008the pta there's anyone here from pta tonight no one's here and so we'll move on to 13 which is staff board acknowledgements announcements and reports and anyone we start with with you tonight if you have any acknowledgements announcements sure so um i was so excited to see alejandra's play last week i went on opening night and our very own coder was fantastic and it was so fun and it was so great to see people in live theater and having a great time and it was so wonderful to be back on campus um and kothar i'm pretty sure you do everything because i also saw you on saturday morning at starbucks working so i don't know how you have time for all of these things but i'm very very impressed and i was really excited to
009be a part of that so hopefully lots of community members were able to see that and then as a reminder we have an mef um martinez foundation looking for some new members so if that's something that's interesting to any parents or community members out there the best way to reach us would be support martinez.org and we're going to welcome people who might be interested to our regular meeting in april to kind of get to see what we're all about so hopefully we'll see some new faces there thank you how are you courtney yeah i went to see the um the brothers from spectacular close up okay on saturday night also it was so much fun you did a great job everyone did a great job and i was saying something similar to my friend that
010went with me um that our our student board member is amazing and she must not sleep because she does do everything so well done carlos just a couple recognitions one of the teachers for the upcoming community nights and putting it all together and a lot of them have been trying to get this all figured out and i'm so commend them for making it happen for the parents and the communities also wanted to recognize a lot of our community businesses and just community members amount of money and effort that's being donated to the programs to the sites i believe uh home depot just donated six thousand dollars put towards the all handwritten facilities so they're just a great showing and there's all the banners up at the knolls field a lot of uh support for our
011athletics so shout out to community members thank you so uh i just wanted to say that we had a huge success with the brothers from spectacular and we had four dates wednesday through saturday and a lot of people came and showed support so thank you all for coming it was very fun to practice with everyone and this is a great show and then i just wanted to also add that this sunday there's the brickyard the annual birthday run which is a fundraiser to support the cross-country team for the high school and i believe it starts at 7 30 am so please come and support we need your help great thank you um well i wanted to recognize the alhambra high school black student union they were here a couple weeks ago and they did have
012their kickback a couple weeks ago on a sunday it was a really great community event they had a lot of representation of the al hamer community but also a lot of teachers from our districts came to to support them and i thought that was really neat there's a really neat cross section of folks who came to this pretty intimate event and [Music] we had some community speakers and shared some art music so congratulations to them for having uh this first event really talked to us about and i have been advised if they're going to keep us in the loop of all the different things that they're planning uh either for the rest of the spring and obviously for the upcoming school year as well i also wanted to recognize a former musd teacher community member
013she's a parent and volunteer also a pretty active community member tina wong davetta i wanted to give her a shout out and congratulations for being recognized by congressional member mike thompson as the fifth congressional district woman of the year for 2022 for contra costa county so congratulations to her and with that i will turn it over to you helen for the superintendent's report thank you um a quick coveted update um the county office the county superintendents meeting last week numbers are relatively flat they continue to decrease as anything as you know on march 15th our gardens change our students are strongly recommended to wear masks and students and staff and those that choose to are and those that choose to are not um it hasn't seemed to me much of a difference in the number
014of cases thus far there's no change even though we have changes to the masking requirements there's no physical distancing um we do still have to make sure that all of our employees are either vaccinated or testing weekly that has not changed so that rule is still in effect [Music] exposed students can continue to take part in all aspects of k-12 schooling including sports and extracurricular activities unless they develop symptoms and the cdc has put out a quarantine and isolation calculator which we'll put the link on our website so if you are exposed or if you test positive you answer the questions it will tell you exactly how long you have to isolate your quarantine before um alhambra scholarship alpha high school scholarship night on may 23rd will be held outdoors on those fields instead of
015inside the pap there will be just standing room only eighth to ninth grade orientation is on may 13th at alhambra our fifth to sixth orientation parents and parents of fifth grade students and our fifth grade students will be invited to their community event on may 5th and the web orientation for the sixth grade students only will be on august 4th the lcap meeting we had last week it was actually the second in our series but the first that renee um lopez our director of head services facilitated it focused on data that could be used for a graduate profile we had some really good discussions and at the next meeting on april 13th is that correct april 13th we will be creating the actual graduate profile sweat had held its construction meeting last thursday several neighbors
016and families attended this informational meeting where questions and concerns were addressed mostly about traffic flow and alaha high school will have their schedule for 2223 out and post it on the website as soon as the um mba unit reviews the times to make sure that everything is correct all right thank you thanks helen and i just wanted to um kind of circle back that may 23rd date it's usually we don't have we usually don't have it on that week right the scholarship the recognition awards for our seniors so is that different this year yes we're having it on monday instead of the week before so that we can have it outside um usually the pab is jam-packed and people are standing and it's hot and sweaty and inside the air conditioning so we are having
017the chairs delivered early on monday so that we can host it outside where we need to be comfortable [Music] okay because then we have three graduations promotions the next the next three days yes tuesday is by sunday wednesday is the junior high and thursday this time all right busy week out there okay number 14 is public comments under government code section 549-5413 members of the public have the right to address the board on any matter within the board's jurisdiction however the board may not take action on any non-agenda items individual speakers are allowed three minutes and 20 minutes are allowed for this portion of the agenda if additional time is needed uh we will hear the remaining comments if you add an item at the end of our meeting are there any public comments this
018evening seeing none we will move on to the consent calendar and make a note that we won't need the additional time at the end of this meeting uh helen you talked about having uh oh is there well no no not first okay um you said there are some changes to the consent calendar yes we've added 15.5 an alhambra high school overnight field trip skills usa state championships are being held in ontario um california at the convention center and mr brian wheeler our auto teacher and brianna barnes our sportsmed rop teacher teacher are taking a group of eight students down to compete in the state championships and that will be on april 21st and returning on april 24th and they'll be traveling some are going to apply some are going to drive with their parents and
019private vehicles thank you are there any questions for the board about any consent items i was just going to ask helen if you can um can you just tell us a little bit more about 15 to the grant okay 15 to be okay clean fields transportation um actually was a grant that mr wheeler uh applied for um and received it's a 55 000 grant and it will fund [Music] curriculum and materials to support clean energy vehicles and so students will be able to have access the teacher will be trained in how to do the mechanics on these vehicles and then we'll in turn train the students and they have advice certain machinery in order to be able to do that so the grant covers all of that great things it just sounded like something cool
020that we should help thank you for telling us any other more questions any public comments on this action item right uh bring it back to the board for uh action student vote i uh full board all in favor aye opposed extensions motion carry uh 16.1 is the adc grant it's an action item presented by renee lopez so tonight i'm bringing back the a3g completion improvement grant for an action item and the a3g completion improvement grant program will provide additional supports to help increase the number of students who graduate with apg all eligibility are there any questions from the board we do have a public comment on this linda aloe vera good evening board members and staff um lindell barrow from martinez i've been here before a lot of you know me already um i had
021a question i did look at the attachments that went with 16.1 and i was looking at the statistics you want to turn to this page or um the school district atg completion data and i was noticing um that didn't do very well i don't think um for a percentage that completed and i noticed that for i'm assuming that these are just seniors correct me if i'm wrong the 329 and that 47.3 percent completed and for the english learners is 22.7 and for the socioeconomically spanish is 33.6 so for the latter two significantly lower than the statistics on all the students and um what i'd like to get from you at some point is the ethnic breakdown [Music] of the 47.3 percent students that did complete is that anywhere to be found right now that i
022can look at on the website if you've got public comment we can also um circle back and uh we can have uh ms lopez can reach out to you after with your specific comments okay great um yeah well so that was the concern that i have with the ethnic breakdown and also i'd also like to get i know there's separations that go on during the year i'd also like to get a breakdown ethnic breakdown of the separations and the reasons for the separations [Music] thank you all right and renee do you do you have a contact information can arrange for maybe an email address okay um so i'll have you follow up with renee and send her an email with those questions and she can circle back i'll give that information are there any other
023public comments on this agenda item so who is saying none will bring it back to the board for action unless there's further discussion do we have a motion move to approve item 16.1 a second [Music] abstentions motion carried 16.2 is review and approval of the revised job description which is the post-coordinator this is an information impossible action and it's presented tonight by suzanne murphy welcome thank you and good evening so back in october the post coordinator position was approved as a part-time position at the adult school with the increased qualifications for a post coordinator we would like to increase the potential applicant pool by making the position a classified position this is a program supervisory role and the point of and the point of contact for post since the position does not require a california
024teaching credential it is by default classified the position has been vetted by personnel and meets requirements for a classified position so i'm asking tonight for the board approval based on this information i mean and um just a quick question since we do have it for information possible um is there is there a certain level of expediency to um moving forward on this yes we have it's been vacant we have a few applicants that we would like to move forward and this is kind of where we're at is trying to get this reclassified as a classified position so that we can meet poor with the candidate any other more questions so do i recall correctly that what we were saying talked about in october was it a credential position at that time or what was the
025change that's about the changes yeah so it was listed as a credential that really it doesn't it doesn't need to be it's a program supervisory role the person really works on behalf of making sure the regulations for posts are adhered to it's not a teaching position so it makes it easier to fill with all the other qualifications that now post requires for the position so we're expanding our the pool of applicants yes yes any other questions how does the salary range compare we're not changing it we we when i came in in october we kept at 50 to 55. we're not changing that just changing the rules from credential to class and it's still hourly it's still on the time card it's still parts any other questions any public comment on this okay um so
026first off uh do we have three shakes in the head to move this for a possible action or is there a discussion uh about timing i see shaking of the heads because we have three and so to make it action do we have a motion um sorry my my component is being weird i will uh move to approve isis [Music] and this is just a qualification so we can have a student vote student hi uh full award all in favor [Music] opposed extensions it's kerry thank you thank you yes 16.3 is approval of a new job description for a special education teacher on special assignment this is an information item and presented by janelle ayotte good evening tonight i'm reading forward you know the job description for your consideration is information only um for a
027position of a special education or teacher on special assignment the role of this um individual will be to support collaboration implementation of research-based practices and build teacher capacity specifically in the area of literacy the tosa will provide technical assistance new coaching and support implementation of curriculum and instruction through co-teaching modeling lessons planning lessons and implementing research-based instructional strategies how long are we anticipating having this position sorry this is a temporary position that we um are proposing to use uh special education of our recovery grant money that we've received so it's a one-time position for this 22-23 school year [Music] does this position just float amongst the sites or is it is it where's the headquarters it will be based in the district office and we'll be supporting all the school sites primarily elementary and households
028and how long does um how long do we have the learning recovery grant available for this position um i believe it expires in 2024 so to two school years this school we have this school year and next then the next school year and i think it expires in the beginning of the next year so we're talking about the 20 22 23 20 30 24 okay so two full school years we would have it budgeted for this particular position no this position we're only right now we're talking about full run position based on the budget so one count so one calendar year okay [Music] are there along those lines are there plans if we feel like we're seeing real progress and this is a good use of funds and we're seeing that it's doing what it
029what it's supposed to be doing um or is there a potential to extend it another year what we do when we um have these temporary positions and we feel like there's benefit to it we bring back those conversations so that we'll have for example and is this the position that we would be um looking at to support our outcome goals and it would be functioning [Music] and this is for curriculum that's already developed within they're not recreating or creating their own it's just uh correct implementing current curriculum we are looking for someone who has specific training and experience in delivering the curriculum um and then so that they are able to provide that coaching and uh teachers who are just learning and maybe have just been training but how to get a moment of the
030curriculum in the classrooms to support that any other more questions and do we have any public comment on this um just really quickly um i wonder how we're going to measure the effectiveness of the program which is something i always ask when we do these things um i think any way we can support our departments is great because fed has been in very very red land for a long time and so if this is going to support our kids and our teachers and being able to be more effective with them i think that's great but um i would like to see some sort of measurement um done now that if it's going to be approved so that we can see where this money's you know uh going and how much money that we bought um
031any other further discussion of the board it's just uh this is just an information item i'm trying to think do we ever bring back you know what we'll just bring this back for a regular item instead of putting it on the consent calendar i don't think yeah okay we'll bring it back at the next meeting okay um thanks janelle uh 16.4 is approval of the 2020 2021 annual bond financial audit report uh for the martinez unified school district measure k and measure r this is an action item presented by alan rossi so tonight i'm going to present the audit findings for both measure k and measure r performed by christy white and associates um heather was here at our last board meeting and is not going to make it up this week so she sent
032me information to present um for the board to see and to hopefully approve this evening so our bond oversight committee meets twice a year once in around october and the other somewhere in april we will be setting that meeting very shortly and that committee we always have openings on the committee and i will post on our website exactly what the openings are this year but we're a small group and we meet twice a year to review our projects review notices of completion change orders and actual budgets for both measure r and measure pay which is almost completed and each year the auditors take a look at not only our expenditures and our revenues and how we spend the money but at our meetings and and our notes to make sure that we're in clients maybe
033this will work i don't know so on both the measure r and measure k there are two different audits the district received an unmodified opinion is the best opinion you can get they found no deficiencies everything seemed to line up the way it was supposed to and um congratulations to the business office and on staff and for making sure that everything was in order so what they do during when they do the audit they do an analysis they compare historical budgets with current budgets um industry results to look for anything that stands out as abnormal they review our bank reconciliations with the county treasury they confirm accounts they test year-end cutoffs they look at documents to make sure that we recorded them directly or correctly and they take a look at all of our transfers
034and our transactions and our signature reports which is a big job for the business department to get them all the documentation they require but a big job for christie to go through for to roll for two months actually and so um what they do is uh their objectives are to make sure that we're in a straight and narrow and make sure that everything is transparent and written up as such in our audits which are available online this is like post them if they get approved tonight and so these were the tests that they performed they did uh measure k they looked at about 218 thousand dollars of non-personnel expenditures because there aren't any personal expenditures there's there's just over a half a million dollars left in there some of which we'll be using for some
035safety projects over the summer um at uh alejandra high school in terms of their track and their uh tennis points um for right now and then they um took a look at six million dollars of expenditures um including personnel because as you know our bond product coordinator and our facility support specialists are partially each partially funded from the bond as well as one administrative secretary who takes care of all the budget transfers and pos they do a report on performances in so far as our internal controls we have no significant deficiencies no material weaknesses and again an unmodified opinion which is shows that the district's in compliance with all of the requirements for the bonds as listed and tested so tonight we're asking the board to approve the audit both audits as as they stand
036great congratulations and big thank you to our business office and on your whole team getting another very good report card so thank you for that um any more questions on this item any public comments well uh this will bring it back this is an action item uh do we have a motion i'm going to approve [Music] abstentions motion carry thank you uh 16.5 is a superintendent vacancy uh we have uh an action item tonight uh with regard to the former [Music] march 14th i missed the whole whole month actually at the march 14th meeting the board asked to have an agenda item for the purpose of putting together a board subcommittee in regards to the superintendent's search and so tonight i'm agendizing and i'm handing it over to board president to take them here great
037thank you um so i think just for clarification we weren't we weren't necessarily putting together a subcommittee for a search we're putting a subcommittee to help us navigate what we need to do and then report back to the board um so um as we discussed we do have some constraints based on um what we can discuss not here in the board room and obviously we want to make sure that we are able to gather community input so my understanding when we left was that um there was sort of a consensus that we wanted to reach out to our public um either in the form of a survey or something um and we wanted to do that at the direction of um or at least putting a couple heads together uh so to form a subcommittee
038of two uh to tackle some of these issues and then get that information back to us um we have as a board have to do the work um and certainly uh that's that's uh something that we need to take uh off the plate of our interim superintendent at this point so i'll turn it over to whoever wants to start the discussions um about being on the subcommittee starting i think what i took my take away from the discussion from the community group last last meeting was a solicitation of you know a survey of getting gathering information and gathering feedback um but at the same time having some visible presence on what's called was it uh open forum or um [Music] thank you some sort of town hall which i know we could not all participate
039in but if we my thought is if we can have some sort of survey collect thoughts and feedback from the community uh identify separated into the major categories and then have a town hall to discuss it address it and get feedback or provide feedback and then we can kind of move forward with how that's going to provide direction improving community [Music] yeah i think that's that was my understanding also um i think that it's one thing to keep in mind when we're creating a subcommittee is that we hope to have a superintendent last um well a bit of time a couple of years or hopefully much longer um and the nature of the board is that we are having to you know run for reelection and we don't always know who's going to be on
040the board so um i would go ahead and suggest that courtney be a member on the subcommittee as she is not up for her she is not at this time so we know that she will be here beyond november 2022 so i think that's helpful in selecting a new superintendent getting this feedback and moving forward with that so i would nominate courtney to be on the subcommittee i'm okay with that you will be here press then too but you're volunteering me noted okay i'm also happy to serve does that make the most sense i mean to have you too i mean i'm one i'm not dying to sit on another committee and i've certainly spent plenty of time um you know dealing with this issue and i don't think we're we're not leaving the subcommittee
041to make decisions um we're shouldering you with a lot of a lot of work um and um i think at the i think at least what i would like is to um have a way to the two of you if that's okay i mean i'm just what we're going to talk about because we actually have to take action but whoever's on the subcommittee um to draft the questions uh and get the survey out i don't know if we want to bring it back to the board or if they want to just give you the uh you know go send out some questions so we get more feedback more quickly um maybe one of those questions are do you do we need to have a public forum because we do have public meetings uh we could
042have a certain time i know we have done that in the past on issues i don't know if we've probably done it on a bond or um when we're doing the master facility and planning we would do it before board meeting we sometimes i know we did them at the high school sometimes and we just have our regular coordinating after that and there are ways to not have to do a full sit-down meeting but we also can all be a part of it if it's agendized and we give notice to the public so that might be something that we could depending on what the feedback is we can talk as a board you know as far as the next step um or what do we want to do so um that's my thought um as
043far as timing and i i'm not intending to volunteer unless unless i have i'm happy to do that with courtney if that's it sounds like opting out something like that and i've no problem with doing that in the ring and uh obviously this is whether on the board or not i'm going to be in the district with you know little ones for the next you know quite a few years so it's uh obviously this is personal to me as well so um and maybe a little more balanced uh you know with me on there but i you know as far as gender uh uh phrase that correctly but but uh you know bringing to balance some perspectives um so i'm over to somebody maybe the reading as well all right um so so we do
044need to do a subcommittee um we need to have two people uh do you want to use wanna open it up for public comments and then we'll come bring it back for discussion all right we do have uh one uh speaker tonight uh good evening again um i spoke on that issue about a month ago i think um wanting to know what the selection process is going to be and to identify myself from linda um from martinez um and getting some of my questions answered right now just by all of you discussing this because i was curious that you were going to make i was going to request that you made public who was going to be on the subcommittee i didn't know that it would consist of board members now i know um so
045it says here that this subcommittee is forming to create opportunities for community input [Music] i'm wondering if you would also make that public what opportunities you would create and i'm saying this so that you can get the community input on on this process and so the main question i have right now is didn't we have a contractor that was hired for the last time that we selected a super intended okay someone answered that and so this is a different okay so the answer is yes okay so then my question is is this a different process this time where there will not be a contractor hired to oversee this process because that that contractor last time in the process that they went through was excellent and they did they went way out of their way to
046include community input um and so i'm just wondering um on those on on if if you are planning to hire a contractor can somebody answer that for me right now or not well again and i just just out of clarification when we ask for a public comment it's just comment so we're not obligated to respond but i understand we have a small meeting um but we need a subcommittee we're limited by the brown act and to do this type of hiring and it's it's um we can't do everything in public uh but we also have to do a lot of things in public uh and we can't have the full board making decisions and discussions outside of public when it's supposed to be based on the brown act so this committee is going to form
047in whatever fashion and then is going to help us make some of these decisions with community input that's the that's sort of the driving force behind the subcommittee so that we can have members work together and decide the best way for us to gather community input so i don't at this point there hasn't been any decisions made uh as to whether or not we're going to engage another outside provider if we're going to use an internal candidate we're waiting to get to the point where we can talk to our stakeholders and gather their input and filter it back to us okay good i would hope that part of that community would include the tasks that was another question i had and i think right now is an appropriate time to ask it about the task
048force or condition whichever way you call it one anti-racism and anti-discrimination that you have with the board um is that something i should ask about during the next public comment that might work that might work toward that um but you're always welcome to address us if you have specific questions um you can you can contact board members directly via emails really easy as well as any of our staff i was looking just for an update on on that committee commission because i haven't seen any i thought i was part of the community part of it but i don't even think there is a community part of it anymore i don't know but it's a good idea to go through my board member and get some of those questions answered so okay i'll do that thank
049you okay is there any other comment all right um so we're moving it to the board for action [Music] um any further discussion okay so i will say that my schedule is really crazy in the next couple of weeks so if you have capacity to do this annie i would defer to you however i'm happy to make i will make time if i need to so um i'm gonna i'm gonna put you on the hot seat and you decide whether you want it to be you or me no no no no that's totally fine i um and we need two more months yeah so yeah i'm hearing carlos say yeah he would like to be one of them okay and so um do you want to make a motion for uh carlos and annie to
050do our subcommittee you're okay with that okay all right i i moved to have carlos and annie be our subcommittee for item 16.5 [Music] opposed abstentions okay so we have a subcommittee uh thank you to carlos and annie for taking on this task um we'll let you guys figure out your meeting schedule um and we will look forward to having a report by one of you from both of you at our next board meeting as to what the next steps are going to be i think i think without jeremy here um we probably if you have some proposed questions and i know we have an ability to provide questions that were asked in previous searches which might be a starting place at least to help draft and to see you know how many we um
051we sent out and then maybe a couple different methods of contacting our stakeholders uh going forward and kind of a plan for us and then we'll go from there that would be great so thank you uh all right did i cover up do we cover everything we're supposed to so all right uh 16.6 is the authorization to join education technology joint powers authority which is resolution 2022-16 and this is an information item presented by amir [Music] in order to get the best pricing for the technology needs we are proposing that the industry joined the edtech gpa or to need to meet with communities [Music] it actually gives us the power to negotiate the contracts with the vendors what they do they actually have some templates to evaluate and categorize the vendors and rank them based
052off the pricing and we can go from there and they do a negotiation behind the scene and they charge their vendors so there there are a group of school districts in this area that are all across the state but in this area there are some as well that are part of this jpa and together um we do our purchasing together so that our prices are less expensive than if we went out on our own there's no cost to join the jpa and the the fees are paid by the vendors to the jpa for having custody instead is there any penalty if we decide that we don't want to be a part of this organization through 2026. no 30 days notice i believe yes it doesn't seem to be any downside all right i have no
053other questions i'll open it up for public comments any public comment all right we're going back to the board um is there any further discussion uh otherwise since this is an information item uh my recommendation that we put in on the consent calendar uh for the next meeting or is that okay with everyone all right uh so we'll bring it back and put one consent 16.7 is martinez unified school district 457b deferred compensation plan it's resolution 2022-17 an information item also presented by alan ross we had an employee a new employee come and pass us request us to add um american fidelity to the assurance company to our list of 457b providers um in order to do that we have to pass the resolution inside the contract with them we use american fidelity for our
054403b already we just don't have them online for our 457s we just had a couple of [Music] companies in that area so because we use them already and we know they're solid and the employee is requesting it we're requesting the board to prove the resolution to make it happen any more questions public comment right this is an information item i cannot suggest if there's no further discussion that we put this on our consent calendar when it comes back at our next regular meeting are we okay with that all right we will do that um one second all right um so this um so we're done which are comments from superintendent board members um and future agenda items and helena turn that over to you kick us off [Music] i apologize i should have put it
055in my update but the state has given us a two-pack coded test for every student in the district and every staff member the students have been delivered to sites the staff will be delivered this week and they are suggesting that we test our children and ourselves on thursday with one of the tests in the box and then again on sunday before returning just as a precaution to [Music] you know stay home if you're positive and to keep the spread of the virus down so those will be coming out this week all right um do you have any other uh further comments i did not okay carlos just wish everyone a happy spring break and the follow-up on helen one thing to highlight with those uh the coveted tests and for people who have some left
056over from whenever they got they do expire they do go bad so it's one thing to you know [Music] i do and this is um something that i wish i had touched on at our last meeting um there was a comment during public comment that i had concerns about i heard from several parents after that meeting and talked and met with several [Music] have concerns that their lgbtq students are not safe and supported at school and um i share their concerns i also noted that at our february 14th meeting the black student union told us that they frequently hear racially insensitive jokes at school and that concerned me also we passed this board passed a resolution in 2020 that says that we value and teach equity diversity and inclusion says we prohibit discrimination harassment and
057bullying based on race ethnicity sexual orientation gender and gender identity um i think we need to reaffirm our commitment to those values and not just talk the talk we need to walk the talk walk the walk of making our schools a safe supportive and inclusive place for every student no matter their race ethnicity gender gender identity or sexual orientation so at an upcoming meeting hopefully soon i would like to hear the status of our equity committee and further actions we can take we can take to achieve these goals i i'd also like a discussion on student mental health and wellness tools because that's a part of it anti-bullying efforts and positive behavior interventions and supports so that all of our students do feel safe and included and i'd also like for us to talk about
058as many other local districts have already done putting a pride month resolution on the agenda and raising the pride month flag the pride flag in prime month at the district office which is june so that's just two months away okay thank you and uh thanks courtney for bringing those those items out i think it i do think it would be helpful um since we kind of wrapped up our series on the academic achievement maybe we could get some reports as to what efforts are being taken in terms of mental health and inclusion and anti-bullying because we do have various programs at our site i think that's really helpful for us to see and see how those things are going and what additional steps we feel like maybe we need to be taking so i think
059it could be you know short snippets like we had but a kind of a series on what what are the things that are happening now so that we can kind of open it up for discussion as to what are some other things we can do that would be really great [Music] okay and um so we i know that you've provided um a proposed resolution so we'll bring that forward uh for discussion at our next meeting uh which i think is is timely uh as well as i i definitely want to get and that was part of the series i mean you can see it there's just so much data and i didn't want to want to overload or any too much with some of those points but we probably have multiple departments and that we're
060going to be getting some of that information from um again we're kind of deep in el cap right now and the push towards the end but i think that maybe the idea of maybe like another four-part series um so that we can delve a little bit deeper into some of that information um we could roll out maybe end the next month through the early summer if that works with staff but we'll definitely bring that in so we can have more of a conversation so thanks for bringing that forward so this uh before we adjourn our meeting um i want to remind everyone that our next board meeting regular meeting is april 11th uh we have a lot going on this week as we kind of end the week um with seeing all of our elementary
061schools and everybody getting ready for spring break so um everyone enjoy some time uh and come back refreshed and getting ready for the final push uh last day school is the 26th which is really early this year and i know there's wonderful things that are happening on all of our campuses um so stay safe and we will see you on the 11th
