Can I get a signal, please? >> Isn't that magical? Wonderful. Thank you so much, students. I know you've been very patient as we're checking in all of your loved ones so that they can come and see you at this wonderful concert. So, thank you so much for your patience. We are going to get started. Good morning, family, friends, students, and staff. and welcome to the East Hatam Elementary School Winter Coral Concert. We are very glad that you were able to join us today to se celebrate our students and the joy of music. This year's performance features a Beatles theme, music that has brought generations together through melody, creativity, and heart. One Beatles lyric reminds us that all you need is love. And today you will certainly feel the love our students have put into their
singing. Another favorite line, Here Comes the Sun, which feels especially fitting as our students bring warmth, light, and energy to this winter day. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our music educator, Mr. Sally, for dreaming up this year's selection. His dedication, creativity, and hard work in preparing our students for this special performance is a gift to us all. His enthusiasm for music and his commitment to our children shine through in every note they sing. To our students, we are so proud of you. Your courage, your teamwork and joy are what make today so special for all of us. And to our families, thank you for your continued support for the arts and our school community. I'm going to pass
the mic off to our superintendent, Dr. Drigo, and then we will sit back, enjoy the music, and let it come together as we celebrate our EHS musicians. [applause] Thank you, Mr. Peterson. Welcome everyone. I'm not sure you realize how far family members have come. There's a car out in the parking lot all the way from Florida, a NASCAR fan, too. So, we want to welcome everyone. Um, how many of you have children in middle school? You attended the expo last night. Anybody at the expo? Your hands? So, this week is just filled with celebrating the work that our students do. Now, another question. Students, how many of your family members were singing along here at home when we practiced for today's concert? So, raise your hand. Okay, you guys credit for that. Um, this is
going to be a treat. Thank you so much for being here. We appreciate everything you do and we love having your children in our school system. So, Mr. S, I'm going to turn it over to you and let it shine. Thank you. >> [applause] >> Hello. Thank you everybody for coming. Thank you for supporting the music program and for supporting the kids. I uh I hope this event serves as a reminder to you guys as it does to me that we are all at our strongest when we're together. And this event brings us together every year. And I I think that's a really important thing. So, thank you for making it. I would like to address everybody, but especially those of you who are new to the school or those of you who don't yet
know what I do. Most of us, I think, grew up in a music program where we did two things. We did singing and we did recorders. Anybody in the room only remember those two things? Yeah. I have a couple things to say about that. One, for the sake of the parents and the kids, I do not teach recorder and and two, singing is just a part of what I do. It's a really important part. It's a part we can showcase and again, it's a part that brings everybody together and that's great. But I know not every one of my kids wants to sing all the time. And that's totally okay. Because the thing about music education is it can be as diverse as the kids are. So when I'm writing my curriculum and when I'm
changing it again and again to meet the needs of the students, I'm always keeping that in mind. Every kid is different. Every kid needs to learn in a different way and every kid wants to learn different things. So, if you ever have questions about my curriculum or about music at all, feel free to contact me through Parent Square and I'll tell you about anything you want to know. We do so much in music class. But until then, please enjoy the concert. This one is called Me the Beatles. [applause] >> [music] >> That's it. >> [music] >> Dare [music] dare [music] stop there. 012All right, that was unbelievable. Unbelievable. There was a few of us brought to tears in the back. I'm sure there was some moist eyes up here as well. I would like to give Mr. Sally a big round of applause. Everybody starts working on these songs early in the school year. It's a a very large task to get all of these mini humans singing like you just heard them sing. So again, let's give our students one more round of applause. [applause] We really appreciate everyone who was able to attend today. Um,
