are we live it looks like it hey rookies first time thanks for joining us we're a little bit early so we'll wait till six before we really get started but just thought we'd jump on jump on for those of you guessed bob ross you're correct bob ross kind of huh it's bob ross you can really tell the hype hey whoa [Laughter] thanks for joining us this is awesome this is super fun thanks for spending your evening i can you can oh my gosh this is so exciting we got about three more minutes so i'll get started so get your pumpkins out your little carving scoopies oh my goodness hi everybody you guys are awesome thanks for joining us this is really sweet i can't read it fast enough oh yeah for those of you asking
i am his daughter i'm not a random stranger yep and that picture on uh instagram was me uh when i had hair with my red sweats yes my embarrassing red sweats i'm sure they were cool for the time right that was like 80s 90s 90s was that like zebra pants time too yeah wrote my zebra fans yeah you guys got to see my zebra pants that was also embarrassing i didn't know those photos made it to where are all his daughters yes well you guys are awesome what time were we at we got about two more minutes let's make sure everybody gets here so i can't read it fast enough [Laughter] give it a couple more yeah we're going to sing happy birthday to somebody right i think are we going to sing i just
was going to say i think we're singing happy birthday we're going to get everybody to join in [Laughter] and maybe my wife will make an appearance tonight oh my mom is standing in the back oh man oh you guys are awesome these guys are so kind got about one more minute i'm gonna let you all again people are asking for mom to make an appearance oh mom he's shaking her head this thing is hot do you roast the pumpkin seeds we do roast the pumpkin seeds we do and we made some ahead of time so i was going to show you that as well yes i don't think i eventually fruit guys are fantastic about 30 seconds left are you do we try to do we attempt to read something no i'm doing my best
hi honorable ellis please mention me i got it [Laughter] spaceball come on daughter my mom is over there okay we are at six o'clock today it's gonna start happy birthday i am sriracha yes all right i'm bob ross in case you're wondering a few people guessed that so awesome all right so what are we doing oh so we want to start by saying well first thank you yeah thank you for being here this is awesome uh pretty pretty amazing pretty hungry yeah pretty fun yeah so but what we do want to emphasize please be careful you know we're dealing with knives here we we got some uh some pumpkin carving kits so that we don't hurt ourselves really um i normally do this with a kitchen knife but for safety reasons we're gonna use these
and i actually carved a pumpkin earlier let's see them back here yeah and they work actually pretty well a surprise they look like a toy but they actually worked okay so um what else uh this is our first live so please please be gracious actually we should be looking here so please be gracious to us right um anyway you don't know how many takes it takes me for some of my videos so you might find out tonight uh so i do have i do have a dad joke for you but where are we gonna say something mention the thing about what happened earlier do we need to we yeah so what do you call it when you drop your pumpkin a squash [Laughter] so uh and happy birthday to at megan brett three dot three
yeah dot three are we gonna sing to her you're the one that's volunteering i can like do you guys wanna sing to to megan i see some people saying sure oh no okay thank you oh no oh the immediate yes yes okay one two three happy birthday to you happy birthday to you at mega breath.3 happy birthday to you and many more okay so awesome we wanted to mention too in case you didn't know um i'm actually on instagram and facebook at dad how do i i think most of you guys know that but just in case so yeah uh so that's how we knew about the birthday so oh tonight too if you can tag us with your pumpkin creations either on instagram or facebook with at dad how do i or hashtag dad
how do i that'd be awesome so then we can share your wonderful awesome pumpkin creations and see what ears come up with and then maybe we can share them to our pages yep yep was there anything else that was the main thing okay yeah i think we'll get started just so we don't have this thing going on and on awesome i think there's people joining us i think somebody said from the uk right what time is it there i don't know like two in the morning or something so okay wow thank you daddy okay we'll read that that's not what we're doing okay so here's how you do it you just start for the top and one of the tricks i always do what our director my my wife is directing what safety we we're
going to mention cb matching safety again we're messing with tools here so sharp tools or at least you might have sharp tools we have these things yes with plastic handles so hopefully we're gonna actually get through the pumpkin with these but we're just emphasizing safety i said that in some of my other videos too with the jack you know that still haunts me don't ever get under a car that's jacked up by a scissor shack okay so same thing here we're emphasizing safety so much just want to make sure my kids stay safe right so anyway so when you start you just kind of you stick it hopefully you guys got some pumpkins that you're gonna do this along with us so what i normally do too is um when i do it so these
things actually work fairly well i just poke it right in oh my gosh these are kind of neat and then you gotta it's a little bit of work without a kitchen knife but i work it around but one of the things i always do on mine is i find out where the face is gonna be right how is that how you doing huh well i know where the face is first okay and then i put a notch on one end i'm like on the back side so i know where the lid goes so that way you're not fumbling with the lid it's not that big a deal but you don't have to keep spinning the lid around to make sure that that fits okay or where it fits so you always make sure it's in
the back i always just do it in the back i put it just wherever a circle oh here's another thing too if you've never done this before you want to kind of do it at a bit of an angle right at an angle because i did this when i was a kid if you go straight down what's gonna happen that top's gonna fall right through right so we need to go at an angle so that that lid can fit right on the top okay and i normally just kind of do it and run in square runs i'm working my way across and then i turn i go here you don't have to keep it as a circle necessarily i'm not falling i'm so sorry i'm doing it my own way okay and hers is going
to fall right down in because she's not paying attention i'm at an angle really i'm going around though i spin my pumpkin what'd you say mom so hopefully the rest of this doesn't take as long as this part so anyway gosh i'm already sweating power tools how did you get the other one i'm so fast i'm also wearing a beanie i can help i'm almost there my hair is i'm not used to this insulation on my head so it's been a while since i had hair okay so there we go and see how i got that notch there i put a notch in the back so that way i know where it goes so i'm not spinning it around it just fits right in right okay did you want to separate or are we just
doing it we'll just do it all together so normally what we do is we normally have two bowls because we save the seeds for um for baking them later so i normally try to pick off the seeds and kind of put the seeds in one let's let's try to do that we're going to separate them yeah okay see the seeds here that's good most of the seeds because there's a lot of this other gunk that you don't want okay yes don't cut and look away please watch where you're cutting put that down okay and surprisingly this tool this little tool here i was making fun of it when i got it earlier but it actually works really well for scraping inside there because if you use a big spoon and you're trying to get the
big spoon in there to get it off it doesn't uh you can't get that handle of the spoon in right so so this thing actually works really good just fit right inside and then you just scrape around are we supposed to be interacting with you guys where are you all from oh ice cream scooper i'm sure that's yeah that would work good ice cream scooper right okay so there's the the nasty mess so you want to try to if you can south africa really oh my goodness nice indonesia arkansas portugal wow kentucky nice philippines hey philippines korea oh my gosh you guys are awesome poland los angeles australia holy moly australia louisiana i was born in louisiana australia canada oh my goodness you guys are amazing bahamas scotland well thank you for watching well to
speed this along i'm not going to separate the stuff we might be here until tomorrow if i do we can separate it yeah but the seeds are awesome if you haven't uh cooked pumpkin seeds before do you all roast pumpkin seeds do you have any favorite seasonings if so spain mexico brazil argentina oh my goodness what switzerland george i see wow guys incredible sweden whoa peru guatemala there's really actually nobody watching we're just listening random countries this one is too many pumpkins my mom really wanted we live by uh what is it i mean it is a pumpkin patch farm yeah so we're getting close here i am filipino i'm half filipino my mom is from the philippines yes uh she grew up in the philippines and ilocos norte do you want to make it
do you want to make an appearance morocco oh i don't know i almost scraped i'm almost there i just have a bunch of seeds at the bottom that scooper does work really well it does i know it's surprising i think we're pretty good so you're not gonna come did you guys dress up oh yeah what are your costumes everyone's feeling like mom everybody's yelling mom everybody's going mom come on mom come on you just got to come over and say hi you don't need to stick your hand in the pumpkin you say hi you gotta get in there she is there's mom here's mom thanks for popping did you wanna say hi oh thanks for watching she's a little camera shy we're going to do a christmas one coming up and she's going to be
involved with that when we're decorating so that's going to be that'll be fun yeah there's a lot of fun things we do got some cool things actually that's one of the things we do want to talk about that we got some cool things coming up around the holidays so hopefully you'll be able to join us for those so i'm just about good christine yeah we are going to do christmas cookies we are going to do christmas cookies yeah my mom used to make some amazing christmas cookies and so i've kept that tradition up all these years so i'm going to show you how to do that i think i'm pretty good do you want a paper towel yeah thank you yeah i think i'm pretty much good i just have a little bit of seeds
at the bottom all right cool i'm a a death eater from harry potter maybe somebody else should read let's try oh four um costumes yeah okay i got it i thought you were just what other costumes do we have kool-aid that is amazing my mom is philippines she's filipino yes well russia 4am oh my goodness wow that's awesome oh you're wiping yours down i probably should yeah okay so now we're ready to draw the face on there um we have permanent markers it's kind of nice to have an erasable marker but we didn't have any um so the thing when you do this is you want to draw it and you want to um when you cut it you want to remove the line right so so that you're not left with black lines there
so you might want to draw it a little bit smaller than what you actually want to cut out okay oh dinosaur i was looking at that too i think i'm gonna you're doing something simple right i'm gonna do something so okay you can do something no i'm just gonna do i think just like shapes for eyes i think i'm gonna give him some teeth or something i'm gonna have one tooth on the bottom let me give them a couple it's so hard to draw on the side of them are you guys having fun it's nice how about that kind of kind of dorky but that's almost nine oh oops but yours looks good no yours looks good where's your nose i don't i don't like a nose on a pumpkin okay so now we're ready
to do that awesome same thing so like i said if you just made it smaller you just cut it out now that way you don't leave the black there come on hopefully you don't need to see this i don't know does this help i think so these things are pretty pretty what harmless yeah i mean if you're using a kitchen knife please like don't put your thumb here and be going like this because then if you slip you know hurt yourself these things probably i don't know how they can cut through the pumpkin but it'd be pretty hard to cut through yeah i think i'm gonna make it a little bit of a bigger eye hmm yeah i kind of want it to be a little bigger oh it's getting away from me i know
sometimes it goes in a direction of its own [Laughter] there we go so we're going to talk about some of the stuff we're going to be doing while we're doing this or we're going to sure we can't oh no we can keep going i just when i'm using a knife and yeah i want to make sure i'm not going to hurt anything um do you any does anyone have any favorite yes i don't know if you do or don't celebrate halloween fall candies i guess if you do trick or treat i guess you're a lot of people aren't trick-or-treating this year but yeah it's tough here isn't it yeah a lot of things we're gonna have to do differently unfortunately twix yeah do you have a favorite candy bag i like twix i like uh
almond joys i love almond juice those are good [Laughter] i like what do i like don't say butter fingers but i don't know if anything i like kit kat milky ways those are good oh can't do you like candy corn i like candy corn kinda yeah a couple [Music] crunches are good okay let's take some time yeah lots of dad jokes we did a dad joke do you have anymore do i have any more i'd have to think um does anyone else roast their pumpkin seeds and if so what do you put on like how do you cook it kind of oh someone's asking what kind of um [Music] music what kind of music do you have what music do you listen to kind of music okay someone's asking love switch foot switch what's my
favorite brand our band it's my favorite brand of bands um i like uh need to breathe too you need to breathe is awesome when i was younger i liked sticks sticks was my favorite band growing up um it just shows how old i am and i used to go see you know all the famous bands uh van halen and and yeah yeah rush i saw all the all the things like in concert in concert yeah springsteen saw springsteen a few times too so oh wow well i knew that actually about pretty spring season yeah yeah yeah even though i saw van gaal i don't think i did and eddie van halen just died recently it's kind of sad so um i'm just about done i'm almost there this mouth really got away from me mom's
gonna make it too complicated roasted pumpkin seeds tossed in hot sauce oh you know what i was thinking that everything bagel seasoning i think that would be really good yeah somebody just said uh do a dad how do i for the pumpkin seeds we've got a fairly full schedule do we with some of the stuff we got coming up but i might do the pumpkin seeds because i did um i did some pumpkin seeds earlier and uh yeah i think i got a pretty good recipe for him and yeah my son-in-law he he's here too yeah should we have him come over here anybody wanna [Music] [Laughter] okay that was enough we got our two camera shy spouses [Laughter] ryan's awesome he's a great young man so he's five yeah uh yeah so we're i'm
pretty much good i just want to remove some of the strings from them so one thing too um i was just thinking of some of the stuff we got coming up i want to show how to make pumpkin pie too because i i've always made pumpkin pie every thanksgiving and i i think i got a pretty good recipe for that it's you know i used the canned pumpkin but i also got my own little special twist twist to this and i usually make my crust by by hand too but um it's a lot of work so i don't know if i'm gonna do that for the video it's up to you anyway so where are we at i'm set yeah yeah here's that so what are we doing now did oh did we oh there
are tea lights right there yeah so if we wanted to yeah so we thought this thing was going to take maybe an hour but we we cruise right through it but we'll stay and talk to you guys yeah but now we can actually interact a little bit all right so the tea light what oh at eyebrows i think i'm okay i'm sweating pretty bad yours came out good yeah now what do you guys think oh it's got a little bit of slobber hold on oh can't take him anywhere all right all right so what did i do to get that off i think i used the scraper oh that's smart [Music] mom says hi mom's phone says hi oh do you like any filipino food i like olympia and i like pancit and i like
paradise deuce and chicken adobo i'm not a big fan of chicken adobo and here's the reason why um because it's usually made with bones and i'm mama's as far as i'm concerned chickens you don't come with bones do they or no anyway i've gotten so used to this i've gotten so used to boneless chicken that i you know anyway i like to eat i don't like to pick at my food anyway i said bounce it yeah ponzi oh what else what else do you normally make [Music] oh come on all right let's see are you in the usa yes yes yes we're in uh washington state yeah up in the northwest love you dad oh that's nice i love you guys you guys are so incredibly kind and supportive very very grateful northeast washington somebody
says oh do people eat this kind of pumpkin or is it only used for halloween decorations um i think you can eat it we um this type of pumpkin called the sugar pumpkin is what they normally use for to to make pie and i'll actually be using this this is one of the things that i do um i'll actually show you how to cook it because then i scrape that out and i mix it in with my with my pumpkin pie because it gives it more texture because the stuff in the can is so how do you say the word pure pureed period yeah puree that it's kind of it's almost too smooth and so i like to add some of this in too because it adds texture to it so there it is and
there you go yeah did you already light yours i didn't light it yet did you want to talk about the pumpkin seeds oh yeah so are we going to make a video about that do we want to we want to it's do you guys want would that be helpful for a video on how to roast pumpkin seeds why do we have so many pumpkins that's my wife that's my um so we go and buy a couple pumpkins and then she says we need more pumpkins and then we go back and buy more pumpkins and then she says oh i think we still need some more pumpkins and so then we go and buy more pumpkins so that's why we have so many pumpkins a lot of people do want a pumpkin seed video so you
roasted some earlier today so you can just if you want to show i can show you yeah and my dogs are fighting now too so here yeah oh that's right the camera yeah so what i do with it is i um but i can show you how to how to make them um because you need to separate them there's a tricks to that too but you um i boil them actually in butter just a small amount of butter so that they got something for the salt to stick to and then i top it with johnny seasoning and then i bake it at 400 for about 15 minutes and good stuff so dogs what are their names dog's names are squiggy if again dating myself um so he had a like a jerry curl on the
front of his face you can bring it squeaky no you know it's fine we gave him a haircut so he doesn't really have the jerry curl but when we first got him he had a jerry curl he has a cherry eye to the poor guy but he had a a jerry curl on the front and so if you're from uh my era there was a show called the vernon shirley and there was lenny and squiggy and squiggy was this small guy that would come in and he was kind of a nerd um anyway so so that's what i did to my dog i made him feel inferior so they're rescued they're rescue dogs though yeah so we like to do that we've had i can't pick up low level it's too big yeah we've had
uh four or five dogs um since the kids were little and we always get them at the pound just because we want to figure it's the right thing to do so do you paint do i paint uh the house i've painted the house i don't paint i uh in your costume even though your costume so today you paint well i'm pretending to be a painter today because the trees favorite movie someone asked too favorite movie uh [Music] what's your favorite movie i have the princess bride oh princess bright is awesome i love that i also like school of rock but that's like will rock's good yeah i like school rock i like the lord of the rings series too um because i can watch that several times over i think because i pick up something
new each time any car videos of what sort bob ross yes oh they're coming fast and furious now oh gandalf for halloween that's really cool gandalf nice yeah so we did a parody at church uh many moons ago and i dressed up as gandalf there's a dad joke for you there yeah and my friend actually said he called instead of calling me gandalf the gray he called me can't golf that great ah that's pretty funny well in the basketball team you need to pass oh well i don't know if people would get that that's kind of here and no it's not that it's so let's see any book recommendations for book club i mean lord of the rings favorite video you've made so far oh that's a great question do you have a favorite well
so um i've had people ask me that in interviews and i think i always go back to the tie just because uh that was the one that kind of kicked everything off and um yeah it's kind of kind of but the thank you video and the you know i i look back at some of that stuff and when my life blew up because like i've shared um i ha i didn't plan on this being what it is i i was scrambling to try to get my head around everything and so it was uh i was pretty emotional when i look back at some of them i'm like oh my goodness it's a little bit cringy um how uh emotional i got and so anyway yeah yeah sorry uncle rick just commented uncle rick's here kenny
related to you [Laughter] yes adam kenny is related to me he taught you everything you know as bob ross right yeah yes happy little trees awesome oh i haven't had a dad in 10 years i'm sorry about that you know my heart goes out to you um have you seen the new borap movie nope you guys someone asked watching the mandalorian yeah actually we're talking about watching the mandalorian when we're done here so because this was i'm a big fan nerve wracking oh love you guys too yeah i love you what made you want to i think you answered make this youtube channel oh my gosh how tall okay how tall are you because someone asked that too if i'm just extremely short or if you're just extremely tall and it's both yeah yeah i'm
six well you know i'm getting old so i'm shrinking uh i was six three at one time i'm six two now really you lost an inch well i don't know maybe i exaggerated when i was younger uh yeah i'm six six two so oh wow yeah and you're i'm five three yeah on a good day okay dc comics are marvel do you have a preference probably marvel marvel the whole marvel series someone's asking like the pumpkin already huh are we killing you enough with the chitchat do we have the lighters right behind you do you light i light it just in the the thing i just stick the lighter yeah or do you okay yeah you go ahead i put the thing down inside there so sweet so so let me just show you this
too like i said so let's see how that you don't have to spin this thing around wondering where it's at you just put that little notch in the back is this oh it should be working you might have to here you go you might it's okay you might have to come through the front oh because it's at an angle oh you got to hold this down girl while you're at it okay that is an intense light thank there they are you can't really tell oh yeah do you want to shut the lights off real fast i think i should yeah um i think just like yeah here can you really tell i would say maybe the front one thanks honey oh look at that [Laughter] nice oh good spooky nice they look good they're friends
now is there anything else we wanted to share with these folks um we can wrap it up yeah at 6 30 so it's right around the 30 minute well do they want us to we can hang around for a little bit longer i thought we were going to take a little bit longer to do this but we can answer maybe a few more questions and then yeah is there anything else next yeah we can name the pumpkins frank gus frank and guess frank and gus franken let's see will you do you have done grilling videos someone was asking i did do a grilling video yep so you know every time i do a video i think i could have included that or it could have included that and sometimes i've done videos too where i
think people don't even know that some of the stuff is actually hidden within the video like when i did the um and that was early on when i was i didn't know what i was doing i still don't but um when i was doing the how to check the air pressure in your tires there's a lot more to that video if you actually dig in you actually it'll show you how to um look at the size of your tire and how to determine how much air to put in it and what the size of the tire what those numbers mean on the size of your tire so i've actually been thinking that maybe i should split up some of those videos for you because i i think i included too much content and people have
asked about the sheetrock screws too that i that i use um but that's hidden in the the one on how to hang a shelf and so anyway i've been trying to think about that you can chunk some of them apart maybe and share them like on instagram and things yeah anyway because i want the content you know when i started this channel i thought i was gonna and like with the tie it was only a couple minutes because you know i've gone to youtube and i've shared this on in some of my interviews i've gone to youtube and you know you have so many bells and whistles going off and you got 20 minutes worth of video you got to watch to get your nugget and so i thought i was going to make short
videos that was original right i said let's just try to make them you know two or three minutes long um but some just don't allow for that and so um anyway my drill video i think was 30 minutes 30 minutes long but i included a lot right so i want you to be able to know all the different things that a drill can do so that's that's why totally yeah so awesome yeah favorite halloween movie you know i'll be honest with you i'm i'm not a guy that likes scary movies i like uh what's the fun one that i like the aha the pun the one with all the puns in it do you guys know the one i'm talking about there's a one with a whole bunch of puns i just i was gonna
say come on somebody adam kenny love you love you too adam what's the name of that movie with those two guys oh i know what it is tucker nail versus tucker and dale versus evil that's my favorite halloween movie love it i haven't seen it so long oh that's a great movie i recommend that i was gonna say something like it's the great pumpkin charlie brown there's not much there's not much of a commitment there at least it's a half hour and yeah it's really 22 minutes because all the commercials yeah um thanks rick rick says i look good in in my wig nice all right we should probably make a few announcements and wrap things up here um okay coming up in november december unless you wanted to answer some of these no i'm
just trying to read them okay sorry i mean we can answer something a little bit yeah we did want to cover a few things so um yeah the pumpkin seeds will end up doing that uh okay so we one thing that's actually really cool and i don't want to uh we don't spoil it we don't want to spoil it but i've got a special guest that's going to come on um and teach you how to do something and what i'm gonna hope to do and i've actually had a couple fairly famous people reach out to me uh to come on my channel um and show you how to do stuff because you know i know how to do a lot of things but i not necessarily the best that everything yeah as you can tell
by watching my videos uh and so i think if we can we're going to try to start reaching out to some people and have them come on and show you how to do some cool things so people that you respect and admire for a while yeah so that's pretty exciting yeah so looking forward to that that'll be fun yeah uh are you gonna talk about that or um oh and then looks like we've been getting a lot of that's right the camera's over here mom's reminding me um we've made a lot of recommend in our recommendations requests that's the word we got a lot of requests for the shirts that dad wears in his video um the be good to yourself or that you got this so we're gonna launch a merch store soft launch
just to see if y'all if you are interested please comment and let us know um so that'll be coming mid november um is there anything else holiday videos yeah we got some holiday videos but i think we've said that we're gonna do so we're gonna take you to a tree farm and cut down a christmas tree and then bring that back that'll be that'll be fun we're gonna do the um christmas cookies too show you how to do that i'll probably do that as a live too so you can cook christmas cookies alongside us yeah yeah my mom has an amazing recipe yes so it's really good again like i said earlier i want to keep that tradition going okay uh we're gonna do pumpkin pie now we gotta squeeze that in so we've got
several things kind of happening and then we're also reaching out to a few vendors uh you know i've got i get people asking me all the time that to come on as to sponsor me and i've shared that with you before that i i don't want to be an infomercial i only want to work with companies that make sense uh that you guys would uh that i would recommend to my own kids right and so that's why i did the simply safe and i've done lows and anyway i've got you would be surprised how many people want me to sponsor or to want to sponsor me um but i don't think you know i don't i don't want to be an infomercial but when the right ones come along i want to do that and
then when those come along too uh you know we want to be able to give back so we actually um got a couple few couple giveaways that we're going to be doing around christmas we're trying to figure out what that's going to look like but we're yeah through instagram or through youtube right by the way christine is a huge help in all this so she does a lot of stuff behind the scenes i know i've shared that a little bit before but this thing wouldn't have started without christine she she made it happen encouraged me to do it so hopefully i don't get emotional but um anyway so it wouldn't happen without christine's help and then she also runs instagram and facebook and so to be honest with you i didn't even have a facebook
before i only have a facebook just so i could see what she's doing on facebook and i still don't even i still don't even know what i'm doing uh so anyway um she's amazing awesome now you're making me yeah it's halloween okay awesome yeah so we're excited to set that up for giving back to you all you all been so amazing and kind and it's been really sweet to see how kind they've been to you yeah yeah you guys have been more than kind you know um and i'm still trying to navigate what the future looks like i got some amazing opportunities coming up and so we'll see what let's see what happens you know i do have kind of a surprise coming out next year but i can't i'm not really supposed to say
