001Ready? Okay. Session actions took no action board. Our call to order. We will join last minute. All rise. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. You all hear me? Yes. Okay. Item four, consent agenda. Do we have a motion to approve the agenda? My motion to approve. Second. Discussion on any of these items. I just wanted to uh verbally thank Miller's Landing in person of Greg Champion for his donation. Thank you, Greg. Call questions discussion. Okay. Roll call vote. I I I amend this. Item five, monthly items and financial reports. A monthly approval of warrants. Action needed. I move approval of the warrants. I'll second. Any discussion or questions on this?
002You know, I did have one question um that I didn't get to you um in time, so if you're not sure, it's fine. But um I was wondering on the warrants, there was a an assembly called our changing climate assembly. What what did that entail? Anybody? I don't know. What site was that? Remember that was at Oh. Uh it was a very interesting guy. What was his name? He he does Abraham Lincoln when he does history uh assemblies and he does Dr. I want to say Dr. Dementoto and now you know how old I am. Um but he it was great. He um he was totally engaging. All the kids were into it. He talked about the planet. He showed different biomes and what animals live there and it was really cool. Everybody Yeah. Sometimes
003we have um visiting field trips. So part of the field trip budget is mainly the ones where we go out but sometimes and assuma has been really great at that where they bring in different ones um and then more students can participate that way. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. Thank you for asking because I was wondering about that. Any other comments or questions on warrants? Okay. I'm on page two. I I was I saw that there was a special ed materials from MHS. I wondered if that was Mariposa High School or something else. It's probably the It's probably the publisher. Do you Yeah, I'm on page two, but I'm not seeing it. Where does it Which item can you in bold? It's who we paid. Who did we Who is the person we paid? Just a
004second. [Music] So you can move on by while I'm looking for that. Do you know what amount it was? I could try to search by the amount. I just I looked like Maraposa High School. No, I see where it is. It's um at the top, American Express. It's the um third line item, page two. It says special education materials from MHS for $2,346.16. Um, no, that's some assessment. No, that's some assessment materials. Um, um, but I can't tell you what MHS stands for, but off the top of my head. Okay. But it's that code, budget code is assessment materials. So, anytime students are assessed uh for psychological services or IEPs, we buy these assessments usually from MHS Pearson, I think it is. So, that's just a company. Well, that makes sense because Pearson does I
005think almost all of our That was last. No. No. Yeah, we we've done some purchases from other districts, but not in Maya. Okay. Anything else? Any other questions? No. Okay. Roll call vote. I I I Ian. Item B is the 24 2024 2025 budget revisions. Do you need action on this? Uh is there a motion to approve? I'll move approval. I'll second. Got it. we're all fighting over. So, if you recall, every year as part of making the budget for the next fiscal year, we have to um do some clean up on the current year budget and then that has to be approved because I've made changes since the second interim. Um and the second interim is the last time you approved a budget revision. So, you can see there I just made in the
006screenshot that's attached uh I just made a simple table. Um and the biggest change there in the um revenue was um we got some additional medical revenue and we also uh if you remember from other meetings the statements from the PARS trust where we have our OPED retiree uh trust earnings. We did our first withdrawal from there to come back into our fund to offset the costs for the retirey benefits. So we've never done that all the years now that the trust was fully funded and we have extra in there. every year we can take money back to kind of help our ending balance which was much needed. And then as far as the changes in expenses, certificated salaries, this would be since second interim. So that's since December 31st. We had a a psychologist
007that started in January. Um and then there was um an aid for a head start student. A few other minimal changes, but um that really helped us to have a stronger ending balance. you can see in the purple line at the bottom. If we were building our budget with a lower ending balance, it would be harder to meet our reserve. So, that's why we do the budget cleanup um to be able to have a stronger balance going forward. They ask a question on books and supplies. I see that uh 2425 there was almost 450,000 spent and this year it's only going to be 30 348,000. Is there a reason for a 96,000? I don't see what you're looking at because on the attachment there, I just have the 2425 budget, the second interim and the
008current. She's not on the hand. She's only on Yeah, I'm just doing the current year budget update, but I'll go over that in my presentation. So you need action on that, right? Yes. Yep. Call I I I Iem six, hearing of persons wishing to address the board. I don't have any slips given to me. Is there anyone offer comments? No. Okay. So, we'll go over to item seven, action items. Approve the clip here. I move to approve. Well, let me read it. Approve the proposed Madera County School Boards Association 2025 2026 budget. Is there a motion to approve? I move to approve that. I'll second. Okay. Discussion on this item. We do this annually um as part of our um representation being part of the county school board but um committee and they always send
009their budget uh and I think we have a representative from our board that attends the meetings. I know Michelle and I went to one of the meetings as well. So they're just um those are like the dinners when they have the raffles at the different Yeah. At the different districts. So this is just showing their budget. They always have some scholarships and different donations and things that come in and uh annually we are required to approve that because the county wants us to send that back saying it was approved at a board meeting. Roll call vote. I I I I Okay. 7B is approve the workplace violence prevention plan for 2025 2026 school year. Is there a motion to approve? I move approval of the workplace violence prevention plan. I second. Any discussion on this
010item? Just one little cleanup item is just that the names on the committee. Yeah, I got your email. So will the Yeah. So this was created before some of that knowledge was okay there. And so this is kind of one of those other like living documents too, right? Like you create it and then as you move forward throughout the year, you can make adjustments as needed. So that'll be cleaned up. Okay. Yeah. So I had a plan that I should probably a question I should probably already know the answer to. So um who keeps this uh these documents and and where is it digital or is it paper in a secret lock vault somewhere? No, we have to h have this approved annually and we have it on our website or people could ask to
011come see a paper copy if they liked. Um but we're just required by law to have the plan uh approved at a board meeting posted online and then also we have could have a printed copy of meeting and the auditors ask for it. Yeah. They say what meeting was we have checks and balances on it. Yeah. Yeah. The auditors say when was it approved? What can we see a copy of the minutes from the meeting? Yeah. And sometimes they ask for the actual copy of the plan depending on Yeah. I wondered if it was just all digitally encrypted and on a little flash drive in the school safe or something, you know, they're on our website. How's that work? Yeah. Yeah. And they're in like our shared drives, right? And anybody could ask for a
012copy or ask to view it. Yeah. Access is probably greater now that you don't have to have the binders the old school way. I I do have a question. um like how often is this updated annually? Have were there any changes other than committee members from last year? Um there the biggest change was we um created the um workplace violence reporting. Um before it was just like a piece of paper part of part of the plan and nobody kind of really knew where to access that. So, um Stephan helped me um create a digital form and that's on the BLSD resource tab like on all staff members computers so they can access that at any time and um do a workplace violence report. Is that like does it mimic that log before and then it
013comes to you? Right. And then it comes to me and then I have to like um I have to like resolve it, right? So I have to type in like what action was taken and then um that's all kept you know that's all digital and we can access reports on that at any time. And then one more question um is this part of like back to school training or how does our staff know about this right it hasn't been in the past and so um they know about it now because it came up in um some of the BLTA meetings um there was concerns around this and so it was shared with them. Um, I went to staff meetings and shared it with them. But I like the idea of making sure that we let
014folks know. Um, and they know for sure at the beginning of the school year, maybe even periodically with like a message out like, "Hey, remember Yeah. because you know sometimes you get staff members in the middle new staff members in the middle of a school year." So, thank you. Yeah, that was all I had. So, so we've had some practice with some of the things that have happened in a few months. I mean, there must be a little some documents on some of that or was that just, you know, are you talking about like when we have a lockdown in the lockdowns we've had a lockown? Yeah, I mean that's all that's all through catapult. So, that is documented and there's records of that. I know the principles do a really good job after there
015is an event, they reach out to their staff and kind of talk about like what went well, what are some areas of growth or concern that we need to pay attention to in the future. So that that is done. There's there's reflection on on how things went. Anyone else have any any other questions or comments? Okay. Roll call vote, please. I I Ian. Item 7 C, approve the injury and illness prevention plan. Do we have a motion to approve coming up? I'll make a motion we approve the second. Okay, let me see if I can read. Oh, that's discussion. It's coming up. like I had to download it and then I try to read. It's still readable. Yours is. Let's see. I have it here. I'll just make the PDF again and download it. Mine's
016not doing anything. It probably did download and then you got to click on it. Yeah, it wouldn't. You mean when I read it the first time? It's probably in your download. How do I get to download? Stop it. Oh, here. False alarm. I'm gonna upload it again now. You guys have any You might have to questions while she's doing that. Did when you guys reviewed it, do you have any questions? No. Okay. All good. All good. Okay. Roll call vote then. I I I I 7D. Approve the comprehensive school safety plan for 2024 2025 school year. We have a motion to approve. I'll move to approve. I'll second. Okay. Discussion on this. I have a question and I'm so sorry I didn't um send an email prior but um I was just when I was
017looking at the the information it was talking about like like there's no numbers from 2122 all the way to 2025 for bullying harassment and or all of these things are like caused attempted threatened threatened physical and we've had some threats right so I was wondering why that wasn't in Did it not get transferred? Oh, okay. I did. So, on page five, I Okay, so I updated the suspensions, but I haven't updated like um deciphering them out by offense. So, that still needs to be done. Okay. Yeah. which will not take a long time because we have um Aries analytics that can bring that up. And in fact, too bad you didn't have that paper that I just filled out for the grant. Yeah, I could put that because we are doing a grant and we
018just had to do something similar to that. So I Yeah, so we have the data. It just Yeah, I need to I need to update that section. And then um also another section I think it was towards the end um I need to upload they want the maps the evacuation maps um on here in that like in the appendix and I haven't done that. We have them I just haven't added it to this and those are not made public. Right. Correct. Well this is though. So we should have a good point. We should have a conversation about that. Yeah. So, we might want to purposefully leave those out actually. Good point. Mhm. So, we have them. Yeah. I mean, I I think once it's like submitted to whoever, it would be reasonable to include the
019maps, but it doesn't need to be publicly displayed for all to see. Yeah. I mean, it the way there's checks and balances on this is like the audit, right? So we could have it like attached to like the paper copy in the office. So if they asked to see that, they would be there, but it wouldn't be part of this document that's on our website. I think that's a good idea. I agree. Thank you for bringing it. So, do we um want to wait and see those updated numbers on the like page six and stuff and do we want to revisit or just because it's a breakdown of the total that's already above we're satisfied? Yeah, I'm satisfied. I just I didn't realize that they that those two went hand in Yeah. that it was
020part of Yeah, because that was my question too. We could break it down. Yeah. I just I I didn't get to it in time. So, I have the numbers that'll Yeah. Would we be satisfied with an email? I think it would be great if you could just email us. Of course. I can just email you the updated version. Perfect. What's going to be sent to the Yeah. And then there will be updated dates on um you know, I'll get law enforcement to sign off on it. And then like there's a on that first page where you have to have signatures. So when I get all that done, I can upload that in the um the final copy and send it to you. Thank you. How soon do the trainings take place? For example, uh item
021A is child abuse reporting procedures and understanding what that entails. Is that something that happens early on? That happens at the beginning of the year and then if we get a new hire, they have they're given all of the they're all online. So they're given through public school work. It's pitched out to everybody. There's like 20 treaties everybody has to do from chemical safety to child abuse to sexual harassment mandated reporting. It's annual. It's the beginning of one of the our insurance company has a platform that pushes that all out for liability reasons as board members. I believe that you pushed that out to us because that was mandatory training for us at the beginning of the year. So it's through the same Yeah. You guys had um ethics ethics. Yeah. So remember we did
022our ethics training through public public works public school works public school works. She can go on and select who needs what training and then they log in and that training is required to be done by a certain date. They get have like a deadline. Everybody gets a big but we got it too and I remember asking because I was like and you said we didn't have to do all those trainings. We just had to do the ethics one. Right. You should have only had to do the ones that come up in your portal that say that you click on to do. So that's different for something else though. Yeah. Mhm. Okay. Thank you. You're welcome. Have any other questions or comments? Okay. Roll call vote, please. I I I unanimous. Item 17, approve the 2025
0232026 contract for the My Club School program. Is there a motion to approve? I move approval. I second. I think Denise won. Any discussion on this? I do want the board to know that I have been um looking at a lot of numbers, right? um doing the LCAP and um I've done all I've almost completed the percentage of students who participate in our after school programs. I did the percentage for I got I I got a list from my club of all Bass Lake students that are registered for my club, right? It's 200 and something. And then I need to add in students who attend Eagle Academy, which is 30, high 30s. um to to rerun that percentage. And so I I just want you guys to know like I'm paying attention to that. When
024I ran it for my club students, the percentage was around it was in the 20s. And so just so you know, like we pay attention to that and Tara and I will have conversations to costbenefit analysis, right? Percentage of students that are benefiting from a program compared to the cost of the program. And so and then you know maybe having conversations with um program directors to see if we need as much staffing or if the contract needs to be looked at and revised to meet the needs of of the students that we have participating. So because currently we're only affording this because we had carryover for ELOP funding from previous years. So at some point that'll catch up and the funding allocation that we receive won't be enough to cover the cost of the program
025and some other districts are facing that and having to make hard decisions. So they'll have to either like trim it down, maybe have one site again or you know we'll have to look we're monitoring that because we know we can't sustain it. We had a lot of funding rolling over year to year and now it's going to kind of even out, right? So, you know, do we need to do a waiting list or like do we need to cap it and then make sure that we only have, you know, so many staff members ratios with the staffing and adults to students and so they have to have a certain amount depending on how many kids are there. So, you know, we're like she said, we're good now, but I want you guys to know that
026we are paying attention to that. Yeah, it's expensive. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's very expensive. On page two under the heading, what services will the contractor provide? Both the second and third paragraph, one is morning programming, the other one is summer learning program. Both say that the contractor shall work collaboratively with the district on operational management and evaluation. So at last board meeting there was u public comment uh concerning what kind of uh oversight do we have with them? I was under the understanding that we don't. their separate entity. So, right, well, we have we can have conversations about kind of like what I was just talking about, right? Like, man, how many how many sites are we going to have open? How how many staff how many students are we going to allow to participate
027in the program? Are we going to continue to do the summer program? Those types of and as well, the auditors review this program. So, the auditors ask for time sheets of the employees. The auditors ask for the daily calendar to make sure there's instructional activities that are required by this group. So they can't just do like playtime. They have to actually have like STEM, they have to have art, they have to have homework help. Like there's a required structure and every year the auditors are looking at that as well. So that my club does provide us those records. when the auditor comes, usually the auditor will pick a certain month and then they'll ask for all the records, all the students uh login for that month, uh the staff, the payroll, the programming, all of
028it. So, they do do a pretty deep dive on reviewing that um because it's state funding and they're required to audit it. I felt better last year just seeing that because I hadn't seen any of the records in terms of the payroll and um how much oh those there is really that many staff that work there and oh they do have a pretty good schedule especially in the summer in terms of all the enrichment it's supposed to be enrichment so it was nice that that was the first year that it was audited not that any doubts or questions but I mean I liked learning a little bit more about what the program was offering and my daughter worked there as well so I kind of got inside information from that about all the fun things
029that they did for the students. Any other questions or comments? We'll call vote to approve. I I I I information items. Item A is a public hearing to review the LCAP which is a local control accountability plan for 2025 2026 and we are going to open the public hearing for this. This is okay. So um clearly this is a very large document. So, um I think what I what I've done in the past is just kind of gone over the overarching big ideas of this which are our goals and our actions. And then um if anybody in the audience has questions or comments and then the board we can we can start there and then if we want to dive into any other parts of it we certainly can. So our uh we have three
030LCAP goals which have been consistent for many years across the district uh or for the district. So goal one is each and every student will receive high quality instruction and learning opportunities that will prepare them for high school and their postsecary pursuits. For example, college, trade school, military and or the workplace provided by highly qualified professionals in clean, caring, safe and secure environments. So, I will go through the actions, the title of the actions um that the district has in the LCAP to meet um that goal. If you have any questions specifically, I'll I'll read it off and then if you have questions specifically, obviously the description is there. Um you've been able to to review this. Um so, the first action is professional development. Any questions about that? Okay. Um, action 1.2 response to
031intervention curriculum. 1.3 educational technology department and technology teacher support specialist which is the TSS which was the part-time TSS position. 1.4 Clean, caring, safe and secure learning environments. 1.5 healthy students and staff. 1.6 Highly Qualified staff. 1.7 students with disabilities math and ELA achievement district and Oak Creek Intermediate. This is a required action um through the differentiated assistance program. And so um they like to make us um call certain people out which um is just basically based on um results and and that um process of differentiated assistance and when you're in differentiated assistance then you have these required actions that you have to put into the LCAP 1.8 supports for English learners 1.9 another required action Hispanic students math and ELA achievement Oak Creek Intermediate 1.10 10 support for long-term English learners, also known as
032ELELS. Questions about goal one and their actions? Comments? Okay. Goal two. Each and every student will receive access to high quality intervention and support programs, services, and enrichment activities with an emphasis on individualizing academic and social, emotional, behavioral, health, and safety challenges. and responsibilities and physically, emotionally, and cognitively safe learning environments. Just so you guys know, as I'm reading these off, I should have said this the first time around. I'm currently on page 45. Sorry about that. You're on 45. Y I'm on Yeah, I'm on 38 on the on the computer. on the actual document. Oh, it ours says 38 of 118 on the bottom. The My printed version says page 45 of 117. Yeah, it's cool. That's fun. Okay, but we got you. I finally counted. Okay, we're good. We're still following. Yay. Actions.
033It says really big at the top. 2.1 Behavioral and Social Emotional Health and Safety Program. Now we're off. Now I lost it. 2.1 says chronic absenteeism document. Go to page 46 on the PDF. That's that's where you got behavioral, social, malfunctional health. Oh, I see it there. 46. Yeah. Go to page 46. Okay. Got it. The one above that's all the metrics. Oh, action. Action. Action. Got it. Oh, gotcha. All right. Thanks, Terra. I love the LCAP so much. We memorized it. 2.2 Response to Intervention. 2.3 Extended Learning Opportunities, After School Programs, Eagle Academy, and Bliss. Bliss is our independent study program. This is a typo and I have reached out to DTS because when you try to get rid of one of them, it really messes things up and it makes my heart palpitate
034because I don't want things to be lost. So, I have an email on into them on how to get rid of one without messing up the whole rest of the document. Wait, which one does it typo? Well, two point because it's action 2.4 and action 2.5 are the same exact thing. Oh. Oh, I see it. You see how theyated that? But it had zero on there for the cost. So, yeah. When you try to Well, the first one doesn't have zero, but the second one, but what? Yeah. I just want to clean it up. Uhhuh. I want them to do it and make sure that nothing else gets shifted weirdly. So, um this is our English language development program. And then the next one is California cadet core leadership program. And then 2.7 healthy meals
035and snacks. 2.8 transportation. 2.9 comprehensive school safety program. Just yell at me if you want to say anything. Um I want to say something. Go for it. Go for it. But it's not really LCAP, but it's healthy meals and snacks. Are we giving kids um free meals over the summer? Um not free. Well, we're Go ahead. Well, this high school always offers it. Yes. Um and then we have the students who are here at extended school year that are getting it. So, um anybody in the community can go to Okay. I just wasn't sure like Yeah, because our staff doesn't work during the summer. Thank you. But our extended our kiddos that are here are gained. Yes. Okay, cool. Um the ELOP funds in here that's helping provide the healthy meals and snacks. Is that
036going to go away after next year or um that cost was covered in a different section. So that's why it has zero. Yeah. Oh, sorry. Oh, what was the answer? Um I said the cost is covered under the my club section. So this section has zero, but we do get uh healthy snacks that are provided for after school. We're just saying that we provide that within that program. Yeah. So, I have a question on 2.9. Okay. The 34,000. Um, if it's not the software, what is um where's that money being spent? My uh calculation spreadsheet. I don't recall. It might have been for the trainings. Knowledge saves lives. The knowledge saves lives training. Is it 2.9? 2.9. Yeah. I have a spreadsheet where the numbers come from. So, just stand by. I didn't have that
037open. Standing. Standing. Oh, yeah. It's a fake threat student training and then the active shooter training that that we're doing this next year. Okay, because we don't have in the LCAP, we don't have obviously we spend way more money than that on this, but we don't have to um account for all of the monies in here unless it's a contributing action which has to do with um our like unduplicated pupils, right? Yeah. Yeah. And some things are cross related. You know, we might talk about something in another area where we're talking about software, so we don't want to double count it. Yeah. a lot to hype up. It's fun. I bet you should see my spreadsheet. Okay. Uh physical health and fitness program and extracurricular activities, foster youth and homeless student activities. 212 attendance. 213
038Chronic Absenteeism, which is a required action due to differentiated assistance. 2.14 suspension rate. Another required action districtwide and Oakrist Elementary. 2.15 suspension rate. Districtwide Oak Creek Intermediate. I'm not quite sure why it also says elementary on there. Let me look at that. No. Tim, you're not giving second graders. Oh, yeah. Any questions? That's uh we've just made it through goal two. Okay. Goal three. Each and every educational partner will receive opportunities to engage in the learning process by promoting opportunities that strengthen skills, competencies, and abilities of students, parents, staff, and the community. So, page 57 is the actions. Thank you, Tara. Sorry. Could we go back? I was trying to find the page to reference before you moved forward. Um, concerning chronic absenteeism. What page are you on? What we just were on. Yeah. And
039then she moved forward. I didn't have a chance to find the page, which was 12. I was trying to find chronic absenteeism is likely going to be on I think I'm It's either 48 or 50. I can't remember. 50. 50. 50. 50. But I had a question that on page 12 it talks about a committee um let's see that meets four times over the course the committee looks at attendance data sparks questions why students might be missing school um committee took a deeper dive into the data they developed a plan to implement an effort to increase attendance and this was what I wanted to ask if this was going to be implemented this year the plan consisted of sending out a flyer that messages the importance of school uh ADA funding and how much instruction
040is missed when students miss 10 or more days of school along with the statistics of literacy rates, dropout rates, and graduation rates related to chronic absenteeism absenteeism. So, I wanted to know if that committee is still going to be doing that. That committee is no longer meeting, but that committee met and agreed that that's something we want to do and that is part of the action that we will be implementing in the upcoming school year. And I, as director, I had already made a couple flyers, but I talked here with Michelle about sending them out. This was uh like a week ago, and it didn't make sense to do it at the end of the school year. But we have some flyers prepared with that data that we can start pushing out at the beginning
041of the school year, right? And then throughout the school year as friendly reminders. Yes. And maybe posters posted school into a banner. A big like roller skates on the corner. Yes. The flipping sign. The flipping sign guy. The whipping guy on the corner. All right. Good. Moving on to 3.1. Health and Wellness Committee. 3.2 District Safety Committee. 3.3 Educational Partners Survey. 3.4 School Site Councils and Parent Advisory Groups. 3.5 Parent Teacher Associations andor Councils PTA or PTC. 3.6 Schoolto Communications Program Educational Partner Meetings and Special Events. And the rest of the document has a whole bunch of analysis on how we did last year, what we're changing, um increased and improved services, how that ties to budget, um what we actually spent on things as oppo what we budgeted as opposed to what we actually
042spent. Um there are a few sections on there that still have some actions that need to be uploaded onto onto those into those areas that will be um there before we adopt next week. So that revised um addition will be sent out and posted and folks can access this on the website. They can come to the district office to have conversations about it. they can email. Basically, between now and when we adopt, people have the right to reach out and ask questions and have conversations regarding the LCAP. [Music] Do you want to check with the audience? See if they have any because we're still in the hearing, right? Anyone have any questions in the audience? Okay. So, we'll close the hearing on the LCAP. Next item. Oh, we also have a public hearing for the
0432025 2026 budget. So, on there you'll see I'm just going to walk you through what's attached, but I'm not going to go through all that because I'm going to go right into my presentation. Um, before I start that though, I have the narrative, which always is on there. like a summary, uh, cliffnotes, um, and then there's form 01 and my so that's fund one, which is our main general fund, and then multi-year projection. On that attachment, you'll look and you'll see I highlighted some different things, but I'm going to point them out in my presentation, things like the fund balance, expenses, adjustments that had to be made to meet the reserve. And then we have both the cash flows, um, the current year as well as the next year. That's another thing I'm going to
044go over in my presentation, the full budget. So, that's all uh the forms and funds and data. And then um the presentation, which is what I'm going to go into now. I got to get it going. Do that correctly. Does it look like it's working, Stephan? Okay. So this is the 2526 budget and I would just ask that you hold any questions you have till the end um because I have my script memorized so that helps me to stay on track and I know you know like little chitter chatter here and there but you guys are pretty well behaved. So the first slide is the 2425 current budget. So when earlier we approved um the budget revisions, that's that first column there. And then just comparing to looking at next year's budget, trying to see
045what's different. Um the main thing that stands out there is um there's 130,000 less revenue as well as our beginning balance being $910,000 less. To remind you why that's happening, because we're def deficit spending every year and it just continues to compound. So each year we're spending more than we're receiving in revenue. So the that eats away at our fund balance. And then it is good news to see some changes in the uh expenses and that was one of your questions Diane about the books and supplies being less but we had to cut some budgets and things to be able to meet our reserve having less money to start the year off with. Um so there's just um changes there in certificated classified salaries and benefits. That's some positions that we have with one-time funds
046that have ended. Um and then also again reducing some books and supplies and other operating expenditures. Capital outlay, we've been lucky. That's where you do any kind of facilities or construction. And we've had, you know, CO funds. So in previous years, you probably saw some bigger numbers there. But now we're trying to get back to more normal levels since we don't have all that additional funding. Um, and even um, with having less expenses, it's still Oh, it skipped ahead. Sorry, I think I tapped it by accident. Even with having less expenses, um, we still are eating away at our our balance because our ending balance is only 1,555,247. So, I don't know if you recall in the past the restricted ending balance. I'm going to go into it in further detail on a later slide,
047but it was always a bigger number because we had COVID funds in there. Um, extended learning, a lot a lot of other things. Well, that's chipping down and that number is getting smaller. Um, but here you can see we do meet our required reserve um which is 595,000. If you say, "Hey, that's a lower number." Well, it's 4% of your expenses. So, as our expense budgets go down, we have less of a required reserve. So that leaves us with a bigger unrestricted ending balance uh which is $77,680 which was no easy feat in terms of trying to trim things and get that. People are going to be real excited thinking oh that's means we can get raises but when this budget was made I did not know that we had such huge TK numbers that
048we needed to add a TK teacher as well as an aid. So that is not in the budget. So, anything that's extra there is probably going to have to cover the cost of that. Um, even if we have an internal person that's going to be TK, their position um is a vacancy and I didn't have that extra teaching position in the budget. And then for TK, you're required to have an aid because the ratio of adults to children's 10 to1. Um, so thankfully we had an extra um unrestricted ending balance, you know, that extra 112,000, but that's going to be gone to the wayside. um as well as um I get into it on a later slide, but our year is not over yet and currently we're over budget in some other areas um with
049legal fees and uh other items, electricity. So, um that ending balance probably won't extra ending balance won't stay there, but I just wanted to point that out. I'm not trying to rain on everyone's brain. Trying to be realistic. Can't squeeze blood out of a turnup. So, the revenues uh versus expenses. Well, our LCFF is really only going up 111,000. So, they made this big deal. Our COLA was 1% this past year. Next year, it's going to be 3%. You'd think we'd have all this extra money, but we're down in enrollment and we're down in ADA, so it's offset by that. So, we get that much extra out the gate. Some years it's been a lot more. Um, and then you look at our step and column increases for all of our staff and um that's
050over what our extra LCF is. So we we start out the year with the deficit right away. Um and that's not in our benefit. Um but that's due to as you've probably heard on the news with the um state uh revenues and the governor's budget where they have been making a lot of cuts. There's a shortfall. They're taking actually they promised they wouldn't touch money that's in education and then they're taking it from our rainy day fund which is like our backup funding. They've even cut we were supposed to get uh 1.5 billion uh onetime funding for all districts. They cut that to500 million. So, a lot of people were even banking on that for some extra things. Well, they've cut it so much that it's probably going to be like $100 a student, which
051is really not much. So, there needs to be more funding. Everybody knows our costs have gone up. Now, I'm not going to spend a lot of time on these ones because they hurt your eyes. Um, but this is our calculator that we use to build the budget and it's got the highlighted colas there at the top. And then you can see the funded ADA below that. So even um we're we get a three-year average. Each year that we have a lower ADA, it lowers the average. Look at the first column for 2223. Our funded ADA was 834. Okay? And now that your factor that included a year where we had 890 students enrollment and other higher numbers. Now we're at the point where our P2 ADA that I just reported was 732. So, when you're
052putting those lower numbers into the three-year average, you're really facing the reality of the funding being adjusted. Um, and also, uh, currently our enrollment is projected a lot less than what it is currently, which I get to on a later slide. That is not in the calculator here. Um, I just when we're building the budget, I have to just use the current information I have, which was the numbers of enrollment we have right now. So, that will probably trend down. Uh this slide is just to show um in the future they're saying we're going to get it in 2627 we're going to get a 3.02 cola and in 2728 we're going to get a 3.42% cola on our software with the state for this multi-year projection form. It calculates actual the actual increase of the
053LCFF funding and that's due to the lower ADA. So they say, "Oh, next year we're going to get a 3 point, you know, 3% cola." It's actually only 1.61%. Which is highlighted here. And then our 3.42%. It's actually only 2.59%. Um because of that three-year average and the lower number. Um so sometimes people get excited when they hear, "Oh, we're going to have a 3% cola in the future." But it really doesn't equate to 3% when you're funded not at how many students you have enrolled, but you're funded at your average attendance. I wanted to include lots of fun slides. So this slide is some cash flow concerns for 2627. And I did include the cash flow on your attachments. This example is just simply to show if you look at the number on the
054bottom right circled in in the blue there the 100 1.8 8 million. That's our ending balance for next year, right? And then if you look um over to the left on the bottom where it's blue and yellow, those are our monthly expenses. So if that's the only cash we have um we could and we have that much in expenses for July and August, we don't have enough revenue to support our expenses. if they do deferrals, which I highlighted on the top left row in yellow, and they've talked about next year because of the budget, this next year is going to be stable, but then 2627 where there's going to be a shortage in the state that they're going to defer the money. That means they borrow it from the schools. So, if we didn't get
055that money that's just highlighted by itself in yellow there under the revenues, we would not have enough cash on hand. There's never been a year that I've been here in eight years that our ending cash balance is that low. It's usually around 3.7 million. So, it's about half what it normally is. And December is when we receive our property taxes. So, it's pretty scary if you if you flip these numbers and put them to 26 27. It's going to be pretty concerning if we don't um if we don't make some reductions and some changes or they don't increase our funding. And I just want to put that out there because in all my workshops and trainings, they're saying to have to be transparent and be sharing that information about the future um of the district
056of of all the districts in the state with the funding. So when we work on the budget, there's some assumptions. So we use the P2 ADA, which I mentioned was was 732. uh in the three-year average it gives us a little grace because we get 700 we get funded on 755. Uh the enrollment that I counted currently for the next school year is 728 students. So currently we have 803. We have some big bubble groups in 8th grade and that's even with the two addition the additional TK class. So it's a nice problem to have to have additional TK students because in the future you will have more students moving through the grade levels. But overall our district um we are down in enrollment currently. Uh and so that wasn't that wasn't put into the
057budget. Um but I just wanted to highlight there that and peach and then cola um is 2.3 but again as I mentioned to you when you mix that with the lower a um ad ADA you don't get the full percentage. And then stirs stay the same. PERS um decrease just a tiny bit. And then for the step in column that automatically rolls into the budget that anybody um you know year-over-year moves from like step eight to step nine. That was on that first slide where I had the the cost for all staff. So we have to put that into the multi-year projections that was attached. Uh as well as health and welfare went up about we just got our costs from CISK and it's 6% increase uh over the previous year. So um everybody's plans
058goes up a little bit and uh the only way in the multi-year projection that we I I can qualify the budget and say yes we meet our reserve in 26 27 27 28 is if you look at the multi-year projection there's other adjustments that were highlighted but I'm I'm referring back to this. The other adjustments are positions that have to be adjusted down in order to meet the reserve. Some of them are things with one-time funding that we have maybe one more year of funding, things like that. And I'm not trying to scare anybody or be negative, but I'm just saying if we didn't have those adjustments, we wouldn't meet the minimum reserve and then I couldn't sit here and say, can you approve the budget next time because it's qualified that we can meet
059our financial obligations. Um, so that is all in there. Um, the staffing is level. There's some resignations and retirements. Uh we did need an additional teacher and aid for TK which was not in the budget. I mean this literally happened in real time where I'm making the budget the end of May and beginning of June and then they had the roundups and then I found out there were going to be more people. Um TK does have a lot of specific requirements. So it couldn't just be anybody can be in there. We have to have the ratio. They have to have early childhood units or prescale preschool teaching experience. So, there's been a lot of moving parts in this and there's still a lot of things in the budget that I'm not even certain about what's
060going to happen, which kind of makes me a little worried, but it's okay. Let's take some melatonin. So, even though we're deficit spending, we're projected to self-certify as positive. So, that's what we're here having the hearing. We're saying yes, even with these adjustments and this really tight budget, we can meet our financial obligations, but that's not without those reductions. unless they say, "Oh, we were going to give you more COLA or more LCFF funding or maybe a bunch of new students move in." Um, I'm not going to go into detail on this slide, but I always show the COLA for the out years. So, that has all the different COLA rates at the top. And then there's our uh fund balance. So, you can see that's how what we're going to end the year with
061each year going down. Um, and then restricted, as I pointed out, has gone down as those funds have gone away. unrestricted. I just put some asterisks there because I I've already repeated myself several times. Um, but just saying that that fund balance, the extra unrestricted balance is because I didn't have those two positions in the budget. So, I just want to note that and be transparent. Um, and also, as I mentioned earlier, uh, some of our budgets are over for electricity and legal fees. Um, bills haven't been all paid yet. The year is not fiscal year is not over yet. So, um, that's going to chip away at anything extra that's there. And then the other the triple asterisk is, um, what I mentioned in the multi-year projection. So, us having that little bit extra
062is nice. We want to have a little extra cushion, but that's only with making reductions and not adding anything else or doing any other kind of increases. Uh, and this I just made this before I came here, so I was like, oo, I need to do something to show. Um, so look, our legal fees, just look in the last few years, our budget was around 35,000 and this year it's already at 162,000 for legal fees. Um, and then electricity, same thing. That's just a gradual increase. um IEP subs. I just wanted to point this out um because I mean this is of course something we want to be able to support students and do the IEP process, but this is how much more students we've talked about in the past where the state average is
06312% special ed population. Our district's around 25% I think. So just seeing that budget go from 11,000 to 25,000 tells you how many more IEPs are happening where the teachers are um you know having subs to attend those IEP meetings. So that cost has really gone up. And then I wanted to put also the other sub budgets um because we do h have a lot of times where there's um of course every year there's going to be different things like someone might have a planned surgery or someone has a new baby of course but I'm talking about like there's been a lot of staff absences districtwide not in any one job or another but that budget has gone up quite a bit. So I just compared at the bottom there is $154,485 just between last
064year and this year. if you add up the increase in legal fees, electricity, IEP subs, and all other subs. So, um that amount there, if that if we're not receiving 154,000 in extra funding, like how do we pay that? We can't sustain that. Um and then I always have this slide that shows a restricted ending fund balance. It's hard to see. Sorry, that hurts my eyes. But if you zoom in, these are this was where you used to see COVID funds, all that has kind of gone away. The main ones that I highlighted, it's the ELOP funding, uh lottery instructional materials, that's where we do our curriculum adoptions, uh the AMS funding, which is for our two uh music teachers. We have the second one that just got hired on for band. And then the
065learning recovery emergency block grant. If you look over there on the far right, there's nothing left of that at the end of next year. So whatever's been used up there, that that's one of the reductions going forward, of course, in 2627. Anything funded under that. Um and then ELOP I point out again at the top because that's the my club. So extra money that we've had roll over yeartoear could make up if we let's say we only received 500,000 for ELOP. But you saw the my club contract was 660,000. Well, the way we make up the difference on that is we've had carryover that rolls over that helps make up that difference. But eventually that dwindles down. So either the my club contract would have to be less or reviewed or we might have other
066things we have to adjust like we did Catalina and Green Meadows. Maybe there's more um students and families have to put money more more towards it than the district. We don't want to do that. We like being able to send everybody and pay those costs. But that funding is ongoing, but it's it's going to be the minimum going forward. So, this is kind of what I talked about already with the restricted funds. Um, I'm not going to go into a great deal, but we did have art and music one-time block grant that was used for our PBIS PAR educators that ends after next year. ELOPS for my club. Oh, and we are going to be doing a history book adoption in this next school year. I didn't know about that when I made the budget.
067So that lottery fund balance will be less um probably about 150,000 I think for all the curriculum. But that's good because I've told you before when I started here and I was trained they said you leave the restricted lottery funds alone because those are for curriculum and then it rolls over and it compounds yeartoear so that when you do need to do a textbook adoption it's like a savings. There's 400 and something thousand there. So we're able to dip into that when we want to adopt a whole new set of curriculum. So the next steps is the budget adoption which is at the next meeting and uh we will start purchasing in fact our awesome sites and district office staff. Everybody's already been working on um getting purchase orders and quotes and things ready and
068then the governors will sign the budget by June 30th. They uh the governor has to sign it by then. Um, and I've already been working on audit since about April. So, we're doing a lot of that digitally. So, we'll be auditing this past fiscal year, the attendance and the fiscal side. Um, up through October, we'll be working on that. And then there'll probably be revisions obviously now that I said that, yes, there will be revisions to the budget. So, in August, you don't have to bring budget revisions to the board unless there's any changes, but we already are going to have some knowing that we added uh a teaching position and um the TK aid as well as other things that are still up in the air in terms of staffing that we don't really
069know what's happening. Like we have a couple openings. We don't know who was hired. Uh the curriculum. Yeah. So, there'll be some budget revisions. Um a lot of times in the budget when we have a vacancy, I just try to put an average salary. not too low, not too high. But then when hiring happens, it could be the opposite. We could hire someone who's um got a lot of units and they're paid really high or we hire a brand new baby teacher. So um I can't really guess or predict for that. Sometimes it's to a deficit in terms of having an average salary and it coming in 30,000 higher, which is going to be the case with one of the vacancies probably. So, we'll bring that back and um show you where we're at in
070August, hoping that they maybe gives us some more funding or we get some more students. That's it. Thank you very much, Tara. Good job. I have a question. Yes. On the projected cola on our the last right here, the 4% reserve. Um this amount is larger than this. Is that could you help me understand that? Oh, I think that's um Oh, it's because the required reserve is based on your um expenses. It's 4% of your expenses. So, if you look here on the MYP for the expenses for 2728, um let me see find that page. It's page of the my page five of seven. Yeah. So, um in 2627, our expenses are 14,743,288. And in 2728 the expenses are $15,9684. So it's okay. So that went up that I knew that it wasn't making sense
071for and well now I'm trying to look what went up, what increased. It's mainly um you know it it depends on what what category went up. Salaries and collars. Yeah. Okay. And then I had one more question. What on the second to last page restricted fund can fund is continued. Um it says sites have AMS plans. That's multi AMS. Oh, so that's the Prop 28. Um that's our parking. Yeah. And so I added that on there because um as a requirement of the funding, the sites have to have plans and it just says what they're doing in each site, you know. So at at the elementary level, they might have music, at the middle school level, band or theater. That was just an acronym. But it's a public um document and people can ask if
072they want to see what's in your plans for MS. We receive 130,000. It's really not a lot, but because of the carryover, we've got the two teachers. We got a great program lined up for next year. Um, and I'm excited for that. Thank you. To have our band going again. That is all those are all my questions. That's it. Next item 8 C is the academic achievement report. Yeah. So, uh, just a couple things on that. Um, there are some academic achievement numbers in the LCAP, right? When you look at the metrics, so there's some I Ready data and and different things in there that, um, you guys have seen and can look at again. Um, we're still waiting obviously for the CASP scores. Um, those are not published yet. I'm sorry. I think a
073point of order. Wasn't that a public hearing? Oh, sorry. I I don't I think we were in a public hearing for the budget. We need to close that. We need to close that to move on. Thank you. So, we are closing a public hearing for the budget and now we are on 8C academic achievement report. Thank you. Okay. Resume. Yes. Sorry about that. That's okay. So, we're waiting for Cass's results and then um the school board and I met on June 11th for an academic achievement workshop and we went over the 5-year academic plan and that's going really well and there's some really good conversations and ideas and so I will be taking that back to um district leadership and talking about those things and getting ready for for the fall. Any questions or comments
074from the board on that? Not yet. Have a comment. I'm just thankful that we put this together. I think it's we're going in the right direction and so I appreciate the hard work and I'm excited for the future. Yeah, me too. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. 8 C is academic achievement report. Did that. Oh, sorry. Okay. Uh D, enrollment ADA reports. Last month we ended with uh sorry I got my glasses away. Oh, we had 808. Right now we had 805 students. Um and you can see there those big bubble groups I was mentioning in eighth grade. Uh we've got, you know, two eighth grade classes. one of them at O or two of them at OCI being in the 30s and that's where we were having a lot that kids that are leaving on
075one end um but there wasn't much changes sight to sight I mean you know typical fluctuations nothing no change at OCI no change at plus looks like uh a couple less at oes and assuma no assuma is the same so not not much to report there and then the other sheet that's attached is the ADA versus enrollment. So, that just shows you um how many kids were enrolled versus the ADA. That's where you see the discrepancy in terms of the funding. And they're still pushing for being funded at enrollment, but nothing's been passed for that. So, we'll still be funded at the ADA. So, 30 less, you know, one site, 17 less at another, and 21. If you figure you get funded about $12,000 a student, and you do the math there, it's quite substantial
076that you get funded less. So, we got to get those attendance rates back up, but that's why we have it in the LCAP apartments here. We should be getting more. We Yeah, you would think so. Now, they're they actually are paying the developer fees for a second phase. There's a whole second phase being built. So, yeah, I would think that would help. That would be good in the same area. They're building second. Yeah. I don't know where it's going to fit at, but it's exactly the same complex. Good question. Yeah. I can't wait for the traffic. $135,000 in developer fees. Last time it was 50,000 because our rate was less. So now we're bringing in some more revenue which can help with modernization and any updates if we do get an influx of students. They
077were pretty surprised when they went to pay the developer fees because they had done the first round and they were like wait a minute go up. Yeah. Thank you. Item 8F, consideration and adoption of board policy. And let's do interd district transfer reports. Oh, I'm sorry. Okay. Just want to get this over. Okay. It's a long one. District transfer reports. So, we do not currently have any to report on the agenda. However, I do want you guys to be made aware that I have a very large stack on my desk of inner district and intra district for several reasons. Um, one being that we have decided that we want to make sure that we get those um, renewed every year. Um, because that is important, especially with our budget and class sizes and facilities. I
078felt like we really need to have a good grasp on what's going on with that. And then, um, so those are slowly getting approved or denied, so there should be a lot more to report. I don't know if we'll have them ready for next meeting, but certainly in August. And then also a summer project is to um revise those forms a little bit. They're they're needing a little TLC. Um so that's going to be a project for the summer. And um just kind of for transparency and and to make everybody aware um difficult decisions are having to be made especially for um new um like firsttime requests not renewals um for uh students with disabilities. Our programs as we all know are significantly impacted and our classes are very full and so um that's a
079reality and unfortunately sometimes that can impact families who maybe you know already have a student here and then an incoming student that might need um those services. So, um, I'm trying to pay attention to that and take care in that and make sure that we're making the right decisions for the district on all sorts of levels. And so, um, the the secretaries and the principles have been getting a lot of phone calls and emails and Lana parents a little nervous, right? Like, what's going on? You've been really popular. I've been getting a lot. Um, but I I want to make sure that that is done, like I said, with care and and making sure that we're looking at all aspects of of what's going on in the district. So, well, and you were saying some
080districts it can take months for parents to hear about that. And in our district, it's always been like a coupled business day, so people are really used to having the quick response, but you see the stack of them that she has, it's kind of crazy. Yeah. So, any questions about that? All right. Item 8, consideration and adoption of board policy and administrative regulations, board bylaws, and exhibit revisions. Anybody have any questions, please? I just have a question. It's just like a clerical. Uh, it says consideration and adoption of board policy and administrative regulation board, but then it under the recommendation says the first reading and discussion items only, no action taken at this time. Is that just It should just be a first reading, correct? Yeah. Okay. All right. First, I was just double last,
081but we didn't get to read it. So, this is our first reading. So, it should be first reading and then next time it'll be a consideration and adoption. Is that correct? Okay. Thank you. Correct. Have any questions or comments on these? Okay. Item nine, accomplishments and other reasons to celebrate from throughout the district. We have Oakris Elementary School. Oh, all three. Oakris Elementary, Oak Creek Intermediate, and Wasuma. Are you guys all three tonight? Okay. All right. We decided to do that. Um remember they used to all present at every meeting and then that kind of became a lot. So then we um scaffold them, right? And then um the way like that number-wise that panned out like how many times they each were presenting it kind of left this last month like okay, who's going
082to draw the straw to have like more presentations? And so I thought, oh, maybe they can each shorten it a little bit and then we can just hear from all of them since it's like culmination of the end of the year. Nice. Yeah. You want to take this right here? Well, Stephen can't hear very well. Do you want my mic? Um, I'm happy to just He can't hear very well unless you have a mic. You bet. I will I will happily use a mic. I would love that. No, he said you have a strong voice. It's up to you. I Okay, I will talk loudly and if you can't hear me, you just raise your hand and I'll get the mic. Um, okay. So, um, OES, uh, in June we had some wonderful things happening.
083Uh, I talked about I don't know I think it was my April presentation. We had the BMX um go big air. Thanks. Thanks buddy. Appreciate it. We had the BMX anti-bullying assembly and oh my gosh the kids it was like the best day ever. I mean you know literally they were like it's the best day ever. And so, um, I put the little anti-bullying pledge at the bottom and it was great. They had these pro bike riders out there and, um, just tying in about being drug-free and being kind and, um, and then they were out there getting big air and jumping over me and the teachers and some aids. So, that's the middle picture there where we were all laying down. It was fantastic. Yeah, it was a hit. So, we had that going
084on. Second grade took a fantastic trip to the Happy Goat Farm in Mariposa. Um I It was the first time I went along. It was the first time I had ever been there. Was amazing. Um the kids got to all feed the they had piglets and so the kids all got to feed the piglets. Like I mean you're talking what like 60 kids feeding. Maybe not quite 60. Maybe there's more like 50 kids feeding piglets. Like those had to be some really happy piglets. Um it was amazing. They did um they also so they like split us into two groups. And so one group we were checking out all the the animals and stuff there and then the other group was doing stations. And so the stations they focused on more of the farming like
085worm farming, composting, gardening. Um, so it was great, fantastic day and a beautiful farm. So, um, I encourage you to all go and check it out. They have a great little restaurant in Mariposa that's actually happy goat farm to table. So, uh, first grade did the Fresno Chaffy Zoo. So, that was a blast. Everybody had fun. They made their annual tie-dye t-shirts and and wore them. So, that everybody had a fantastic time there. Um we had spirit night and so this year we added a dump tank and so um yeah two hours of dunking for principal. It was it was it was fantastic but holy mackerel I was so water logged by the end but it was worth it. It was awesome. And we added in the battle. It was hot. It was like the
086hottest night of the year. What was it? June 2nd I want to say. It was a great turnout though. It was it was a really good turnout. It was it was great. It was hot and but it was still it was still fantastic. We incorporated a lot of water activities into it. So, it was great. Um the last week of school, there was all kinds of fun happening. Our PB we had our PBIS rewards experiences for K2. We did um inflatables and so all the classes got to come and and jump with three different inflatables and they got to bounce for 30 minutes. And um we had water day. We had all several classes use shaving cream to clean their desks because they get to play in it and it really cleans things up. So
087we had that there. Oh, and of course I So Christy Newell and Erica Rogue Show, they went after school was over and had their friend in the bounce house, so I had to include that. Um Chuck on water day, Chuck Kramer had a great time squirting some kids down. So it was great last week. Was super fun. Um we had completion ceremonies. I was busy shaking hands with kindergarteners and TK students and so I did not get any pictures but it was fantastic darling the kids sing songs and then on the other end we had all here's our the picture of our fifth grade class saying goodbye. So it was super fun. Fifth grade teachers gave all of the students like their moment and did a standing ovation and it was really cool. So the
088whole audience stood up and everybody got some kind of award. So it was a fantastic way for them to culminate their OES experience and um that is what we had here at OES and June. Well, at least you know some of the things. Thank you. Y good now. Okay. All right. So, um my notes here. Wildcats got outside a lot when the springtime hit. It was awesome. Uh we have some second graders heading to the Awani Hills Park in preparation. Peterson is so funny. She recognized that um they were going to the Mariposa Grove and that her kids were not hikers and so they did practice trips to the Awani Hills Park and it sounded like it was the right idea because um you'll see later what happened when they went to Euseite. Um we
089uh of course we have our huge Earth Day festival. Uh Doug the Beekeeper is always a huge hit. We had so many things going on in April and May. We did a chalk walk this year. Normally we have a trashing show, but um if you know Mrs. Peterson, you know she can't do the same thing twice ever. So we had to do a chalk walk. Um Miss Ripka came out and kicked it off by making a huge chalk mural and talking about art and design and perspective and all of the things. And then kids signed up for a section of the sidewalk out in front of the dome and and created their art and it was incredible what they managed to to do. Um she wasn't necessarily happy with the way the turnout that night
090for the evening event, but it kind of worked out because just as it was wrapping up at 6:00, we watched the thunder and lightning roll in from down the mountain. And so we got some pictures really fast before the rain started. worked out really well. Uh, as always, our community is amazing and totally turns out for our kids. So, our sponsors for our Earth Day festivities are listed there. Madco is always huge. Feral Gas is great. Southgate always comes and does a tasting station. This year they have fresh fruits and veggies for the kids. Last year they had a veggie soup that we had to bribe some of them to try. Uh, but they did and they liked it. Was that where they had the flowers on the pizza too? Like edible flowers? Yes. Yes.
091Um Casey and and his crew do a great job uh really pushing the kids a little bit outside their comfort zone is obviously the goal. Um the CRCD uh does a great job with pollinators and teaching the kids about good pollinators and how to keep them happy and keep them around. Um let's see what else. Oh yeah, here are some pictures. We had some board members come out and volunteer always in the garden area. Um this upper right picture here, the kids were packing an emergency fire bag, right? It's part of our lives, unfortunately. So, in an effort to keep it from being traumatizing and more empowering for them, they had x number of minutes to pack a bag uh if they had to go. And it was it was amazing to see kids, same
092grade level, how methodical one would be. and just how bam bam I'm taking, you know, everything would go in their bags. Um, but they all we were a little worried on how they would handle that, but they all handle it like troopers and it really made them start thinking about it. So, it's what we want. Um, and of course, we had a happy goat came and they brought some of their critters, so the kids got to pet bunnies and um lots of honking of big red horns. Um, we always try to warn the neighbors but they're very accommodating and so yeah, you see some of the kids eating their pizza with the flowers on it. Micro greens came out and it was really cool, too. So, uh, our fifth graders went for the first time
093to Rail Town in James Town. Um, it was super cool. a lot of people dressed in in period costumes teaching about the history of the area, the importance of the railroad to the the um to our area being built and to um gold rush and everything. Kids had some great uh demonstrations on on things. It was it was really a good trip. Uh Mrs. Mack put on her annual field day um which is I don't know how she does it, but she did. And it was one of the hottest days in the lower left hand or lower right hand corner. They're they're not playing duck duck goose. They're playing um drip drip pour. And so you have a cup of water and you drip drip and then your goose you dump the whole cup of
094water. So drip drip pour. Um it was great. Um little tugof-war. Some of the big kids got in on that. Uh our middle school kids volunteer to help all day long. and it is all day long. Uh it was a gorgeous day. We um a few years ago the guys built for me a reverse dump tank there. That's what you see on the right because CRM would not approve an actual dump tank. So we found plans and we built one and uh no matter how bad of an aim the person has that is throwing the bean bags, Mrs. Springer always makes sure that somebody gets she helped out. Yes. That's her favorite thing is the tank. So super fun. Uh, our boys volleyball team went undefeated for the entire season and they won at the
095tournament. You can see our happy little eighth graders there on the right. Um, coaches, Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Mack, always do a fabulous job. The majority of that team are seventh graders, too. So, it'll be interested to see how they do next year. Girls flag football. Oh my gosh, it was so incredibly hot out there. I don't know how they managed, but I think they came in four. Uh, an annual tradition that we have for our garden is the eighth graders, the last week of school, they paint papers that get placed down in the garden. And so this is some of our eighth graders leaving their little legacy gift behind. Um, one thing I don't have pictures of is our district's fourth graders, OES's fourth graders practiced with Mrs. dent for the last several months
096uh practice playing the recorders so that they could all go down and join with their peers from the central valley to play with present philarmonic and uh they loved it. Oh my gosh, they were so attentive. Did you get to go? Yeah, it was incredible. I Yeah, I saw some of video and it was amazing. The kids were so into it. It was really cool. Um these were uh the second and third graders at Mariposa Grove. You can see uh it was not an extended day trip, but those two wiped out pretty hard. It is not that long of a ride home, but they were done. They were absolutely done. Um the little guy there in the upper leftand corner was so amazed. He had never seen a tree so big. He could not get
097over the um the little tracks under the bark that the Beatles make. He thought that the rangers had gone through and drawn things out and he just he was mesmerized. He this trip this trip changed his life 100%. I uh it it's just it's amazing. It's so close and yet so few of our kids get to experience it. We really need to do a better job of getting them up there. Um but yeah, it was amazing. Um, okay. So, this is you, you know, we all adopted youth life for primary this year. Um, and I want to show you some data. This is just for our RTI students. So, this is first, uh, first and second grade on the screen here. So, uh, if you look at the class summary, we this this data comes
098it's a it's an aggregate from reading fluency, decoding, accuracy, comprehension, letter sounds, all of those things. And if you look for first grade there, the beginning of the year, we had 10 students who were well below benchmark. And if you go all the way across there, the red, by the end of the year, we only had two. And you can see how they moved down the row. And we had more kids who were hitting yellow and then moving to green and to blue, which is great. These were just for first grade RI students. If you look at second grade over there on the right, um you've got kids who were moving across moving them obviously moving around. Okay. Um third grade here, um third grade was more impressive. Um, moving across, you've got one student
099who went to above benchmark, two by the end of the year who were at benchmark and then everybody made growth. One of the lunchons that's in here, um, she went I want to make sure I get this. When she started with us as a kindergartener, she did not speak any English. She spent most of her day sitting on her teacher's lap crying because she didn't want to be at school. and she would get mad at me because I would go talk to her in Spanish and explain her like, "No, you're going to be in school and this is what you're going to do." Um, she went, where was she? She went from she's one of the reds in the 58%, those seven students, and then she was one of the two in the green at
100benchmark. She is the hardest worker. Oh my gosh, she's she's amazing. She begs for homework. Wacko. Um, so celebrations. Uh, I was also on stage for things, so I don't have pictures of kindergarten graduation or eighth grade promotion necessarily. Uh, but here are just some celebrations that we had. Mr. Messenger had his masters. Um, in the middle there are four of our eighth graders who are graduating. Oops, cut off jacks there. Half of a fifth eighth grader right there. Um, that was our those were our inaugural choir club students and this was their last performance. Um the little guy down there in the middle, okay, fifth grader, when he started the year, his reading accuracy was 84%. And his star reading level was 2.9. Right there, he's getting an award. He makes all of us
101cry. Right there, he's getting an award because his accuracy went to 100%. And his star went from a 2.9 to a seven. Mr. Panita is a superstar. Love him so much. Um, and our little guy over there on the far right came from cat. Love him so much. Um, he has made such amazing progress. And it was funny cuz the last day at school he was looking around everybody and he said to his teacher, "Huh, you're right. I guess I don't need to feel great about my big emotions. Grown-ups have them, too. All right, see you later." and he walked out the door. It was hilarious. It was epic. Um, pictures from the choir and dance competition. I included Summer and Caitlyn in there because every time you see kids on stage doing something, you've
102got the adult in the background doing all of the moves and everything with them, which just is fun. Uh, and then congratulations to the teacher formerly known as Miss Ecklund. After she got married a few weeks ago, her first graders had some advice to share with her. The seven-year-old pretty much nailed it, right? Um, take turns taking your kids, read books about husband and wife stuff, draw pictures together. That's so cute. Yes, exactly. Go to the beach. So, it was uh it was a a lot of insight. I'm taking notes. So, her name comes in for a second. Oh, yeah. Okay. My daughter was in her wedding. Oh, yes. There you go. It's cute. Yeah, they were fun. And somebody tried to call her Mrs. Fornette and the kids were like, "No, that's not going
103to work." So, yeah. Very fun fun year. All right. [Music] All righty. That work there. Um, let's see. So, we had a few things, several things going on at the end of the year for sure. Some we got more pictures of than others, but um, Camp Green Meadows Outdoor School uh, was was really cool. I had never been personally before except for a dayong experience when we were just started back in CO and they weren't doing the overnight. Um so I spent the 4 days up there or whatever it is 4 days, three nights. Um we got everything we up in the upper leftand corner we have the fire pit and there was some singing going on and some skits at that and that kind of thing. down in the lower left there's a creek
104there and the kids were checking it out and learning about the creek ecology and different things. There's climbing wall on the center left. Uh the kids had a blast with that. It was interesting to see uh often how how many kids were hesitant to to do it and then as they saw everybody going um then they kind of jumped in. We did it two days in a row and so they had an opportunity to to try again and do that kind of thing. Um, we did some hiking there. Down in the lower right, there's some classroom activities going on. It was really neat deal. It was, um, it was eye opening to me, quite frankly, uh, what the experience was for the kids because the scientific part of it and the going out and hiking
105and doing all that was really good. Um, but there was this, one of the things that I noticed about it, you know, some of them it was their first time away from home. Uh there was some kind of growing up to do there and that kind of stuff. But one of the things that I noticed was really in a big way. We were around each other enough when we were waking up and when we were going to bed and when we had just taken a shower and all those moments that we don't share together at school um to where kind of like the pretenses start to melt away. And so then how much we're all the same became much more apparent. And so the acceptance I could see the acceptance level come way up between
106the students. And that was really noticeable. Like it was I it really struck me and it was neat because the kids were in groups that they with. And so they're there in groups with students they did or didn't know. They had high school students that they were with that they likely didn't know. They didn't know the uh I always forget the name of them. Naturalist. Naturalist. the naturalists. Um, so they didn't know a lot of people. The food was different, the schedules were different, everything. And um, and so it was it was really neat that way to see the interactions that happened. They became much more real sometimes. And that was that was very cool. I I didn't know that that that I would see that and it was neat to see. Uh, here is
107L. And law day is a um set of competitions that happens every year and um the eighth grade students participate and and turn in um art projects if they want. They can do writing um their different focuses. I think this year's focus was ei was meant to be historical on that uh main ID idea. Um, and then like I said, there's a competition. So, we ended up um taking first place in um in the art competition and first place in the essay overall competition. And as Miss Hatfield would like to say, we we won. We won. It was really good. Um and that's for eighth graders. Um see, I don't know if I have another picture of that now. All right. Uh so the kids have a good time and they um they provide really
108cool um prizes and that kind of stuff too. So not only is it kind of prestigious that that the students win um but also they come home with Apple Watch or or things like that that are kind of that are neat. So it seemed to to win those things. Uh we did an egg hunt uh we did it uh just kind of for fun uh in April time and um made a competition out of that too. We use PBIS points to to win, you know, for the winning teams and and basically we had some parents and others uh go put a bunch of eggs out on campus and then people went out and grabbed them and and gathered them up in the class the grade level with the most eggs. Um got PBIS points and
109I think we had pizza party also. So another just kind of fun thing to do. Um been trying to do more of those throughout the year and our leadership classes really helped through with that with Miss Hatfield, Mrs. lawn for also uh and others. Um but they really been helpful with those things and the kids have a blast, you know, and we spend half an hour on it like doing it, right? So So it's pretty cool. Um this is another one. They decided to have unicorn day and this was just the leadership class. So they got really into it. They decorated Miss Satfield's room. uh they ordered a bunch of stuff that were unicorn uh related and and the headbands with the uh unicorn duo on there. So, they just had fun and and just
110a neat way to spend some time together and and you can see Miss Hatfield and Miss um uh up there in the upper left. Um and just kind of having a good time with that kind of thing. So, that's cool to do. Um what else do we have? uh oes came over and visited the fifth graders, the incoming sixth graders to our school. Uh came over as they have been for some time now. And we have some of our leadership uh students. We break the fifth graders into into groups and some fifth grade teachers come over, the fifth grade teachers come over and we break the kiddos into groups and have the leadership eighth graders um show the fifth graders around the school, kind of tell them what's up. um go through a few things
111like that, question and answer kind of thing. And then we had some uh like Otter Pops or something. You can see in the upper right hand corner there uh getting some Otter Pops and and have a little something to eat. We went and sat down on the in the shade the upper left in a circle there and uh talk about a few other things. Got some questions. We always do um kind of an intro night beginning of August uh also for parents to come in and to hear some of the rules and kind of how we do it and then we do another tour and that but this kind of just breaks the ice for some of them. Some of them are like I've been here a million times and others have never stepped foot
112on campus. So it's nice to be able to lower the level of anticipation that that they're feeling. And uh if you look at the middle picture there, this um this is the students, the eighth grade students going over to Catalina. The trip went really well, but I did hear the trip over. I think this is the trip back cuz the seas are very calm, I can see. But the trip over was described to me as a puke fest. Um um so I'm glad I wasn't there. Um, but uh, everybody got over it. If you've been motion sick like that, especially seasick, really when you hit the land, it kind of just goes away pretty much. And that's like a godsend because you're wishing you're dead otherwise. Um, so the kids had a great time. They
113behaved very well. We had uh, good luck with our um, well, the teachers always do a great job. We have parent volunteers who come and uh, and things went very well. So, we had no issues and the kids had a blast and like I say, the seas were calmer on the way back and that. So, and it's it's another one of those bonding experiences. They get they took off God, it was 1:30 or something by the time they were rolling out, Sunday night, Monday morning. And so, they're driving all night as it were, getting into they get um down into Long Beach. to have breakfast and then and then hop on the uh on the ferry and go. So, it's it's one of those kind of uh bonding experiences, that part of it where it
114kind of it's kind of horrible, but it's kind of everybody can complain at the same time. And so, they get to share that. And then the meeting there is really cool. And they actually the first time we've had it, I don't have a picture of it here, but um had a buffalo come onto their campus. Uh their buffalo that are out there and there was this big old buffalo that walked out and everybody's cool. They don't do so. Um, so that and this was part of the trip. Um, I'm not really sure why Sarah put this together for me and she does a great job, but she just had to have the swim in there. So, cool enough, you know, McDonald's. Um, this is kiddos eating uh eating lunch or whatever it was. Probably on
115the way back um grabbing some food, you know, and and then when they get back, it's like uh gosh, it was 10:15 or something p.m. when they got back Wednesday. So, it's a it's it's for real. Um, and then we have the math athletes here. Um, where our students, Mr. Peterson led them up and we had an eighth grade team. We ended up uh winning second place and so they did very well with that. They have a lot of different competitions that they do and um they practiced and went down to Madera and uh like I said did very well, got second place. So, that's cool. Um, spirit week. We decided the last full week of uh of school to have spirit week just to kind of top things off. So, we had America Monday,
116tropical Tuesday, soccer mom versus barbecue dad uh on Wednesday, which was pretty funny. Uh, the neon tie-dye kind of stuff and then OCI school spirit. So, everybody had a lot of people dressed up, a lot of fun. Um, a lot of times we'll pick up some things from Oriental Trading Company or different things like that and um kind of hand them out or sometimes we've sold individual things for like a buck each or something like that and it's fun to have that kind of stuff. So, always always something good to do there. Terra said she wants to dress up with them next year. Next year we need you guys. Okay, I'll do the calendar. We'll have it. No problem. All right. Well, and you know, and then the coyote itself, right? Yeah. Needs to make
117which is I'm thinking about this the other day. I'm not sure how you clean that thing cuz it probably needs It's pretty We could probably Google that. They did it with the eagle. They got you guys. I had a parent who took home the wild cat. The eagle that bathing situation giant bathtub. I don't know. Yeah, because I was thinking about the last time someone was putting it on. I was like, "That's really going to be gross at this point." All right, there you go. So, and then we had a pep rally at the end of the week, which is always fun. Um, and oh, and that's the last picture. This was at the pep rally. We had a um giant cupcake eating contest and mine was pink. Um, and so, um, I didn't win
118the contest. In fact, it was really gross because it was that whipped frosting chunk on there. So, I was just waiting for someone to win the most of the time. Smash face or something that made it look good. And um I thought I was going to have pink beard mustache for a while, but after a few washings, it came out. So, um this was uh this was Blackbeards. We do a um usually we do a water park experience for the students that are promoting uh as a promotion party. uh that didn't work out this year. So, we went to Blackbeards and by all accounts it was it was really hot. But they also get to um to ride rides and play in that arcade and do that kind of stuff. Um you can't really see
119it very well, but the um lower middle and the upper right they're um doing race cars, go-kart things, and that was pretty fun. Kids had a lot of fun with that. So, even though they were hot and that kind of stuff, they had a pretty good time. and the PTC paid for the whole thing and then also brought in lunch and so that was very cool. Um, really nice of them to do that. And just like these guys said, I was, you know, involved heavily in the promotion. So, no pictures of that, but we had uh we're figuring 400 or so people showed up. Um, really nice outdoor event and um, kids the kids had a great time. It was it was just a really nice evening till the fight broke out, but you know,
120but other than that, it was awesome. That was after that was afterwards and not even most people realized it. So So that was cool. And it had nothing to do it wasn't our students and it was just like some people. So you never know. But we It was a really neat night. It was very nice and um and the kids did a great job and and so did everybody there. So and thank you guys for being there. That was nice. Um, and that's what I got. Thank you. Thank you. [Applause] [Music] Okay. Item 10, superintendence report. So, just a couple things. I want to introduce Vicki Palmer, who's here tonight, who's our new um, director of transportation. Came over from Newity Unifi. So, welcome [Applause] We're happy to have her. You started May 1st, right?
121And has done training with Robert and I we've heard nothing but great things and seems to be going well. So, welcome aboard. And if you have questions about transportation, I think now you're going to have be the new voice. I think Robert did a last voice message, so you'll be hearing her voice um on whether or not we're calling snow days or not. Right. Yeah, you could be the new kid. There's not enough snow to cancel school. Pressure. Yeah, we're going to need to order one of those for you. Yeah. Yeah. So, thank you for being here and and again, welcome aboard. It's great to have you. Um, also wanted to thank Tara for all the hard work on the budget. It is not easy. um we have lots of stressful conversations and um late
122nights and texts and emails and she does a great job and puts great presentations together and really helps explain things um to everybody too when they have questions and helps me to understand better. So when people are asking me questions. So thank you Tara. And lastly, I just want to let everybody know everybody that's not working much of the summer um uh staff members to enjoy summer vacation. Um it's definitely welld deserved and I hope everybody gets some rest and can rejuvenate and be ready to start another school year. So, happy summer member comments. Julie, do you have any? Yes, I do. I wrote some thanks. Um, I got to participate or observe the history of America in 40 minutes that Miss Dent put on and they actually timed it and it was 31 minutes
123cuz they all want to talk so fast and it was fantastic. Um, I'm really grateful for uh all the hard work that Miss Dent puts into um the students of our district and um it shows and everybody like steps up and we got to hear from um the choir at our recognition dinner and then I got to hear that song again at graduation and oh my gosh. Right. um all the graduations or both graduations. Um it was so impressive at OCI. You guys had seven superintendent awards. People that got 4.0's all three years. Y that's amazing. I was like blown away. It was fantastic. Um I got to go to Wasuma and see the staff celebration of Miss Archer and it was an outpouring of love and um not a dry eye in the place.
124Um, also I want to thank Michelle for her hard work on the LCAP and Tara on the budget. And I do appreciate both of you for the ways that you make it so accessible. None of this seems scary to me. It's not the first time I've heard it. And it feels like it might be an elephant that we need to eat, but one bite at a time. And you guys deliver it up in like edible bites. So, thank you. That's all I have. Nice. Nice. Thank you. Um I also was going to thank you guys for the work we understand and also the principles working in a small district and not having all the resources that larger districts have. You guys have multiple hats that you all wear throughout the entire school year and um
125it doesn't go unseen or unknown and we appreciate your hard work and we know you took the job but we do realize that you also doing the job of many people in the lifters but uh and that's complicated. Um um thank you to Miss Archer who we love having and um you've done a great job at Wasuma and we are going to miss seeing you at the board meetings but you're always welcome to come. She's like, "Yeah, I'm sure." Yeah. Yeah. Friends. Um I also, sorry I'm getting distracted. Um I did get to go to Earth Day at Wasuma and um that was a great experience and had fun and Stephen's wife was helping in the garden as well. We helped in the garden that morning and the beekeeper of course was very fun and
126it was wonderful. Um, I did go to the Fresno Philarmonic um, field trip with Denise and um, Miss Dent is so animated and fun and the kids love her and they I was surprised at how how are they going to like how are all these kids going to perform and the way that they incorporated their um, stage presence with the kids sing, you know, doing their um, recorders with them was great and fun and the kids had a blast and it was really fun. Um and let's see was there Oh, and um the eighth grade promotions were both very um lovely. It was a beautiful day at outdoors for and and anyway, the dome was great because we have air conditioning, but it was beautiful for to be outside. It was a gorgeous night. Um
127and then I went to kindergarten, um which was fun at Wasuma. And um yeah, anyway um just thank you all and I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Stephen, wow, that doesn't leave me much. No, I I I made it to the promotions as well. I that's I still want to call them graduations, but I'm getting used to the lingo on promotions. But uh um yeah, this was great at uh at OCI, not having to wear sunglasses and a Panama hat this year. Was great. Anyway, you guys did a great job. Hope you have a wonderful break going into the summer. I know a lot of staff keep working a little bit, but take the break. I know the kids are on theirs and uh so anyway, thank you for for all your hard
128work. All right, I'll just echo the sentiments of thank you to all the staff, the teachers, everyone in the district office, how hard everyone works. Oh, sorry. Never mind. I was trying to do sign language. Can you come back to me for a moment when we're done? Oh, you can go right now. I just forgot to mention thank you to Lana and your service and good luck on your retirement and your you know focus on your family enjoyed working with you this year. Thank you. Sorry I forgot. Okay. Um yeah. Anyway, echoing the sentiments of thanks to everyone and want to acknowledge that this is Superintendent Townsen's first year as the official superintendent and we just appreciate all of your hard work and we know that your job is not easy on fire. Yeah. So
129we get to hear a lot of the juicy stuff that happens in our close sessions and it's you know you deal with a lot and so we do appreciate everything we do everything that you do and also um want to acknowledge that you're forward thinking. We appreciate you looking towards the future for academics for behavior for everything and just always having your eye on the prize and looking out. You're never looking down. you're always looking out and not your piece and so we appreciate that and Tara always you know your budget just like I just want to echo what Julie said because it's just such a big animal and you know just looking at all those numbers but you always highlight everything even on the warrants you're highlighting and making it so accessible to us
130I I never feel like I can't ask you a question you always have an answer for us that you can break it down and make sense for us. So very appreciative of that. Um and then um I wanted to acknowledge that as board members when we receive emails most of the time it's something that's negative or some complaint. But we received an email this week that I want to read because um it made my day because at first when I opened it and I saw I could tell it was like a parent, you know, and it was to all the board members and I just went Okay. So, who is it? So, it says, "Dear Bass Lake Union Elementary School District Board members, my name is Chelsea Wilheight. I live in Oak and am a
131lecturer at Freso State. My 10-year-old son has been enrolled at Wasuma Elementary since his TK year. I'm writing to express my extreme appreciation for the work Mr. Brent Pana is doing as a fourth grade teacher at Wasuma. The demands on our teachers are extreme and wide-ranging, making it difficult for many to excel in their goal to support children's development academically in addition to socially and emotionally. I confidently attest that Mr. Peneda is succeeding in all facets of his mission. This year, my son has been fully supported in the classroom. He has grown academically, becoming a more independent and motivated learner. More importantly, he now handles difficult social situations with far more emotional maturity than he did in August. Having communicated frequently with staff over the course of the academic year, I know much of my
132son's growth is a direct result of Mr. Keda's efforts. I commend him and his work in the classroom. When contracts come up for renewal, ensuring Mr. Caneda remains part of our mountain teaching community should be a top priority. Thank you for your time and attention, Chelsea. So that was so funny. So I forwarded it to Michelle because she wasn't included on this and I knew she could use that boost. And then I also forwarded it to Mr. Potato so he could see what a parent would write about him. And so he wrote me a very nice response. And so anyway, we have to acknowledge that we don't always hear the positive, but there's a lot of positive things going on. and it was just so nice to receive an actual written comment in that regard.
133So anyway, so thank you to Mr. Peneda, but knowing that all all our teachers are working very hard and doing positive things for our students. So have a great and by the way, uh Chelsea Wilhy, her mother, I believe, uh Cheryl Wilhigh was a secretary for the Oak Elementary School for many, many, many years when were there. That was wonderful. Different different. Oh, okay. Okay. Well, we have a good Okay. Anyway, hello to Sharon. Uh, nice to have that one. Um, I too want to express um my thanks to Mrs. Townsen and also to Tara and your hard work and you really have such a high level of excellence and really appreciate all the effort you put in and and as Denise was saying, you have some hard decisions to make. Um, Michelle and I
134think you you have the highest um the highest level of professionalism. see we see behind the scenes not everybody sees and I just want to thank you that you're always taking into consideration what's best for the students in the district so thank you for that um and I just uh enjoy going to the recognition dinner um and that's another thing is is the office you did a beautiful job putting on uh such a beautiful dinner for all of the uh staff who celebrated milestone so thank you for all that effort um and hearing the children uh do choir performance was beautiful. Uh the graduations or promotions were absolutely beautiful. Wasuma I was really touched. Mrs. Archer children they expressed thanks to their parents or other um people who um had made a difference in their
135lives and I loved how they handed out roses and flowers to those in the audience. I thought that was beautiful. and also the Oak Creek Intermediate. Uh that was beautiful that she had it out in the grass amongst all the um oak trees and I was really impressed how many students received awards. How many have received very impressive very um just felt very honored to be in a school where the children were doing so excellent. So I love seeing the American Legion awards, the superintendent awards, Rotary science. So so I'm really proud of our students and that's all I'm going to share. Okay. And the last item or two more items, 12 future agenda items. Is there anything to put on next agenda? No. Okay. Our next meeting date, I have June 25th. And we
136will turn this meeting.
