[music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. >> [music] >> Good evening everyone and welcome to the big house on the big hill. We are live in Everett, Massachusetts for the season opening showdown. And it's greater of Boston League rivals and they border each other taking the court tonight. It's the Malden Golden Tornadoes taking on the Ever Crimson Tide. I'm Josh Delgazo. I'm joined alongside Justin Han and we are all fired up to bring you this season over. The 202526 season is finally here, Justin, and we are excited. We've been talking about it all week. We got a big one. It's rivalry week and it starts with a couple neighbors getting after it. >> You know, Josh, let me tell you something. I really love opening up Ever versus
Malden. We got Ferry Street that connects us, but you know what doesn't? Basketball. We're going to come in. We're going to show see what's going on and we're going to play a little basketball. I always like to say it's the battle of Ferry Street. Large parts of it take place in both Everett and Malden. So, we're going to see who takes ownership of Ferry Street tonight, and we are very much looking forward to it. Right now, we're going to send it down to our public address announcer, Chris Miller, who will bring forth our starting lineups and our national anthem. And tonight's starting lineup, beginning first with the visiting tornadoes. A sophomore guard number one, Alan Grace. [applause] A sophomore forward number three, Sean Simon. A sophomore forward number 22, Jason Manurvani. With senior captain forward
number five, Ryan McMahon and senior captain center number 21, Ko Hernandez Diaz. And now for your refri. Heat. Heat. [cheering] >> [cheering] >> Number Heat. [cheering] Heat. number four. [cheering] And this time we have rise for the final of tonight's national [music] [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] >> Well, that lineup's in the books. That was pretty cool. We had the lights off. We had the spotlight going. We had Chris Miller bringing the noise from his public address announcing microphone. That was pretty neat. Really enjoyed that. We do it. Who does it better than the big house on the big hill? >> I don't think anyone does it better, Josh. And I really love that that's become a tradition in this house. You
know what I mean? It's it just gives you a little something to look forward to. Especially I love basketball season. You know this for me football season, great time, but basketball we're inside. >> Temperature controlled environment check. We'll take it. And a nice shout out to our spotlight engineer. Will you? >> I like that one. >> Maria Isabel Rangel. That's right. Another Rangel joining the production ranks. And uh nice job Maria Isabelle filling in on a pinch. We got a couple things going on here tonight at the big house. This isn't the only show in town, although we're happy to be sitting courtside at it. We also have the holiday gala just two floors down in our auditorium bringing together all the festive notes of the season. And I love the holiday gala. It's it's
a tradition that just keeps going every year and happy that I'm here, but I'm going to be missing what's on there. But luckily, I'll be able to watch it tomorrow. >> That's right. That's what we do. We got a lot of cameras in this building. And our opening tip off is underway. Quickly out of bounds. And it's going to be the Crimson Tide who will have the first possession. And the starting five for the Crimson Tide. It looks like this. Number one, Christian Vasquez. Number two, Samir King Dosta. Number three, Jaden Sanchez. Number four, Adam Muser. And number 14, Jaden Alendor. Now I'm taking a look at our roster here, Josh, and it looks like the varsity is taken out by a lot of our seniors, which not uncommon, but not a lot of underassman
either. Tell you what though, Justin, it is an experienced group that returns to the court led by Christian Vasquez, a four-year varsity player. He's been playing since his freshman year, getting varsity minutes. He's gotten better each season. He's a big- time scorer and also fellow senior point guard Adam Muserut. He's piloted the offense the last couple years. He does a very nice job handling that offense. And one of their top underassman is the junior Jaden Alendor. He played a lot last year as a sophomore. Also saw minutes as a freshman. So now in his third season with the varsity, we look forward to seeing what Alendor can bring to the table. And we'll have our first foul of the game. And that's going to put Samir King Dosta at the line. And here's a look.
>> Look at that. >> Getting just a little bump right there. >> Little bump is right heading to the basket. And King D Costa scores the very first point of the 2025 2026 season. >> And that's why they don't call him Prince Dosta. No. No, they don't. >> Take it. We'll take it. Buries it. Two for two goes to Costa. Tied up two nothing. Starting five for the Golden Tornadoes. Number one, Alan Derus. Number three, Sean Sakama. Number five, Ryan McMahon. Number 21, Kaw Fernandez Diaz Valadaris. And number 22, Jason Manini. Good defense at the rim defying denying the shot of Sean Smwa. And I like the way King Dcasta slowed it down right there. You know, he he not in a hurry to get to the other side of the court. You got plenty
of time on the play clock. Yeah, good job by King Dost. And there's our first three of the night. It's up. It's good. Corner pocket number 14, Jaden Alendor. [cheering] And just like that, the Tide with a quick 5 nothing burst to start this. And there's that suffocating defense, forcing a turnover. Ryan McMahon sails it out of bounds. Crimson Tide basketball. The Crimson Tide under the direction of thirdyear head coach Jerry Boyce. >> Oh, you love Jerry Boyce. >> Oh, he does an outstanding job. >> He's starting out his third year. Past two years, we've been a tournament team. >> That's right. Back-to-back tournament appearances for Boyce, who also was an assistant for a long time prior to taking over the head coaching ranks. So he is rooted in pride rising with the tide and
he has done a great job leading this team and it's a family affair on the bench. His two sons join him. Jerel Boyce and Mr. 2K himself, Jared Boyce. Some say the one who built this house and Vasquez knocks it down. How about that shot? >> Nice job by Vasquez. >> I tell you, John Jared Boyce, you you talked about him. I'm I'm looking at a banner right now. He's the only one on there with a,000 points scored. Oh, no. That make it much more than a,000. That's >> 2000. That's two. >> 20079. >> Yeah. 279. The all-time leader in points scored here at Ever High School. Jared Boyce was a joy to watch. It's nice to see him on the sideline join with his older brother Jerel. And of course, assistant coaches Lewan Swain
and Cif Booty. And of course, our statistics. I'd be remissed if I didn't give a shout out to Carolyn Emanuel. Carol does a great job on her statistics covering the team. Nice defense right there, but a better take by Alindor getting to the basket and rising above. >> Couldn't sink that one. Let's see how he does for uh attempt number two. >> Look at those jerseys. >> Brand new right out the box. font. >> Yeah, nice. Nice font. I see the Jordan Jumpman logo. >> Nice job, Athletics. Nice job, coach. Love the style. >> Malden's really having a tough time getting the ball underneath the hoop. And you got to give it to the Crimson Tide. They're playing one heck of a defense as well as their offense. We're up 8 nothing. Yeah, that was
really good defense by the Tide so far. Really throttling down the Golden Tornado offense and forcing turnovers. Nice entry pass down low to King Dosta. Good defense right there. Number 21. That was Kawh Fernandez Diaz Valaderez turning that aside, but it does stay with the tide as the shot clock's down to 10. Good defense again protecting that rim. McMahon fights for the loose ball, comes up with it. It's going to need some help. >> There's that pressure by the Crimson Tide. So, while they were denied a couple times at the rim, they dig right back in defensively making their presence felt. >> And again, look at the active hands. It's unbelievable. Number three. Yeah, that was Sean Smwa on a really nice feed from Jason Minvveni, but not before again active hands by the Tide.
It was just a little bit that pass got redirected right to a Golden Tornadoes player. Nothing you can really do about that. >> Really the the Ever Crimson Tide really is not giving the Golden Tornadoes any leeway, any time to breathe. And just as I say that, >> almost made that right there getting back in transition. D. Nice rebound by King Dosta. Finds Alundor in the baseline. And that's one thing that coach Boyce hangs his hat on is in the defensive end of the court. If you're making the plays defensively, that's going to lead to the transitional offense and baskets going down. So, it's all about the defense. One thing that Coach Boyce constantly preaches. >> Good defense by the Golden Tornadoes. Poking it away. stays with the tie. Elbow jumper doesn't fall. Vasquez had
made one earlier from that same exact spot. Vasquez with the takeaway. And there it is again. Justin hands all over the passing lanes. Nice dish. How about the give and go? Beautiful feed from Matt Museroo to Sanchez who gave it back to him. And at Museroo's going to get himself a trip to the line shooting too. >> [applause] >> Nice job by the two senior guards. A little give and go right there. >> This will be his first time to the line tonight. >> Take a look at it. Nice dish by Musaru. Unbelievable. >> Gets it right back from Sanchez. You can see the clear foul across the forearm. >> What a great camera angle by You can see him right here. Our one and only video broadcast teacher, Alex O'Donnell. >> That's right. Alex
O'Donnell providing the view from home right there. That's his shot as he is trucking over getting a shot at the free throw shooter. And what's more is that on the opposite side of the baseline is one of Mr. O'Donnell's broadcast students, Pedro Haniki Dilva, who has done a great job joining the ranks of our studio, earning some work under the praise of Mr. O'Don. How about that play right there again? The Tide defense coming up with yet another steal, but that is going to unfortunately be a double dribble. >> You want to talk about rising with the tide, Josh. There's no stopping the tide. Must be a full moon out tonight cuz that tide is rising. It is. But we're looking we're looking like a little bit of a flood. I'm telling you what, Ferry
Street, get your galashes out. Okay. Whatever you got to keep your feet wet, it's flooding on Ferry. Good job by the Tide D. shows up again. Corner three. That's no good. That's a good look though. >> Great job boxing out for the rebound. That was a good look. Oh, McMahon comes up with a nice steal and the easy layup is good. Nice job by Wayne McMahon. And Mc McMahon's had >> I know that we're pretty early in this game, but he's had quite a presence on the court. Oh, yeah. That doesn't fall, but King Dassa is going to get the rebound. [applause] >> Let's check this out. Look at King Dosta getting down low underneath, getting the position on the offensive glass, and he'll go to the line. and he forced that foul. That's really
what you're looking for. >> King D Costa now three for three at the line. Make it four for four. >> Samir King D Costa only a junior. There it is again. Yet another steal. And how about the pass back and forth. How about the chemistry between At Musarude and Sanchez. Oh, they're going to call at him for a travel. But that was really good ball movement once again. At Museroo came up with the steal, fed Sanchez ahead in the break. Sanchez gave it back to him. Apparently at Museroo took one too many steps, but nonetheless, the tide is rising and we love to see it. And again, I can't I can't I can't keep up. Can't keep up with this tide defense. It's unbelievable. Put your track shoes on there sprinting. And that was a
great feed. Alendor finds that Museroo on a beautiful pass underneath. The Tide bench is all fired up as they should be. There's a good look at them dawned in the all black. It looks beautiful. I love it. Coach pinned up in the suit looking beautiful. And the team with the outfit and they're playing like it. You look good, you play better. That's what we're seeing tonight from the Crimson Tide. Let's take a look at our cheerleaders. Yeah, they are. Cheerleaders always doing a great job under the direction of Coach Taylor Leo. Josh, how are we feeling? There's only 2 minutes 49 seconds left in the period. How are we feeling on both sides? >> I mean, right now, Crimson Tide defense is telling the story. They've been all over the place. They have a number
of steals. If if you're on the Golden Tornado side of things, one of your glass half full moments could be, hey, we're not playing very well. We're down 10. It could be a lot worse. They do only have four points, but they've made some good defensive plays themselves. Check out that replay. That was just I mean that's that's when everything is flowing the way you want. That is ball movement to a nth degree. [music] Nice job. Tides coming back onto the court. It's going to be Malden Ball. McMahon going to be throwing it in. So here we go. Golden Tornado trying to cut this to single digits which wouldn't be a bad place for them considering how this quarter is going. But yet once again the Crimson Tide defense is proving to be very difficult
for Mald to even get over into half court creating the backcourt violation. Crimson Tide will get the basketball and yet another turnover that they've forced. >> Josh, I I I keep saying it. I love the way that the Crimson Tide defense is looking. their offense even, you know, we've had a a few stumbles here and there so far, but the defense is really making up for it. And right there, that was a good look by Vasquez, who's a great shooter from three. And then they get it right back again. This time on a turnover that was unforced, but that's what happens when you start getting a hand on every pass. Sometimes you start seeing ghosts out there. Tai playing with five. Looks like a lot more on the court. Good screen. All door works it
around to King Dosta driving baseline. Kicks it back out top of the key. Nice look down to the cutting Alendor. Wow. That's how you draw it up. And that's what I love about Adam at Musherude. His eyes, his vision, he sees all. Finds Alendor. Makes a beautiful cut and a strong finish at the basket. How about Vasquez going to the ladder for that rebound? >> Vasquez has been all over the ball. It's been he's an incredible player. >> And that was pretty close by. >> Oh, that was that was that one just rims out. More good offense by the Tide. You'll take it. They're up 12 with a minute and a half left. What's more, Malden has four points. This quarter is almost over and it's not getting any better as the Tide will get
possession once again on another backcourt violation. This is amazing. I mean, these are 8-minute quarters. >> Yeah. I mean, it it's it's looking pretty good for the Crimson Tide right now. You know, if they keep up this pace, we're looking they're looking pretty good. That's all I'm saying. >> This is how you draw it up. This is exactly how you want to open up the season. showing this. And we have our a first substitution in the game for the Crimson Tide. Number 21, Josiah Papia, a sophomore who's going to make a really nice dish. Welcome to the game, Josiah, on a beautiful look to Samir King Dosta. One too many steps were taken, so Golden Tornadoes will get it off the turnover. Nice dish though by Papia. Papia comes up with the steal. Nice outlet
pass to Alendor. Puts on the Flyers. Gets to it. Rebound. Gets it back. Put back's good. He wanted a rebound for the stat sheet. Gets his own. >> You know, he's happy about that. He's He's running away with some swag right there. >> He's the Tides leading scoreer right now. He's the game's leading scorer. Smwella up for three. Knocks it down. Smwa has five points for the Golden Tornadoes of their seven. Nice three by Smwa from the corner. Shot clock is turned off. Tide can take the last shot or they can continue to run their offense and take the best shot available. >> It's going to take one step too many there. >> Yeah, traveling violation on Alindor. So now the Golden Tornadoes can actually get a little bit of momentum back. 20.9 seconds remaining
in this first quarter. shot clock is turned off. They can bleed that and take the last shot and actually cut this to singles or that's going to happen. And I tell you what, >> McMahon did his best to keep that. >> No, no, great hustle by McMahon. He did a good job hitting the deck, tried to keep it in play, but that is if if you're if if you're looking at it from the Malden perspective, that is not what you want in that situation. You have to at least take last shot. And if nothing else, it's 18-7. Now the Tide have a chance, an opportunity to put more on the board. We got 11 seconds left. >> And it looks like we got Nathaniel Nelson coming in. >> So another substitution, Nathaniel Nelson, >> also
a sophomore. >> That's right. There it is. Couple sophomores right now handling the back court. >> Let's see how he takes it. >> Oh, also in the game is Tyrese Joseph, number 10. Big fella. Turnover there. And that is going to be it. >> After one quarter of play, the Crimson tied with a swarming defensive effort on top by 11. 18-7. We'll let the cheerleaders take the four while I tally some stats right now. We lose [music] shut down right [music] shy. And the cheerleaders always do such a great job. You know, it takes a lot of practice to [music] look that good out there. So, our leading scorer right now, number 14 for the Crimson Tide, that's Jake Allen Dor. He's got 10 points. We also have Samir Kost has got four. Christian Vasquez
has two and Adam at Rouser has two, but it's been Jade Alendor leading the way. Already into double figures after one quarter of play. For the both tornadoes, it's a lot simpler to go down the tally sheet. Right now, it's Sean Smwella who has five points and Ryan McMahon has two. Smwell just hit that corner three. Otherwise, Martin was sitting at four points right until the last 30 seconds of that quarter. So, clearly tie defense. They're telling you what you need to know. They're they're here right now. >> Oh, they're letting you know that you came into their building and they're they're styling on you both ways. >> Offense and defense. If you're Malden, if if I'm the coach from Malden, Don Nally, I'm telling them though, you got to pick up the pace somewhere.
We can't be losing on both fronts. >> I'm sure he is. Coach Nally has been leading the way on those sidelines for a long time now. does a very good job getting Maldin ready and you could tell he's very unhappy with that first quarter but that's why you play four three quarters left they have some time to turn it around while it wasn't the quarter they drew up still down 11 not exactly a landslide to come back from Tide want to keep their foot in the gas there's one way to do it good look from three Christian Vasquez got it on a beautiful feed wide open nice job getting over the screen Vasquez loves the view from down >> you said it right from the top of the game Christian Vasquez is a leader on
this team. You know, he's been on the team since freshman year. He's showing these guys what's what, and that's one way to do it. And another way is a nice steal by at Museroo who finds King Dosta for the layup. [cheering] Golden Tornadoes get one. Colin Okthov for three in the corner. Gets Malden into double digits now. 23- 10. Todd in command up by 13. Make it 15. Vasquez now. Someone put the hot pocket in the microwave. It's heating up. Well, I tell you what, John. You know exactly what happened. As you said, he wasn't the score leader and he's not going to have any of that. >> I tell you what, if they get That's right, Justin. If they get that kind of balance, they're going to be in good shape throughout the season.
If they can divvy up the quarters like that and have guys just taking over, they're going to be in really, really good shape. Vasquez now with a quick five points in that quarter. There's a good look at the replay. Mid-range, the art of the mid-range never lost with Christian Vasquez. Good defense right there by Jaden Sanchez. He's going to stay with the Golden Tornadoes. >> Jaden Sanchez has been all over defensively. Little lacking on the offense, but I get the feeling Coach Boy knows what he's doing and that's not why he's on the court. That's right. No doubt. >> [cheering] >> How about that rebound by Sanchez? >> That's coming back to Malden. >> Wow. >> Yeah. >> Oh, called that a travel. >> No kidding. All right. Yeah. All right. >> Well, at Mushford
says, "Don't worry, I got it right back. I'm going to feed Asandor." Oh, wow. How about that B Sean Skell showed up in a number of ways. No, >> you almost caught that one. >> I was ready for it. I was ready for it. >> You were. You were. I tell you what, if I get my hands on it, I got to shoot. >> But how about the defense by Sakmo? Oh, >> here it is right there. Pinning it against the glass. Someone gets some Windex. Smwell have some prints up there. I tell you what, he's played really well. He's got five points. He's made a number of great defensive plays. He's got good size plays in the perimeter. Good looking player. And he's a sophomore. Wow. All right. Okov looking for the entry pass.
Goes down low to the big fella, >> Valadaris. >> Valid. I tell you what, Valadary got that ball. I don't think that was intended for him. >> Yeah, I know. I tell you what, he skyed up and got it and then he finished up down low in the post. He'll get a chance to three the oldfashioned way. >> Look at that. >> He really did. He high pointed that thing. >> Insanity >> to the last digit on the finger. And nice job. >> How tall taking a look at it. He's definitely over 6 feet, but how tall how tall are >> I'm going to give him uh he he's he's a 6'3 guy, I'd say. Anyway, he he's got some good length to him. 6'2 63. Yeah. And >> he made the three-point play. Golden
tornadoes kind of just lurking right now, hanging around, trying to let the winds pick up. >> I like that one. >> Thank you. >> I like that. >> Thank you. >> They're definitely looking better here in the second quarter, though. There's no doubt in my mind there. >> Yeah. >> Some Don Nally definitely set something on the bench and they're they're they pick, like you said, they're picking up wind. No, >> there's no doubt about it. Tide want to keep it going. And when you got that guy, you can doesn't get it. But how about Sanchez coming up with the rebound? That doesn't go. But the little guy coming up with that one amidst the big boys down there. Nice job by Sanchez. And again, there's that defense never resting. Uh-oh. >> Traveling. >> I
don't know if I agree with that call. >> I thought he just caught it and gathered went up, you know. I uh I Yeah, he didn't he didn't make it, but it was a good look. I I just don't know if it was a travel, but >> wow, how about the defense by Alindor just breaking up the entry feed and then it's Vasquez going the other way. >> I'm telling you, this is this is Vasquez's court. >> Yes, it is. He knows it well. There's a good strong take right there by number one Allan Daryus, another sophomore. So, Golden Tornadoes feature a few sophomores in their lineup. >> You know what I like? I like what I saw by Sanchez there. He did end up getting the foul. However, if you take a look, this
is not it. But a Vasquez, what an animal. That's great. >> Look at that. But >> who's I talking about? Sanchez. Sanchez, he put his arms straight down. He he did end up getting the foul, but >> you'll love to see it. >> And I tell you what, what I love to see is on that that layup make by Vasquez. I mean, that could have been an and one. Finished that with some traffic, some contact, buried that. He could have very well have had a trip to the line for a chance with a three-point play. >> All right, Golden Tornadoes now trying to get into their press defense. Tide do a nice job of just settling it down >> on top by 12. >> The thing is the Tide they don't they don't got to
hurry right now. You know you you're up by 12 if my math is correct. Uh and you're looking pretty good. You know, just take your time coming down the court when you're on the offense and then wear out their offense with your unstoppable defense right now. >> Yeah, no doubt about it. Right now, the Tide, you're seeing it with the passing. Some really good cuts to the basket. >> McMahon again, great defensive player for Malden. >> That one just rims out and yet another steal by at Museroo. Vasquez quickly finds Alindor. Turnaround baseline. No good. Smwell with the rebound. And Allan Derus for Malden there looked very surprised that that layup wasn't going in. >> I know he did everything right. The ball just found a way to come out but it was a good
strong take by Daryus. >> Both teams trading some scoreless baskets back and forth. Daryus almost comes up with the quick steel. Vascad looking for an A. Thought he had one. >> Ah, it was good defense right there. >> Oh, >> unbelievable. >> They were looking to set up the the rim rattler, Sean SMA. But good defense right there again. Stop me if you've heard that before. >> I tell you what, I'd like to take another look at that cuz he read it perfectly. Number 14 for us. Aendor. Am I saying that correct? >> Alendor. Alendor. He knew exactly what they were doing. They were They weren't going for the shot there. He was going for the pass. He didn't have to do anything but put his body in the way. >> Yeah. Yeah. Alson Alson
door is definitely doing some good things. >> You can definitely see that Malden this quarter definitely picking up some steam. Definitely making some better plays. McMahon on the defense. Uh Daryus coming up unfortunately still scoreless but making also also making some great plays on the defense. Almost had that layup the ball toilet bold didn't [music] go his way. >> That's going to happen. Those happen sometimes. There's really not much you can do when that rims out on you. >> Yeah, >> we've talked about Zwa. He's been I' I'd been I'd say he's been their top player to this point. Seeing him on both ends of the floor, he's made some really good plays. Fernandez Diaz Valadaras has also made his presence felt. Again, the big fella down there proving to be be a force. [music]
>> Tide kind of just hanging around this 12point lead. Not a bad place to be. >> That's that's a pretty good place to be. >> It's one of those things, right? You can use the slide scale. You can either [music] continue to drive fast on the highway and really open that thing up or you start getting away from it and all of a sudden, Golden Tornadoes, you don't want to leave that door open. You want to slam it shut right now. Well, what I what I like about it is the tide seems to have slowed things down. You know, that first quarter, they were going hot and heavy. Let's be real. They had to have been gassed once they hit that bench. I like watching them take their time this quarter. You know, they're still
putting points on the board. They're still maintaining the lead. It's just they're slowing down a bit and that's probably so that they can last the rest of the game. >> No doubt. No doubt. Now, >> during that timeout, I don't know if there was a technical foul that was picked up from the Golden Tornado bench. something happened. But we got Vasquez at the line >> shooting technicals. >> Well, if there's anyone that I want to see from Everett shooting technicals, >> it's probably Vasquez. >> Yeah. So, I I'm not entirely sure what happened there. >> I I I I'm going to go out on a limb and say that uh Coach Nally I I believe got teed up. I think he was he he had he had a disagreement of some sorts with the officials
and uh the the tea came out. So Vasquez knocks them both down and then it's Crimson Tide possession on top of it. Vasquez continues to add to his scoring totals. >> Vasquez not looking happy that uh Malden's coach wants to have another talk. >> He's now in double figures. 11 points for the senior. >> Oh, they're going deep. >> Tell you what, great way. Unfortunately, threw it a bit too far, but that's one way to keep it in balance. >> Oh, it's good hustle. Good hustle. And then Alundor returns it with some great defense coupled with that Muserude. And if that defense is going to be here all night, the Tide are going to be in really good shape because this is just they're making life very difficult for the Golden Tornadoes to get any
type of sets. They can't get into their sets offensively. No rhythm. It's really uh this is this is how you draw it up if you're Coach Boyce in the Crimson Tide. >> Josh, you said it's been a busy day for us. It's been a busy day for Ever Public Schools as a whole, but it's also been a busy day for our superintendent, Mr. Billy Hart who just walked in. >> That's right. Now I see Billy down making the rounds. You're going to see him. He has been all across the building making the rounds to some of the other schools. >> Take a look at this >> while we take a look at at Musen Rude on the replay. Yeah, always good to see Billy in the house. >> Pat Muser rims out on him. >>
See if he can knock down the second. At least get a split here. Does just that. >> I tell you what, Alendor told him, "Hey, let's let's calm down, big guy." >> Yeah. All right. >> All right. Settle it in. settlement and that's all. >> I know you can make these. >> That's a great look from uh who else? >> Smwa. >> Second three of the evening. This time it's from the the other corner. Smwa, Golden Tornado's leading scorer with eight points. Oh, but right back. >> Right back at him. >> Vasquez with the three. [applause] >> It's going to be a jump ball. And uh looks like Malden. >> Oh yeah, they got possession there. Look at this. Looks like a good look. >> Looks like Boyce switched him over to a zone defense.
>> Oh wow. Great steal by McMahon. >> McMahon, I'm telling you, he's incredible. >> Gives it back though. Vasquez comes up with the pull up. Jay is good. >> Unfortunately, McMahon, you did you made a great play defensively, but you just threw the ball to the one guy on the Everett offense that you don't want to be throwing to. Absolutely. It's going to set off the uh the the smoke alarm. He's heating up, man. >> Smwa had a good look again. >> Smwell's going to go to the line. >> You know, he's got a he's got great form coming off. >> Look at this. >> He does have >> unfortunately just lands right on him. Yeah, cuz honestly I like the close out by King D Costa, but if you land if if you land
anywhere in the the the feed area of the shooter, the landing area I should say that you're going to you're going to go down with the foul call. >> Kenw missing both of them. >> Yeah. And he's got a third one cuz it was a And they'll take that one. He's one for three at the line. Vasquez going to work. That's no good. Strong defense right there by Mini. You >> know, Vasquez really likes getting into the Payton and doing a fadeaway. Yeah, I you see it's been working for him, don't get me wrong, but >> you know on plays like that, I'd like to see some more ball movement. >> Yeah. >> Well, he's got to test his hot hand. He feels like, hey, I I I'm having an out-of- body experience right now.
Just knocking down everything. >> Wow, what a dish by King Dosta. Back to Muserude. Finds Vasquez. Good ball movement, but keep it moving. Coach Swain looking for them to keep it moving. one of the assistants for the Tide. >> McMahon with the uh rebound. >> Wow, that was an interesting pass. You don't see it go in the books like that. I mean, if Vinnie's going to try it from downtown, that's no good. >> McMahon's been a really physical player. I've seen this kid on the ground more often than not. >> Yeah, I He's He plays tough. He plays tough. I like his style. We are entering the final minute here in the first half. >> Tied on top by 16. Screen set by Alundor. Vasquez heads to the basket. There's a good look at Christian
who's going to get an opportunity to go to the line shooting two. Let's check a look at it. >> Yeah. >> So, I think the foul was on 11 Oak cuz I think MVini had all ball, but Okthov definitely had some on. >> Yeah, he was giving him a bit of a high five there. >> Yeah. >> Oh, Vasquez with the rare miss at the line. >> It's going to be his first of the game, I believe. Greg, >> that is correct. Yeah. He's got 16 points. Make it 17. >> It's a not a bad first half. >> No. No. I'd say he's been doing really well for himself out there. That's definitely got a hand on that one. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Good pass by McMahon looking for Smwa. >> And again, >> great
D by the Tide there. >> It's there every possession at Museroo went in the spin cycle. Good D by the Golden Tornadoes. jump ball, but this time the arrow is pointing to the Crimson Tide. So, they'll retain possession with 34 seconds remaining. Let's take a look at it. It almost looks like he had a bit of a slip there, >> right? >> But, uh, you know, great great job keeping control. Absolutely. >> You know, not letting that bother you and trying to get up there. Oh, Vasquez is going to get a good look at it. >> It's going to be 20 points in the half. >> Wow. >> For Vasquez. >> Vasquez is just on fire. >> Vasquez was looking for the timeout right there. >> Yeah, nice job. Nice job. Good hustle. >> Good
job by both teams keeping >> Absolutely. >> Showing the sportsmanship, playing hard, playing fair, playing right. Vasquez by my count. >> I got him for three threes that he's knocked down. 20 points. >> He's really been success. >> And he's only missed a single free throw. >> It's all Wow, >> Valentis. Yeah, you know, we we're we're looking really good on D. However, I feel the penalties are they're starting to get away from us. Now, don't get me wrong, it's 39. We got a 20-point lead here, but you you keep this up. Eventually, you're going to start you're going to start missing those points. >> Yeah, you got to got to try to keep it. Just keep doing what you're doing. All right. Now, you take the last shot. Right. Final 7 seconds. Oh, the
three-point is good. Fresh off the bench. Number 15, Emanuel Nelson buries a three. How about that? >> What a great way to end that first half. and Nelson coming in hot off the bench and just slamming in the the final points. >> Really though, I mean, he comes right in, buries that three. That's big time bucket right there by Nelson. Tied enjoying a 20point advantage here at halftime. 4222. And that's really you, we talked about it. Defense was all over the place for the Crimson Tide. Amazing. They had their hand on seemingly every pass that the Golden Tornadoes were trying to make and then converting it with good offense on the other end between some of the three-pointers made and some of the transition offense. But we got a lot more still to come, but
right now it's halftime here at the big house on the big hill. Ever on top 422. We'll be back. Get me. I get me. [music] Heat. Heat. [music] Hey, hey, >> [music] [music] >> hey. [music] Yeah. [music] Heat. >> [music] [music] >> Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. [music] [music] Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Yeah. [music] Heat. [music] >> [music] [music] >> Yeah. [music] Yeah. Heat. Hey, heat. Hey, heat. [music] [music] >> [music] [music] >> Heat. [music] [music] Hey. Hey. Hey. >> [music] [music] >> and that's what we're doing here at Ever High School. Big house on the big hill. Sorry, a very big first half for the Crimson Titans. They are on top by 20 points. And they did so by way of the shop shooter Christian Vasquez pouring
in 20 points. And it was that second quarter, Justin, where he turned on the microwave, put the popcorn button on, and said, "Hey, we're popping on the Colonels. I'm making it happen." Josh, I'm telling you, during that during that second quarter, Christian Velasquez, he took over the court, anything offensively, defensively. I [music] How many threes? I think it was like two or three threes that he nailed. [music] Three threes, a couple from around the perimeter. He worked from the arc of the perimeter getting good looks, some great passing by Adam Museru. and he was also joined Jaden Alson Northport in eight points and then Samir King Dosta and at Muserude had six each. So the Tide some balance scoring and then at the very end fresh off the bench. I'd be remissed if I didn't
hype up Emanuel Nelson knocking down the three right before the final seconds finished off that first half. So the Crimson Tide seeing scoring in a multitude of ways, but it's been the defense. If you're just joining us, run back that first half. You'll see all the defense that was had it was stifling by the tide and that's really where they've made this game rise in their favor. And I love Nelson [music] coming in and scoring that. That's the way to bring up the hype going into the half. Yeah, you're already 20 points up, but hitting the three to end the half, you know that that locker room went nuts. Now, Malden, on the other hand, that second quarter, they definitely looked a lot better. They were able to do a little bit more defensively. They
were able to, you know, play the ball a little bit more offensively as well. However, the Tide, like a stone wall, barely let any points through. Yeah, it was I mean again really impressive to see what the tide have been able to do. >> Looks like we got some water on the court. I don't know. Look >> at that. >> Little extra spillage. >> I don't know, but I don't like it. >> I don't like it. >> No slips. No slips. Clean up on aisle 7. >> Is this aisle 7? >> I don't know. You know, aisle 7 usually that's um a lot of the bacon goods and some pastas down there. >> Are you a stop and chop guy? More deoulas maybe a little uh >> so I must admit a lot of my
um a lot of my shopping in person is for the little knickknacks. Um we often do a little uh whether it's a Instacart or u you know have have someone do the shopping for us. We'll pick out the uh the groceries but uh yeah you know I'll do I I would stop and shop for a long time then I'll do a little Whole Foods. Um I I I like me some um I'm also near a uh there's a big Y. >> I know that's kind of a little bit more like what's big Y. It's not bad. >> But yeah, we'll make it happen. >> Oh yeah, >> you can start that. >> Yeah, I know. Ever's going to start it up. Golden Tornadoes definitely led by Sean Smwa, the young sophomore. Nine points. Did a
great job playing with some defense as well. He had a couple threes to his name. So Sakmwell leading the way for the Golden Tornadoes who find themselves down by 20. But Sakmo comes up with the steal to start things off. Sander definitely going to want that one back. You know, it seems like he just fumbled it around. Fumbled around a bit too much with it. >> But don't look now again. Some good Crimson Tide defense. Vasquez is going to throw it in for us. >> Good luck from the baseline. I always love the baseline camera. It's a nice shot. Yeah. But no game would be complete without their camera one. Now, you heard that we had Maria Isabella Rangel on the spotlight earlier in the game, but we have one Maria Helena Rangel up on
up in the bird's nest. Yeah. Up in camera one. It's the uh it's it's the duo. The Rangers are in the house tonight. >> And I tell you what, I love working with the students. Yeah. Getting getting them, you know, because I think we do a pretty good production here personally. I know I'm a little biased, uh but I think we do a pretty good production and, you know, getting them involved and getting them the skills really means a lot. >> Yeah, they do a great job. such great kids to work with and um it's a lot of fun watching them grow each week with each event that happens and uh it it's it's awesome. It's really cool to see it take place right there. Golden Tornadoes made a three by Jason Interi Vasquez to
bring it back. >> Nice take by Vasquez hitting the basket. Tied up by 19. Mini tries another one. This one doesn't go. Uh-oh. Watch out. King D Costa. He's always This guy, I'm telling you, he can throw it down with the best of them. >> Allan Derus really he I think he liked punting that one out. >> Yeah. No, you >> look at this. >> You don't want to end up on a poster. Good hands. Good strong hands by King Dosta. Able to get that pass off. >> Oh yeah. The way to way to get it out of there. You know, Malden, like we said, has been playing, you know, they they they played a better game in that second quarter. And you could see it here, too. They're playing a better game. You know,
that their defense is picking up. However, Everett unrelenting. They'll keep getting the ball back. Don't you worry about it. Oh, that's been been constant. >> Just like that. >> Right on Q with a a nice pass. But McMahon no stranger to the floor burns tonight. >> He's been a big part of Malden's defense. And I tell you what, he's also been a big part of the floorboards. >> Yeah, I know. He's been all over it. He's He's testing out every part of the wood tonight. He's been all over the place. >> I like his style. >> Yeah. No, I do, too. I I I I I'll take a Ryan McMahon any day. He's He's really plays odd. >> Vasquez free throw line jumping. No good. Class Classic fade away from him, though. >> Yeah, he
loves He loves the momentum going away from the basket. >> Oh, he's going to head to the basket on this one. And he makes it look easy. Everyone thinks the layup's the easiest thing. It actually isn't. >> We're keeping track right now. Vasquez with 24 points. >> Quite an opening night for the senior. >> We got a foul on the play. So, going to stay with the Golden Tornadoes. You know, Josh, we talked about our current students. What we didn't talk about is our graduated students who may or may not be directing this very production right now. Mr. Tony Lelaw. Talk about it. >> I'm talking about the alumni bringing the best in and then we we love to see it. >> Tony Tony does a terrific job. Started out as just a young pup
with us and then after experiencing all the righteous ways of the TV studio, Tony Leva just blossomed and he just rips as a director. >> He rips. It rips. Oh, >> I love it. Does a great job. and one of a few that come back. I think we got a couple over in the gala the hub. >> We we definitely got Evan the hub hubbing >> and uh on the audio board we got a audio Alexis. >> Audio Alexis Agular. That's correct. >> Aa that's what the kids call him anyway. >> And those of you that have tuned into our productions in the past know exactly who's on replay. >> That's Bird Marjan. >> Yep. Bird stays landed for the games. Grounded. Another strong take by King Dosta. Look at this. [cheering] >> It's a
great pass. And he brings it right back up into him. >> Here we go. King Deos is solid at the foul line. >> He's been looking good tonight. Been looking good tonight. >> Buries them both. >> Tied with their biggest lead of the evening. Okay, so here we go. Got a 23-point Crimson Tide lead. not showing any signs of slowing down. >> Good look at our SRO's there as well. >> That's right in the background. >> Do a great job. School resource offices. Keep us safe. Give us good advice. Ever's finest. Love to see it. Yeah, good group. Looks like we got Valadaras at the line. There's a look at McMahon >> over the top pass. Sanchez, tell you was right in there. They're going to get him for the foul. But >> I like
Sanchez. I like the way he battles. Yeah, I do. I like his style. >> I do too. He battles. >> Plays much much bigger than he is. >> Tied quickly advancing past half court. Nice take. Doesn't get it to go. Jamil Nelson with the rebound that hangs around. Sanchez now with it. He's going to cross over on McMahon's going to find Vasquez who loves that view. That almost got the shooters bounce. Not a member yet. Out of bounds. Good defense once again. It will stay with Malden. >> It's very rare that Vasquez doesn't make a shot. You're almost wondering >> what happened. It's weird. >> I like it. >> Yeah, I've really liked it on on both ends of the floor. We've talked about the tide defense and then I just love the ball movement
from them offensively finding the open guy. >> Yeah, you know, there the Vasquez, let's be real. Vasquez does like run a lot of this offense. However, you're seeing a lot more uh characters in this play. Uh moving the ball around and look at him calling what he wants. It's a great It's a spectacle to watch at Muserude [screaming] over to Vasquez. Now it's Sanchez. Back to At Muserude. Baseline drop off to Alindor. Good D by the Tornadoes. >> I think the I think the Tornadoes are starting to get wise to Alandor. That's That's one or two plays in a row that we've seen them stop. And >> a collision right there. Vasquez and McMahon. >> Good job helping each other up. Good sportsmanship. >> Absolutely. >> It's always always great to see. You know, they're
>> Malden and Everett. They share the Ferry Street. They're bitter rivals, >> but you don't need that on the court. >> All right. Playing the right way. Watch. You'll see. It was a pretty good collision. >> Oh, yeah. O >> glad they're both okay. >> That's right. >> Cough. Oh, at Loose another steal. He's done it quite a few times tonight. and Smwella barely missing that three. >> Yeah, >> he he's got a he's got a couple of good looks in him uh this game though. >> Vasquez missed from the corner. >> Oh, nice look down low. That was a really good pass, but Okthov unable to finish. And now Smwell unable to finish. That was a really good pass by Chase Bowling who found a wideopen ooth. You said it earlier. Sometimes those wide
open ones on the doorstep. >> Again, Dirt, in my opinion, sometimes you get in your own head and those are the hardest ones to make. >> I I know when I was down the playground, I missed the bunnies all day. I'd much rather take a 22T three, but the way you draw it up, you are supposed to make those when you're that close to the basket. But Malden gets bailed. I think there was a foul called on Everett. >> Yeah, >> we got a timeout as well. So, you're going to get a look at the Crimson Tide cheer. A little picture in picture. Well done, Tony Lelaw. Well done. You know who's controlling that. You know who helps him out on that? One, Jeff Natio. >> Jeff Natio always doing a great job. >> We
love our stream tech. Yeah, he's tell you what, dynamite. Extreme tech extraordinaire Jeff Nishio. >> Love what the guys bring to the table. [music] >> How do you think Boyce is feeling about this the the start to the second half? >> So, um it it's it it hasn't been quite the fury that it was to start the first half. I mean, Tide only have six points this quarter. Now you still have 2 minutes 29 seconds left. What hasn't changed has been the defense. The defense is still there. So that's still something that you're going to feel real good about. But knowing Coach Boyce and how he operates a very tight chip, I'd like to see a little bit more on the offensive end. I think some of the ball movement which has been there at
times I think has become a little stagnant and Martin's been able to get their hands on on on a few more plays than they had in the first half. But again, that defense is still showing itself and that's one thing that you can hang your hat on. >> Absolutely. And I like I said earlier, I think number 14, Alindor, >> I think Malden's got his ticket cuz they they they seem to know and be able to stop him in particular. Now, don't get me wrong, that could just be a coincidence, and I could be over over analyzing this, but I've seen it a few times. you know, he he'll be going to get the ball or going up with the ball and they just seem to seem to get him, which is a difficult task.
He's >> quite tall. >> Yeah. >> This is Nathaniel Nelson now in the game. We saw a little bit of him in the first half. Number 24 for the Crimson Tide. >> Nice take by At Muserude. Doesn't get it to go, but he gets the foul call, so he'll get a chance at two at the line. Nice. Nice job. Vasquez still leading the way with 24 points. >> Unbelie literally half of Ever. >> That's right. I know it. >> However, Everett losing their lead a little bit. Still up by 18. Still up by 18. Uh but unfortunate um to see >> still up by 19. >> They will take it. >> One for two. Still going to help when you can add to it. >> Absolutely. Let's >> see what our every defense that we've
been raving about can do here. just whims out, but Okco gets another shot at it. Now it's a Kemwa. >> Now it looks like and we've we did this not too long ago that it looks like they were playing a bit of volleyball there. >> Yeah, that was that >> just a little bump. >> A little little bump back and forth somewhere. Francancy Doo is smiling. >> Volleyball coach. >> JV volleyball coach. >> That's right. JD volleyball coach of course. Vosity led by coach Fderan who's been at the helm for a while. >> But we do like coach to lose. You know, we got we got preference. You know, she sits next to us in the studio, runs the social medias. >> Hey, refuse to lose. That's what we say. >> That's exactly what we
say. >> All right. So, again, the Golden Tornadoes trying to keep this one alive here. Steal right there by Tyrese Joseph. And if you're molded, you know, he stole that ball, but he it didn't look like he, you know, put too much effort in there. >> Yeah, it was uh it came right to him right in his lap. >> Oh, yeah. Sapia, nice job finding Vasquez. >> And Vasquez back on it. >> Loves his little fadeaway shot. And perfect time to get that. [cheering] P boys doing a little dance there. That was great. >> He was trying to stay out of the kid's way. >> I loved it. He's still got it. The big fella, boys. Quick feet. >> We see him in the halls all the time. He's the man. >> Oh, he's great.
>> Look at this. Look at this. See if we can see it. >> Nice job by Sanchez. Keep it going. >> Watch him. >> There it is. He wants in. >> I love it. >> Love to see it. Oh man, >> that was great. That was great. >> It's a great replay. That was a great replay. >> Thanks for queuing that up, Bird. >> Good job, Bird. And the defense by Sanchez creating that steal. >> Oh yeah, >> Sanchez at Muserude, Alendor, the list goes on. Vasquez, [music] you name it. King Dosta, like go up and down the roster. They've all been active with their defense. I mean, that's the whole starting vibe right there. They've been terrific. but especially at Musarude and Sanchez. Two of the smaller guys on the court, number three and
number four, have been very active. They've come up with a number of steals tonight. >> A Musher has been doing a great job on defense. I want to say at least 40% of the defensive plays made by Everett have been admirable. >> Yeah, he's been terrific. And you see it with the Tide. Their conditioning is showing itself. This is a team that really took to a a rigorous offseason workout program. They've really put the time in. You can see it. Hardworking group of kids, young men that really it shows out in the court. Coach Boyce and his staff doing a great job getting these kids ready. And it all starts in the offseason. They've worked very hard. >> Oh, absolutely. We saw them. We We know we're in this school all year round. me in
here, Josh. And we see these kids all year round working towards it, lifting, running, you know, keeping every keeping their bodies in shape, and more importantly, keeping their minds in shape. Because if there's one thing from Coach Boyce, he doesn't fool around, you are a student first. >> That's right. That's right. That's what I love about him. Student first. Get it done in the classroom, >> then get it done at home. >> That's it. Here. >> Yeah. I love the big house. >> Big house. >> On the big hill. >> It's very big hill. Just a sled down that hill. >> Oh yeah. >> You know what? Good hill. >> I think there was actually a basketball court right about here. >> There was. Yeah. >> Steel backboard. >> Maybe a little bit of broken
glass. I don't know. >> Maybe sometimes. >> That's okay. You know, >> it's good for It's good for you. Listen. >> Going to come up with the rebound. >> Oh, take it. I love it. >> Good look. No, I want I want Nelson taking that. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, listen. Nelson, he he's only got the three points, but if >> And that was the other Nelson going for the >> I think the time was ticking off a little faster than he thought. Uh he could have probably taken that a little closer to the basket. Maybe not the wide open layup, but it was it was a good take. You know, we we talked about our video production. You know who we forgot about? Our wonderful photographers. [music] >> That's right. That's right. Joining us here,
we have, of course, our very own Miguel Ventura Giannis. >> Yeah. And he does a great job. If you if anyone uh looks at the soccer Instagram almost exclusively and down at the gala, of course, you know him, you'll love him. He's [music] humble. Val Flores Million. >> Valentino Flores Million. Affectionately known as Humble Val doing a great job covering it down at the gala. Our [music] photography program continuing to soar and uh it's great. No, it's really awesome. [music] Those guys are doing a great job. Happy to have them on board. Yeah, the whole the whole crew I mean really been great tonight. >> Yeah. entire crew has been [music] amazing. >> That's right. >> As you know, if things aren't going quite great, I get a little grumpy and you know, they they
they took it like champs. >> That's right. >> I will say that. >> Yeah. No. Hey, that's what makes it work. You know, you got to have a coach Milo in your staff. >> Oh, yeah. >> And you're coach Milo. >> I love it. >> Got to get you got to get him fired up sometimes, you know. >> You have to. You have to. Sometimes it's it's all business. >> No, it is. It's all business. Nothing personal. It's all love. >> And all business just like Everett right now on this court. We got one of the Nelson's coming in. >> Nice take right there. That's Josiah Pathia. It's a really good take. >> I definitely read that number wrong. >> Oh, no. There's a We do have a few Nelson. >> Yeah, we got at
least two. >> There's two Nelson's on the roster. >> There's three Nelson on the roster. J Emanuel and Nathaniel >> Jinx. >> Double Jinx. No takeback. I don't know if that's a thing anymore. Should be. >> 1995 it was. >> We're bringing it back. >> That was the year you were born. >> It was. >> I was in fifth grade. Fine. >> I'm not Stop it. >> McMahon with the steal. >> Has McMahon come out of the game like McMahon? I don't think so. I think McMahon McMahon's all over the place. Look at that. >> Wow. Wow. That would have been a good look. >> That would have been something. Oh, guess who's on the floor? McMahon. He's great, man. He hits the floor. He took about three knees to the head. Didn't even blink.
[applause] >> Tell you what, that was awesome. Yeah. >> Nathaniel Nelson. Oh, [screaming] I like it. Looks like we got an injured player. >> Hope McMahon's all right. Telling you. >> Oh, man. You know, we've been saying it the entire game. He's a physical player and >> it had to have caught up with him. >> Yeah. >> You know, you can't be doing that. >> I'm thinking he probably just banged his knee. I'm hoping he's all right. I mean, he's doing he's he's walking on his own power. He looks all right. But, uh, you know, I I >> I'm not going to tell you how to play the game. He could definitely beat me at this game. Let's be real. Uh, but the the physicality, you know, maybe maybe switch it up a bit. >>
And that Crimson Tide defense is every bit physical. >> Oh, yeah. >> Nice basket right there by Valadary getting over the long outstretched hand of Joseph. Oh, Nelson going the other way. Wide open. Oh, doesn't get it to go. >> Good take though. That was a good take. >> Absolutely. Looks like Boyce coming in with a hoorde of subs. >> Yes, >> Josiah Papia out in front of the break. Nice take by Papia. >> Good strong drive to the basket. That was a great play. Absorbs the foul. He'll go to the line shooting too. seeing some real nice things from the young sophomore. >> They it it's looking bright. The future's definitely looking bright. And boy, take a check that out. >> Yeah, good replay right there. Almost got it to fall, >> you know.
And it looks it looked good, too. >> I'm telling you, I like the look of this young player, Josiah Papia. >> Yeah, >> definitely the future of the Crimson Tide right there. >> Telling you, well put together, too. That's got to get him in the football field, too. >> The sports always lined up well. You play football, you play basketball, they play well together. >> The old coach Diazo teams, you knew your starting five, you were going to have some football players out there. >> But I love the way the Tide has played tonight. >> Absolutely. >> Just just all out energy, intensity, attention to detail. All things that that's preached in the huddle by coach Boyce and his staff. You're seeing it come to fruition on the court. And that's why this has been
largely a Crimson Tide lead and and majority so this game. And I like the way that they've been doing it. They've been it's not all go go go go. It's been off and on and off and on. Like not saying that they've like not saying that their play has been off and on and off and on, but their pace, you know, you you I said it I said it last half, you know, the first half they played hot and heavy. The second or the first quarter they played hot and heavy. The second quarter they slowed it down a bit. And you know what was crazy? They actually I believe they scored more points in the second >> quarter. >> Yeah. Had to had to think about my fractions there for sure. >> They got some
fractions there. They got some fractions. They're doing fractions. >> Well, the Tide have led wire towire in this game. Opening free throws by Samir King Dosta. They have not looked back. >> Oh, what a great shot by Sandor. >> Oh my goodness. >> Unbelievable. >> That was for the real right there. That was beautiful. >> [cheering] >> comes up with the rebound. >> Oh, nice take. >> There he is. >> Nice take Vasquez. >> Who else? Continuing to scorch. He's got 28. >> You know, he dropped a little bit below half of his team's points. So he >> Yeah, >> he's not going to let that stand. >> Yeah, he cooled off, I guess. >> Well, he went to the bench actually is what happened. Yeah, >> gave him a break. >> Literally let him
cool off. Vasquez with the rebound out front at Couple good takes right there. >> They're going to get at Musaroo in the foul. We got Pipia coming out. >> I like the look of Yeah, you know, >> I love it. >> He He looked great out there. He's a sophomore playing on the Varsity team. >> Really enjoyed the way the way he played. Energy, the way he attacked the basket. I I'll take that all day. Nice, nice basket right there by Valadaras, who has also proven to be one of Martin's top players. >> Absolutely he has. >> He's a senior. >> Good defense right there by David Kintu. >> Kintu now tries to get it around Sanchez. And the take right there. Chase Bowling will go to the line. >> Believe this is his first
time to the line. >> That's correct. He's got a 500 right there. >> Yeah, take it. Sanchez. Oh, >> Sanchez is quick. You saw how fast he got up and made it back. actually beat the ball carrier to where he was going. >> Oh, nice basket right there. That's going to be a Molden timeout, I believe. Looks like it. >> Looks like Al O'Donnell's having some fun out there. >> Yeah, someone let him know he's live. >> Where's your tally, O'Donald? Oh man, that was great. >> Here's our cheerleaders again. They are >> always do a great job. >> Some I guess they found my choreography, huh? >> They definitely Yeah. Well, >> sure. >> I didn't know anyone saw me at Ned Divines back then, but there I was. >> Well, you know, Taylor
Leo and I run in similar circles, their head coach, so sure she found the VHS tape of that. That's fine. Nice job by AI just let's take a look at a replay from earlier. [music] >> Oh manu Museru has done a really great job [music] again. Pretty much completely defensive player. However, when he needs to he'll he'll get under that basket. >> Oh yeah, >> I'm a fan. I'm a big fan. I I've and every everyone that's uh stepped on the court tonight for the Crimson Tide, >> they've they've done it. >> They've played hard. They've done everything right. Entry pass down low. They're going to get a foul. Man, Papia is going to be checking back into the game. Justin, >> I know you're excited about that. You love seeing the young kids. >>
Oh, I love it. All fired up. >> Now, here's here's what I was saying earlier, Josh. I if there's one thing that I can say about the Ever Crimson Tide, it's the penalty. It's the fouls. You got to got to calm down when you're under the basket. It feels like every other play we're getting. >> Yeah. I think, you know, Malden's Mald's trying to create those matchup, those mismatches where they have, you know, a big guy on a little guy and then it's tough on the little guy. He's trying to he's trying to be scrappy trying to climb the ladder on someone and that's that's how those fouls are going to be committed. >> Mike Bod's in the house. Look at that. Mike Body in the background. >> Tell you one half of There's actually
two members of the band here tonight. Mike Bonnie and uh we got David Han doing the cow. >> That's right. Come on. >> Speaking of the band, >> bring the boys back together. Uh speaking of the band, uh we would be remiss if we didn't shout out our uh trumpet playing video engineer. There he is. There's your boy. Yes. Trump playing video engineer, Joseph Camley. But Pacipia, what a guy. >> Josiah Pacia all over it. Beautiful take to the basket. Little finger roll off the glass. Just a slight touch. >> And he's going to get another another shot. >> That was great. >> First time at the line. >> We'll see what he does. >> And he did that for Joe Camley during that game. >> He did. He did. Everyone does it for Joe
Camley. >> Hard not to. >> What a guy. >> Everyone knows him. >> Let's take a look at this. He thought Joe Camley. >> Wow. right there. >> What a take. Papia playing really well. >> Knocks it down. Telling you, you got you got someone like Papia coming off your bench with the start and five you have. I like I like it. I like it a lot. >> Close the door. The safety again, you know, I really like what Sanchez did there, though. He read the he read the defense pretty well. >> Put the brakes on it. >> Unfortunately, unable to get that, but he's got his back. >> Oh, that's right. That's right. But it was a good take by by Sanchez. Papia really stringing together a very nice second half. [cheering] We >>
got another wholesale change coming up. >> Boyce is going to Costco. He loves the wholesales. >> Oh, that's good. Good deals. >> Looked like pretty good by Alendor, hence the incredulous look he gave and a welldeserved. Looks like that should do it for the the prime time players for the evening. And check it out. Big hug from Coach Boyce to the young sophomore Josiah Papia and the rest of the starting five. That was great. >> You know, besides Vasquez, I think I think just Papia's He's moving up the charts in your >> Awesome. Oh yeah. No, I'm getting I'm getting a Papia jersey right away. Going to the team store, the sideline store. I want a Papia jersey. I want it in the city edition. Give it to me in the all black uni with
the red trim. I'm here for it. >> I know we I know we talked about it already, but these unis are really, you know, they're really what a way to open up the season. You're at home. You're versus Malden. You're in the black and red. >> A me little cursive font. Are we going to start? Is Fran on that? We going to get Fran on that? >> I think we're going to have to we're going to have to get after, >> you know, it it looks like a classic font is what it looks like to me. And I'm I'm really into it. I think we're changing all the concert graphics now. >> Oh yeah, we're going to have to go back. >> I was using uh Palent Palutino type, but [laughter] we're going to go
over to that that classic. >> Me personally, everything I write some of wing digs. >> I always didn't I never can understand your tease. >> There's a good take by J Nelson. Unable to get it to go. Tide enjoying this one comfortably. up by 24 as we approach the final minute here this evening and you can't even say that Maldin played bad today you know I mean I we there's still a minute left but you know there there's it's 24 point difference but you can't even say that Malden played you know bad today they they played a great game it's just unfortunately The unstoppable defense of the Crimson Tide today was here to play. >> Yeah, it was a buzz saw. It was a buzzsaw. Maybe they're a little jealous of the of the unis.

We got middle school basketball championship here in the city of Everett. >> It is my favorite thing we do in Everett. >> And I tell you what, it's a double whammy. It's the Pin versus the Lafayette in both the girls and the boys final. >> Panthers Lions right here, Big House on the Big Hill. We'll be bringing you the coverage live starting at 5:00 tomorrow with the girls championship and then followed by the boys championship right after. And you know, I get excited about this. The fans showing Coach Boyce and the basketball team much love after that performance over a bit of rival. That was just electric. That's what you want to see here in the Big House on the Big Hill. It's the [music] Crimson Tide taking this one in comfortable fashion. 66- 43. Christian Vasquez was the story here. Just shy of 30 points. I had him at 28. I'm unofficial of course, but uh he was just sensational knocking down threes, attacking the basket, pull up jumper, and then just the defense all around. You can go up and down the roster. Guys just left it all out the
floor. It was really good to see the Crimson Tide open up the season 1 and0 after a big victory. Really fired up with that performance.
