024superintendent is exactly what I believed um we would um C Inu which was a calm um healing presence and one that kept the ores in the water and just moving forward um and so um your leadership your leadership with staff your leadership um on this governance team um was very was very um it was rewarding for me to to work with you during this short um but and tumultuous time right closing the budget um doing a lot of things in short order during um what I would say is always sort of the Pinnacle the end of the fiscal year the end of the school year and trying to prepare for the new school year so um much appreciated looking forward to your leadership your continued leadership in the district and um in the one wonderful
025place where you can make another big difference in the um student services um section so um thank you thank you so much and welcome um uh Mr Barbara um looking forward to heard amazing things about you kind of um heard about you from afar for the last 25 years um during my career and I'm just um very appreciative uh that you're stepping up and I'm going to fill in for the next other short period of time um and so the last thing I want to say is um I made the announcement publicly at the um but it was at the special study session two Saturdays ago so I just wanted to make it last last Saturday time is very strange these days um so I just wanted to make it very clear on the record
026at a regular board meeting that um while I was appointed in February of 2023 and I did intend and I made it known January of this last year that I intended to run um you know life happens and um I have a a day job um at the city of San Jose and I was notified at the end of June that I would be um promoted I saw a promotion um and so unfortunately I can't do both things um so I starting this Monday I will be the assistant director of the city of San Jose's Park Recreation and Neighborhood Services um I am allowed to fulfill my role through September 1st but on September 1st um there will be the official retirement of the existing assistant director and I will take full responsibility and that
027creates um conflicts of interest that um I I will have full Authority as um like the director um and signature power things that this board has talked about with the city of San Jose whether parks and recck whether it's the shepher and noala uh Sports field um whether it's the potential trail behind the new Workforce housing at Matson um there are several things I could kind of go on where during my previous job there could be a firewall and now there can no longer be a firewall and I will have authority over those things so I just wanted folks to know the why um and um and really so I will be officially off the board starting September 1st um I hope that in my 18 months here that I've made a difference that's my
028commitment as a community um as a community activist as a community member and I hope to continue to make a difference in this community in my um day job and in my um role as I will continue to be a resident um activist um and continue to care for the children of alumrock um our neighborhoods and um I just want to thank um The District staff who have been since I met you all 10 12 years ago and have worked with you the professionalism the expertise the um absolute passion that you all bring um I like to call it you have the smarts and the Heart right you just bring it all and um whether it's my limited ability to visit schools and I loved our tours of Summer Schools and um I've I've just
029um I I do wish people understood how absolutely um fantastic this school district is whether the being blown away at the Russo mcy you know Earth Day uh Earth night event you know there's just all sorts of things going on that are phenomenal and um I will continue to be a big Champion for this District um uh as as I move forward and I hope to continue to partner with you all um whether it's Youth Intervention and the Youth Empowerment Alliance or the Children and Youth master plan again it kind of goes on and on in the ways that I hope to stay connected um with you all um and I just do want to say to the community that I you may see me sitting over on on that side of um the house
030but I will remain engaged I will remain um a a watchdog I will remain um very interested in how um this board moves forward um in the coming year and and years to come change is inevitable and boy we're just feeling a lot of it right now so I know that's a little bit hard um to kind of take in but I I am excited and I hope that um the timing works for the election and that there's a very robust group of folks that can fill this seat and that the community um has their choice um to fill this seat so I do want to thank this board for um these 18 months of allowing me to be a part of um this District's um decisions um while it hasn't been easy I hope
031we've um created a space that um we say our truths and um there's dignity and respect in how uh we work we work through them um and continue to put um the the solvency of this district and the needs of our um students and the long-term health of this District at the Forefront so I I wish you all the best and you're stuck with me for another six weeks or so but um I hope that again I can continue to be a partner with you all and I wish you the best as a governance team thank you thank you trusty fam I well first of all I want to offer my condolences to Mi and konis uh what is it he just graduated last year so you know it's kind of scare scary in a
032way that you know uh his that my you know I was bored president last year my signature was on his uh middle school diploma and it's kind of scary how you know uh life is fleeting and I want to express my my condolences to uh the family of Nixon on his uh unfor you know deeply sad passing uh to Dr alazon I want to thank you for your service as interim superintendent I you know this is a it's a very tough job in in a very tough district and uh years ago uh you know what is it I I was told that uh was it I I had thought that the superintendency of the E side Union High School District was the toughest job in E side s public education I was corrected very quickly
033by a man uh Ramon Dr Ramon Martinez who uh was a longtime director of grants for the East sign me corrected me very quickly that no it's the Alam Rock superintendency that's the toughest job in Eastside San Jose public education so uh you know I I thank you for your uh contributions to the role of interim superintendent and you know to help us close out the Academic Year and you know we wish you all the best as you uh you know transition back to student services I you know we you know that you you you know you've always been a solid in the area counseling and uh we you know we will you know uh look forward to many more contributions from you uh Dr alazon and a warm welcome to Mr Manny Barbara who
034uh I just said thank you so much for taking on the most challenging position in east side San Jose public education and uh I look forward to working with you uh as we get through perhaps uh I think you know the the most CH you know one of the most challenging periods uh of this district and you know certainly we'll be uh looking forward to hear you know uh hear from your expertise and your experience about how we how we cross uh how we Rod the boat in choppy Waters uh you know and I you know I want to also congratulate uh uh the caar Chavez Early Learning Center on its first anniversary uh you know uh you know I can't believe it's been a year yet and I look forward to seeing it you
035know seeing it continue to serve you know our zero to5 population uh and I almost want to forget welcome to Sandra Garcia this is your first first formal board meeting as assistant superintendent so welcome into the a warm welcome into the role of assistant superintendent of instructional services and uh you know I uh you know thank you for your long service and your continuing long service to Alum Rock we're going to me you know we certainly will be meing that uh just a quick thing quick note uh working with Eide trusty vonle we uh about uh uh you know the collaboration between the p enter our painter Vietnamese dual language immersion program and Franklin McKinley's windmill Springs Vietnamese dual language immersion program for our for uh the joint joint program at this year's upcoming Moon
036Festival on September the 14 um you know and other than that I just wanted to make a few uh observations uh you know uh I want to you know uh as a board member I want to acknowledge that yes there's I know that there's a lot of frustration in this community I feel that you know as Bill Clinton would say I feel the pain I feel your frustrations I want to reiterate to the community that you know uh I'm committed to meeting our parents where they are as we move through choppy Waters and I also want to you know emphasize the fact that you know I think that there is room for uh you know even though we are facing challenges to move in a positive direction and I wanted to reiterate that you know
037I've offered you know a plan for a a smarter smaller and ultimately more Humane uh consolidation plan you know I wanted to note that uh our enrollment has not changed from this month from the last month you know uh at the last at the June 27th board meeting our enrollment is 7582 and in this month's board book that en ran is still 7582 so I'm hopeful that you know with a you know with uh even though we are in enrollment decline we it looks like there's a slow you know there's a there's a plateau I there maybe I think that I'm hopeful that there's room you know uh it Narrows the deficit uh you know we you know that that allows us to hopefully save a few more schools but also uh you know to
038to get a clear timeline to work on you know eventually the leasing of of Consolidated School sit so that we have a a long-term long-term Revenue growth program so that we don't go back in two years uh with more Cuts so uh I'm committed as a board member to you know to that plan to our community for you know to ultimately save save schools save equ equipment that our district is not in a position to replace and hopefully keep it keep it in the community so that it continues to serve the needs of this community so uh thank you very much mam president um any other trustee uh truste corera thank you board president um and I wasn't prepared you know but I did my best earlier I finally got um the IG uh obituary
039from the family from the so I'm going to read that now um for Nixon gones Guero um so Nixon was always smiling despite anything which made those around him always cheer up he wanted to help others especially with mental health he had a kind heart made everyone laughed with his silly faces and poses that boy loved to eat his favorites were pizza and mo stop he loved playing soccer and hanging out with friends he took care of his sister and looked out for her in his promotion speech he said people said I couldn't and I did he wanted to be someone in wife and he did just that he was an important person in all of our lives and he was a hero I also want to highlight um s said meno who was interviewed
040um by Fox News and uh you know who was a close to Nixon um and there was a lot of nice things he said but I wanted to highlight um the fact that he States Cesar Cesar says Nixon was very mature for his age his dream was to create his own business as soon as possible to help his family quote we both came from a poor family so we wanted to be the people that get us out of here and just be the success of our family that's all we would talk about said Mano said Cesar says Nixon saw problems that he couldn't ignore he wanted to help others with like substance abuse with substance abuse or mental health especially mental health he was always worried about others so I just want to remind us
041you know about the words of a 15-year-old um that unfortunately our Alma Community lost um and how can we take you know mixon's memories and all that we do um I want to again send um my condolences um to the family uh thank you board president for allowing us to close today in his memory um and uh hopefully our our our Administration can uh create a letter and and send it to him um thank you for that and I also want to um I mean this is such a mix of emotions right my heart's like uh so uh there's happiness as well um know just like life you know there's that cycle right so um with everything that you know turns um there's good and the bad um and we do our best as Leaders

043you know you want our next uh superintendant to um you know what what is important to you make sure you get that get that to us um so as we continue our search we're able to take uh your feedback in consideration if anybody's interested I think July 3rd is the last day to submit your application um also we're also very actively and uh working hard in um this consolidation so we have a lot of um dates coming up to also uh for our community to let us know your feedback um you know we want to hear from you so um make to let us know in one of our meetings um we'll have several opportunities um coming up for that as well um trusty Flor Shelton I'm already missing you you're still here for six
044weeks but I'm like my heart's missing you but I'm so excited for you in your next um Journey part of your journey um here in our community so I know you're not going anywhere you won't be too far you'll be here but you won't be on the DI here so congratulations and I look forward to what the future holds also with you there in our community um I also want to thank all the staff students um you know all those in summer school activities some summer school/ activities some are having fun and Mariachi and arts and all kinds of um you know amazing things that were happening at our school uh during the summer so thank you to everyone you know from the staff that were in charge of opening the doors to make sure
045our children had a place to you know come and um you know learn and and do uh amazing things um you know I know um I think it was the we wanted to make sure that they captured our Mariachi program and that people know the amazing things that are happening in our alar community so I want to thank all of our partners as well um and last but not least uh Dr Al son who would have thought you know when I was board president at the time and um had the conversation with you you accepted and um you know where we're at now I I I mean it seems like yesterday but yeah it seems like so much more long ago there was a lot a lot that you did um and you know it
046it was like it was a short time frame but everybody you know everything was crunched in so it's almost like you know it's been years I feel like um so thank you for your um dedication un waving you know um passion for our entire School District uh from you know the staff to our students um and you know anybody and everybody that just walks through our doors so uh yes congratulations on you know doing an amazing job um and I look forward to contining to work together you know I know you'll continue to do an amazing job and uh I also know that for you it doesn't matter what role you're in you'll continue to do that you know um uh type of of work and level of work so thank you and uh welcome
047Mr Barbara I look forward to working with you also heard many amazing things about you um and I now get to work alongside um to continue to push our district you know forward um and continue to highlight the amazing work that we're doing here so welcome thank you um Mr um VP president um I'd like to start off by extending my condolences to the Kona family on the loss of their son um as a parent of a middle schooler it's um you know one of the greatest fears that one must have one has that um you might U that child goes before before you and I I don't even want to try to understand what they're going through right now or pretend to understand so all I can say is my condolences to you um
048in these very very difficult times um dran thank you for your service uh to Alan Rock School District during these times so want to uh uh uh congratulate uh assistant superintendent uh for academic Services uh sand Garcia thank you for your service and for coming on board and so looking forward to working with you uh in the future um and um interim superintendent uh Barbara uh thank you for your willingness to come on on board uh I got I had the privilege to get to meet you when I worked for uh then council member uh council member Williams and um you're his jurisdiction overlap with o Grove got to see some of that great stuff that he did over there and so looking forward to uh seeing you support us during this transition period so
049thank you very much for that um with regard to the difficult situation we're going to to the public I appreciate uh and I it might sound dishonest because you you have a very active public that comes out and obviously he's very frustrated but the reality is that what would very difficult would be to have nobody here during those difficult times it would mean that nobody really cares and uh the unfortunate reality is that we are perceived to be that out here in is husin so to see people come out and express their concerns I think it's a a sign of a healthy democracy of individuals coming and engaging providing their inputs David Easton provides this this inputs and outputs model for for policy and out of that input comes out uh the outputs that is
050form of policies and so I I would encourage folks to come out to uh Express their perspective their ideas their thoughts so that the uh board can be informed and can uh uh take that into consideration when making decision on behalf of all the people alrock the assets of alam Rock are everyone's and so therefore we have to take uh and ensure that we're we're doing what's best for everyone in this district and so thank you to those who take time out of your out of your busy schedule to come out to engage I look forward to seeing more folks coming out and engaging and providing their perspectives so that the decisions that are ultimately made uh are done in an informed fashion with everybody's input um and so I I genuinely thank you for
051engaging in Civic life um the realities that we don't have enough of that in the United States it just seems to be kind of like out of fashion or people are too busy watching reality TV or other stuff and um we should have more people engaging here city council Board of Supervisors other other meetings and so um thank you all for engaging and um I completely understand it's a very difficult process I'm a as a parent in the district myself you know it impacts me as well the decisions we make and so it's not being done in a vacuum we understand the the pain and the frustrations out there and so just encouraging everyone to continue to stay engaged to participate and to make your voice heard thank you um my condolences to the family
052of Nixon Kon Guerero it seems as though you raised an amazing healthy wonderful good and faithful son I'm sorry for your loss and um I would like to thank uh the C Chavez Community for the time from our 05 and I'm sure you guys are having so much fun with those little babies and happy anniversary and um I wanted to thank Dr almasan and um I don't want to get all sappy because I already told you yesterday but thank you for stepping up and when it was needed we appreciate you and like I said um nobody really fully understands everything that you've done and sacrificed for this District but 25 years is a lot and I want to thank and welcome Sandra Garcia who was also put in so many years in here and um
05330 years is also uh you've done wonderful work and um I welcome you to the new role of the academic student services and I know you're going to do really great job there thank you and um Mr Manny Barbara you come so highly recommended and I've never seen such an impressive resume but um I look forward to working with you thank you for step Up For alumrock Students thank you and um moving on to 601 uh this item uh is approved deferral of The Proposal deadline of the old Maxa Youth Center uh do I uh have any first I'm G to take public comment um is there any public comment for item seeing none uh I'm going to ask for the trustees comment but first I will ask for a motion uh does anybody want
054to give me a motion can I just speak to the item for I'll make a motion yeah we I'll make a motion you get a motion can I get a second oh second okay uh the motion was from uh uh trustee um Andrea and the uh second was from VP uh Kino and the um you now have the floor thank you thank you president um I um thank you for the second vice president kto um uh I'm not on the uh Workforce housing committee or what do we call it the housing committee now um and so haven't been privy to the the full conversations around the old moxa Youth Center um but I have had um my own discussions um just sort of with the community and trying to understand where we're at um in
055terms of um the propos proposal deadline which we stated I don't know when we stated it but it would it was um slated for August 8th um our regular board meeting I believe in August um and given information in terms of um meeting some more time um I brought this forward to um and as you see it says to a date to be determined um because I wanted to just have a discussion here on whether the administration um should bring back a timeline for a process with the recommended new final date so that it's clear to everybody um or to you know ask Administration or the the committee members um here as to when they think a new um date would be proper and then I also just wanted to make sure folks know that
056you know this isn't in perpetuity or anything we want to set a new date um and also wanted to make sure that it doesn't conflict with um the housing projects as they stand so again just wanted to bring back for discussion push the date out and then open to um the um board's input on whether a new date should be set or if the administration should come back thank you uh um vice president GTO so uh thank you for the item I was initially hesitant about us moving forward and adjusting the date without having um any sort of interest from the public because I didn't want to seem like or project that Alan rocks out there just kind of changing dates however after conversations with some of the uh um folks who've been engaging uh
057and have um been been to site visits um and did mention hey if there's interest um then folks need to reach out and express that because I don't I I said as one individual I don't believe that alrock needs to go out there and we've done our part now we need to hear from folks if there's real interest then you need to ask for an extension and so we did receive a uh a request for a six-month extension from one of the key leaders that's been uh mobilizing and bringing people together so I think that an individual has credibility uh and so it's for that reason I'll be supportive of of actually right here if you'd be willing to to Grant the six-month extension y as opposed to sending it off to staff since we've
058asked we've received a request I think it just makes sense to honor since they're out there hustling and looking for absolutely so I'd amend my emot um motion to uh defer the deadline for proposals until February January month help me oh we're in July sorry December so January January would be January 2025 at the first uh meeting okay okay and then I would just like to um also hear administration's input just to to clarify that it also doesn't impact um the housing project at some point Y wait wait so so you before you give the answer um usually what we do is we meet in the 3 of January because a lot of people go on vacation so I'm actually going to put a stop date of January 16 2025 and so if you'd like
059to address that Mr CA thank you uh Madam b um this is to address trusty FL Shelton's question in terms of the impact the workforce housing yes the answer is no it shouldn't thank you okay and now okay I and I think my questions answered in order to support this yeah okay so um to make it easier for the executive secretary to uh because she's not in the room and so I'm going to start asking everybody uh by name to V on it okay so we already have a first and second there was no public comment we already did the trustees comment so we were we'll now be voting on 601 uh trusty fam how I okay trusty um Sheldon yes uh trusty Cora hi uh vice president kto Hi and uh Chavez I it's
060unanimous 5 Z and so let's move on to 602 approve resolution president I I'd like to make the motion okay motion to approve item 6.02 uh approve resolution number 4-42 improving board community relations uh you know and uh you know uh I wait for a second I need a second anybody want a second second by um vice president uh Gino um do do we have any public comment on item 602 uh seeing none do we have any further truste comments you know so I didn't see whose hand went up first who who hand uh okay um trusty minf fam can you please go first okay yes explain uh you know uh now I bring this item to the board uh you know in response to you know some very valid uh concerns from parents from
061Saturday that you know uh you know uh trustees don't all you know trustees should be more engaged with the community right and I want to you know I try to do my part and you know I understand that as a part-time body uh we all you know we have day jobs and sometimes that limits uh you know that limits our capacity and also it also means that in order to you know to do job to get out there to the public uh you know it it's you know it would help that the board get members of the board have uh access to the district you know have uh you know received the uh District calendar and also reive earlier notice for uh District sponsored um public events and School site sponsored uh public event so
062it's in that spirit that I um bring this item for the board's consideration to direct you know the administration just you know very simple items uh provide provide the bo members of the board with the district calendar and also to uh you know with guidelines to uh provide board members three months notice for district sponsored uh public events and two months notice for School site sponsored public events so that uh you know members of the board have an opportunity to promote the district and to meet our constituents where they are thank you uh trusty uh Flor Shel thank you um first I just want to thank Dr almazon for most it felt like one of your very first actions was to Institute um a document that we received every Friday that populated the events as
063known to the district office um to keep us as um up to as possible so I really appreciate that because I think it made a a big difference when school um you know in those April May June months when there's just a lot going on and a lot to keep track of so I appreciated that um I'd like to ask the maker and second or if um because I believe the three month and TW month time frames um I understand I totally understand why you're putting um that out there I'm I'm just wondering um if something along the lines of provide as soon as possible or as soon as um you know within a week of of the district being noticed because I'm not sure if if you know if School sites are planning that
064far ahead or you know I just not sure if the Cadence um is possible right so get the intent I'm just wondering if the specificity could be um broader so that it it's makes it for the administration to implement in a realistic way so again just asking for something a little broader given the fact that some of some of these events you know it was kind of like I think probably two month two weeks um you know oh a council memb coming to read a book to a classroom or something in you know and those are the type of things that um you know we're not notified of right away I get what you're saying about district and School site so maybe thinking more broadly but again I'm just looking for maybe a little less
065specificity to help the administration just to clarify you know Madam president you know when I met for example uh the district stowing be for example that's sort of like a statutory District event and you know earlier in February uh I mean I we you know I I I remember getting less than a week's notice about uh The District spelling be so when it when it means Public District sponsored public events I was thinking s you know the spelling be right or the uh parent University graduation you know the eighth grade graduations back to District night right now you know if it were a appearance by a council member you know reading to children at a school you know I guess you know that's not so much a district sponsored public event right so I was
066thinking in the frame of okay the district's playing this big event we're going to invite members of the public to come to this big celebration that was sort of what I was meaning with public events it wasn't sort of that the impromptu to uh you know say the two weeks notice from the council member's office right but I'd be happy to uh you know uh amend amend you know uh you know I'd be amable to an amendment to say uh and as soon you know for appearances by public officials as soon as possible type of deal right okay so uh so will the seconder of that motion agree to uh amending it to end as soon as possible yeah for for appearances by public officials for appearances by public officials did you get all that
067um uh marel yes thank you anything else anything else I I see trusty yes that's why I'm asking you no okay now trusty ER oh and then uh Dr alasan thank you um and trusty FL florel you brought up exactly what I was thinking because I took myself back to being a PTA parent and sometimes we would organize events for the week after or you know within the month and so um I did see you know that time frame and then I saw the two months notice public events hosted by the individual School sites so um I was going to also request and I think we were almost there but we kind of with this kind of public official line um I was like a darn it I I was going to be good and
068like not say anything I was like they got it but for me would I mean you know like maybe whenever possible um or something like that just in general um because there might be some times where they're not able to not us three months or two months ahead um so I mean I you know I think we get the the um purpose of this you know we we want to know as soon as possible but I would hate for somebody and not necessarily us but in the future to say it says two months here you know why didn't you um so I think that like whenever possible just in general would help okay so I'm actually going to make a comment before Dr Alan and then Dr alasan and then vice president kto um I'm
069going to ask you to amend the motion again uh one of the reasons why is because in August um there's a night out at Linda Vista and so um I just found out about it a week ago because my husband went to one of the churches over there they had a dump site thing and so they were handing these out so this is going to take place on at the Linda Vista school and it's at the alen Rock one of the sites of alen rock so I would also like it to include as well as like the baseball uh for the alen rock Little League we've we've never been uh given notice when it starts when it ends so any and to include any event happening on an alen Mo School site um and I'm
070willing to amend my motion okay well the seconder are you willing to amend that motion as well okay so the uh uh thank you uh so now Dr alasan yeah thank you uh Trustees for um your comments on this particular uh resolution and um you know being being in my past life as a site administrator there's a lot of um events that happen that are the traditional events the customary events like you know back to school night right and um and and you know I think about m in their gingerbread you know uh bread night in uh making night uh in in December which are all customary and those are the things that we can plan for but I would like to just have just a little bit of latitude and flexibility for our school
071sites because there are events that it is Major to to the school site but it may come as you know as as short as two weeks three weeks because it might come from an idea from a PTA uh member for example or a student that may see some value in you know bringing you know uh Community together like our ASB you know that that have these great ideas so um so not only just public officials but also just you know the creativity and you know the the the things that make that culture and climate at these unique sites that we have you know um celebrate celebrate um certain things that are important to them so it may not fall into that two-month notice public event so I'm just also um asking for a little bit
072of flexibility and latitude for for stuff like that okay um vice president G I'd like to thank my colleague for bringing forward the resolution um we've had it in the past over the time that I've been on the board practices of getting a calendar and then somehow they just kind of stopped happening because something happened and so I I think it's important to have some sort of a master calendar that um we're able to put in the regular stuff that everybody knows is going to happen on a certain date and then start plugging in those other things I I would not expect uh anybody to go out there hold somebody say well you didn't put it on there but it didn't even happen you know or nobody was notified until a week prior that's a
073case or if it was kind of a a thing that just popped up then it's expected that we wouldn't get until it it happened I guess until it was planned so um I I'm supportive I think that folks um if there's the possibility of clarifying but just uh at least in my my thought is that it's a master calendar that things are being plugged in as it's going along as as it's it's being built out and that um the board would have access to it to be able to see and plan out what it is that we can go to and what um what you know just in case we have opportunity or we have conflicts so that those are my thoughts on the on the policy I'm assuming that those were your those were
074my colleagues thoughts when you were developing this that um it was going to be used as a punitive uh type of a thing but rather this thing that allows us all to plan out our schedules and be more present in um the various activities that are taking place throughout the district okay thank you for everybody's comment so uh everybody had a chance to speak and so now we're going to vote um trusty fam how do you vote wait a minute I did see Andre were you gonna speak you had your hand up I I appreciate that thank you um I I am realizing the mindfulness of the budget that we just approved and thinking about just wanting to State on the record how lean this Administration and how lean our school sites are in terms
075of being able to communicate we've had difficult conversations about being unable to fill um Communications roles or or refill them after we had them and um just trying to understand sort of behind the scenes like organizing this and coordinating this and communicating all this that that's a job right that's a job and I'm not sure if we have um what we've done in terms of trying not to affect you know the school sites what do you do you we cut budgetarily the Strategic support right the infrastructure and the ability for fiscal and admin and all these folks to do um all the things we want right we want all the things and so I just want us to be mindful and that's why I think broadly again I I appreciate the spirit and the intent
076and it's also just a matter of what's reasonable for a district this lean to hit these types of marks so again I think at the end of the day I will support it but I think this Administration and each School site should be granted Grace um and I think everyone you know will understand that hopefully thank you for saying that truste Sheldon um you're right what's reasonable and and nobody's going to be a stick I I trust that we're not going to be you know micromanaging the calendar any of us so within reason uh it would be great if it could be done thank you um go ahead um let my expectation is that somebody has to have a calendar to look out the and what's taking place throughout the district to and if if
077if that calendar can be shared with the board um that way we all know what's going on and we can attend demands and things of that sort not asking for anybody at least in my I was not expecting that this resolution is gonna lead to having to hire an entire position to just fill this this this this thing I was assuming that we can take we can use somebody's calendar who's already getting a broad view of what's going on in the district and then we can use that to to uh the benefit of the so the board can be more present um at various public events that are accessible to everyone that was that was uh thank you for adding that as well uh so we're gonna vote now trusty fam how do you vote
078I uh trusty Sheldon yes uh trusty Corina I uh vice president quto Hi and I vote I so um it is approved unanimously 0 is the vote uh moving on to 603 direct step have to provide a cost for the preparation of the resolution number 7023 24 and may uh you speak on that uh minan because you were the one who brought it to us so uh you know Madam president I'll just say uh you know as someone who served on the bond committee right and I you know I want to make clear that this is you know uh the resolution number 70- 2324 k sort of as a surp you know I I you know uh usually in my experience having served on the bond committee uh uh such measures usually you know come
079with uh you know at least two three months discussion given that uh you know B Bond resolutions have a higher passage threshold and does require going to an election and so uh uh you know uh in in this time of uh what is it leaner budgets uh you know uh I you know I you know I I ask that the board you know uh my colleagues consider you know uh directing staff to provide to the board of cost for the pre preparation of the resolution because uh you know some you know I believe that some you know uh we need to be transparent about the the cost of preparing something that you know uh that I that I I I see in my experience uh in bond oversight is uh you know relatively rushed and
080uh you know and so uh uh a resolution that had uh small chance of Passage and in uh you know and place fairly quickly on the last regular board meeting agenda you know it it it does it does set off some alarm Bells some red flag so I think that you know for you know in the interest of public transparency uh you know uh I you know I would respectfully ask my colleagues to uh ask uh Administration to provide the cost of the preparation for that resolution motion yeah I motioned is that a can I get a second okay so there's a first and a second um any more comments not for okay trusta uh am I prepping for this my understanding is that that's what the um Administration was going to come and do
081today is that correct uh no this was I I I think I remember you asking when we passed it you asked the administration to come back and um provide a cost something I don't recall I did ask I after the meeting uh you know in public I did send an email to Dr alazon and uh okay so maybe CH you know and at this time you know uh I I thought that it you know uh for the Ben e e e
