001somebody's face and then if you feel more comfortable you can turn it back off but um so tonight we have the public budget forum and we have um all of our key administrators here and so at this point we'd like to open it up to the public to make comments ask questions and hopefully you've gotten a chance to take a look at the budget presentation and listen to our december board meetings and if you have any questions then um the floor is yours so who would like to go first can i go first sure okay so my name is matty preston i live at 17 crestview drive and i'm here tonight to ask for your support for a gymnastics team at the brookfield high school i have done gymnastics privately for several years and to
002be able to represent our school would be a great honor it would be fun to work with teammates while learning important values such as respect teamwork and preservation thank you thank you maddie um i'd like to go next my name is catherine brooks i live at 21 crestview drive i think it would be great if brookfield added gymnastics the sports they offer so that kids who can't afford it afford to do it outside of school can still enjoy it thank you very much we'll be pleased to hear that it is currently um something that we are considering it's currently uh in the budget proposal and uh we certainly appreciate your advocacy i think those are our only two members of the public right now yeah rosa if i could just share a little bit with
003the girls i think it's first of all so proud of them for uh having the uh the courage at their young age to come on to a public forum like this and and uh exercise their uh their their citizen uh citizenry it's uh it's exciting to see them and uh they as you said rosa uh it is in the superintendent's uh budget proposal to bring gymnastics into brookfield high school uh we have to thank mr baldwin and mr bellanda for the work on that at the high school and then bringing that forward to the um administrative team and ultimately obviously bringing that forward at the beginning of december and that is still in the budget proposal to the board of education uh rosa just so you know we did put a school message out regarding
004the um budget hearing prior to the holidays and on monday when we returned from the winter recess uh as well as posting it on facebook today so we have advertised this meeting yes usually these are not very well attended so i'm not surprised so similar to our budget hearing that we had in the fall you know how long do you guys want to sort of hang on and just look at each other we'll have plenty of time to look at each other this evening yeah that's true and likely the bulk of our conversation this evening will be the budget proposal i would i would recommend we give it till 10 after which is two or three minutes from now and if nobody comes by then that's been plenty of time yeah okay i'm comfortable with
