all right i'd like to call this regularly scheduled meeting at fremont county school district 25 board of trustees to order please join me for the pledge of allegiance i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all we have a roll call please um madam chairman we have a quorum to conduct business all right thank you are there changes to the agenda this evening we do need to um add item a underneath the rectangle and under action items we need to add item i okay okay we have a motion to accept the amended agenda move that the agenda is adopted with the changes second okay we have a motion in a second is there
debate or any questions all in favor with an eye anybody opposed with a no okay our agenda is approved as amended the consent agenda tonight includes approval of the minutes of the june 14 2022 board meeting consideration of payment of bills including late pays pre-authorization of payroll utilities officials and automatic payments that the board adopt the consent agenda as presented i'm just sorry it didn't have any uh changes of policy that's coming second all in favor with an eye buddy opposed all right our consent agenda is approved miss lebeau you are up first okay i'm not sure how this is gonna come up here but i thought we'd just scroll um my kids were all i only had three um i would just want to say thank you jody and while cheryl and whoever allowed
for this to happen especially in the summer school this year was a little bit different we just had to wait for people to sign up so that was a little bit different this year um next year i think i i wanted to actively recruit i did this year but you know they said well whoever shows up shows up and so um the kids that oh they are it is up yay um and i hope you guys can see it okay looks good um so this was funny because we were collecting buffalo hair for a rope project and uh he happened to find the mail there and so that was kind of fun um [Music] we look at medicines uh these are one of our medicines that our men are telling the the buffalo caretakers are
explaining a medicine that's on the cape on that wall right there and so they're learning about not only the buffalo but you know the medicines that are involved that we look for so that was good to learn picking buffalo hair you know that was really interesting you know to actually fill you know the hair of a buffalo and you know actually be right amongst them was really great and then um so everything is kind of out of order here so this day after they picked the buffalo hair they came back and um they had a bunch of cedar and then the buffalo hair and a bunch of different medicines on the table and they learned how to work with those medicines and just how to clean them and how to take care of them so
then then they could um transition those as they needed to be transitioned and so this was just them figuring it out they got to be the experts and that was a blast to see because um sri was gone that day and so um they gotta they gotta teach the class and i gotta just sit and watch and um that was a great experience and so you'll see i think in this picture in the next couple of pictures maybe oh maybe it's not on there it might not have been the one we picked up but it was really interesting for me because as a couple of our well our three kids sat and worked and did their job and then there was breaks for summer school then we'd get a couple of tricklers come in oh
i want to do that and so they all sat around and they got to be kids but they got to be kids learning about their culture and teaching each other and just interacting together and that was a great experience for them and just to have a place where they felt they could come and felt comfortable to to be kids so then this was we went to fort washakie dam and this is on the other side and after we kind of waded through the dam and we found all sorts of we found what mountain lion tracks and kids played in the water and we experienced that piece of it and we decided to go there because it at the time it was one of the safest areas for water she researched that a lot just to
make sure that we could keep our kids safe as they explored the great outdoors and so this is on the other side where the dam comes out into the river and they brought their one of them brought their fishing poles and so unfortunately he had no luck but it didn't stop him from trying and so then we got to sit here and sure we gotta share stories with the kids and with myself and learn about how the stories interact with just kind of how things play out in different so i think one of the biggest things here i don't always share with everybody but it's really important um with our biggest ceremony coming up um this is the one of the places where they can see all of our seven sacred trees and it's all
in one story and then i get to sit with them and then they actually get to see them and we get to um you know we collect at cedar we collected all the willows that are there and so looking at those trees is our pathway to water right and then actually seeing it out there live while i'm telling the story then they're able to visualize it a lot better and then they have a better understanding for one of our ceremonies so it's just nice for them just to look and you know see what they're what are you looking at and then to tell our story of it of what it means and all that i'm sorry i got pneumonia so i'm gonna handle this as best i can i may lose my voice one of
the others um last year in the last couple years is onion i get in trouble because i say wild onion and my elders always say it's just onion [Laughter] last year there wasn't enough water in the last two years we um i had taken them with elders before and then they'd already been dried up and these were actually not even ready yet they were so full of water and it was kind of interesting because they had to get down into the dirt and kind of clean them out and understand having that smell at first it wasn't a lot and um so i always talk about a relationship we have to have a relationship with our plants the soil and this was our main one this was a surprise trick because we were gonna go get
asparagus stevens had asked us to work out a path to the asparagus and um it just was too flooded we couldn't do it so this was a surprise and we ended up having more um medicines while we were out there and this was really a neat experience too with the onions because where they were at in the dirt we spent a lot of time talking before and after because next time our adventures we like to call them but while they were working they spent a lot of time sitting quietly and just and working through the process and with the onions most especially was interesting because the top the top tier the dirt was really hard and so getting them to be patient and dig through and persistence and so we were able to talk about
some of those things and the outcome of what that brought them and what they gained from that not only a plant but some of the lessons they gained from that was really cool to hear their perspectives and i choose to not share a ton about that because i ensured to them in our circles that we would maintain their confidentiality it's their story it's up to them to share if they choose to um but super powerful experience this one especially a lot of different things like cherie said it was kind of a surprise trip and working with one of the agencies locally the gal said oh let's go out here i have some things that we just found the other day and so we were out there what we thought would be like an hour trip
and we ended up spending probably two and a half hours in a really small area finding all sorts of things and um not one time did we have any sort of redirects with our kids they were engaged the entire time and that was pretty impressive just to see that level of engagement and this is kind of the beginning of having the amazement of they were really fascinated with the dirt the soil actually digging into it and then getting down there and are like what is this and started playing and building that we actually brought the dirt back you know so i know sarah had some and she'll sift through it but you know having an appreciation for how powerful plants are you know one plant will feed dinosaurs cows horses but actually having to see
how much medicine just in one area we could stand there and say oh look what we have here [Music] and helping them to have an appreciation but actually putting their phones down and then really digging and really getting into the process and learning the stories um especially in our arapaho stories how that all lines up to this time of the year right which is why a lot of our kids well our kids aren't here tonight is because a lot of them are preparing for getting ready and helping families get ready and gather supplies so this was at we went up to togety and this was at that overlook i'm sure he loves the pictures i got over and so i can kind of let you speak to this one so this one we had wanted
to go up with the elders but everybody's like i said it's getting ready for sundance and they had decided um to postpone um so it won't come until this next week but like i said i can always invite them and but this was a real good chance for them to uh go through the area and kind of identify all of the plants that we've been experiencing and seeing and then for them to kind of walk around and kind of be the experts and you know they could you know walk and then say oh this and that and so we spent a good deal of time in this field but oh no there i am that's sasquatch [Laughter] um but actually she is dangerous for the camera one of the ladies from temple but she's also
one of the ladies sorry some of my kids work at temple you know now that's their life passion you know and hopefully our kids will get into the summer youth program but having a relationship with the plant to carefully take it out but this is where they really started building their communications the reason i had wanted sarah and then also amy is um i didn't have it in here but at the buffalo we did tai chi but one of the things that happens is they get really emotional and just being a lone teacher there was so much last year that i couldn't even get to and process with my kids and so sarah was able to open up those healing circles and kind of keep an eye on um because we had emotional moments that
happen you know when we go to different areas and they don't quite understand why right and you know we have to talk to them about geez this is uh when we went up to the medicine well right it was a real struggle but they worked really hard um but they know there was there was a feeling there and so we had a lot of discomfort and a lot of things that happened but you know just on an emotional level handling all of this stuff like she said i wish she could have slowed down i was like well um i want to give them the experience and i can't ever tell them unless we go out there and they hear the story and they make the connections and then um having sarah to follow up where
i couldn't speak well she was able to really bring that to where they could talk you know in this moment that you're looking at on the thing is the moment that they finally said they did it they did it on their own so we when we talked in our planning we we decided we wanted to do a circle at the beginning and the end of every day the beginning to kind of line out what was our day what's our agenda look like you know and just to kind of lay things out there for what are your excitements what are our excitements what are our fears what are our worries um and then to close up our every day with a circle what did you learn what are some things that came up to build for
them a safe space with us and with each other to take all the things and to set it in the center and to have a safe space to keep that and this like cherie said was the culminating moment that's when we knew that like cherie said that they were we were done that they did it because they did it on their own they um crystal the gal from tippo was kind of teaching them how to dig out the plant safely so they could harvest the whole plant and how to then refill everything the way they're supposed to be and then we all just kind of walked off it was a big meadow so we were always in eye shot but then we let them do their thing and here's you know four kids at this
time that they see each other at school they know they kind of know who each other are but they don't hang out and to hear their conversations on the way back from together and the connections that they made and everything that they learned was like we we did what we set out to do well they did they they took it it was really we facilitated and they took it and ran with it and i think the biggest surprise i i felt came from them is like we thought we were just going to sit in the classroom and i said i didn't um you know you guys all showed up every day came every day all day and then i was like the person that came in here that was behind that didn't do their schoolwork
during the year i said that's not you anymore you know they were on it i mean they were engaged i could tell them a story in the morning and then ask okay what was that story from this morning and um my one boy i mean he could just tell me the story really detailed i was like whoa you know um you know they're always listening you know but connecting in it connecting it to the land and then we discovered i i don't have it in here i wish i did i didn't pick that picture um we went up to sinks canyon and they found new petroglyphs so the kids were able to go up and look at the new petroglyphs that nobody else has ever seen got to crawl down in there and then um
you know really looking at them you know deciding how to look for them you know because we we saw maybe two or three and then with tipple's help learning you know how we look you know at a different angle at um a different shadow and then they just started showing up more than we ever thought but teaching them how to look you know how to look at things and you don't just stand there you know but actually go up and explore and they got to go way up to the top and so i'm glad they're going to be a part of you know that that history as far as finding those new petroglyphs and you know finding all the medicines there you know looking at all of that was really key i wish my kids
were here and they could talk and tell you um what they went through um they were already talking about next year though how they want to come back and so we were talking about ways that they could kind of be mentors to kids coming in and how we could help them to help recruit more kids to come in that it's not just well i didn't go to school and so now i have to find a class to fill my time but making it that if some kids need that but even more powerful and getting more kids involved because it was it was it was really fun to watch the evolution of who they were when they walked in and our relationship over time and then who they were when they left was pretty incredible so
i appreciate the opportunity to be able to do this yeah and just speaking to the students coming in the first day and already having problems with staff in the hallway staff in the bathroom and then looking at how we can talk differently look at things differently but always in that relationship you know helping them to understand okay that sounded like this yeah it did well how did you feel about that and then stepping in you know with the teacher at the time what could he have done differently oh i don't know okay well let's um you know let's try to talk to each other better did he do what he was supposed to do yes okay so you know looking at our kids okay we when we go out and do these things in a
good way you know with all relations but having that um traditional knowledge and i say ecological knowledge but it helps them relate to everybody helps them to be a little bit kinder a little bit gentler learn how to talk my one boy said you know i never talked i never talked he said he worked at um a summer youth program and one of the girls recognized him they're like you never said anything he goes well i know how to talk now is that i still have a problem with talking i was just raised with old people and it's hard for me to get up and talk in front of adults and for them to actually just talking the whole you know last three days of our trips and discussing with each other and um you
know just visiting just talking it felt a lot better and i was really grateful for them and um i just appreciate you know being able to have this class you know hopefully it'll get we'll get more as we go along uh hopefully next year especially we're out of coven but i just want to say thank you for the opportunity and also um thank you for allowing me to have other staff here so i look forward to our our traditional ecological class with admin i think in august in august um being able to show you how we conduct and it's just what we i always say it's a raffle life movement it's about how we walk and that's how we interact with things and we have a relationship with everything and once you start there um
like that with these powerful things right they can be in our life but we should also be able to do that with everybody when they walk in you know having a kinder gentler disposition with all people with all relations right and so i think that was real key for sarah because i felt bad because she was going to have to go through some some breaking in with my students and they did and they did but she was the right person i think for that counseling piece that i think was real key and then helping them to follow that routine of how to talk say what you need to say so i appreciate it and giving them a safe space to take risks in a good way a lot of times we see our kids take
risks in a not healthy way and this was a safe space for them to be able to take risks in a good way and learn to communicate learn to have a voice learn to hear their voice and learn to stand up and and have some buy-in and um some they were they were so proud of themselves it was the cutest thing and we did we ran them we ran them hard on those days we got a lot in and they would take naps in the car these big giant kids crashed but it was so good because that also is healing and helps them process in the way that helps them feel the most safe and so it was a great experience all right any questions i have a quick question what is the what are
the initials to ek i think i don't know traditional ecological knowledge thank you yeah i was close thank you yeah you were huh so you know we're always talking about blending our um knowledge but how we know our relationship with this plant but what is it in the modern world how do they see this plant right how does that have a relationship in the world does it uh bears what are the relationships for a raffle so they know through the stories but what is it in the modern world what is their value right how are they looked at and then so showing that relationship always the ecological knowledge for them is you know we do have relationships and but from near rebel side this is what it looks like and so um being able to
share all of that every day a different story and a different line of reasoning our life movement for a raffle for these kids um so traditionally native students are i guess visual and auditory learners are you are and you don't have to tell me anything right now but are you kind of composing any ideas that we can use throughout the school year for our native students going on based on what you learned here and also how to something to tell the teachers as you go in in august for the tech class that you're going to have with the teachers does that make sense what i just asked well um as far as having the tech class i guess i just assumed that was the summer but i mean you know i do that throughout as
i whatever i mean like our teachers could learn because we are we're visual and auditory learners and them learning the story like how you said he was able to reiterate that right um i know a couple of my kiddos themselves it was tough for them to read out of a textbook and they had to download programs or whatever to be able to get them their textbooks read to them and they were able to retain such knowledge is that something that you could recommend or figure out a way to to explain it to our teachers as we go into the new school year and even based on some even some of your stories your experiences yeah and that's the way i designed it is i bought them all the book the arapahoe um by andy kell
and but we were all crucial part of that putting that into the stories as a as a group as um language um composing you know we put that book together for them meaning okay this is the safest way to present that but anybody that read that book you wouldn't get the information but me as in a rapper i can say look i can tell my kids look this is where the ceremony is well it tells you everything right so you look at those stories because i know um i'm able to bring that out and then they're like what so they take that book home and they can read it you know one of the things i like to do is i like to read out loud for them and then until they gain that interest
then all my kids will read you know they'll read other big and i think the university book and if there's a way we can do it i just don't know and i think it's continuing to have those conversations and bring other people in and have forums like this where we can we can show the things that we've done and having those conversations because one of the biggest things that sheree helped me learn just this week was we're in one of our circles no we weren't in circle but you were reading a story and one of our kiddos works nights and got up early every day and made it almost on time i mean but they're there and um as sheree was telling the story the poor little guy just crashed out he was just sitting
in his chair and and we talked later and she helped me understand that sometimes that's okay because because of the auditory piece and because of the way that he needed to learn he was hearing things that my traditional teacher knowledge tells me oh they gotta wake up they gotta stand at attention and listen to us you know but not necessarily the case so i think it's continuing to have these conversations and continuing to bring that advocacy piece for the multicultural awareness into our schools into our teachers um exposing our kids and exposing our teachers to to presentations maybe i don't know if that's the way to do it um but i think like sheree said there's there's bigger conversations probably to be had to help integrate it a little bit more appropriately for our kids
and like we did um so part of their kind of culminating event to where how they would get credit and how we could ensure that they would get credit is to build a movie on the ipad like their imovie um and some of them did typing some of them did drawing and then others recorded and so that was a way that they were all able to get credit and to demonstrate what they learned and what they knew um so continuing to have those maybe accommodations in classrooms and having conversations with teachers as we need to yeah and on a bigger scale because i know my kids um i know what i can give them right i know what they're going to see here soon in our ceremony i know what they're going to watch and
so all of my stories are you know yeah one point when we went to the medicine well it was good to use skyview so then they know oh this is why it's set up oh this is why that's there and then while we're cleaning you know we actually cleaned it this year we learned how to do it and the lady that owned it she was like this feels good our grandmas and grandpas are happy because you came and you cleaned that was the first time we did it but knowing that importance and the power of sitting out there you know that what's already out there you know and um you know we have things close like i always say love your res you know love what we have right here and that's what this class
is about was right here we just went out in the dirt and they're like man we could just go out and play in the hills because of the quality of the the dirt that was out there right so much so they wanted to bring the dirt home but we want relationships like that not just and i always you know everybody always says well can anybody sign up for my class yeah you know anybody can sign up you know because we're all here we're all relations we're right next to each other and like all the other kids that come and visit my class like she said you know they'll just come in and i'm like yeah just you can visit but anyone's welcome you know it's about us learning about this area and you know we
can do that from our view from our perspective and everybody deserves that i think you know how we see things and anybody can listen you know be a part of that so i think that's that's how i want to see it that's how i would like it to be i appreciate what you guys have done and even though you say you know you had a class of three you probably changed the world for those three kids i mean that's a different form of empowerment for those kids and that's what we have to do is you know as a school district it's educators figure out what that empowerment is and then take that and run with it so because they value because of what they value with the medicines and learning about it then they can
see that and use that and relate it to their educational journey and now they have a goal a different goal in mind so i really appreciate what you guys have done anybody else have a question or comment thank you for sharing thank you thank you thanks for coming in thank you and you're right we do live in an amazing place we're looking forward to our trips in august that's right i know i'm sorry all right we'll move on to board members and staff let's start with jeremy tonight um yeah i'm glad to be back from mexico i was one of the fortunate people that had a positive cover test 24 hours before flying home so it was a zoo to try to get my family was able to fly home but i had to fly
another way i had to go to mexico city to tijuana walk across the border get san diego san diego met them when they left at 4 a 4 p.m i left at 5 00 a.m and they only had to wait for me an hour and a half and i had no symptoms didn't feel bad got home sunday it hit me so then i was quarantined in my house for six days so yeah i'm glad that's over i bet you are yeah that's about it all right and morgan's doing much much better thank you thank you for all you ever asking your prayers glad to hear about this seems to be working bruce we had a boat cheese meeting last night it wasn't anything i mean it was basically just ratification of the budget that we
talked about before um that's pretty much it really all right cody um just um had a conversation you know been trying to get things set up for rec board so that we have a shareable um spreadsheet that um that the whole board can look at the the checkbook balance and do some of that stuff and then there'll be only a couple people that can actually edit and take care of that so that it's it's out there and it's more visible and so i've been looking into doing that um trying to prep for the for the upcoming preliminary budget that um we have and i've got some correspondence here with regards to um employees which we don't have any but we address this every year and have to go online and they have to you know
go through and say we don't employ anybody you know volunteer board and that and so um and outside of that just been i went up and i spent a lot of time up in the mountains and this past weekend went on a what i call randy's run and um went through the and saw a lot of what they talked about and i had a friend who sent me a text message and it had hands holding the world after because he saw some of the posts from facebook and he said it's amazing what you can see up there and i said you know when you are up there you feel like you like you are holding it in your hands and so i i can identify a little bit with what these kids got to experience
in the fact that i've always been around those types of things and been taught to appreciate plants and animals and and and all those things so but outside of that just looking forward to getting to see my three great nieces they're going to be here on sunday so i'm pretty excited about that okay jenny oh i missed you guys i guess i've got the dreaded kova too same thing too but fortunately it wasn't as long of a path our journey it's terrible you didn't have to walk across did not have to walk i couldn't believe they let me do that but i couldn't fly internationally i could fly within country without a test but i couldn't fly internationally that's crazy yeah it's crazy so so i'm glad i'm glad you're okay and your family's okay
um just nothing much just uh softball's going on right now so it's um about time to end um my team did bring home the bronze medal so it's awesome i was really proud of them we had we didn't have any goals for a state of wyoming but we had a really strong showing a lot of our athletes did wonderful so um i like the coverage we saw you in the opening ceremonies they did um espn did select me um just based on my everything that i my application and everything so that's why i got to represent the state of wyoming that's awesome that's why i had that big old red button that's right that's awesome but it was it was a lot of fun it was really busy it was hot i you know wyoming
would be in the 90s today yeah it was only 80 down there but it was 80 90 percent humidity yeah yeah breathing through a wet wash yes it is it's like suffocation so i've had my fellow florida probably for the next 10 years but other than that um not a whole lot awesome well congratulations on youtube athletes thank you carl not much we had our boces meeting the same day as our last meeting i don't think i mentioned it but you know we're pretty much set with the budget you know jody was talking last time about the difference in evaluations and whatnot in district 25 at the boces there's very little fluctuation in what it had been it's shoshone because it's so much mineral that is shocking i mean it's shocking to me to see
oh man because it's in a scale of you know let's say a hundred thousand dollars you know and so there's wasn't a hundred thousand dollars but it's it's such small dollars compared to millions of dollars right that when it gets down and it's only you're only getting 3 and they used to get in the 30s that it's it's truly amazing it's hit that district hard in the rec board yeah it's it's going to be a it'll be a challenge yeah i mean like i said riverton didn't you know district 25 didn't have super impact i don't know what it's doing to their rec board over in shoshone i'd imagine i imagine pretty much the same they'll be entitled to the basically what it what ours is is half you know and then they you know
prorated out to be paid over the next 13 years the remaining 66 000 at eight percent is what ours will be so i would imagine that it will be exactly probably similar if not the same i i mean and that will hurt them a chunk it's a chunk their mineral side is much greater oh yeah and it's going to be a chunk for them i i don't envy them but if that's that was you know and we've been going we've been doing it for this is from last year right mm-hmm you know it's not this year no this is what we're getting right now right and it's uh because we check we keep a floating balance every meeting and we have gone to now only five meetings a year rather than each month and this
couldn't keep quorums uh yeah and we're losing a couple you know mr berg's brother's not going to be there any longer he's retiring from the school board and from the boces the representative from dubois is moving back to pennsylvania so he's going to be gone so it'll be a new group of folks come november when boces reorganizes i did do a trip to california got to see some people lots and lots of people what part of california southern and uh in the san diego area about 40 miles north and we're staying in a four-story hotel and looking over two uh two freeways basically once sort of going off this way in one spot you know yeah from us you know so and then this hill and when i got there you know they were moving
equipment and whatnot and in the five days i was there they had taken that hill welcome to the white house and knocked it down no idea what just happened watching that hill go from where it was to both sides and all around and flattening and dropping the hill probably like 50 feet wow and in five days it completely done they had a big huge three three yard bucket and dumping it into mining size dump trucks and just moving it i've been going to this same place for 25 years and you know it started out as a small little community and uh with rural that had you know there was a dairy with a bunch of cows now they just have a gordon road to sort of give homage to the but my point is that
there's so many people in california and you know my brother he talks about how it's all because of people coming across the border and the social programs but just looking at the infrastructure of a place like that is outrageous just to try to keep up with the roads the you know the stuff that the city has to do the county has to do and the state has to do to keep up with the growth that's going on now growth is great but boy unless we change our tax structure growth is not so great you know what happens in california is you know when we get to wyoming again you know it uh you know you get a hundred people you 40 grand per person that comes and we they only you know if they're all
adults they're only going to generate 4 000 worth of taxes and i mean and we're already under budget and we're still the bad kid on the block as far as the state budget uh and this season the one of the governor toiled uh gentlemen already blasting education saying that we've spent 18 thousand dollars per student and we don't have the greatest education in the nation now i'm going to disagree with him and wish that he'd come and talk and learn a little bit about schools and it's going to be like that with a lot of people that are running i mean they're going to use us as schools as their bad guys one of their bad guys and you know i'm i'm over it i'm you know only going to be here for two more
years but it's just appalling that they do that and they don't know what they're talking about some of them think they do but there's a guy that's running for one of the top four that was in the senate and he thinks he knows what he's talking about but you know he disuses us he doesn't learn he just repeats stuff and so you know i guess i have to thicken my skin to get through this next uh till past november and maybe they'll but then they'll start on the next year in the legislature so there's my moving on thank you girl jody with an eye joe died all right i uh just want to share a couple of things we have our no our bow seas northwest boces meeting tomorrow night we'll be deciding on our
budget as well we were able to ramp up our our staff salaries just a little bit we did some shuffling around of funds just like we did here and we thankfully have been very frugal with that budget so we have a carryover so that will sustain us until everything levels out with with all of the mills and and our member districts that are severely affected because shoshone is one of our member districts so that will of course affect affect the boces but we'll be having our picnic in july i believe i'll get the information out to you if anybody wants to go over i just need to know we'll tour the school and tour the cottages and then have our meeting um and they'll feed us a dinner elliot for us it's awesome i too
have been out a lot with my camera the if you have not been out to explore our county with all of the water we've had this year my goodness the wildflowers and the it's it's amazing i've seen more colors of paintbrush this year than i think i have ever seen and i bet i photographed every one of them 50 times a lot of the things you haven't even seen for years and the the bitter root has been amazing i went up on the top of sandra the other day and there was just an ocean of pink that's about this tall because it's just it's all blooming so if you haven't been out get out we're blessed to live where we live and um we should take advantage of of of it so that's all i
have dr flanagan just a couple quick things um i attended the governor's ride session uh last week that was um they're going around the state to get input for this ride movement from the governor which has to do with education and improving our education across the state um jody was there with me and we had a couple of other staff members that that took time out to go not a very big group there maybe 10 of us total um kind of just some table top discussions i think they gave us three prompts one had to do with what do we think is working really well that we don't want them to mess with kind of thing as they work through this process what are areas we feel like could be improved on and i think
the last one was what did we feel like was the most critical next step kind of for the work so i know they're compiling that from all of the listening sessions across the state and um i think i sent to you and i can resend if you need me to um they're having some virtual ones so if you're interested in sitting in and weren't able to make it to one of them face to face there are virtual ones coming up in july so we'll see where that goes i think it'll be interesting most of our positions are filled we're still looking for a if position and a academic coach at the high school and a kinder teacher other than that we have um we have several uh classified openings but we typically don't start looking
for those until later in july earlier in august so we'll we'll get those opened and start looking to hire those but our staff is coming together and um feeling pretty good about having a good quality staff um next year and um just a reminder that in july we only have one meeting so it'll be on the 20th i visited with jody and lynette a little bit at our pre-board meeting regarding whether you felt the need for another budget work session they didn't feel like there was really a need for that but i said i'd discuss it with the rest of you we had a pretty good presentation for matt at our last work session before our board meeting um i think for those of you that weren't there he's happy to sit and talk with
you and go through the powerpoint and fill you in and answer any questions you might have i think the budget's going to be pretty straightforward um so i don't know that we need to spend more time in a work session for the budget unless you feel like we need to no i personally don't okay it was pretty clear we're finishing up the new pay scale so um those are coming together and we're going to be able to i think do some good things for our staff across the district all staff in every every classification and every pay scale so that's awesome yeah excited about that that's all i've got all right thank you anybody wish to address the board jim [Laughter] just one quick thing on um got contacted some information here for this program
