as none. And this case, we have Mr. Jay Duke. >> Thank you, Mr. Lucas. uh board members, superintendent, ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. This is our uh routine and and normal presentation of the uh con contractual agreements under $50,000. We just simply um present those. They're dropped in assembly and we want to present those to the board in an open board meeting. >> Okay. >> And these are all the ones that's under $50,000 that Dr. Kerry signed. >> That's right. That's right. >> Thank you, sir. >> Okay. Anybody have any comments for Mr. Duke? Not we'll move on to item number seven, introduction of motions, resolutions for first reading. We'll receive and discuss approve um first reading of the 2026 2027 parent student code of conduct resource guide drug screening policies. Dr. P, >>

we're gonna shut that up next time. >> Hey Good evening board. >> Good evening. >> This is the u first reading of our student code of conduct. There are 14 changes um made to the code of conduct. There were um six of those very minor changes and then the other um ones were if you look on this on page 12 the application programs we added the language about the children's center to include um how they are rolled and accepted. Um cell phone policy on page 16. um corrected the spelling. Also on page 16, we added a um standalone statement talking about the storage pouch and the um solution to help with the wireless communication device policy. On page 18, there was also um information with students and staff are prohibited from um inputting any identifiable

information um into anything dealing with AI. On page 41, um, revised the statement for the introduction to we changed the language for the introduction page. And on page 49 to, um, class three offenses. On page 49, the revised code 3.63, removed school fightings and updated the language to state video recordings and or sharing recordings of sexual activity. wireless communication device um incidences were updated to reflect um their second offense. They would go to one day in school suspension and for a third offense two days in school suspension. Those were the 14 um updates or edits made to the code of conduct. Any questions? >> Okay. board meeting members since this is the first reading you know uh hopefully approve this at our next board meeting Dr. Pope >> yes sir >> okay so if you

have any questions or comments please touch bases with Dr. Pope Dr. Daria during this time and if no other questions or comments anybody Jackson Dr. Jackson okay item B uh I think we want to move to suspend the rules. I think you want to approve this one tonight. >> Yes, sir. Please, >> if we could. So, if I can get a motion to suspend the rules uh for and approve this for tonight. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I And now a move to what? I move we're gonna we're going to approve instead of receive approve um discuss first read this first reading job descriptions of virtual program Dr. Pope again item one and two. >> Yes sir. Um board this is a um recommendation for to approve the job description for the virtual

program specialist. This person will oversee um the implementations of our virtual program for 2627 school year. Um this will be a 245 day uh position. They will be um monitoring all the activities um dealing with schedules, any concerns with those students in the virtual program. They will support all three high schools. Those students that will be attending all three high schools but virtually under the program and that person also will be um um supervised by our um director of strategic initiatives. Any questions? >> Can I get a motion to approve? >> Board members. Any questions or comments? We have a motion in the second. >> So, this this will be a permanent position or this something we're going to try for one year and then see if we're going to continue going forward. >> Our

goal is to have a um virtual school. So because of the when we put the fillers out looking at the numbers we decided to go this route with a virtual program first. So while we're doing the virtual program Dr. Dario's um um guidance is to use these is like under the schools not necessarily like um individualized. So this one person will be supporting. So if we create a school then it would be necessarily move up to a principal that position would be. >> Okay. So, right now it's no standalone um site or standalone um school. It's a program that falls under all three of our high schools. But this, my understanding is this version of it where it's under the high schools does allow a little more flexibility in terms of um some students who

for whatever reason need to go on a virtual plan temporarily but then go back to regular school which they wouldn't sorry in person school which they wouldn't be able to do if they were at a full virtual school. Isn't that correct? Well, they'll be they have all the um um privileges that they work in a inside our buildings. They'll still do those activities, those extracurricular activities. They'll still be doing those things as well. So, the temporary part when they sign up for it for the year, they're um they will be expected to complete the year um in the virtual program. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> But that's also help students that are working uh a job that probably seniors have already graduated, just got few things to take. >> Yes, sir. >> You think something

would help them a lot? >> Yes, sir. It was um things like we wanted to make sure for one, they were on target. They weren't behind on any of their um their credits or in that nature. So, those students had to be um we say on track to graduating, but even if we accepted a ninth grader, we looked at their records and see the things they were doing. But those other students that have their time that they it will allow them to go to work. But some of them had situations like um it may be health concerns or um um taking care of parents. So it's different criteria that was set for the reasons why those um applicants were accepted. >> Each school has a a cap of 40 um seats. Um so there the

total of the program is 120. >> How many do we have right now? We have 28 at Bryant, 25 at Central High School, and 25 at Northridge. And we leaving room like normally um our rising seniors um in our normal virtual program that we already have that were that we were operating those um students when they realized they have like one or two courses to take, they would apply for for virtual. So we we leaving some room at each one of those schools for those rising seniors to apply. I know it's a strange question, but just out of curiosity, we have a g opportunity for 120, >> right? >> Yes, sir. >> So, say if uh two of the schools topped out and one of the schools did, is there option for u somebody from

a different high school to >> Yes, sir. Sure. I think we have some flexibility because that 120 is the the numbers that we're working on within our district. So, we're trying to give um all three high schools the same amount, but once the window closes and we notice that we do have um some students that are um made those that met the criteria and they may be at a different school, Dr. Derry had always have the flexibility to add those students to the >> program. Thank you. Board members. Anybody have any other questions or comments for Dr. Pope? We have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> I I consent agenda item eight. Items A through C. I miss something. >> M. I'm sorry. >> Yes, sir. >> Item B, receive review job

descriptions of virtual monitor. >> Okay. So, so this one um >> this is so approved. Both of them approved for tonight, right? >> Yes, sir. Both of them approved for tonight. Um, this position, this job description is for our virtual school monitors. So, the first one's a virtual school specialist. That person will implement, oversee all the implementation, monitor everything, but we need three virtual um u monitors and their their role is to directly u work with the students um those um schedules, making sure that they're on track. We have a um a tracking system that if they're on egeneuity, it let us know what percentage that they have completed their um their um their work to make sure they're on target to meet the goals for that particular subject or particular course. So that uh

I call facilitator but monitor will be supporting those students. So we're putting one responsible for each of the high schools. So a monitor for um central, a monitor for Bryant, and a monitor for um Northridge. members. Can I get a motion to approve? >> Any questions or comments for Dr. Funding? >> Yes, sir. Um, Dr. Cameron and Dr. Maxi and um the whole finance team came up. So, because Dr. Derry did not want to um I was in emails with them. So, Dr. Derry did not want to make sure we were in any way messing with our budget. So we did find funding that was not pulling away from our high schools. So the funding was being supported um funding through um for the virtual monitors or through is through OCE and then the the

um other funding is the specialist is from the right. So the specialist primarily is state funings and then we'll um mirror some other funding in there with it and then like said the monitor will do um that we use as well. We talk with J and J and finance make sure this is all set. >> Thank you. Understanding the monitor would not >> I I did add want to add something too. The monitor is a classified um employee that will be um 187 days so nine months and it will work um similar to the um the way in the uh salary schedule it would mirror the um dual enrollment facilitator um that those roles >> board members any other questions or comments Dr. If not, all in favor? >> I. >> Anybody oppose? Motion pass.

>> Thank you. >> All right. Item eight, uh, consent agenda items A through C. Can I get a motion for adoption? Approve. So move. >> All in favor? Item nine, regular agenda items for final adoption. Approve set item A, approve superintendent recommendation regarding changes in personnel. Dr. Cameron. >> Yes, sir. I have the uh superintendent regarding recommendations regarding changes in personnel and I have the supplemental list. I'll go through both with you. Starting on page one, we have four resignations, two reassignments, and two part-time extended day tutors. On the supplemental supplemental list, you have four resignations, three new certified personnel, two new classified personnel, three transfer of certified personnel, one transfer of a classified personnel, one reassignment, three part-time extended day tutors, and one 2025 uh 26 North High School athletic Okay, board members, before

we have uh a motion, are there any set aides? There none. Can get a motion to approve. Have a motion. How about a second motion? Eric, a motion. >> Any comments on any of the items or members? >> See how close we get to the end of the year. This gets a little shorter. It'll pick up. I promise you. >> But I'm looking at that. Um, a lot of them going out in Mayo. >> Yes, sir. >> If there's no other comments or anything, can um all in favor? I Anybody opposed? Motion pass. All right. Item B, discuss approved special education uh strategic investment proposal compensation for class room teacher Dr. Derry. >> Yes, sir. Board members >> and team, >> this is a recommendation that um comes out of the presentation that you heard

from Dr. Prescott and team members in our last board meeting where you were briefed on this. Um what the recommendation is that we're asking for the board's approval is simply the compensation component of this for our special education educators. Um as a reminder, this is for a three-year period of time for those defined rates that you see in the board report with $5,000 for educators and $1,000 for pareducators and then the the additional supplement for self-contained. The way this will be evaluated that you'll get data on each year and throughout each year primarily vacancies. The goal here is to have zero vacancies in our special education classrooms, but then also our retention rate. So, this is both a recruit and retain strategy um for a three-year period and we will provide you with evaluation criteria

through the course of time. If the board approves this this evening, um we have a communication campaign where we will begin communicating internally to our special education um team members and externally to candidates who may be interested in our school system. And we will um brief you along the way as we launch this. Uh our team is certainly here for questions, but all we're asking for is approval on the compensation component of this. >> Okay, board members, can I get a motion to approve? So >> any questions or discussions for Dr. Deer? >> If none, all in favor? >> I. >> Anybody object? Motion pass. Uh general announcements. Do we have any unfinished business or updates. Anybody have any board members have anything? I do want to talk about uh the April 14th, 2026 uh

board work session. Uh chances are you'll probably get a notice to cancel that one sometime within a week at the time, but do continue to hold it on your calendar until you get a cancellation. Any other comments from board members? Anybody here? If not, uh board members do remember we have to stick around right after this board meeting for a little special information or training. And with that said, meeting a journ. >> Thank you, board.
