002ceremony at this time i would like to introduce the 2021-22 asb president and master of ceremonies christian song is an exemplary leader and scholar having taken many advanced placement courses honors dual enrollment christian was recognized for his academic achievements and qualifying for the emerald chain as a junior christian is a three-year member of kennedy's asb serving as sophomore junior class president and this year's asb president in addition to his involvement in asb christian has been an active member in the kennedy choir for four years serving as a class officer in his sophomore year vice president his junior year choir president during his senior year his dedication towards leadership and humanitarian efforts have also led him to co-founding the humanitarian resource association in his junior year helping not only establish the hra chapter at kennedy but

006christian church [Applause] in the fall kira plans on attending a junior college before transferring to a four-year university kira's career goal is to major in education earn a teaching credential and become a special education teacher please welcome our first speaker kira irik [Applause] we live in a fast-paced world a timer is set as soon as you begin and instantly a rush of anxiety overcomes you as you hurry to finish before the deadline we are constantly pushing to be the best be the fastest and stand out all while projecting this perfect version of yourself these past 13 years have gone by in a split second we were rushing to get to the next thing and we never noticed how fast time was passing us by i remember in kindergarten thinking about the year 2022 and counting
007down the days until our big graduation it would be a monumental event we signified as being grown up we painted this picture that once we hit this day we would now be adults who could do whatever we wanted life seems so limitless and so free now here we are on our big day we've been looking forward to for so long with the people we spent our lives with expected to move on to bigger and better things there's an expectation that after this after we walk across this stage instantly we know exactly what we're going to do for the rest of our lives but success is different to every single one of us and there's a beauty to that some of us see success as scoring the highest on the test while others see it as
008being the mvp of their sports team it's what makes us exquisite success is not measured by your degree on the wall or by the size of your paycheck years of schooling does not equal years of happiness you cannot live someone else's life you've only got one just for you you see sometimes you don't know the end result sometimes you just have to go along for the ride without knowing the destination and that is okay we are all doing our best none of us know what is coming next nor do we know exactly what to do high school is just a word until your memories give it meaning to some kennedy high school is just a campus but to us seniors it is a safe place a shape-shifter a motivator and even a home it's the
009people inside that have molded us into the people we have become every teacher every counselor every staff member has helped us on our journey of life these past four years they've picked up our pieces and we've fallen apart they have told horrible jokes just to make a smile and they have provided a light when all else was dark and alongside them it's every parent guardian family member neighbor whoever is here supporting you today even if it's just yourself they are the foundation of who you have become see high school is hard but we've been given the gift of these people who hold our hands through it and to them i thank you i appreciate you i acknowledge you finally i want to leave you with this slow down allow yourself to breathe you have made
010it allow yourself to enjoy the moment savor it take pauses in your daily life to remember how far you've come on this journey of life i am proud of you [Applause] i would like to introduce our next two speakers candace choi and marlo boromeo first candace choi is an adventurous artistic student who has pursued her passion as an asb art commissioner auhsd dial magazine art editor publicist for bsu and visual arts student she's also been involved in the kennedy shamrock regiments drum line for four years as a base drummer and has achieved academic success as an honor roll student in the fall candace plans on attending california state university fullerton where she plans to pursue her dreams of becoming an animator or concept artist marlo boromeo is an exceptional scholar having taken multiple advanced placement
011and honors classes throughout high school and has been recognized multiple times through academic awards such as the honor roll and the emerald chain marlow has been a part of the school's shamrock regiment for two years as a euphonium player marlow also has been part of several clubs and organizations such as the national honor society the california scholarship federation black student union and has been an officer for the technology student association he's also placed much time effort and dedication in the career pathway for software and systems development with this focused in mind marlow is planning to attend uci irvine in the fall as either a computer an engineer or science major it's my pleasure to welcome candace choi and marlo boromeo to the podium oh welcome ladies and gentlemen to the class of 2022's graduation ceremony
012my name is marla bormeo and my name is candice choi we thank everyone seated here in the audience for coming except our siblings candice i'm just saying there's no way my bag of chips just magically disappeared laughs anyways anyways in all seriousness we think our parents friends and the rest of our families including our siblings candace for their amazing support throughout these past four years and fellow seniors give yourselves a round of applause for just the work and dedication you put in [Applause] let's take a recap of high school because man being here takes me back i seriously can't believe that we're already seniors and let alone graduating today same i remember watching youtube videos on how to act all cool and mature for the first day of high school what can i say i'm
013the master sure whatever you say candace hey we did have to experience uh new different things to become the seniors we are now right are you kidding me that is some serious sugar coating how are you gonna say that acne and facial hair are good experiences um i'm talking about how we went through changes because we tried new things throughout high school well when you put it like that yeah i guess so for me at least joining marching band was what ultimately helped me find a greater passion for music exactly and marching band wasn't the only thing that provided new horizons for people there were all types of performing arts such as choir and theater there are all types of clubs fueled by passionate interests and let's not forget our athletes the ones that seem
014to run six miles a day without even breaking a sweat i don't know how you do it look regardless of whatever you're involved in we all pour our hearts and souls into something that we are really passionate about and the precious time that we spent doing so is what really defines our high school career and this all started the moment we put our front foot forward and courageously started trying new things we especially saw this when the coveted pandemic had started the pandemic brought so many changes and with it came overwhelming challenges distance learning was one of the biggest hurdles we had to overcome especially with the lack of communication but despite these shortcomings we once again tried new things with the extra time on our hands we explored new interests and we found new
015hobbies some of us began discovering new talents we didn't even know we had it's truly the push towards trying new things that has uncovered passion interest and raw excitement we hope you can keep that same drive with you into the future all in all these past four years have probably been the most definitive years of our lives because of one simple thing we're growing up and as a result of that we're becoming more independent we followed a path full of hurdles just to reach this exact moment but as we march on into the future all of our steps are going to be a tiny bit distinct for a lot of us we're off to college to gain a different perspective on the world around us and for some of us we're diving head first into
