001Okay, ladies and gentlemen, we're going to call to order the regular board meeting for the Tuscaloosa City Schools. It is close to your heart. She is a second grader at University Place Elementary that passed away. So, please her family in your thoughts and prayers. Attention. Salute. Pledge. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right. Good evening everyone. >> Uh board. Uh before I ask to adopt the regular board meeting agenda, I would like to announce that one of our elementary school principles has uh successfully defended her dissertation and is now Dr. Nachani. So let's Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to speak. We're very proud of you.
002Great work. >> Congrat. >> No, we're not going to make her speak. >> Uh board, may I have a motion to adopt the February 17th, 2026 regular board meeting agenda? >> So move. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. Anybody opposed? Be approved. Item number four, board may have a motion to approve the minutes of the February 3rd, 2026 regular board meeting and the February 10th, 2026 called board and student hearing meeting. >> So moved. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. Anybody opposed? Those will be approved. Uh we will now recognize the Westlaw Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team for winning the 2025 to City County Championship. Excuse me, Mr. Herd. Good evening, sir. >> Good evening. Good evening, Mr. Chair, board members. We're here this evening to recognize Westl Middle
003School for winning the boys 8th grade city county basketball championship. The first thing that I always do is really thank our parents for all of the time and effort that they put in making sure that our kids have every every opportunity to be successful and always talking about how we win, not only on the court, on the field, but also in the classroom. True student athletes. Thank you to our teachers for their support and everything that they do. I see we're in strong support. We have our administrating team, Dr. Atkins and her team. We have coach Carlile at local school ad. And just talking a little bit about this team before I bring up coach Holly, our head coach, and coach Trust, assistant coach. This team finished the season uh 14-4, winning this city county
004championship, defeating Hillrest on January 23rd, and we're so proud of their effort that they've given. As I go get close to six years here, we've won the City County Championship in basketball at every school. Now, we just want to continue that with the success that we've had. Um, at this time, I'm not going to say a whole lot more. I'm going to bring the team up and coach Holly and have her speak. We had three members to make the all tournament team with one MVP, but I'll let her give that recognition at this time. Coach Holly and your team. coach don't have to be like that. Somebody give a little step. >> Yeah, you know >> they so tall. >> Yes. Um good evening. I'm I'm really grateful to be here um since day one
005with this team, this wonderful group of guys, this coaching staff, our administrators that's here, our fans and people who have supported us every single day. Our rule for this was to play with purpose. Um that's why I chose to wear this uh hoodie that I wore because that was the whole motive to play with purpose and it's not just on the court, it's also off the court. That's right. So, we wanted them to thrive as students first and also let that transition into them being great athletes. It wasn't easy. TCS has wonderful groups of young athletes all throughout uh Tuscaloosa. Um so, it it was always grit and has to grind it out every single day, but we managed to do it. I have a wonderful group that's standing on side of me. Um these
006guys are amazing. I played the mom role and I played the coach role. But this was an amazing season that we've had, but we have a wonderful community behind us. Westl has so much potential and that's something that we were what we able to show this season. We was able to show how much potential lies within our hallways and our classrooms. And I'm just ecstatic that we're here. I'm thankful for the recognition that you guys are giving us. I'm thankful for the people that's behind us and I'm even more grateful for the people on side. My assistant coach, wonderful coach, learned so much from him. This been my third year. I couldn't have asked for a better one. Um, our ad giving me the chance to be a head coach coming in and just believing
007and trusting that I can come in and do what they've already instilled in Westl as a Falcon. And I'm grateful for my administrators because every day they help us out. They're motivating our guys and it's just it's a blessing to be here. So, we're grateful. >> Hey, coach, congratulations. I too played for I had a female head coach in middle school and was probably one of the the best learning experiences as an athlete that I ever had. So I I want to commend you for that because I know it does come with, you know, certain um challenges, >> but um I I think you're a great role model for these young men and uh what a better way to to learn basketball than through you on this court. I would ask please each of the
008young men to tell us your name and tell us what position that you play please. >> Start. I want everybody say your name loudly. Loud and proud. Okay. >> Loud and proud. Awesome. >> Mr. Chair, I am just blown away. I I feel bad because I haven't been to a West London middle school basketball game um for the last 20 years. I've been watching my children play ball. So, free free season. But I want to you coach. Um, nothing to the guy coaches, but I like that lady coach stuff and that you are playing the mom role and the coach role. The other thing that stands out, you guys look good. >> You are sharp. You know, you groomed well. You are, you know, you got on matching tennis shoes. That's a round of applause.
009And um I just I'm just blown away. Not not saying that Wes couldn't do it. I'm just overly impressed. And I you all keep up your grades. Like you said, it's important on and off the court. Um you getting ready for high school and so this where it starts. You don't you know it starts. It it's old. It's time to do what you need to do to to stay, you know, grounded and learn about going to college and all the things. Congratulations to you all. Good job ad assistant coach and coach. Great job. And guys, >> if I could just add ditto to everything that already been said. Um, I work at DCH. I do a voting school and I always tell my students on the last day of graduation, you know, this is your
010celebration of the championship, but this is not the end. This is the beginning. what you can do. You won't only be a championship playing basketball, but you can be a champion doing anything you ever want to do. The effort that you all together put together and made this season what it is, the rest of your life could be like that. And I want you to remember each one of those fellas that's right next to you and the coach and everybody was your friend throughout the season. And you all work together to be successful at this. Work together continuously to be successful every in your life in everything that you do because you're going to always need somebody by your side looking out for you, helping you, making sure that you making the next step. Just
011like you pass the ball, pass whatever you can on to your friend and help them be a better person. You see them doing something that they shouldn't be doing, get on because that is what makes the difference in you becoming a successful person. Thank you. >> Congratulations. Thanks, coach. >> Great job, guys. >> I get a picture with y'all. >> Coach, you stand in front of me because they'll see my head. >> I'm just teasing about say I need the point guard in front of me. Ready? >> One, two. You guys have to say I'm having to get up. >> Get your gap. Get your gap. Get in the gap. No, y'all. Good. We get in the gaps. >> Okay. Thank you. Oh, she died. >> She got >> Come back up on the steps.
012You got to go up the steps and take one. >> She's fine. >> There you go. Now you got it. >> Good deal. >> Thank you, Good job, y'all. >> Great job, baby. >> Oh, I thought y'all could stay to the Thank you all for being here. >> Okay, board. We will now recognize Oakdale and Tuscaloosa Magnet School elementary schools for legislative school performance recognition. Dr. Daria. >> Yes, sir. Um board members, we have two schools that um did exceedingly well this last year in academics. Um both of these schools were um invited to the state board of education meeting last week and um they were recognized by the state board, Dr. Mackey and many others for their accomplishments that were noteworthy in the state. We have one school that is top 25 for improvement
013and another school top 25 elementary schools overall. And I'm going to treat them separately. Um and I'm going to ask first if uh Miss Eel and Dr. Arrington and the entire Oakdale team if you guys will come on up to the podium. Um Oakdale made significant improvement from the year before. Um there is one person missing here and you all know who that is. Dr. Puit was was with us last year. But getting this kind of accomplishment is a team effort and that means everyone in the school working together with one mission and one focus. Um and this team that you see in front of you um all contributed to that. So I'm going to turn it over to Missy Zel to talk a little bit about um how Oakdale did this and how this
014team accomplished this. And um we just could not be more proud. They are not only did they improve, they are continuing that work this year. So they started off with a really good foundation and I think we've got even greater days ahead. >> Yes, >> Miss Good evening. Um, as a new proud principal of Oakdale, I stand before you to just say that we are continuing to move in the right direction. Um, while I'm here as a new principal sharing about the success um, I'm new to the school, so all the hard work and dedication that has led us to this point. Um, I contribute that to this amazing team. Um, Dr. Arrington, she was there last year with Dr. Puit and alongside with all the coaches and the interventionist working hard and still working
015hard today. Um, they end the school year last year with a B and I know we're going to continue to move in the right direction. We had our midyear review last um, two weeks ago and it was great. Our data is trending continuously in the right direction. Not just academics but discipline data, it's going down. Attendance data is great. Um, and I just say thank you to this team. They show up. They showed up tonight and they show up each and every day. Odell may be a small school in numbers, but in heart we we're very big and the community is behind us. Um, we have a great team and um, I just want to give Dr. Arrington the opportunity to just share a little bit too because um, she played a big role in
016this success last year and so still having her here at Oakdale with me this year has been a great help to me. So I just want to give her the opportunity to share. >> DITTO. WE JUST STARTED expecting what we expected. And so with that, we had data conversations, PLC's. I mean, we worked hard. And I told him, we came in, we were sad, it was a D. I said, "We won't be a D." Did I promise y'all that? I said, "We're gonna walk away and we going to earn we going to earn that B." And not only that, this year we're going to earn that A. Miss Eel, um Dr. Arrington, congratulations. Um Dr. Derry and I have always sort of thought of uh Oakdale as sort of like our quiet hidden little gym.
017And uh >> when when we hired you to be the principal there, we had very very high hopes because you uh came with a lot of a lot of clout and you have you have delivered and as a true leader, you have given all of the all of the glory to your team which I love. Um keep up the great work because we know what Oakdale and that community is capable of and y'all are just scratching the surface and it makes us very happy. Congratulations. And it is on it is on uh recording about the A. So just just so you know but you know >> thank you all. The our other school here today um Tuscaloosa Magnet Elementary School and they were recognized through the legislative performance for being one of the top 25
018elementary schools in the entire state of Alabama. Folks, this is big. Um, and what you see in a common thread of both of these schools is what you see in all schools across this system. And that is every student being successful. And that's what it takes for us to get to be a premier school district. So, I'm going to invite Dr. Nachani to the podium along with her team to come down and talk a little bit about Tuscaloosa Magnet Elementary. Good evening, board. Thank you, Mr. Wilson, for that little embarrassment. >> Trying to get used to it. I look around and I'm like, is my husband with me? Um, but hope everyone's doing well. Um, I'm just going to say this. It's these people. Several are not here with us, but it's my team. We're
019a family. It's my kiddos at school and our parents that make us better and sharpen us every day. Um, I just watch them create the magic and fun. Um, but we truly love our children and uh, we've got to do what they need, which is work hard with them, alongside them, and keep encouraging them. But it's each one of them. I'm going to embarrass them. They're going to introduce themselves and tell you what they do. >> Okay. April Elementary School. >> So they make the difference. Um and we just we treat each child as that child was our own. That is the mantra there. And they've got to do well. they've got to soar. Um I'm very fortunate to have Miss Ball. She was with me last year, not halfway, three4s way, and this year
020I was able to get her the entire time. So I'm super excited. So um we just love what we do and thank you to the board for supporting us always behind us. Got several people sitting here and they support us tremendously. Um and they make us better. Um thank you Dr. Daria. We appreciate you and thank you board for this recognition and for all that you do. I know some of you are in our building supporting our students on a weekly basis. So, thank you. Thank you. >> I need a classroom. Let's work on that. >> Yes. Keep working. >> You know, Dr. Chie, your your leadership and your vision at that school has remained constant and it remained very high focus and um high achieving that has not slipped at all. And one thing
021I love about your team, everybody always has a huge smile on their face at every event that I've seen. Everyone is very team oriented, which is a testament to your leadership and uh we are very very proud of you and Tuscaloosa Magnet School Elementary and your entire team. So, Thank you for um continuing to shine. We appreciate you. >> Thank you. Oh, we're getting our steak dinner, right? >> You knew I was going to say that to you. Was that shocking? >> Working on it. >> Right. >> It's on It's being recorded. >> You mean the one that >> just just kind of >> That's the one that Dr. Pope promised Dr. Nishan. >> Oh, but thank you. So now I call can I call you Dr. Prito's an attorney? I said okay no matter
022>> it's >> whatever. Yeah. >> While you while both of you all are still here Oakdale and um Tim is middle I want to commend you all on the security measures because I have been in West in Oakdale you got to sign in. They don't care. And I I I follow protocol, lead by example, right? >> And so and also the school always been a nice school. >> But when I tell you sister Eel over there got it to the max is so vibrant and doing different things and so um kudos to you all for having a school so welcoming. I went over there. They had a DJ, food, all types of stuff. um nice things on the wall and especially when I go to Tim miss um I go there weekly and it's always
023welcoming the children are welcoming they actually changed my mind about a life decision the fifth graders did and so I just want to commend you all for doing they did I want to commend you all for doing such a wonderful job and just keep going keep Man, that goes another big group. You know, >> why do people always move so fast when it's time to get out of the meeting? >> Doc, we get to see you tomorrow. Congratulations. >> Okay. Item number five. Believe it or not, we have no public comments on non-aggenda items, which brings us to theformational reports. Item 6A1. We will now receive information and updates about the pending Cogna board certification process. >> Dr. Andre Harrison. Good evening, sir. >> Good evening. >> I'm glad to be here in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
024after having traveled from Cairo. And you know, Dr. Daria made sure that I was here on time. And so, he was watching me basically all this weekend to make sure I arrived. But it's always a pleasure to be in quality board meetings and I know some of you all haven't been a superintendent and worked in Alabama. It's hard to go behind students though who have just done so well and I mean the testimonies that I heard tonight just continues to represent the great work that you all are doing. Well, I wanted to talk with you all about the upcoming board certification review that we will be doing here in April and to give you an update on the purpose of it. And so I have a PowerPoint and that I'll be using. Let's see if
025it's okay. Very good. So I represent Cogna as the senior vice president of accredititation services where we oversee accreditation and certification for about 40,000 institutions across the globe. And I always like to start with our vision and mission because we are your trusted partner and we do work really hard to make sure when you think about our vision when you see our vision and mission there two words are two words that I want you to look at with me to impact and inspire education providers that's you all to advance and enable pathways for success for the success of all learners and even as board members. Your goal is also to inspire and impact everybody in this room that works in education. Those are two powerful words that you think about also. But again, we are
026your trusted partner in it in advancing learning. So kind of where we we've been doing continuous improvement and accreditation. A lot of you all probably remember Sachs. Sounds familiar probably, right? But now, Cognia is an accrediting agency that has multiple regional accredititors. And we've been doing this, like I said, for over 130 years and 100 plus countries, 40,000 institutions. I'll tell you why this slide is important in a few minutes. So, I'll go ahead and talk now. 40,000 institutions across the globe. What I'm very proud about as a former Alabama educator myself that you all will be the first board in history to do this from across the globe. So I salute you for your leadership and Dr. Daria and your team. So let's talk a little bit about why we did this. And some
027of you all this will sound familiar to you. We've had a process for accreditation for years. And so we talked about certification and we do certification beyond accreditation where we do STEM where we do certification tied to competency based education. Then we were asked about board certification because again the board really has a key role in the success of a district and the success of its students as we saw tonight. And we know now postco what we've seen research-wise that just the rising demands and challenges of the governing team. Our certification really helps you stay focused on strategic direction and to strategic decision making and planning. It helps you also showcase your transparency and builds trust among your stakeholders. And it also showcases your commitment to accountability and holding yourselves accountable to high standards. So
028that's the background of our why we did this because they are great boards throughout the world. And Tuscaloosa City, I want to tell you, you all are a model for others. People have talked about your leadership and what you're doing. So, I'm so proud again to say that you all are the first and you will be representing Alabama where others will watch what you're doing and then follow in your footsteps as trailblazers. So, again, congratulations. So, of course, as Cognia, we always believe in standards because our standards, Dr. Pope, as you know, you've worked me a great deal. Our standards are all about quality. So we looked at 10 standards that we had to develop around what effective board members should be doing or what board members to be successful should consider. So our standards
029cut across four key characteristics starting with culture and I watched and listened to you tonight and your comments about how you connected with the stakeholders and giving them feedback and all of you all doing the same thing and how you work together. leadership. That's what most of the standards you will see in this process. Talks about your leadership, engagement with stakeholders, growth in learning, how you're looking at data and making decisions around where do we want to be in three to five years, where do we want our students to be in three to five years. So those are the four areas that the team will be looking at when we are here. So all of our standards are rated on a scale of one to four with four being the highest. And you can see
030there at level one, if the team comes in, the team will be looking at and rating all 10 standards. So a level one shows that there was no evidence or activity that you were working towards meeting that standard. Level two showcases that yeah, you made some improvements beyond level one, but you've not met uh expectations for the standard. When you get to level three, that's when you're meeting expectations. Level four, you exceed expectations and you have the results to showcase that. So again, 10 standards, each of them will be rated on this four-level rubric. And I've given Dr. Daria and his leadership team a self- assessment workbook that really unpacks each of the 10 standards more tied to a descriptive rubric. So what how will you get there? is a fourpart process. Of course, the
031first part you'll just tell us a little bit about your district kind of like an executive summary. Then of course, as I said earlier, the 10 standards, you all will work with Dr. Darrier and rate yourselves against the 10 standards looking at where you feel and you all work based on evidence where you're rating yourself, whether you're meeting expectation or exceeding expectation. and then have time to just reflect on the findings from those standards where you reflect on your areas of excellence, your areas for improvement and what challenges do you see because again we know there could be challenges and then you'll put everything together in a certification portfolio and Dr. Derry and I have talked about a timeline because when you finish your internal self assessment and organize all of the information, then our
032team will come in and do the external assessment. So your work will be as a board, you'll be working with Dr. Daria and his team to make sure that you complete parts one through four. So moving forward, a few key points that I want to point out about the review. The review will take place April 12th through the 14th. I will act as your lead evaluator. Uh the review process, what will take place during the process? We'll do an evidence review where you've submitted your evidence working through Dr. Derry and his team. We'll do a obser we'll do a board observation or observation in one of your board meetings that we'll talk to Dr. Der and probably be a recorded meeting that we'll observe. We'll do many stakeholder interviews. I met with Dr. Darrier today.
033He and I went through the draft schedule. His leadership team gave me feedback on the schedule. You all are on the schedule. So uh and I think we got a pretty good start uh what we're going to be doing schedulewide and then the findings we'll write a report and then the report will showcase your next steps. So I just wanted to give you a high level overview of it of the uh certificate board certification process and to thank you all for being that trailblazers and being innovators for others from across the globe. So thank you Mr. chairman and board members, Dr. Terry, >> Dr. Harrison, we appreciate you being here. We are very excited about this process and we look forward to this journey alongside of you. And you know, none of this really would
034be possible without Dr. Derry and his team uh pushing us in this direction. And we think this will be wonderful for Tuscaloosa City Schools. And uh we can't thank you enough for your leadership and being here this evening. >> I tell you, I I couldn't agree with you more. You all, you all are the a great example and so we're excited. Can't wait to get here. Thank you all so very much. Now I've got to drive down dark 82. >> Thank you, Dr. Harrison. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Item seven, introduction of motions, resolutions for a first reading of which there are none. Brings us to which brings us to item eight. It's the consent agenda items. We have 8 A and 8 B. Board Have a motion to approve consent agenda items 8A and
0358B. >> So move. >> Second. >> Call for vote. All in favor? >> I. Anybody opposed? Consent agenda items 8 A and 8 B will be approved. Which brings us to item nine. It's the regular agenda items for final adoption. 9A, approve the superintendent recommendations regarding changes in personnel. Good evening, Dr. Cameron. >> Good evening. I've got the superintendent's recommendations regarding changes of personnel. I've also got a supplemental list. I'll go through both with you. Starting on page one, you have six resignations, one new certified personnel, one new classified personnel, one transfer to C to certified personnel, five part-time extended A tutors, one 2526 Paul Bryant high school athletic supplement, and one 202526 contracted coach. On the supplemental list, you have one resignation, one new certified personnel, three 2025 26 fall semester district team leads,
036two 2526 contracted coaches, four 14 part-time extended day tutors, and 12 summer learning academy contingent upon student enrollment. >> All right. Thank you, Dr. Cameron. Uh board members, are there any set aides for a separate vote this evening? >> I don't have a set aside, just a general conversation. >> Okay, let's um call for a motion to approve. >> Second. Questions, discussion, comments? >> I know. working super hard. My favorite conversation and we got two more on the list. Three. One's two are leaving and one's coming. special education teachers and then we have aids as well. Yes, we are. Uh we're working uh HR is working with teaching and learning um and with special ed to come up with a plan on how we can retain and recruit teachers for special special education. Um you'll
037notice the teacher is not leaving until May. So um at least she's finishing the year with us, but we are we're still working on it. Uh we had conversations this past week. Um, so we're we're moving forward with a plan and we hope to have that plan presented next week, I believe, to executive staff. >> And this is this probably sounds real awkward and it could be where do we inherit the tit the wording for the titles from? I'm just asking. It just when I just said it, I just thought about it. Special ed is there not better terminology at this point in life >> or updated. I'm not not you know >> just asking just when I said it it just sounds now so I don't even like to say that word right about
038now we >> is there a way do we have to say that word >> I mean people have abilities different abilities can a teacher be called something >> that's the way it's coded so yeah um >> look have a general ed teacher and it's a special education teacher >> well our babies don't feel like that you Maybe it's just time we challenge Ed Mackey and them to come up with a better terminology. I wouldn't want to be called that. I mean, I'm out there loving on anyway. I'm sorry. Wrong time for that conversation. >> Noted. Thank you. Appreciate it. It's it's a it's it's a we appreciate that perspective and I know exactly where you're coming from and it comes from um the right place and that's certainly something we can look at. Thank you
039for that. >> Thank you. >> Yes, ma'am. >> I just want to say number two on the supplemental list. I don't just know this young lady. I heard great things, enough great things for me to stand back and I'm excited for TCTA. It's a big business. Big business. Any other questions or comments before I call for a vote? >> I I want to go back to Dr. Jackson's com and she wouldn't dare be called anything else because they call her this special because she loves what she do in that perspective. And not only do she do it at school, but birthday parties and for they all come and she just loves her role and they call her little special. She's small. She was a premium and so I feel you. But then you know I
040know when we was in many ago in Northern even the gifted students fall under special education. So, it's not just that you're talking about children with u not the same abilities, but the special but the uh gifted students fall under special education the way the state of Alabama does it. So, it's a very interesting scenario. But I don't think the name takes away from them feeling how they feel. Maybe it may touch the children, but she could they call her a little bit special and she loves it. >> I was going to talk to you after >> I just It's just like we don't say secretaries now. We call them admins. you know, we sort of move up with terminology and just >> not to say we could we could be, >> you know, that's
041all it just as a social worker, I have to be cautious of the terminology I'm using as a social worker. So, we practice certain things. So, when I kept saying it, it just hit me. >> I can't be saying one thing and teaching students and then I come here and I'm not applying what we're we're fighting. when it relates to just terminology that's all and it just sound awkward when I see it and my brain just caught up to what I was doing next. So I just asked that's all and while I was just in here thinking you know I was like I like to do acronyms I say ST set teacher just some just you know just me thinking out the blue so I get what everybody's saying and I also to add to
042that I do feel like you know in this day and age titles to some people make a difference for them not for me but you can't I'm a cos So I'm out of stock. So it but it do make a difference for even people that may be coming in um and also for some students. So I I feel you and I feel you got mine special. But I do I do understand where you coming from and certain things are a bigger deal to others, >> right? And so we have to respect people across the board. Okay. Any other questions or comments? Excuse me. I'll call for a vote. All in favor? >> I. Anybody opposed? Each of those will be approved. Thank you, sir. Um item 10, unfinished business, of which we have none to
043attend to. >> Mr. Chairman. >> Yes, sir. Transportation. >> We have the one item on there that is item um 9B. It's not showing I think on the one agenda, but it is the item for the Department of Transportation at the Magnet School. >> I'm sorry. I printed mine out this >> No, it's it's it's it's not it's it's an issue of showing and assembly versus um what you guys have. >> Thank you, Dr. >> But if it's okay, we'd like to keep that one on there even though it is off one of those agendas. >> Okay. 9B. Discuss approve Alabama Department of Transportation purchase of the 0.150 acres of property uh the purpose of the McFarland Bridge Pro project. Um, Mr. D, Dr. Derry, >> I'll carry that one if if it's okay. So,
044board members, this is one um small piece of the property at the Magnet School. As you know, um, ALDOT is doing a whole renovate uh, change to the bridge. This is part of that. In short, they just need this little sliver of land to put a turn lane in there that is to the benefit of the magnet school and the future traffic flow there. So, we're agreeing to uh do this and I believe it's about a $49,000 purchase um for the school system. >> Okay. Board may have a motion to approve. >> So, move second. >> And where will those funds be? What will happen with those funds? >> Okay. Thank you. I assume this um this turn lane is right next to magnet. And so I guess my question is when does the project
045start in relation to the school year and how long does it take because that's going to be >> great question. So this actually is a really small piece of the overall project. We're going to be coming back in the next period of time and I don't know that time, but with Tuscaloosa Department of Transportation because they'll be needing some of this as well and potentially making some changes to the magnet school traffic flow. So, this is a truly small part of it into the larger part. The um engineers are working with us on timing of all this. It's still a bit down the road, no pun intended, um, but it's coming and both T do DOT and ALDOT are working together so that they can coordinate it with us and to both their credits, they've
046been very helpful in bringing us to the table. Our admin teams at the school have all looked at the traffic flow issues. They've been responsive to that. So, it's not anytime too soon. They do understand school hours and school days, so they're trying to plan around that. But we'll we'll be bringing that to you guys again when T do DOT has their um their needs presented to the city board of education. >> Thank you. >> And we'll have a more specific timeline in response to your question. >> Any other questions? Call for a vote. All in favor? >> I. Anybody oppose? >> Be approved. Thank you, Dr. Daria. >> Yes, sir. >> Um item 10, we have no unfinished business to attend to. Uh general announcements is item 11. We have a board work session
047next Tuesday, February 24th at the region's room at the central office. Um, then the following Tuesday will be March 3rd, which will be another regular board meeting here. Also in your packets, Miss Bishop has put and Dr. Darius sent an email earlier about the Tuscaloosa Education Foundation uh, taste the possibilities. And so, um, I think you've asked for potentially a Is that right? I see an email about that. Otherwise, they do have individual tickets for sale and they also have tables for sale and uh it looks like it's going to be a great event to um to offer support for STEM and other curricular activities. So, look at your look at your folder. >> And of course, the education foundation is always so generous with TCS and the work that they're doing is really important.
048And if you can go support them in a way that is also fun, then I think that sounds like a great event. >> And if I may add, it is on a board meeting night. They knew that when they said it, they ran out of date options. So, we'll be sure to keep that real light so that those who want to go there can make it there. >> Which one? >> Get a motion on the >> Did I not get a motion? Um, >> did you get the second? >> Yeah. Did you get the second, too? >> Motion. >> Thank you, Miss B. All right. Any other uh general announcements by the board? >> It's on the website. >> All right. Hearing nothing, we'll stand ajourned. What's going on,
