[Music] foreign [Music] good morning and welcome to the Greenfield school committee policy subcommittee meeting on September 7th meeting at 11 01 a.m we'll start with the roll call um Amy here Elizabeth here and I'm Glenn and I am here so we have a Quorum all are present um first item what what happened oh I see um we have public comment I don't see any members of the public here um approval of minutes from the July 6 2023 meeting take a motion to approve those minutes I moved and is there a second second any discussion would people like a moment to review them I'm not hearing any so let's call for the vote um Amy yes Elizabeth yes and I'm a yes so next is review of policies KF and kf-r Community use of school facilities

um we approve this on first reading at the last school committee meeting um there been any changes updates or feedback since the last meeting Christine yeah mute myself so you don't hear me typing away but sometimes I can't unmute um no there's been no conversation at all since the last meeting not the most controversial policy in the world do any members have any feedback or changes there are questions related to the policy Elizabeth I just had a question I was hoping Christine could confirm so when we're looking at these and the the red appears and some are crossed out is that because we're removing old language or we're updating to current mask language I I know you told me this before but I can't remember so you have the you have the markup in front

of you yeah yeah so anything that's crossed is things that were basically this is not necessarily a mass policy it's um Lauren and I reviewed based on what we encounter as challenges with our current and also the fact that the rates that you folks already approved the new rates were not covering the district's expenses for staff who needed to be there so it's really um truthfully Lauren and I looking to have the policy reflect what protocols we need to do building use efficiently oh okay that's good to know so all right okay so I might need a few minutes to just yeah I think it's familiar and forgive me with with the zoom on and the minutes up I don't have the markup of this up so you might have to read to me if

you have a question okay I'm happy to share my screen too if we know that he's the looking Elizabeth no I'm done I didn't know if I was the only one looking but I'm complete thank you all right um any further discussion questions or comments are we ready to vote to advance this to the full committee for the second reading sounds like we're ready uh Amy uh we uh did we have a motion I'm sorry yeah um I I can do it I I move that we approve the um policy as presented to the committee uh and bring it to the full school committee for second reading great thanks and um is there a second okay I think we've established there's no discussion so let's vote um Amy yes Elizabeth yes and I'm a yes

um great so thanks team I have some other policies we've been working on but I haven't Advanced those to The Next Step so hopefully in October for this and uh thanks Christine for continuing to Shepherd us through our policy changed its work do you have um any updates for us on the overall overhaul of the um of the policies and where we are and what's next yeah I'm um getting back into that I have some dates identified on my calendar to review the next sections and I think um I think we shared this but in in case not um Glenn and I had spoken previously about the fact that some of our um acceptable use policies are sort of holding up uh section I being complete so we're going to bring section I to the

full committee I believe October will is very reasonable um knowing that those few policies will still have to be updated but they're complicated um and we'll need the attorneys to be involved and so it seems like we're I'm holding up a train because of you know one small thing so I expect that would be on the agenda for the full Committee in October and then um you know moving along we're we're down to I think the last three sections they're just big yeah they happen to be big sections they are so um but no that's one of the priorities and I actually have those things in my calendar to review the sections okay great thank you all right well with that unless there's anything else I would take a motion to adjourn move to a

journey and is there second out second any discussion let's vote Amy yes Elizabeth yes and me I'm a yes thanks everybody for making thank you so yeah we keep the train running okay yeah bye-bye Mike [Music]
