001602m we have uh members Rich janelli Al Almeida Julie Milano and myself as well as our ex aicio member gladus Cooper um thanks everybody for getting together um relatively quickly I know that this was not an originally scheduled meeting but we wanted to build on the momentum from our uh meet the superintendent event at braie middle school so I appreciate you all being here um is there somebody who could take minutes for this meeting please okay thank you I appreciate it just give him a minute here you that was a big notebook rich I hope we're not taking that many notes tonight no I'm not thank you thank you so much I appreciate it um so I want to just um and I'm not sure Dr selig or Dr casmiro Who would like to sort

002of kick off the conversation about the event on the 21st yeah uh I can kind of get it going and I think most of the folks on this call were there so we could probably just kind of have a bit of an open conversation about General Impressions and whatnot so uh September 21st um we all got going at about 9:00 a.m. um I was as you all know as as folks trickled in the kids uh were routed into the cafeteria where there was a variety of stem activities there um parents went into the auditorium where they saw a presentation from carara um I stood at the back of the auditorium at at best count I there was some flow coming in and out and people going but at at at count I saw about 60

003parents probably at Peak and then I think we had at Peak about a hundred kids um in the cafeteria so uh and I know you guys had some some sign in sheets and whatnot but that's I think that was pretty close to your count as well and uh uh we've had some great feedback about the session um we know the kids just had a lot of fun doing the different stem activities and I even know that the teachers were were jazzed to be able to sort of show off some of the the the fun activities and curriculum to to uh you know students that weren't the conventional you know high school or middle school students so uh there was just a real positive reception uh I know we had a real positive reception in the

004auditorium um we had translation uh devices available uh Lori boros was in the back uh doing real-time translation un style so everybody could have the the ear sets and um and here Cara's presentation um and overall I think it's it's a great um sort of blueprint that we can use if if not all are certainly in part um you know as as we'd mentioned there there was some significant costs associated with this one we wanted the first one to sort of come out of the Gates Strong so we did have food you know there was a lot of teachers there that you know were working on Saturday and and some of those folks had to be paid um so I think there's there's variations we can on this theme that we can do um that

005would that would you know bring out just as many folks but um but keep cost down for the district as well so just some general Impressions I I mean I I'll Kate if you want to open it up to the floor we can we can get some other feedback sure uh from board members who were there um Julie I know you were there miss Cooper you were there as well um I was there uh I think that was it from one was here yeah she's not on this call so I just want to open this up to the folks who are here um just for their Impressions on my end I think it went extremely well I wasn't expecting um I was part of the event myself because I was making craft um some of

006the um some something that the teachers put on on the students so I had a lot of fun uh I think is something that I can all a board members should be um motivating everybody to keep on doing because um I have really good feedback from parents so on my end it was fantastic can you come in kitchen with me and going to go get a c thanks for the feedback Julie um I I'll offer a little bit as well um I thought that the event was really well organized um you know I um was very impressed with uh the way that uh Dr me's team you know sort of helped um parents as and greeted parents as they were coming in the door and made sure that the kids were moved over to uh

007the activity areas and then gave a little guidance to the parents about what was going to happen the teachers that were there doing uh curriculum activities um were really engaging the kids uh the kids had to be talked out of leaving at the end of it which is always um you know something nice to see uh the kids enjoying being in school and enjoy learning even on a Saturday um so I thought that was really great uh you know Dr casmiro did a great job um bringing forward some really Vital Information for parents um and I you know I think that that's at the root of this conversation you know that's really what our Focus has to be not that I I am very grateful for all of the structure that allowed that conversation to

008happen but I think really what what our focus is is how do we get a messaging about the district what we're doing differently um you know what our vision is for moving the district forward and how parents and families can participate in that work um to not only benefit the district but specifically to benefit their students and the learning process that they have are going through so um you know my my hat is off to the entire team um I really thought it was a very um well structured event um and and a lot to bring parents in um and families in to uh learn some more about the ways in which we have to partner if I could just add a little bit to to the day um you know I definitely want to

009than you know once we sent out and this is just more feedback on that made me think about how we communicate with our parents um you know know we originally you know we were like okay we'll have plan some activities and we went ahead and purchased some typical supplies that we would get for the typical number of students and responses for these types of events and when we decided to take the the invitation to send out to parents um when we decided to make a video invitation instead to accompany that digital invitation and that the personalization um we got more views on that video than we've gotten on almost any other video that we've sent out to parents or any kind of media so and it was forwarded like of bazillion times so I think

010that that speaks volumes to um a couple of things you know the way that people like to be communicated but also you know um the how our parents are able to understand what's happening particularly our second our our families of you know second language learner family that are uh May struggle to connect with the school system um and and learn so it was wonderful that the family Learning Center staff helped with that those translations and um I did want to get some additional feedback from ly and team to see how those families experien the event did they experience it differently than how we've we're describing the event right from the minute that they were welcomed to come in the door to how they were engaged how the children were engaged and then their understanding of

011you know of the day um I'm sure once they got onto the onto the the headphones with loudy you know things went went well but I'm curious to see if she got any additional feedback so um we're going to have a a deep brief we we meet on a semi-regular basis with the whole team to understand what's happening with family so that that's going to be an agenda item so that will feedback will inform the next event make sure that the minute folks hit the door that they feel enged and welcomed and that they're in the right place great Mrs Cooper did you want to add anything no I just thought it was a beautiful event and uh I thought the the the parents that I have uh sort of spoken to in going in

012the auditorium they felt welcome I I know the children enjoy the activity because my grandson couldn't stop talking about it Saturday and Sunday so you know and my granddaughter they enjoyed and I just want to thank the uh superintendent for the beautiful shirts because wearing those it it really did make a difference and so people could look at you and see that you're a part of the Danberry school system and uh I thank her for doing that so you know it was just a beautiful uh U A A Affair I just you know it's hard to get parents job it it really is and especially when they work all week and some work too and then they have small children and to me that that Saturday is their day to do what they have to

013do and that is to bring their kids that they can drop them off and someone else watch them while they run and do what they their in so you know not only we are dealing with this situation other groups are having the same issue as far as getting pants and far so you know whatever we can come up with to to bring in one or two the next time you're not going to have 100% or 50% when you start an affair like that it's going to grow and grow and grow it takes about four or five years for it to get to the the maximum number that you want so I enjoyed it I think if you tie it to something that the parents need want or enjoy right then I think we'll get we

014get more engagement and that's why we did the stem component to it because you know why if you're going to come out on a Saturday there has to be something you're going to have your kids with you there has to be something in it for the kids um the other the other ways that we talked a little bit about maybe doing some something else was you know T from a timeline perspective that could be also beneficial so for example around the mid year if we're thinking of doing something at the winter time it doesn't always have to be on a Saturday right um but you can during during the week perhaps maybe it's on a an early release say perhaps it's during the conference time or it's just before conference time but we do something

015on how to read your child's I ready scores you know getting ready to you know ask those questions like you know how do you how do you interpret this information so you can walk into your par teacher conference prepared and we have it a multilingual event as well and we give the speech again right we go to so we kind of combine those things and we can do the same thing around assessment time in the spring um and and maybe keep some of the activities for the kids a little bit more a little bit more streamlined and simple if you will what got complicated a little bit was the with the food and then it was okay do you have any allergies and we're looking at what we ordered and trying to make sure then

016how are we going to keep this food separate from the kids in the table and when if they take the food with them to the tables and a student has another allergy so it got uh you know it ramped up pretty quick in a short period of time uh and then of course the number of kids that were coming so there was a lot of last minute adjustments so you know um probably picking a date identifying a date and then being able to plan a little bit more so um I was very thankful for the team across the street the curriculum Center because they were they were like how do we scale an activity and make it rotate in 15 minutes they were over there doing experiments they were measuring chemicals and glue and sticks

017and Counting out enough cups and making packages and then they ran to the warehouse and they got those books and they packaged up the stuff that we had so they they did great job they were there like 910 o'clock for like the three nights in a row leading up to that event so um you know I they did a great job I was very proud of them and we were very thankful for their efforts yeah and I and I also want to acknowledge and thank an you and your team because you guys did a fantastic job of you know Ju Just the logistics going into all of this and and making sure we were able to keep track of who came in and the dismissal was a whole another piece we had to color code

018kids so that we knew when the parents came that if their badge was red that the student was in the red group and all these little quirky things that you sort of don't think about sometimes and then you know you you suddenly are in the moment and you say oh we need a solution for this and and an's team was great it's just sort of coming up with these things at a moment's notice and going out and making sure we had all the right colored stickers and all those little things to make it work we could not have done this without the the resource center and and ly and Grace and an and then they even brought their family members we were all scrambling for additional adults at the end so everybody was grabbing family

019members to help support but it it turn because of that I think it was even even nicer so yeah we got good feedback from the families as well um that have either come in for resources or come in for more information here at the um face Center so um you we'll get those comments written up and and yes Mike I was walking between buildings here we do have the signin sheets and stuff so we have exact numbers we'll get you great thanks well certainly want to thank everybody who um played a role in in making that day happen and um you know on the heels of that conversation um we want to think about how we can continue this momentum from a successful experience there um and again cas's point you know this is sort

020of an iterative process we're GNA you know maybe not do it the same way every time um and to to Dr shix point as well um you know we're we're always looking for ways to engage with the public and one of those ways uh that um Julie brought to the the board meeting last night was a conversation about how we might meet with uh different housing uh groups um whether that's um you know a u an organization that's attached to a specific um uh housing Spate um or um you know other community organization um that we can reach out to so you know that's that's something that we have talked about doing for a while that would really be you know I think our goal needs to be how do we build a calendar um

021with these you know and then how do we extend invitations or or um requests to these different groups um and make contact um so I don't know Dr s if you had any thoughts about uh sort of the leading for that or if you wanted board members here to sort of uh get this conversation rolling but I wanted to you first so thanks Kate so so Caren and I sort of talked a little bit and and she alluded to this um just a few minutes ago which kind of you know putting themes in place that kind of Hit the kind of the major events at that time of year so we were thinking if there was a winter one that probably be a good time to address chronic absenteeism going away for the holidays coming

022back not taking additional days and then of you know of course I think underscoring all these things is continually talking about the academy model and making sure parents understand what that is even if it's something we've heard before even if it's you know a reiteration just making sure people understand it because there's all those different acmis you know we've been staring at these things you know for months and you know and and I still couldn't name them name them all so you know I I think just making sure that Academy is sort of the foundation of it and then in the winter we do something over chronic absenteeism and then if we were to do a spring one again you know the academy is coming and then maybe that one is is the right opportunity

023to start talking about assessment we have esac assessment how to prepare for that you know what's the significance of it um how do these scores roll up and what do they mean for us and potential funding um you know just all these these sort of different facets of the assessment um world that you know so parents just don't see a score and you know don't have a lot of context for it so I think those are sort of two good anchor points for a winter in Spring um and then I you know I've I've been listening to the board conversation about you know going out to different communities I know there was some talk about that so I I think I would I would look more to the board for you know thinking about where

024we might do it if if not in a school or you know in a school in a specific Community is it a community center is it a you know a rotary club or a meeting or something you know so I I I would look to to all of you for some guidance on that I have an idea um you know we've never attached this to Kota but that's an event that gets a ton of participation everybody comes out to see their kids artwork right for students artwork so I'm just wondering if we build that into the programming just an idea for the for the spring just um just to think you know we just did a stem event this would be more of an Arts thing uh connection and then you come up with something

025else just just an idea we don't have to decide anything now but that's a great idea we've never Incorporated that component and that's a huge captive audience that we could tap into you know I'm also thinking about the uh the Project based learning that goes on at the middle school level um with each of those three different um schools you know we do the history uh events and then the science uh the science fairs you know I've um I've gone to to both of those a few times and that might also be an opportunity you know to to bring in some conversation about uh either the topics that that you raised Dr casmiro at this last event or to start you know that start more of those conversations about theem and sort of how that's

026integrating across the district um that seems like a really good segue so yeah I don't know if that's something we could think about too and there's your sort of academic activity sort of all bundled up into one right yeah that's good Synergy so one of the other things that um I've talked about with a few board members is this idea that um you know we've really seen sort of a transition happened at uh Rogers Park in particular under Dr zita's guidance um the the culture and the climate and that school is very welcoming um and she's really um uh brought forward I think some of the better uh uh ways of operating um with in conjunction with families and and change sort of like the overall perception about rogers's Park um and that that's the

027kind of um you know leadership and enthusiasm we want to sort of share with uh you know the public and and and spread around our own District in whatever ways we can so that was just another thing that that um you know as we talk about these conversations and we talk about as board members going into different spaces basis um you know coming up with some sort of concrete U examples of the things that are happening in the district um and you know what we can you know what we look to bring from our students what we look to um do in our schools to better not only their experience but um improve sort of like the overall um the overall experience within the community because the schools are part of the community and I

028think that that sometime sometimes that that gets lost you know if you have a kid in the district in the schools then you know you're sort of on board with that already but if you're part of you know let's say a senior housing area or um you know uh you know you're a couple and you don't have any children in the schools sometimes you forget about why the schools are important to your community and I think being able to go into those spaces and have conversations with folks and remind them that you know the public schools are here you know in service to the community as a whole you know that and and to talk about the concrete ways in which that happens I think could be very helpful um and it might even you

029know give us an opportunity to get some support from groups that we don't typically see support from great yeah K to to your point I think the important thing for us to do Outreach and you know we're struggling with how to to come up with an effective way to approach that one of the points we hit on was the success that you mentioned with Roger Park and I I agree you know with that I had conversations recently with both Dr Letta and Dr tameera on that it it might be something to think about as we use the terminology the board meeting to Spotlight our school is to have specific schools use the word spotlighted at some events in their school in terms of what the the change has been whatever we want to promote that

030that's something good something at rers Park may be different than what's at the Broadview school every school is different because it's a different makeup of human beings so that's something we could look at we don't do enough bragging to the public as to how good we are you know we have our presentations at the board meetings I'm not sure how much of that gets promoted or or viewed Etc but if there's a way that we could engage at least that Community relative to that school and Enlighten them and educate them to the success and broaden the strength of of the parent relationship to the school is is the My Philosophy is these schools belong to you the more you're engaged in them the better the school is the better your parent is you may be

031able to look to do this on over a period of time you can't do it all in one year but over the course of a period of time do some of these events and and then we could always polish him from you know what we see is good and bad a and continue on that that's one thought the other thought in terms of Outreach is to the the points that was last night with regard to Julie and the one previously with regard to I think Teresa extending the imitations had reservations on that but I I tend to think going there we need a specific script so that when we go to these meetings everybody regardless of who goes okay and and it has to be a team effort where we can't have have the same

032two people or three people or one person attending it's got to be an organized type of situation but saying the same thing it's important that whatever they hear from me whatever they hear from another board member or administrative we're talking about the same issues that the superintendent feels she wants to to uh to eminate and make public and I think once we have that script you know you know we can start with that and then engage in more of a social thing there but to make it a particular point is to let us take the lead thank them for inviting us but this is what we want to to tell you about the school and and then listen to what they have to say or any questions they have and if we can do it

033in an organized fashion so if we have 11 board members and we get commitment similar to the way you do the expulsion so that you can say that on every you know every event for a a meeting you'll always have one or two board members and somebody from the administration not sure whe we want to bog down the superintendent on everyone but you's got a staff that could share the burden so it's just some thoughts and those are my thoughts on how we can start develop some of these some of these condition I conditions by which we could reach out to the public and get them better acquainted with us so that they can be more you know be more informed as to what you do just just have one more idea if I can

034add not to long but um you know an an puts together an amazing calendar of events uh for parent training and she does that in collaboration with my CRC staff um um so she does do you know how to read your child score she does do those things in In Pockets across the year um all very relevant topics uh that are very meaningful and I'm just I'm wondering if it might be worth it to you know because parents are all will also only go out to so many events across the across the year so how do we maybe then take some of the things that we have established we have already have an established calendar increase the marketing around it and then bring the board and me into those things that are already sort of

035calendarized and um if you maybe pre-organized if you will with expertise that's already scheduled to come in and so how do we maximize some of the things that are already in progress with and then have the board come as a show of support to be there with the community to interact with some of those questions and then to have me go to those as well to you know to interact so just another idea um we could probably you know get you a list of that know Ann works very hard on that across the year with the team to organize through the parent training opportunities that she puts together so we could you know rally around some of those really important events as well that's a great idea because it prevents us from tripping over ourselves

036right in terms of you know too much is too much and if we could just you know work together so we can get out everybody's message and we seem more organized rather than disorganized yeah that's an excellent excellent thought we've we've done that before with um family University uh a few times um where we had board members come and I I think one of the things that's helpful about those kind of situations is I think you know one of the things we struggle with as board members sometimes is you know the appropriate space in which to answer questions from parents and families about what is individual questions they may have um and you know we're we're as a board we're we're supposed to operate as a single unit and the and the chairperson speaks for

037all of us um but you know each of us certainly has come in contact with parents who have questions or concerns and you know we always sprad that fine line when there's a group of us like we don't want this to turn into a meeting we don't want to cut across each other that kind of thing so one of the things that we did at Family University a couple times and which I would continue doing is to put out um you know either a a a big page or board and then U have a stack of Post-its next to it and to invite parents and families to either leave a comment or to leave a question for the board about something that they need an answer on um and it it serves two purposes not

038only do we get feedback but it gives parents the space to do that without maybe a direct ation with us that they might find intimidating because at the end of the day we still want to try to bridge that Gap and it's ideal to have conversations with with families but sometimes they're just not ready for that and they they still want to you know they still need an answer or they still want to convey information to us and you know it it also gets around the language barrier a little bit um for those of us that are not um do not speak more than English um it's an opportunity for us back and and you know translate that information and and come up with some information for the parent or or uh for the family

039member so um I think that's a great idea B basically that's what I'm saying I think we should try to we should try to piggyback on those events um you know I think you know with regard to going to see um you know some of the community groups you know my thought process is more along the lines of uh doing that as as board members and not necessarily um bringing Dr casmiro into that conversation but um I think that that's something that we can continue to talk about um as a group and and sort of see where everybody lands on it but to your point rich I think it's a really good idea to go in there with some prepared information that we're presenting um and not have it just turn into kind of U

040you know free-for-all and and you know uh be be uh unproductive for what our goal is you had a multitude of people or a number of people everybody's going to express a different opinion and so I think in a form like this is representing the public schools as a board member of it my feeling is and look to the superintendent for advice to say okay you know what are your selling points give us you know give us your sort of elevated speech and we'll carry that out and then see where it goes from there but that'll always engage for the conversation sure leave it just open as the general conversation you're all over the place and you never know what you're going to put your head into yeah that's a that's a really good point

041so um in terms of figuring out how we brainstorm around this um I think the three big things are um you know creating a calendar of opportunities um and also availability of board members to to participate in different things uh building a list of community organizations that we would like to reach out to or try to um you know participate with and then uh three coming up with sort of like a a set pattern of information and topics that we're going to share when we when we're at these different events so um I think the challenge here for our community relations meetings has always been like we get to the meeting and then it's like okay well you know I I might have some information or a lead here but I need to track it

042down or um you know we have these different events but we don't have it right in front of us so can we can we think about setting up some Google Documents um that could be shared amongst committee members or even the full board um that would allow people to share information about you know I have contact with this group um and and and can reach you know can reach out to somebody or here's the name of the person that we could reach out to um and then one for you know sort of like a list of uh existing events that we could potentially uh payback on um and then a third uh Google Document for sort of um narrowing down what ideas we want to bring when we uh at different events does that sound

043okay to folks yeah another way to do this is is it possible to get together formally I mean not formally sorry in person as as a committee and have this out you know sort of face to face and just come up with something as opposed to you know a zoom meeting where I like I'm more of a people person I like the I like the the face to face contacts the conversation that endures that way items that you're talking about just doing it face to face just maybe a little bit more productive than filling out of form and thinking B at the time you know this way you're engaged in that process there so your mind is functioning to to think about that as you're you're discussing it as opposed to when you have some

044free time just put down some thoughts on it I if I make okay I I think it's a it's a yes and I I think we would probably get it started sort of you know brainstorming and I think we did this a couple months ago or at the end of last year with um we were going to come up with with talking points for the Academy so similar to that kind of use that as brainstorming before we get in together then let's all you know we can get it in person and then you know I can even have some of my my communications folks there too and we can create a web page we can create postcards with QR codes that could be handed out you know just a a sort of variety of things

045that you could you could take and you know like again just have in the trunk of your car pamphlets for whenever you're going to one of these things and and and it'll all take people right there um we can just have everybody sort of there in the moment sort of creating it in real time and as information changes we can we can update it because it's living on the website and you know not necessarily something we have to go back to the printer and do another run of you know a thousand copies or whatever so yeah that's a very smart idea I like that what do you think Rich uh Al Miss Cooper Julie government favor you know we're able to do anything that would get this thing started and soon as they better my

046thought is we if we're into October so are you planning another meeting before the holidays we got October November December and we have a lot of um the holidays are coming up are you envision this for 2025 so our next community relations meeting is currently scheduled for November 13th um I would love if by then we could get a handle on what school sponsored events are happening that we could uh participate with um I would love if we could have uh those three Google Documents started so that we can as board members start to put some information down um you know I don't know what we're talking about in terms of starting to attend at different things because I don't know um yet what's out there and I know we also have our own board

047business to conduct and it you know as we get into the holidays everybody gets very busy um but I you know it would be great if we could use that meeting on the 13th as our in-person sort of like let's look at the information we have let's build on the information that we have and let's figure out you know let's put together a concrete schedule as we approach the end of this year and the beginning of next year so a a more of a workshop session on the 13th [Music] M so we'll have a work cut out to us to have ready by the 13th we have some homework before the 13th that's right okay so and the 13th we do have yeah the community Rel committee uh and then we have a board meeting

048yeah that being the case it might be a good opportunity to have it in person prior to the the board meeting so it works out well works out great yeah Mike how does these that Google doc work is that something that you can facilitate absolutely and I I I'll send you a link and I can I can walk you through it if you have any any uh any hiccups with it yeah just label the document to the thoughts each all right let's try this you know it's a good work in progress as I said we're starting something new and you know we'll give it a shot and then you know from here we just only improve it all right um Al or Julie did either of you have uh feedback about this or any thoughts

049about um you know how we can get ourselves organized or no comment I I agree with everybody's you know thoughts and ideas uh it's a good way to move forward how let me ask you a question in Stanford do do they handle stuff like this and it you know how you know I mean I'm sure we're not Reinventing the wheel but to be honest with you to be honest with you rich I really don't don't get much from you know the classroom side what are you doing with the Board of Education what they're doing you know the only the only thing we get as a staff is uh you know some shout outs from the superintendent's office we get a weekly uh newsletter from the superintendent's office but other than that we don't get much

050information once in a while they'll have like a an outreach program like uh just like this past Sunday they had the uh uh the Stanford public Education Foundation they they sponsored a k run for all the kids uh which was very uh was a huge turnout and that's uh they have different Corporation companies and corporations that donate money and service and time and and whatever into the into the Education Foundation uh but other than that I really don't see much I mean there's probably something there probably are things going on I just don't I don't have I don't spend enough time down there to do it to see it okay thank you I me put spot thanks a lot on my end k um once I get more information like I said from the um

051housing and if I get any other like um community centers or activities that we can hop in I will um let you know ahead prior to the meeting thanks Julie I also want to think about um all the places of worship that are in our community there's quite a lot um and that is a place that um you know might also be an opportunity for us to make contact um you know and reach out to some of the leaders uh of of uh various uh congregations um to see if they would be interested I mean I'm more than welcome to off in the center if you guys want to stop by and make a a public appearance uh lead if it's in your interest so okay thank you thank you uh as the Google Document

052circulate let's make sure that we add all of our uh different organizations that we're affiliated with to that list um and and uh you know we'll have a discussion about it all right um before we conclude I just want to make sure there's no other feedback from uh any committee members or any non-committee members no I just want to add Kate um based on Hispanic Hispanic Heron month um there's quite a lot of activities that um based on the month we should um be around um participating I know it's kind of quit this year but maybe for next year um Hispanic Heritage Month is a big a huge Span in the community maybe we can find a few activities that we we might be able to participate as a board I'm sorry Julie I maybe

053I didn't I didn't hear everything um what I'm breaking I I just don't think I heard heard clearly are you talking about school activities or are you talking about something else all no there's um quite a few activities within the library um yeah library and everywhere they celebrating same as um Black History Month um this month is Hispanic History Month right so this yes Hispanic herit mon so there's quite a few organizations around I know the Community Action the library us um ourself the probably the Dominican Community Center as well um they do activities related to the activity I mean the month itself so that's a way that maybe we can um for next year try to partner with some of them um overall um to see like the library might be a good um

054place to to meet with the community and celebrate together I mean those are places um it should be I mean everybody should be able to attend um because it's like U you know accessible yep y so but that would be something to think ahead for the next year yeah and I you know I also just want to be um aare undertake this that our goal part of our goal is being able to talk about school Rel related things and board related things um and I don't want to step on anybody's toes who might be hosting an event where that you know isn't uh directly related so as long as like you said we make contact with these organizations and sort of ask about if we could partner with them um I think that's fine I

055just want to be conscious that we're we don't want to intrude on somebody else's party um all right I think that concludes this meeting and I'm looking for a motion to adjourn please can I share a bit of good news first oh yes absolutely uh so this just literally happened in the last day but um we will be Barnes & Noble's uh recipient for the um holiday book drive so uh we'll be putting out more information about this but um starting November 1st when anyone goes into Barnes & Noble if you tell them you are with the danber public schools's book drive a portion of those proceeds will go to a fund for us to buy books and you'll also be able to select a book from a list and buy it and it'll go

056into a box that will then get diverted directly to the schools that's wonderful what period of time Mike November 1st to uh I think it's December 19th I'm pushing for the 24th so we can catch all the last minute Shoppers holiday so more on that uh as it as it all comes together so great excellent thank you for the news all right so we have a motion to adjourn from Rich may I have a second please second thank you Al all those in favor please signify by saying hi hi
