The first student that I'm going to bring up after our national anthem is Danner. But for now, I'd love if you could stand and join us in the singing of our national anthem. Oh, say can you see Lees. for Silver star. Thank you, M. >> Oh, no, you're fine. I was just gonna say give these friends a minute to sit so that we can hear everything. 003the second panther. Welcome to Kar Technical High School. We are glad to have you here to say thank you for your service and the deeds you have done for our country. Whether you serve in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard, where gratitude is great. My name is Dana Agara. I plan to enlist into the Air Force as I want to learn the great values of this country and represent them strongly while learn new skills and challenge myself. I want to be able to give back to the people who someway gave thanks to us. I'd like to invite Dr. Hillier, our school principal, forward to say a few words. Hey, thank you. Good morning everyone. I'd like to take this opportunity to formally welcome everyone to the WFKer Technical High School's annual

Veterans Day ceremony. I'm very pleased and honored to speak to you at this time. I'm Dr. Dr. Ken Hillier, principal of Kanor Technical High School, and is my privilege to once again pay homage to those who have served to help preserve our freedom and our rights, which we are all so very fortunate to have. I would also like to welcome all of our veterans, members of the armed forces, family members, visitors, students, and staff to this very moving and humbling program. Like to ask, I know we've done it a few times, but could we give all of our veterans a round of applause? Thank you to our chorus, the singing panthers, under the direction of our musical director, Miss Sarah Patel, our culinary arts program, including chefs Joseph Ion and Justin Williams, and the other

members of the Canaan Canor administrative team, Dr. Paul Bazano and Dr. Tanya Saladon, for coordinating this program. As we honor our veterans today, I would like to ask everyone to take a few moments and thank either someone in their family or someone that they know who has served in the armed forces and certainly give them the respect that they so deserve. In closing, I would like to thank everyone for coming today. I ask that you relax and enjoy the program because it is really a very special event here at Kanger. So once again, thank you and welcome. Thank you. Thank you, Dr. Hillary. My name is Alexandra Lopez and we will one day be sitting in your seat as we come together as a nation to celebrate the 250 years of great American experiment, the

birth of our incredible nation. realize that this would not be possible without each every one of you. All of the members who have served in our armed forces. Hello, my name is Avery and I want to join the Marine Corps because it'll challenge me and shape me into the best version of myself that I can be. I want to earn the title of being a Marine and be one of the few and the proud because it's an honor that not everyone gets and serving will keep me physically strong, open doors to opportunities that I wouldn't get anywhere else and allow me to see the world while giving back to my country. And most of all, I want to serve so that others won't have to. I'm going to hand it back over to Alexandra. >>

[clears throat] >> My name is Alexandra Lopez. Joining the Air Force will grant me the opportunity to gain more education, experience, and knowledge that will help me grow into a stronger and more disciplined person. For a long time, I used to think that the military was for people who were extremely smart and brave and physically strong. I could never see myself doing it like that. But all that changed three years ago when my sister joined the army. Watching her courage, determination, and the pride in serving our country completely shifted my mindset and inspired me to follow her footsteps. Ever since then, I've been passionate about the Air Force and I have dreamed of serving as an active duty member. I know that it will challenge me in ways that I've never experienced before. And I'm

ready to work hard, stay focused, and push myself beyond my limits. I hope my hope is to build a successful career in the Air Force while inspiring others and especially those who doubt themselves to realize that they too can achieve something greater and serve with pride. At this time, we'd like to invite the community outreach manager of the city of Waterberry, Mr. Trayvon Diaz, to come up and speak with us. Good morning everyone. I'll be very brief uh but I just wanted to say a few remarks on behalf of your mayor uh Mayor Paul Perooki and the city of Waterberry. Uh and I especially want to thank those that invited us today. It's an honor to be a part of today's uh ceremony. The mayor unfortunately could not be here. He's hung up on something

else. So he sent his doppelganger to be in his place. For those of you who haven't learned what doer is yet, it's somebody that looks exactly like the mayor, [laughter] you'll get it later. Um, so I just wanted to start off, you know, with the mayor's sentiment. Two deeply sincere words that a lot of the veterans are going to hear a little too much today, but also not enough. Thank you. On behalf of the mayor, thank you. What you've done for this country and for the communities like ours can't be summed up in just a few words, but our gratitude can't. I know the mayor has family that has served. I have two brothers, two out of four brothers that have served in the army as well as the Air Force. So, this morning's thank

you isn't just words. It's it's how we feel. It's what we mean. We also want to honor the sacrifice and the example that you all have made for these young folks and our nation. And we want to let you know that we have continued we have you in our hearts a continued presence in our hearts and we uh we connect with you resonate with you and to uh principal Hillard Tanya and others. Uh to the students and staff thank you for honoring today's service. The fact that you take, excuse me, the fact that you've taken time to gather, to listen, to learn, uh, speaks volumes about the community we're building here in the city of Waterbury. And again, to the veterans, we appreciate you deeply. If there's ever anything that we can do on your

behalf, uh, if there's ever any way we can honor you as within the mayor's office, we would love to do that. And to everyone who's made this day possible, we appreciate you. On behalf of the mayor, thank you so much. Thank you, Miss Garcia. My name is Cassidy and I am interested in joining the United States Air Force. I think it will challenge mentally and physically and allow me to serve my country. I am drawn to the Air Force because of its emphasis on discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities I value and wish to further develop. To have the opportunity to contribute to national security and work with cutting edge technology motivates me to pursue a career in the Air Force. I believe it will allow me to grow personally and professionally. >> At this time,

the choir would like to perform song of the song for the unsung era. >> Yes. I just want to take a moment to share the words that we're going to be singing. Um, sometimes they get lost in the beauty of the music. Um, but we're going to be singing Let us sing for unsung heroes. Those who lay their dreams aside, choosing honor, sorry, more than glory, pledging faith with quiet pride. Those whose uniform is courage yet are unashamed of tears. Finding in their love of freedom power stronger than their fears. star. Yes. Shake those sweet Stop. [music] Maybe voiceless Insane. Still sing. Sleeping. Sorry. Thank you, Miss Patel, and our Canor concert choir. We'd like to acknowledge Dr. Brazano and our information technology shop for their hard work and their slideshow to honor all of

those we love who have served in our country that are part of our Kenor school community. Let's take a look at at the end of incredible women and men who serve this great country and tides right here in this very school. If tomorrow all the things were gone, I'd work for all my life and I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
