I'm going to call the meeting to order at 7:01. Um before we uh rise for the pledge of allegiance, I'm going to ask everybody to please remain standing for a moment of silence after the pledge as we would like to hold a moment of silence in honor of our CCHS class of 2025 graduate Logan Malone. Logan passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 19th. His presence in the CCSD was from kindergarten through 12th grade, and he will always be remembered by his kindness and his care of others. Logan studied heavy machinery at our BoseC tech program and was quite talented in that area. We share our deepest condolences with Logan's family and we ask that you keep um close in your thoughts. At this time, we move on to recognition of visitors. This is our first

opportunity for public comment. Each speaker is asked to come to the microphone, state their name, and limit comments to three minutes. We ask that all comments remain respectful and comply with the board policy. There will be no dialogue between speakers and the board. The portion of public comment will be limited to 30 minutes. There are microphones at either end of the table if anyone would like to come forward. Okay, moving on to our presentations. I'd like to invite Mr. Rinsky to join us to present on music in our schools. >> I'm sorry. >> Sorry, Mr. Ainsky just got trumped. So, you're gonna have to wait a minute down. Um, hey, hello everyone. Uh, so I am Dr. Kate Esnazar and I'm here with uh up uh UPK for Cornwall. I am Kristen Chhatitus. I'm also

with UPK. Um, I'll go ahead and start. Um, Cynthia couldn't join us, so very big shoes to fill, so give me hopefully I get a little bit of grace. Um, but uh, so I know we were able to get everybody off the wait list, which is like amazing. Um, thank you guys for all of the work, everybody that works on this. Um, there was some families I know that declined. So, I'd really love to ask if it's possible to maybe think about surveying those families who had to decline, whether it's, you know, just to figure out kind of how we can move forward in this process and the lottery and making it more accessible of a program. I think, um, you know, we anticipate that we know a lot of the reasons, but um, possibly

asking how we can kind of get an accurate representation of what's not serving the community would be like amazing. um with that how we're kind of underserving families with twins and multiples. Um personally twin mom and I speak with a lot of the twin parents within the district who are underserved by our lottery system. Um as well as possibly looking at adding another provider um for next year. I know the RFPs came in and they're probably being reviewed. You John for giving those to me. Um and so just looking at those providers to add more options and things um for the community. >> Okay. And then um the other couple of things that we wanted to mention was uh the idea of establishing a committee. Ideally, um, what we kind of had in mind was

that this would be a partnership with the district, um, with both parents and perhaps a member of the board, an admin, maybe a representative for the provider, but something where we could kind of share ideas on how we can better serve parents and better serve meet the needs of our students. And then kind of our last request is since um the cost of the seats is essentially kind of a flow through this next year um would it be possible to perhaps on a rolling basis to have approval um so that way if we do expand beyond the 118 seats that are current um we would be able to go up to the 137 which are the funds provided by the state. Um we're happy to provide uh these five points over email um for a

response or to look forward to a response at a following meeting. But thank you so much. >> Thank you guys. >> If you could send those an email, that would be helpful. Thank you. >> Any other public comment? Raise your hand so I don't uh skip over you. Okay. Now, I'll invite Mr. to come up and give music in our schools. Thank you. >> Hey, good evening. Uh, one of the best parts about my job is definitely uh, honoring all of our students and showcasing all all the amazing things they do over the years. So, thank you so much for giving me some of your time to do that. I'm going to start by bringing up some of our state musicians and I'm going to read some stuff about them and how awesome they are.

Uh, the ones we have in house today are Hudson Alakan, uh, Fiala Query, and Sigy Johnson. Can you guys come on up with me so we could all awkwardly stand here and smile? Um, this here. Yeah. Uh this year uh and every year the New York State Band Directors Association puts uh together a 3-day honor band festival in Syracuse. Um the students um from all over the state audition and are hand selected to perform in either the jazz ensemble which is only 18 students and or the symphonic band which is only 100 students again from around the entire state. Uh this year we had two students selected to participate in these ensembles. Um Hunter Olsen, who isn't able to be here with us today, was the second trombone player in the jazz ensemble, one of

only four trombones from around the entire state. Uh Hunter spent the weekend working with a Grammy nominated musician uh who is known for playing gigs ranging from Cuchala to uh Carnegie Hall. Uh he had an amazing time. Hudson Alakon uh was the second trumpet in the symphonic band. Again, a very select group. Hudson had the privilege of premiering a new composition uh which was made for this festival. Over the weekend, Hudson was able to work with the composer in preparation for the concert and the world premiere. So that was our Nisbeta uh honores and then we're also going to go into our allstate honores from NISMA. Uh each year approximately 6,500 sophomores and juniors prepare a NISMA solo uh in the hopes of being considered for a spot in an all state honors ensemble. This

year's Cormal High School is happy to announce that we had stu two students who had been selected for this honor and with three selected as alternates. Uh Fiala Quarry and Sydney Johnson were selected for the 2025 Allstate mix course. Both receiving perfect scores in their all-state solos last spring. Uh they performed at the All State concert on Sunday, December 7th in the gorgeous Kodak Hall at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Uh this concert was a culminating performance of not only the hours of work they spent in rehearsals uh beginning Thursday December 4th but years of practice and lessons mastering their instrument. In addition to Fiala Insigni who were up at the festival we had like I said three alternates uh being representing Cornwall Punter Olsen Hudson Alakan and Christian Moyek were also

very uh were our alternates this year. So, uh, Christian is also not able to join us, but I wanted to take this opportunity to honor and recognize these amazing All State musicians. So, congratulations, guys. Oh, sorry. Oh, no, that's fine. Oh, sorry. >> All right. So, sign >> perfect so much. Congratulations, guys. This is your And this will then segue um into the K12 music in our schools month update. And let's see if I can do this technology right because my students know this is not my forte. Buffering maybe. Hope I don't have to tap dance. Jose, we're good. I'm not good at it. I've tried. Mrs. Carter has tried her best to get me to tap dance. Okay. If I do this. Yes. No. Oh, present. I got backup. Yeah, I wouldn't have found

that. Okay. Thank you guys. All right. other part of the job. Here we go. Um, as March was music in our schools month, the CCSD music department wanted to share some good news. This past fall, we hosted two large uh county and state events uh for the top musicians in the area. Both of these events brought in highly accomplished conductors to work with outstanding high school musicians. Over 40 high schools were involved with the state performance and all involved appreciated the hospitality that CCSD continues to provide. All of our musicians performed well at their winter concerts over the past few months. Thanks to all who came to watch and especially to their parents for continuing to support and encourage our student musicians to strive for excellence. Students at CO and Willow A Elementary uh were

are blending technology and creativity through an exciting steam experience in the music classroom. They're using Mackie Mackie kits. Uh students are turning everyday objects into working musical instruments. The fourth grade band and orchestra students participated in our instrumental recital on March 3rd. 113 students, fourth graders performed as a soloist or in a small group. The CCMS band was uh busy during the holiday season and continued its annual treelighting performance. Along with this, they played the annual readaths across America at St. Canterbury, sorry, St. Thomas of Canterbury. February was a busy month uh for the CCSD music department. There's like those downtime, right? Nope. It's a busy year. So, we keep going. Uh, February 4th, uh, the eighth graders of the orchestra and the band, uh, visited the high school to learn about the high school

program and help the transition into the high school for next year. The CCSD band students had their band expo on February 10th. Uh, every band in the district played a song for each other and then they closed the concert with all of them playing America the Beautiful with just under 339 students performing together. The CCSD orchestra students will have their string showcase this May. Last month, the Where am I at? Here we go. Last month, the high school had their 20th annual ac capella night, which featured our concert choir, treble choir, and ac capella groups. All these groups worked with the Maris College University's ac capella group that night to polish the performances for the evening. The CCHS drama club's fall production of the musical comedy murders in 1940s was a great success. New this

year, the club had designated crew chiefs uh in addition to casting the show and helping to make all the behindthe-scenes magic happen. The CCMS drama club recently produced Mary Poppins. Uh they had 150 participants either on stage or backstage. Rehearsals started in December and two of their three formal performances sold out in the auditorium. The CCHS drama club and music department just closed music the Mean Girls um this past weekend and it was so fetch. Um sorry I just had to say it that way. Um this pop musical featured 150 students either on stage, backstage or in the pit. The elementary PTO drama clubs have also been busy this year. Back in January, the CES PTO produced an amazing performance of Spongebob with 120 students performing. And last month, the CO PTO produced a thrilling

performance of Into the Woods with 90 students performing. Uh the Willow A PTO production of Music Man will be opening on Thursday. So, we have had many successful auditions this past year, and many of our students have been accepted into honor ensembles around New York State. These students prepared a challenging audition piece and rose to the top of uh to be selected uh into these prestigious ensembles. Uh board of ed I had given you guys this spiel if you want. On the back is a list of all those kids' names if you want to take a look at those. Uh I will not read all their names but I'm going to uh kind of just kind of go through some of the statistics. Um we had two all-state musicians and with three alternates and then

we had our two NISBA uh musicians who you had met today. We had 25 area all state zone 9 musicians which is actually double number from last year. Uh we had 40 high school allcount musicians, nine jazz all county musicians, 21 junior high school allcount musicians and 25 elementary allcount musicians. Uh some of these festivals are up here. Some of these festivals haven't quite happened yet. So we are still rocking and rolling through all of our festivals. Um and it's new this year uh during uh music in our schools month. Uh we were delighted to celebrate the very first uh music spirit week districtwide. Uh we enjoyed seeing students in every grade from kindergarten to seniors. Plus some administrators and staff got into the fun uh to celebrate their love for music. So year's not

over yet. So we got our spring concerts. But in addition to all that, we have a bunch of other stuff happening. The CCHS Jazz Combo Jazz Appreciation Month concert will be happening. The uh many students will be heading to the NISMA solo festivals. Uh we have our CCSD string showcase. Um the dance team and sound lab showcase will be happening at the high school. The CCHS music department will be headed to Dorney Park for an adjudication. Uh we have our third grade instrumental petting zoo for the instruments. And of course our two festivals, the junior high and the elementary county festivals are still to come. So, as always, we thank you for your continued support of the arts here at CCSD and noticing the importance that it has for these young adults as they grow

up to make the world a better place. So, thank you for all your continued support. Again, love this part of my job, being able to showcase all of our amazing students and all of what they do. So, thank you for your time. >> The board have any questions, comments? I have a comment. I was fortunate enough to go to uh Sunday's play Mean Girls. I got to tell you, awesome. It was terrific. I I it just I couldn't I couldn't believe it. In fact, I grabbed you right afterwards. And what a great show. I mean, if you ever get I'll never miss another play. I can tell you that right now. It was awesome. It was awesome. >> Just one more comment. I Oh, so go ahead, Loftton. Go ahead. Yeah, Tony, we're not done

with praising you. >> Yeah. No, I was just gonna say I saw Mean Girls as well. I saw it on Friday night and it was phenomenal and uh everybody did a great job from the orchestra. I loved that you could see the orchestra. I loved that y'all added that so that we could see them uh back in the band room. >> They were back. We had 70 students back in the band room. to help facilitate that was um the new sound system helped facilitate all that stuff this year. So >> that was wonderful and I loved that they got to be showcased as well and we got to see who was back there performing and um and yeah, everybody did a great job. Um and I'm I was a musical theater major so I I

uh I have a high standard but you guys did a great job. Um, and also to all of our instrumentalists. I was an all-state player, so I know how much practice you guys put in. And you know, that work ethic is going to serve you guys so well later in life. Um, and so congratulations and and well done on that as well. Thank you. >> I I got to make sure that I say this again, that play professional. I'm I mean, if you ever want to see a professional play, go to it. It's just it was amazing. I just I was I couldn't believe it. So, I just want to keep telling you that. >> No, thank you. Yeah. I mean, we're very lucky with the staff we have, but we the kids also take

our crazy ideas. So, >> yeah. Unbelievable. >> No, thank you. >> Yeah. Um, just to uh Tony, thank you for for the presentation, everything. I just one uh one thing I wanted to point out, you you brought up the, you know, the CES show and all the the elementary shows. So, we do our CES show. I say we, I probably can't say that anymore, you know, in a in a few months. Um, we would do it at the high school. And Tony has always been like so accommodating, but not only accommodating, but using it as a moment for him to teach his high school kids how to help produce the show. So, they're in the booth. They're, you know, kind of like just running around uh backstage. I I would always say sometimes I would

look for the high school volunteers before other people because they are the most helpful and on top of everything. So big kudos kudos to that. And also one thing in particular, I know you always do this, but it always touches me as like an important moment. Right before we do our shows, Tony does the sound check. So everybody comes out, everybody that's miked up, and it's a great experience for these kids that are in fourth grade to have somebody that in their mind is like, you know, he's like the top of the mountain, right? But he comes down and he does the the sound check with them and is always would always be very encouraging uh very supportive of these kids who are about to do something maybe the biggest thing that they've done up

to that point and it's always just like a nice moment to observe and I just really appreciate all the time that you've put in to that program even though it's not really on like your list of things very long list of things to do. Um but I appreciate you like kind of extending that throughout the district and just making that all these programs stronger. So, thank you. >> Cool. Thank you. >> And I'll just add one quick thing. Sorry, Jim. We do have before everybody leaves because most of the people in the audience here are for this part. Uh, we do have some of our stars of the show here, and this was part of my presentation, so I'll just give them the shout out now. We have Mave who played um, oh my gosh,

Gretchen, who is the original Sofetch. Good job, >> Jocelyn who nailed it in the pit. And again, I agree with you, Loftton. It was so cool to see that up on up on the screen. We have our own Fiala Regina and we have Sydney who played uh Dawn and I don't know who uh Mrs. Wilham she was a French teacher. >> Who else? No, >> Hudson was in the pit. So who else? Hudson was in the pit. So >> Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you either. Yes. So congratulations to all of you guys. It was amazing. I do want to add one more thing that the program is great here but we do have many CCSD graduates in the business in the field performing uh in you know huge orchestras huge bands um Broadway

off Broadway all around the country. So um and technicians like all over the place. So um it's definitely a starting moment but it's nice to see them continuing to do this as a as a major gig in their lives. So thank you I got one for you. So, I actually have a question. Uh, but I I will say first just thank you for your presentation. I won't uh repeat what everybody else said, but great to see obviously the success um and the honors that uh a lot of these students have earned, but just the participation is great, too. Just to see that across all levels. Um, and it's a really great presentation to have on the heels of Mr. Simo's presentation last week, just all of those extracurricular opportun opportunities are are really great that

our students uh across several levels get to participate in those. My question is on your you said you had a >> what are you doing at Dornney Park? >> Uh the high schoolers are going for an adjudication. >> What is an adjudication? >> Um >> that was my question. Thank you. >> Three of the groups will be preparing selections to perform for college professors type deal. we go perform the per in the morning and then we go to the park for the day. Um and then we get comments and feedback and stuff like that. So um that'll be on a Saturday in June. So the year does not end yet. >> You're welcome. >> Thanks guys. >> I was just going to add you know Loftton when you spoke about seeing the pit on the

screen. So I don't I have a child who was in theater but not uh in the pit part of it. And I learned this phrase called collective effervescence, which is essentially when you have a shared um emotional experience. So I'm the person that these aren't even my kids and I'm choking up crying like watching people perform, you know? And so when you're there and you get that feeling, that's what that's called. It's called collective effervescence. It could be at a huge rock concert where you're together or it could be at, you know, the high school show or middle school show or whatever. But um it is a shared experience between a community of people when you're watching others perform. So, uh, thank you for allowing us that opportunity, Mr. Vivinsky. Um, I always say if

there were state champions in, you know, theater and music, Cornwall would be right at the top. I mean, all state and all of that is that, but, you know, if they were the kind of like public things that people came to and and were cheering for the competition, um, your your folks would certainly be at the top. So, congratulations on an incredible program. >> So, and thank you for your presentation, >> Christine. I I just wanted to >> say how good it was again. >> Yeah. Well, we've already done that, but I you know what? >> I just wanted to see. >> Let's Let's move over to the band because I didn't bring up anything about the band and and you guys do an awesome job. Um I was a French horn player. I didn't

last long about 3 months and he asked me if I would find something else to do and um so it wasn't the band anymore. So, but you guys did a great job and congratulations. >> You >> Thanks a lot, guys. >> Thanks. Okay, moving on to our other uh reports. We now have our uh student representatives. We'll hear from Mave and Joselyn. Thank you. >> Hi guys. So, our good news from Willow, the character trait for April is a sense of humor. Students at Willow Avenue are full of laughter as they share their jokes with us each morning on on the morning announcements. Our third and fourth graders will be taking the New York State ELA assessment this week. They've worked extremely hard all school year and we know that they will do their best.

Kindergarten students are showing their math their math smarties. Number partners is their math theme. Spring is an exciting time of year for our first graders. Students are becoming stronger readers every day, making it a great time to visit the local library. We have even been learning We have even been learning time and money skills. We put our new learned concepts into action during our movie theater day. On that day, we participated in various activities such as movie time, practice activities, and buying our tickets and snacks. Third graders are reading their Peter Pan and ELA and practicing their reading skills by analyzing the characters motivations, actions, and traits, and how it relates to the plot. Our fourth graders are beginning to prepare for their transition to middle school. Mrs. Palumbo came to visit our fourth graders

before spring break. And our fourth graders visited the middle school this month. While there, they went on a scavenger hunt and got to ask some professional middle schoolers all of their questions. They are definitely ready for middle school. For Earth Day, students at Willow Avenue will be celebrating with activities and participating in a dayong celebration of why it is important to be kind to the earth. >> Uh good news from uh Colonel Hudson. The first grade visited Black Rock Forest on April 6. It was their second visit to Black Rock where they reviewed hiking rules, how to read the trail blazes, and looked for evidence of animal presence when hiking around the Upper Reservoir Educator Trail. It was a nice way to get back in the swing of things after spring break and enjoy our

planet in preparation for Earth Day. ELA state testing took place on April 14th and 15th. The students put forth their best efforts and the entire faculty and staff was very proud of how the students handled the challenge in of taking the computer-based state tests. The testing went very smoothly with minimal disruption to the K through2 students. Math-based state testing will take place on May 6th and 7th. On April 22nd, the PTO will host Earth Day in the garden. Volunteers are w will welcome a master gardener who will guide students in preparing the garden for the growing season. Throughout the spring, the PTO has planned a variety of garden-based experiences for students during the school day and at recess. We are all looking forward to seeing the results and the fruits of their hard work. On

April 23rd, the Skyab will be making an exciting visit to CO. Students in grades 1 and two will have a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of the night sky right under their own gymnasium. This immersive experience will bring stars, planets, and constellations to life, and we are eager uh eagerly looking forward to the amazing sites it will offer. Looking ahead, the PTO is hosting their annual talent show on Friday, April 24th, beginning at 6 PM in the CO auditorium. Come see the many talents of the students at CO. In the past, acts have included a comedian, gymnasts, dancers, and magicians. It should be a very entertaining evening. Then from Lee Road, our students had an incredible interactive assembly with Nick Rule, the award-winning author and illustrator of the bestselling Bad Kitty series. It was

a wonderful opportunity for our children to engage directly with the author and have their book signed by him. Our fourth grade student council members also got a chance to sit down with Mr. Brule and ask him questions. The author visit was even covered in a recent edition of the Cornwall local. Reading just got a whole lot cooler. The hall is a lot brighter at CES. Our first book vending machine generously provided by the PTO. It is officially open to our students. As part of our PBIS program, our students can cash in their hard-earned dragon dollars for a book token and choose any book they would like. There are many interesting choices. We can't wait to see which genre our students will pick. Our third grade students took a trip to Black Rockck Forest and completed

their salamander study. They looked for salamanders and went to a vernal pond to search for amphibians. Second grade students also took a trip to Black Rockck where they completed a hike and worked on their bird watching skills. This month, our fourth grade students got to meet man's best friend right in their classrooms. As part of the Hudson Valley Pause for a Cause program, they had the unique opportunity to learn how well-trained service dogs can provide essential aid and independence to those living with disabilities. Next month, our students are looking forward to participating in the Cornwall School District's annual Steam Expo at the high school. Our fourth graders will be performing in the spring concert, and our second graders will be taking a trip to the Cornwall Historical Society. Welcome spring and a great month for

all all of our elementary school students. >> Uh good news from the middle school. Miss Palumbo and Miss Burton visited all of the fourth grade classrooms to kick off our fifth grade transition and orientation program. CCMS is very excited to meet these eager and enthusiastic students when they come for a visit with their classes. CCMS has offered a wide variety of tutorials to provide students uh s provide supports to students in a multitude of areas. These in conjunction with our regular clubs and afterchool activities programs allow most of our students to stay and enjoy time with their classmates, friends, and teachers. We are very excited. The CCMS drama club presented Mary Poppins the musical performing to soldout shows. A musical is a stage adaptation of the PL Travers Stories and 1964 Disney film focusing on

the dysfunctional Banks family in the n in 1910 London. Nanny Mary Poppins arrived to bring orders to children Jane and Michael using magic and joy to transform the family. Thank you to Miss Molton, Miss Horn, Mr. Baxter, Miss Firestone, and Miss Reikov, and all of their amazing parent and all of the amazing parent volunteers who helped our students have a truly magical performance. And then finally, our good news from the high school. On March 13th, the CCHS music department hosted a capella night featuring the CCHS Concert Choir, Trouble Choir, Love Notes, and Trouble in Paradise. This past weekend, the CCHS drama club and music department held the musical Mean Girls. We are constantly impressed and proud of our talented musicians and their dedication to the arts. AP exams are upon us. From May 4th to

May 15th, AP exams will be taking place. Best of luck to all the students taking them. Junior prom takes place on Friday, April 24th. Tickets um were sold on April 7th through the 9th. The CCHS AI committee meeting was held on April 15th during community lunch. Any CCHS student or faculty member is welcome to attend. For upcoming juniors and seniors, the next safe driving forum is taking place on Thursday, April 30th at 7 p.m. in the um high school auditorium. If you wish to apply for a parking spot next year, you're required to attend at least one of these forums with a parent or guardian. >> Thank you very much. And now we will uh move on to Mrs. Arjenia's report. >> Good evening. Thank you, ladies. Um just a couple of quick updates for

tonight. At last week's meeting, uh, Miss Burkart had some questions specific to UPK. One question was regarding who sets the parameters and guidelines for the program. This is a collaborative task within the district's cabinet to include the superintendent, assistant superintendent for instruction, and assistant superintendent of business in conjunction with our UPK providers. Um, this helped to set the original framework of expectations for our providers both on an educational and financial lens. We also meet with our providers throughout the year as a UPK team, including all providers, so that we have consistent expectations throughout all programs. And then annually, our UPK teachers meet with our kindergarten teachers to design curriculum, upcoming assessments to close out the year and set goals new for the next school year. Um, the next question was asked in regards to receiving

early intervention or special education services at a specific location prior to UPK if we could keep their children at that location. Ideally, we would love to do that for consistency purposes. However, the UPK is a true lottery. Um, and so placements are made based on that. Uh, with that being said, if the governor's proposal comes to fruition, we may have more room to place students. And also as a reminder, whatever services are deemed necessary for students, they would be provided and they are provided at all of our provider locations. Uh the weight list for the UPK, we have placed all of our initial families who participated in the UPK lottery. Since that time, we received four new packets in the past two weeks from families who missed the deadline. Uh one of the students from

the four was placed making our active weight list three students. Uh it's important to note that movement takes place over um often with these lists uh and will continue throughout the coming months. Uh one of the questions that was asked earlier tonight that I'll just address now um the main reasons are either student readiness uh families move from location and the number one reason is they didn't get provider preference. Um there is a secondary weight list for provider preference requests and there are currently eight students on that list. Uh, if there are any questions, I ask that anybody feels free to reach out to myself. Um, my second point was Mean Girls. We covered that, but kudos. It was amazing. Um, I found myself laughing out loud like almost embarrassingly. Um, and then we do

have our junior prom this Friday night. Just a reminder that traffic down by the river will be very busy. So, if you are in that area and you see a backup, that is why. But I encourage you to check out the kids as they're all glammed up because it's always a special event. Uh, we wish them a fun and safe night. Just as an FYI, it's that time of year again where you might see our senior class students engaging in the ultimate game of tag. Um although this is not a school sanctioned, I know you ladies know nothing about this over there. Um although this is not a school sanctioned uh event and it's completely and independently studentr run, we just want to bring it to the community's attention just to keep your eyes out

as you may see some very large children running throughout the neighborhood and perhaps your backyard like I saw today. Um fighting for the ultimate bragging rights. So my car is parked in the garage, not my car, my son's car is parked in the garage. There lots of exit strategies going on there, but we wish them all the best of luck and be safe, please. Um, and then lastly, tomorrow is administrative professionals day, and we wanted just to extend a huge thank you to all of our administrative professionals throughout our district. We would be lost without them supporting all of our offices, programs, and administrators, and we are incredibly grateful to each and every one of them as they seem to keep everything and everyone on track. So, thank you to everybody in those roles in

our district. >> Thank you, Megan. Um, I don't have much of a president's report this evening, but I do think it's worth mentioning. We did have a resignation from the board of education. Uh, Richard Shaner had um put in uh a formal resignation. I think we'll have a discussion about that later on this evening at the end of the meeting. Um, we may add motion to the agenda to have a discussion about what that means for the upcoming election, but I just wanted to let everybody know uh Richard has served the board. This is his second term. Um I I don't know if he was actually the youngest ever elected, but probably one of the youngest ever elected and has really been um very supportive of the students and the staff. You'd often see him

at you know any of the um performances, events, uh you know, induct inductions, uh visitation committee. You know, Richard was always there to support the efforts of students and staff. So I know that um you know people are are the board in particular you know we're grateful for all of his uh service and commitment and um wish him all the best uh in in you know his endeavors as he is his career is taking off so it's his time is becoming more limited. Um so with that I think we will move into our budget presentation. Um I invite Mr. to Are you giving a budget presentation? No. on the Was it on the but was it on the agenda? I'm sorry. Oh, okay. So, do we have any comments about the budget or anything? >>

So, my comment is just my understanding we are voting to adopt the uh report card, the budget report card and the consent agenda. >> Mh. >> And since we are not really adding any programs, there really isn't a discussion of programs. it was just simply about how we were going to finance the rollover budget and that's captured in the adoption of the report card. And so I maybe perhaps if there's a discussion that would be the appropriate place to have that discussion if anyone has comments. I think that I I'm won't speak for you Mr. Frank but I think the point is there isn't anything to say unfortunately because Albany has not taken any action that would have changed the discussion from the last time we gathered. So yeah, I guess it's an appropriate time

we can have that discussion. Thank you, Christian. Uh I didn't want to insult the board with a third presentation, exactly the same thing. Um because on May 5th, you're going to see the exact same presentation again for the fourth time. So um if there are any questions regarding it, there there is no more information from New York State. Um we will have the budget hearing on May 5th where you will see a very similar presentation where really the culmination of all the presentations that we've put together. We may have some additional information by then, but unfortunately today's the last day that we can adopt the budget. Um, Boseies adopts their budget this evening and we actually go to print uh tomorrow on really all of our documents. So, um, we have our draft of our

mockup uh for our ballot that our voters will see at the polls on May 19th. Um, as well as our military ballots and our absentee ballots. That all gets done tomorrow morning stat and then we start rolling. So, um the report card is the important thing to um be approved this evening because it includes our tax levy increases and all the requirements um statutory for New York New York State. I don't know if there's any other questions, >> questions, anyone comments? >> Um I don't have any questions. I you know I think we covered this all last time. just um the the on the consent agenda since we're talking about it. It's item number eight is the resolution. Um and on the printed paper, it's missing um a word increase that has been updated online.

I saw it earlier. I was going to pull it just to flag that to make sure that we all know what we're voting on. It says that it number two right now on paper it reads represents a 1,617,22 proposed levy. That should be a proposed levy increase. Um, it was corrected. I checked it on my phone. It's corrected online, but since we're talking about it, I'll mention it now just to make sure. You know, the report card is right. Just the resolution was missing one word. I think you'd be very sad that was the amount of the levy. >> We'd be having a different presentation. That's like uh the plot twist in office space and I just get the decimal wrong. >> Any other comments? Okay. So, thank you Mr. Fink. Uh we're moving on

to consent agenda. The next um any members of the board wish to have any items pulled for a separate discussion? We have agenda items 2 through eight. Christian Uh 3, seven, and eight. >> 37 and 8. Anyone else? Right. May I have a motion to approve consent agenda items 2, four, five, and six? >> So moved. >> Thank you. May I have a second? >> Second. >> Thank you, Jim. All in favor of consent agenda items 2, four, five, and six? I I >> opposed. Abstain. The motion passes. Um, okay. We'll now take up item number three separately. >> Uh, personel, >> since I pulled the items, can I, and we just came off the budget discussion. Um, can we put number can we discuss number eight first? >> Sure. May I have a a

motion for let's get to that. Uh the resolution to approve the 2026 20227 proposed budget and property tax report card. So >> moved. >> Thank you Brendan. A second. >> Second. >> Thanks Jim. Discussion question. >> I'll defer but no one else has a comment. I will. Um so I'm not going to completely recapitulate things because I think I laid out I think my logic on this at the last meeting. Um, and since there really isn't a vote to adopt the budget except to adopt the uh the financing of the budget, I think this is probably the only place where we're going to have a vote and therefore uh for the commentary on that. Um, I think several things need to be pointed out that over the last five or six years, we have a

clear trend with increased tax levies and actually funding lesser in terms of what additional needs and that trend is likely to continue. Um and it is a very kind of hard position because if you're people vote against the budget usually for two reasons. They think the budget is too large and then voting against the budget is basically serve that purpose by defeating a budget that you think is too large or inappropriate. Um the other way is that you think the budget perhaps is not correct or is not showing the right priorities or um perhaps you think the budget should be larger and the point is is that voting against that budget really doesn't help you achieve that aim because there's only one budget and basically vote up or down. Um so I've said my reasons

for this. I think that this budget is setting us up for a lot of problems down the road and I'm sure that the discussion at that time will be like this is something that came out of the sky and we don't you know you know a natural disaster and a tragic situation and we'll the pe the people on the board and the community will say you know can't help it but we're going to have to do some things we maybe don't want to do and the point about it is as I've said before all future budgets are contingent on past budgets and past decisions And so I'm going to for those reasons I'm going to vote against the property tax report guard. Um I'm going to personally and not that I'm making a political statement.

I'm going to personally vote for the budget. I'm not going to say any advocate or things but I think that I be consistent. And I'm going to register the just affirm this budget if only for future because I think the point is that the point needs to be made that decisions were made in this budget and everyone's entitled to those decisions but this is not how I would have financed this budget and I think it puts a lot of important equities at risk in our district. >> Thank you Christian. Other comments? Okay, I'd like to take a vote um on number eight. All in favor of the resolution to approve the 2026 20227 proposed budget and property tax report. All in favor? >> I >> opposed one. The motion passes. Thank you very much. Um

back to consent agenda agenda item number three, personnel actions. May I have a motion? >> Move. Thank you, Brendan. A second. >> Second. >> Thank you, Jim. Discussion, >> Christian. >> I pulled this to abstain. >> Thank you. Any other discussion? Okay. All in favor of item number three, personnel actions. >> I >> opposed, abstain. Thank you. Motion passes. And agenda item number seven. Um, may I have a motion to vote on the U Boseies board members? >> Second. >> Thank you, Brendan and Jim. Discussion >> question. So, I pulled this to uh for the purpose of voting differently. think it's an agenda, but I also think that this is an opportunity since one of the board members is being voted on is um alumni of this uh of this forum and I think it's

a good opportunity if anyone wants to as we did last year uh in in a sense I guess testify or describe or in a sense explain what this is and who these people are since I think they're known to quite a few of us and so I thought it would also be an opportunity before we take a vote if anyone would like to anything. >> Would you like to say anything? >> So, I'm voting I'm I'm pulling this to to not vote uh or to abstain from it. So, I don't think what I would have to say is is in that spirit. So, I don't I'm just going to leave it at that and give the opportunity to other people if they want to take up the baton. >> Okay. Anyone have any comments? >>

Well, I mean they are running unopposed. So, I think that's a important context. But, uh, if I'm being given the opportunity to say nice things about Larry Burgerer, I'm obviously going to take it. Um, yeah, Larry's, uh, maybe my model for what a public servant should be at the local level. So, I can offer him no higher praise. Um, yeah, I there would be nobody I would want in this position more than him. Yeah, I would be um making up number if I said how long Larry served this district, but I think it's been since my kids were in school. I remember him sitting at this day. So, um I agree. You know, definitely a public servant beyond the call of duty, so to speak. >> Yeah, and I'll chime in along with Brendan. I

served uh alongside Larry for I'd have to go back and check two years, three years, whatever it was, but um certainly he understands the role of a board member and and um what you're supposed to do and um he still serves us on our facilities committee as well. So, >> okay. So all in favor on the resolution to vote on the U Bosey's board members. >> I >> opposedaining. Okay. Thank you. The motion passes. >> So I think that covers our consent agenda. Um that moves us on to board closing comments. >> I'm sorry. Oh, thank you. Would somebody like to make a motion? >> I'd like to make Oh, sorry. >> Go ahead, Jim. You got you you you spoke first. So I think we're have the same. >> Go ahead, Jim. >> I'd

like to make a motion to add a agenda item to discuss the resignation of board member Mr. Shaner and what we can do um legally speaking the process uh with which to fill said vacancy. >> He just um he sent you an email just now. He just >> second. >> Thank you. Um discussion. I'm sorry. Uh all in favor of adding the agenda item >> I opposed. Okay. Thank you. Well, um no, I I have his letter, so we're good. Um we need a motion now to actually have the discussion. Are we good? Good. Yeah, you added to the agenda. Now we need a motion to discuss. Oh, no. It's just a discussion. We not a resolution. Okay. >> Resolution. >> So, thank you. >> Yeah. >> Not on my script. >> Um, okay. So,

we do have a resignation from Mr. Shaner effective April 21st. Um, my I we did get some guidance from legal. Uh, it came late in the afternoon and I had an all afternoon thing at work so I didn't have a chance to really digest it, but I know Mr. Frink you did. So maybe if you want to kind of give us the rundown and then we can discuss what if there's options and what we need to um decide. Thank you. >> So the uh um the current situation with the board member election is we have three seats for three-year terms beginning July 1 and one seat for a one plus year term um vacated by Eleanor Fazio. Okay. with the resignation of Richard Shaner, that would create an additional vacancy. So, we reached out to

Legal because his original date um was May 5th. So, I just want to share that openly. Legal shared with us that if the the date were to change, we still have time to update our ballots that, as I shared earlier, are being printed tomorrow. So, they're in draft form until really everything happens tonight. So on the ballot we can change the ballot if the board so chooses. That's the legal guidance. Um we can we can continue on with the current four person vote or the ballot can be changed to be a fiveperson vote. So therefore you would have your three three-year terms, one twoyear plus term for Richard um and one one-year term for Eleanor. Those seats would be u done in successive order. So the highest votes, three highest votes would get the three-year

terms. Fourth highest vote would get the two-year term and the fifth highest vote would get a one-year term. And that would be the successive order of the voting if that's the how the board wants to. The other option would be to wait and proceed as we are currently set up which is the uh four member vote and then the board could choose to fill the seat or not fill the seat and appoint a member. >> Can you share John just for the public uh the board is is privy to this information. you on this yesterday, but petitions, nominating petitions for the upcoming election were due yesterday at 5:00 pm. Can you share uh how many folks submitted their petitions and their names just uh for the public's edification? >> Sure. We had uh five members

submit as of 5:00 p.m. last night. Um, we have uh Christine Diaz, uh, Carl Gilpatrick, I have Kathleen Hand, I have a Katherine uh, Kerry, and I have a Margaret Quinn who have all submitted. So, we have five I got I got all five, right? Um, five members running for what would potentially be five seats or four seats. >> Other comments, questions? Well, go ahead. Oh, you go ahead. >> So, I'm not sure this is a comment or question, but this is an observation because exactly one year ago, we had a resignation approximately one year ago. It might be off by a day because it occurred and it was announced on the day that additions were due last year. And someone announced a resignation and made that resignation effective at the end of the term,

which is June 30th. And even before the resignation or basically concurrently with that announcement to the board and to the public uh we were told not given I mean we were told that it would be filled in the next election by the fourth. So the point is there was no even discussion. Uh so I think the point about it is simply for consistency and simp and frankly belief in a democratic process which means people on the board should be elected by the community and not selected by a board that will just reinforce whatever the majority of the board point of view might be. Um it would seem that the first option would be clearly superior and also consistent with our immediate past practice. Since we've had this discussion over the past year, as I said,

we could choose fill a vacancy by any means that we see fit. We could have them do jumping jacks. We could put lot pull lots. We could do make people stand on their head. We could give them an SAT test and compare scores. We were basically allowed to choose a process to do that. Um I when we had the vacancy earlier this year, my position I think was is that I think we should pick a process where we have the least impact where the members of the board put their thumb on the scales and we should allow that to the community and in sense respect um their preference their relative preferences for candidates and allocate their seats according to that would seem to be the most direct method and one that would um incur no

additional cost to the district since we already are paying for the election and we don't really need to reprint the ballots or John maybe we do but the point is I don't believe the ballots were reprinted last year it was just in a sense the candidates are on and there's also if people like you can write in another name um so arguably anyone else who's interested given the new information could write do a writing campaign obviously there's precedent for that recently in our community um so I guess my point about it is why would we there wasn't even a discussion of a method in the board We were just told that the our legal council at the time which was different than our current legal council said this is how it will be done. Um

and we weren't even considering the other types of ways that this vacancy can be filled. So it also so I guess my point is my observation is why would we do something differently this year than we did last year and if we are doing something differently why are we doing something differently and it just ask questions that we are picking a different method in a different circumstance as opposed to being consistent which would be I think desirable from as I said a small D democratic perspective so so that's my observation that we be consistent and I think obviously that's a year ago but Anyway, my I think my position is stated and I know other people have used that they want to express. >> I just want to be clear. I don't know that it's

raised um I don't think anyone is thinking we do it differently. I think it's just that the resignation just came and we were just raising as a like what is our process? What do we do? So, I just want to be clear that even when Carl was talking to me earlier, I was just sharing like these are options. I wasn't suggesting we do it one way or the other. I didn't really have time to process what they were. So, I just I want to be clear about that. Oh, I'm really I'm at the point with it. I think you already know. Um there was five people that applied for the position. Those five people now should be the ones in and we move on. So, in my opinion, I don't think that this board should

be appointing anyone because we haven't done it in the past. >> I don't think anyone's suggesting that. Just to be clear, I think you asked me earlier and I just was saying what the options were because >> literally I found out walking in what the situation was. So I just want to be really clear if you were listening to that that wasn't that my opinion that we should do it a certain way. >> So if we need a motion on this, then let's do it. >> I'm not sure, but I think I don't know if Brendan also wanted to say something. >> No, I I my I didn't have a question on I I think it's fairly obvious this is how to do it. You know, like we have Yeah, >> you know, my my

question was just going to be about the ballot because the one thing that So, what would you need to change about the ballot? My memory is that the ballot didn't change and that people still voted for three. Like, we're not going to tell them vote for four or vote for five because that would kind of make it harder to achieve the result of figuring out who's fourth or fifth place because then you just vote for all five, you know? So, I think last year our ballot was just vote for three. everyone's gonna get on even, you know, even if you get I mean someone's everyone's going to get a vote. >> Um so there's anyway that that just helps you figure out what is the waterfall. >> Yeah. And I think the discussion tonight was

just really like what are our what are the boundaries legally related to timing of announcements and just making sure that we were covered with all of that. That was all. >> Yeah. We we have publicly noticed that we're going out with three seats, three full seats and one partial, right? So, we would have to go back and change our public notice at this point um and kind of reverse course. So, any other additional public notices that if we do have out there, which we do, um we'd have to see if we could change those. And then really it's messaging to the community how this would be uh >> solved. So, what part of the public notice intent of how many votes individual voters can cast or how many seats are up for >> how many

seats are up? And so it in the notice it says three seats or four seats. >> Four seats. >> And it describes three full seats and one partial. >> But what what did last year's notice say? >> Last year's notice went out as uh three seats. >> Right. >> And we filled four. >> And you filled four. >> So So >> the future ones were corrected. Correct. Like future public notices. >> No, they were not. >> Okay. So then we're okay the deadline. So I mean there's other way we can do this which means leave the public notice as is and bind ourselves publicly to that we will honor or as a board we will fill those seats through our own action respecting the results of the election as they occur. Um that is more

or less if people have read the news about Virginia signing on to the interstate compact to do away with the electoral college and the mechanism for that because states can cast their electoral votes are not bound by the actual um electoral college they can cast their votes in the electors and states have committed to cast their votes for whoever wins the national popular vote and that is their method of doing that. The point is what states are doing is binding themselves that once that enough states that equal 270 + one uh um uh electoral votes they would actually bind themselves to casting their electors for the pop the person who gets the most popular votes. In a similar manner we could bind ourselves by saying whoever gets the plurality of votes in fourth and fifth

place will be assigned those and then take that motion in the meeting after the um the actual vote. a meeting after the vote, whether it's a June meeting or whether there's another meeting that's being held. I mean, and that would mean we don't necessarily have to change the notice because we're publicly committing to ourselves and then through a board resolution filling the vacancy. >> So, maybe I wasn't clear. Um, but like the person who gets the fourth highest would get the two-year term and the one who got the fifth highest would be the one-year term. as it stands now on the notice that fourth fourth place position would get a one-year term. I mean, >> I think we should change >> Sorry, Christie. >> I think if we have the time, we should just change

the notice and make it really a clean process. Like, you know, four-year term, excuse me, two-year term, one-year term, you know, if we have the time to do that, that makes the most sense to me. The five people get the votes in whatever order they're in versus binding ourselves and then having to change something back and forth. >> I just I just want to make something clear, too, in Richard's defense, too. Rich, the reason Richard was doing this is to make sure that the people got to vote on five people. That that's why Richard got out as quick as he did now because he didn't want to put that off. So, I wanted to make sure everybody knew that we can make the adjustments, you know, first thing tomorrow morning. You know, again, the ballots

are in draft. We can we can adjust that. I would suggest we put some notifications on the website as well. um we can notify our our people who are are uh candidates who are running so that they're aware as well so that's very clear to them um and and I think we can also put out uh a parent square blast I can do that as well as much you know communication as as necessary is that this is the the desire how this uh budget vote uh board member vote will go >> one thing I do want to um bring up it's um I don't know what it means that we've become really familiar amilar with these discussions. But um last year one of the concerns was if people vote for four, will that invalidate their

whole ballot because the machine won't read it or whatever. So um I don't know the answer to that. I don't know if we ever figured out the answer to that, but I I think it will be uh an important assuming that it will be capped at three like that you will vote for three. I think that's the thing that makes the most sense. >> It will say vote for five. It'll say vote for five. Yeah. >> Then how do you determine if everyone votes for five who the most votes are? It will say the most votes. >> It'll say vote for up to five. >> Yeah. Up to five. >> Up to five. >> But you you will you're you're going to have the total total number. >> Yeah. >> Of each of each person

>> tie. >> Oh, come on. Please. We're going to put we're going to think about ties at this point. >> So, we'll get an answer on that. >> So, if you're lucky, you only have to do a year. >> I said it last. That's the winner. >> If you're less lucky, you have to do two and if you're really unlucky, you got to do three >> civic duty. >> So just so the messaging So the messaging will be vote up to five and then however the numbers fall. >> Okay. >> So historically the undervote meaning the people who don't vote for the maximum or candidates is about 15 to 20%. So even when you have the ability to vote for five, people don't. And I think some people come in voting for exactly one person.

Um I know people have sometimes been encouraged to do that. Not necessarily something that I I would advocate for someone to do, but the likelihood that people cast I think most people come to vote for the budget and then the undercard is the the board candidates and that's always been the case on every election and runs from 15 to 25% possible votes not even cast. You just look at the totals. So, do we need to take a vote on this or it is uh it exists? It's not really some anything to vote on. It's we have an opening and then this is the process, right? I just want to make sure everyone's in agreement with that. >> I think we've made it abundantly clear about how you're going to move forward. So, that's how >>

Yeah. I mean, we're not voting on how to spend the public's money. We're deciding on a board process and this is what we're landing on. >> All right, great. >> So, John, >> can I add one additional comment, >> please? >> In light of the fact that we've now had three resignations in 12 months, uh I think when the new board is seated next year, it would be uh wise for us to take up the discussion of what is the proper size for this board and is it nine or is it less or is it fewer? My wife just yelled at me in my head uh for my poor grammar. Thank you. >> Yeah, there's um we have data on that in terms of that process from legal. It is a multi-year process to to

go from 9 to let's say seven. So, we can certainly go over that in detail. Um the next board, I mean, can go over that in detail and um decide, you know, how they want to proceed. It's not just for the public sake. It's not as easy as just saying, "Oh yeah, we have some openings. Let's go to let's go to seven. The public has to vote and it becomes >> show of hands. Who wants >> it becomes much more in >> it becomes a much more in-depth process. So just so the public isn't like oh well you know makes sense just go down to seven. We can't do it that way. So >> so I mean we could do it because there are vacancies. The point is no one's being deprived of their office

by us then voting. that since we're on this right now and we have a unique situation where we could go to seven and just vote for three and the top three and the next year's board is a is a board of seven. Um so I mean that is possible. The reason why it's a multi-year process is because obviously you are shortening someone's term if you're going from 9 to 7. Um, generally how that's done is that whoever gets the most votes in any particular budget vote gets a slightly longer term and that so the point is like we have a nine so there's three people for three-year terms and it's all equal. Can't do that with five and seven. And so generally speaking there's one or three. One person gets a longer term by getting

more votes in that election. And I believe that's actually in the education law about how that's allocated. So if you choose to have that size, the way you fill it is actually I think set out. >> There's a cascading effect in terms of the votes and my understanding is the public has to actually vote on the fact that um they support having a seven person board versus a nine person board. So it has to be announced. We could Christian to your point as a board decide we don't want to you know fill the empty but I think we've decided already that we're going to move that way. So um all righty. So moving on to board closing comments. Oh, public comments. Forgive me. Um, now we have our second account of public comments. Microphones are

at the end. Anyone would like to come up and share anything. Now we move on to board comments. Uh, Loftton, do you mind if we start at that end? >> Um, yeah. I I think I I really wanted to talk about how much I enjoyed Mean Girls and I got to do that earlier. So, um I'm good. Other than that, >> great. Thank you, Christian. >> Um but now talking about this and obviously there's many things that we've uh memorized tonight, memorialized tonight, from unfortunate passing of a former student to the celebration of um of music in our district. Um, and also I just want to say on the resignation, I think since I've written this already in a public way, my regard for Richard, I will just let those words stand. Um, and I

will not comment because I will not speak for him, but I will say that it is a great loss to this district and um, and uh, and I I am sorry for the district that made that decision. Carl That's what I want to do tonight. I want to kind of hit on Rich. Um Rich was an 18-year-old student here and and he ran, you know, back then he ran and then he he I if I'm not mistaken, he got in when he was about 20 years old. I got to meet Richard in a strange way at at some of these meetings. And um you know, I got I got to say Richie is a very very smart kid and he's done an excellent job here. we have to, you know, I kept in mind the

whole time at Richie's 22, 23 years old and he's still on, he's still on the board. Richard went out of his way so many times for me. It was just unreal. When I first decided I was going to run, Richard was at my house almost every single day. And um he helped me with everything. And in fact, to this day, Richard still does that. He he knew that I was going to run. Um a lot of what Richie was doing, I knew he was going to be leaving soon. We had we had talked about it. Rich is working a couple jobs now and um you know this is just one thing for him that you know it's it's just over the top for him now. Um and so you know I'm going to miss Richie

on the board. I know for sure he will definitely help be helping me out on a lot of things. He always has. And I just wanted to say you know good luck to you Rich. Um I know where you're at. I know what's going on. And um you know thank you for everything you've done for me. So, I'll uh start just uh to thank uh Mr. Ravinsky for his uh presentation and congratulate all the accomplishments that fueled that presentation. Um it really is I think Jim, you said it well, you know, like uh coming off the heels of the athletics uh presentation last week, it's just great to see that the numbers are are where they are. you know, 150 kids here, 150 kids there, it really adds up. And I just know from my

own family that what those programs uh do for for these kids and it's a uh it gives them whe regardless of whether they go on to pursue those work, that kind of work professionally, which a lot of graduates have done successfully. Uh no matter what they get into, those skills are extraordinarily beneficial. So, thank you for all that. Um, and yeah, Richard, uh, you know, I don't I don't know uh if I I definitely know I would not have done uh I would not have run for a board when I was 20. I would not have wanted to do that and uh people would not have voted for me and would not have wanted me to do that. So, I definitely applaud anyone who's who's willing to to step up and put yourself out there

uh at such a young age. it. I honestly can't even imagine what the experience has been like for him at that age, you know, when you're still trying to figure yourself out and then you also take on uh pretty big responsibility and do it in a public light. Um I think he's probably I've said this to him, you know, he'll probably wake up when you're 30 and be like, man, that was that was a really unique experience. Um so I hope for his sake that you know he takes all the lessons that he learned. I'm sure it was an extraordinary learning experience and uh you he uses that to fuel everything that he does next and you know we appreciate the uh you know he was he was always showing up for stuff you know

and was always uh the first one to attend any event and all that. So um glad that he is making a decision that's good for him and uh I just wish him all the best moving forward. Yeah, I just um really want to share my condolences for the family of Logan Malone. Uh just a a terribly tragic situation to have uh 19-year-old pass away in an automobile accident. Um you know, we don't know the cause of it. Uh I think it was exactly two weeks before we had three students uh two Cornwall students, one former Cornwall student I think are juniors and seniors were also uh involved in an automobile accident on Route 32. And looking at the pictures of the car, they're lucky um that they were able to walk away. So um you

know, this accident with Logan was on Mural Springs out by Troutbrook. Um when I was in high school, three students were in an accident out there and two of them passed away uh several years ago. So, um just a tough, you know, my heart really goes out to that family. Um and, uh that's it. >> Um you know, I think I said about Richard before, he served this district for many years and uh he was always at all the events. If the board couldn't be there, you knew Richard could be there. And I think um I've always really appreciated that he represented this board well um in that way. And then um really just on the heels of Jim's comments, I think as a community member, as a parent, you know, it's just an unthinkable

tragedy and um your heart um it's hard to carry that. So, uh, yes, my prayers, my thoughts. I think the entire communities go out to Logan's family, um, his friends. Um, and just that I think one thing that I love about Cornwall is that, uh, we show up for each other even when we don't know each other. So, um, just, you know, be there for one another. You never know who might be affected more personally or, you know, directly. Um, but however we can be there as a community is really what makes Cornwall different. So um with that I will take a motion to adjurnn our meeting. >> Motion >> second. Thank you. Uh all in favor >> I >> Okay. Mo the meeting's adjourned at 8:17. Thank you.
