002I had a store where we sold these uh but it was just too much work and so uh because I was doing I was fulfilling them myself so if you got in on the early uh early stuff that was me packing it and sending it out but it just wasn't a good use of my time so uh anyway I'm working on a new store so we'll be able to do that so anyway that's cool one thing I always wanna I feel like I I need to clarify what's going on Travis I'm just reading okay you keep going okay clarify just want to clarify uh because I just feel like I I don't want to be telling a story that isn't uh true so I have had uh there's a meme that's been going around about
003me saying that my dad abandoned me I I choke on those words I was even on a podcast the other day and the guy said well your dad did abandon you then with the story that I was sharing it's like I just don't like the word abandon because uh my dad did choose to leave um but he set me up with Rick and so I went and moved in with Rick thankfully Rick took me in Rick and Karen I moved in with them so he when I think of the word abandon I think my dad left me on the street corner somewhere and he didn't it wasn't like that he did choose the you know the that he wanted to do other things and so just felt like I got to clarify that so I've

009memories of our parents stuff that meant something to us and Travis will do it Rick was on it and uh on the podcast a couple weeks ago for actually two podcasts and got into some of that yeah and then uh and then the S is the shout outs we'll probably weave stuff in there but we're thinking that the one thing will kind of take the majority of the time and then we'll do cover those other things so that's what we're hoping to do right so so we'll start with that for this kind of like a podcast uh the p is personal Rick what's going on in your life okay well the highlight of my life uh last week was going to a father-daughter dance with my granddaughter Jacqueline my kid yeah that was awesome and

029sap is healed over the end of it so you want a fresh cut before it goes in the water and I think we went over that and probably in your Christmas day yeah yeah anyway he didn't have a saw so he used a bread knife and as he was using that bread knife you imagine how hard that would have to be to he was pushing so hard he had slipped and he sliced his thumb open really nasty I had to go to the clinic and get stitches and what have you so I bought him a sock so I thought you know a saw is uh and this one here is kind of should fit in your toolbox I I carry one in my toolbox and it's a kind of a uh just a handy song

032yeah April fools it was a really nice no no they didn't see anything good joke okay all right that looks really real it's really good it feels me yeah these guys hey we'll do like this is ever uh redone in 3D [Laughter] so here's my here's my best one uh there was a friend of ours in high school um um she she pranked us pretty good so we us three guys wanted to get her back we made a copy of her uh car key I know it's very car themed and at lunch we we she didn't know we took out of her backpack at lunch we went to the hardware store made three copies put her original one back in her backpack after lunch and then for the next like two weeks we moved her
033car all over campus so we walk out there with her and first it was like a couple of spaces over where she wouldn't notice and then we just got random with it we and we'd walk her to her car she never caught on um a practical joke it's a prank right yeah practical joke so you had one oh yeah did you want to share that or I didn't want to go it was funny to me it's funny to us I it goes on a little bit so anyway when I first started working at the airport um we worked on conveyors and it was uh in the bag well where your luggage goes and it takes away so we're working on those and uh and we noticed this one guy at we were working at night
034this one guy as he would go home he'd walk the same route each time and he would look for uh aluminum cans and stuff in gar you look glance down on the garbage can pull out aluminum cans put them in his bag and walk off so this friend of mine said I got something for that guy tonight so yeah that's some some fishing fishing and so he drilled a hole in the bottom of the garbage can and he tied the fishing line down there when he brought it up and he put drill the holes to the bottom of the tin can tied a nut to it or something and inside that inside that camp and he left it down in there so another guy he took a can and he took put silicone on it
035and he's stuck into a little bull rail thing anyway I just think that the guy would walk by and I'm going to grab that too so um so anyway so it was like we're working away it's like hey he's coming he's coming so here we are a bunch of grown men hiding inside to conveyor looking and watching this guy waiting for him to come and then silly guy 's dinner you know what you want to pull it and it popped out his hand went back in the garbage so he grabs again does it again he grabs are getting credit banging it breaks down and then it goes all over there to the to the other one that was either silicone he grabs it and he just looked looked around [Laughter] so hard that's good oh
036man it's crazy it's a good practice I thought it was funny for us anyway oh that's pretty funny they got a lot of time on their hands at the airport at the airport yeah what how much are you getting paid yeah the money we made rigging that thing up that's pretty good the boss doesn't find out yeah so uh I we were talking before we joined and we were talking about April Fools and I've never been a big fan of April fools honestly but I I think it goes back to so I have uh I'm one of eight kids and I'm number seven and so the older kids I think they've they've kind of perfected their April Fool's pranks by the time I came around and figured yeah we got a new victim here so

051shout out to me for think I offered it to him instead I said shout out to me for saying hey I could take my daughter yeah and it wasn't because Travis watching basketball who's watching basketball no I I thought of it because and here's a shout out to my mom and my dad four uh they really they kind of retired around the same same time uh and so and that's when Jaclyn was born again she's six gonna be seven in June um so she's going you know so so they kind of retire at the same time so they they really took care of her her first uh I'd say three four three to four years before she got into preschool uh and then into kindergarten because you know I'm working full time and and uh
052Jamie's working full-time my wife and so I thought that was a special moment because you guys were cool you guys were able to do all that yeah I really wasn't pawning it off on my dad no no no no no and plus I asked her I said I think if you want to go with yes yes because she said she always says this Dad I like I like you I love Mom but I like you and then and so then for one week for three days she at one point I made her laugh and she was Dad I love you I I do love you and then three days later I annoyed her and she said you're back to like and so I got demoted and at that point I wanted to go to the
053dance store so I said one with me with Papa and she chose Papa oh wow my timing was right it's great it's perfect okay so and then I'll give shout outs uh thank you for everybody thank you for my wife too and helping helping put all this stuff on and putting up with me so there's a lot of stuff to work around here with with everything that's going on because this wasn't again something that was planned and so we're getting our feet under us now that it's three years in and kind of know what to expect but we're grateful for all of you because without all of you yeah this would be nothing I would just be some introvert in a in Washington so uh the question gets asked a lot how can they support

057of my dad um just because I I want to encourage forgiveness I think forgiveness is powerful and I share that on my book too and Rick helped me a lot with that with helped me talk through it and and I talk about coughing up hairballs to get them out and you know so you can get on with your life and and be the best you that you can be right that's what we want we want to be the best you that you can be and you might be uh you know I was on a local TV show and I remember sharing with the host about forgiveness and victimhood and and all that and she kind of I get it because I was there you know she kind of choked on that a little bit about
058forgiveness but I think you know if you can forgive and I've shared this in my in a lot of podcasts that I've been on if you can forgive there's freedom in it for you because you and I and I would just be completely transparent I didn't anticipate that I thought that I had something against my dad and somehow uh by me holding on to that that was uh something that would let him off the hook or something like that right but once I did finally forgive him it was freedom for me you know on the other side of that there was Freedom that I didn't anticipate and so I want you to think about that if there's something that you're holding on to from the past that you you can't do anything about the past
059you can't um and so uh you know you can learn from the past but it's it's um it's amazing that the freedom that you have when you can let go of that and I've also shared you know maybe you've done something that you can't seem to forgive yourself for you've got to learn to be able to let go because you can't do anything about the past you just can't and so you can learn from it and if you have done something that you shouldn't have done and you need to go and ask for forgiveness to somebody you know so anyway I think that's such a powerful thing and that's why I share it that's why I share the story of what I went through I'm sure people have been through way more than I've been
060through you know I'm not going to see some other people in their comments Yeah Yeah from the past right it's like what some of you guys are going through it breaks my heart to read some of them uh but like Robert's saying you know just keep moving forward you do what's right you know don't worry about what other people are doing you do what's right start with yourself and try to do your best yeah and if we can make this kind of a a pact with us and we I think we can make a difference in the world that you know try to encourage people and you know to to be able to forgive I think unfortunately we're going over here but I feel like this is on my heart kind of sharing my heart
061here but I I think that um in the world we're you know when we were younger we didn't have all these distractions of social media and phones and all that and so you really have to be disciplined to put it down and have dinner together right sit around with your family and have dinner together and no phones and connect I think that's so powerful you gotta carve that time out and so if we can you know do our little part and then have this thing grow to where we have an impact on the world right this this channel is worldwide and so I'm still trying to get my head around that but and I you know I do understand that there's different cultures and all that that I can't speak to because but I but
062I do when I married my wife being Filipino it opened up a whole new world to me of her culture and what that looks like and so I do try to try to understand that you know there's people in the world's a crazy Place yeah we're an amazing place I should say it's just you know it's so so massive but anyway I just want to share my heart with you with that because I think uh you know if we can each do our own little part yeah make such a huge difference uh you know might not you might not see it for a while but if we can grow this thing and continue to support each other and encourage each other to try new things and be the best you that you can be right
063you might not feel like I can ah there's so many problems in the world you can't do you know I'm getting huge things but you can make a difference in your little area right in your and start spreading kindness too we've talked about kindness and I think uh people um get confused with being nice and being kind I I struggle with that and I talked about that on the podcast with nice it's good to be nice but you also don't want to be a doormat and be walked on right I look at kindness as more of a choice whether that person deserves it or not or whether you feel like they deserve it or not you can still show kindness to them right they think of meekness and weakness a lot of people get confused
064with meekness because Jesus was meek and so it wasn't weak and so because the words are so close together I think people look at meekness as a as a weakness and really I think meeknesses strength under control where you're you know maybe you have a right to lash out but you choose not to you choose to be kind and have compassion on that person uh so anyway I just I think we could do some amazing things uh and so I wanted to wanted to share that with you yeah and it made me think we're going over quick um also if you've been hurt by uh someone uh when I you know um don't carry that on if your parent wasn't didn't well then I had a quick temper or whatever don't allow that continue to
065the Next Generation stop it if you know it's wrong and don't use that as an excuse you know my dad or whatever no stop that stuff you do what's right and don't use other people's uh mistakes uh to justify your own right um yeah break the cycle break the cycle because you don't make the cycle it's your life right you you get to be who uh who you get to be right this is your life now and the past unfortunately again and it might take you a while it might have to go to therapy you might have to get you know some help to talk through it but um to keep carrying that into the future is just not it's just not helpful because and I shared this again on another podcast this last week
066I was on and it's like it's energy that's being spent spin in that plate keeping that plate spinning while I'm meanwhile I'm trying to do my life oh that's right but I got to keep that plate spinning over here while I'm still navigating my own life and it just takes energy from you that you could be spending on better things or new things or what what have you yeah you kind of it's yeah where's that so and that saying and then we'll wrap this up that saying of uh um unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping it somehow hurts the other person it's very true you know as I can speak to that for myself I've I I did that for the longest time where I was not forgiving my dad and and I I
067think um if you wait for that other person to ask you forgive for forgiveness before you feel like then you can you can forgive may never happen and again in your own best interest it's good to forgive so that you can you can move on and then mate and then in my book I share the story of my dad uh finally at the end near the end of his life he actually asked for forgiveness it was anticlimactic for me and I had people say I thought there was going to be you know well you know I'd already forgiven him um 10 years earlier what or whatever it was but anyway I just want to encourage you with those words because I think that um you know with my channel not only trying to show you
068how to tie a tie or you know do some uh basic things but I want to also encourage you uh in your life to be uh the kind of person that you know you can look back on and I'm so glad I did that you know that I did I made these choices that are different than maybe what the hand I was dealt you know and then now I'm doing the best that I can so I thank you all right be thankful that you did that because it's in your own best interests okay um we need to dispel this myth that I saw somebody that we're all bald well no these are bald caps yeah also I noticed that we look like someone said hey uh the the the guy was a blue shirt glasses
