like to call this meeting to order. Let's uh rise for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Could I have a roll call, please? Madam chair, we have a quorum. Do we have any adoptions or changes to the board agenda? >> Yes, we do. We need to add an executive session. Okay. Anything else? >> Madam chair, I would move we adopt the agenda as amended. >> Second. >> All those Any discussion? All those in favor? >> I say. >> Okay. We're moving on to the consent agenda. Approval of the minutes of the January 27,2026 meeting. Consider payment of bills including late pays and pre-authorizations of pay
payroll, insurance, utilities, officials, and automatic payments. Adopt amendment policy 1190, participation at board meetings. Policy 4115, school sponsored field trips and activities. Policy 6137, treatment of headlights on second reading. Madame Chair, I would move that we accept the consent agenda as a as presented. >> I second. >> Any discussion? >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Anybody oppose? >> Okay, Tracy, you're up. Good evening. >> Good evening. >> Board of trustees. Um I just have a real short bill here. Um just I come before you tonight just to give you an update of the transportation department. Not a whole lot going on, just uh staffing. Um we are fully staffed this year with uh two substitute drivers. So, that's nice. Um, we've been pretty blessed with the non-existent winner. Thank God. Kind of been
nice. In fact, I don't think Have any of you seen it like this in February, >> have you? >> Not for a long time. >> Not in years. >> I don't remember. >> How long a time? >> Yeah. >> No. >> When were you born? Well, I I actually remember the the February, March or spring like this in 1975, but it did it did snow on the that night two and a half feet on the 21st of May after graduation. So, I do recall that year. Yes. >> Kind of made up for it a little, huh? >> Up in the mountains and and 18 inches in town. >> Yeah. Kind of crazy. But uh anyway, uh this year we've had less suspensions off the bus, less fights this school year, even more so than last
year. I know last year it kind of fell off uh quite a bit, but more so this year. Wrership has increased though, kind of weird. Um you know, some of the buses that had 15 kids on it now have 50. So, it's kind of a I don't know if there's been a shift in housing. You know, people moving to different places, but it's just something to note. Um, let's see. Or the middle school had moved their Spartan Academy into the alt building as you probably all know already. So, uh um over the spring break. So with collaboration with Aziz, uh, Brady, Slack, Dietrich, Becker, we created three routes for that. Um, they go to school at 9. Well, I think it starts at 9:30, but we pick them up after we drop off all the
gened um kids and then we go on the route and get s get the other kids for this. And uh, we drop them off at 8:55 on the dot. Anyway, it was funny because Aziz's didn't kind of make that clear what time he wanted them. The first day they were there like at 8:30 [laughter] and I thought it was funny. He calls me up and he goes, you know, we never did discuss the time. So, he said 8:55. So, that's what I uh kind of commission the drivers to do. But, uh anyway, it's been going good. Um um I was going to say that it has so far proven to be a successful um program uh according to Dietrich Becker. Um as to the sped transportation we've seen an increase in writership uh than recent
years as we work through IEPs. They're increasingly needing transportation. We wonder if there might be a conversation on whether or not we will need an additional micro bus to support these increases, but who knows because they'll some will get on a new transportation uh in the IEP uh deal, but then some will drop off. So, I don't know, but I know it's getting tight right now. Anyway, um activities and field trips since the beginning of the school year. Um we've actually done less than last year. I know last year was kind of one for books. Uh in fact, this year so far 181 activity trips and 91 field trips where last year we had um well they they were down 71 activity trips and 60 field trips. So less this year. So, kind of funny
how that but we're looking forward to a whole bunch coming up. We're seeing it in the calendar, but uh um I've in instituted a couple things this year pertaining to activity and field trips. Uh there was a need to set activity trip expectations while on the bus and field trip expectations while on the bus um due to some incidents that occurred while in on these type of trips. Um uh in fact we had a big meeting with coaches and all that and then with our drivers and stuff because of that incident. So um charters we're still providing charters uh to non-district entities such as Wind River Cares Museum City of Lander Gold Rush Days weddings etc. We have only turned down one ski trip this year uh going to Jackson Hole uh for Wind River
Cares, but it was due to having drivers not available. We had so many field trips and activity trips and we even had our good friend Max Mills come and uh drive for us. >> Yeah, it's pretty cool. We have an ace in the hole. >> That's right. >> Which that's what I call him. [laughter] But uh and then lastly, recently I was tasked to look into air conditioning for activity buses. And I think uh you guys were wanting to have that information. Uh I called Elder Equipment in Casper to get references for companies that sell and install them. He encouraged me to go to uh Wyoming Indian and visit Russell Norris, who's a supervisor out there, to go look at theirs and uh just see how they work and how they function and and whatnot.
Um and uh and then I went ahead and called and got quote from um uh a outfit in Cheyenne and uh Thermo King is what they're called. And Bubba gave me a um quote, but he gave it with tax on it. So, but uh anyway, I did request getting one uh from him that doesn't have the tax on it. I did kind of put a little um I took pictures when I went out there to their facility. And by the way, I don't know if you guys ever been out to there in their facility for bus garage. Awesome. Like state-ofthe-art. But anyway, um so I took some pictures of this and uh I got a little slide here. So, um here's one of the pictures of the top roof mounted condenser units. And what that
was is uh it's nice because it's uh low profile and they're the same height as our uh rear foils on the bus. those fins that you see on the back. Yep. They're the same height as those fins. And that's very nice because uh the way that our garages are, they're a little shorter and we barely get in them. We have about maybe an inch and a half of clearance. So, it's perfect with that >> and Yeah. Yeah. It's It's >> kind of scary sometimes. And they're real narrow, too. So, um, we have to really make sure our mirrors don't hit. If somebody breaks a mirror, they owe us u next day donuts. >> Just >> that's all. >> That's one of our little [laughter] >> But yeah, so standing inside the bus um looking back.
So there's uh the evaporators on each end, front and back. Um uh this is a flush mounted freeblow evaporator at the back of the bus above the emergency exit as we see here. Um uh these vents blow a high volume of air forward and back from the front. When you are at the middle of the bus, you can usually I mean you you can feel that air even on low. And that's that's that's a big bus, too. That's one of the bigger activity buses that they have. And by the way, how they got these um is one of the board members wives went on a summer trip with I don't know what sport and uh and I guess it was real hot and she went back, she said, "We need AC on our activity buses
for summer." So that's how they got these from what I was told from uh Russell. Um front air vents above the windshield and by the driver front flush mounted free blow evaporator will put out the same volume. Like I said from the rear with both front and back high volume air vents running. You will want to run them on low setting. I was told >> uh anything higher would freeze everybody out. It's that cold. Um, and like I said, the low profile. Um, with that, you know, it's easy for us to get in and out of the garage. Uh, last last one is, uh, the quote, like I said to you that they I did get one except for with tax on it. Uh, so it's going to be roughly around that 29,500 per bus.
But you should see how um they're installed. They're they do such an amazing job. And in the back engine compartment, they have stainless steel um all the the the brackets and then the compressors. I mean, it looks pretty impressive how they put it together, but anyway, it'd be a nice thing to have. So, if you guys are vote on that, I would second it. [laughter] >> So, but that's that's really about it. Uh, it's pretty been uh eventful this year. I know last year we had a lot that uh we went through with deaths and stuff like that. Um, but all in all, you know, everything's going really well so far. >> Knock on. >> Thank you very much. >> That was great. >> You bet. You bet. >> Thanks, Tracy. >> Yeah. Good seeing
you all. >> Have a good night. >> Thanks, Tracy. You, too. >> Okay, with that, we'll move on to board members and I'm gonna start. Um, I went to the uh board training for um the board chair and then I had to make up this lovely handbook of all the different policies and things that they had and shared with us. It was great. I'm going to take that home and read it parts of it. Then I can share it with other people. It be my nighttime reading. All right, let's go to Lori. Well, I sat in on that training with you and actually I took Jod's advice and uh I just was very informative to to hear what some of the other board members had to say and so it was it was great to
be able to to uh hear some of the information that they had to share. It just it really was it was good to hear all of what they said. Um, other than that, I've just been trying to listen to the legislative session in between appointments at the office. [laughter] It's been interesting. So, that's that's about it. A few basketball games here and there. So, it's about all I've done. >> Terry >> got to go to >> some basketball games. Those the girls basketballs very those girls Yes, they did. [laughter] >> And then uh probably the highlight of my life was last night I went to the play up at the high school. >> Oh, wow. >> And if you get out early enough tonight in it starts at 7 and it is well worth going
to. It's the Adams family. I'm sure everybody here is too young to remember the Adams family, but >> it was it's hilarious and the singers are excellent. Well worth the time to go. That's about it. >> Jody, >> um actually um I kind of kept track on some of the stuff legislature and it's kind of nice to see that there are five of those. Was it five? Yeah. >> Five that that didn't even that they were that WSBA was tracking the bills that they were tracking and monitoring that did not they fell due to not receiving twothirds um to be introduced. And those were some of the ones that um we needed to be paying attention to. Had a boat had a Bo cheese meeting on Monday, but we did not have a quorum. So,
we rescheduled. Um I should I put it in my calendar. I don't remember off the top of this next. Let me tell y'all. It'll be coming up next ah on the 2nd of March. I think I can remember that. second February to second of March. Yes. But one of the things that they were concerned with was of course um House Bill 58. Um that's the voter approval for me levying and there that's very concerning. Um we need to pay some special attention to that and try to have some conversations um as much as as much as we can to to help our legislature understand how cumbersome cumbersome that could become because currently it's like half mil, but if it gets up to 2 mills and then that would require a vote as of now. What
they're asking for in this legislation is that it would have to be voted on any mill levels. So, those are the things that I've paid attention to that way. Um, my husband and I were invited out to Wyoming Indian. We went out and watched young Mr. Monroe Black received an award for his thousand point career. Um his dad uh played baseball football when he's a Richton High School graduate and that's Aaron Monroe. Uh Berna Monroe is his aunt and she works at our she had the one of the most beautiful set shots of any female player I've ever watch. >> She was a catcher. >> Yeah. Yeah. And um so and I want to congratulate the boys swim team to re on receiving the very first ever West um conference championship in our school's history.
And um shout out to Jay Dayton who coaches them. Um Kaden Lere, he broke the shot put record and as a former shot putter. I appreciate that. Um Paxton and Yates and Clay Sheets signed their letters of intent for football. Congratulations to them. And god darn it, I am so proud of the Lady Wolverines for beating NC. For me, it was never Lander Riverton. It was always NC. And I was talking to a couple of them prior to this and they said, well, they asked me about Lander and, you know, the, you know, the rivalry. And I said something about, you know, for me it was always NC because I played on the first girls basketball team that ever beat NC at home. And so I love seeing Matrona get beat by Riverton. So that's
wonderful. And I wanted to send congratulations to our senior wrestlers who were recognized on the 6th um and tell them thank you for representing um Riverton High School. And I also we had a senior night done different for three um Riverton High School kids out of the five for hockey and it was done in Cody and they represent our our our school as well and I want to congratulate them and There's going to be a local I guess the WSBA is celebrating local school boards during the week of February 27th through the 26th. And on the morning of February 17th, Governor Gordon will sign a proclamation declaring the week the appreciation week and everybody's welcome to attend. So, um, for me, I think that's it. >> Okay, Christina, >> I just have a quick message.
Um, our elementary principles are looking at altering their calendar to put in more professional development days. They'll stay within the allotted hours that they need to keep. Um, that's required by state law. They would be still over it by 70ish hours. Um, but what they want to do is right now we take a lot of PD time during the day and so they want to maximize the face-to-face instruction so we're not getting substitutes but that they're the ones in front of our kids as much as possible. So, they're looking at what other schools have been doing and how they can maximize their ability to get professional development opportunities so they can continue to increase their tier one support um while also ensuring that we're not taking days when they would have a sub. Um the
other piece of that is that they are going to schedule time to meet with parents. They're setting up uh times next week, I believe, where parents will have an opportunity at each individual school to come in and talk through that. They'll have different times set up and they can make appointments so they can go through that with them and get input to see if it is a good situation. The other piece of that is if it does happen to pass that they're going to have some more time with professional development that they would partner with um like the Boys and Girls Club or utilize pair of professionals to help support supervision or programming for families that may still need something like that. Um it looked like to give you an idea it would be like
one extra day a month. So, it's not significant, but um we currently don't quite go that far in terms of our curriculum days, but we are using um days where we're trying to find subs and then getting subs in is difficult as you know. So, we're trying to find ways to ensure that we're getting the best professional development. Um we do all of our professional development for the most part in house. So, we have train the trainers. So, we have teachers that have done a lot of work to um go out, get trained, become official, train the trainers, and then they come in, work with our teachers, and then our curriculum days are really about are we doing what's best for kids. And right now, we're looking at revamping um doing a lot more evidence-based
grading to ensure that we're having the rigor and that we can really tell parents, this is exactly where your kid is at on this particular skill. So anyway, it's just it's been a lot of work and we're just trying to find ways to um support our teachers, support our our students and what that looks like. So just to give you an idea when I get more information, I'm going to definitely share that with you. I mean, obviously that would be a vote by the board, but I just wanted you to know potentially something could be coming your way so you could have time to look at that. >> That's all I have. >> Thank you. Thank you, Christina. >> Okay, >> I just have a couple of quick things. Uh the first is on the
agenda is con for the board to consider accepting the JOM application grant or JM grant application. Uh this year's allocation is $20,950. It's fairly it's roughly the same as last year's. Um this money is used by the parent the JOM parent committee to supple supplement the Native American education program. So, um, they use this money to do things like host family events, community events, um, things, buy school supplies for students who are in need. Um, so that's on your agenda for consideration. The other thing is I just want to update you about a program that we're really excited about that has gotten off the grounds. Um, a few a few meetings ago, you saw that on the information was a job description for Native American education student ambassadors. So, um, with that job applica, job
description approved, we were able to move forward and bring in some students from the high school to be our student ambassadors for our Title Six Native American education program. So, currently we have seven, but we're looking for more juniors and seniors to um, be our ambassadors. One of their biggest roles will be coming up soon at our mini PD at the end of February where they'll be on a student panel to talk to our educators about what is going well. um in their educational journey and what what are things that um they feel like they could need more support on. So I always feel like it's best to hear it from the students themselves. Um so we'll be glad to be able to bring those uh students in as panelists during that session. Um they
also do things are planning on doing things like implementing programming for the students. Um so it's not old people like me trying to guess what students like. Um and then also planning larger events um that are directed to students. So again, uh we got those students off the ground. I I wanted them to come say hi. Uh just a quick hello, but uh turns out uh a few of them are involved in the play, so [laughter] they're a little busy tonight. >> Well, I guess we're on stage. >> So, um if there's another opportunity for them to come say how, I'll be sure to make that happen. >> That'd be great. Oh, thanks Roy. >> Okay, Ally. >> I don't have anything tonight. Thank you. >> Right, Lynette, >> I also wanted to congratulate our
swim team, but also Jay Dayton for being chosen coach of the year. That is awesome. >> Well deserved. >> Yes. And Northwest Bosey's board is also um discussed. House Bill is it 108? >> Yeah. >> Um and what a concern that could be for Northwest Boseies. It's an issue the mill money that's we set that aside and use it for major maintenance projects there. But what it would hurt us as a district which in turn would hurt the state is member districts who levy mills pay less when we send a student to Northwest Boseies. So if Northwest Boseies doesn't get those mills, then of course our cost to when we have to send a student there would be higher, which in turn is going to cost the state money because that money is 100% reimburseable.
So I'm sure they hadn't thought that through either. So it's a it's a double-edged sword. You know, you you pull this this thread over here and something over here unravels. And so I hope that that that um gets gets [clears throat] fixed. So, um, anyway, congratulations to our athletes and our students, and congratulations to our high school for putting on another successful, largest wrestling tournament in the state. >> All right, Bruce, >> continuing with the Ron Bond, I was amazed at how how many people showed up for that tournament. I mean, it was it kind of I've been there and looked around and watched and stuff, but I just when I was at the gate taking money, it's just kind of incredible how many people come through there. >> Close your mind. >> Um, and
then I have some a question about these bills. Um, the recalibration bill. Does anyone know the number of that of the Senate bill for that? The House bill did not pass, right? >> It's 0081. >> 0081. That's right. Okay. >> 0081. >> Okay. And that's Senate file. Um Okay. Looking at those and just reading that, uh it's like I don't know. That's all I've got. I just want to be able to write coherent emails. >> Carl, >> which will be the first >> Carl. Let's see. >> This got back from Casper for our activities association. No, our uh Wyoming activities association for director's committee and that was we talked about nuances of uh curves on tracks and uh uh indoor track was one of the things that we're trying to make the uh state event
ending event uh so that you have a 16 foot shop instead of somebody that's really competing. So to limit the number of kids that can be at the uh state championship event. So like having only two flights of 200 instead of eight flights and and having a a student that takes an extra three minutes in the mile. So those kinds of things, right? I never really thought about, but I guess it happens that uh the Gillette uh ad was just took us 12 and a half hours to get through uh our uh tournament last week >> and it's you know it so many kids and and they're not they shouldn't even have been at the tournament and that [clears throat] coaches just can't say no. So, and then also I mean the nuances I'm this
never been a jock I guess. Uh and I learn so much every time I go to these meetings about things I never even think about caring about but how long a track is in a university that you don't have to make a curve on the 200. Uh and so you have really fast times when you don't have to do a curve. Same way with They made a pitch for state swimming, Laramie, Cheyenne, and Gillette, and we voted it down, not accepting any of them, asking them to go back and maybe negotiate a year, you know, one year each one. So, and the facility at Gillette sounds, I mean, the pictures are just phenomenal. They have a a practice pool. It's in the same building that is as big as our pool, you know, so they
could run two tournaments if they wanted to. And the diving uh well is so the the lanes run perpendicular to the diving pool. So they don't have to re they don't have to stop the tournament to reset up to do diving. So it's a be beautiful facility. Plus it's in a low altitude uh area. to a sales job from ads is fun. [laughter] >> We got to >> car. >> Yeah. But, you know, it's not a used car. It's brand new and only it opened up in December 1st. >> Wow. >> Pretty amazing. >> So, it was it was an interesting day. Uh you were mentioning uh the legislative things that are going on. Remember, we have schoolboard association has uh a legislative uh forum coming up uh the 22nd. Is that get it all
screwed up because I'm going to go down on the 20th I think. But anyhow, uh so if you're interested in maybe seeing one of them, you probably won't see them at the forum or at the reception afterwards, but you could probably see legislature on Monday after that. It's it's usually good to go if you're down there and and try to connect with our legislators. Some of the things that uh we've been asked to care about and is to maintain the block grant, preserve the three-year rolling average, uh the removal of state removal to the state health insurance, evaluate the, you know, and and pass a uh cost adjustment, an RCA, uh keeps classes small, >> salaries >> need to be bolstered. Uh protect the small districts and allow our business managers to uh work with
our investments so that the money is being used. Um and a message to everyone is that they are listening to us. there's been there has been some mo movement and they uh appreciate getting texts or if you can give them a call it's when they have a moment uh you know give them a call if you're watching and see those breaks occur give them a jingle keep them keep them thinking uh but so you like you mentioned the five bills yesterday Brian said it was the the best uh opening day of a legislature. [laughter] >> That doesn't surprise me. >> So, so, uh, it's been moving at all. We have, uh, I think, let's see, I think we have five or six candidates now for Fremont County Bose executive director uh, opening. One of them
is an interesting one from an organization that has administrative services. They're out of Cheyenne. They're called in line. >> Yeah. >> But anyhow, they're they're out there making a proposal to us, too. On the 16th, we'll meet as a board and look at the applicants and decide who we want to interview. So, it's getting closer. Um the Boseis uh vote bill is hopefully not going to happen, but you know, we have to keep an eye on it and it could affect the way we do business. Yeah. So other than that, that's about it. >> Jada, >> I do not. Thank you, Terry. I think you guys have all recapped the recalibration pretty well, but I wanted to Jod's going to get into more of the specifics later. Um, but just as Lynette said, when you
touched something here, something unravels here and Jod and I spent a good two days of really trying to follow their thought process and we really had to step through of, okay, they changed it here, now it's affecting all this other stuff. Um, so I hope you guys enjoy what we did here, but we really took what we were funded compared to the the comparison. Um, so like I said, she'll get detail and like I could answer any questions that you guys have when she explains that. >> Okay. >> So, uh, we made this chart. We we did a lot of different things and ended up with this chart where we have our current 100A which is the tool that we use to develop our budget. And so you put your district inputs into that tool
and then it gives you these outputs. So all of this down the left hand side is from the 100A. The first column is currently how we're funded for this school year based on current law. That's our FTE. And then that next column is the funding with that goes along with it. The third column is the committee's FTE recommendation for these same things. So you'll notice though that a couple of these like the library aid um and the extended day, those are brand new at the right above the first blue bar there. So they weren't included in our 100A, our current 100A, but they are being suggested by the committee. We spent an awful lot of time trying to figure out exactly how this truly impacts us. And you'll notice if you look at the first
two, the regular classroom teachers, the elective teachers, and the additional CTE, the first three, I guess, and you go over to the very far column and you'll see the funding variance is um >> well, yeah, not only is it um 27 teachers, but if you look at that, it's um three almost $4 million. >> Yeah. But if you go to the bottom line at the very bottom at the totals in the purple, it's an increase of $1.5 million. So it's we're having a really hard time trying to figure out what really this does to us because funding is being cut in several areas, but the bottom line appears to be a $ 1.5 million increase >> as opposed to the loss that we have been expecting. So, we can't make heads or tails of it
and that's why we don't have a lot of information for you because based on and this matches with the um LSOS that they gave out to us. It it matches exactly and so I don't know where the miscommunication is. I don't know where I we can't figure out we can't figure it out. That's just as simple as that. good chunk of it's in the that additional funding for assessments and insurance. >> That's what I'm saying. But what I'm saying is what we're not understanding is >> they think they're cutting money and they're really not. >> No, they are. >> Well, some not bottom line. >> Some people feel like it's a really big cut. Some people don't. I think the most important part is it doesn't appear to be a cut, but it probably will
be if we're categor categorical, >> we lose the block. if we lose the block because then we will have to spend it as intended. >> Yeah. >> And >> or as directed shouldn't say intended and that will be different for all of us. Um and we were looking and we had some other columns um out further but it further complicated what we were seeing about well this is actually how much we are spending. So, we already did a lot of the work last year through our attrition and then also through um our reconfiguration to where we're actually with our own FTE, we're overstaffed in our CTE and electives, um but we're right on target in our core teachers. So, when you look at the overall of our current staffing and the funding, it it makes
it even more confusing. But um bottom line is we just need to be watching and communicating. I I personally think the most important part right now is we do not want this to be categorical. >> We want to hold on to the block >> and if it is categorical have it be a broad instruction base so that we can use it within instruction how we need to. however, do notice that they cut custodians, maintenance workers, um, and those are very important parts of our district as well. So, um, so do you believe that some districts might be different? Because when we were on the call with Brian Farmer, he said that the LSO is telling the legislature that we're getting an increase in funding, but we're really not. So, I wasn't really sure how. That's
why I'm having a hard time understanding because the list that I have, the list that was provided to us only had one district in the negative that I could find. So that's where the confusion is coming in is the we look at it and we can't make heads or tails. So it's kind of like when you listen to the news, this station might say this, this station might say this, and you don't know which one's true. So I like what the governor says, we are well off and we are doing well, but the legislators are continually saying we're going to be on a fiscal cliff. So which one of those is reality as well? It's it's hard to say. >> So how can they say we're on a fiscal cliff and still be wanting to
cut taxes significantly? >> So >> because they want to push us over that. >> I I mean I have no answers. And that's what Colton and I have spent >> a few days looking at is just trying to make sense of >> what this all means for us. And >> I appreciate that. >> Yeah. And other people other people seem to have a better sense than I do of it. But >> I don't know how to explain it. I would note in in our numbers we did include health insurance because they didn't plan on moving the health insurance to the state plan until uh for year 27. So we did include that. So when we did lose that that would be a hit to us. We it just wouldn't happen this year. So it that
is included in our numbers. So keep that in mind this year >> right now if that happened. >> Yeah, those are already included in this. So you'll notice that um we're already if you look at the principles, we're at five, >> right? >> And that's what the committee is recommending. Also, that has to do with our reconfiguration. We cut two schools and so we'll lose the funding for two principles. So some of this makes sense due to our reconfiguration, but that also is putting some changes in this that aren't >> this Senate file. This to to our knowledge this is what we have our 100A is the first two columns that is what we are working off of for this year the other is what LSO provided us as in this is what's happening >>
from the committees >> in the futureings >> what's the current recommendation >> from the house or the set of variance that is caused >> they're a little bit different each one either >> both of those bills they're not >> right so I'm not sure they did not commun I didn't get >> and the house is dead. >> So the the Senate's different and it's the one that's still run, >> right? >> We're just working with the tools that they gave us at this time >> and they're always behind >> and usually not right. So, the other thing um besides that that we have is you'll see that we have some pictures of the potential new bleachers of what they'll look like when they are um retracted. And then just these these are not finalized. They're
just the preliminary because people have been asking what's it possibly going to look like. So, I asked Ed as soon as he had them to share them with me so I could give them to you. Um Ed's been working with the team more more than I have and I think Christina has been a a little bit more a part of it than I have been as well. So if you have questions you can ask them. Um I do I did ask the new bleachers are going to be about 500 less capacity due to the ADA and the new um requirements for stability etc. Then the only other thing >> 500. Yep. >> We have one of the largest capacity, right? >> We do. We do. >> So we'll we'll we should still be okay. And
then I did have a question. Um we have policy 4115-e um for your field trip budget request. This is your special board account that does the field trip. So, we updated some of the processes and procedures with that, making it a little more clear. But one of the things that I'm not clear on, and I was hoping some of you might have historical background, is what types of trips is this intended for? Because word is getting out and we're going to start getting many, many more requests like for athletic camps and some of those types of events. So it might be important for the board to decide because there is limited amount of funding or to know what the historical context was of the purpose of creating this. >> Haven't we historically used it for
like state when someone is a state champion they're going to nationals they're it's not just we don't do sports camps. We've never funded those >> ever. >> We it started originally with group that kept getting more and more people going to a state event, >> right? >> And because there was nobody in the state in the uh doing the same thing, I can't remember what it was called right now. And it it started like there'd be 30 of them. Then all of a sudden there was 66 of them all going to [clears throat] >> national something. >> Yeah. Nationals in Iowa or something. And at that point is when we limited we we created the policy. It's this is how much we're going to spend. If you're going to do have to do more, you're
going to have to do fundraising. And that special account was a absorption account so that if something new came up, we could absorb it. But I know usually what we voted on is if like I said if someone wins they're a national officer or someone wins and has the right to go to nationals that we help them out. But it's not ever been I don't think in all the years I've been on the board we've ever used it to support a sports camp or anything like that. none of those camps but like you said for those national events I think >> is what that was basically what >> and we helped support them but they still have to >> fundra >> it's not we don't pay all of it >> been used >> well we
use it a lot >> we do >> all of those that we vote per policy to let them travel out of state per policy >> okay >> all those national events that's >> and not and they don't always request funds >> um with the out of state request, but >> the trip to Park City and the trip down to Colorado with the band, some of the the trip to Seattle for for local camps. >> Not camps. >> No camps. >> No, we've never utilized that for that. >> Okay, so that provides some clarity. Thank you. That's all I had for this evening. Anybody else have anything? >> Anybody in the audience have anything? >> Did you Oh, >> you want me to talk about >> the rec board? >> Yeah, >> we had a rec
board meeting on a second for approval of grants and uh we approved more more money this year than we ever have before in our history. >> But uh we got a lot of large projects planned. We're planning for the future to where we might not have enough money to take care of those large projects. So, we're going to get rid of them this year and uh because that's going to bring in more money. If we can have large soccer tournaments here, just like the Ron Thawn, that brings in a lot of money for the community and so that'll be nice. And uh we got some USA wrestling stuff done. A lot of different projects going that was the most that we've ever given out in grants. So we'll see how it goes. That's it for
the >> just did they talk about was this the club soccer that did they uh I know they were having some problems scheduling. They they didn't get anybody at this year's uh fall tournaments, you know, because there was Lander had been just the week before and then uh there was another tournament somewhere else and everybody went to it. >> And so the fall soccer tournament in Riverton was a dismal >> was a bust. Yeah. >> Have they is I know that's an internal struggle. Uh Have they come up with any solutions? >> Not to my knowledge on that. >> They didn't bring those up at that meeting. >> Of course not. >> Yeah. >> It's just like the the basketball tournament that we didn't get to have. >> Yeah, exactly. >> Is there any clout?
>> Okay. Is there anything else? All right. Let's move on to action items. Consider an administrative recommendation to approve an out ofstate travel request. Any discussion or questions? >> So, the concurrent enrollment will be college credit for that. Just making sure. >> And we're looking at trying to uh build in another one as well. Awesome. >> We just have some opportunities and I think we're looking at a history of rock course and then hopefully as we continue to look at that, we could look at a history credit also attached. So, it would be a fine arts and history. >> Nice. >> That' be awesome. >> Can we
take the history of rock course? [laughter] >> I bet it would be really cool. >> Mr. come in. Sign me up. >> Pit band. >> A pit band. [laughter] >> An orchestra band for the theater. >> Carl, [laughter] >> you can play for us. >> No, the you got those kids. >> Learn how to work with the >> the performers. >> Performers. Yeah, >> it' be kind of cool. >> Okay. Anything else? >> All those in favor? I. >> Any opposed? Okay, moving on to the next one. 058When I read this, I did have to wonder what fire protection had to do with >> whatever. >> No. >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Anybody opposed? Okay, moving on to the next one.
