[Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] I Hello and welcome to this broadcast of Everett homecoming on EHS TV15 Everett's education channel. My name is Animosmani and joining me is Paul Hollerin. Once again, it's homecoming here in Everett, Massachusetts and nobody does it quite like us. Homecoming here in Everett isn't just about peak spirit week with the student body. It's about community, pride, and tradition, and also city unity. That's why no one does
002homecoming quite like ever. In fact, festivities kicked off last night at 5:00 p.m. in Glendel Park where everyone was treated to free hot chocolate, face painting, live music, fireworks, food trucks, and much more. And the festivities obviously had a huge early start this morning here on Saturday. As you can see at the drone footage that you're seeing provided by the city, we're even having a parade into the stadium. That's the processional parade as we get >> as we get geared up for a special onfield dedication ceremony to John Debazu Jr., legendary head football coach. And then followed by our regular season, our regularly scheduled football game between the Ever Crimson Tide and the Lyn English Bulldogs. Festivities are today started at 8:30 a.m. with a free, excuse me, not free, but a pancake breakfast offered
003at Ever High School to the community and also a 5K walk slash run in honor in memory of Janet Connie O'Neal, a community member who battled breast cancer. News of today's special onfield ceremony. Before the kickoff, the city will officially dedicate the field inside Veterans Memorial Stadium in recognition of head coach, former head coach John Deb Jr. who coached here from 1992 to 2017. Coach DB won an astounding 252 games and guided the Crimson Tide to 12 Super Bowl titles. Of course, he also had a lot more Super Bowl appearances to his name. >> Yeah, he actually a name uh appeared in five other Super Bowls as his record in the championship game. Uh the probably the most that's probably the most amazing stat is in 26 seasons here. 17 of those ever played in
004the final game of the season. Uh you you talked about his record, 12 Super Bowl titles. The other thing about it and and you know we've seen what's happened since he left. Uh he you know you never want to have to try to replace the legend and and they're on the uh well technically the fourth third person fourth coach. Um you know the program was in rough shape when he took it over. They were a middle of the pack to a doormat in the GBL and he instantly turned it around. uh seven and three right off the bat uh in 1992. So uh you know he brought them to the heights. Uh they have some work to do. You know today is really about celebrating what coach Diaso did. you know what during the broadcast
005we'll talk about what's going on currently, but it it's a rather unfortunate dichotomy because uh I went back and watched the Habil game last night and uh this is my 25th season of doing Ever football and I have not seen a worse effort than that. So there's plenty of room to grow. I I think coach Dorettto is the guy. Uh but they have a lot of work to do. But today is about honoring the past and the tremendous job that uh coach Dviaso did in his 26 seasons there making Everett the preeeminent high school football team in the state of Massachusetts. And walking on to the field right now, we're going to start off with a couple of Everett dignitaries. The procession led by Superintendent William B. heart and flanking him is Mayor Carl Deuria.
006Behind him is the Ever High Cheerleaders followed by the marching band and I believe we also have a walk of legends not too far behind them in this parade that we're doing here in Ever Massachusetts. Well, I think you know it is it's always good to celebrate the past and certainly what coach DBasso did is worthy of a million celebrations, but I do think it's especially pertinent in lie of the current situation. I mean, you know, these ever kids that they still have a target. You know, you you've seen it every week. >> Well, if I may have your attention, >> I think the mayor's going to speak, which would be more important than me speaking >> to the 50 yd line. >> And then we're going to have to take a break here. We're
007going to toss it over to the PA and the speakers >> and we'll come right back after >> and it's going to the greatest coach of all time. Okay. >> John Dibazo Jr. And as the band finishes up, >> I will introduce our speaker. Before you is our mayor, Carlo Di Maria, to present this very special honor. Thank you, Josh. >> Good afternoon, everybody. >> Guess we're going to give everybody a few minutes to come in from the uh from the march here. It's great. What a beautiful day. Great Saturday, right? We all excited. >> You're all excited for homecoming. >> Thank you, Superintendent Hart and your entire team. Thank you to the uh countless city employees who making this day possible. Uh we really appreciate all of you and and uh it's a it's
008a great honor to be here as your mayor to work with the schools to bring homecoming back to the city of Everett. Right. Give yourselves a round of applause. [Applause] [Music] Just trying to get all the families in here. John's here. Coach Dib. Just want to make sure we all get everybody in here. >> Where is Where is Coach John Deaza? John [Music] >> and family. [Applause] >> You want Yeah. You want to say a few things first? >> All right. It's good to be It's good to see you back here on this field with us. It's an honor. It's an honor. We love to watch you. I'm humbled to be here with you. We We have uh these families still coming in. Some great athletes who served who played with you, played under you.
009We have some ever greatest families who played in the NFL and in college here as well. Um all here to honor you. We uh truly uh I know your your parents are shining down on you, looking at you. Your father definitely uh looking down at you saying how proud he is of his son. >> Still don't know what Moren saw in you that 10 my 10th year my sophomore year in high school when you were banging on the door trying to court her. >> Remember those days? >> 1987. We all in here. Everyone still coming in? Still coming in. So I don't want to start without everyone coming in. Uh it's a great day. It's great to see so many people here that I haven't seen in years. So many uh some of John's uh
010like I said, some of the boys who played for John and girls who who cheered for Marin. Uh families who came back today just to see what was going on in the city. people from all over the state coming to see and honor one of the the greatest the greatest high school coach in Massachusetts history and probably one of the greatest coaches in the country what he did here in Everett uh no one could do I mean he just he he changed the direction of our city by just changing boys lives in our community and we couldn't be prouder to be here today with him So, I'm going to start my official remarks as everyone was coming in. Again, I just want to uh thank everyone for being here, especially all those great Everett families
011who who play football, play just sports in the city. Uh great families that are here. Uh families of former NFL stars, former college stars. Uh true true wonderful great ever people. And there's so many of you here. I'm not going to take the whole list. I'm probably going to miss somebody, but thank you. Thank you for coming back home and celebrating this day with us with with us all. So, good afternoon everyone and welcome home. On behalf of myself and my wife Stacy again and my children and my parents, God bless you all. Homecoming is one of those rare moments that reminds us of who we are as a community. It's a time when generations of students, alumni, and families come together, not just to celebrate a game, but to celebrate pride, tradition, and unity.
012Homecoming is about connection to our school, our city, and to one another. It is about remembering where we come from, honoring the people who have shaped our journey, and celebrating the shared values that make Everett so special. And today we gather to honor one of those people. A man whose leadership, integrity, and dedication have left an everlasting mark on Everett. Coach John Diazo. Coach John Dibbeazo just didn't just coach football. He built a foundation of excellence. Under his guidance, Everett became a powerhouse known across the region and beyond for its discipline, teamwork, and drive. But his true legacy reaches far deeper than the record books. It lives in the countless players he mentored, the lessons he instilled in the community he strengthened. He taught that success comes not just from talent, but from commitment, from
013showing up, working hard, and standing by your teammates. He reminded every player that being part of Everett football meant being part of something greater than yourself. A brotherhood built on trust, respect, and heart. Coach John Divazo demanded the best because he gave his best. His passion for the game and for the city was unmatched. And through his leadership, he didn't just shape players. He shaped leaders, fathers, and citizens who carry his lessons into every part of their lives. And a lot of you are here today. He built a culture culture of respect, pride, and perseverance, and the spirit has become part of Everett's DNA. His influence extended far beyond the sidelines. It reached into classrooms, homes, and hearts. Coach Diazo showed us that success isn't about individual glory. It's about lifting each other up, about
014teamwork, and about giving you your all for something you believe in. And today, as we dedicate this field in his honor, we do more than place a name on a sign. We honor a lifetime of commitment. This field will forever stand as a symbol of his impact. A place where future generations will run, learn, compete, and grow onto the under the same values he taught. Discipline, perseverance, and pride. And of course, behind every great man stands a great family. To his wonderful wife Men, his daughter Christina, and his son Jonathan, we thank you for sharing him with us all these years. [Applause] Your love and support made his success possible. You were part of every game. Look at the sun's coming out, right? You were part of every game, every victory, and every moment that
015built his leg legacy. On behalf of the entire city of Everett, it is my great honor to say thank you, Coach Dibazo, for your leadership, your loyalty, your la your lasting contribution to this community. You gave Everett more than victories. You gave us pride, unity, and the belief that greatness is built through hard work and at heart. Your name on this field will will remind every player who steps onto it that excellence is not just achieved, it's earned day after day through dedication and love for the game. So today at homecoming, surrounded by family, friends, and the city you helped shape, we celebrate not only your remarkable career, but your enduring spirit. Everett is proud of you, grateful for you, and forever inspired by you. Thank you, Coach John Deazo, and thank you, Everett, for
016car carrying his legacy forward for generations to come. It is my honor and my privilege and pleasure to introduce to you a man who needs no introduction in the city of Everett and especially in this field, Coach John Deazo. [Music] [Applause] [Music] >> Thank you. Thank you very much. I'm going to try to be very brief because I know the players can't wait to play. Uh I first of all, I'd like to thank the mayor, Carlo Di Maria, city government, and a special thanks to Jerry Navara, one of my former players who made this happen. Uh, I am both humbled and extremely proud to be recognized here today. And I'd like to also thank the thousands of players that I had the privilege to coach here at Ever High School. Goddamn Echo Chamber here. uh
017they they wore the Crimson U farm with distinction and pride and there's far too many to mention anyone so I don't want to forget people. I'd also like to thank the wonderful assistant coaches that I had the pleasure working with. One man I have to mention is my assistant for over 40 years, Coach Mike Milo. [Music] I had the pleasure of having so many great assistant coaches, people like Jake Valvi who flew in from Oklahoma for today. My close personal friend who I played at Everett High School with Johnny Capra. people on your staff today. Coach Robbie Dlero, Claudy St. Just, so many more. And God rest their souls, the ones that have passed away and passed on. People like Bippy Emanuel, Frankie Nazaro, Paul Funk, just great human beings and we miss them and
018think of them even today. Next, I'd like to thank the equipment people that I had the pleasure of working with. Mr. Paul Beraton, Mr. Joe Lento, Mr. Steve Gallagher, and Mr. Charlie O'Bri. [Applause] We had a lot of wonderful team managers, and I can't mention them all, but I want to thank them for sacrificing and coming down here every afternoon. Our trainers, Rachel Lone, Jeff Saluke, just great people. I'd also like to recognize a couple of special gentlemen. First off, the press boss is named after one of my lifelong friends, Mr. Jack McGrath, Mr. Anie Borman, who wrote the book on Everett football. Mr. Borman dedicated his life to chronologing the accomplishments of Everett football. Lastly, Mr. Bill Perkins who came down from Maine. Mr. Perkins was my personal mentor. I've known him since I
019was a little kid playing pop down Sacrimon Park. Thank you, Bill. the countless cheerleaders and parents who supported the team week in and week out. Again, I I can't mention all the names, but thank you for being there for us. the administration for the Everett public schools and the faculties at Everett High School who were so wonderful from to me and my wife and my children. I'd like to thank you all as a group for being so supportive of our program and the boys. [Applause] Lastly, I'd like to just mention some of my family, my sister and brother-in-law who are here. Uh, my brother-in-law, the most popular teacher at Everett High School even today, Mr. Paul Kangiano and Trisha Tangiano. You politicians should better be worried because if he runs he's he's sure thing. >>
020My uncle who played at Ever High School and supported and followed me since I started coaching, Mr. Bob Sansson, [Applause] my son and daughter for sacrificing being good children and they are the loves of my life and they are my leg legacy going on. We my two kids grew up at 548 Broadway in the old gym. then at 100 Elm Street in the new gym and then down at Cabbage Street at Everett Stadium. They never got a vacation in the fall because of football. They never got a vacation in the winter because of basketball. They never went away in the summer because of weightlifting. So, they sacrificed along with my wife and I'm just so blessed to have them. [Applause] my wife Maren, who I met in the halls of Everett High School in 1987,
021and she's been me with ever since through wins, losses, ties. when I was a little bad word when I came home she stood by me and she sacrificed and it I can't have ever had a better person by my side [Music] to the fans of Everett football people like Freddy Merchant Donna Vesperini who lived and died for ever football, thank you so much. In closing, I just want to tell the Ever football team and the kids that played for us throughout the years, we have 860 plus wins. That's a record in Massachusetts, all of New England. We have 28 st state championships, the most of any team in Massachusetts. And everybody in here loves you, but everybody else in the hates hates you. One example, at my game about a week ago, I got wiped
022out on the sidelines. I'm not as fast as I used to be. They took out my knee. They took out my ankle. Broke my foot and my big toe. After the game, my son, feeling bad, took me to a local restaurant. Two mothers from the opposing team came up to me. The woman said, "I'm from Malden. >> Do you know how to get back to Morgan? Right away, I knew she didn't know who I was, >> even though I had Captain Mar sweatshirt on. >> It didn't take an ice agent to know where I was from. She looked at me and she said, "Can you believe that old bastard Deviaso still coaching on my kids? He's got to be goddamn 80 years old." When he got wiped out during the game, I was praying he
023didn't get back up and died right there. My parents are Everett people. My mother died on the game of a game 1995. We were playing the Super Bowl team 93. I apologize. We're playing Arlington. We were losing in the fourth quarter. My mother's spirit was on this field. Arlington running back fumbled the ball. Danny Norman scooped it up, ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, and we won. I swear to this day, she punched it out of that kid's eyes. Her spirit was here. Now, I didn't say anything that night when the woman was berating me. She still doesn't know who I am. I I bit my lip. I have the cut right there to prove it. Didn't say a word because I promised my wife from 1991 when I was arrested up in
024puberty after a game that I would never ever get arrested again. I kept kept my promise. But [Applause] that was impe. The woman accosted me in Boston. This is godamn Everett. [Applause] [Music] I've had 90% of the cops play for me, lady. They're not going to arrest me here. They'll take you off. So hopefully not in the near future, but someday when you're at an Ever game, and I've passed on, when that other team fumbles the goddamn ball, this will be the fist that caused the fumble. Thank everybody so much. God bless you and roll tide >> Jerry John Billy um coach say coach we uh on behalf of uh the city of Everett we just have a little gift for you. It's an aerial shot of the stadium um for you to hang up
025at your home with your name on it, of course. Congratulations. We love you, coach. >> Thank you. So, >> where is that? Hey, coach. [Applause] Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. [Music] [Applause] 5. Hey, hey. [Music] [Applause] And now, if everyone could make their way off of the field heading towards the north end zone by the VIP tent. Again, if you could make your way off the field heading towards the north end zone towards the tent. Thank you. [Music] Hey, [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] >> what a wonderful event. put together by the city in collaboration with Ever Public Schools to put together this ceremony for John Diaz Jr. Also joining him today are all the players that played under him from 1997 to 2017
026as they head off to the VIP 10 zone right now located in the north end zone. And as the field clears, we will honor our seniors of the cheerleading and band programs. >> And now proceeding on to the >> Stay tuned in just a moment. We'll have that and we will announce our senior football players after the game. So stay with us for that as well. >> We don't have anyone down there handling audio. And also after the game, a very special performance by our band. It'll be a finale of all sorts. Coach DBaso having his picture taken with the 2025 Ever Crimson Tide. And boy, I'll tell you, if you're wearing an Everett football uniform today and you are not inspired to run through a brick wall, I would say that you should have
027your you should have your pulse checked. That was, as you said, anem a wonderful ceremony. uh highlighting the modernday history of ever football uh and that is the John Debaso era which took place from 1992 to 2017, 252 wins at Everett. He's won 127 other games. Of course, he started his career at the old St. Patrick's of Watertown, went on to Western High School and then came to Everett and now has gone on to win four titles at Captain Memorial. >> Introduce our seniors in regards to introduce senior cheerleaders. >> I band members applause. So, as I say, they'll give players. So, there's a lot to get done to here today on homecoming day. >> L English finally is come out. They were inside for that ceremony and they're now warming up uh at the
028end of the field and >> I think coach Dorettto was going over to talk to >> coach McDonald of English and >> probably apologize for all the distractions but a lot of work to do today. So uh just a terrific terrific ceremony and we will go to the senior day ceremony. Justine Lynch, >> Kirsten Carropaluchcci, [Music] >> Caitlyn Peralatha, co- captain Emma Perry, and co- captain Danica Fam. And now I'd like to introduce the seniors of the marching band, >> Ashley Peda Ramos, [Applause] >> Allison Alorakon, Aosta, Tessa Ford, Laura Agular, [Music] Amelia McNali, [Applause] Selena Shra, Elizabeth Landerie, Isadora Dcastro, Menddees, Natalie Romero Velasco, and one more time, let's hear it for our senior band and cheer. millionaires. >> And once again, after the game, we will introduce our senior football players and a
029finale performance by our marching band. So stay with us when all the action ends. 1:30 p.m. >> That's 10 minutes from now. And until then, we're going to go over a little a little bit of a recap of what just occurred here on homecoming day or homecoming weekend as festivities started on Friday last night at 5:00 p.m. at Glendo Park. Had an early start today and we had a nice coverage of the procession that happened before the onfield ceremony honoring John Dezer Jr. We also had an appearance by state senator Salico >> who made his way into Everett and joining the occasion. Also like to recognize members of the Ever School Committee, Mayor Carl De Maria, chairperson Samantha Hurley, vice chairperson John, Jean Cristiano at large, Kristen Baros, Joseph Lmonica, Margaret Cornelio, Joanna Garin, Robin
030Babcock, Marko Baros, and Joseph Dinario. More on that when we come back. But for now, Paul and I will take a break and we'll come back right before kickoff. [Music] Happy [Music] Daddy. 31. [Music] Hey Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music] This is a place where the legends before us carried on a legacy of winning. [Music] >> Oh, easy pitch out. [Applause] 40 35 30 20 fifth touchdown. Easy. No flag. >> It has always been the passion, determination, and teamwork that makes it who we are. >> To give to Diamond Ferry gets around the corner. One man to beat. Steps it up. He's gone. They're not going to catch him. >> Nobody's going to catch him. He's gone for the
031touchdown. [Music] >> A commitment to excellence is our way of life. find a pass and it is intercepted. Who else but Lucas Dennis is there to pick it and it's a pick six forever. Touchdown trip. [Music] Winning is what we know and what we do. [Music] [Applause] [Music] And we're back on air. I'm Animosmani and joining me is Paul Hollerin. We're shifting gears here to get ready for our regularly scheduled kickoff time against Lynn English Bulldogs. Well, on to the game and tremendous uh tremendous ceremonies. They had the video montage highlights of all 12 of coach DBaso Super Bowl titles. Those are playing not only on your screens, but out on Chelsea Street. Uh we have a tent down to our left with some of the former players and coach CBaso and his family. So
032festive atmosphere, but there is a football game. And you know, we we talked right before we went off the last time about, you know, this team being motivated today. And you know, they find themselves in a playing for pride type position. You know, they're two and four. They're ranked number 28th in division one. They're barring a miracle will not make the postseason, but there's still games to play and they're still wearing a uniform that kind of requires them to put in the effort worthy of that uniform. So, we certainly hope to see that today. Uh this is a good matchup. Lynn English uh is a team that has only beaten Ever once and 13 times. This series dates back to 1942. Everett's won eight straight. But you know, two teams coming into this game on
033totally different um uh levels, if you will. English lost their first two. They've won four in a row. Everett won its first two and has lost four in a row. Couple of very good opponents, you and I talked off air. Zavarian's obviously very good. BC High's pretty good. Taton's could be very good. Haver's average and uh I don't I don't even know if we should mention the stats from that game, but since I did took the time to do them, uh TW 20 first downs for Hil, two for Everett, 36 yards of total offense for Everett, 420 for Haveril. So, that's tough to swallow if you're wearing crimson uh and garnet. Uh I would suspect we're going to see a much better effort here today. And the players there head into the locker room for
034a brief moment and they'll do their traditional run through the cheerleader tunnel and breaking the banner at the end before they head to the sidelines. And we'll get ready for the playing of the national anthem, the coin toss, and then finally kickoff. Little bit of a delay to the 1:30 PM kickoff time, but that's all right. Still a festive atmosphere. We did honor John Dezer Jr. and also in the highlight reel, we saw his son making some plays, who also had a lot of good accolades to his name. Jonathan was one of the best quarterbacks ever to play in Massachusetts and rolled up unbelievable numbers. Uh he's not here because he would be in Louisville with the Boston College football team. He is the quarterback's coach and they are playing. They had a tough one
035tonight. Speaking of teams that have fallen on tough times, uh the BC Eagles are right there, the the collegiate version. Uh they have a tough game at Louisville tonight. Uh Louisville, of course, coming off that big win at Miami. So, good crowd as usual. And if we start a homecoming game 5, 10, 15 minutes late, that's really on schedule, you know. And hats off from the mayor on down to the superintendent to everyone who made this happen. You know, there's certainly reason to do it, especially with the naming of the field. But homecoming, you know, there aren't a lot of high schools who do it like this. I I know of no other ones. You know, certainly at the college level it's done like this. So, hats off to Everett for bringing it back. And,
036uh, you know, the idea is that the football program comes back, too. As I said, Coach Doredo is a very solid coach. Uh he's got a good staff. Uh he's going to have he's going to need some time and he's going to have to put his imprint on what's going on here. So you see the band uh playing. We're waiting for Everett to come back on the field, hoping for about a 145 kickoff. And uh as we said, this is a winning English team. this game, you know, in in the MIAA uh scenarios, it's actually a much bigger game for them because they're 18th in division three with the top 16 making the playoffs and Everett would uh ever provides them some decent opponent value uh because of whom Everett's played. So, big game full
037English, but uh as I said, it's a big game for Everett, too, because they really need to to bounce back from that. I I I would say that effort last Friday night, but that would be misusing the word effort. You know, the they have to bounce back from that and and I have confidence that we are going to see a much better performance out of them today. >> You're right. It will be a huge statement game as they are in the presence of a lot of greatness. Not only that, we have the legendary head coach John Debazo on the field, but also former Division One college athletes who played under him who are also in attendance. some NFL families. Everett High School currently has five players and listed in the NFL right now. >> Amazing.
038You know, it's just really amazing cuz it's you know, it's not a huge community obviously and uh you know, uh a p for a public high school, you know, in an age where kids are taking off of prep schools and you know, whatever. Just that was one of the the main features of the coach DBaso era. ever. The Everett kids did not leave to go to greener pastures. They they stayed in Everett and he was obviously the number one reason for that. Uh the the school district uh itself uh was really run uh very well. You know, I know his name wasn't mentioned today, but I think it's remiss not to mention Fred Forest here, who in his tenure as superintendent, uh the schools really took off academically as well as athletically. Uh, one thing
039that was mentioned, uh, I know Josh is going to do it. Ne, we we want to pay tribute to, uh, Bippy Emanuel, David Bippy Emanuel, whom I actually replaced in this role, believe it or not, in the year 2001. Bippy did it with John Hoffman through 2000. And I came on board in 2001. Bippy was one of the best athletes to ever come out of Beverly. Certainly top five, maybe top three. And there are people in Beverly who would make an argument that he could be top one. Uh he was a just a tremendous athlete, great guy. Uh ended his coaching career here with coach DBaso, then transitioned into the broadcast booth and he passed away a few weeks ago. I just became aware of it because his daughter Carol is a fixture on the
040Ever sidelines. Uh just found out about it yesterday and I really want to just pay tribute to Bippy, David Bippy Emanuel. Rest in peace, one of the great ones. >> Thank you for your tribute, Paul. And here comes the Ever Crimson Tide onto the field. [Music] And today is also celebration of all the seniors revolved around the football program, the football players themselves, the marching band, and the cheerleaders. [Music] Good afternoon everyone and welcome to John Dibazo Jr. field right here at Everett Veterans Memorial Stadium for today's greater Boston League showdown between the English Bulldogs and your Everett Crimson Tie. >> Josh Delgazo ate his wings this morning. We know that. And now here are the captains for today's game >> for the Bulldogs of Lin English. Number seven, Shane Nolton Samard. [Applause] >> Captains
041reading number field for the >> Jason McDonald. [Applause] >> And number 53, >> Jason, we have Gideon Lal. And the captains for your Crimson Tide number five Gideon Lagal >> Feniti >> number 12 Kervin's Joseph >> and Netto number eight Sam Lome number 59 Eno Net's coach Dorto pacing the sidelines >> number 74 Nathan Fortune [Music] And number seven, Wyel Pheniti. >> Everett has won the toss and will receive. >> Everett wins the toss and wants the ball. Good. Put the offense right out there and give them a chance to see what they can do. And coach Robert Dler Loretta is also one of the two vice principles at Ever High School. The other being James Murphy and the principal John Braga. [Music] So the atmosphere is set for kickoff and we're going to go
042into the national anthem in just a few seconds. I'd like to ask if you could please rise for a moment of silence for a legend of a and former assistant coach for the Crimson Tide, Bippy Emanuel. Please remain standing for the singing of our national hymn and performance by the Crimson Tide marching band. Here's our Crimson Tide Choir. By the time the bright [Music] lights [Music] and Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] And we are set for some high school football today, October 25th. It is Saturday and once again my name is Animosmani and joining me is Paul Hollerin. Ever has elected to receive so they'll be starting off the game and the stadium is now packed as we always like to see on a beautiful
043homecoming day. Temperature sitting at 57 degrees with that nice breeze going eastward. Well, and back. One of the bright spots this year has been the return game. And of course, we saw Jeremiah Joseph return an unbelievable 65 yd return for a touchdown last week. He has five returns for 144 yards and a touchdown averaging 28 yards, 29 yards. So, this actually has been one of the bright spots for Everett. And we saw Havil try to keep it away from them. Uh, let's see with English. The ball is lying flat on the tea. That might be an indication. There's that onside kick that worked for Havil. It's a loose ball >> and the Crimson Tire recovers. They seemed ready, but that >> is recovered by the >> quite slippery. >> I mean, the games are on
044these games are on film, you know. And let English obviously saw Havil do that effectively. Ever got very lucky there. That ball squibbed away from they had one guy there squibbed away from him but fortunately fell on it and it almost went out of bounds but didn't. So a break but the Crimson Tide really need to clean that up. Here you go. Go ahead. The kicker for Lin English with Daf for but here's Tyler Freddy running the offense handing off to Steven Thomas for the very first play of the game. And that first play goes eight yardds. >> Yeah, Thomas took over the featured back role last week. You'll see a good run here. He has a good hole to go through. Good job by the line. Picks up nine. Be second and one. Tyler
045Freddy back at quarterback after Jeremiah Clark took all the snaps last week. [Applause] Tie it quick to the line of scrimmage and they're running play with a power run with Freddy up the middle picking up the first carrier. >> Ball sparted at the Lynn English 47 yd line >> tackled by a good start and it looks like Everett's going to be back to we're just going to line up and run it at you and see if you could stop us. You know, they've they've played some teams the last three or four weeks who certainly could stop it. They're going to make Lynn English prove they can. And here goes Freddy again in the shotgun. Here's Jamari Doulan in motion. And it will be a keep by Franny who finds a nice hole to the left
046side off the tackles and picks up a gain of nine yards. >> Tackled by Smith. >> Nine yd gain by >> freshman for Len English Keel Smith. >> Well, nine yards on first down for the second time. And that really gives you a lot of options. You see Tyler Freddy who really executes the fakes very well. Got into the secondary, picked up nine. >> Sam Lome leading the way for number 46 who breaks a tackle and finds a lane into the end zone. Can't be brought down and scores on the opening drive on homecoming day. >> Crimson time. >> Marcus Pierre finds the end zone. >> Marcus Pierre. >> That is Marcus's first touchdown. And good time for it. Really good run up the middle. Got broke free and then once he did it was
047clear sailing to the end zone. And Everett gets on the board in less than 2 minutes. And that is the type of start they were looking for. And for the extra point lining up by kicker is Wyatt Feniti. And holding the ball down is Tyler Franny. Kick is up and good. And the extra point is good by number seven. >> Crim taking an early lead in their opening possession with 70 L English zero. >> Only a couple minutes into the game. >> Hats off to coach D Lorettto. That's why they wanted the ball for us apparently. >> I I think he really wanted to put it on his offense. You know, after a performance that we talked about with 36 to give a very special thank you and acknowledge Joe Ronin Jr. one tackle he
048had a break and it really wasn't that much of a didn't really get hit that hard. He bounced right off the net around the stadium off to Joe into the secondary and he was gone. So great start for the Tide with only 1 minute and 46 seconds elapsed on this homecoming Saturday. Beautiful day for football here at John Deaso Field. Back deep to received for Lin English with a freshman pair. Mai Kirk and Keelin Smith. And it'll be Mai Kirk who will let the ball roll out of bounds. It going to be a penalty on Everett. >> Yeah, there's a mistake. That'll give Lin English really good field position. >> And the referee's going to discuss with the L English silence to see what they want the call to be. Let's hear word from our
049head. >> A free kick out of bounds kicking team. The ball will be paced at the 35 yd line. First down >> and there's a call. >> First and 10 L English from the 35 yd line. >> And quarterback for Lin English wearing number seven is senior Shane Nolton Samard. hands it off to his running back. Off tackle and met by Armani Negron and Tyler Freddy after a pickup of >> handoff goes to number five Xavier. >> Xavier Bamp with brought down by Tyler. Top four >> along with number 11 Armani Negron >> Freddy and gain second down tackle. And now Nolton Samard is going to be the lone person in the backfield for this shotgun snap. Scratch that. Number five goes back Xavier Bochamp. Senior backfield duo for Lean English. And here's a handoff
050to Bo Champ who does pick up a another few yards. >> Bo third and short for Lin English. It's going to be third and >> brought down by number seven while Feniti >> Wild Feniti on the tackle. >> So Everett's making him work for it. There's our first big third down play of the game. You'll see Feniti grabs him from behind and is not letting him go any further. So on the third short play, Lin English lines up in the spread, empty backfield, three receivers to the top. And now here's Boamp in motion from the slot. And it will be a keep by Nolton Samard. Can he fight for the first down? They're right at the sticks and it looks like he will pick up that first down. >> Yeah, he did a really good
051job there. He did get the first down >> and he really had to work for it. >> That's good for a Bulldog first down. >> So, it'll be first and 10 from the Lyn English 40 yd line. Tyler Frenage trying to prevent him from making any progress, but Nolton Samard already made it to the line of gain. Stood upright and fell forward for the first down. Nolton Samard in the shotgun once again. Bo Champamp to his right and it's going to be a handoff to Bo Champ right up the middle and brought down by Weniti. Yeah, English is working hard for every yard. just two that time. So, ever defense really doing a good job. >> And good look at the front four for the >> Crimson Tide defense. >> Weniti huge defensive playmaker for
052this Crimson Tide. And at defensive tackle number 66, sophomore EJ Wright on the far end, number 13 defensive end, Benson Charmont. Here's a pass up the middle and incomplete bringing up third and eight. >> Nolton Samard's pass is incomplete. >> Third down. >> That was one area last week. Obviously Everett really struggled. Haveril passing last week. 17 for 29 303 yards and four touchdowns. You do not see a lot of Jonathan Debbaso. That was a regular night for him. But you don't see a lot of high school teams passing for more than 300 these days. >> And of course, we're talking about the son of the head coach who holds the state records for career passing yards and touchdowns as Bo Champ takes it up five yards and bring up a fourth down >> by
053number five Gideon L. >> Yeah, that was an interesting call on third and eight there. Uh, I assume they're going for this because you're not going to run a straight straight dive on third down if you don't plan on going for it on fourth down. Fourth and five right at the 50. And they are lining up for it. Not Samard in the back field with Bo Champ. Two receivers evenly spl out route from the slot to number two Mai Kirk and gets chased out of bounds. pass is complete to number two Mai >> by Kerman Joseph. >> That's a passing situation in Neman Kirk. He was wide open on the sidelines, you know, he caught it just inside. You'll take a look throws it, but just look at the separation. Uh number two, Mai Kirk
054has first and 10 English at the ever 45, pardon me. [Applause] towards Delta Samard is going to take it straight up the middle following his lead blocker Bamp and picks up only two yards on that play. Second and eight. >> Nolton Samar the ball carrier. >> Yeah, Ever defense has been outstanding other than that one pass play. They've given them no more than four yards on any play from scrimmage, but that was the big one. On fourth and five, they picked up 15 to keep the drive alive. >> So, here's three receivers to one side of the formation. That's a near side. And Milton Samar is going to have a read option. Loses the ball and it might be recovered by Ever. And yes, it is. >> Yeah, that's a big play. I don't know
055if he just lost the handle. We got to take a look at this. He He faked. He was clearly keeping it and it almost looked like he shoveled it forward, but I assume he just lost the handle. >> And Yep. Not a clean mesh point there for that read option. He just completely lost. >> He just Yeah, just a fumble. Yeah, never. >> So 33 >> ball recovered by EJ Wright. Now the Tide is going to take over from their 30 yd line. Correction >> 33 Jamari Duelan in motion and this will be a handoff to the speedy dueling trying to look for the sideline. Get sealed off by Keen Smith and brought down for no gain on that play. >> Brought down by number one. Yeah, Dulan was kind of looking like he he
056wasn't going to be able to get around the corner there and he was running a little tentatively hoping some blocking was going to develop in front of him. Didn't really happen. He lost a yard. >> Second and 11 after a one-yd loss on the sweep. Now, Crimson Tide Lome in the slot and Jeremiah Joseph to the top, but it'll be a handoff to Marcus Pierre up the middle. and just picks up one yard or >> two yards brought down by number 55. >> So this is Everett's first third down opportunity. Uh on the first drive they converted a first down on second and one and then a touchdown on second and one. This is their first third down attempt and it's third and long. >> That's going to be pass play. Tyler looking to his
057left, finds Armani Negron wide open and picks up the first down. >> Negron taking the ball to the Lynn English 49 yd line. Well, that's a great job by Freddy. That's called taking what they give you. He had uh he had Negron out there all alone and didn't look to anyone else. Just got it in his hands and let him run with it. >> Armani Negron on a threeyd varsity starter for the Crimson Tide. Here's Tyler Franny lining up his two backs. Hands it off to Marcus Pierre and gets met at the line of scrimmage. >> The ball carrier >> and then picks up two yards. [Applause] >> Two yard game in the play. Second down. >> So it'll be second and eight. Crimson Tide breaks the huddle really close to the line of scrimmage.
058>> It's going to be a sweep read keep by Tyler Freddy for another tough two yd gain. It will bring up another third down for this Crimson Tide offense. >> Third and five. >> Or is it six? Third and six. >> Third down and six. Looks like a tight formation with three people in the back field. It's going to be handoff to Jamari Doulan trying to break to the outside. Makes a move up field but only makes it back to the line of >> scrimmage be fourth and sixth. >> Yeah, Dan. Yeah, looks like they're going to kick this. >> Dulan running east west there and did did once he did try to break it up field. It just there wasn't much there and he got stopped for no gain. >> So interesting in plus
059territory. They are going to punt and try to make let English drive the field. Probably not a bad idea. And it will be Jamari Dulan who will be punting it. Good looking ball and Lenning is going to let it hit the ground. Takes a nice roll for Everett up to the near the 5 yd line. That makes it a great decision. >> Dulan's punt is down. >> Dulan's punting has gotten better every week and that was a really good one. They got a good roll to boot. Ends up with a 40-yard punt. But more importantly, Lin English will have to start from their own five. And you know some people say well why do you you know you don't go for it on fourth and six from the 45. Well you know if you don't
060make it there English is starting basically at midfield. Now they got to drive 95 yds. So good decision there by coach Dorettto and the staff. Ball right there between the five and six yardd line at the far hash mark. And Lin English is going to be lining up with three receivers to one side, one lone receivers to the top of the formation. It'll be a handoff to Bant who gets met immediately at the line of scrimmage. So it'll be second and 10. >> Champ the ball carrier in on the stop number seven while Feniti along with number 66 EJ Wright. >> So there's a wrap up from behind by Wild Feniti. and then had support from the rest of that defensive lineman up top. >> Not much doing on the ground. L English seven rushes
061for only 17 yards thus far. squeeze it up. >> So once again in the shotgun. >> Here's Nolton Samard looking to pass. Gets pressured the grunt and brought down from behind by Wild Feniti 11 >> or correction Armani Negron. You called it Paul. And here's a look at the replay. >> It's going to be a play action. And Negron was right there to wrap him up. Smart had no time to survey any options or even go through the throwing motion. >> That's exactly right, Anem that the defensive line made that play. They put him under so much pressure he decided right away he had to take off and when he did that GR was there. So now this is a big spot here to try to force him into fourth long from their own end
062zone and they will have to punt from their end zone. >> And play made by Sam Lome. Tim Lome on the tackle >> and Lyn English is lining up to punt it from their end zone. >> Well, here's an opportunity for Ever English. The punter typically, you know, the punters are about 15 yds back. He's he's not quite he would be in the middle of the end zone. He's standing just just into the end zone. So, kind of a shallow drop, but I would say Everett is surely thinking return here. Jamari Doulan. The sole returner for this punt is going to be freshman Keelin Smiths who will be punting it to Jamari Doulan. And he's going to let it go out of bounds at the Lin English sidelines. Everett will take over at the Lint
063English >> three yd line. Well, and and there you go. You know, the field position battle is an underrated aspect of football. And Everett opts to punt from the English 45. They pin English at the five. They end up with a short punt and now they are taking over at the 33 yd line. Excellent field position as we are in the last minute of a fastm moving first quarter. >> Now Tyler Freddy getting back out there for his third appearance of the game. >> He didn't play quarterback last week, but he was lined up solely on defense. But here he is >> with the designed quarterback run. >> I think he fumbled, >> but he did recover it. >> Got it back. >> Retains possession. [Applause] [Music] >> Just one yard for Freddy there. >>
064There it is. Good heads up play by Tyler Franny. Quickly recovering. >> He got it. He got it back himself, right? Really? >> Yep. Ball knocked loose by Aiden Sodto, sophomore number 62 for L English. >> Here's Jamar Julian in motion. It's going to be a play action. Tyler Freddy steps up into the pocket, sees a lane, and we try to take it himself and then picks up a gain >> of one, two, three, four, five yards. >> Third and five from the 28. Freddy did a good job there avoiding pressure. looked like he might have a little more room to run than the way it turned out. He only picked up four. You see, he sidesteps the pressure. Now he's going to tuck it and run. But there is a good one-on-one tackle there
065by number eight Ryan of Lyn English. And there was end of the first quarter. >> And now we're going to switch sides of the field here as >> that was the last play of the first quarter. >> Say hi to Nick Olsson and the crew over at the concession stand. do a great job. >> And if anyone wants to go to the concession stand, Josh, and bring Popcorn up to the booth, you you might want to you might want to that that could easily be part of the announcement, Josh. >> Make that, too. >> Shamelessly plugging for Popcorn. If you're in the stadium and watching the stream live, feel free to bring up a PC and a Diet Coke. We'll reimburse you fancily. There'll be a secret knock that you have to do so we
066can let you in. >> No, I'll smell it in name. Don't worry. >> We mentioned there are currently five players in the NFL from Everett. Those five are Mike Samle who is with the Washington Commanders, class of 2018. Zay likely on the Baltimore Ravens, class of 2017. Lewis Se, he played three years at Ever High School before having to move to Texas his senior year, but he's on the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a class of 2017. Jason Matri with the Miami Dolphins class of 2018. And I'll get back to the rest of the list after we get this first play to the second quarter off. It'll be a run by Tyler Freddy and it'll bring up fourth and one. Really short fourth and a few feet. And last on the list of NFL players from
067Everra High School, Josiah Stewart on the LA Rams class of 2018. Phenomenal to think that they all played on the same high school team. Honorable mention goes to Lucas Dennis who played one year with the Atlanta Falcons last year. So on this fourth down is going to be a handoff to Steven Thomas who will pick up the first down. >> Nice job by Thomas. Did a little shuffle step there to get a few more yards. only needed one. That was not in question. He picked up three. >> Good job to keep this drive alive. You know, when you take over at the 33, you really want to take advantage and make sure you capitalize with points. So, looks like we're going to have a timeout on the field here. And going back to NFL factory
068powerhouses for public schools, Everett leads the state in sending the most players to the NFL with over 26 players who graduated from Ever High School and moved on to the NFL. Well, likely went to Coastal Carolina and I believe Josiah Stewart did as well, but then transferred to Michigan. Of course, Mike Samill is the real story of that group. uh finished his career here and had a phenomenal five-year career at Michigan. Had a tremendous game in a win over Ohio State. And uh you know, Mike's not the biggest guy, but he no one has a bigger heart. And it's great to see him succeeding with the Commanders. And he is honored at the by the fence of Route 16. I don't think it's not a retired jersey number. It's more of a hall of fame
069kind of display that they've set up a couple years ago here at the stadium along with is likely during it happened during one of their summer camps that they host here in the city over the summer. Here's Tyler Franny up the middle. Good hole and picks up a huge chunk on that play. >> Picks up nine yards. >> They have a little more than nine. We see limping there. one of the linemen, which is not a good sign. That is Gayano Foster. But here's Freddy. And again, good job by the offensive line. And there was Foster doing some blocking all the way to the end of the play. So, second and short. Second and one from the 12. And it's going to be Tyler Fernie designed quarterback run to his left and met by that
070Lynn English defense. Tyler Franny picks up just enough for the first down and it'll be first and goal from the 10 yd line. >> That's good for a Crimson Tide first down. >> Yeah, now Gatano Foster is going to have to limp off. He has been limping for a couple of plays. >> Freddy with another hard run and subbing in is going to be EJ Wright. That's okay though. That's fine. >> So, the Crimson Tide offense breaks huddle. >> This first and 10 from the 10 yardd line is going to be a handoff to Steven Thomas. Run to his own man and then continues to fight for extra yards. Brings it up to the oneyd line. >> Great job. As you said, >> there was some friendly fire there. A name right off the bat.
071But Thomas, >> correction, that was Pierre and goal. >> Pierre was undaunted by that. You can see you had a good look at those uh banners. Uh Lucas Dennis, Collins Patel, Isaiah likely, Jason Maitri, of course, went to Boston College. There's Pierre Bing. Now looking at it on replay, he might have bounced off a white shirt. I thought it was off as one of his own guys. Leen, Mike S. still. You see them all up there. Second and goal. Touchdown. It'll be Totter Freddy himself quarterback run >> and taking a twocore lead here in this first half. [Music] >> Well, as we said, Anem, it was virtually guaranteed to be a much better effort today. And hats off to the Crimson Tide for coming out and imposing their will on the English. They've done this
072almost entirely on the ground. One pass for 17 yards. Good job by the line. Good job by the backs getting through the holes and Everett has a two touchdown lead over the Bulldogs and Armani Negron is going to come off limping off the field. We hope that he's all right. >> Armani Negron huge asset to this Crimson Tide squad. He plays both ways. three-year starter on varsity and also played pop order here in Everett. >> So here's Everett lining up for the extra point attempt. Wild Feniti with the kick and it's going to bounce off the post. >> Extra point is no good. So the score remains at 130 effort 13 then English zero. >> So here's a replay of that Tyler friendy touchdown from just a couple of feet away. >> As easy as
073it can be for the tide. >> Yes. Yes. Very good to see. Very good to see. >> Good look at the crowd here and the cheerleaders. No one's answered that Pupcon plea yet, but I'm I'm not giving up hope. I'm going to be like Lionus waiting for the great pumpkin on Halloween. It would be preferred if if you're up for a challenge for whoever's watching this to give us popcorn. Try to do it before halftime. I dare you. >> Here's Weniti to Mai Kirk. >> Uhoh. makes an elusive move. Vile Feniti last line of defense, but here's Kurt Joseph chasing him down from behind. [Applause] >> That was a tremendous job by Mai Kirk. Broke a tackle. Looked like he was gone. And hats off to >> Kervin Joseph for not giving up on the
074play. But that was a really, really effective return. Started took kicked at his own 20. You see good started step there. fakes out the kicker. Feniti >> brought down from behind by Kervin Joseph English with good field position though to the 37. >> 43 yds on the kick. >> Two receivers spread out wide. >> There's no Samard with the keep going up the middle. Picks up a couple yards and then finally brought down by the Crimson Tide defense. On the stop is Gideon Legal and Jeremiah Joseph. This is Gideon Lal's first game back from an ACL injury he suffered from last year. >> Gideon Lal in on the stop along with Jeremiah Joseph. >> So great to see him back in action. >> Two yard gain on the play. Second down. Gideon Lagal also started
075or was on the varsity team his sophomore year before suffering that ACL injury his junior year. >> So better time no better time to come back than on homecoming. Here's a quick bubble screen pass to one of the freshman who breaks free has a speed actually didn't get there. Great hustle. >> It was speed on speed tackle made by G uh Jamari Doulian. Well that's a big play by Dulan. You still got to get in. I mean, they're in the one, but great job not giving up on the play by Dulan. >> They might spot it closer. No, he's at the one. 34 yds. Just take this is all yak yards after catch. And I think Kirk thought he was had clear sailing and Dulan came up with the pylon as a consolation prize. Looks
076like uh ball came loose during that tackle and went out of bounds. Well, so here's Nolton Smart from two yards out. Sends a running back out wide and takes it himself untouched for the Bulldogs first score of the game. >> Shane, >> making the game 136. Now, that was really needed for English uh a name because you know, you're down two scores. The next score is really going to tell a lot about where we're going, right? ever gets it. Three three scores even in the first half is very difficult to come back from. Now that it's a it's a one-sore game with uh a lot of football left. 31 minutes plus and Nolan Samar comes back into the field. It looks like they might be lining up for a two-point conversion here. And yes, they
077are. Bamp in the back field flanking Nolton Samart. He's going to receive the handoff. tries to fight his way into the end zone. Stays upright. Really tough to bring down. >> Pile hits the floor. No good. No, though. >> And the conversion attempt is no good. >> Good stand by the Crimson Tide defense. >> Remaining in the second quarter. Ever 13 L English six. [Applause] And was that >> Kamari Wam on the stop [Applause] >> credit goes to anyone there. Bocham trying to work his way above a pile and finally brought down. There's a look of Rob Daredto and also Joseph Lam Monica an assistant coach on the coaching staff. He also played under coach Dibs when he was in high school and he's currently a school committee member at large. very active individual and
078>> really close friend. >> So Everett will try to answer that score. >> So second kickoff attempt by Lynn English and it's going to be a squib up the middle fielded by Dulan but >> I think his knee was on the ground when he fielded the ball. Yeah, that's exactly it. >> So, the Russ are going to spot it at the 31 yd line. >> High school football, once you're down, you're down. And I believe his knee was touching when he fielded the ball. >> I don't know about that. Can we run that again? That was Thomas. Let's take a look. When he possesses the ball, here we go. Ready? >> Absolutely not on the ground. See that? I see that. His knee did not touch the ground. Tough to see live though in fairness.
079So here's Dulan on the sweep. Lynn English cutting off the sideline and getting there quickly preventing any sort of gain. It'll be a tackle for loss. Second and 12. I got to tell you, we're not seeing the same Duelan that we saw early in the season. And he's running tentatively and he's running I mean I I know you run where the play is called and if there sweeps you east to west by definition but he is really not close to getting to the edge. It's going to be him in motion again but Tyler Freddy draws back in the pocket to look for a pass. Has Armani Negron ball caught on the far side of the field has plenty of room. tries to make a move and steps out of bounds at the Lin English 38
080yd line. >> That is all Tyler Freddy right there. Adem did a good job getting away from pressure. Had some room to run, but you know what? And he has been kind of a run first quarterback. You'll take a look at here. He's still looking downfield. He is not committed to the run. He sees a wideopen receiver. Another good decision down to the 38 yd line. gain of 34. And this time it'll be Freddy on the ground who finds a lane to the outside and finally cut down at the 20 yd line. That's going to be another first down for the Crimson Tide. >> Crimson. >> And this is not looking good for Lynn English as they have a player down. That's number one freshman Kalin Smith. [Applause] But here's a look at that replay.
081Oh, he got Smith got went down funny. He got blocked hard but down funny but 14 yds backto back first downs >> and we're going to take a quick referee timeout as the athletic trainers are going to check up on Keen Smith. Both these freshman for English, number one Keelin Smith and number two Mai Kirk have made an impact in this game and the uh as I said both freshman future bright for coach Tyler McDonald who's done a good job on English. And so Keelin Smith does get up and he's going to walk off to the sideline in his own power. So >> good to see that in a sense. And the play will resume with Ever having the first and 10 at the 20 yd line with 717 left in this first half. The
082clouds begin to clear up as it comes in time. >> Say it was kind of like a little overcast. Uh not, >> you know, not totally cloudy, but bright sunshine now. >> Designed quarterback run for Freddy as he was the only one in the backfield. Picks up a couple of feet on that play. >> That's about it though, right? >> And we'll still call it second and nine. >> Second down. in the red zone as Crimson Tide on the second down play is going to be a handoff to Marcus Pierre I believe. He gets to the 14 >> and that is Marcus Pier wearing number 46. Steven Thomas the other bag running back rares number 26. >> Yeah, Pierre's done a good job today. You see not much room there to get through, but he
083does work his way through the hole. You see a little extra curricula there. No harm done. And it's going to be a penalty on the play. Let's see who the refs are going to call it on. >> I think it's ever >> false start. >> Looked like there were players moving but the ball had not been snapped yet. So not third and four to third and nine is uh appreciably different. Although they are in four down territory >> and they're going into the sun. So, a lot of glare going into their direction. >> Six minutes to go in the first half >> here at John Debaso Jr. Field. >> Tyler Freddy to Steven Thomas. [Applause] >> Picks up Thomas. >> I think he's going to be about a yard short. >> Picks up seven yards
084on the play. Will make it fourth and one. [Music] Fourth down and one for the Crimson Tie >> ball at the 11 yd line. >> There's a replay as it looks like there's a try option run. >> Well, you got to think this is Freddy, right? >> It's going to be Steven Thomas >> who did have a hole stays up. Shakes off a tackler and they're finally brought down by a horde of Bulldogs right after. >> Good job of hard inside running by Thomas there to pick up the first down. They're going to get down to the four. He needed one. He got seven. >> Good blocking by the offensive line. Here's a hand off to Steven Thomas. >> Shakes off one tackler, two, and then drives his legs for an extra few yardd gain.
085>> Now Freddy flanked by Steven Thomas is going to be a lead blocker. top. Freddy, I think he get in. Gets in for the touchdown. That's his second rushing touchdown of the game. >> Tyler Freddy >> 26 here in the second quarter. Correction 196. Check my math on that one, please. Thank you and apologize. They're going to line up for the extra point attempt to see if it could go out 20 to six. I would think they might be going for two here, right? >> Yeah, they're going to go for two here to try to get to back on the seven points per score average. Here we go. >> So in the back field, Steven Thomas and Sam Lome flanking both sides of Tyler Freddy. There's going to be a hand off to Steven Thomas.
086It's going to be a reverse to Jeremiah Joseph who has an empty lane into the end zone for the two-point conversion. >> Excellent call there. Well executed and it's going to be 216 with Everett leading five minutes left. >> Very good execution. So that was a good drive by the Tide. Lit English cuts it to one score at 13-6 and Everick goes 69 yds in eight plays. The big play was a 34 yd pass from Tyler Freny to Armani Negrron. Otherwise, they ground it out on the on the they ground it out on the ground. Uh Freddy with one, two, three rushes for 19 yards and a touchdown. And Steven Thomas had two rushes for 15 yds on the drive and Pierre had one for five. [Music] >> It's going to be a re kick
087for Everett. Back to receive for the Bulldogs are Xavier Bochamp and Mikai Kirk. >> So, Wild Finiti going to line up again as we have 4 minutes and 57 seconds left in the second quarter. kicks it short to the midback. Number 18 feels it. That is Casius Chay and gets brought down at the 44 yd line. >> Kickoff return by number 18 Cashes Jay. Another freshman for the Bulldogs. >> Yeah, they have some young kids here and they've done some winning. They're four and two going into this game. >> On the play by number 12, Kervin Joseph. [Applause] >> So, here's Shane Samar lining up once again in the shotgun. Three receivers to the top. Xavier Bochamp to his left. And it's going to be a run play. Hand off to Xavier Bochamp who finds
088a huge hole. Tries to make a move on Xavier Devari Doulin. Then finally brought down from behind by number is that 28? Yes, it is. >> Wow. >> Abraham Pierre who makes a tackle from behind. >> Number 28 Abraham Pierre. >> Huge hole for Xavier Bojam. Yeah, you'll see this run and you are right. Bo Shamp easily gets to the secondary, makes a good little move there that bought him about eight more yards and good pursuit on the play as you said anem by Abraham Pierre also a freshman but first and 10 at the 22 is going to take this one also has a hole for himself to run through tries to make a move against Jamari Doulan he fumbled and he makes a tackle picked up by Jamari Doulan after that tackle >> here's
089the call I think he was down they're going to talk about this no wasn't he was not That was close. That's going to be two fumbles for Nolton Samard, senior captain for the Bulldog, Jamari Dulan. Wow, that's a big big mistake. This is a good run by Nolton Samard, but does not secure the ball. Watch the end of this play and see if he was down. He's hit. >> Nope. Good call. The ball was on its way out just before he hit the ground. Good strip by Dulan on that tackle >> and what could have been a huge gain for the Bulldogs. >> Oh, puts him puts him right right on the uh edge of the end zone seven yd line. So that's a big mistake. >> Here's Doulan on the sweep going east to
090west again and cut off for a loss on the play once again. >> Good pursuit by the Bulldog defense. brought down by >> Yeah, that's a loss of three. >> I don't think we've seen a positive gain on that call >> and any of the sweep plays that we've seen up to this point. >> So, the ball gets placed at the 5 yd line now. >> Or is it four four yd line? Marcus Pier in the backfield who will receive this handoff. >> Good good hole for Marcus Pier to run through. >> Picks up positive yards on that play. >> Well, this is a big play named third and six at the 11. You really don't want to have to kick it out of your end zone. There's still three minutes to go. English has
091all their timeouts. Shane Nolton Samard also playing defensive back for the Bulldogs and he's the one who makes that play on Marcus Pierre. >> Sure. Absolutely. >> Marcus Pierre looking like the tallest player on that defense where here's Tyler Freddy can't pick up the first down on that player. >> So will be a punting situation for the Crimson Tide. >> Yeah, they're going to have to kick it out >> at this time. with our effort NFL players being >> we got to the 15 >> fourth and two over >> now Lyn English English should be calling timeout here. Yes, they took them a little time but with Everett lined up to punt and Lyn English having all their timeouts that needed to be an immediate timeout. So it's going to be fourth and two. The
092timeout was taken at 213. So worst case scenario here, uh, barring a turnover, English is going to have very good field position. >> And we can anticipate that they'll be running the twominute drill here in this first half. >> And at halftime will be the honoring of current NFL players from Ever High School along with their families. >> And another beautiful shot of the stands as it still continues to fill up. It always was a lab, but then you know with the evolution like the NFL to go to the headsets once they do it to try to do what they do. >> So coming out of the timeout here, here's Tyler Freddy in the back field. >> Oh, they're going to go for a fourth and two from their own >> rolling the dice in
093the shadow of Encore. >> Flag throwing on the play. Well, that's going to eliminate that. >> I I'm not so sure about that. Anyway, you're up two scores, you know, make them drive at least part of the field. You you pretty much if you don't make that, you're giving them the ball just about the 15 yd line. Even a 30 yard punt makes them drive 45 yds. So, that penalty might be a blessing in disguise. And now they are lining up in the punt formation. Shane Nolton Samard back deep to receive this punt from Jamari Doulan. And long snapping is Armani Negron. >> Now let it bounce. There you go. Yeah, that's all. >> And now all of a sudden they're at their own 42 instead of the ever 15. Dulan's punt is down. >>
094So that takes off 8 seconds off the clock >> at the 43 yd line. >> We're at the 1 minute 59 second mark. Boy, let's talk about Duelan. Dulan has two punts today. 40 and 47. Very good. [Music] >> So we are in a two-minute drill. Anem English has 159 to play with here. Really important for them. It would be important for them to get a score on the board down by two scores. >> Here's our lineup with two receivers spread out wide on either side of the formation. Nolton Samar is looking to his right for a quick out looking for his freshman Mai Kirk. Ball to high and the pass will be incomplete. >> It'll bring up second and 10. [Music] So, senior captain >> Shane Nolton Samard looking to drive his offense down
095the field and put on one extra score before this first half lining up right here. Same formation as before. Xavier Bochamp to his left is going to be a quarterback. Keep makes a move to evade while Feniti dances around in the back field to get back to the line of scrimmage. what could have been a loss on the play. >> Yeah, I'll tell you that that defined making something out of nothing. I mean, you're right. That was a big loss and he actually ended up gaining a yard. He had to run about 19 yards to gain the yard, but oo stops on a dime against Wild Feniti. Makes a move on. Oo, he is shifty, isn't he? >> Great footwork by Nolton Samard. I think that he was evading Benson Charmont there. >> Third down
096and nine. died for the 44. One key thing though is he went out of bounds. English has only used 15 seconds on this drive. So if ever could stop them, they will have some time. >> Pocket breaks down for Shane. He finds a hole and picks up the first down after running it through the middle and gets spotted at the Everett 42 yd line. >> And Lyn English still has a timeout when they they're going to snap it at 137. hands it off to Xavier Bochamp. Picks up a few yards on the plane, then brought down by Sam Lome. Correction. >> Yes, it is Sam Lome and Tyler Freddy on that stop. >> Sam on the stop. Second down. >> So, English trying to preserve that timeout. A lot of time left though at 114.
097And the running hurry up is going to be Shane Nolton Samard on the keep to pick up another tough couple of yards there. Big gain of two yards on that run. It'll bring up thirdton >> and five. >> There is a flag at the end of the play. >> Flag thrown at the end of the play. [Music] >> It's going to go against Lynn English. >> That's a big penalty. Boy, they were looking at third and four. Are they going to be looking at third and 19 now? >> Dead ball. Personal foul. >> Unsportsmanlike. Boy, I'll tell you, >> there's only one word the English coach needs after that. Sub. >> That is a ridiculously bad penalty for Len English. Balls bottled all the way back at their own 49 yd line. Third and 19.
098>> From third and four at the ever 36 to third and 19 at your own 49. You cannot win with penalties like that. There's a shot of Johnny Go trying to hype up his defense to make a stand here. Johnny goes, another bright spot on this Crimson Tide defense. Tyler McDonald is asking the officials to >> discuss something. >> It's third down. >> Third down. Yeah, that was right. >> Going on my signal. >> Yeah, that that's a good catch by the English coach cuz it was only going to be third down anyway. You don't And it was after the play. So, they just they caught that. Third and 19. Samar looking to the middle finds an open receiver >> who pick who gets close to the first down marker that's number nine on the
099reception >> Gregory Ray >> second and one [Applause] crash fourth and one >> and they run up quickly to the line of scrimmage is going to be Shane not to Samar who takes itself self evades the tacklers, works the sideline, uses his speed to get into the end zone, and that'll be a touchdown for Lynn English. >> Boy, what a turnaround on this drive. Huh. >> He is a big He is a big strong runner and with some moves. Milton Samard. Boy, what a big play for English there to not go in down by two. L Samar, one of the tallest players on the Lin English roster. Great speed, good build, and really good footwork. We'll see some of it here on this replay as we have a timeout by Lynn English. Time out taken
100on the far side of the field. Here it is. >> Sticks his foot in the ground, not once, but twice. >> Yeah. evades the speedy Jamari Douland >> and takes it all the way in. Yeah, English takes a timeout. They want to make sure they dial up the right play here because this is a big uh you know this this is the play that makes it a one-sore game. Ever has the chance to stop them and keep it at a two-score game. So, this is a big conversion and we have 24 seconds left in this first half. And going back to homecoming, let's talk about the job the city has done as they planned some road closures, set up some beautiful decorations. It's a huge jumbotron on the north side of the field that shows
101some of the game action. Great decorations on the park where they hosted the alumni who played for coach John Deazo. They got balloons everywhere, nice banners, posters, artwork throughout the city. Well, let's see what English comes up with here. Bamp in the back field. >> It's going to be tossed to Bo Champ. >> Well, I'll tell you what, >> immediately by Wild Feniti. We had a timeout to come up with that. >> Wow. >> Off and Samone. I mean, you know, they don't really need the timeout because there's only 20 seconds left, but I hope they didn't spend the entire time during the timeout coming up with that play. >> There's just nothing there on that toss play. >> No way. >> A toss play in shotgun formation from the goal line. >> So, Ever
102keeps it a two-score game, which is not insignificant. Uh it doesn't appear like I mean what English will do here is I would think ensure that ever does not have a chance for a meaningful return cuz that's really the only thing that can bite them here. And kicking off English once again is Dio Gour senior wearing number 45 as the clock stays at 24 seconds. Ball is laying flat. So it is a squib kick to >> number 29 who's trying to get outside. Tries to cut it off field but cut down from underneath. That's Chance Berettto on the return. >> Baron by Xavier Bochamp. >> 18 yds by Berettto. So he puts it in English territory. It's at the 48. 17 seconds, potentially three plays. Um, Everett does have two timeouts, I believe. So, I
103would think you just try to throw this ball downfield two or three times and see what you come up with. You can stop the clock. And Freddy does drop back in the pocket, but brought down for a sack by number 50 of Lynn English. >> Doesn't have a spot on the program that we're given. So, he might be re might be remain as unnamed. >> Ever's going to take their first timeout here in this first half. >> Oh, did the referee say third? I thought he said first, but I think I thought they had two left. >> I might have misheard. >> But we have 9 seconds left in this first half. [Music] Get a shot of the marching band. Marching band has nine seniors currently enrolled. They've been honored in the pregame. Those nine
104seniors. I'm probably not going to try to attempt to pronounce any of these names, but there are nine seniors on the marching band squad. So, Everett with nine seconds left now. They're down at two plays max. I I just think you got to throw this ball as far as you can throw it and hope something good happens. >> Here's Jeremiah Clark taking over at quarterback here. He drops back in the pocket, feels a pocket, launches it to the middle looking for Jeremiah Joseph, but intercepted by number 18. >> Intercepted by number 18, Cashes >> Cashes Chay. All right, so that'll do that, I think. Oh, we haven't ever play a hurt, which is not good. [Applause] >> The clock says two seconds, so English will have to snap it once. >> So, we got an
105Everett injury. English will take over the ball at their own 24 yd line. Once we get to half >> they will have to snap it once. >> NFL >> and then uh that'll be it for uh >> for this first half. Jeremiah Joseph also coming up coming out of the field limping >> and the downed player now walks up and jogs off the field. >> That was number 28 Abraham Pierre freshman. >> That sounds great. Okay, thanks Jerry. So with two seconds left, we'll see if Ling English tries to make a Hail Mary or does a throwaway play to run out the clock in a pistol look and it'll be a knee by Shane Nolton Samard the And we're going to go into halftime with Ever leading 2112 here on homecoming day. >> Lyn English
10612. >> Well, lot of football left. 33 points on the board and you get the feeling we haven't seen the end of it. >> Very special. >> So Paul, you and I will take a break. It's halftime. We don't have our popcorn just yet. So no one rose up to the challenge, but we will be back on for the second half of the game. And for this halftime, we're going to see an honoring of NFL players and their families. So, signing off is I'm John Paul Hollin. Stay tuned. >> So, gosh, the band thing. >> Oh, sorry. Sorry. >> No, no. I'm sorry. and making their way onto the field, having played on Sundays before you. True NFL royalty right here, city of Everett, proud members of the Crimson Tide, celebrating with their families. These
107are the names that came before us, making Everett the pinnacle of Massachusetts football and greatness. Ray Trobridge, >> Fred Swetland, >> George Brickley, >> Pike Johnson, Al Pott, Art Dorfman, Johnny Delosola, [Music] Rudy Ramboli, Mario Janelli, Ralph Pascarello, [Applause] Rick Sapienza, >> Bob Marx, >> Bobby Leo, Pat Hughes, >> Dan Ross, [Applause] Omar Easy, Diamond Ferry, Rodman Noel, Jim Noel, Lucas Dennis, Carllins Platel, >> Jason Matri, Lewis Seen, Isaiah Likely, Mikey Sain, and Josiah Stewart. Let's hear it for the great before you and all of the newly minted banners that you see lining the stadium fence commemorating our legends here before you. Do you want to? Make sure you super She has a good Again, push close to the wall. Push close to the wall. That's under it. >> Let's hear it one more time
108for these Everett legends and their families. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Yeah. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Yeah. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Yeah. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Yeah. [Music] And we are back here at John Deer Jr. field at Ever Veteran Memorial Stadium for second half action of the Ever Crimson Tide versus the Lynn English Bulldogs. Everett has a 21-112 lead. And while Feniti is going to kick it off to start things in the second half and it'll be fieldled by freshman Mai Kirk goes up the middle. Nothing there and brought down at the 30 yd line. My name is Anosmani and joining me is Paul Hollerin. >> Well, the name of a high-scoring first half 21 to 12. Uh much different look at the stat sheet from Everett this
109week. 28 rushes, 143 yards, three touchdowns. Passing, they were two for three for 51 yards. They had 194 yards of offense. Len English had 19 rushes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. They were three for five passing for 67 yards. They had 190 yards of total offense. So fairly even though Everett has a two-score lead 21-12 Mai in motion, but the handoff goes to Xavier Bochamp. Tries to break free, but brought down by the unescapable grip of Wy Feniti. >> Supported by Tyler Ernie on that play. >> Brought down by number nine Tyler >> along with number seven. And there it is. The grip of Wild Finiti just holding up. He was >> letting go, was he? >> So, second and seven. Mai Kirk in motion again. It's going to be another. It's going to
110be keep runs into his man, knocks him down to the ground and then picks up the first down. That's Shane Nolton Samard with a nice rush for a first down. Shane Samard the biggest playmaker for this Linton English squad. Good fake on the handle. Fake me out, but Jeremiah Joseph not Samar outruns him. tries to pick up a block from number nine Trevan Bingham. Just knocks him to the ground and gets past him for an extra couple of yards. Good play by Shane Anolen Samard, senior captain for the Bulldogs. >> So, first and 10 from their own 45 yd line. >> Bo, that time he got away from the uh tug on the shirt on him. But he does pick up a first down taking the ball into Everett territory. They're lining up at the
111Everett 39 yd line. >> Yeah, English getting chunks of yardage all of a sudden 12 followed by 16. High snap fielded by Milton Samard who we should mention he was a wide receiver last year. He's done a great job transitioning to quarterback for the Bulldogs. And that's a good run by Bocher. >> Tackle made by Armani Negron. >> EJ Wright with the grip couldn't bring him down. Three receivers to the top. It's going to be a handoff to Bo Champ. Guess a good block by the receivers. >> And guess a good chunk of yards to make it second and a seven. [Music] >> Correction. Second and three. It was a sevenyd game. [Music] I've recalled the timeout there. >> Not sure what was going on, but first time out just taking three minutes into the
112second half. ever. >> So, Lenning Lynch comes right out of the locker room running the football. Uh 12 yards by the quarterback on second and seven for a first down and then Bo Champamp who's been the workhorse. He picks up 16 on first down and they are at the ever 32. Lyn English does have great explosive firepower on the offense. In their last four games in which they've won, they've averaged about 43.7 points per game. Last game was against Medford last week. They won that 32-12 game played at Manning Field. And they have one game on the season where they exceeded 50 points. That was against Peabody where they won 5432 on September 26th. Come on guys. Come on guys. >> So that's a good stretch of offense for the Lynn English Bulldog. They're still
113trailing here in the second half against Everett. >> Putting 12 points on the board. And now they come out of this huddle with an empty backfield. Bone champ in motion is going to be keep by Nolton Samard who finds an open lane just straight ahead for another score. >> Touchdown >> for Nolton Samard. There is a flag on the play. >> There is a flag. >> Oh, a back breaker for the Bulldogs. >> Penalty called on the Bulldogs. >> That's going to negate a big touchdown run by Nolton Samard. [Applause] >> So 10 yards from [Applause] the spot. >> Here's a look at Molton Samard goes untouched into the end zone, but that holding call did happen. >> So, they're going to give him a run to the 24. So, they're going to give him
114an 8 yd run, a 10yd penalty. It's going to be after all that second and f uh >> Second and five. Yep. >> Empty backfield again from L to Samard. takes a snap, drops back in the pocket, looking to pass, has no options, takes it himself, tries to make a move, does and another easy run into the end zone. That's two straight times where Samard >> waltes his way into the end zone. This time the score will count >> and it'll be 1921. Wow. >> Well, we don't have to show the replay cuz he just did the replay live. Holy Toledo. As I said, the speed on the and the footwork on this senior >> quarterback is very impressive. >> So, it should be 18. Just take down subtract the number. Subtract one. >> No,
115that was my mistake. I was thinking of the yardage. I thought that's what you referring to. They went for two rushes from home and they got stuck. >> So, correction on that score line. It's going to be 1821. Lynn English going to line up for a two-point conversion here. Their last two-point conversion was um not good, but this going to be a straight handoff to Bo Champ gets met in the back field by number 55. >> Conversion attempt is no good. >> Omaran Ayala >> with 921 remaining in the third quarter. Ever 21. So the score will remain 2118. Here's a replay of that touchdown run run. Lamar does survey his options. Quickly pulls it down. Makes a move on Tyler Freddy. Foot on the ground. No loss of acceleration and just runs into the
116end zone untouched. So Lenny English answers the bell big time. They go 70 yardds in six plays. And Samard after having a 32 yd touchdown run negated. He proceeded to have a 34 yd touchdown run. So he picked up a net two on his touchdown rushing. Ball flat on the tea. So we're expecting a scrib kick here by Diablo Gaffford. It's going to be squib up the middle picked up by Chance Berettto. Keeps his balance now trying to reverse field. Custard upfield loses the ball. >> Oh boy. >> And recovered by Lynn English recovered by >> boy. Berto just fighting for every yard and unfortunately lost the handle. And Lynn English is back in business. >> Coming out firing after the halftime break. The other chance escapes the hit by number 10 of Lynn English
117tries to reverse field. Sees nothing there. And then it was the original man who missed that makes the stripped fumble. Sultan Bal. [Music] It's a good recovery by Sultan. No Bali. Ended up making the play after all that. Back on the field running the offense is Shane Nolan Samard. [Applause] Playing from behind. Has a keep. They wrapped him up that time. But you can't blame English coach Tyler McDonald for dialing that play up again. >> Gain of four yards. >> The second and six tackle >> at the Everett 26 yd line. [Music] Bz strawmont on the initial wrapup to prevent any further gain by Shane Nolton Samard. [Applause] >> Here's a shotgun snap to a handoff to Bo Champamp. Shakes off Sam Lome outruns a linebacker and scores. Taking the lead for the first time
118this game is Xavier Bo Champamp. Wow, what a turn of events. This is Everett not in control of the game, but up by two scores and Lin English comes out breathing fire. They score. Everett has a mistake on the kickoff and Everett is going to have to play from behind. [Applause] And it's a quick twocore strike by the Bulldogs. We're still have >> 8 minutes and 18 seconds left of this third quarter. >> Lyn English going to line up for a two-point conversion here. It's the one thing they haven't been able to get right today. It's going to be Nolton Samar who's going to take it himself. >> Get it this time >> and just uses his speed to get to the outside for a successful two-point conversion. >> 2621 Bulldogs up top. So first
119lead of the day for Lynn English and Everett is you know Ever remember was ahead of this game 21-6. So English has now scored 20 straight points. There's a replay of the touchdown by Xavier Bochamp who just outruns the overstretched arms of both Wild Feniti and Gideon Legal followed by the two-point conversion attempt by the speedster himself, Nolton Samard. Just goes to the outside where there's no one there to track him down. Cut him off and waltes into the end zone once again. Back out to kick as Dio go for ball flat on the tee. So here's another squib. >> Nolton Somad's going to be over a 100 yards. Ever picks it up. It's going to be Johnny goes finds the sideline and then takes it to midfield. >> Kickoff return by number four, Johnny
120Go. >> Johnny Goes, one of the many seniors on this Crimson Tide squad. makes a play and takes a ball to midfield. >> Yeah, Johnny's not shy. He looking to pick. He had he had one return last week as well. You'll see right there. He's just going to pick it up and makes a little move to the outside there. You don't want to take him on one-on-one. He'll roll you. [Applause] Sumad the quarterback for English is now 124 yards rushing. Here's a hand off to Steven Thomas. Bounces off a couple of Lind English Bulldogs and finally wrapped up making the final stop is number 55 for the Bulldogs. >> Steven Thomas the ball carrier >> Tatari Brown from the tackle. >> But going back to the Johnny Goes play, he is Second down >> and
121never player who made his way through the Pop Warner system before enrolling in high school. Four-year player, successful career at Pop Warner. And there's Tyler Freddy taking the direct snap design quarterback run. Works the sidelines and picks up the first down at the Lynn English 36 yd line. >> Good run by Freddy. [Music] just had open lane to the sideline picking up the first down. Now it's first and 10. Steven Thomas lining up out wide. Marcus Pier receives a handoff. Tries to find his way to the sideline. Good block by Steven Thomas. Good run by Marcus Pierre and finally brought down by Jason McDonald by the Bulldogs. >> I'll pick up the first down for the Crimson Tide. Here's a look at Marcus Pierre. Also good block by Jamari Doulan and finally brought down by
122senior Jason McDonald of the Bulldogs. Well, the Tide are looking to answer and they are well on their way already down into the red zone. English is going to take a timeout. So, we said at the half that 33 points scored and we expected more and they are coming fast and furious. And so, Lyn English breaking pace here by taking their first timeout in the second half coming at the uh near the 7minute mark of the third quarter. >> Kenny Silva, please report to the press box. Kenny Silva, please report to the press box. [Music] And today is definitely a beautiful day for all the festivities that the city of Everett puts up for homecoming weekend. Capping it off with this football game followed by a special performance by the EHS marching band. So, we
123hope you stay tuned for that to officially cap things off here in the city of Everett. No one does homecoming quite like us in Massachusetts. Here's Tyler Freddy in a pistol. Direct handoff to Jamari Doulan up the middle and brought down immediately. Not immediately. Demar Dulan does pick up a few yards. [Music] >> Sometimes the angle I set in I sit in and see it affects some of my perception. [Music] So it'll be second and six. [Music] A lot of shifting over on the offensive line there for the Crimson Tide. >> Interesting formation here. What a mess. [Applause] >> Answer me is can it be a false start if you've never been set? >> Uh, well, they certainly weren't set. It just it looked like they needed a detail cop out there to direct traffic.
124So it'll be second and 11 now for the Crimson Tide. >> Designed quarterback run for Tyler Freddy does have a little bit of breathing room up the middle to pick up a few yards on that play or bring up third down >> for the Crimson Tide as they are back into the red zone. Here's a look at the replay. Steven Thomas lead blocking. >> Good hole right up the middle. >> Okay. Of course. >> And the hole closed up real quick by that Bulldog Bulldog defense. Third and sixth. Sam Lome blocking for Marcus Pierre who trips >> and gets brought down the baller. >> It'll bring up fourth down. It's going to be about fourth and five ine. And this drive was really rolling along and it just kind of stalled here. This is a
125big play though playing from behind for the first time. You'll see. Unfortunately, Pierre tripped and went down and once you're down, you're down. So, fourth and five at about the 15 yd line. >> Jamar Jamari Douly in motion and that's going to >> take >> Well, let's see what the call is going to be. It could go >> Well, it's going to be sides. >> It's going to be illegal procedure against that. The left tackle moved >> unless someone was in the neutral zone first. It's >> going to be a false start. >> Fourth and 10 for the Kun Tide offense now. >> No, it's fourth down. >> Fourth down and 10 from the 20. Yep. There was there was the false start on that replay. Crimson still electing to go for it. They're trying
126to get take back the lead. Freddy looking downfield, gets pressure. >> He's got room. Evades pressure. And you're right, he does have room on the far side of the field and gets it right past the sticks for a fresh set of downs. Wow. To make it first and go from the Crimson Tide 10 yd line. Oh, I'll tell you. He needed 10. I think he got 11. And to get the 11. Well, he got just 10. I think it's an easy measurement. The ball is right at the stick. Take a look at Freddy. And this is where you see a lot of green in front of him. And he makes the decision to run. It's all going to be about the spot. I thought he got to the nine. They spotted it at the 10.
127English coach Tyler McDonald got to realize he can't go all the way down there. This should be the quickest measurement of all time. The stick is literally right there. >> And how often do we get to see a a measuring of the ball in high school football? >> He got it. And that's very first down. >> He didn't need it in this car for that. Football broke past. >> Well, just enough for the first half. >> He needed 10 yards. He did not get 10 yards in one inch. He got 10 yards. Get >> your credit card out for that. >> Wow, that's a big play. Keep this alive. He'll bring up first and goal at the 10 as we are under 4 and 1/2 minutes left in this third quarter. So offense lining up
128on the far hash mark >> at the 10 yd line. >> Steven Thomas split out real wide, but it's going to be a quarterback power for Freddy and does power his way to the two yd line. >> Freddy the ball carrier. [Applause] >> Tackle down at the two yd line. Second down and goal. Second and goal. Tyler Friend receives a call from the sideline and takes it back into the huddle. >> Foul to bet you a bag of popcorns. I'm waiting for Popcorn. It's going to be >> I'm afraid that challenge is not being met. It's going to be a power run for Freddy. Does he get in? They're trying to push him in. He jumped up into the air. I don't think he got in. No, he did not. gets met by the Bulldog
129front line leading the charge at number 55, >> Datario Brown, you know, and of course, every time you got to snap it down here, you know, you're opening the door to a mistake or a penalty or whatever. So, third and goal, two plays to get one yard and retake this lead as we go to the threeminute mark here in the third quarter of a entertaining football game. fronting the back field and it'll be a power play to the other side. This time he does break the plane for an easy touchdown >> to put them up once again. >> Up by one point, 2726. 10 plays, 50 yards on that drive. They did it all on the ground. Well, this is a go for two. If you're up by one, it's an easy decision here to
130try to go up by three. Neither team has really showed much of a kicking game. So, I'm not sure there's that much of a difference. I I don't anticipate a lot of field goals being attempted in this one. So, we have the same looking formation and it's going to be the same play as Tyler Freddy. >> He's not going to get there. who's going to be met by Jason Propser of the Bulldogs >> and then supported by the rest of that defensive line. >> That tackle to Tari Brown. >> So, three straight quarterback power plays at the goal line. One of them gets into the end zone. It'll be 2726 with 3 minute and 1 second left in this third quarter. I guess someone has answered the challenge here. Their press box. Paul Hollard has
131received his bag of popcorn. Everyone, >> oh my god, >> give that man a hand. Hey, can I pay you? >> No. No. >> I thought Justin saved your day. >> Oh my god. While Feniti kicks it off deep, fielded by number 16, Tyan Leak, and brought down hard. It's going to be ruled down by contact. He was down. >> Cashes Jay on the return. >> Correction is Cash Chay on the return. Not Tan Leak and brought down hard by Tommy Robos. [Applause] Okay. If you hear a crinkling sound, that's just a bag of pupcond. Do not get alarmed cuz I'm not waiting. Courtesy of Justin Han. >> Yes. >> The Justinian. >> I've been told that the kids call him the Justinian. >> I call him the savior. >> In Noah, we call him
132Justin Prime. story to that one later. But here's Milton Samar with the hand off to Bo Champ. >> Almost breaking free, but following a broad arm from behind at the ankles by Tyler Freddy. >> No reason to think anem they're going to do anything different. They've had good luck on the ground. They had 123 yd rushing in the first half. They came out with a great drive to take the to get to within a few points and then after the turnover, they took the lead. But they've done a lot of damage on the ground, especially in this quarter. They've had runs of 12, 16, 34, and 27. Both teams keeping it to their ground here in the third quarter. But and here's another handoff to Bo Champ. Initially, he met in the back field, but
133stayed upright, kept his legs moving to pick up the first down. A gain of four yards. >> Yeah, he had to work for that one, but Also, [Applause] >> first down ever. >> Here's a look at that replay. >> First down Bulldogs >> just outruns the edge edge defenders who couldn't make the play for a Tiger for a loss and does pick up the first yard, first down. bubble pop to the freshman Mai Kirk and immediately flooded >> by the Crimson Tai defense. >> Well, he did a good job in him holding on to that. That was a low pass and he knew he was going to get hit right away. Joseph >> Kervin Joseph who made the defensive play slow to get up and might have to come out >> and he will be
134checked out by the athletic trainers. So you see >> effort 27. >> Yeah, I had to move that up while I was chewing my pup name. I tried not to have the sound effects of the pup. 2726. >> It's a long game, folks. >> And definitely entertaining. A lot of back and forth. curve and Joseph gets back up >> number 12 >> and will walk off >> to the sideline in his own power. That was actually a loss of two on that pass completion. So Lyn English will be faced with second. Oh, look at they're all lined up to get Popcorn. >> Yeah, Joseph has to come out. [Music] So, here's a second and 12 play. Milton Samard and an easy path into the end zone. Are you kidding me? Wow. Takes the lead right
135back. >> Number seven, Shane Dolton Samar. >> Shane Nolan Samar doing it all on the ground today. No flies on the play. 3227 Lind English back on top, continuing on their offensive hot streak from their last four games. >> Reaching close to their average. [Music] >> Nolton Samad as the quarterback. 16 carries, 189 yards, four touchdowns. >> Wow. >> And Lyn English is going to line up for a two-point conversion attempt. That's a big one because Ever could take the lead without an extra point if they don't convert on this. There's going to be Milton Samar taking himself again untouched into the end zone. The two-point conversion is good by Nolton Samar. >> So that will bring up Linton English >> 113 remaining in the third quarter. >> 3427 >> Ever 27. >> Well, I
136said we were going to have more points in name. I didn't realize it would be to this extreme. L English in this quarter has scored 22 points. >> Wow. >> Here's a look at that touchdown run. [Applause] Once he was five yards beyond the line of scrimmage and him, you called it live. He was gone. There was just no one there. >> Just an open freeway at night. >> I know. >> Da go four looking to scribble it up the middle once again as all his kicks has been up to this point. And yep, squib picked up [Applause] >> picked up by >> Roshan Belly. >> Number 25, the sophomore for the Crimson Tide. >> Roan Bell. >> Ball fielded at the Everett 35 yd line. Well, the Tide uh had the lead the whole
137game. They lost it. They came right back to take it, but they didn't have it for long. They had it for about less than two minutes at their own 35 yd line. >> And that's how long it took for Lyn English to take that lead coming out of the halftime. >> Yes, that is correct. >> Yeah, they had the lead in less than three minutes. They scored the go-ahead touchdown at 8:18. >> But no need for the Tide to do anything different here. met in the back field but keeps turning forward with a second a effort by Steven Thomas >> for a positive gain on that play. He's going to gain four yards. Yeah, it didn't look like he was going to get that much y. >> So, we are down to presuming their running
138plays. Just a couple of plays left in this third quarter and then he'll have time to buckle up for the fourth quarter. [Music] >> Tyler Freny with another hand off to Steven Thomas. Bounces off to the outside. Tries to cut cut it up and does get brought down right near the first down marker. Not going to get it necessarily be short one yard. So it'll be third and one. >> Third and one. and ever does not need to snap it. And I I don't think they would want to snap, but they have time to get this play called and head into the fourth. They are heading to the line of scrimmage, so we'll see. I don't see what the hurry would be here. And that'll be the end of the third quarter with Lynn English
139leading 3427. Different squad from what we saw in the opening quarters of this game. Thank god that pup gun got here. Anem, I need sustenance to get me through the fourth. >> Another look at the cheers from a different angle. We have one cheerle shout in particular. Co- captain Emma Perry, who's also the student representative who sits at school committee. >> Oh, there's the senior class president. >> Miles, there's another tide hat. a different side. And that's David Han on camera one. David O' Conor won't like that hat. >> He doesn't like that tie. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. >> Going back to >> He's a tiger. >> Going back to Emma Perry. She's also in the NHS Key Club and the senior class treasurer. And here's a look at our video production teacher at Everett
140High School, Al O'Donnell and Evan Hubard. recent graduate of Ever High School and Tony Lelaw, another recent graduate of Ever High School. He's studying broadcast communications at Roxberry Community College. Back to football. Tyler Freddy keeps turning forward for extra yards after contact. Brings the ball to the Lynn English 46 yd line. >> Yeah, 10 yards. So, nothing fancy is being done here. are a name by either team, but they are just grinding it out on the ground. I keep saying that. That's terrible language. They combined for 267 y 266 in the first half. So, this is just more of the same. >> And here's Steven Thomas on the carry. Correction, Marcus Pierre. >> That's five yards. That's fine. Another [Applause] senior co- captain for the cheerleaders is Danica Fam. The Crimson Tie will be graduating
14110 seniors from the cheerleading program. So, second and five. We get a timeout called. >> This is the type of game where you might want to have your timeouts down the stretch cuz it could be a last team to have the ball type game. Timeout taken by Lynn English. They'll be left with one in this fourth quarter. We still have 10 minutes and 51 seconds left. >> We got little footballs being thrown around here. >> Little giveaway in the stands by the time leaders. >> Open the window and they might be able to get one in here. >> You think they could reach? You think they have the throwing power? I think I saw a couple spirals. There's a look at what was going on during that break by you know it David Han camera
142one action brought to your screen by his brother Justin Han running the show here's Tyler Freddy with a keep has nothing there >> just picks up one yard on that play it'll be third and fourth yeah you know it's it's the type of game where you you you don't want to not be able to answer. More terrible ling English. Double negative. You know, you want to be able to answer because there's no guarantee you're going to stop them the way things are going. So, it it's almost like, you know, it's like a tennis match. You have to in order to hold serve, you have to score. So, Tide faced with two plays to get four yards here. And it's going to be a quarterback run by Tyler Freddy right off tackle. He's going to get
143right about to the sticky on the carry >> and it looks like they might first down >> push the sticks forward. So it'll be first and 10 from the Lynn English 36 yd line on the stop for the Bulldogs. Number nine, >> Dre Ray. Yeah, that's the idea now is just to keep moving the chains and Freddy is uh Of course, he had that huge run on Everett's touchdown of the half on fourth and 10. He got just to the chains to keep that drive alive. >> Here's a sweep to Dulan. Will he have the sideline this time? Yes, he does >> and picks up about nine yardds. >> Well, we've been waiting for that. You know, Dulan has not been able to get around the edge that time. He had enough of blocking out
144top and he's very dangerous when he does get to the edge. Good run by Dulan. He gets down to the 28 yd line. It'll be second and two. >> Defense playing close to the box, freeing up the sideline for Dulan. First good look on that sweep play this game. And also great blocking by the Crimson Tide as there's another run play. This time Marcus Pierre tries to break free and then driven backwards. Flags thrown crashing Steven Thomas the ball carrier. But I'm going to slide throw it over the place. [Music] >> I think this might be against English. >> Could be possible. Face mask like a horse collar or face mask. Yeah, >> face mask. Big play. Oh my goodness. >> That'll be a half the distance. [Music] [Applause] So, a great opportunity. Is that
145the 12? Yeah. >> Great opportunity for the Crimson Tide to tie up this game. Here's a look at that previous play. And there it is. The face mask by number 55 Datari. >> Yeah, that's a big play. directs now to Tyler Freddy working the sideline trying to break free. Reaches out past the goal line and gets it. [Applause] >> Touchdown for Tyler Freddy. >> Tyler Freddy. >> Yep. The ball came loose when he hit the ground. That's all you got to do is break the play. Now here is the allimp important two-point conversion. Or will they try to kick to tie it? I don't think so. The way this game is going, >> the decision will come down to Rob Dorretta who was sending out Tyler Freddy. Yeah, I think if you were kicking to
146go ahead, Anem, they might do it, but to down by one. Uh, I think they want to try to take the lead. >> And then the challenge will become a that reverse play worked well once. Wonder if we'll see that again. Here's a Jamari. Jamari Dulan. Cut in. In. Get in. There you go. And there it is. [Applause] >> Ever has the lead here in the fourth quarter courtesy of the two-point conversion of Jamari Doulan following the touchdown run by Tyler Freddy. >> Well, now you got you got to do something on defense. And England English this half has [Applause] [Music] 186 yards rushing in the third quarter for Lynn English given them 309 for the game. So this is where you need to tighten up on defense just a little bit. >> And the
147rushing yards split between by Shane Nolton Samard at quarterback and running back Xavier Bojan. Correct. Samard has 189 himself. Yeah, that's touchdown. Good job by the official. [Music] Here's Wy Feniti sending it off deep this time to Mai Kirk. Works his way to the far side of the field. Has some green space. Does he have the blocking and gets brought down at the 37 yd line? >> So 69 points scored and we still have 9007 to go. Ramos on the tackle. >> Tackle made by Tommy Ramos, a sophomore running back for the Crimson Tide. Limps off field and we hope that he's okay. [Music] So, another look at this highly explosive offense led by the senior backfield Shane Nolton Samard and Xavier Bo Champ. Here's a look at that kickoff return. Good wrap up by
148Tommy Ramos. So here we go. Time for some D. >> And as the saying goes, defense wins games in football. Going to be a design quarterback run for Nolar, but gets nothing there. Stays upright until the whistles are blown at the 36 yd line. >> A loss of one yard. Tackle made by Benson Charlemont. >> Loss of one on the play. Second down. >> Armani Negron first through the back field to wrap him up and then supported by Benson Charmont and Wild Feniti. [Applause] Three receivers for the Bulldogs. is going to be another quarterback here for Nolton Samard. Picks up a block from his wide receivers. And there you go. Another open lane into the end zone for Nolton Samard. >> Five rushing touchdowns. This is on the [Applause] >> good 151 yards rushing. And
149was that three plays on the drive? >> It was two plays. >> Two plays on the drive. >> Don't blink. >> Especially when Samar is at quarterback. >> Wow. >> So, a lot of back and forth here in the second half. Linding is going to go for two. They are up by five as it stands. and we'll see how they're going to punch it into the end zone for a two-point conversion attempt. >> To receive the split out wide is going to be quarterback keep by Milton Samard untouched into the end zone puts us up in English 4235. >> Well, they held surf with a ace down the line. Their offensive hot streak continues into John Deza Junior Field. Take a look at that downfield blocking. You got a good block by number four Jason
150McDonald. And that seals a deal for the speedy Nolton Samard goes untouched into the end zone again. Nolton Samard and Bamp have combined for 32 carries and 373 yards. Wowza. It looks like Crimson Tide has been playing man defense this entire time. No safety back deep. No last line of defense. And Not Samar just outruns everyone in that front first wave of defenders. Here's another script kick. Giant goes let it go by. >> Effective. Get on it. >> Touched and recovered. That was an effective one. You know those script kicks obviously the longer they could stay on the ground the more time you have to cover it and that was pretty effective. So Ever >> not great field position their own 28 yet still 808 to go. Ball recovered by Roshan Belly. Here's an up
151close look of the huddle led by Rob Derto, vice principal and ever head coach for the football team's life. Celebration of life. >> Okay, your turn. Tide. It's going to be quarterback keep Freddy up the middle. Breaks free but not pass that second defender. Tackle made by Jason McDonald after a gain [Music] >> brought down by number >> for a first and 10 from the 43 yd line. >> Battle of the running quarterbacks to me. [Applause] This one is going to be a handoff to Steven Thomas >> right off tackle >> and start up at the 48 yd line. [Music] [Applause] >> There's five though. Yeah, you'll take those five yards on first down any time. Once again, tackle made by Jason McDonald. [Applause] >> Duel in motion again, but it's going to be another
152quarterback keep. sheds off one defender and then finally you're brought down by Ryan >> for another Crimson Tide >> number eight of the Bulldogs. >> You realize the quarterbacks in this game have combined for nine rushing touchdowns. >> Wow. >> Yeah. >> I always like to call this kind of game the battle of the trenches cuz you just keep it down on the ground. let their front line battle it out and let your quarterbacks or running backs run through it. That time Lyn English front line won that battle. >> Thomas for a oneyd gain. >> Second and nine at the Lin English 42 yd line. [Music] Freddy has 147 yards on 27 carries and four touchdowns. That's the other thing. The the quarterbacks have combined for 45 carries in this game. [Music] >> Julian in
153motion. >> They got to give it to him. makes a lot of moves to make a few defenders miss and picks up another four yards it seems or two yards [Music] >> tackled by number 22 >> yard game >> by doing it >> just y third and long though third and six from the 39 so tid have some work to do here >> believe Crimson Tide has two pass attempts and two completions both to Armani Negron in this [Music] as they line up with three receivers to the top of the formation. He's dueling in motion as we've seen that motion many times before. Freddy launches a deep cut >> over Mai Kirk B Abraham Pierre. >> Abraham Pier. What a grab by Abraham Pierre [Applause] and good throw by Tyler Freddy nonetheless >> time for
154Abraham Pierre's first catch. Here's a look. Nice touch by Freddy and good high point by Pierre. Just leaps up and grab the plexer from the air. Tyler Freddy now putting it back on the ground [Applause] >> and picks up >> two yards. >> Brown on the tackle. >> Datari Brown on the tackle. >> Second and goal from the eight yd line. [Applause] or is at the seven yd line. It's going to be a hand off to Steven Thomas. >> Takes it past the 5 yd line. Gets brought down. >> You know, at this point, I mean, I mean, you want to score obviously, but the way this game's going, you don't want to. The less time you can leave them with, the better. >> You wonder if that's exactly what Rob Delerta had in planned
155for this drive. Well, you got two downs to get three yards. And now then we're back to another key conversion. >> Ball sparted at the three yd line. [Music] [Applause] [Music] >> Here's Freddy with a snap. Go outside. Oh my goodness. outside was wide open. A walk-in touchdown with a lead blocker with no one to block. Thomas was out there. Oh boy. Tyler Freddy was a tremendous runner. He will not like it when he sees that filter. He was a waltz into the end zone if he stayed outside. But no gain. And here we go. Fourth and goal at the three. And this could be the ball game. Look at two blockers. Lome and Thomas >> decides to cuss it up into a line of Bulldog defenders. >> Well, I got to tell you, this
156could be the ball game. Anem, even with three minutes left, although if you don't make it, you do pin them deep. >> Forced down. Duel in motion from the slot. He receives a handoff looking for the sideline. Has the speed to make it. Dives in and gets it in for the score. Tamari Dulan holding Everett. I saw it live. >> Yep. I saw it live. Right on the edge. The block that Dulan needed to get in the end zone was a hold. You'll see it on the replay. And I'll take him back to the 13 yd line. [Applause] Yeah, fans don't like it, but if we get a chance to see the replay, I think you're going to see that the key block. Just take a look as he's looking at the edge. It's right
157there. See the handful of shirt, his shoulder, it's either here on 62 or keep it running. Keep it going. Keep it going. There's another one out here. right there. I think it was the one on 62. You can see the shirt actually come away from the shoulder pad. >> Looks like it could have been called on both players. They could only accept one penalty in football. Well, >> this is a pickle here. >> You got to think it's a a pass. [Applause] Looks like they're trying to draw Lynn English off size to pick up five more yards >> to set up fourth and goal at the eight. I don't understand that that time out. You might need that timeout. >> We are inside three minutes. That's a That's a quizzical one right there. I mean,
158I could see if you're, you know, if you're if you're down uh close to the goal line or that's the play where you're on fourth and less than five, you want to convert. This is fourth and goal from the 13. If you draw them off, you're at fourth and goal from the eight. Whoopde-doo. [Music] Well, the good news is Freddy has only attempted one pass in this quarter and it was a excellent 30- yd reception to Abraham Pierre. So, you would think in we're going to see some type of pass run option. Although, you know, the run has to gain 13 yds in order to get wherever it needs to get, which is in the end zone. I just received information that wearing number 28 is actually Gerald Zamore. Oh, >> sorry. >> That someone
159tested me. >> What's his normal number? 88. Gerald Zamore, younger brother of Ishmael Zamore, who did receive a scholarship offer to play at Boston College. But here's Tyler Freddy looking to his left, looking to the end zone, has one receiver there. That was Gerald Zamore he was looking for. Ball tipped and Paul ball will pass will be incomplete. >> Linton English taking over on downs from the 13 yd line of their own territory. One timeout left for both teams. 2 minutes and 46 seconds left here to play. And there's a look of Jerome Zamore. [Applause] [Music] >> One and one. Tyler Freddy was just throwing a little high got a hand on it. >> Well, tries to float it up to a point where only >> I got to tell you this is where that
160timeout is going to hurt you. Okay. You can only stop the clock once. English is going to do nothing other than what they have been doing. >> Zero coverage here on the defense is going to be hand up to Bo Champ. Hard to bring down and finally brought down after a tough two game >> except as a face mask. >> Bo Champ the ball carrier flag of the play. >> The referee threw that from behind the play looking right at the tackle. I think they got a face mask. >> Might be only five though. Nope, not 15. Oh boy. >> So, first down given to Lynn English and they'll have better and more comfortable field position to possibly run out this clock. >> Wow. Ever is called ever cannot stop the clock yet. And English
161is going to have first down. No more timeouts left for Everett. Lynn English holds on to one. 2 minutes and 32 seconds left in this game here in this Saturday afternoon matchup. >> Boy, Everett had the chance. Boy, the the big play was unfortunately the hold on fourth and goal from the three that negates the touchdown to pull them to within one. And then again, 232 to go. So they they can't run it all the way out, but boy, they could run most of it out >> cuz this will be the biggest win in Lyn English football in many, many years. I can tell you that. if they hold on. Currently riding on a four game winning streak, especially in conference play. Here's Samar with the hand off to Bo Champ, the two-headed monster in
162the backfield that's done the boatload of the work here in this 42point lead. >> Sam Lome on the tackle. >> So it's going to be second and eight. I mean, they can't run it all the way out without with a first down. Obviously, they can, but best case scenario is Everett would get the ball with probably about 30 seconds left, no timeouts, and presumably some distance to go if English has to punt this. But first and foremost, you have to prevent a first down cuz otherwise then if they get a first down, the corpulent female comes out to test her vocal cords. is going to be a quarterback keep by No Samard. He needed a first down, but he's going to get a touchdown here. Slowing it down, daring the defender to catch up to
163him. And then finally, finally crosses into the end zone. [Applause] >> This is a performance for the ages by Shane Nolton Samard who was a wide receiver last year. his fifth touchdown on the ground today. >> 19 carries, 319 yards, six touchdowns. >> That six-pack is not a violation of the chemical health rule. and they're going to line up for two points. >> Well, which is, you know, this is window dressing at this point. Everett's going to need to score quickly and get an onside kick. But, but yeah, as you said, any we're talking about preventing the first down and [Applause] Bo Champ got in for 50. [Music] And [Applause] >> Milton had the presence of mind to slow down just to run out the clock a little bit longer >> in the fourth quarter
164English 50. >> Here's a look and of course untouched [Music] there. There he is. Slow starting to slow down at the 20 yd line. Extending the play for as long as he can getting chased down by Hamza Dake and then finally breaks the plane. Lyn English hits the half century mark with 50 points on the scoreboard. They're continuing on their offensive hot streak in GBL action. [Music] Bringing up their average from 43.7 points per game in conference play. Here's a squib kick to the left. Slide ball and just downed at the 31 yd line. So, a disappointing end to a thus far 129 left, but to a festive day here at Everett, uh, with coach DBaso being uh, I don't want to say memorialized cuz he is alive and well, but enshrined with his name
165to live on the field forever. And uh ever really, you know, has played very very well, especially offensively, but you know, defensively, you just can't give up a half a hundred to a team that has only thrown the ball, I think, four times, if I'm not mistaken. Uh, six times. Team put the ball up six times and put up 50 5-0 points. I know that they're more screen plays on the bubble. So there's Tyler Freddy looking to launch it deep down the middle for that's it and that's going to be intercepted by Jason McDonald >> and that will seal the deal for Lynn English. >> Lin English is this is a huge win for them. Oh now we have an ever player who wants to fight. The time to fight was before now. Great job
166by his teammates getting him out of there. Give me a break. >> And a good job by this coach going out to get him. Len English will cap off their SE regular season next week at Somerville playing at Dilboy Stadium and Everett will be traveling to River. [Applause] >> The Lin English is playing their Thanksgiving game against Lynn Classical at Manning Field. >> That's a big one every year. But they're going to be playing, they may be playing playoff games before then. You know, this will help them in the division three power rankings. They were 18th going into today. And you said they're playing some next week, didn't they? >> Yep. So, there's a winnable game. >> So, [Applause] the good news is if you sneak in at 16, you're in the playoffs. The bad
167news, I think King Phillip, who's a perennial power, actually, I think they dropped down to division three. So, you'd be looking at an all expense paid trip to rent them uh in round one. But that's okay. Tyler McDonald is building something here. And you got to give this team credit. They were down 21 to6 and one score away from presumably, you know, getting run out and this is what they do. So, good for them. Victory formation for the Bulldogs. Milton Samar will probably have to take one more knee >> before they could parade off into the sunset on their own. to the entrance. >> But don't tune out just yet. We will have a senior night ceremony of the cheerleaders and the football players followed by a special performance by the Ever High Crimson Tide
168marching band. >> Please make your way towards the entrance. >> Well, I think you're right, Anem. One more snap. Maybe this is going to hurt uh Nolton Samad's rushing. >> That should do it. What a good win for the Lingish Bulldogs. You have to give them credit for their resiliency coming on the road on a day that ever had all the motivation in the world. And Everett showed up. Everett showed up to play today and Lyn English just came out with a dominating second half. They scored 38 points in the second half to get this big win for them as they fight for a division 3 playoff game. The final score, Win English 50, Everett 35.
