The right direction. That's a good sign. All right. >> Yep. >> Okay, so we're up to noon. Okay. Good afternoon. It is 12:05 and we do have a quorum. Um please join me for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. I salute the flag of the state of New Mexico, the Zia symbol of perfect friendship among United cultures. Act. Um we don't have anybody here, Mr. David. That's about it, but recognition of uh uh guest and staff and patrons, so you are all those today. Um do we have a uh item two, consent agenda. Do we have a motion to consent agenda? >> I move we consent

the meeting agenda. >> Okay, we have a motion. Do we have a second? >> Second. >> We have a motion now and a second. All in favor say I. >> I. Um motion passes. Item three, business. 3A, approval of new position, second in person speak second in person speech language pathologist. >> So we were able to interview we posted one position initially and now with that we had two applicants and we went ahead and interviewed both of them and we believe both of them are qualified and would do a really good job with us. We already paid our EC for these positions. We just don't have them in house. So this would move them from the REC to us having employees of our own. Um some notes I want you to know is currently this

last year we spent $512,138 on speech language pathologists. >> Okay. >> With these two people in which they have more than zero years of experience, so we have one with 17 and one with four years of experience, it would cost the district $288,529. >> Okay. >> That includes um their insurance if they choose family, um with a savings of $220,609. >> Wow, that's >> So, pretty significant, plus they're here in person and that to me is a a big plus for our kids. That also helps um as we partner with our community um the Head Start as well as our early learning center here um that we would be able to provide the speech services to those kids as well in person versus virtually. So, we would um connect with them and have a MOU

in place so we could service those kids as well. >> Nice. >> Wow, that's very nice. >> That 220K is including benefits? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> 220 or 288? >> 288. >> No, I heard savings of 223. Here we go. >> Um and we don't have to follow any kind of process since we just posted one position versus >> So, we will we'll post it for another three days, but I wanted to make sure that very transparent like we were only going to start with one cuz we were very unsure if we could even get one applicant. Um and so when we got two very qualified applicants, we'll have to post another position, open it up um for three days, which I'm going to be gone all next week, so we'll open it up

for the entirety of next week, and then we'll hire based after that. >> And that covers our entire caseload, yes? >> That covers the entire caseload. >> Plus the addition of adding Head Start and the early childhood >> Yes, correct. >> Nice. Cuz those students already come walk over and receive online service at our school. But it takes daycare workers to walk them over and some one of our employees to walk them back. >> And so now this person would just be able to >> Mhm. This does not include the savings from an EA that we have sit in these online classrooms. >> Oh, well. >> So there's extra savings that we've not calculated into that. This is just the savings on salary alone. >> And that doesn't hinder our relationship with REC any does

it? >> I mean, do they probably want the majority of them, but they contract them as well. So they don't have very many that are employees. And I mean they do have one that we currently have, but they have contracts with all of the Valley schools. So >> Sounds good. Um, anything else? Any questions or Okay, do we have a motion on the floor? >> I move that we approve the second in person speech pathologist. >> Okay, we have a motion. Do we have a second? >> I'll second that. >> Okay, we have a motion and a second. All in favor say I. >> I. Uh, motion passes unanimously. Uh, items item five, no, four actually. Um, adjourn. Do we have a motion? >> I I move to adjourn. >> Okay, we have a motion.

Do we have a second? >> Second. >> Motion and a second. All in favor say I. I. Motion passes unanimously as well. Thank you guys. Appreciate it. All right, let's do it.
