lynn. Cruz are tied up by one. Abs up

070the offense >> at the wing. >> One point differential inside three minutes. Game couldn't be more nail-biting than this. >> Vasquez pulls up from mid-range. >> Ice cold. >> That's his shot. Mid-range and beyond. Fo drives it up to the middle. Awkward form there and couldn't get it up. Good defense by Alson Door. >> Yeah, he took that shot wildly. He wasn't in control at all. >> Follow and wasn't happening. >> You said it. >> The ref was like, "Yeah, no, not happening." But >> approaching the two-minute mark. A Rouge manning the offense, holding on to a three-point lead. >> Yep. Just chewing up the clock. >> To Sanchez, I saw him. I saw. Yeah, he walked. Oh, >> Alson had a good layout to the basket. >> I saw that, too. >> You can

071tell he was frustrated as I was like, "Oh, dude, what are you doing?" >> Sanchez hits the bench and coming in as Nathaniel Nelson, the sophomore guard. >> He has the assignment on Yankee. Not an easy assignment. Yankees the leading scorer of the game. And he travels. >> Beautiful. looking for a wide open Christomo who also had a clear lane. Both driving attempts negated by a travel call. Inside two minutes here, 1 minute and 51 seconds left in this fourth quarter. Hey Sude leading the offense. Christian Vasquez playing the two. Here's Austin door back out to Vasquez. Vasquez pulling up from the free throw line. Oh, in and out. Looked good. And as you said, Bird, that was his spot. But here's Agarero. Down one possession. Yankee hot from three. Draws a foul. Doesn't get

072the ball in. So, he's shooting for two. >> Wow. as a Yankee. He's only just a sophomore bird. >> Yeah, he's going to be a problem for Everton in the next couple years. >> I mean, right off the bat, he shot two threes right here in the corner for us. We're like, "Oh, boy. It's going to be a long night." >> Yeah. The first eight game uh eight points as a game. He makes the first attempt. 4648. Still a one possession game. >> He's one for four at the free throw line. Oh, substitution. >> First time seeing the court. Oh, >> I lied. That's not the first time coming back into the game. Is Josiah Papappio? Nope. Nope. >> No, he's not even on the roster. >> 21. Yep. First time seeing the quote. >>

073How dare you lie to me? [laughter] >> I confused myself. I apologize for everyone else. I confused. Both attempts good. >> Crimson tide one-point lead. 1 minute and 12 seconds left in this game. Back and forth. That's a SU too. Nelson almost committed the back court violation. >> Oh no. [cheering] >> No. Small foul. Small foul. >> Smart foul by Aurori. >> And Lynn English will be in the bonus after this one. >> Actually, no going right now. >> That is the bonus. >> So number 21, our unnamed player hitting the free throw line making impact immediately off the bench. First time seeing the court >> refs having a chat with the ever bench. Yep. Missed what that was about. But here's a first attempt. Good. We're tied at 48 and Sanchez is going to

074check back in. >> Crimson Tad definely playing the rebound here. If there was a miss. There is a miss. And Alison Door gets a rebound. We are tied at 48. Final minute here. 25 second shot differential between the shot clock and the game clock. What do we have here, B? I don't know, but we're going to see. L English making some noise here in the gymnasium. Bas playing San's playing possession. And that's what I was saying. Nelson pulls up from three. No good rebound by the sophomore. Nelson out to Alton door. Shot clock resets. >> Oh yeah, we're getting up for this. And he's called a timeout. Smart call by Boyce. Coach Boyce saying, "You know what? I'm going to drop this play right now. You got to listen to me and we're going to

075execute it." >> Could be the final possession if executed correctly here. I'm standing up for this one, too. I'm about to lose my voice and my breath. What started off as a sloppy first quarter and an exciting fourth quarter here in the Bulldog Arena. We are down to the wire. Straight twos on the game clock. 22.2. We're tied at 48. >> I said the Bulldog arena. It's actually >> the Paul Kavanagh Fieldhouse, home of the Bulldogs. >> Yes. >> I'm surprised you haven't boxed yet. [laughter] >> They'll have something to bark about in this final possession if they have the defensive stop. >> Yep. >> And pulls out with a last second victory. >> What play does coach Boyce have up his sleeve for his team right now? >> Well, we might just go into

076overtime. We'll see. A lot of orders here. >> Not too much height on the Lind side of the court. >> I just noticed that >> might have a height advantage. >> Tallest player, King Dosta, is still on the bench. >> I think he has four or five. I'm not sure. He might have fouled out. Sanchez. Here's Nelson making himself comfortable beyond the yard. Here's Vasquez getting the ISO. 10 seconds left. [cheering] One-on-one here. Vasquez driving in. Pulls up from baseline and he sinks it in with 1 second left in the game clock. Lyn English calls a timeout. One second left. Christian Vasquez with the ice cold in his veins. >> Baseline. >> Crimson Tide just flooding into the Cavanaaugh Fields House and Bass Quest freezes it over in this cold January night. His veins are

077ice cold in that shot. Kept his cool, kept his composure. Now that baseline jump shot, we got a two-point lead with 1.1 seconds to go here. called far the ISO and he made it in. Lynn English has to do something from the inbound line. One second has been put onto the game clock. So two seconds doesn't alleviate much of the challenge here for the Bulldogs. The captain Christian Vasquez making the go-ahead shot. Oh, there's 2.4 seconds. Okay, there's 2.4 seconds now. It was 1.1. They rough adjusted the clock. The English could attempt to tie it up and force in overtime or just go for it all and shoot for a three. And the leading three-point score of the game is add the Yankees, a sophomore. We'll see if he's going to have the final possession.

078Don't be shocked if you see uh the Bulldogs here just run straight to the basket and try to go go with the um old school three-point play. If I was the crimson tat, I would let it happen and not draw the foul. Fourth and overtime and give yourself an extra opportunity to call the game. Our Lyn English on their feet, everyone in the stands on their feet. [cheering] We have our view block too, Bird, but we have a full court play for the Bulldogs. Here we go. 2.4 seconds to go. Fullourt man coverage. Ball gets down to Faggerero from half court. >> Wow. Hit the rim. Crimson tide escape with a 50 to 48 W. Hair and Lynn traveling on the road getting it done. I'm in. Woo. Just her second win of the season.

079in a nailbiting classic thriller. >> Yes, it was. >> Oh boy. >> 5048. Christian Vasquez, I believe, is the leading scoreer for the Crimson Tide. >> Yes. >> Don't have the exact number, but good fight by the Bulldogs. They started the game with the lead and then the Crimson Tide had a second half surge, took the lead, and wasn't easy to hold on to. Yeah, I'd say Christian Vasquez had about like between 16 to 19 points >> easily. But with that being said, we have our final handshake at the scorers table and the score is 5048. My name is Animosmani. Joining me on the broadcast is Jonathan Bird Marshan. Thank you for tuning in and keeping up to date with every Athletics. Next game up for after Crimson Tide is a Somerville Highlanders. >> Yes,

080it is. It'll be live on YouTube and channel 15 this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. And uh I'll be doing replay, you'll be directing, and Josh and Justin will take the call in playbyplay. >> In the meantime, we wish everyone a good night and we'll see you next time. [music] >> [music] [music]
