001I could stand up. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I'd like to approve the uh approval of the agenda with uh item item C uh Is it C uh under small B number three under employment to be uh scratched for now. Is there any other changes to the agenda? Um The The The wrestling we had down for recognition, so many of the wrestlers are running track that they have asked for us to bring that back on a later agenda so everybody could be here. So, those are the only two changes on the posted agenda. Yes. Which one is scratched? Oh, and under the blank, I thank you, Sherry. Under C

002Number three under employment. On the second page. Oh, scratched. Yep, for bring He's going to bring that back. So, under routine business policies, there was a blank there with comments. There was one comment and I have shared that out on your with the board members with the paper copy. So, those are the only changes to the posted agenda that I see. Uh all in favor of the agenda with changes? I. I. I. I. Uh agenda approved. Next item going into uh there's no recognitions for the wrestlers, that'll will at a later date. Moving into item five, information. Ms. Brown. Good evening. So, I'm just here to present information about the calendars that were submitted for consideration for the 2026-2027 school year. Things that we always consider when we're developing the calendar is State Board Policy

0033234, which governs uh the school calendar, and then of course the State Department puts out guidance on that information, and and we disseminate that guidance, um and then the Office of Finance has certain timelines with payroll that we need to consider. And for instructional purposes especially, we like to make sure that our GSA and ASA, this is the alternate assessment windows, are considered as well. So, I know it's not very well seen, but you should have a hard copy that might be easier to see each of the versions. So, they're on the PowerPoint, but unless you can zoom in, they're not easy to read. So, about version one, some facts. So, it starts on August 10th and ends May 31st. And that is the the complete 200-day. First semester would end on December 22nd before

004entering into break. We like to look at the OS days because a lot of the calendars use them differently. And in this calendar, two are with breaks, and then four are at the very end of the calendar. Graduation would be uh have to be May 14th or after and in this case they've been doing them on Sundays. So I just made a note there that that would be May 16th for this calendar. And there's a total of 11 out of calendar days on this calendar. The more out of calendar days you have generally the longer the school year goes. So we look at those as well. Okay, version two calendar. Starts again on 8/10 and ends June 1st. First semester again ending 12/22 before break. BOS days, there's one with a break and then five

005at the end. Graduation again has to be 5/14 or after and for a Sunday again 5/16. And then there's 12 out of calendar days. Can you ask that again? Yes. All right, version three. Still starting on 8/10, ending 6/2. First semester again ending 12/22. So, a lot of similarities there with these calendars. The OS days here, there are two with breaks. You'll see a little different look at the end. There's two on Fridays and then two at the very end. Graduation would have to be May 19th or after, which for a Sunday that would put it on May 23rd. And then there are 13 out of calendar days. And then the last version, starting August 10th, ending June 1st. First semester ending 12/22. The OS days, two with breaks and four at the end. Graduation

006would have to be May 17th or after, which would put it Sunday uh May 23rd. And then there are 12 out of calendar days. So, those are just some informational facts about the calendars. And those are the four that we had submitted this year to be considered. Are there any clarifying questions for me with those? Any questions? Thank you, Carla. All right. So, now we'll go into recess for the calendar hearing and then resume regular regular session. First point under regular session, there's there's no delegations. Is uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh approval of the minutes. So moved. Any discussion? All in favor? I. Motion's approved. Same thing, approval of the minutes for the March 22nd special meeting. So moved. Any discussion? All in favor? I. I.

007I. Going on to finance, item one, the payment of the invoices. Mr. Coan. Okay, so we have four runs of expenditures for your consideration tonight. The first on 3 24 2026, totaling 17,240.78. This is our UMR dental and vision insurance primarily. And then the next run on 3 26 2026 totals 464.78. This is our PEIA retiree insurance. Then the next run on 3 31 2026, totaling 28,499.78. This is made up of utilities and workers comp insurance. And then finally, the largest run for this board meeting on 4 1 2026, totaling 94,945.35. Has some noteworthy expenditures in there. We have Family Carpet Outlet for the new board room flooring. We have Mr. Router for some sewer repairs. And we have some virtual reality works with the virtual welding machine. And all of these expenditures total $141,150.69.

008And Mrs. Cummings could not be here this evening, but I've got the basket of invoices and expenditures if you've got any specific questions. Any questions? All right, going on to next item, budget supplements. Mr. McCowan? So, one budget supplement for your consideration this evening. It is in the amount of $44,000, and this was supplemental tax collections. Um the assessor's office brought that in to Mrs. Cummings, and this is adding that change into her budget. I'll make a motion on the end. Make a motion to accept. Amen. All in favor? I. I. I. Motion passes. Next item, budget transfers. Looks like there's None this evening. >> All right. Then, uh next item, West Virginia School Board Association membership subscription. Um under finances, Mr. McCowan? Yeah. So, that was in your packet. This is our annual membership

009for the West Virginia School Board Association in the amount of $2,284. Any discussion or questions? Motion to accept it. So moved. Any discussion? All in favor? I. I. Motion accepted. Next item, routine business. Policies. The outside presenter policy. So, we have a one one comment. Sure. Yep. So, the one comment was bottom line, it all boils down to the line of morality between presenter and or the sponsor. They ultimately call the shots. A risk that I'm not willing to take. All bets are off and the sky's the limit. Yeah, that was the sole comment during the comment period. Yeah. And I I feel like I I I feel like we're taking a step backwards here. Um I feel like the camera in there keeps people keeps people's feet to the fire, holds them accountable, and

010in my staying on my position, uh it it protects from liabilities down the road. So, on that So, I uh I also agree that we should keep the cameras. I was I When I think about this, I think about some of the other issues that we've had where we would not have known what happened if it were not for us having the cameras there. So, to take the cameras away, I feel like it's taking a tool away for uh a tool away that protects the safety of the students. My concern is that they said they will not do it unless if there's cameras on. Uh they also, you know, we I think if I remember right, we don't have it in front of me right now, that they do have the option for camera if

011they want to. Uh they also have uh anybody that don't want their kids to go to it, they can opt out. Um Hey John, can you turn your phone towards him? I'm breaking out. Yeah. Did they hear? I'm not sure that Mr. Metz heard what you said, Brent, if you wouldn't Well, I I was just saying that um that the parents have a a position to opt out if that's if they want to. Uh I do believe that uh Yeah, I I understand with the camera, but if they don't going to do it without a camera, what are we going to do? We're going to have our teachers do it. There's it's still required curriculum. We'll have our staff do it the same way that we've the same that we've done it since the policy

012was in effect for over uh dozen years. I just uh John, I'd like to comment whenever it's uh everybody's >> him go ahead. Okay. Um go ahead, go ahead, Mr. Metz. Yeah, I'm I'm sure I'm having trouble hearing all the little fine points, but but I you know, I look at it and I think that it um we have not changed anything as far as parent notification, a parent having a right to say that they don't want their child to in it. We're still respecting the authority of the parent. What we're changing is that when these groups, for whatever reason within their group, do not want their their um presentation videotaped, we're not doing that. But we're having them give us the vid- the presentation beforehand, which I think is probably better anyway than having

013it videotaped. So, I like the policy the way I think it's a good compromise. It allows the the groups to do what they want to do. Um you know, I I I I I the policy the way that it is now. So, and I and I see everybody's point, and especially as a dad, I see everybody's point. My thing is is I feel like the state health department would have the most qualified people and tools to teach this. I think that we would be doing an injustice and missing a boat if we didn't go with them just simply based off the fact of what all they have available versus Um and like you said, I see what you're saying. I- if they were to just put that on to our teachers, I'm sure that our

014teachers are more than capable of doing that. But that would require someone to create the curriculum, somebody to supply the tools for the curriculum. All that takes time, so what are we going to do in the meantime if we're going to create that? Like I and I have to agree with what they're saying. If they didn't say, "We're going to do a public showing." If we didn't have it already in place that the parents could choose whether or not they felt comfortable sending their kid that day or not. Or the fact that like like like it said, too, this is just this case. Um uh you know, if they if they down the road they get a different one and they say, "Well, yeah, we you know, we don't mind being videoed." Well, that's great.

015Then you can revisit that and say, "Well, do we you know, do we need to or what have you?" But also something else that I I saw and I don't know if anybody else caught, but part of that policy was also drug anything involving drug use. So, does that mean when we have a civics class and we're talking about current activities and the opioid crisis that we have to have a video camera in the room the whole time that that discussion's having place? The way the policy read, we should have been doing that the whole time. So, I I I feel like that the policy needed to be revised. I feel like that there's steps and policies in place for anybody that doesn't feel comfortable with it. Um So, I I have to agree with

016uh Mr. Stewart and Mr. Metz as well. So, yeah. Well, I just I just want to say if there's somebody that is going to watch my child and they only agree to watch my child if we decide to not video, to not turn the cameras on like we've have been for the last 15 years, that suggests that there's a reason they want those cameras off. So, there was a reason this policy was in place. >> I would just say that I wouldn't paint everybody with necessarily a nefarious brush with that. A- and because I would agree with that. >> if if the health department, the state department of health, I don't know, that has some agenda to come in and be a negative influence on our children. I think they probably have more expertise in

017the matters of of health and safety in this regard and that's that's the way all of the standards one sex education in the state are written couched in it being a dangerous activity to participate in with consequences if you do it. That that's the way the standards are written. I think that probably the Department of Health does have expertise that perhaps our teachers don't don't have because public health it is all that they do. Um, and I would just say that none of this change I would like to reiterate that none of this change, if the board does decide to change it, takes away the parents right of them opting out. I think all this does I mean it it it would open this up for any parent that wanted to sit and listen to

018the entire presentation come and do it even before they made a decision to opt out cuz they would get to hear the presentation in its entirety for themselves to maybe better make an informed decision if they want their kid to sit through it or not. That's just my two cents. It's the board's policy, the board put it in place and it's a matter before the board. Remind me there'll be administration in this. >> Yes. So it won't be like somebody said. >> not the health department is going to be in a a room with the kids by themselves. Our staff members will be there. >> And if anything goes awry then they will stop it right then and there. >> it down. So it's not like it you know it's going to happen and nobody

019knows it happened other than the kids or Yeah, we we never let an inside presenter in with a captive audience of kids with with no staff members present. Yeah, that's actually the policy. Did you hear that, John? >> Yes, sir. Yeah, that's actually within that policy that staff have to be present. Have we been having uh education like this uh regularly every year or how's that how long this work? >> I'm not sure how how long that the middle school has had outside folks. I I don't know that we've done that regularly every year. Yeah. Um but, I think the the State Department of Health does this with a number of a large number of counties within the state, and I um and that is why Mrs. Hickman looked to have them come here cuz

020I think that um from speaking with other counties, they had done a good job on it. But, I I'll say that this outside policy, I don't I don't know that there's been an issue, and I don't know that we've had folks coming in to do that since I have been back here as superintendent. And if I understand it right, the state would not come in if it was videoed. Is that Was that correct? >> they have a policy where their present They don't allow their presentations to be recorded. Isn't it state policy that that there there is cameras on certain Only in self-contained special ed classrooms. >> Is there a reason why? Well, I think a reason why what specifically? >> The reason why they have them cameras in there? Well, the reason that they

021put cameras in self-contained special ed classrooms was from the those kids a lot of times are are not verbal, and if something were to happen to them, they weren't able to verbalize that somebody did something bad to them. And so, that was the rationale putting the cameras in there so that it's um every periodically, the administrators have got to go back and review that that footage just to make sure. And then, if the parent suspected that something had happened to their kid and raised concerns, then the administrator would go back and review that tape to see if there's any allegations on that. >> And that's why I want cameras in these as well. It's sex education in when they're in a class like that, kids can get up and they can say anything they want.

022It open It opens the door wide open. As common sense the sky's the limit. Um Mr. Metz, he had he had said himself that this can take on a beast of its own. Uh the first time we had discussion on this, this can take on a beast of its own. When when we when we take them cameras out. So. And I did hear from somebody from the from the state health department that was high up and they they was was unaware of any of this that's going on. So. Well, all I know is that the the folks that Mrs. Sickman had been in contact with that go around and do that. Um said that they would not do it under our current policy if it was videotaped that they didn't allow that. So, I'm not

023I'm not sure you know. Well, they're wrong. Mr. McConnell, how how often in a year do we have to have uh superintendents or principals review video? Principals review video, help me out. 90 day 90 days every 90 days. under the current law. 15 minutes. 15 minutes every 90 days. So, we're So, We have We have to keep a log of that and and we have to turn that log into the Department of Education annually. For for all of our video or not just in that Just the self-contained special ed classrooms. No, like what I I guess what I'm asking is how often uh do as a superintendent or principal need to go back and say, "Hey, I want to check the camera to verify an event or not?" Any year. I know we've had at

024least some on the bus we've had. And then I know we've had some on the >> I principals are watching cameras and various things every day for various and sundry reasons. I don't know that we keep a tally of that. So, they probably daily check video? I'm I'm not going to speculate. I mean the cameras are there. If there's an issue on the bus, we go and we look at that and I I would hazard to say the principals are looking at some kind of video to to alleviate or investigate some situation as the need arises. But, I wouldn't hazard to speculate a number. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to change anyone's mind here, so. Well, I've went back and forth with it, but when it came down to it, I trust our administration

025to watch it. What's the difference between it and the and the film? Well, it's how do people act differently when they know the cameras are off? Well, but I'm saying, you know, what's going to be the difference? Administration there watching it and they can stop it or film it and you don't stop them. Well, I I I would propose that if somebody knows the cameras are off, they might act differently, which is why we had the camera why they had the cameras on before. Well, ultimately you made the point. Nobody's going to change anybody's mind, so. Take a vote. Any other discussion? All in favor of changing the Um all in favor of changing the outside presenter policy uh to include uh paragraph three, all present all presentations pertaining to sex or drug education will

026be audio or video recorded unless the presenting organization does not allow such recording. In such case, the presenting organization would be required to schedule a presentation specifically for the parents before the school's presentation takes place. Oh, I'm sorry. Thank you. So, I mean Now Yes. Okay, what Mr. Sherlock just read is that the policy that we have in front of us? That's That's That's the amendment that the board at the previous meeting that was inserted and put on comment. Okay, so we're we're not changing what that amendment was. No. That That's it verbatim as it was presented at the last board meeting. Okay, either has to be audio taped or Okay, go ahead. I'm sorry. Do you want me to reread it, Mr. Metz? No, I just No, I I can't listen to it, Mr.

027Sherlock. I'm sorry. Okay, no. So, you have a motion? All in favor? I. >> I. All opposed? Nay. Did you get that, Sherry? Two. What? So, I I Yeah, I was a I was a Yeah, I was a Yeah. I believe Mr. Metz was a yay. Correct me if I'm wrong. Luke was a yay. Brent was a yay. And then Sherry for the opposed. Mr. Lowe and Mr. Sherlock. Next item, personnel matters, resignations and leave leave of absence. First one, resignation, Mr. Walker. Mr. Cowan? Yeah, his letter is in your packet. I appreciate the coaching, Tom, that he's taken coaching, but his letter of resignation is in there and want to thank him for the years of coaching that he has done. We need a motion. Have a motion to accept this resignation. >> So

028moved. All in favor? I. I. Any opposed? Next next one, resignation for Mr. Hoover. Mr. Cowan, any comments on that? >> No no comment. His letter was in your packet. I think he is retired and he gave substitute teaching a shot and he decided that he would rather be retired again, I think, so. I'm a pretty I He did sub for us for a while and I appreciate the time that he put in, but um You have Motion I'll make that motion. All in favor? I. I. Any opposed? >> I. Next item, resignation for Ms. Dye. Mr. Cowan, is there any information? >> No additional information. She has served as athletic trainer for a number of years and I appreciate the time and help that she's given us in that position. Have a motion to

029accept. So moved. All in favor? I. >> I. Any opposed? Next one, moving on to employment, Ms. Harbarger. Mr. Cowan, do you have any So, if you recall this, we've got a vacancy in the second grade aide position and since it was going to be over 30 days, we've got to post a long-term sub position for that and Mrs. Hardbarger was the successful bidder on that posting. Have a motion to accept? So moved. All in favor? Aye. Aye. Any opposed? Next one, uh employ Miss Miss Hale as a substitute aide. Do you have any information about that, Mr. McConnell? So, nothing that wasn't already in your package. She's successfully completed the the aide test and applied for the posted position. So, nothing else to add. Have a motion to hire? So moved. All in favor?

030Aye. Aye. Any opposed? All right. Moving on to new business. Have a request to reschedule the June 16th, 2026 board meeting. Is there a Mr. McConnell, do you have So, with that, that falls the week that the superintendent conference is going on at Stonewall, and always in June, the financial folks like to move the last meeting as close to the end of the month as possible to close out the books and get all of the bills processed. So, with both of those things being said, I would respectfully ask that um we maybe try to reschedule the 16th meeting meeting sometime later in the month of June. Could we push it to the very end? Well, we could do the 30th, but that if that works, that would be the last meeting but I'm not opposed

031to any other day. Could we do it the 20 23rd instead of the 30th? Cuz that that would work better for me cuz I have a commitment on the 30th already. Do you have a motion to change. I'm I'll make the motion to reschedule the June 16th meeting to June 23rd. Did you hear that, Mr. Metz? Did that work? >> 23rd. Okay. Okay, very good. >> That works for you? >> Yes, sir. Okay. That's good. >> Yep. We need a motion on I He made the >> I made the motion. >> Oh, you did? All in favor? I. >> I. I. Any opposed? All right, motion passed. Uh Next item on the agenda, approval of dual credit courses for the 26-27 school year for uh we take both of those as one item >> Yeah.

032for both uh psychology uh and for sociology. So, moved. Any discussion? >> So, um Mrs. Taylor worked on this. If you have any specific questions, but basically the teachers at the high school have have worked with the syllabus of WVP and the content standards that um the state says that we um teach for that course and align these two things in an agreement with WVP for us to add these two for dual courses for our kids. I think um anytime they can take that dual credit class, it's going to give them college credit that they can apply towards a degree, and I think it's a good opportunity for our kids. Yeah, this uh this could potentially save them uh a good deal of money for the students that take this opportunity because they won't have

033to pay for that full price uh at a later at a later time. Any other questions or discussions? I think it's a good thing. I'd see as much of it as we can do. I I agree. All All in favor? Or wait, do you have a motion? Luke did. All in favor? I. That's on both of them, correct? Correct. Okay. Any opposed? Motion passes. Next item on the agenda is for authorized positions. Uh special education coordinator, gifted student gifted teacher. So, as you all know, um Mrs. Benoy, who's not only a kindergarten teacher for us, um but also has filled the role of gifted teacher for a number of years, has taken other employment um starting next school year. So, she will be leaving us at the end of this year. So, we still have

034a number of gifted kids, I think it's around 10 students that have gifted IEPs, have qualified for that, that we have to um service their IEPs and provide them those gifted services. And at the completion of this year, um we're not going to have a teacher to do that. So, since it's only 10 kids, we don't have enough gifted kids to have just a gifted teacher to do gifted all day long. And we're never going to find somebody to just work hourly gifted. So, in meeting some of the other special education needs that we have as well, um we have brainstormed to come up with this position that's going to serve our gifted students and to help um the school special ed staff and the board office special ed staff um better be in compliance

035with timelines and and other criterias. So, basically, this person would help with the gifted and then they would help work with the special education teachers and the special education directors and the special education secretary at the board office to make sure that all of our IEP timelines and those things are in compliance and that Carla, do you want to just chime in briefly with Yes. what are they going to do? Yes, we also you can see from the job description some items referred to graduation post secondary goals for students. So I was able to write a grant for 25% of estimation of the funding for this position would be toward focusing on those post secondary goals. So our students in their transition there's a plethora of requirements and IEPs for students as you know they

036exit high school what supports have we given them what can we do while they're here to strengthen their um you know access to jobs and careers and or college and and workforce. So that's another focus that we put it into this position that we're requesting. We don't really have anybody that has that niche right now um and of course as Mr. McCown said with the other needs we have with writing IEPs and our support for that is kind of sprinkled right now. So this will give it a more concentrated effort and making sure that we're meeting the compliance. We did have a recent special ed monitoring and that has allowed us to see where we need to improve and from that that's that's some other things that we can make sure this position can help

037with. Did you say you wrote the grant? I wrote a grant for the core yes. Well we we don't have the um decision on whether they'll grant it or not but How many special ed teachers do we have? Four. Well One, two, three six. We got several per class I mean We have about 11 Who? special ed teachers um I forgot I had I think that's right. How is that for each class or how do you how do you how do you do that? That's the reason I'm asking. Well, it really depends on the population and the services they need. Now, beyond our special ed teachers, we have tons of other service providers. Of course, we have one SLP, our speech teacher, on site. We have another one contracted. We have OT, PT, um hearing,

038vision, all of those providers. So, there's a lot of also difficulty in making sure all of those people are on the same page with students' IEPs and services as well. And with the classroom special ed teachers, it depends on what type of service they need, whether they need self-contained, whether they need just co-taught, push-in support in the regular classroom, or they need some pull-out, still being taught on regular standards, but but having some pull-out or intensive instruction. So, you know, all of those things considered is how we come up with the amount of teaching positions that we need. So, thank you. And I'll just if I might say one more quick thing. I think we know that we needed a a gifted teacher, and we know that if we had a recreational position, it can't

039just be gifted cuz we don't have that many students. But I wanted to give Carla kudos with looking at this and trying to get as much bang for the buck to do as many things for us as we can do with with this position as possible. So, I thank thank Carla for her work on that. We have motion Do I hear a motion authorize this position? So moved. All in favor? Aye. Aye. Aye. Any opposed? Motion passes. Next position, summer enrichment program steam teachers. Three teachers needed at Work County Middle School. Mr. Calhoun? So this is a summer school position and we're bringing it to you before the rest of the summer school positions because I believe they have a grant that they're needing to get the funds um and um lined out for so

040we're bringing this to you early so that this can get authorized and posted, but this is a a summer school thing at Work County Middle School. Any questions or discussions? Need a motion. So moved. So moved. Yeah. All right. Um All in favor? Aye. Aye. Any opposed? Motion passes. Next one is uh to abolish positions effective for the '26 '27 school year. First item is a cook three split day 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Work County Primary and Work County Middle School and 10:00 to 2:00 at Work County High School. Mr. Calhoun? So as you recall, I asked you to authorize a full-time cook position at the primary middle and we had a successful bidder on that. So this position is now vacant. Um it was the half-time split that we looked to do away

041with to save me doing a a riff transfer letter for a person doing it this way. So this position is now vacant as that person was the successful bidder on the new position that you authorized. So I'm bringing that one to you to abolish this vacant position. Do I hear a motion to to So moved. All in favor of abolishing this position? I. I. Any opposed? Motion passes. Next position to abolish. Math teacher, War County High School. Okay, so this is the position that's been vacant for 2 years. So, we have we have contracted out um a virtual teacher, and then we've and um then we've also had to put a substitute in there to facilitate that. So, this has been a very expensive position to maintain. And primarily, this position has been teaching Algebra

0421 at War County High School. Next year, the class of freshmen coming in, I believe is 62 students. That's easily just three sections of Algebra 1. And when I dug into the master schedule at the high school, um the remaining two teachers had enough room in their schedule to absorb um they had multiple multiple sections of various classes with not very many kids in them. If we can get rid of some of those small sections and make them a little bit bigger, between the two of them, they can easily pick up three sections of Algebra 1. So, that I believe we're spending about $80,000 on the virtual teacher plus the cost of a full-time substitute in there every day. So, you're looking well over $130,000 to keep doing this as we've done. But, there's enough

043room in the teachers' um sections that they're teaching that um they can easily pick up three sections of Algebra 1 between the two remaining teachers. We just can't find a math teacher? We've had it posted for 2 years. And no takers. I I I I don't think that there's a high school math teacher in any college currently anywhere in West Virginia. >> Wow. There there are none. Do you have a motion to abolish this position? All in favor? I. Any opposed? All right. Next position to abolish, positive behavior interventionist, pre-K through fifth grade. Mr. McCowan. So, this was a Project AWARE funded position as you recall, and we had a teacher um helping with behaviors, uh PBIS, and also when the need arose in school suspension at War County Primary Center. Since that grant um

044is no longer there, that teacher, back when we did riff transfer letters, was given a transfer letter, and so for next year that position will be vacant, and I'm asking for the board to abolish that position. So, moved. All in favor of uh abolishing that position? I. Any opposed? Position's abolished. Next item, AWARE project coordinator. Mr. McCowan. >> So, again, this was um Andrea Bailey's position from the Project AWARE grant. She was the coordinator and ran point on all of the funding and budgets and all of the positions that that entailed. Um we have approved her retirement, so she is retiring at the end of this school year, on June 30th, so that vacates her position. So, I'm asking that the board abolish this vacant position for next year. I'll make a motion. Any discussion?

045All in favor? Aye. Aye. Any opposed? Position abolished. Last one here, supervisory aide two, pay grade C, Warwick County High School, serving high school and middle school students. Mr. McCowan? Again, this is the last Project Aware funded position, and the person that is in that received a transfer letter moving them someplace else next year. So, that vacates that position, so I'm asking the board to abolish that. So, that will be all of the Project Aware funded positions that um since the grant is going out, we wouldn't have funding that we would have to pick up out of county funds. So, that's the last of it. We have a motion to All in favor of abolishing that position? Aye. >> Aye. Aye. Any opposed? Position abolished. Next item on the agenda, volunteers and chaperones. Don't have

046any? Um Going down to information. Any board concerns? Yeah. Luke, you have any? No, sir. Sure? Mhm. No. Mr. Lowe? Yeah, you know, this is really off the cuff about board concerns, but I'm going to just say this right here. Where are we going to draw a line on morality? I mean, I could get so vulgar right here right now from what what I've seen uh uh on YouTube, at board meetings concerning sex ed and stuff like that. This This guy is the limit. Where are we going to draw a line on morality? That's it. Yeah, yeah, uh My concerns are the same as yours, but you voiced them stronger than I'd be able to, so thank you. Mr. Matson, any board concerns? I just want to remind everybody that we have our regional school

047board's meeting, I believe it's next Wednesday at the WTC. Do you know what room that's going to be in, Mr. Matts? Um I think it's going to be over in the uh uh shoot the wood cabin part of it over there. The but The Cape Fear Technical Center? Yeah, but Okay. I'll send Howard I'll send Howard a call and ask him to send that out. Okay, thank you. Okay. What date was that again? I forgot. >> Wednesday next week. Okay. Yes. The next scheduled meeting April 21st, April 21st back here at 6:00 p.m. The It will It will be here, right? Well, we're everything is about finished over there except no internet. So, if we were to get everything moved over there, we'll let everybody know and then publish it that we would go to

048the We potentially could have a board the board set up over there and just do it on a hot spot, but we're having a potential delay getting the fiber optic stuff ran to get the internet in there. So, if it were to change from here, Mr. Lowe, we would let everybody know and then publish it to let the public know as well. Anything else, Mr. McCollum? No, sir. All right, uh Anyone want to make a motion to adjourn? So moved. All in favor? Aye. Aye. We are adjourned.
