001I'm going to call this meeting the special meeting of the board of education for November 10th 2023 uh for the purposes of Union uh ratification of the collective partying agreement with Canton um Education Association so um anybody have any questions about the contract that you received or uh any questions with me no okay then has the board of Finance been involved here at any level yes uh Ken was involved the whole way through and came to all the meetings so he he was aware of it I did have some conversation with some other uh Board of Finance members uh about the negotiation how well I thought it went no concerns good any other questions all right I'll take a motion to read move at the C Board of Education approve the collective bargaining agreement with
002the Canton Education Association for July 1st 2024 through June 30th 2027 can I have a motion Russell thank you second Erica first and second any further discussion on the uh on the contract yeah so uh one thing um the the union part of the the process is they get to go through the contract red line after they ratify at the ratified it the other day and now they were just meaning there's a couple housekeeping things that they got to change the one thing is the contract reads up 183 days they got to change it to 182 as we know that we have um days for them I thought it was 181 we voted on the calendar 181 that's a board decision we could do 82 according to the contract right but the teachers have 183
003work days correct correct but in the the contracts instructional days it's reading 183 within negotiations we bring it down to 182 even though in the the proposed calendar we have 181 but if we wanted to do 182 we can so it's actually 187 work teach work days it's still 186 work days that hasn't changed but constructional days it's listed in there right now it's a type forgot to change it it's 183 days in there it should be 182 and then for the vote um you're GNA have to ask since it's online rich said that each member has to say yes or no bed upon online okay so I think Felicia and Ryan just joined just so you know we were just it's specifically about the uh the Canton Education Association contract it's a three-year contract
004I think you all had a chance to take a look at it George said there's just a couple modifications that need to be made and then I will resign the contract so we're good to ratify it so we don't have to have another meeting so any further questions on anything that I just said or what Dr grman just said I just have a question about how many days does the state uh require 180 okay so that would not change right no so we for the proposed calendar we have 181 school days for next year but if the following year we wanted to go to 182 we can because the contract allows us to do that okay any other questions and I'm going to I'm going to call a roll vote I'm calling your name for
