okay s we don't know Mr Jones Mr yes Mr meres yes St yes Finance report once again Mr Deo please cash balance report as of November 30th 2023 balance on from mmdt of a million3 l payroll on November 9th 1,296 6822 interest for the month was 27 64 transfers to our operating accounts and the ending balance of mmt 30th totaler 265 thank you you have hand need to vote I'm sorry to accept on the cash balance report M voting report report as submitted yes yes consolidation report a hand um revolving fund it's a new packet the budget report is in your pcket hand out on budget Andel speaking on the budget fy2 just have a quick update on our fiscal year 25 budget I think this is just a good explanation of our process at

glts so just to tell you where we are right now yeah just St which most of you or some of you probably heard that the heing administration is making NC Bud of at with all that said um we're so one kind of bright spot though is that our Chapter 70 estimates are based on Foundation enrollment and increase of 80 students so we will be seeing some sort of increase in our Chapter 70 I um so once we get those Chapter 70 estimates which will be released after the governor's budget comes out on January 24th we'll do another um review and whatever those numbers are we'll determine how we move forward with our budget but on February 13th we'll bring a full budget recommendation to the school committee with a presentation on where we stand for

the next couple of slides I just of includer en order the last I've included what we determined are going to be some needed Staffing increases for next year um these are all 1.0 FTE positions which means they just fulltime positions um committee approved a new we're also yes uh my first question goes back to the second um slide under the review process so we all just listen to the request from The Advisory reports um there were no dollar amounts attached to any of their requests so I'm assuming that in this planning and review those are included and what I took away from The Advisory uh report in there my biggest takeway was that eight different shops are requesting more space not necessarily more teacher they need more space and I know that we have reduced

space in some areas in order to expand more programs I don't mean within their shop so I I feel like that if are able to honor their requests and give them more space either by building out taking away from somebody else that's all going to cost money so if most of as John had superintendent had said most of at the beginning most of our requests their requests are honored so have the factors of giving those shops more space but some it was just storage space but still involves money for building out that space has that been included in that review and Analysis so marily we have not started an analysis of space for the upcoming year except Sue and I did have a short discussion about it yesterday actually on the way up to a

meeting in Native yesterday um so we will be doing a deep dive in looking at our existing space and our potential because we have some new staing how we're going to ensure that everyone has adequate space um some of it will be Rel leave once some of the new buildings are done that presently in construction now will have an impact on help helping some of that resolve some of those problems going to be making a shift and move spes but we will be addressing all of that space need and trying to come up with some solutions to meet those issues in terms of U funding as many some of those recommendations um I don't know we did include in the budget many of the recommendations but I'm not sure that we had all those recommendations

at the time we did the initial budget but we do have uh a Improvement uh uh budget or uh account that has a substantial amount of money that I think we could look to to resolve some to uh resolve some of those requests thank you questions donations see any donations article there an arle here from chairman mrar try to fill shoes uh Mr ly would like to speak on that please oh there was an article uh we had send off for former chair I had a thought and I thought i' s it to the committee in in a way of recognizing and U showing our gratitude and for all the work of 38 years of moving glts you know in a very positive direction I think for almost every one of those years we seen

some positive growth or Improvement or success for the school but the impact he had sometimes you know the impact that school committee in general is not always felt or understood by uh the teachers students or anything but the work that you do at this table really does have a huge impact on the success of the school so as chairman for 36 years I would like I would like to entertain recommendation or motion to name the front driveway the Leo L montain drive for the front of the school I'll make the motion make that motion on that yes M Mr Jones yes Mr Mahia yes yes Mr toox yes Miss Fitzgerald yes Mr Hayden yes did you have something we it was noted that we to so we shouldn't have known that yes noted I'm sorry

I should have done moving on superintendent report State trff have a request for out ofate travel uh for the uh students uh from the biotechnology Department to go on a field trip to Manchester New Hampshire to visit a uh Advanced uh regenerative manufacturing Institute in Manchester New Hampshire um which requires the school committee's approval because it's our state this Gerald yes Mr TLA yes Mr Jones yes Mr M yes Mr T yes Mr yes at this time you can see that we continue to see a strong response in in our admissions uh applications uh right now we have a grand toal of 1, 21 students that have applied and you see a break you see the report breakdown from the different middle schools where the students have uh applied from and uh so that process

continues to be ongoing and uh after February vacation we'll start to do acceptance uh of those students um we expect uh continue to see applicants come in um these are that we have all the records for we actually have more than applications in this but these are the ones in which we have all the documentation we need in order to make decisions but by the time we're ready to start doing our exception we expect somewhere around 1500 students again this year does this includ updating school projects please so uh I wanted to give you an update on the major projects we have going on here at the school uh we have five major projects where we invest we have a large investment of funding in commitment to uh completing that will result in new spaces

for uh some of our existing programs for one of our disting programs and one of our new programs in particular so the first one you see up there is the aviation building one which is the largest project of all uh we have an architectural firm uh that is working on uh completing the draw the drawings are actually completed and they're out to an estimator to give us a s of of what to expect for uh the cost of the of the project and uh in another week we'll be ready to put it out the bid once it goes out the bid uh we expect to get bids in after a couple of weeks and hope to open the the bids in early February and then award the project and get it off the ground by

the middle of February it's a project we're trying to um have completed by the beginning of the year it's critic building in supporting our new program I think uh can we click click on that link uh underneath there soon will allow us to click to show the drawings for that it's not working okay I did have I was hoping to show you some drawings on each one of those but looks like it's not working that's okay so it's a building that um uh just under 70 ft wide and 110 ft long it's it's going against the small building actually is uh going to go right up against the small gym on the north side of the school and um it will have uh space uh that will uh allow us to provide related Theory uh

instruction as well as Hands-On shop instruction have a 40 foot garage door which allows us to bring in airplanes um without having to remove the Wings off the planes and uh but that will be our main shop lab for that program once it's completed and we have Aviation building two Aviation building two is also a building being construction for that particular program the first building uh building one will house uh 9th 10th grade students uh Aviation building two will house uh uh oh excuse me uh building one of house 9th and 11th grade students building two of House 10th grade students that's also an aviation building going out by the football field over near the all our garages if you look to the north side of the building again you'll you'll see kind of the

Northwest side of the building you'll see that there's a that under construction now Foundation is in and the students are are building constructing the walls now for that particular building uh in about two weeks we'll be putting the trusses on the roof uh so it'll be well on wayway the expectation is to have that Building completed by the middle of April that's a critical building in order to get FAA approval and uh gu you can't it on that okay so that building is at about 35 is 35 ft wide and 85 F feet long and uh and uh originally was planned to be a block building but we switched to a wood building uh for two reasons what for mainly because of the uh lateness of getting the building started and trying to uh get

it constructed in the winter where a block building would have been a bigger Challenge and because construct doing construction work Mak me work in the middle would have uh increased the uh cost of the building substantially so we uh went to with wood which The Architects uh said would still meet cod with regards to the um building codes for a shop space of that nature then the third uh project we've got going on is the horiculture landscape building which is a new barn it's two stories it's going to have a gamra roof on it uh it is 30t wide 85 ft long it's going to be um to the right of the uh Greenhouse over in the back of the build back of the school out near the parking lot and that building uh is

being constructed to replace uh the shop that the Horticulture landscape building uh program was in uh previously which is going to be the next thing which is the lower cafeteria so we're converting their old space to a cafeteria uh we're hoping to have that done uh by the beginning of April uh we hoping to open that beginning of April and that'll allow us to relieve the overcrowded that's in our existing cafeteria um and uh and also we're hoping to eliminate our latest lunch time which is 1:00 which is a late time for kids to have lunch so we're try that'll allow us to do a schedule which will be more conducive to uh times that will be more appropriate for the students to eat and it's a more timely manit um and then uh the

last project that we're basically finishing up this uh field project phase four which is way out beyond the softball turf softball field which is 95% done uh we're just waiting for the spring well we'll plant the grass and everything else is pretty much completed on that field project which will make another field available for our uh spring we're hoping to open it this spring U for our uh spring uh Sports and those are our particular projects what I will do though is I'm going to send you a link which will show you a floor plan of each of those projects so you a better sense of it was hoping that we could U connect to it I thought those links would work but I guess that's what happens when you do a last minute we

were putting this together at uh about 4 o' this afternoon so um but we'll get that to thank you uh update on the hanger for the aviation program specifically for license agreement okay okay so uh right now um we are we were hoping to sign a license agreement with the City of Lawrence uh for the uh in able to able to start doing some work in the uh hanger out of the Lord's airport it's the hanger that the city purchased uh really on our behalf uh and as soon as we're able to purchase it which requires an approval from our cities and towns uh vote with our uh cities our city uh city council uh both from Lawrence mathon has to vote uh for us to purchase it and our two towns have to vote

for it at town meeting but both La uh Andover North Handover town meeting is not till May so we won't be able to purchase it from the city until May uh because of our Charter and because of a special Act of 1960 when school was building it's preventing us from purchasing property outside the building which is the same case with the building down the street that we're looking to purchase at some point um so uh I'm in touch with the city council um and we'll uh continue to work with them and uh we are um doing some uh preliminary review of what the space looks like and uh making some some uh uh doing some sketching in hand design work ourselves uh rather than hiring architect right now so we can be have everything prepared

and planned to get a jump start on once we do own so I did want to give you an update on that so a motion not this time sorry it's on the lower cafeteria is that just the serving area and everything kitchen no it'll have its own kitchen thank you wel please oh for the one that Contracting out yes Sor I just don't remember time so so we're looking to uh we're putting it out to bid uh we're hoping to put out the bid in a couple more weeks and then once the bid goes out uh we will bring the all the the bid documents to you for approv on the uh low B selection or or the appropriate contractor that you would like to us to move forward and hiring that committee any else

um superintendent purchasing of the Elks okay so uh in terms of purchasing the El I put if you can see up I put a slide together to better uh give Clarity to what what's necessary because the the AL is a building that we were looking to purchase to expand access Vo ational education uh and uh before we can expand access we need to have more space and we're looking to do something in similar to our after dark program but only during the day uh we've talked about it many times at school committee meetings but for our new members we haven't really you probably not aware of some of the what we're looking at but the first uh step in moving forward with uh the idea of EXP standing on uh another piece of property uh

we need to go through a process uh and so I outline what that process is that we're looking that we're doing and that's first and foremost is I will be attending I want to uh ensure that uh the uh board of directors at the AL is on board I've had several conversations with some of their leaders but I'm going to be presenting at the board of directors of the Elks at their next uh board of directors meeting to talk about uh GTS plans for that building and ensure that they are in favor of moving forward on a possible purchase uh albe it I know they're uh are aware of our requests but I thought it's important to speak to the full board to make sure that um that they are for with it before we

start investing a lot of time and effort and money into pursuing that and step number two would be we need to uh in order to purchase any property outside the school that's not owned by a municipality we need to have a a new legislative bill passed by it's a home rule bill so it's basically our legislators within our own districts that will be uh voting on uh a bill to uh change our uh that allow us to go to our cities and town change our Charter uh in order to purchase the Elks if we decide that's the building that we would want to purchase or the building that we hope to purchase someday um the um then the next part of that process would be for the committee to approve to hire a bond attorney

so uh at some point uh after I go through this I look for a vote to do that uh because in order to purchase that building we would need a 4 million doll Bond uh so which would require the committee to approve us to uh go to the cities and town for an approval uh to uh fund the $4 million Bond all of that language in the process for that is the is the reason we need to hire a bond attorney our it's a special attorney that's required to develop all the documentation and all the proper procedures and protocols necessary when working with both the committee in our cities and towns so that's step number one and then uh we would then go to cities and towns to approve the $4 million bond for the

purchase of the building uh if that passes then we'd have to move forward to negotiate a purchase of the bu building and then if we come to some agreement then U then we would purchase the building so um I wanted the committee to understand that the reality of us going forward with this project means that we need to get a bond for $4 million which I don't you know uh that I would then basically saying yes to moving forward with hiring a bond attorney in essence is kind of agreeing with the idea that we would go to our cities and town for the 4 mil so um I'm fine that the committee would prefer to wait to our next meeting to give this more thought and may have more questions which I'd be free to

answer either tonight or if you want to meet okay I brokee down a few notes Here what you were talking um I feel like we've kind of put the cart before the horse in terms that I would not be ready to vote for um getting a bond attorney tonight I would first want you to sit down with our attorneys and the board of directors until that meeting happens the rest is kind of just wishful thinking I am certainly not opposed to the thought of expanding the campus originally you had talked about the after that program being a daytime program versus expanding our own student base down there um especially in light of all the space issues that we talked about tonight taking care of this building first but I feel that until we got legal

opinion on first I feel like the home rule petition would pass in a heartbeat because of the people we would have proposing this far us so I I have no problem with that petition but the thoughts of us as a group I know my town right now is making Fast and Furious Cuts in their own school budget and their whole town budget based on they having dropping enrollment so how would I be able to go back and say look we got to do this I think we need more homework done starting with you our attorneys representing us meeting with their board of directors to see if this is an actual real thing that could happen I think the legislative bill would be a slam up but I would not be ready to do that tonight

so I just want to be up front about that I'm not opposed to looking into this seriously but not ready to go to V is or attorney excuse me thank you I have kind of I think going ahead um too fast to to a f and actually to even think about you hiring um where is the bill the bill where is that process right now so the bill is so the bill is being written by our representative Frank Marin's uh team is in the process of writing that bill they were expecting to write it this week and submitting it to our attorney for review um so that's being done now um so what I would say is uh that I've met with our attorney several times our own School attorney several times about this particular

project and the process we needed to go through in order to make this uh happen um and um in terms of the Elks meeting with the El um board of directors um I'm perfectly fine with your suggests in Maryland that we do that and then come back and see how that meeting goes and then you can make a decision whether we want to go for the bond uh attorney or not the only reason I suggest contacting a bond attorney is to understand how much time and effort it's going to take for us to process this this whole uh ordeal we did go with a bond attorney once before for a project it took four or five months in order to get that process done uh so I just was um looking to try to connect

with uh the bond attorney to find out what are we really looking at here and what are the challenges that we're looking at for it so um I told understand uh but I didn't want to get out the whole idea that we're going to have to go for a bond to do this project I want the committee to kind of know that and understand it digest it a little bit and I'm happy to review the whole project again we've gone through it a few times and it was I went through with our legislative body and everything what it is we're really trying to do and I'm happy to review that whole project again to refresh everybody's memory what does that school entail we trying to promote what what kind of access are we trying to

provide our our students future students in terms of uh an education that's different than how we provide here at glts yet it's still chapter 74 it meets the state's requirements of um 800 hours of uh vocational training in order to receive a vocational uh certificate so um happy to table the whole idea of vote for tonight if the committee would like to do that by next meeting yes I had one um final question the four communities their CEOs have they have any idea that we're looking towards this or their ch finan officers and the impact that would have on the communities so uh they were all invited to the legislative breakfast they heard what our future plans were and so in terms of um one of my next steps was to have a oneone meeting

with all of our CEOs Mayors and town managers to talk about it as well as our superintendents because I think it's important for each of the superintendents to buy into the project and so that's also part of the process of before I would bring a bond a request for a bond with be individual with them so that they have Clarity on what is the benefits to uh their students in their city and Town's educational uh experience for their communities um so they all have a better understanding but I want to do that oneon-one with individual meetings to get them uh opportunities to be clear about any of their questions and their concerns and so I could also hear their questions concerns be able to address that thank you so just for clarification this is going

to be tabled until we get further information from the superintendent sorry I just had a couple of questions so I'm familiar with the project legislative Bill does that open up to all the location schools across the state or just tail it to us just to us because we're we're one of two schools that was built under special act 1960 the state built two locational schools were one where a lot of the other schools fall under a different pill and don't have some of these difficulties we have so that's why it's going to be tailored to us okay and the other one was the existing building to modify what's there or tear it down and stush looking to modify okay just keep the B okay I tear down renovation I think would be extremely costly yes

but I didn't know what the intent was until tonight you know it would it would not well it doesn't include we don't need a bill for the hanger because it's owned by a municipality so uh it would only be for this particular location um in terms of the bill has to be specific according to what my attorney our attorney said it has to be specific to the location super item not agend on to project oh so reason we put it on today was um we are in desperate need of uh putting on uh redoing our roof on the building on the school and um I was made aware that msba is opening up grof projects on January 12th and um in order for me to put in an application which they call letter of interest

msba before they'll allow me to before they'll give me a a login and a password to do to fill out that application uh we need a vote of the school committee uh recommending that we go through that process and seek funding for uh a new roof which typically takes can take anywhere from two to three years to get final the final process takes between two to three years of first we've got to get in the pipeline and we want to get in that pipeline as soon as we can because we have about 15 16 links in the bo now and to get address and get a on the building as soon as we can so I would just need a a commitment from the committee to file an application with msba and try to get

funding from the state to do that project um which at some point down the road um state would fund probably somewhere between 70 to 80% of the project and the cities and town would have to fund the remainder of the project Pro I believe that putting a new when I was talking to our architects who were working on the hanger project we'd probably be looking at somewhere between 14 and6 million that project and so uh at that time when it comes down to getting the application in the pipeline before msba would approve it cities and towns would have to age to pay their portion so we' have to go for again a bond both from our cities and towns um wouldn't be I would not suspect it would be for a couple of years but

I do want you to understand what that all means i' make a motion to apply all right would you just give me the motion the motion should be to submit a letter of interest correct yes okay made motion any sent okay second discussion um here's the issue um the sooner we get in the pipeline the sooner we get the wrong project depending on where you fall in the pipeline will drive when you get to uh get approved for the project so when we wait we make it push back another year what it takes usually a year just to get in the pipeline once you're in the pipeline then you have to wait your turn which can take another year to two years before you're going to get approval to get the project done so if

we're lucky we'll get funding approved funding from the state in three years U which is a long that's why that's the only reason I bought it tonight was opening up on January 19th was uscri so it really is a question of okay so msba accepts once you put an application in they look at your application and state they look at your application to make a determination is there a real need and do we fall under the guidelines and if they say yes they put you basically on I so the state yes and state which would be State money it's been seconded Mr Mahia yes Mr toox yes M fitgerald yes Mr yes Mr Jones yes Mr yes move on to the principal's report have a hand out in front of youin good evening everyone I

just want to give the committee a few updates on what's Happening um here in the school um we're currently in the early stages of looking at Early College at GRS Technical School uh currently we have a dual enrollment course for our students that um students can take in senior year in English and um Humanities um but we are looking to expand that um early college is one of the uh go strategic goals of the Department of secondary education um one of the things that's been um our discussion and I think you've heard it earlier in the advisory I believe of I think it might have been it mentioned that they were looking to partner with a school for early college so um one of the things that it's really important to us what we talked

about um early college and um postsecondary education if you want to make that our students are not only getting um Early College opportunities for academics but we also want to look into ensure that we look into opportunities where our students can get college credits for the work that they're doing right now in their career area um so that's been part of our um discussion uh so far uh what we've done is we have um we have partnered with uh an organization called education for Alliance they have a lot of experience in uh looking into Partnerships and working uh connecting schools um with um you know secondary education Partners um we also had preliminary focus groups with some of our teachers counselors and students um our next step on focus groups will be bringing in um

a larger group of the counselors as well as we have not um brought in our vocational teachers to talk about uh postsecondary education we want to kind of narrow down what areas we would offer it in um so we're also going to apply for an early college planning Grant we have not done that yet and um the planning Grant is great because that just gives us an opportunity not to commit but to kind of research and find out what the opportunities are um we know that um we're very fortunate here in the area to have some local community colleges that are very accessible for our students as well as uh UMass l we also have um some other great institutions so um although it's early it's really exciting and um you know just from the

the discussions and the small focus groups that we had just hearing about students aspirations and what they want to do um we feel like it's really important also in this process to make sure that we really um partner with um families and caregivers on early college because I think um the education piece for our families is really important because um um you know if you can take some CL college classes during High School those are less that you have to pay for and they're um great so um we're committed to Early College at no cost for our students so whenever whoever we talk to we want to make sure that we're looking for all kinds of grant opportunities um so it's exciting it's going to take a while but um our next steps are to

continue our work with the Educational Alliance um to get more um feedback and input from our our um staff on what they feel like our students would need in terms of support for this um and uh right now as I said right now we have dual enrollment but it's for our seniors and the research shows that the earlier you can talk to students and kiddos about college the better so we'd like to kind of start that conversation and also look at some opportunities even at the junior level um most exciting I think is um hearing um you know on the vocational um um side on the CTE um and what they could do um we're excited that at the same time this happened our health assisting program um is doing a a kind of like

this beta program with Northern Essex where we have 13 of our students that they approached us they're going to be enrolled in some college courses that are going to be free of charge and that's something that we can also expand upon so stay tuned um we also I know you've heard this before and I'm hoping the next time that we meet I will be talking about the launch of our new website but I wanted to get the committee an update on where we are in our redesign of our website um we are partnering with Communications Inc and um they are in the process right now of kind of finalizing the um the back end of our website and um if all goes and stays on schedule we'll be having a presentation to glts and then

they kind of let us see it we do some edting we come back with them um and then in the beginning of February we're going to have testing so we're going to have students family members um members of the coun of of the faculty Council um we're going to be looking out for volunteers for kind of testing it to see um if it's user friendly we want to make sure that it has mobile capability um and so right now fingers cross our targeted launch is mid-February as you know sometimes things take longer once we get into but um we're super excited to kind of get this um underway we know that um our website is one way that we um it's really one of our um Communications for for a prospective students for uh people

that are thinking about um working here at glts as well as uh commun members looking for services so we're excited for that um I also just want to share that um another exciting thing that's happened except it was delayed by one day and the snow on Monday is um our multilingual Learners are taking the access test um so much like mcass access is an on it's a state mandated test and it um measures English language proficiency for our MultiLing Learners and they have to take four um online tests in the domains of listening speaking reading and writing so it's a pretty comprehensive test it's really kind of taxing for someone who's already learning English to take all those tests um um it's also um around it's not just conversational in English it's based on like

academic areas so that's the you know it's kind of like the listening and reading speaking of ela Math Science and History um so we have done a lot of work to you know talk to our students about that we're excited to see how much they've grown in their language uh we have 177 students that will be par participating in this test and um we did build in some bumpers for snow days um so we hope to be completed by the end of the month um on that test we do get the results of the um access test at the end of the year and the access test is part of our um accountability reports so we are measured in terms of how our students grow in their language proficiency um in um so that is

far it's an important part of accountability and finally I want to share something that's exciting that's going on um we have um every the first Friday of every month we have uh lunch and learn um pardon me if I this it's Alo Al Al how do I do someone's got to help me that was close yeah there we go I tried um so what's great about this is this is exactly what it's for we have our some of our students mostly our seniors and juniors that are multilingual Learners we're putting them in the kind of the teaching seat and they come and work it's it's open to all staff um we serve pizza also um and it's almost like a oneon-one where um you can sit and I I sat down with a bunch of

students um and you can they can ask you conversational questions you can answer them um and then um it's been a real nice dialogue and it's been um really rewarding to see uh those students and how like so often they're in the learning spot and at that time they're actually the experts in their own native language um and so they would be able to correct me in that many times so um we have that like the first Friday of the month and we brought it through all of the lunches so any staff member can come up and partner with um a um student or a couple students um and it's been really fun and so we hope to continue that so it's first Friday the month um so that's my report questions I we um

I know obviously this is new um but I love to see if we can get get the admissions process through that is that possible so the on our website yes so we are continuing I believe the website I mean the um admissions process uses goto CTE which is kind of like an application way but I do know that each department has kind of had an opportunity to redesign their page and so one of the things that we're looking to do is in that page to provide some clarity um in terms of like if you want to apply to glts what's step one what to um and things like that so that could be something that we can make sure that that is part of the test that comes through I hope that answered yeah I

mean we can talk about more when are we going to be able to see do the tting I'm be able to see this yes like okay I'll I'll s okay than so the way that the website is managed is going to continue the same way as or is there a specific Department that manages the website um so right now um one of the things that you can do I've learned a lot about websites trust me um and so one of the things you can do is you can have a another like a hosting site we're actually hosting our own website um and we are going to have our technology department um we have one person that will be the primary uh person that um um will be responsible for maintaining the updates and doing that

in a timely manner and that person will be trained um by the company to make the updates I think some of the challenges that we've had um in a couple of years past is it was uh everybody and nobody's like there was more than one person and so we want to make sure there's that that's something that's consistent uh we also um you know you could look at it and say oh you'll just give it a lot of people you know access to update their own own site um pages but the superintendent and I also feel like that's really important to have approval on that and also someone looking at it before you're posting something that you don't that you don't approve of so we'll have one person obviously a backup you should never want

to have one person to do it um but we do have one person that's going to be doing that and we'll also um other things that we've thought about that we haven't um done yet and I have some members of the it it graduates here is um you know we do have an IT and a programming department and so moving forward if there's something that we could um you know use a student in a small capacity of that that's learning the website as a kind of a a small learning experience we'll look into that too and who is that primary person so it would be Cassandra aella and she is our community she does a she's a graphic designer and uh it's part of like the communications that's created so she will be the person

that's right now that we have and that's our tenative plan um and then in terms of backups we will have members of Our IT team so that way in the event there's a you know a snowstorm or there's an important post that we have to get out uh there's not one person if someone's on vacation no it wasn't I was just going to compliment this is progress real progress in terms of our website so I think we have a good website but we don't have a great one and our will you be able to view the website in other languages I know there's a lot of websites that have a lot of language accessibility you can change the language so people in other languages the website um yes and there'll also be some accessibility features

that are built in so in terms of someone if they need color or something there'll be there'll be all types of Universal Design in it too um believe it or not you can do that with our website but the little language thing is on the bottom so a lot of people can't even see it so so can we have that visible oh 100% it's going to be front and center as well as the accessibility button then the other thing for that is one of the things that we found is um you know we thought that we had a lot of things on our website translated but any embed a document so if you have like a PDF that's four five pages any type of translation feature on a website will not translate that so that's

one of the things that's been U painstakingly like it's been a lot of work and it's taken a lot of time because we've taken a lot of our documents that we've had eded and we're making them I'll say the wrong thing it's like web press or something but we're making them so that they'll be translatable so back this early college offering just can you tell me if that's for a specific College state colleges or how many credits can they accumulate that's a great question um as part of U the Department of Education actually has an early college designation that they offer a lot of college a lot of high schools and typically you pick a partner or a partner or multiple like you could have more than one um so um you could be you

could have a a partner like UMass L you could have a marath college you can have Northern essics there's a variety so the superintendent and I are in discussion um in you know trying to talk to see where we want our primary partner so where we want to start off with our primary primary partner and we want to make sure that we're picking someone that's really going to benefit our students and like what's most accessible for how many CR so it depends I think um you know you want to start off small you could offer um I know that I can say like you can you can get depending on how how many courses you offer you could have someone near close to associates degree um so there's not a we probably start off small

and offer um and build upon it right maybe we start with a English course um and then we add different courses but there's not really a limit in terms of courses thank you and one thing I'll to is um just on the shop side some of our um some of our career areas lend themselves to college courses as well as um different other credits um so we're also uh looking to find out from that's why why our next up is to to um you know really talk to our CT areas and also think about like if you what their entry point is because we really are committed to making sure that when our students leave here they're prepared for a job but we also know that a lot of the times that's an entry point

possibly we want to make sure that students know you go back and get an additional training and you can do this you if you if you want to do the next level then you'd have to take college but we want to make sure that we have um you know something that students can can leave here that they can actually use thank you to the committee I seen them old business I seen them yes I'm not two things um and I don't hope it comes under um priorities or new business um I so I'll throw my first thing and if it's in the wrong place I'll put it on the new business um when we were talking about the fields and I noticed today p4,000 fencing which is one of the final steps in the de

that we have spent millions and millions of dollars on and I was wondering if under our revolving accounts if we could separate out the facility rentals into maybe two different things the pool rental is already separate but if we could do the inside the building rentals as one category and the outside the building as another so we could see I know we never did the with the intent of having it be a huge money maker on the other hand we spent all that money in the hopes of recouping some of it um for to keep on going for our students so I either I would like to see in the past say 12 months how much money has been um taken in in field rentals or outside the building rentals versus our CL rentals is

that something that could be done without making more work for Melissa here just two it would be three categories the pool is already separate but the facilities rentals take in everything so if we could separate it out is that a possibility is that like really an awful thing to ask you no okay um and and the other one I think would be on a new business about making sure we can be heard all of the time during our meetings new bus do you want to put that on new business sure sure we can make some recommendations for the next meeting of different spaces we could utilize rather than this particular space that might offer better system make that motion M fitgerald yes yes Mr Jones yes Mr Mia yes Mr yes myen thank you so

much I always I always forget after starting my um so I know and can every time we get advisory recomendations number one is this and the other number two is always concern of concern of many all of us most of us so um it was very brief and we talk about a lot of stuff but I feel we missing some um part of the advisor one is there was one that spoke about what they did or what they accomplished for the year and what was um but I would like to see that as part of one because we don't I mean we keep talking about this I'm I'm not sure I I don't know about the other members that have if any of these space situations has been and I have a feeling that some

of these are the same as so I would like to see that last have a second Mr toox yes mgal M dla yes Mr Jones yes Mr Mahia yes Mr yes what we could do to help you with that is we could add it to our yearly calendar so we don't soar that and I can give you some reports as weish some of recommendations I'll uh try to periodically do a review every three months or so on what we accom to meet theend of many that's on table M I make a recomendation on table M this time we we are in discussion we've had a discussion with the uh leadership team uh to come up with some uh solution we feel is reasonable feasible and uh not over the top that would get people upset

but something that U I think will be uh acceptable to most staff members you're not going to you can't pleas every single person we try to come up with something that's fair Reas everybody but get us to a level of professionalism that stand every particular career area retirements appointments n and job postings iing on proposal to approve the extion moved good job Mr Mr Jones Mr Mia yes Mr tox MGD yes everybody safe travels home tonight because they're LIC once again Mr M thank Mr Jones thank you Mr Mercedes if you still us thank youcome need some signatures than
