My name is My name is Rob Treyber. I am calling this meeting of the ad hoc advocacy committee to order at 606 on March 11th. Um, and uh, we're going to go around and do introductions. And I am seeing uh, that's Tim. Okay. So, uh, I'm going to go always to my left. So, we would ask you to introduce yourself and explain sort of why where you come from, I guess, is the best way to say it. >> My name is Jason Papa. I am a school counselor at Fairchild Wheeler here in Bridgeport. I've been an educator here in Bridgeville for 23 years. And uh is that all we're looking for or is there any other information you're looking All right, there you go. >> Hi, my name is uh Joe Degro. I'm the band

director at Central High School and I am also the uh until June 30th the secondary vice president of the Bridgeport Education Association. And nobody does translate but he won't say >> yes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. My name is Israel Perez. Three kids to school. Elementary. Yeah. Yeah. the bridge. uh Faith Vijas, executive director of the Bridgeport Public Education Fund, but also a resident, a parent of alum, and also an alum of the Bridgeport Public Schools. So that is why I am here tonight. >> Hello, my name is Injinara Chri and I am a senior at Fairchild Wheeler and I'm here as a student representative. Jason Feny, one of the uh the assistant principal at Fairchild Wheeler campus. [clears throat] >> Uh I'm a student at Bridgeport Military Academy. uh and I'm a resident at Bridgeport

>> and having called the meeting to order as chair, I should say I um I have I started as a parent activist in the 90s. My daughter started school in 93. I became a Bridgeport teacher in 2001. I retired as a Bridgeport teacher in 2020. And now I'm on the board of ed. Um, and during that time I served as a member of the Bridgeport Education Association, an officer of the Bridgeport Education Association, and we've all met at different times working together to try and make our Bridgeport schools better. So, do I have anybody on the um Sam online? Tim, you want to introduce yourself here, please? My name is Tim Graie. I am the communication leazison for the school district. My name is John Carlo. I work in the communications department for Bridgeport Public

Schools. I have a legal technicality. So I am going to um We don't have a legal meeting without a quorum. >> This is an ad hoc committee. Um, and as I said, uh, to these folks over here, normally Marissa Esther Mara Jimenez would be here, but she flew to Puerto Rico today because her grandmother is sick. Um, and uh, Mr. Sakalavvic who's normally here is at the Democratic Town Committee meeting as a member of the committee. Um and Mr. Medina I assume is there although he has he could be here just as well. So without at least two members of the board here, we don't have a quorum. Um and so this is not a legal meeting in the sense of having a quorum. Um but we're not going to take business so we can

continue the meeting as a community meeting. Um, but it won't be a legal meeting. >> So, hold on one second while I try and cover my legal self. going to recess. >> Okay, we had recessed briefly because we don't have that second person to have a quorum. I'm going to adjourn the meeting and we're going to continue our discussion informally uh as a public quorum. Uh so I have adjourned this meeting officially because we don't have a quorum and if one of them calls in then we can formally the only formal action we would have taken tonight would have been uh to uh vote to uh approve the minutes. So otherwise, we're going to uh continue our discussion of things we can be doing to uh move the ECS forward. Did you get a copy

of the agenda and the Okay, you want to introduce yourself?
