00522 years at Crenshaw High and I'm going to give my information on what happened during that time um the first thing in terms of how it changed the well Palisades the newcomer program came to Crenshaw when Palisades refused to take it next the day laborers fill the area for a second got hope with prop 187 it passed easily so then you get a judge to declare it unconstitutional we're back in the same situation you surround Crenshaw with Charter Schools they're able to pick what students they want and you have to accept them at the public schools the parents will eventually become aware of who's really here to protect children many of the rights of parents have been eliminated by politicians from state county they are in a situation now where they're telling us that transgender
006individuals are the important part of what's being done here and anybody that believes that people like Bruce Jenner to be able to change from one to another is got mental illness for me and I can't believe now that you could create uh something other than a man and a woman other well Rob Bonton now is in the process of doing the same thing and making it illegal for parents to have a right to speak and eventually it will come home to you to where parents will step up for their children thank you for your time Channing Martinez to call in I see you're not online yet with us um let's see I see you here please press star six to unmute yourself and you have three minutes to speak once you begin foreign strategy Center
007I see that the potential litigation U.S Department of Education OCR complaint from the organization the left-wing organization parents defending education re the black student achievement plan is on your agenda so there has been some progress since the last time I came and spoke to you all so that's very important again I'm calling in this morning and some other members will be making a public comment in person this afternoon to urge you all to understand and discuss the significance of this complaint from parents defending education and for those in the room and on the call who are unaware parents defending education is a left-wing organization based out in Virginia that that is has filed a complaint with the U.S department of Ed against LAUSD basically stating that the black student achievement plan is racially discriminatory uh
008what I really want to emphasize this morning is that even though this is being counted as potential litigation that the LAUSD needs the Board needs to be prepared to make a strong action of support for bsap this is not something that's going to go away whether it's because of this specific complaint or an upcoming complaint this is not something that's going to go away and so we need to deal with it head on uh the strategy Center and other organizations are hoping and want to work with you on how to develop a plan to do this one we do think that there needs to be a public Declaration of support for bsap we also think that there needs to be another influx of funding dedicated towards vsap and we also need to make it clear
009that pde is a part of a larger strategy on the part of the right wing right to basically attack anything that is going to support our students of color our most marginalized students and so we need to make sure that we are prepared to respond to that um we have sent a letter to all of you you may have just gotten to your uh inboxes this morning so I hope that you will have time to read that and discuss while you are in closed meetings and again uh what we're looking for is for you all to maintain all of the structures of bsap as they currently are to not liquidate any of those program resources we want you to look into issuing a counter complaint uh against pde to challenge them we think that it's
010really important that we're proactive in this again this being a potential complaint that does not mean that this issue is going away so we need to be proactive we do want that vote of confidence through that influx of money thank you very much for your time we appreciate your time thank you very much have a great day you too uh Mr David tokovsky I see you here come on up for Tab 2 personnel yeah thank you very much for the opportunity to speak to you Mr superintendent boarder members of the public and Senior staff wishing you a well end of the summer and a good back to school as well as a moment of reflection uh both upon the horrors of 9 11 as well as the terrorist attack on this school district which is
011now in its second year since Labor Day of last year when this District was attacked by a allegedly foreign entities who made you delegate a significant amount of authority and Power on contracts to take care of this problem and today you hire a second senior official in the cyber security World under the granted autonomy that the State Board of Ed gives to this District to have a large larger than statutory allowed number of senior officials in the district and so this purpose is very much aligned to the federal and state efforts that are happening um similarly I would like to say that on this closed session agenda is the work of the health benefits which you will be discussing no doubt in closed session the health benefits at this point are an essential part I
012remember as the employee of this District as a teacher the health benefits are more fundamental to attract talented teachers I came in 1983 at the nation of risk and the health benefits are more than a six to nine percent pay raise or a nine to fifteen percent raise they're essential and with over three billion dollars still in one-time money and of course one-time money is is potentially a problem but as far as I remember into the 1940s 50s 60s 70s 80s we've always lived on the state budget that's one-time money that's all the state gives us is once a year budget the state doesn't do a two-year or three year or five year it's like some a northern European country might do in planning out their their government we get one-time allocations and so it
013behooves you to look very strongly at strengthening and above all allowing the district after two years of covid a year of strikes to focus on curriculum instruction the superintendent has set aspirational goals on math and English and other areas and to spend a whole another year negotiating over a hundred or two hundred or three million 100 million dollars rather than focusing on curriculum and instruction is to debilitate the superintendent's ideals of closing these gaps and so I urge you to not spend months if not a whole year going back and forth on that this is very very important and pursue the revenue with the bond the next fall thank you for your time moving on to General Public comment Alejandra Guzman are you here Alejandra Guzman so for everybody in the audience and in the
014Deus Miss Guzman is going to speak in Spanish and if you want to hear what she's saying while she's saying it in Spanish please please put these on moment we'll pass out these headphones to listen to the simultaneous translation foreign six children that go to Grant uh in the Khan STEM Academy Hollywood Hollywood High School and I also belong to the 400 parents that have signed the petition of asking for police in schools and the reason why I am here today is to request that at the grant school that we have translators at the meeting with the principal and we could also have the possibility to speak with the principal because we don't have that opportunity to do so they just allow us to write and you know in the community there's a lot of
015parents that you know how to write and they don't know how to read and so it is necessary that we can express in the way that I'm doing right now with you and that has not been facilitated all this time it has required it has been required of her to do this and also to give us the opportunity to be in person but she she has ignored us about this request and lastly but not the least I also request that there is a reincorporation of the teachers that were let go during the pandemic time thank you your time Monica arazola are you here Monica arazola thank you good morning everyone my name is Monica rasola and I am a mother of two uh students that go into the district as always I come here to
016ask for the police that I have 400 signatures I want to gather more but I have not had the time and the parents are asking me what is going on this is the fourth week that we have academically and I have not seen police around my school it is very important right now let's remember that September 14 that's when Melanie passed away due to an overdose drug overdose and I don't hope I don't want to be the second person that has to go like this the Deep pain that the mother went through and I hope that you take into account the request of 130 parents I want to gather more signatures but I have not had time to do so but I will gather more signatures and I hope that there's a large group of
017parents that come so that you can see that they also want the a police that is not just me it is a large group that is gathering so that our voice is heard because it's not it is not being heard and we are not seeing police inside of the school I come I go in the police go over and that it doesn't I feel safe because to be here because I know that somebody will not hit me or harm me here and it's the same thing in schools when our students can feel well when they go into school and that they um are that there's a review and that to feel safe that there's nothing going to happen and I hope that you take this into account and I also ask that please the pandemic
018stop it is time for our teachers to go back to the schools if they didn't get vaccinated they didn't get vaccinated my my husband was one of the people that was a lab rat to say um when the vaccine was being tested is something that was horrible a panic that we saw and my husband gave his life so he could be a lab rat everything well up to now we found better medicine better things so I think it's time that the teachers go back to the schools when we know that our students are very low academically and these teachers already have more experience so please have those teachers return to our schools and I thank you so much thank you so much thank you for your time Lucy Garcia I see her on the line
019Lucy Garcia please press star six to unmute yourself and you have three minutes to speak once you begin Lucy and Garcia hello good morning thank you for being here at this hour and thank you for the chance to speak to you um I'm talking about the climate literacy resolution and I want to inform everyone who who's here that it has not yet been fully implemented it needs division of instruction leadership teachers starting with the climate Champions only one at each School need more guidance from the division of instruction teachers need a little basic science more so basic comments in Social dimensions of climate Justice History Literature and more guidance and social emotional issues all subject coordinators in the division need to develop Core Concepts and benchmarks for teaching climate issues in their subject matter the
020contract signed by the district and the utla Spells out the duties of the climate Champs and says that there should be full implementation of this resolution but they still need more clarity we have a solution I'll talk about it later last in fact in one minute last year's efforts were very positive but inadequate to the task of the revolution of the resolution Transforming Our teaching of climate change to meet the scale and urgency of the crisis in the fall semester only 210 climate Champions were allowed to sign up out of a thousand schools with the idea of adding 200 more each each year four more years to complete this one provision of the resolution we we could comply with the utla contract by fully implementing it a third of the climate champions last year got
021their pay due to confusion less than half attended training schools which were not even required they loved them but they did say there was no Focus to the work there's a large schoology group at the district website but we know that membership in a schoology group does not mean you know how to teach climate this year's efforts are even more faltering and delayed now there is one person in charge a client part-time of the climate literacy resolution rollout to thirty thousand teachers and a half a million students he is an able educator and and coordinator but he is unsupported private education in the district can be accelerated by partnering with the leading National Climate education non-profit subject to climate features of their work include searchable all subjects and grades standards coordinated database teacher developed classes
022on climate change as well as materials for more than 50 of the leading developers of climate education all vetted for Science and pedagogy the database is much easier to use than the schoology group resources and the climate literacy page resources and with your support can be aligned to our standards in Los angeles-based issues subject to climate also has a set of asynchronous introductory classes for teachers of climate that can be ready almost immediately on the science and the social justice and cultural connections importantly they also have a process to educate cohorts of leading teachers to develop more local classes one idea is to tap the tree the creativity of the environmental justice organizations that are in students neighborhoods seven U.S states for three years now we invite all board members and staff to a meeting
023near the end of September to hear the presentation and demonstration of this Nimble precise and very reasonably priced organization thank you thank you for your time Erica Gonzalez I see you around the line Erica Gonzalez please press star six to mute yourself and you have three minutes to speak once you begin Erica Gonzalez okay you are not there now Norma Gonzalez Norma Gonzalez please press star six to meet yourself you have three minutes to speak once you begin Norma Gonzalez um good morning my name is Norma Gonzalez and I am a mother of four students that attend the LA Unified yes all the way to middle school and high school and the greatest concern is drugs that are there and the different challenges that the students have that also is a problem that is very
024great that puts them at risk and sometimes the administrator or the staff do not know how to manage the situation also the importance of that the police as that they they're integrated in the schools as well so that we as parents feel safer and that everything is well and that it's not something that we don't it's not meaning to militarize the school or anything like that but it's just a support so that our safety is complete and another very important topic is the vaccines the majority of the teachers the pandemic is over and I don't know why you don't uh lift this uh standard that hasn't makes no sense anymore our students are having problems because there are a lot of new teachers but they don't have the experience to be able to deal not
025only with children in elementary but also high school students so it is not to limit or making them making less of them of the new teachers but we do need are ones that are better trained and that are they're just for a requirement that should no longer exist now the parents also the parents want to serve as volunteers and because they don't have the requirement of That vaccine something that should not exist anymore they don't allow them to be volunteers so you should take into consideration the concerns of parents the teacher concerns that want to give their knowledge so that our students are able to meet their academic goals open the doors of the schools to the police so they can help us open the doors for teachers that have experience so that they can
026give us that knowledge and open the doors of us as parents so that we are able to continue working as a team together please pay attention thank you thank you for your time it looks like Erica Gonzalez is now on the line please press star six to unmute yourself and you'll have three minutes to speak once you begin Erica Gonzalez good morning I'm Erica Gonzalez and I just wanted to say that I'm one of the mothers that signed so that police can return to the schools it's very important that you please listen to our request because Friday another child died because he was sold pills and they contain Fentanyl and this cannot keep happening we need to protect the other students and those of us that are mothers are extremely concerned that our children may
027or may not be safe in school so that's why we're strongly asking that the police return thank you thank you for your time Matthew kogan are you here Matthew kogan come on up you have three minutes to speak once you begin I'll come collect that my name is Matthew Cogan I'm an ESL teacher at Evans Community adult school and the director for adult education for utla and I'm here to talk about um the problem of CTE teachers and their status right now all CT teachers both K-12 and Adult Ed are I think wrongly categorized as temporary the California Education Code 44910 says that if you work at a Ro Rock rope Center that your hours cannot be counted towards becoming permanent status but now LAUSD no longer participates in Regional occupational and programs program and
028so that obstacle in the Ed code no longer exists and teachers need to be treated as the rest of the Ed coach says now that that obstacle is no longer there now although my legal opinion is very good for other for an ESL teacher I provide you today with something from uh Bush Gottlieb Law Firm that also kind of spells out what the Ed coach says if we are no longer participating in rock rope and this is a good thing if we're going to do the best we can to have an occupational program uh CTE then we have to work hard to get the best teachers and try to keep them and it's an obstacle when they don't have the same rights when they often are just not given a contract a contract doesn't appear
029in their box at the end of the year I was just speaking yesterday to a CT teacher at easterly occupational and he's a construction teacher doing a a program in partnership with the Building Trades and Arc an anti-racidicism program and he says that he used to make a hundred and eighty thousand dollars and he decided the end of his career he wanted to give back and he wasn't complaining about that but I I bring up his former salary and take a two-thirds cut just to give you the idea of the challenges we have in getting people to change careers for lower pay and then there's one thing we can change more easily they need to have the same rights as other teachers and let me clear up some people say this is not a job
030for Life permits death this would mean they have the same rights as other teachers it does not in any way inhibit schools or LAUSD from making program choices they have unfettered ability if they decide to get rid of welding those teachers do not have a right for a job anymore they they can be let go with a with a rift letter A March 15th riff letter so that's we've heard that before but it's it's unfair they don't need Industries not changing so fast that they need they don't fire people mid-year um thank you very much for your time thank you for your time Ray Belial Ray Belial come on up you have three minutes to speak once you begin good morning board I'm Ray belisle biology and health teacher utility and utility chapter chair at
031Crenshaw High School item one mold mold is at our school in our library which is now red tagged item two elevators we need two elevators the north side elevator has not worked for years that's an ADA violation students and teachers and crutches struggle to get to their classes on the second and third floors students in wheelchairs have no access we need an elevator on the south side some of our students have medical conditions paramedics are called several times a week it takes too much time to reach the students too much energy to carry a fully loaded stair chair three flights down I smell a lawsuit item three classroom Plumbing the faucets in the chemistry classroom need to be repaired so water can be turned on to run experiments and we need chemicals how can students
032learn chemistry without chemicals item four safety concerns we need more campus aides and an effective discipline policy in place item five personnel for seven years now we've been short staffed of credential teachers we need teachers for biology math English music dance and a female PE teacher vacant positions are filled by substitutes which are violations of Williams versus State of California which mandates School District provide all public school students equal access to instructional materials safe and decent school facilities and qualified teachers instead of trying to save sea lions LAUSD needs to focus their attention on saving the thousands of students represented by mascots like the Crenshaw cougars the Audubon Eagles the Hawkins Hawks and the rest they're the ones stranded at sea without teachers they're the ones without access to their libraries and classrooms because of
033mold they're the ones who can't reach their education because elevators can't take them there our students are the ones whose Futures need saving save them thank you for your time [Applause] Betsy payevsky I see you're online with us Betsy payevsky please press star six to unmute yourself and you have three minutes to speak once you begin Betsy payevsky Betsy P I might be mispronouncing your name I see you're online just uh press star six to unmute yourself and you have three minutes to speak once you begin Miss uh Betsy can you speak into the mouthpiece a little bit more we can you're coming through very faintly oh okay can you hear me that's much better thank you oh hello okay yeah absolutely sorry about that um hi my name is Betsy pajevski and I am
034both a parent and a teacher of sustainability for high school students and I wanted to start by saying how proud I am of uh this board for passing the climate resolution the climate literacy resolution um and how instrumental it'll be to help with climate change and I wanted to take a moment to say that now that we have this climate resolution every child deserves climate education I'm calling today to ask the board to also Implement and put money behind this resolution to make sure that it is funded properly it is now time to fund and to match the vision that was created by the resolution teachers need more guidance from division of instruction option teachers aren't need a very basic science the contract signed by the District of utla spells out the duties for the
035climate Champions but they still need more clarity last year's efforts um were positive but they need to have more information and they need to have a more urgency to be able to Implement these Solutions the climate education in the district can be accelerated by participating in the leading National by helping with national nonprofits subject to climate change is a great example and the climate curriculum committee has found excellent resources that such as the subject to climate that are worth implementing in the school district to help the teachers to be able to create this program and make it a success thank you for your time okay the next caller Lucine kirikosian are you on the line Lucine Kira kosian and please press star six to unmute yourself then you have three minutes to speak once you
036begin Lucine hello can you hear me yes we can great good morning board my name is Lucifer kosyan I'm a mother of three and part of an organization advocating on behalf of parents and teachers who want age-appropriate curriculum and to put an end to the indoctrination we are seeing in our schools it's very ironic how LAUSD schools are training their teachers to watch out for groomers when the union is specifically asking the teachers to groom the kids so the very people the parents need to be aware of are the teachers that you're forcing to groom the kids over six districts across the state have already passed parental notification policy which states they will notify the parents within three days if the child has asked to go by a different name on campus a different pronoun
037Etc however when we asked Kelly Gomez during a private meeting we had with her she said there is no way I will add that to the agenda as it's illegal news flash Ms conez even though this is now the third board meeting you've missed and that's the one job you have is to attend these meetings and represent the parents that you voted for Miss Gomez it's actually illegal to keep secrets from parents Walter Reed Middle School which is where I graduated from in 2002 is actively socially transitioning kids as we speak Madison Middle School has a rainbow club during lunch hours that recruits kids by saying if you join our club we won't record the fact that you were late to homeroom today and you do this Madison being one of them but it's happening
038all across LAUSD because anything that's done during lunch hours technically doesn't have to be part of the curriculum we know the tactics that you're using but what are these tactics that you're using to push this agenda why are you turning the kids against the parents you know what's dangerous in causing an epidemic in our youth suicide because you've chosen to keep the parents out of the picture parents have a Divine and god-given right to our kids parents are not dangerous 98 of parents are loving and caring and only want the best for their kids you are using the two percent under the guidance sense of abuse which we already have services in place for those parents called Child Protective Services in DCFS which will take care of them in a heartbeat to then punish the
03998 that are suffering because of things that you choose not to pass I'm here today advocating on thousands of parents asking for you to consider placing parental notification as a policy asking you to consider the tactics that you're using to indoctrinate our kids asking you to put our kids academics and the curriculum as a Forefront rather than everything else that you're choosing to do I'm so glad there were parents today that spoke asking for police to come back because that's one of the reasons why we're seeing this epidemic as well which is all the violence and the fights and the stabbings that we see in our high schools on a daily basis consider all the wrongs that you've done and make it right we are paying for this the citizens and the taxpayers are paying
040for these services and you've chosen to abuse each and every one of them you are doing a disservice to our next generation thank you for your time uh manuk Gregorian are you here in person my new Gregorian come on up you'll have three minutes to speak once you begin good morning could I start already I would like to take this minute to honor all the innocent lives that were lost in September 11 2001. please join me and stand up if you want to honor this Fallen Souls on September 11 2001. may God guide their souls to Heavenly Kingdom and may He find a place in heaven for all the souls in Jesus name I pray amen um my name is manuk Gregorian and I'm a proud father of four beautiful daughters attending LAUSD sarikoi Elementary
041School precise um this board has many times slapped its hand on the table and called us parents a hateful message or hateful group or a bigots or extremists or terrorists on June 2nd a protest in front of satikoi Elementary School the parents were the ones who got attacked by antifa and the Communist party and there are the ones who are always destructive and disrespectful from everybody and the school board president slapped her hand on the table saying that we are extremists in a hateful group on August 22 second again the school board president slapped her hand on the table called us a extremist in a hateful group with a hateful message when in fact antifa and the Communist Party attacked the LAPD and got arrested for that but yet the parents were the ones who
042are called an extremist ambiguous and hateful I am here to ask you not to call us any of that name because we are the ones who are respectful we are not the ones who are pushing any bad hateful message like saying that to America or dead to Christianity we are not the ones who are trying to burn Flags but the people who are fighting against us they are the ones who are trying to burn Flags but yet we are the one I have a video when a man says I will burn your flag and I was defending that flag and yet I have board members sitting here who were standing in front of behind the antifa when antifa was even showing the middle finger just right now even showing the middle of finger being just
043respectful all I'm asking from the board have respect for parents and all we're asking for honestly I'm a very Hands-On dad with my children I go everywhere with my children I do everything with my children am I such a bad guy for asking me keep me informed whatever happens to me and my children at school the school has six hours Miss Gomez to take care of my children don't you think seven hours don't you think I deserve the right to know what's happening to my children in school I mean I'm a father who cares for his children and I deserve to know everything that happens to my children in school and all I'm asking keep me informed thank you I'm not asking nothing more nothing less thank you very much thank you God bless you
044all Leticia Miller are you here Leticia Miller coming up you'll have three minutes to speak once you begin Miss Leticia Miller all right I'll come collect that stuff and hand it out good morning my name is Leticia Miller I'm a Career Technical education teacher at Gardena High School and I'm here today to talk to you about permanent status I've had the privilege of teaching graphic design for the last 18 years I am the Lead Teacher for gardena's Creative Arts Academy and the committee chair for CTE teachers at utla my background was the United States Army Reserve and was working for the largest printing company in the United States when I began teaching I had a vision of a space where students could see learn and understand the process of design from start to finish I
045was given a small room of computers and I began I was fortunate to find the Carl D Perkins Grant which enabled me to upgrade my classroom computers I wanted students to have technology software and skills that would encounter that they would encounter when they applied for graphic design positions students took the curriculum and began to thrive we implemented student certifications which further builds student ability and confidence in 2016 I was awarded a million dollars through the Career Technical education incentive Grant and I was able to design a studio which was completed in 2019 students are receiving certifications internships job shadowing opportunities and more they're being introduced to Industry Partners in our respective Industries and they're being given an understanding of the necessity of academic content through linked learning and how it ties to any career
046they choose high schools are building small learning communities and academies around CTE programs students who have dropped out who would have dropped out otherwise are graduating going out into the workforce or on the higher education because of CT CTE and CTE teachers the district changed their directive to College and Career CTE teachers are making those connections for the students and high schools students are staying in school because of our programs I have done all this on a temporary limited year-to-year contract for the last 18 years I am not alone I did it because I see their faces I see and I hear their fears and I show them that they are more than they think they are and they can do more than they think they can high schools and districts see the benefit and
047the results of Career Technical education in secondary why do they not see the people who make it possible we're looking for permanent status and are asking for you to help us find the pathway to it thank you for your time thank you for your time [Applause] I see you're signed up to speak remotely but I do not see you online and I do not see you in the room Mr Juan mangandi I see you're here come on up you'll have three minutes to speak once you begin and folks on the audience uh Mr mangaldi is going to speak in Spanish and if you'd like to hear what he's saying in the moment that he's saying it simultaneous translation please put your hands up and you can listen in with these headsets in English system here
048okay and I'm a parent and friend of all Turners and since young they we are taught what to believe and we are obligated to believe it and one determined point we criticize what has been imposed in our belief system converted into problematic people and sometimes people that have fallen out of adaptation with real life things that have been told to us Allah where parents aren't allowed to understand or know what's going on in school and a child is pressured Little People induced to reflect on their sexuality and the parent is no none the wiser of what's going on and it seems like there is a Gestapo if there's any confession or Declaration towards the child this is a violation against human rights for children and us as adults and another thing is that I think
049that every child has the right to reserve their theirselves and told they have common sense and a sense of self to know and no until they know what they want to do with their lives we're not against anyone against Identity or belief systems we are in favor that the children need a process of maturation we don't need to pressure it in any way another thing is security the schools it's a disaster there is so many fights going on and all of you here are only seeing the world from your comfort zone you are not walking the schools the schools look like trash cans and you are not enforcing the parents are enforcing the public audiences because Green Card situations and they're doing a lot of things that are not supposed to be happening so we
050have a lot of police that are mascots they are decoration because you've taken away and they're fun for what to give to a bunch of organizations that at the end take advantage and live like parasites because they're not capable to serve the community so they go to the schools to obtain numbers and say that they're doing work in the communities it's a called a fraud the organizations that obtain these monies have to serve the communities if not how are we going to see then that these communities are declining especially African-American and Latino communities nothing's happening and you guys are giving these funds and opening the doors to these schools so that a bunch of people can go in that we don't know without a background check without a decency check all you care is about
051these political interests and that is the greatest big problem there is because we're going to create a bigger problem and here we're closing our eyes to what's really going on that's our greatest problem and those of us that learn are humiliated and are told that we are terrorists because we're saying something you don't want to hear have a great day thank you Anna Vasquez Anna Vasquez are you here Anna Vasquez Ana Vazquez are you here okay uh folks we have some folks from tab one who showed up late on the line zodiac Rose for uh that looks like tab one zodiac Rose if you're on the line please press star six to unmute yourself and you have three minutes to speak once you begin zodiac Rose I see you're on the line hi this is
052okay go ahead you have three minutes to speak once you begin oh I'm sorry do you wanna so you're cool if your phone's still on there might be feedback that's okay I turned it off okay you have three minutes to speak I'm ready for it as a queer individual in America who actually was raised in Texas um I was a student in one of the most hateful schools in America I grew up trying to learn my queer identity and Exist by myself my mom knew what I was doing and she still was hateful she would shove me into closets she would push me around and she had munchausen's by proxy she believed that my queer identity was the sickness that she could cure with medication I was on massive amounts of amphetamines and I was
053not able to survive as a queer individual she put she allowed me finally to be on hormone Stoppers because I was trying to kill myself on a weekly basis what these parents are asking for is suicide with these parents are asking for is to kill us as a queer individual I have existed freely when I came here to California I noticed the hate in this country and I wanted to do something I noticed that there was an existence of hatred and I only wanted love as a person who finds love in their hearts through existing as a human being it is not okay to stop us from what we are doing hormone Stoppers did literally nothing to me my testosterone scores are at 560 and I have plenty of arm hair on my body I
054choose to shave my legs because it's in my gender identity because I am a two-spirit queer person I did not know what true Spirit was until I came out to California because I was heavily colonized by my white mother who adopted me from Mexico she did not let me learn my queer identity because I was existing as nearly a human being and I didn't know what it was to be queer what these parents are asking for is colonization and homophobia transphobia and hatred they're asking to shut us down they're asking to kill us we will find ways to kill us no matter what I need existence I need peace I need love these children are just asking to survive it's not about going away from your lunch break what are you doing during your lunch
055break yes fentanyl is a problem I went to an art school later on where I existed as a queer individual freely but there was drugs rampant everywhere I had to carry Narcan in my pocket every single day it was about my queer identity it was about the fact that when I wanted to party because I hated myself because I was still trying to exist with my hatred at home with these hateful parents that I would use substances and I would have to test them I am five years sober I acknowledge my existence I love myself today but hormone Stoppers did nothing for me they just stopped the process so I could believe how to think so I could exist thank you for your time under Tab 2 Personnel rosalba Villanueva I see her online please

058common sense to me why would you tell us that we shouldn't have intimate knowledge of what is happening with our children why would anyone try to get in the way of that well that's what the state's been doing in California to issue guidance to the school district saying you can enter into these gender support plans and transition kids at school and you're not allowed to tell their parents so what we did here in California is we drafted a policy that says no we're not going to keep secrets not only we're not going to keep secrets we're going to have an affirmative duty to inform parents because they have a right to know why do you think it's gotten to this why do you think that believe that it is their duty to keep it secret
059about another parent's child from them Miss Vasquez were really having trouble hearing your video the next generation of Americans is it the government or is it their parents and I really believe that this is an effort to pierce that relationship between the parent and the child is it possible to have each person identify themselves before they're speaking because we can't have any way of knowing who's speaking right now um okay we're just hearing several voices so there might be a communication error with your phone oh it's the new segment so it's the news anchor interviewing an assembly members I'm sorry just for the sake of technical Clarity you're playing an interview segment correct like I stated by news organizations all over the country pretty much um am I allowed to play it please proceed I

061seconds and you said you add another 30 seconds so that brings me to a minute of 15 seconds is there a way to just simply restart my time since I was interrupted I I mentioned in the beginning that it was going to be a new segment um and so I was interrupted so I'd like to play my run my run my time exactly out you know I wanted to do it you interrupted me and we just restarted my three minutes and it really it's just hasn't really been an ongoing speech you interrupted me is there a way that I can restart my three minutes please thank you very much for your time okay that concludes public comment um we're now going to recess into closed session The Time Is Now 10 a.m and uh when
