[Music] alright there's no action was taken close session we do have time to talk to the agenda that we have a motion to adopt the agenda motion by mrs. Anderson did we have a second seconded by mrs. Pope and we'll do a roll call since not everybody can be seen mrs. Anderson okay mr. hunt all right it's mr. Bailey on the phone mr. Daly was not feeling well so there's an absence chair votes I am the adoption of the agenda we have board representative reports I do not see the representative for center in high school I see the representative from following in high school yeah taking after Mike Jordan there so that brings us to organize a Shenoy yeah yeah oh all right it's a your turn on the agenda $40 per staff member and
Susan staff members shows the difference there $40 Amazon gift cards through the Family Resource Center at center see the funds and so that raised three thousand two hundred and eighty dollars for that heartbeat is all from appreciation gifts that the teachers sure to donate with the money $25 thank you very much well it's good to see everybody it's been a while first I'd like to thank mr. lair for allowing me to come to the board meeting tonight and represent classified employees in this week and I wanted to thank mr. Grimes for including classified employee recognition in the weekly employee update today we've had several classified employees working to make sure essential work is performed and as a chapter we are having our monthly chapter meeting tomorrow via video so that's unusual for us but you
haven't been doing that usually this is a timer priceless we have all sorts of stuff in Miami right we do we celebrate but this year we're going to be mailing and actually mr. lair and I usually go after the school sites to be able to get certificates to our five employees of the year and people who may be retiring and we haven't had an opportunity to do that this year so that's kind of different so I missed that this year we're going to be mailing $25 gift cards to the following classified employees of the year Bernadette poor is the secretary at Center high school Roseann Maki field office assistant at deadly Debbie's Sabella instructional specialist at McClellan high school and center preschool Duane Drummond custodian at North Country Christopher Oliver instructional specialist at Oak Hill
Lori Edwards Spinelli secretary and Johanna misshapen instructional specialist that will the district office has not voted yet on the classified employee of the year we will be sending each of the following retirees a $50 check Leah hey more Spinelli library technician Martha Miranda deadly instructional specialist Julie Mullins Center high school cafeteria lead and Claudia bloomer Oak Hill and early computer technician and then this year our Deborah Brown scholarship recipient is Lindsay Colbert the daughter of Lisa Colburn she's a high asph and Lindsay will receive a 250 dollar published it from the chapter and she has been accepted at the University of Southern California we're excited for her thank you for celebrating classified employees and thank you for keeping us a part of what makes that our unified [Music] they would and this sounds ticky-tacky but
they would accept certain things and what they're looking for is some food items and then they do some clothing stuff but if they contact through the Family Research Center Ryan Miranda by email ill he will contact them and it was very nice to hear the donations that people do see human faces besides the ones I live with so I didn't do an update last week so I did want to run through a few things just keep you up to date with the full-day kindergarten program the second round of the program that we were going to apply for the other three schools with has been suspended the 300 million I think it's going to get swept we're having so that one is gone for now they may bring it back in later date it doesn't affect
Oh kill the current kindergarten program that we've already been funded for so that's a good news on pins and needles for a while excited know if they did or not the contract for the contractor is on the consent agenda tonight so we you approve that item we will have a contractor on board and they will start working with architect in some pre-construction stuff that we're doing the geotech reports which is the soils testing and all of that that was supposed to come in this week and I did receive it this afternoon so the good news about that is now we can get that to the engineers and they can start determining what soil we have to all fall because it's not going to compact well and what so we have to bring in and all
that good stuff to get our retaining walls and get everything cut to speed so that helps us a lot with keeping on on time on this project the drawings go to DSA in June so the architect is diligently working we couple of weeks and dates on how things are going and they are on tact with that they made many visits to the site to learn about the electrical and how we're going to get this here in that there and all that stuff so construction is going to start around April the modular buildings are should be coming in May and we should have occupancy in August of 2021 so that one's going it's going super smooth than anything out it's all flowing well the CTE applications that we have been graded on we got our grades
they postponed a word of when they're going to start awarding so we'll just have to wait for that to happen but depending on what you do with the bar night and what items on the agenda today there is some money and therefore our match if we receive some of those we will change the amount of the bonds that we sell if we find that the funds or so those programs so with that the elementary school we're working on CDE approval for that one they did complete the phase one event the environmental site assessment and then we're sending that to DTSC the Department of toxic substance control that report goes to them they look at it and either give us comments or a probe a so that's coming up next this week we should be sending
that off I'm just waiting for like 150 page documents doing those assessments tonight you're looking at an addendum to the Sierra Vista environmental impact report that takes care of our specific school site area and there was no findings with all of the work that they that they did there so if it's approved tonight we will then post it on our website for 30 days it goes to the county in case there's any public comment on it which they probably won't be we should be able to wrap that up and then we have done the RFP for architectural services so we put that out we have seven architects in our pool six of them said they were going to participate and the request for proposal and that's due tomorrow so then we'll score those and decide
which if you approved upon the bond items that are on the agenda we will have some money to pay them and get the designs for that school site and so that seee approval is we're working on there's a lot of different steps with the CVD approval once we get CDE approval then that's when we will move to purchase the site funding proposal with the developer and we'll purchase the site after we CD he says we can use the first cool sign and then just some other projects that we've been able to complete because they're like summer school sites so we had a room six of seven that the DA annex got flooded we were able to complete that project it's completely done we're now renovating it for one of the 21st century classrooms for the
high school and they'll use that for the demonstration classroom so that'll be done from this summer we'll get the rolling whiteboards and the TVs installed and all that good stuff all of the other 21st century classrooms are complete one over here in room 423 2370 he's up whiteboards and furnitures in there and the whole bit so we were able to wrap all that up got the furniture delivered I've replaced a few carpets we did get the tractor reconditioned and restriped and all that stuff which was part of the field replacement they've kind of dragged on it took a while but that looks really nice and then I've been able to do some steel coating with striping we strike at all of the sites the parking lots and stuff with the arrows so they know we're
supposed to be going and I'm currently in my brain just reports presentations budget update please support hi there everybody as we know the other news minimal early-stage drastically revised state budget and result in the pandemic we can hope that there will be relief through the federal funds which would go directly towards education but until that happens we're working towards closing that they may be invested so what effect there will be some revenue redemptions that lcff will be reduced a total of 10 percent from the second and third projection that figure includes the elimination of the 2.3 1% Cola and an additional seven point six nine percent we paid about 44 million IFS the 10% would be a 4.4 million times we know some programs will be cut and seen Steve when you're released about 50%
those grams are used for website expenditures that are no salaries right to this ramp so it will be easy great news adult education revenue will be its own percent reduction most expenditures from that side of our tighten salary but they should still be able to balance their budget without snap because a lot of their some of their salary expenditures are for X hours so that would have to cut out those extra hours and then also related to revenue there will be the permit this June a portion that will be moved to July it will just be a ten days to ferment so about something that we hand out for next year March April and made the payment will be the first of the 2021 coming to the player they don't have a state or when
that will happen I don't foresee a meeting at Ram's and you know those obligations because we have enough in reserve for next year before I move on to revenue that they can do things about so American resources don't um I saw a memo with the 10% on it but I also saw that that in this memo they said that that 10% was the governor assuming that the feds passed a three trillion dollar bailout and states that are in real trouble or New York Illinois in California so everybody say nor the other 47 states really gonna want to bail out these three big states so I have not heard anybody I don't know if they're just don't want to think about it or these people into it do we know what the cut would be if
that bill did not pass does anybody down those projections it's 10% he's saying it is and Lisa jump in he said it's 10% or if we do not give any federal stimulus we don't know so they're saying and he's not he's tying it to a stimulus not specifically the three trillion dollar one that had carved out education but but the stimulus that school districts would need or education is much much smaller than that so that but that was bailing out states it was I mean there was a loved one I don't want to surmise what was in it but there's a lot of things in there but his proposal did have triggers in the language that said if there was stimulus that would go to education and that would we coded grant and that has
to be used for technology this is learning for PPE clean efficient services and the amount of 70,000 so I'm imagining that if we have any Chromebooks to come back damage or don't come back Sept so money that we can use to replace those it will also receive Elementary and Secondary School emergency relief fund has their funds they're called that comes from federal government 90% must be distributed to the school district these funds are considered restricted but they may be spent on any services that maintain the continuity of services center the allocation is 1.2 million dollars we're going to use these for special education services to reduce contributions to this program will also receive possibly a concentration grant this only goes to districts that have 55 percent or more free reduced lunch does not vacation so
they would not receive the grant and so there is a lot of talk about this grant not being equimolar fair and so we are advised not to budget for it because it will likely change release maybe buddy allocates the state's portion pages there the purse for small firms unfunded liabilities and it's been introduced to reduce the employer contribution rate in two thousand twenty twenty one and two thousand twenty one twenty two each person's earn and each year equals about two percent contribution and for our districts that translates to over six hundred thousand dollars in savings there's also a change to the required routine maintenance calculation so that it will break down the total contribution for a very slight savings of about seventy thousand dollars as far as in certain efficiency where difficulty a spending for
the current year I need your facilities we're saving in seven utilities so far and this is not included all in May because not all of it what does it come in we say thirty seven thousand and I just take one say about 50,000 each utility and in cost we stayed two hundred and thirty four thousand dollars so about 250 275 thousand dollars just in those two areas from foreclosing facilities for Lupita all areas through these budgets such as already technology and our new creative budget and we're screwed position that's the question for mr. crying yeah go ahead sorry well I think that payroll told me we've had about 25 and that was last week so at 25 I think they're 25 that we're transitioning in and out some of those we did replace some we
did not replace on classified and certificated correct it is mr. Grimes um mr. Graham so yeah but we're scrutinizing every single one to make sure that it sounds like that's all the questions it's funny I had an idea in my mind it was probably Craig what would you say over a thousand head in 2021 mr. Kamath the integrity of our programs and your obligation during the next budget year by using our current ending fund balance so I wanted to understand all of the stakeholders for understanding the need for a healthy and the unbalanced is to get us through times like this that are unforeseen in 21 22 we can maintain operations using cover the deficit and then in 2223 should there be no other changes from the state and federal government we would be unable
to continue operation with the figures provided in the governor's may revise Lisa that would be meaning Lisa that would mean with the absence of any cuts correct if we did not do anything just ran as it was today no reductions we have two years we could live off reserves is what I heard you say yes so I did make several reductions such as our technology budget is usually four hundred thousand and I reduced it to one hundredths out of it okay so I did some budgets like that but anything any staffing cuts I did not include I do not include any staff being regular to hit because I don't know exactly what leaving and how we will replace them so that will be a big adventure so my only final comment and I'm not going
to spend a lot of time detail but I know Lisa attended the meeting today where other districts were there and the question around the table and Lisa you can correct me if I'm wrong there the question around the table two districts wasn't how are you doing is basically what year will you go bankrupt and to be honest and I'm gonna praise Lisa and I'm gonna praise the board and Maurice here so she gets some phrase for our unions and our board making decisions that keep us with a very healthy reserve because if all goes bad we're one that will be able to stay ahead a lot longer than others and I don't take pleasure in anyone elses pain but it so it shows me we're making right decisions along the way to help support our
kids in our community so anyway and I thank you Lisa for for managing all this and you know importantly to the board to make those decisions because sometimes it's hard when you have reserve and then our unions we have reserves it's hard to sit there but today and in oh wait is the reason we do what we do because praise for a leadership I just did I just want to thank Lisa because I know I asked you a billion gazillion questions and she's probably tired of me but it all is a process by us all working together we can get to a point where we we are in a little better place and again we still have a lot of work to do but it feels pretty good to be in a place that we
can make some decisions when other districts like we're flat broke at the end of next year I think it was I think it was but effective you told me today yeah but I don't have anything changed inside no I haven't worked on anything else remember that without any sort of other reductions being done and those push-ups that third year so her assumptions right now are based on us keeping everything as it is today and we know we are there's no way there's no way you can do that right yes yes yeah or or three million dollars for two years or something needs to need to happen pretty quite well you know I don't know that we should rest on that in three years I just going to be hunky-dory to get all the fed thank
you not sure I want gamelan you're absolutely yeah you're absolutely correct and so we don't want to give the false assumption that we're all good and rosy and let's wait we're saying we're gonna have to make a lot of cuts along the way here and that's where I think Lisa you'll get even more specifics next week we're still kind of going off some some bigger picture items so we'll start seeing how the books closed and things like that what we're spending okay any other questions well I do want to say I didn't get to attended but I deferred to senior celebration last night wonderfully that's about all I have I mean we can't Church schools we can't do anything right now keep things up so last month I okay again thank you one thing I
did want to bring up one thing I wanted to bring up unfortunately the booster center booster has had a fortunate situation this year with their crab feet they received a letter from the Department of Justice saying that they were not in compliance with permits that they needed for raffles and silent auctions and included what this letter was the actual invitation that was given to the board and the superintendent and belief cabinet and so when the booster club went to the DOJ to pay for the permit they said that it was unfortunate this happened that somebody turned them in it was either a community member and or a DOJ employee or both that turned them in because they would have had no other idea that this happened but now they are in compliance they will be
at the future so you know good for them but it's unfortunate because the only people that were hurt or clean up in hurt would be an appointee 200 students of center because you know our Booster Club is not a letter and that's not a music well as we know it was anyway but so just a little note to the administrators that they're listening is to please make sure your fundraising organizations I have all the documents these four before they start the process of any events because if this was something that wouldn't happen to have Center boosters it would have been very because there's a lot of time and effort in these events that they put on so just a word to the administrators just just make sure your people are and then I'd like to
give a shout out to mr. Jetson and Dudley elementary as you know they did their I'm going to call it the Miss you pray and then they did another parade and it was drag today so they went around and did a parade it was very effective and very uplifting and I heard from some community members that they really appreciated that and then mr. Johnson himself went above and beyond for staff appreciation he sent an email to staff and district employees to send pictures and he was going to compile these pictures and then sent them to the staff actually he sent the students and parents emails and the district employees and he sent compiled all these pictures and sent and video to to the teachers and their staff members of Dudley that was very much appreciated
they went one step further took these photos and then also had the staff take photos and sent them to the students so you know right on mr. Jackson that was a great idea for staff appreciation great thinking out of the box and then mrs. McNichols I want to say thank you to her and all involved ten events I didn't attend it very impactful it's not perfect perfect would have been all of us together having a dinner and celebrating that way but what she put together was amazing and I think everybody appreciated considering the circumstances that we were in so thank you miss Nichols and all involved I didn't end or stop by yesterday's event it was pretty much in the morning great great event that Miss wind-borne put together a lot of festivities posters and
signs and students and people coming and going and you can see the positive energy and I think that that was talking to mr. Alera this was good closure for the seniors and their parents you know they didn't get this ceremony as they wanted on the 28th but I believe this helped with the closure so great job with that and as we all know that Center high school and McClellan high school are planning theirs their commencement exercises center high school house and I believe McCullen McClellan is going to gather after restrictions are high they're doing a virtual one and then I do not confirm what else they're doing okay and then so that's amazing things angry and then riles is also going to do a virtual event is that current so we're wrapping so congratulations to
the graduates of 2020 and we need to discuss as a board how we're going to handle those virtual ones well I think the virtual ones when you do find the term is virtual they're not live-streamed they are predictable or video compiled videos and so maybe even asked I don't know if they that solicited any of you guys that they've asked certain people or said hey do you want to send in a picture or a comment or so but I think most of them they're working on those so it's more of a think of it more as a production that it is a live stream of certify it all that stuff is that gonna be done for the eighth graders they don't they just get back certificates to those difficult and then for McClellan they would
get theirs through the process they do either they're gonna hand them out and just like with the high school day-to-day work they're probably get their actual physical diploma ahead of time because kids can't if they can't come on that 19th or whatever date we get set so they're gonna have that it's going to be more of the process in the formality of it okay unfortunately we lose some of the tradition with you have a report mr. Laird yeah before I do I just wanted to echo and just thank our classified folks our certificated folks and our administrators you know when we went into this on March 13th it was a lot different than any of us could have ever imagined and they just really stepped up across the board so I just want to again
shout out thank them for that we are already planning for next school year and it's really hard when you don't know what you're planning for when you three months away and things seem to change every day so one thing we are doing we have survey sent out today and the school sites will send out the similar survey or the same survey starting tomorrow trying to get feedback from parents to see where they are with this whole situation coming back with restrictions and what they would see as a way because our concern would be however we come back that there's something opt-out we want to make sure we give some options because otherwise we could lose enrollment as a result of not having a certain option whether it's in person or independence any or whatever that
that model may be so we'll look forward to sharing that information with you because we don't know you know we hear things from individual we haven't got a big picture collectively from from staff so thanks to Mike Jordan for putting that together we got some samples from different districts that mr. hunt thank you for sharing some of the ones you had to is very helpful as we put it together and then I think this summer is going to be a very unique summer for us as we plan to to start whatever the beginning of the year will start and look like so we we will be enjoying our next step in this adventure and then also to the center line the McClellan grads and our eighth grade promoters and our sixth grade ones I just
this is a unique unique situation a unique year I was joking with my own kids I think if I was a graduate this year I remember it more than when I graduated from high school so many years ago because this will be something that maybe people probably remember forever so anyway with that I appreciate that the last one I'm going to give some some kudos does this person will never never brag on themselves but I wanted to acknowledge Mr Hunt receive a promotion for his Ponderosa where he works he would not be the principal at Ponderosa high school I think it was official as of last week so I know he wouldn't tell us so I'm gonna brag for him so congratulations Jeremy I know you'll do an outstanding job I gotta get you some
manners strangers tucked in dinner I've ever not attended so and then quite by accident I attended the senior appreciation yesterday because in true fashion at 1:48 yesterday afternoon my son says to me asked me Dad go anywhere I said I have to go to the stores it well I have to tell two o'clock to turn my book in so we don't get charged for it so I was actually coming in those 12 minutes to turn the book in accidentally drove through the senior appreciation light so that became I don't know why I waited till 148 but that's uh so I got to see that and appreciate that but by accident yeah my ex anchors are going to turn a book in I'm going to see an appreciation so he just got that as a bonus
because I turn to the wrong directions and then one of the things that I would like to do is just say you know often we do things and we say we plan but when we do certain things but I think it's really important to emphasize because I know a lot of us don't tout ourselves but we not that as the position we want to be in but it is we do work together well with our bargaining groups and they are on the same team with us and we still do have that small district fill which is why over the years we've said hey we don't want to lose that culture as we grow you know not that it's an enviable position to be in but this is why we do these things we should draw
attention that we we would like to have less pain than other districts we would like to take care of our employees we would like that make sure whether you're taking care of so this students don't see the effect employees in the classroom so you know it's kind of I feel the sitting right about this this like when we went to that bond sale everybody's like oh well you got the lowest in the California State history well we did as a board to make that decision do it on purpose we did decide to act quickly because of that bill the same thing here and it's not just us and the decisions we make but you know mrs. Mason using things of the world that you know you hear some stories from other districts where I feel
like we actually tried to work together and we and we do take the long view instead of the short view so I do want to just take an extra second and point out the people like mrs. Mason this is why we do this and we do appreciate it's not just at the time because we needed to come up with a budget that we appreciated it at that point but I think we do take the long view but it does take teamwork so I just want to say thank you to you guys for your teamwork I mean I know it doesn't always get called down but especially I think it's under public comments and I think they commented because of you guys commenting on the senior than yesterday it says thank you again to mrs. when
born and Senator High School staffer yesterday it was very well thought out and appreciated I do believe that kids were able to have a little closure and that was from Tanisha Jackson that now brings us to the consent agenda do we have a motion on the consent agenda all right we have a motion by mr. hunt did you have a second a second a second but mrs. Pope mrs. Anderson hi mrs. Anderson boatside mrs. Pope hi mr. Pope hi mr. hunt all right mr. hunt books I just to make sure he hasn't jumped on the calls I heard a couple people jump on the bows mr. Bayly on the call all right chair both side that makes it four to zero I know brings us to business items business item a is resolution calling for
general district election in Sacramento County do we have a motion on the item I'm not sure we have a motion by mrs. Pope do we have a second second I have a second but mrs. Anderson do we have any board discussion and anybody in the public who has any question please now there is a time delay to the computer so I'm trying to stall for time to give you time to ask your question is there any board comment on this item how long should we wait watching the video it's about 30 to 45 seconds behind okay so we'll wait a little bit of time just in case somebody's trying to type of question right now we might just share these both items B and a and B are both traditional anytime there is an election
there anything special it's so perfect for anybody who's listening who has a question on any business item maybe just look at all the business items now and just start getting your questions in now and then we will answer them accordingly when that business item comes up with anything yet all right so I don't believe we have any public questions on business side of a comment so mr. hunt i chair books i passes 4 to 0 that brings us to business item B we're in an election to be held in this jurisdiction do we have a motion on this item so moved by mrs. Anderson do we have a second we have a second by mrs. Pope any discussion board discussion on this item any public input on this Carol all right mrs. Anderson hi papou
excited mr. hunt Oh mr. hunt votes aye chair chair votes aye that's 4 0 business item C declaration of needs for fully qualified educators for the twenty twenty twenty one school year do we have a motion on this item simply repeat that fixed journey I voted with the okay so I think mrs. Annesley got there first so we'll put mrs. Anderson down as the motion mr. hunt does a second do you have any board discussion on this item not seeing or hearing any okay so mrs. Anderson hi mr. sigh this is Pope I misspoke both sigh mr. hunt all right mr. hunt votes i chair vote sign there was out four to zero we now need to open a public hearing and adoption for the sulfa local plan we decided as a business item and
we have to do a special hearing on that mr. I can just go ahead and share basically the cell phone organization that weren't a multi-cell a multidistrict sofa and with that they're the two of our member districts left and so we had to make modifications to the current a local plan that's what governs the districts and how they all work together turns out the state's actually asking all districts even if you're single self a district to redo your local plan so this is just a public comment opportunity if anyone have any questions regarding it well with this we exited we have individuals exit and then we looked at some of our governance structure to better fit what what we represent now is a organization we said representative to those news okay do we have any
questions or comment from the board so then I will close the public hearing not seeing anything will close the public hearing and the sulfa item and move to business item D which is the SOPA local plan do we have a motion on this item we have a motion by mrs. Pope do we have a second okay we have a second by mr. hunt we have any discussion on this side mr. hunt mr. Hutz I chair votes aye that's 4-0 our next one is our update of the center high school graduation requirements as item discussion so I've actually turn it over to mr. George this is a discussion item we had a while back trying to make some changes to our graduation requirements and with some different changes we wanted you found it was an appropriate
time to make that changes for it so mr. Jordan would you share what we're doing here we're trying to do absolutely Gary yes okay excellent yes so with the change of me currently there is a five credit when semester requirement for a computer application which is related course these are kids learning where they use Microsoft or Google Documents spreadsheets at an event and then a five units or my credit their technology they either take a PE class or a class of adaptive technology we are simply changing getting rid of those two requirements and adding those to the electives to get kids more choice on what they could take along the way to be on a CTE that the appear on occasions the computable course it really isn't updated for kids are learning those things way
earlier and by the time they guys we're one of the few districts around that is hung onto that requirement it is this is not the lower the graduation requirements at all it simply moved them for more category in deal to be elected for the Duke more opportunities to take other Gordon thank you Mike and the reason we put this is discussion in the high school or center high school has done public hearings situating solicit input as well we just want to put it on here just so we're fully disclosing you mean transparent unless there's questions or changes Jeremy you know or money there's hardly anyone in the state you deserve this birthday you spit moves where you leave that kind of thing there's no one around this you on 1/3 to the 20 is pretty
common first school they're still on a big Thursday and then on walk schedule right Ramat or and I agree with mr. Huntley depending on how this the budget goes she was able to the next year to I would be coming to the board preservation requirements until you know this baking and then also to your point mr. Howe to one of them changes for this is we did have some changes in staffing that allowed us to with this credit not if we remove this credit allowing us not to rehire that position and not feel that FTE so it actually helps us so the kids get pushed out into other electives so we're not replacing the person who typically had the schedule with this now even more dire they are yes every alright anything else on that
thank you alright so that brings us to action item authorizing the issuance and so geo bonds do we have a motion on this we have a motion to approve by mr. hunt do we have a second got a second by mrs. Pope I know we have a discussion on this because then we had a Koosh rule on the phone the board members have any questions to begin with yeah I don't know who sure has anything to present this certainly other than if there was questions we want them on but last meeting he shared the idea that it might be a good time to enter the bond market we looked at some needs coming up the purchases possibly purchasing some school property the planning for the new school and then possibly if we had a city
match I believe the board said can you bring this back to give us the flexibility to go after those dollars at a cheaper percentage and so that's this item that's come back you will see it's a combination between originally it gave us flexibility between our 91 bond and then our o8 bond and I think the new thinking from khushu from cfw is the idea that we might issue the bond funds from the tow eight and keep the more flexible bond for layer but it does this this resolution doesn't it does not allow us or the board to exceed that 15 million dollar which does leave us more access to more bond sales later when it comes time to actually build the school with some matching funds so I don't know khushu or Craig if there's
anything you wanted to add to that with you thank you very much summary the summary is very accurate the only the point of any conservative further down the agenda is the there's also a concept of a refinancing they were trying to avail yourself of which is not specifically discussed last time but there is an option indicate the taxpayers are some towers over there so being we would under the economy of scaled it to be under that under the same time but for this particular item your summary or synopsis which was very accurate at an alibi any board member questions on this um I have a question on F and G together given but we're said about if we made the decision we want to switch to the 2008 on this gives us more flexibility the
way these two are worded I see one that says we're capping at 15 million F but G at 11 million so the way these are worded is that gonna if we pass it in the storm is that going to allow us the flexibility to switch from the ninety one bond or we logged into the ninety one on the way this is working so Cooper will correct me if I'm wrong but F is purely the sale of bonds for those three items we talk about locking us in to 1991 I think it says 91 or not to explore the Oh 8 bond but not to exceed 15 million so in any combination that we came up with whether it was no dollars out of the 91 and XML and then the refunding is a totally separate
amount we're looking at what we had issued right gears back and then we're just refined so if I just want to make sure we didn't get tripped up in the wording yeah cursor is that correct that that would not make a difference if we end up selling or issuing on only 208 and not a combination of both where are we okay with this resolution correctly the reservation only is not to exceed amount it so if we choose to issue zero against that anyone on the resolution to approximately 320 and $24 for $100,000 suicide mission keep in mind though that 1919 one these taxes will only take him after the 1991 fog tax rates drop down where it shall be up to next year that's the only time these doctors will get in so even this
bond sale is actually going to result in the drop of the overall tax rate for doctors in their community I do and then one of the things and I know I've had this wrong teacher will tell me but I believe this is right right now if this is something we want to do right now the the interest rates the bond markets and low and then I know ku sure didn't bring this up this is me bringing this up this day there might be a little bit about certainty because we just had the main revised but we didn't really have the may revise if we think about the way that we collect taxes may revise usually as the revised of a January budget after the April 15th tax revenues have come in well they put off
tax date till June 15th so it may realize this year is another guess we're not actually going to see tax revenues probably until we have maybe our first ever to live right which is normally I think they can actual they're actually July 15 so yeah so we're gonna have our first ever August revised after the year is turned so there might be some turmoil so it's my thinking and you know I'm thinking if we know that we have low rates now and this is something we want to do we want to do it sooner rather than later because we're not gonna want to deal bad numbers come in July 15th and we have an ugly-looking August rebus who knows was that that's going to do for the markets so if we want to do this
might as well we have an advantage rather than not know what would happen is that fair statement to surety in the market and that could maybe we could find ourselves in a more challenging position to be able to sell bonds in the future there's not a guarantee needed even though it is very interest rate today we could find out those that even lower it in the future but most likely there's more about it needs to come out and that bad news protected ability and our abilities are long the future all right we have a motion in a second we've had some discussion is there are there any other questions and anything come in over the computer Carol no all right it sounds like we're ready mrs. Pope hi this is poker boat sign mr. hunt
all right mr. Hamm votes I chair votes on that resolution passes forth to zero that brings us to item G do we have a motion on item G so we have the motion for mrs. Pope the second for mrs. Ahn go outside chair vote sided that resolution passes 4 to 0 it brings us to our last action item item 8 the resolution for California Office of Emergency Services designation of applicants agent and we have a motion
on this item do we have a second we have a second by mr. hunt you have any board questions comments on the side just a comment this is something that Lisa came across we put in place it will allow us if we have cost and we might go recoup money through FEMA to relieve the pandemic cost associated with it we don't know of any right now but it puts us in a place where it's on your desk come up we would have this approved and ready to go to request funds from the state so it's kind of like our usual cheaper options yeah yeah all right under action the work there yeah it just carried over from the previous censuses very well it's to start the discussion hi mrs. Anderson I'm mrs. Pope I misspoke
books I'm mr. hunt hi mr. hunt fence on a chair vote side that resolution taxes board is zero which brings us to advanced planning our next meeting date is Wednesday June 10th at 6 p.m. so sorry interactive listen June 3rd I believe was also on the calendar but that was before we'd established our schedule because L cap and budget used to take two meetings you would do a public hearing and then do that that requirement is not in place ok so what we were hoping if you guys are okay that we would not use that first June 1 Lisa would present the budget with there's an L cap over the document we have to do it's a one meeting thing instead of holding two and then I'm not sure when the new out when the
new budget finalizes we may have to do another two but at this point we don't need both this is a short run of it if I got against the freshmen is with this time would this date work this June date will will work for us for company because we're working off with the main realizes so it actually gives Lisa a week longer than she usually gets oh okay you have to have it ready the weekend before so it will help July month off this time around is there just too much going on at this point it's scheduled to be dark but I thank you for that was one of my things we may have scheduled especially coming to but don't know but we can cross that yeah get to it any suggested agenda items for
that next meeting yeah okay and we don't have any reason to continue closed session do we have a motion to adjourn [Music] mrs. Anderson aye aye mr. snow time mrs. Pope mr. hunt all right mr. hunt both sigh both sigh we are adjourned
