Raymond then talk up please good evening board I would hope that you all know why I'm here tonight despite the lack of response I've received from all of you except for you and I thank you for that the policy that which a child is at least from your schools as ours been missing for a period of three hours because when asked what the policy

003was we were told by two teachers in that front office as long as the child is comfortable with someone and then honestly individual they may be there is no check there's no confirmation because people just have places to be that can't be that cannot be the policy it simply cannot be something has to change I'm not here to attack any of you I'm not here to call for a firing squad or to call for action I'm here to be hurt I'm here to be acknowledged just like all these people are here tonight it's not fair what we had to go through it's not fair how we've been treated lack of action again you all know why I'm here look what happened was wrong the cover-up was wrong the things that I do that to go

004through that to ask for help to only be silenced I don't know at school I guess I just really came here tonight to look at you all to see you face to face that you can put a face to the why you are fat what's been done to us that account regardless of anything else he left that it's an emergency parties we're going to change that I'm here to ask for change not now I understand I don't know I don't know if no one else has bothered to say anything I don't know maybe ball just ignored the wave art but I know that something needs to be done and it starts here it starts here this is this is your city you're representing all of these people all of these children you're elected to take

005care of them student safety is our top priority that's what you set out if he didn't repeat it but the facts are there and this intimacy was not I understand that time goes on hey that's his dad I know that that's the sample I know that but on my first day of school whatsoever [Music] thank you you my agency in that situation welcome our new school oh okay welcome your input is very important to us okay and so you're sitting there so that's no you know as a student you know how do you feel about our new Internet our new website it's really great to be able to look at that calendar and they see everything all at once about good thing you know pages that be important you know you just click and it

006goes into your calendar don't even have to transfer it's really nice but um I also want to thank mr. Gomez and his staff we had a delicious lunch and they had a tough old man there right and we all wouldn't have lunch and you know spoke a little bit and socialized together Newton he likes before school starting before everyone starts getting into the you know madness it was it was a nice knowing Thank You Tacoma saying she's a high school staff and I first needed to go I went to several schools and seemed like everyone seemed could be organized all the kids were all in class you know by a certain time and it was really nice and good today I did go to poetry for their first Panther parent reading it had a rapier

007not but it was also great to see several parents of TK parents over there like I said up to Kaminsky you know when they start young the parents seem to get involved you know and they were the kind of how nervous you know but it was good because you know some offered to demean the hospitality committee or to help in the fundraising committee and anyway it was really good um I once think um less about me mrs. we be yeah she did a really good job and have the parents still walking in her school leadership that the coffee and that's what you need to do you have to have you know walking me to the schools to the parents and their parent center to make them want to come back and that that's what I

008just thank you very much our better semana so speaking Spanish I do have a request and then the last thing that I wanted to say I know my cousin by name from the Arts Institute in intensive stuff for me everybody never failed and my mom always said about something that means and take that with you you know you'll find that you get people here coming to the podium and this is a place of good and I've always said I'd power/power the podium you come here and he was absolutely right you put a face to an email you put a face to a problem and so I connect with that person so that was very powerful when you did a very intense but you know as you go to life all we know that you know

009that's an option for you no matter where you go always speak your mind that people care you out and that's you know so yeah this is a great place you're gonna have you're gonna see great things you know I'm here you're gonna see some not-so-great things but that's okay too that's okay and again we don't you know we value your input and I have to be the time so thank you very much for being here for me and we're moving on to comments and reports by the student members oh um hi September go back to school and I at 6:00 p.m. September 7 Soka University guest speaker little figured 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 and September gage hired car wash at Gladstone high school circle drive 7 a.m. Japan September 10th University of Laverne met speaker

011high vs. Gladstone's girls tennis is just at high school okay so say one special thank you to our folks and account the last few weakens and tonight's taping here all night and all weekend working super harm and I wanted to extend that even a step further to Claudia who's here tonight and just say thank you for helping us to leave that war and from the week we're helping these at work without you for our teachers or they've been working hard so we can get that retro check out to you on time and so we work really hard thank you congratulations some more district we value all of our employees learning professional learning through meaningful and rigorous professional development on August 29th Wednesday we partnered up with in service system team Tolson and we had an

012awesome PD or employees twenty substitute employees showed up voluntary and wearing face positions we invited them and they showed up 3:30 p.m. after a full day of work to learn about some of the instructional strategies in the district to learn more about PBIS and creative state creating safe positive and effective learning environments they were hungry for more nothing we met one comment she was exit teacher said we've never experienced anything like this in any other district it was amazing so they asked for other topics we want to continue this type of professional development so we're gonna keep and services together with HR is working on that following day on August 30th we held another type of the training for many meted reporters at the National Street and elementary cafeteria and I want to thank publicly

013Melissa Vera on the thing of course lights on Street and everyone who helped put that together because it really emphasizes that the safety well-being of our children is a number-one priority so we were happy that there was a really good turnout the cafeteria was packed it was really warm in there and the feedback was very positive and said that it was informational and they walked away with a good understanding talked about throwing the chalk across the room so it was it was a good opportunity for training for learning coming together to make sure that as a district we know what to do to keep our children safe a couple of new things that we added to our Event Reporting efforts that have to do with an information sheet a summary sheet and then an acknowledgement

014form that everyone signed and is trending in the third thing I want to share is along the lines of safety is related to TV certification we do stay on top of that the notices i've already gone out to any employees that need to renew their TV certification and that will be completed in a timely fashion but thank you I just wanted to update the board last week we held our parent maniaci informational meeting and it was at least three times larger than it was last year we were standing room only in the foothill at the foothill Middle School Auditorium so we had a really big audience that day we announced some exciting changes to the maniaci number one we're moving homes this will be our third home I believe that money actually when it first

015started we started at Dalton Elementary then I moved to Slauson and now we're moving to Hill middle school so Florida will be the new home for mariachi number two we also announced that we're moving from Tuesday marathons from 3:30 and 7:30 to Tuesdays and Thursdays so we'll be we'll be doing money action for Tuesdays and Thursdays depending on the level is when the students would go so we can get students home at a at a much earlier time advance student so I'm gonna get more face time with the instructors this year so that's a positive and then we got a standing ovation for the next one this year we're gonna be offering as an option to students who are in high school and in money actually to take money as a as an A to

016G approved map of course and so we got a standing ovation for for that our students deserve it and so we're looking forward to that I want to thank Sam has been Sanford Roman principal infidel has been very accommodating with the facilities we're housing the instruments they are now and the uniforms and then a big shout-out to Carlos would be Rios Rodriguez who is a teacher who was there that night to help support and to talk parents and then hoping dinner over there as well not to be done the elementary bad-mannered meeting having that same week also with a pattern of much more money many more parents in attendance so that's that's great that that's happening in our district that we can offer those programs so right now we already go that night alone we

017had over 100 applications submitted but right now we think that that is that we'll be able to accommodate that with the with the new set up with the instructors that we have we think that we should be fine I'm very happy to college done all their coursework and be ready to go and such as college students were featured and our school was featured in this campaign to promote one of their programs which is actually a new program which of Michael's talk about the test different development of that program but we were selected from a series of schools throughout the Southern California area there were two high schools that were selected paramount high school in Gladstone high school generally speaking what the filmmakers told us is they really enjoyed kind of a classic look at the

018school when they interact with the students they really know this enthusiasm and the the variety of different programs were available they walk around their campus and I walk with them around our campus and they look at the auto shop but they looked at various other things and they said you know this is a great location and we really like these kids and let's take a look at it so they were again that really enjoyed the diversity of the students on our campus the diversity of different locations where this could be filmed their statement was that anywhere anyone a country could can relate to this experience I think that there's a lot of our community in the kitchen so I spent a whole day with them last wednesday they did rap at the end of the

019day on Wednesday a couple of very cool things the whole rig isn't attached to kids best thing there's a video on our Facebook page so Chris explain explain why that was whose perspective where they tried to intention in the video in a completed video it's going to be to surf toast story beginning from receiving kind of a letter going to school from a student's point of view and this rig has a kind of a cam about a nose level of the kid some sort of experience kids going to school holding the snake playing volleyball which is a tremendous shot really awesome interacting with a mathematics class and our CPM mathematics classes from at home receiving a letter from college acceptance all for point of view of students and I think that's they wanted to just

020tell the story about a kid experiencing that whole process of plant working hard applying and being accepted to a college is being able to to get the support they need to be successful towards the secondary education post-secondary education and I've been I'm really proud of them they selected our school that they selected our kids the kid the kid actually wearing the rig isn't going to be in the video it's going to be the people they experience an international with and we're really looking forward to the final product which was supposed take place in October the director says that sometimes that when they're hired they grab all the footage and then the client sort of pieces together he is gonna be on the editing team he told me died there's cork or not it's gonna be

021on the editing team and he's really happy to be out of school and they I guess I should use me email today from a Sousa Pacific that they went on until the 82 people when they talked to him the other day I was terrific it was a great experience man they're great kids really excited so again I'm very humbled that they selected us but I'm really happy that our kids and our teachers get to be the feature in the story that goes across the country about kids and success [Applause] [Laughter] [Music] first of all they asked me to write a words and I mentioned so I said I was honored why don't you see this to work with riser notice Elise she's when she was one of my mentors when she was a Congress only

02231st district back in 2007 I received a distinguished woman and work from her and I seen how right then sneaking up you know they they could make a difference if you speak up you know when you want something or you know how to get it I think the best is to just speak up in in your mind I I do live in the unincorporated area mezuzah and we have no streetlights no sidewalks and stop signs when I first moved there and I'm wondering looking on the screen right they have sidewalks in students don't realize I guess the other great area and the commentary I'm like what is that supposed to mean well it's different lending so what we did get together mr. Hamilton the flexible at Murray school and residents and we learned how to

023do petition is in you know look speak to if there's money would you have to know how to seek it in the puppet people in the proper connections but now today we have streetlights that rocks introductions and that time to deal with the community and mr. Hamilton was a great help also in May erosion in an supervisor the tongue was very Molina so and I just talked about my year because this party cuz she recognized me because I've been having the Christmas party for 14 years my husband and I started doing that for 14 years where are you from Boyle Heights in warrants are you are going to work the Christian party and we were going in the bus all these kids from the park and get one time so we thought that we Azusa

024we started out of our pocket just Goku's in candy canes work and progressed there was community we have community people coming out and don't need either time Cody does over 300 pictures any ID sticks they're in railroad job 90 kids in here he's my Santa just once you know just saying that you know working together can make it 300 children in my home and it's all done through donations and people walk during the time when you and how students from APU scholars are the ones that come and help with the arts and crafts and it's all feeding the children another creative area of Azusa my said Mike you should get the Christmas lights in them in the music and another committee completed hot dogs and mr. O'Connor had mark and we we hire all these

025people - and there go there and help and that's pretty much you know what why they gave me used to work you know having to do but I felt that just like waiting for school whatever actors can work because I felt you know I consider myself an activist in my community because you know doing things have been meaning to speak up and you need to get involved and we want the change in agreeing so like my platform is at the time in Ireland am I was a voice now hope I can sit here and you know find the right things that are for the kitchen Unified School District and I'm very happy to be here I'm tired and um June 2011 but I ran for office in June in July in Kentucky 11 so I

026really did not retired I worked 40 years in the garden district and I'm wearing talk to meet her than my second career so I thought anything so great floating it up so nice in my family between members in all okay awesome wonderful evening so far we are moving on to the 9.0 report external closed session matters main point once do it matter final settlement for Office of Administrative Hearings for both a piece number two zero one eight zero seven one zero three six student number 18 - 19 zero one zero to whatever wishes to the board first i motion passes 5-0 moving out the templates are general functions template one approve change order number two architects MSP incorporated box on high school and very elementary school fencing improvements what are the wishes of important variables

027global I'll second but can we clarify that it's not obscene runner for MSD but it's there well contractors to bid on it there was a bid that was received accepted by a company called HD mp3 they've done the work and actually came in just a little bit under what was allocated so they came in a hundred and fourteen dollars 41 cents less than we expected so this change order is saying okay we are now moving the fact that you came in under the budget it's uh green passes by m0 okay moving on template to need have a presentation on the 2018-19 enrollment okay so we go through a process to count our kids make sure that to make sure that we have the most accurate numbers so we can look at staffing if there's any

028needs within the beginning of school - okay we're not we would need staff to see a blue need to move them we need extra staff in sites so we have a very very close monitoring process in this schools go into an online system they enter their data and so we saw some good so for our total enrollment that's et K through 12 and that's early it's our early transitional 12 grade we were projecting that would have 18,000 107 kids and the good news is we came out for day 10 which definitely we go a little bit more even by p1 8120 for kids that is good news we came out 17 kids ahead of where checked so we're we're right where we thought we would be where six pretty pretty accurate as far as what

029we thought some of the good trends that we saw was looking at positive movement kids it'll be with this for the longest period of time or kindergarten kids and we have 55 more kids than last year so actually in my numbers just looking at the trends I saw I predicted that we would actually decrease by a small percentage and so for us to increase in kindergarten is a massive massive positive for the district why would that be these guys will be with us or believe 12 more years after this year so that'll be kind of a a trend that will continue and then our so arm in terms of the 18 K whip what kind of increases Laster was the first year we did that so we we also saw an increase in the Roman

030and ET King but it's hard to tell if it's true increase or if it's just a change in policy last year we held the reserve and but we built all this so we originally every single elementary school would have an e-zpass room but because we have what's called a hard cap enrollment for our schools for classrooms we didn't want to put ourselves in a situation where week one we loaded up the classroom at 26 and then a true TK came along and now now we're in a word a pickle and so what we did is we progressively throughout the year we started with day 22 then we thought there was 24 and eventually got to 26 but that's that's what he's referring to as far as the blue line which is that's obviously so something

031that's that's a substantive drug yes so if you're looking at 1890s we're only a big 10 so the other graphs are and of course we know that reasons why the transom you know yes every transfer is considered on a case-by-case basis there are some instances where students must be allowed to transfer like for senior privilege or if a district is offering a program that we don't have an illusive things like that that we would allow a transfer this year something we're doing differently as transfers are starting at the school so families go to the school they talk to an administrator at the school and then if there's a denial that would come to the district office at that time but the thinking is that site administrators are best able to tell parents why their school

032is a good place for that student to attend and I think that's the numbers that you're seeing that we are selling our schools a lot better typically the transfers happen now in a school year as a school year starting we get more kids coming in throughout the year but that's a good number that we're looking at that I think that's gonna kind of hold true throughout the year can you also dress she would Slauson I think that was the maximum capacity and I I was told that they have to turn something it's a ways actually so we we a rule of no transfers and from other schools or just eighth grade because those slots are full they had room in the sixth grade and the seventh that's like in there from sin or they want

033to go discussion introducing introduced so we didn't have any should come into joining in actually know anybody who lived in the area so we will do a final count for you about this again well update our enrollment that we use for 88 at the next presentation so we'll show you what those numbers are looking like so that way we which we use to project our revenue for the mark moving on to another point zero inside calendar then point one all matters this is other the same calendar considered by the board and routine it will be enacted by the board in one motion the format following the last consent calendar and demo item there will be no discussion of these items prior to attending board staff for the public requests for specific items to be discussed

034a discussion is requested by a board member that item will be removed the consent calendar and will be considered separately the superintendent and staff recommend approval of agenda so please where's your taxes 5:02 introduced and that is our Earl Castro who is the new director assistant director of fiscal services we is one of the qualities led the team most excited to have somebody there you know as a right hand to make sure that we lead that work I'm nervous with all of you resources [Music] now with me 1913 point soon it's now open the public hearing on the adduced Unified School District collective bargaining agreement proposals for the negotiations Unified School District the California School Employees Association Azusa chapter two 99th district proposal do we have anyone here wishing to speak on this item thank

035you look Gary wasn't a suspect zero moving on to 13.3 there's now there's a public hearing on these unified school district 20 bargaining agreement proposals for negotiations Unified School District in Azusa Federation of adult educators local 6:09 a TMT afl-cio district X Federation proposals do we have anyone here wishing to speak on this item motion passes by oh and I've chosen the public attorney moving out to 13 point form the Board of Education of the courts officially adopted this request collective bargaining proposals for the 2018 1930 school year negotiations with the existing educate educators association where are the wishes of the board we have a first by Gary brothers boom click upon the question discussion questions there you see it on please place your votes congratulations moving on to thirteen point five the Board of

036Education that requires officially adopt the district collective bargaining suppose for the 2018-19 fiscal year negotiations with the California School Employees Association chapter 299 what are the wishes of the board I make a motion to improve their keypoint fine at first but I wanna know there's been yet and a second by showing it goes both phones do we have any discussion [Music] push up houses 5-0 moving on to 13.6 the Board of Education is required to officially adopt this church collective bargaining proposals for the 2018-19 fiscal year negotiations with the Azusa Federation of adult educators local 6:09 8cm ta my upon the question princess first by for McCutchen signify so many people on this discussion 0:13 association straining proposal so we are required to sunshine proposals both either by the visionary or by the associations or

037federations for this occasion this evening AEA is sun shining the topics that they wish to take to the bargaining table to discuss particularly they miss the number of articles the opportunity for the public to know this is what the Association is changing to move forward so that when the public hearing takes place at our next board meeting if they wish to chime in or ask questions make comments they may do so so it's an info item letting the public know this is either two topics 88 moving forward for working for this year we have any questions so now moving on to 14.0 policies and bylaws for ad 14.1 barrel is here this was Lana reading frustrating work policies and writing community relations amended foreign policy VP and administrative regulations a rbp and 8 are 130

03812.3 uniform complaint procedures ep 1 3 to 5 advertising and promotion vp8 are 13:30 use of school facilities these could be boring access to mr. records 18 1,400 relation between other government governmental agencies and the school and you P 1.31 waivers do we have any changes or discussion under three in the last paragraph under three that first piece of the beginning at the top of the second page mark it talks about the superintendent who may with the board approval and treatment for joint use so my my first question in under three it says prior to something the prototypical the board authorized we used to say the board authorizes the use of school facilities on those days the districts are closed now it's subject to prior approval by the board so why the change from us

039allowing it to happen to now require our people before it happens this subject approval by the board comma the superintendent or so it's it's like the board the superintendent or the designee so that would be you guys superintendent - probable by the board superintendent or designee made grant use of the facility so the way this is written it's how we're gonna require us to give approval before authorities before we authorize we can bring back the word authorizes subject to crack ruled by the board authorizing the superintendent or designee make brandies of the school facilities I think I would say the board we can begin so the next person have a question on is for joint use agreements okay so it on the very top of the next case if that's necessary to ensure efficient use

040of school facility the superintendent or designee made with the board of crew bolts with the board's approval enter an agreement for the joint use of any school facilities are grounds so I'm not sure we're going to languages there before but generally if we're going to have a joint use agreement I would expect us that I mean remember the back before that happen to happen that had to happen for us to be able danger school the city facilities and then feel that we're going to enter into a serious joint agreement which means ongoing usage then I think it it requires more than just I'm not sure what this process sets up because it seems like it just allows us to pertinent to negotiate it and so I I prefer to have that I'm I'm not sure

041whether alternative language a female would seek to put there but I just think a joint use agreement it's a different level than just using a site right well I used to be and then my next question is about so in this belt never clear the comment and there's a piece about calculating direct costs right so if we approve this for policy in two weeks have you developed with those costs would be in those estimates that you can share with the board or when will that happens correct I can provide that to you in two weeks so I have a draft of what that can look like based off of usage and time and type of facility so yeah if you already haven't even for you to share the test and this Friday and the reason

042I say that is because um I mean I want us to make sure that we're not that that were they were being responsible with our facilities but I also want to make sure that I think that it's affordable and that people can actually be able to use that facilities so so yes we showed that what was on Friday and then in the in the AR and I'm going to the next one admission regulations [Music] okay second page of the description number three it says so second page are you there any use when involves possession consumption or sale of drugs or any restricted substances including tobacco you remove alcoholic beverages there nm drugs instead now I mean that was just yeah we can and that's fine I mean as long as we as long as alcohol

043is considered our restrictions unrestricted substance which I mean it is it's tobacco muscle consider each trip tonight I'm okay with the language I just I just don't want us to think oh now it's okay for us to have alcohol on our campuses and then three and then on 1341 to access the district records right at the very end of the policy oh no I'm sorry I got the wrong number on the next item 13 on 1400 so I've been very in so second page second to last paragraph it says the board shall receive regular reports of progress towards identifying goals of the collaborative effort and I think that it's the board policy outlined some really great some really great pieces that we should be trying to do in to collaborate with our local government our

044city and our county and and so I just want to get clarity it doesn't act it not in the policy but I just want clarity from you about when these room what is what is regular reports being and when is it what does that mean to us in terms in reporting to us on the goals of collaborating with our city and our county and other entities I'll defer to you so deeply providing that they can you know use our kitchens no but for the most part it is our fields that they're using for all sorts of different sports but we do also have usage of classrooms and you know some of our groups even is for sport leagues oomba and don't use an auditorium or a classroom for that other groups want to rent out

045classrooms because they'll do kind of a Saturday school over and after school and take program so all sorts of different facility but you do have an application with guidelines you know like keep it clean or don't new nervous your models or know the new contract you sign in so the rules prior to this is that you require them to have insurance we require them to both agreement and find that insurance and those agreements and they specify times and dates that they're going to be using the facilities and they're responsible to clean them up if you can't even touch the contract so I can also gonna be modifying that contracting with some of this new language that we're improving in the next session so that way we can include what those facilities use these will be

046so that way we can start charging those small fees so so we can cover the clean up after folks use their facilities or use their facilities and for the folks that are using our facilities right now and then they're actually excited to pay the fees and why because right now they don't have access to our restrooms there on the weekend it's a huge inconvenience when they don't have a restroom facilities for them we're gonna have somebody close up the facilities and make sure the gates are long and when they leave we can make sure that they can use the restrooms and their facility has access to that it's gonna be a win-win for both the community we're having how do you determine because I know the users who's more than others but how how do

047you determine if you have two kings and they want to use how do you do where's closer or um yeah so we the most part it is first-come first-serve and then we should when it's folks that are using in our regular basis we try and work out a schedule for them and we also try and work out a schedule to not overuse and especially when it comes to sports like soccer that are really tear up the feelings so we're trying Pease this year to move them from site to site so that way we space out the usage in our fields or would it be year-round when they use those in soccer soccer is an all year round which is there's different seasons but we have some of the soccer leagues that are seasonal at different

048points of the year so they some soccer leagues are in the fall and then there's nothing to their strength their summer kids and summer and see they're not so in the past they was kind of a self-regulated piece and then there was issues the site administrator would probably notice it on Monday morning and they would bring it to our attention it was a challenge and moving forward being that we're gonna charge fees we can have a custodian there and if there's issues on site we have somebody that can report those issues can call the police if necessary make sure that that we know where the mess came from if there's a mess left behind you know my concern is did you know all this when you were staying on this Goodwin and although you know

049fields are getting done in the 15 and everything you know at the bargaining table has been to make sure that our staff that are those assignments on-call assignments and what have you that they know that they're not security their safety matters too and that there's a call the police but they do become our eyes and ears when we're not there so if one of our staff is serving as maintenance and they're servicing the restroom we're stalking them in ACH this particular team is drinking alcohol on campus their role is to to notify mission which is called police not to go on Thompson hey you can't do that we don't want that to be a confrontation there are responsibilities qualities to notify the administration so that we can revoke them from there or at least okay

050so 40.3 is a first reading but it's an emotional item first reading of board policy to bring personality r41 12.2 verification of certification be p41 12.2 one entrance minute administrative regulations AR we have any questions about before that we have a 14-point - yeah and then one of the reports so I believe that we've been providing the Williams updates to the board and policy bringing and symmetric practice so you're sending the williams inspection which are not done by us we do like pre williams inspections where we go out to verify our sites to make sure that when you okay and then those reports don't come i mean we get reports on williams but not on the crew so we also update from those reports that we create because we now starting 1718 use the Williams

051report format I reformatted it we can use a exact same format and in trade online just like the real Williams reports and so they look identical I'll be measuring the identical components in the same way and those are shared with Jennifer and then Jennifer that shares that so that I mean so that happens rolling through the school year in different sites and so then the final report is share with Jennifer and that becomes where the outcome who you work in the board or we need a way to do in the year we it's up to the board but in the past we've done it at the end after I think that would be good the way that's something you must win a report by sites when they go to sites we're talking about a report

052that summarizes the findings so we can group them into quarters ep 4 1 1 2 point 2 1 in terms of ended any questions changes discussion their movie nights at 14.4 restraining a board policy regarding students eliminated they are 5-1 1 1 point 1 3 presidency for homeless children new BP and a tarah51 12.3 student minimum of absence any questions discussion changes there okay moving on to 14.5 first reading at war policy regarding instruction emitted foreign policy and a r61 one to schooling amended 8r6 1 1 5 ceremonies and observances of the may 8th r61 for 154 international Beckler program eliminated 8r6 1 or 1.5 bad placement amended or policy and 8 are six one six two point five one standardized testing an important program been MBT 6-1 6-2 deny or test integrity test preparation

053amended board policy and AR six one six two point six use of copyrighted material event in BP six one six three point one library Media Center's changes [Music] including language yes so under [Music] where would that where would that go do we have in a different part for policy someplace so on the second page you have many different days that we celebrate yes for the yeah can you give me one second yes I will I will [Music] 61 62.5 one I just have a general question I notice it even crossed out the accommodation speeds that are connected to English learners look to Marvin or norm on that one well okay so the piece that is crossed out is due to the fact that there's currently not a designated primary language assessment as part of the

054caste system but they are currently field testing these the essay that come from a Spanish assessment that will become part of the caste system yeah no I'm not something I'm talking about there's a there's a whole team so there's a whole time in what accommodations for special ed and then there was one about accommodation for English learners but no that's not policy and one of the things I think Marvin and Jennifer I think receive use your health in terms of researching is whether the old star program which is accommodations such as kids have access to a whole dictionary or brighter things under the new caste those accommodations are built into the tests itself they're not separate language philosophies built right in the conversation about about the process and then my last question is on the

055left the last item that's the library Media Center's and so I'm just asking for clarification at the very end it talks about [Music] okay here we go under on the bottom of the first page it starts hours of operation and then at what it says is that the library may be open to serve students during evening and Saturday hours but it should be under the supervision of a certificated employee who consents to the assignment and so I - curious about that about about that piece because I mean generally we don't have um library certificated by granting teachers why we have lovely classified employment so what is what does that mean for us so this you're talking about on evenings and Sam yeah and we're going to keep it open like extended hours right so there

056would be typically there would be a certificated staff that would be available after hours during the school day we do have certificated staff available but on the weekend or after school we would not so this policy is indicating you could have someone who has certificated on-site after hours or on a weekend with happy during Saturday's going to work okay well there would definitely be a certificated employee for Saturday school do they use a library in these students to use the library that's absolutely a possibility so right now we have our school libraries open during the school day we have a certificated person in the library no we do not so this would be different than our current practice of during the school day so what's that what's the rationale behind that well I think that

057there when on a weekend or after average there would not be a certificated person on the campus and so we want to make sure that there was someone who was so the first time you know is it required by encode because I see I criticize that is that the requirement of that code it is I just pulled it up and it is and during the school day there is a certificated person available on campus on the Saturday evening what this is this is well would be running library not a classified employee so it's really pretty supervision Oh super yes there is no emergency reasons like this but it is the ED code says for example libraries open to serve students during evening inside of the hour shall be under the supervision of certificated personnel bring

058us to the end of our being
