004we have weathered terrible storms yet here we are still standing strong but now it is time for us to go our separate ways it is time to explore New Horizons and to make our mark on the world as we set on our own individual paths we must remember that we are not alone we have each other and we have the knowledge skills and experiences that we've gained over the years we must use these to make a positive impact on the World to contribute to society and to make a difference in the lives of others you have the freedom to choose your path it may not be linear in nature but I'm confident that we return Victorious and successful remember to always be kind to others and help those who are in need never forget your
005roots we are the Western Pioneers before I quite never understood why we were and most early couldn't relate to being a Pioneer entering as a freshman an old man with a beard not the most intimidating in the spring of our freshman year we were thrown at curveball like no other everything stopped we stopped you on class blank Sports and seeing our everyday folks life just stopped we were forced to Pioneer a new method of learning and of living despite all the odds with some of us experiencing technological issues household problems and family emergencies we are here you are all here with me dressed quite nicely may I Ed as graduates many of the first in-ear families and as future contributors to society now as a senior I feel like I finally understand why we are
006pioneers we are the first to explore new worlds we are burdened with challenges and yet we persevere because we are partners now it is time for us to go and give what we can to the world so as we celebrate this momentous occasion remember to always seek after the light the light of knowledge the light of love and the Light Of Hope congratulations class of 2023. 007[Applause] [Music] because I knew you because I knew you I have been changed before [Music] [Applause] but then I guess we know there's blame to share [Applause] [Music] price [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] [Applause] what a beautiful performance I would like now to introduce our next senior speaker Madison Spencer [Music] good morning um So within the past four years we've been through a pandemic resulting in distance learning losing loved ones due to covid a mental health crisis unemployment Financial struggles and loneliness in the end look where we are sitting in chairs with anticipation waiting for them to call our names so we can realize our goal of graduating be who and what we want to truly be however we cannot be where we are now without high school itself for me it was
008during the year and a half long pandemic when I realized what I wanted to do with my life I made an action in September of 2020 that could have stopped me from living my true potential and I regret it for years to come yet this same action made me decide what I wanted to do with my life to help people in medical emergencies I aspire to be a paramedic and then become a forensic nurse I want to do this not just for me but for society itself to help others in times of need and protect the community from medical mishaps it's a passion for me to go forth and protect and save those that I can high school prepared me to know times will be tough and it will get hard this would all be
009impossible without being pushed to my limits it was when my mom Ginny taught me how to read Because all my teachers had given up on teaching me yet she saw my potential and taught me it was when Senora Ruiz told me if I wanted to learn Spanish that I could do it because he knew I had the potential it was when my dad kept pushing me past my limits because he knew I was capable of better things it was when I got a three on my AP English Language exam it was when Miss Chavez nominated for the Mary E Moore Foundation inspirational scholarship award and I actually got it it was those times when I realized I can do it because I have the potential for every student that sits here today thank you thank
