002the end of one of the most trying times in our country's history the pandemic we all persevered and these students sitting before you kept their academic hopes and dreams alive as they sat through hundreds of hours of virtual instruction they did it they have come out on the other side and if they can do that there are not many things that will slow them down from here on behalf of our administration faculty staff and our board of trustees i want to thank you for your attendance at our commencement ceremony today your support is appreciated and i know your children are grateful for the support you give them every day of their lives class of 2021 just remember keep it simple be where you're supposed to be and do what you're supposed to do at this

007enduring countless hours of schoology conferences and zoom meetings with us as well as the awkward silence that always seems to follow the discussion questions you ask for being patient and understanding with us even after you asked us what we talked about in our breakout rooms and we had nothing to share i know that you never agreed to any of this when you signed up to become a teacher but for this reason we'll all remember you the most and to my class one day when our children are in school studying the absolute atrocity that was the year 2020. they'll look to us and ask what was it like living through a pandemic what will you tell them same as usual because all i ever did in my teenage years was stay inside and eat snacks or
008maybe i'm just speaking for him myself most importantly what have you learned from being in isolation for over a year life is full of so many unexpected circumstances you can be one of the greatest athletes in the world but one severe back injury could change all that you can have the most beautiful singing voice but one case of vocal nose could end your career wealth and riches can go away just as fast as they came and sometimes two weeks of quarantine can turn into one year things don't always go according to plan but if there's one thing that this pandemic has taught us it's that we are resilient we can't always control what happens to us in life but what we do have control of is how we handle what we're given throughout this year
009anytime anyone has asked me how i feel about being in this situation i've only ever said that all i want is a real graduation and here we are instead of dwelling on the fact that we may have missed out on not one but two proms not to you know rub it in or anything let's just acknowledge the fact that we've made it and we're here in only the two years since i've transferred to catella i've come to realize that the community at this school is truly unlike any other i know many of us will miss walking through those front gates and allowing the feeling of familiarity and calmness to settle over us knowing that we've entered the nurturing environment that this school has established we'll miss the teachers who made us believe in ourselves and
