[Music] Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Good evening. If everyone could make their way to their seats, we'll get the evening started in just a few minutes. So, please make your way to your seats and we'll get the evening started. [Music] Ha! Heat! [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Yeah. Heat. [Music] Hey. All right. Good evening. [Music] Good evening and welcome to the 2025 Brookfield High School Academic and Athletic Celebration of Excellence. This is always one of my Thank you, Jonah. One of my favorite ceremonies of the year because we get to recognize our best and brightest students for what they've accomplished in school, in sports, and in the community. There's a few people I want to make sure that I recognize uh that are here. I saw a few of you, so I apologize. I did

see at least one board member. I saw Mrs. Greenstein here. I also saw our superintendent. Uh Dr. Burrell is here as well. We have several presenters who you'll hear from you'll see later. Um our from the community as well as our administrators here at the high school. Um Mr. Abrago, Mr. Hill, Mrs. Shidy, and Dr. Spencer is here as well. Um also, thank you to our I think most are peer counselors or students earning their community service hours, uh handing out programs as you walk in the door. So, thank you. But the biggest thanks really have to go to Rosa Hopcraft who's sitting over here, Lisa Genevies, and Mary Ne. They do the majority of the work and I just stand up here and read. Um, so thank you very much for all your help.

Um, the next slide is going to outline our program for the evening. Um, but I want to explain the process for the students. So, a few of the students have asked me, "What am I supposed to do?" Uh, so typically when we get to an award, the slide will have the title and a description. Uh, if we have a guest that's presenting an award tonight, whether it be one of our uh, community members or it's administrator here in the district, uh, they're going to come to the table in front of the stage that's right up here in front. Uh, and then that's you do that when you see the title and hear the name of the award. I'll read a brief description and the last big reveal, the name will come along with a picture.

Uh the student or students will come to the area in front of the stage to receive their award. We're going to come over there after you get your award, shake hands. You're going to come in front of the backdrop and we have some pictures to be taken. Uh and then the students will return to their seats. All right. The pictures that are going to be taken will then be posted and shared with everyone. So parents, I know it can be a little bit you're further away, but you'll get a chance to certainly see the closer up pictures of the students with their awards. And now it's time to move on to the first one because well there's only 108 more slides. I wish I was exaggerating. I'm not. But I promise it'll be quicker than

my first year as I was reminiscing with uh uh Mr. Brena and uh Dr. Burell. My first year uh we had separate athletic and academics awards and the academic awards took 3 hours. Um we're not going to take three hours tonight. we are going to put together a presentation that's going to highlight the best and brightest here at Brookfield High School and give them the honors they deserve. So, here's our agenda. You'll see after the pledge, we're going to go to uh 2025 department awards. Then you're going to see the presidential awards. We'll move on to undergraduate awards and some specific class of 2025 recognition. So, I'm going to invite at this point in time the president of the class of 2025, Ava Termato, to come to the podium. Everyone please stand. I pledge allegiance

to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Ava's the constant con consumate pro. She got up here, said the first words, and stepped back and let me take care of the rest. So, on to the class of 2025 department scholars. Each department of Brookfield High School recognizes a 12th grade student as their department scholar. Each of these students will receive a departmental scholar pin to wear at the graduation ceremony. So, our first one is humanities, the English department scholar. 007Andre. I told her I was going to mess up her name first right off the gate. No. Everybody watch. Everybody watching what she's doing, right? Turn it over. Shaking hands. Good.
