honored to be here tonight as we celebrate history our girls basketball team has achieved something truly remarkable securing their fifth straight CCC championship and adding a section title to their incredible Legacy their Journey this season has been nothing short of inspiring not just for their team but our entire school and Community I've had a few conversations recently about the idea that iron sharp sharpens iron the belief that when we push each other to be our best we all grow stronger this team has embodied that principle at every step their dedication energy commitment lifted everyone around them when one program thrives it sharpens and inspires others creating a culture where every student every team and every program Rises together we all Rose together to celebrate a moment that will live on in AHS history when our

girls played on the biggest stage taking the court at the golden one Center home of the Sacramento Kings to win the section Championship sorry getting a little emotional here the send off alone our girls received was a testament to what they mean and this meant to the community it stands in the stands our band had the great honor of playing the national anthem before the big game and our student section and cheer squad brought the energy making it clear that Atwater high was there to win this team's Journey didn't just stop at the ction title they then advaned to the CIF state tournament making it to the second round and proving once again that they belonged among the best on behalf of Outwater High School I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to

our entire coaching staff athletic director activities director and to all the staff students cabinet board members families and community members who showed up and supported the team for making this experience so special moments like these remind us that Atwater high is more than a school it's a family one team success becomes all of our success and that sense of Pride and unity is what makes Atwater high so special so again congratulations to our girls basketball team for making history you've made us all so very proud the mic to Mr mados [Applause] Mr mados did you want to share something about Mr I sure will now um in addition to celebrating our girls basketball team take a quick moment to celebrate Nelson Maderos our athletic director he has been named the athletic director for our entire

section the sacking section athletic director of the Year Nelson mados iron sharp [Applause] iron okay that's going to make it a little bit harder to speak now but thank you um uh my name is nelon mados I am the athletic director at Outwater High School um it's a priv to be here tonight to celebrate this wonderful achievement these ladies and coaches have accomplished winning a section title is no easy task there are approximately 181 schools in the sack Kings section that play girls basketball only six of them can call themselves sex and champions that means these ladies are on the top two% of all the girls basketball teams in the sack King section that itself is an achievement the last time Outwater High School won a section title in any was 1993 the last time

at Water High I had a team in the section finals was 1998 so as you can see it's no easy task to get to a section title game much less to win one that's what makes this event more Monumental not just for out high school but for the community of Outwater High playoff basketball is very crazy it's a win and survive and move on type situation where they give you 24 hours to logistically figure out your next move busy is an understatement but it was worth every moment okay for what these ladies did for Outwater high school and for the city of Outwater at this moment I would like to call up our girls basketball coach Mr Jr Leonard [Applause] Davis um thank you um everyone uh you know I had something written but for

whatever reason every time I do I just go off the cuff anyway so I decided that's what I was pretty much GNA do but I'd like to thank everybody that's here today and you know Mr Peterson for giving me my first start and Mr Johnson over there I got you for you know staying with me and you know supporting me through my long journey here at through during the school district um but I I look at it like this it's not we did a good job but you know I have to thank my coaching staff and my and the girls because I always say that you know I kind of had an easy job this year because I got to actually coach and you know my coaches are like amazing and the girls they're the

ones that had to wake up at 6 o'clock in the morning for practice and run here do this shoot like a million times shoot for like hours and all the all the time and effort work I mean it's it's like crazy when you watch what they do what they put themselves through because you know I I can't I wouldn't be here without my coaches or my my girls and my wife so um um so um I thank you guys that all of you guys that showed up and supported us on our way our journey and I mean I get emotional talking about it but it's one of those things where I Mr mados he he likes to challenge me and put things up in the gym so you know he put the section banners of

people and then I'm like we want to go right there and so I know everybody thinks that I just talk a lot of mess but you know we it was something that we kind of knew could happen we had a chance to do it and you know we made it happen so I thank you for the motivation and so but again I love challenges so you know but um I like to introduce the girls because again this is all about them and we'll start we'll go on numerical order you're going to go on alphabetical order medical order all right okay that's all right I got you yeah alphabetical order all right well the girl in the middle Cameron Gibson [Applause] Jolie [Applause] har Sage [Applause] harkson viani Hernandez Maddie heiler Carissa hul Riley Leonardo Natalia

that your ladies put on the floor was outstanding I've never seen a team with that much hustle and that determination and just your first round in the State Playoff when you guys literally shut down any kind of movement on that opposing team that was outstanding so congratulations ladies that's well deserved well earned thank [Applause] you we have one more to introduce yeah so the man that put everything together our student section uh Mr Nathan [Applause] Braga good evening my name is Nathan brag I'm the activities director here at Outwater high or not here I guess coacher to's land um Mrs parley briefly talked about our school and our community but I wanted to expand on that and think some special people uh first I want to thank the Merced Union High School District transportation department

like Nelson said we had to get buses on the turn of a hat had to get Rooter buses full and uh Brenda hereso and Luke Waters were just outstanding to work with um major thanks to our community this community we really fell in love with these uh with this team uh if you didn't see on social media we did a royal send off that was a little extra but that's our style we we we go extra uh we we took them long way out of town and groups of people were outside with posters and pom poms it was just Goosebump City I'd like to thank Peggy heler Elementary Mercedes School Employee Federal Credit Union the gentlemen that run the five corners Marquee mered College Elwood Atwater Elementary School District for being outside rooting on our

girls we'd also like to thank our local CHP Outwater calire Outwater police department and the sheriff's department especially with the last minute helicopter Edition uh for giving these girls a moment they won't forget before the ultimate uh moment that was never forgotten at Golden One um our crowd was the biggest was one of the biggest and loudest not just because of the crazy kids but our community really showed up uh it was easily the size of a big football game if not larger at Golden One the crowd of golden one was one of the biggest of the weekend and when we hosted a first round State Playoff game at our school it was the biggest crowd I've ever SE seing Falcon Arena again thank you to everybody in our community also I don't think it

would be appropriate if we didn't thank someone special in my class eston Garcia please [Applause] stand estabon is our rally commissioner and has led our student sections in all sports this year and he is one amazing young man and he just got into Penn State how about that [Applause] he loves his stuff and he led our student section to be one of the biggest and loudest if not the biggest and loudest student section at the section championships that weekend in Sacramento finally I have to thank our coaches and girls I think I can speak as an Alum of Atwater high and now a staff member that you girls provided memor many memories this season that won't ever be forgotten it was such a fun run congratulations again to our sacken section division 2 lady Champion

lady Falcon champions of the section good job girls Mr Braga I'm going to ask you to come back to the Das thank you Mr Coleman was once my AP I still hear I was going to data that but okay it's been 15 years um but who's counting Nathan every time I go to any kind of athletic event high school college at always think about how Nathan bragga and his leadership group would have run it every time I go to your home games you guys are you have just great dequorum um it's positive it's just you're right last Tuesday when you guys hosted that State Playoff game it was just Electric in there and I just want to say thank you to yourself and your rally commissioner you guys do again a great job thank you

Nathan thank you Mr Coleman appreciate it [Applause] all right well congratulations again lady Falcons moving on to our showcase oh sorry yes I have one comment um I I am obviously biased I'm a basketball guy so thank you El capan and thank you Atwater girls I personally had a wonderful three weeks and and honestly I've never experienced that ever as a principal for many years or as a superintendent that's the first time we've had a basketball team get to the finals so that that 24hour period was was really really special and um girls you had an historic season that no one will ever forget so I thank you all for your effort thank you for how you represented us over that time does anyone have any other comments just uh reiterate congratulations ladies and coaches

um and uh the entire staff I know it takes um it takes everyone to make it happen um and stand behind you so was a fantastic season I had an opportunity to go to several the games as well and um you guys were uh phenomenal so congratulations all right well congratulations again and now we move on to Showcase principal cope please introduce your showcase good let's see I'm following a bunch of taller people uh good evening I am the principal of el Catan my name is menop good evening uh bour and cabinet superintendent uh Peterson um tonight's showcase is our Varsity Boys Basketball team um following a similar message but a slightly different uh finale uh compared to the Outwater girls but first I would like to say uh huge congratulations to the Outwater girls

uh basketball team what they did was phenomenal and um it was really incredible to watch them this season they are true competitors and whenever they would show up here or whenever we would go there it was always a very tough game and we do appreciate the the wonderful competition that Outwater always brings to us and we try to take to them so congratulations to the girls um and I would also like to uh bring up our boys team so boys please come stand up with me so for for anybody who has competed at a higher level and made it to a spot such as the section finals it's a huge deal especially walking into that gym or excuse me that that arena being able to play on that court that is something um that is

a once in a-lifetime experience for our students um and there's there's always going to be somebody who wins and somebody who who doesn't right and half of the teams walk away with a medal and half of the teams don't and I think that one of the things that is really important is what the teams that when they don't walk away with that medal what they do walk away with and there is a sense that there's a feeling that those individuals get to experience that doesn't feel good at the moment but I do believe is very lucky for those students for those athletes it's an experience and a feeling that only half of those 2% that they talked about get to experience it's something that is a terrible feeling at the moment a gut-wrenching excruciating pain

that you can only experience if you've been there and these boys have been there it's something that um they get to then feel and turn into perseverance and drive and they can take that fire and they can use it to become better athletes and better students and they can use it to learn and do make better choices in the future it's a learning opportunity they might not walk away with a trophy or a victory or a blue Banner but they get to walk away with something that a feeling that they will never never get to forget that will build their character as students and as athletes and as people and I am quite proud of them for that if I can get my am I going the wrong way boys guys what's happening here I'm

going down down oh there we go okay so our boys team did an incredible ible job this year and when they went into the uh playoffs they were seated 10 and that's a pretty low seed going into fi the champ the playoffs and they made it all the way to the finals and they they lost by three and they played their hearts out and what I saw on that Court every single time they played with lots of games up in the Sacramento area lots of miles on the car and the Vans um was passion determination perseverance um I'm pretty sure they had lots of bruises um but there was there was a drive there that was something that you can't take away from um from athletes they competed at a high level the same way

that the girls did and I am just so proud of what they've done and what they've accomplished um I'd like Mr her totter coach her tot to come speak about a little bit about what they've done this year um I know that's tiny but I'll let M coach Rado speak and then we'll let um Diego speak how's it going uh my name's coach herado um thank you guys for having us today um I stand before you guys as a proud coach um been coaching for nine years um and those nine years we didn't have uh one single playoff win uh Jr talked about it w up in the morning weight room a lot of great players before us that uh tried to do it but didn't do it um so getting that monkey off our

back at buyer was a a relief a nine-year relief that felt just amazing um as principal cop said we went at the 10 seed so again not too many people expected us to make the run that we uh made um we were on the road so um you know we didn't really get to host anything throughout the playoffs but man I'll tell you what we went to some really really tough environments and it speaks a lot for our program our kids our coaching staff um to go over there and perform the way they did in some hostile environments where even me as a player as a coach have never been a part of something like that so the toughness the grit that these kids performed in and out um as J.R said you win one

game and everybody says enjoy it you can't you're already thinking about the next game and the next game and then all of a sudden it's like what we're playing at Golden One we're there and then trying to figure all that stuff out so it happens quick uh I've yet to still watch the film only the first quarter when we were up 217 so uh I'm going to take another month for the second quarter month for the third quarter and maybe I'll watch it in the you know when we get back to school next year but um super proud coach uh thank you for the community the send off the district um Mr Peterson for the support the text messages anything we we wanted you gave it to us because again it was a special moment

that myself my family our coaches our our players will never forget so again thank you guys um at this time I would like to introduce our senior Captain he averaged about 23 points a game in this playoff run also has a 4.1 GPA um our leader Diego atras hello um sorry a little sick here um my name is Diego again and um just from behalf of me and our teammates my players teammates we want to give a huge thanks the coach for leading us this way all our coaches assistant coaches coacher it was a long year and um every single practice they're honest 100% for the littlest things and at first you don't think of it as it's just something small but going all the way in that section run it's really every single point

charge rebound assist everything matters so a huge shout out to coach um we're thankful for him and a huge shout out to miss coope for um everything she's done for us the district our school even the um our um our send off sorry our send off we just want to give a huge shout out and a thanks to everybody that attended that um and we're just grateful for the opportunity to play at that Golden One Arena and it's something we'll never forget and I'm just a thank you to everybody here thank you coer to I just want to I didn't get a lot of chances to watch you play this year I did watch you play The Golden Valley game and again your boys certainly showed what it takes to win a game and to

go from a 10 seed I'm a former coach I totally understand that that's APR that your first win is a surprise right and then all of a sudden you like you said now you got to turn it on and um to end up making that section final just outstanding congratulations boys well deserved I didn't have a chance to see you play in person but I did stream your game um and you guys did a fantastic job and I hope that each of you is very proud of what you've accomplished this season congratulations um to both the lady Falcons and the the gentleman gaos um obviously huge congratulations to both programs but I hope you guys really Savor this moment and appreciate all the praise that is lotted upon you because it's so welld deserved and

you've changed the trajectory of your programs in your campuses and created so much excitement um not just for yourselves and your families but for the school and the community and um it's just it's awesome so just really excellent job [Applause] you anything superintendent congratulations we'll give everyone a few minutes to head out all right so as they exit out principal c um back to you for your report okay you want me to give it a minute okay Jes nobody you can tell that uh Outwater and elppa are slightly competitive when both of us had helicopter escorts out of the community right sure all right um so sticking with the St Patrick's Day theme and your goodies um tonight's principal report um so I want to talk a little bit about an El miniseries and and

um I remember last year uh Miss Gosman came into my office after I sent her to um to one of the meetings down at the district um with mcoe and she brought back this giant paper and it was um she stuck it on a blank spot in my wall and said we've got to get this accomplished and just kind of stuck it and I said okay and it was basically that we had we had a need to support our El students and so uh Miss Gosman and our uh instructional coach worked together and uh developed an e miniseries and so I wanted to speak on that a little bit because it was really I thought it was really impactful this year and um we've gotten to see some really positive things come out of that

to support many of our English Learners this year so what they put together was they did an El shadowing where we had teachers Shadow individual students throughout the day and during that time they they were watching for their interactions what type of reading were they doing what type of speaking listening writing were they doing what are their conversations look like in class were they um was it just teacher uh to student was it student to student different types of observations like that um from that then we had four different series um for the El mini series where we focused on the different um aspects of the elpac testing um that were very specific we had all of our staff participate in these trainings and we kind of did like a slow roll out for them

over the course of the year and then the just recently we followed up with our second follow-up El shadowing to kind of measure to see if we had seen improvements um it was a really good experience and i' we we've seen Improvement in classes pair this with our do trainings we' we've seen lots of instructional growth um there's definitely room for improvement as always um I think that it's also been a good learning experience as uh these teachers who've gone into to observe the students have seen they're like but I was only in there for a few minutes yes you know and so we know that we're missing some things um you know we're not we want want to see what's next what else came what else happened in that during that instructional time and

so it was it was pretty powerful so our plan for next year is to do the same thing but Shadow our special education students next year and focus on Pro looking at the types of accommodations that they're receiving where are they struggling where do they need some support so we're going to do we're going to focus on the same type of thing for next year uh with the emphasis on our special education students we also have had um grow your own aligned with our one of our superintendent goals um where we're building some capacity there and um through that we've uh we had some stiens where we had some um different expectations for the different individuals who've participated in this and they've had a lot of different opportunities coacher is a wonderful example of one

of those individuals and he's been able to step up in a lot of different capacities for us along with a variety of other uh indiv idual um we'll also repost that for next year in uh in hopes to pull in different teachers and different uh classified employees to figure out ways to incorporate um building capacity there and developing more leadership types of roles um some of the things that they've done is so far is they help be the the admin design for athletic events they show up to our parent workshops um they go to our theater Productions different types of things band events things like that to help uh provide supervision they also have uh been meeting with me to develop their strengths through strength finder um even though I'm not trained you know like

uh Mr Johnson or uh or Dr Austin but we at least have conversations about what our strengths are what do they look like how can we develop them what are some things we need to avoid as far as like pitfalls and um things to avoid um so we do some we do some work through looking at that um so again we'll repost that next year um and from that I'm really excited to say that um pretty much everybody on that list except for I think one is ready to enter an admin program which is really exciting uh and so I've I've really been happy and pleased with the fact that they've come in they've shadowed us they've been able to see what we do and now they're ready to start taking that step forward into

Administration which is kind of the idea right to start developing in them in that in those different roles so we're very excited about that and as we move forward we'll continue to do that and continue to build capacity there um so I'd like to call this uh strategic planning and I give a little bit of background on this so we did some empathy interviews with some of our really high achieving students specifically our seniors our seniors who are in our High AP classes that should be performing the highest on our Casp testing that didn't um so we pulled students that scored in the very very low range on our cast test and asked hey what happened what what why did you score so low and their answer was oh didn't really matter and so I

said well what do you mean and so students had this belief um for whatever reason that they felt that the cas scores didn't matter to them um for whatever reason because it it wasn't going to help them it didn't matter because they had they already knew where they were going to go to college or whatever the reason um so in that in those empathy interviews part of the discussion was well what if it was tied to not enrolled periods and they were like oh well then then it would matter and so we had conversations with our students about so if it did matter if there was something connected to this for you would you have tried harder and they're like oh absolutely absolutely so after those empathy interviews um and developing these different um expectations

for our students that we've been sending out um poor Miss Gosman has been getting uh you know ran over by our students saying Hey when's that test coming so they're very eager to find out when those tests are coming so that they know that they need to try hard because they know that it's also going to be directly connected to whether or not they're going to be getting not- enrolled periods so we've basically taken some of that information that we've got gotten through those empathy interviews we've changed the criteria to be much more strict on how students are going to be getting not- enrolled periods um changed the criteria and we've um we've kind of built it so it it works from lower down the sophomore level kind of if they're interested in being a

TA or mentor and then moving into their Junior and Senior year what that looks like and so um we're incorporating the Star Academy that Miss Garmin has worked really she's done wonderful things with so we really appreciate that um we've also added in um for students that might struggle in different areas a third year of math so there's different ways that students can accomplish this which ultimately ends up incorporating a through G the possibility of a college class if they take a college class so there's different ways to do it which ends up helping improve our CCI um wanted to give a quick update on our Stadium um if you came in that way tonight um you might see some some mud out there but they they're making progress um I'm very excited um we

have we have a meeting here every other week and they're making they're they're making progress they promise me they are so um and I know I'm not you know I'm I'm not Dr wymer over here but I had to throw in a picture because I'm very excited and I drive by every day and make sure that somebody's out there doing something so so and I think that oh I wanted to mention that we did have our girls go down to um down into the LA area and they are our the C CIF State Champs in cheer um and so they do have you can kind of see a large picture down there for a big trophy so I'll be contacting you guys about that um didn't know I that was that was the plan so

we're very excited about them they are fantastic they put in a lot of work and so we're very excited about them they did go to Florida they ended up getting fourth in Florida but they were only I think one point away from first place there was it was so the competition was so tight there so um we're very proud of them they they work very very hard all year long they do a ton of fundraising um so anyway we're very excited about them so yes I'll be reaching out to invite them to the the next board meeting um I do want to give a special thanks um since this is going to be the last time you guys won't be here before the end of the year rolls around so I do want to give

a special thanks to Tiffany dosman and uh Brandon Sanchez who will be moving on next year Tiffany will be moving into the counseling role over at um at Golden Valley and uh where I was at one point and so I'm very excited for her and uh so she's going to do a fabulous job over there and then the same thing for Brandon Sanchez over at Atwater and student support I'm very excited for both of them they are going to do wonderful um in both at both of those sites and I look forward to hearing positive things and hoping they can take some things that we learned that we've done here with them and then also being ready to learn some new things over those new sites as well so I do want to thank them

for all their time and effort that they've spent over here at El Katana Zago and wish them best of luck as a cougar and a falcon uh moving forward in the uh 2526 school year so Megan I just want to say thank you very much for your leadership these are great um parts of your showcase I appreciate thanks thank thank you so much yeah thank you and that's that's all I have for you guys tonight so thank you very much thank you thank you for everything you do I I love your presentations I always take something away from you know a new idea something different that you're doing here so I always appreciate thank you the out of the box thinking and you know just trying something new thank you thank you principal Co all

right so um moving on to the um general public comment period um the meeting is recorded individuals addressing the board are asked to fill out a speaker card located in the back of the room complete a blue card to speak to an item not on the agenda and a yellow card to speak to an item on on the agenda please return the C to the administrative SEC Secretary of the governing board individuals addressing the board shall be limited to three minutes each with no more than 20 minutes per topic during this portion of the agenda the public is invited to comment on items which are not on the agenda but are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees the board will take no action at this time but may refer the issue

Hannah shop supervisor and Edwin hair mechanic 3 class n these six workers are doing an excellent job of maintaining our district school buses work trucks and Fleet Vans they attend to the entire range of malfunctions from the major to the minor from an abided and severed main power cable caused by a hidden pinch point between the engine compartment and main electrical bus that causes the school bus to break down 18 miles outside of town on a narrow country road to a defroster vent whose pressfit gasket has deteriorated keeps popping out when travel bumpy roads causing partial fogging of the windshield from a deteriorated seal in a service brake chamber that's leaking so much it exceeds the applied leakage test limit requiring the vehicle to be taken out of service to a fire extinguisher mounting bracket

that's not quite secure enough allowing the extinguisher to Rattle loose onto the floor whether a defect be big or small it may exist in a component so important that it requires repair before the bus can be deployed our mechanics are outstanding at repairing all of these flaws not only do they have the technical competence they have the commitment and industriousness to do it quickly even tiny malfunctions that don't limit the vehicle's serviceability get prompt attention such as an electric horn that doesn't activate unless the steering wheels rotate at least 45 degrees or a window whose weatherproofing plastic shim is impeding full opening and closing our Shop crew sees the earliest opportunity to address every flaw our drivers report or or which they themselves discover during regular preventive maintenance and inspection all six of them are

also CHP certified California Special drivers AKA licensed school bus drivers and our department regularly calls upon them to fulfill any of the various responsibilities of our full-time bus drivers often on short notice our mechanics do all the tasks of our school that our school bus drivers do and they maintain our vehicles it is common for those who repair equipment to earn more than those simp operate the equipment and the recent huge upgrade of our district school bus drivers has put us on par with our mechanics this begs the question should we upgrade our mechanics thank you Mr Morrison um moving on to reports Mr Nicholson good evening um I'm here tonight to bring the initial proposal for the 2526 negotiations with CCA the education employment Relations Act requires that the district and its bargaining units

Sunshine their initial proposals prior to commencing negotiations the district is required to present its initial its initial proposal at a public meeting to enable the public to become informed and have the opportunity to express public comment so following such public comment the governing board must adopt the district's initial proposal at a subsequent public meeting uh both CA and the district um are sun shining the same articles so we will be looking at remuneration bilingual Su services and remuneration for pool operators so tonight was for discussion and public comment that's thank you all right um next we have the East mered County public facilities financing Authority update just apologies I didn't realize I was the one providing this update Okay so trustee jaenga president jaenga and I are members of the East mered County public facilities

financing Authority which is essentially um taxes a small group of properties in the Moraga community in Merced they pay melaro um that pool of money has grown to um a little over1 million a little less than 40% of it belongs to Merced un High School District the money is to be spent in support of that neighborhood more or less it doesn't have to be in the neighborhood but for instance those students attend Golden Valley High School so it can be for a new high school New facilities there's one other one other bullet point that I don't remember but generally speaking it's for facility upgrades improvements in New construction um it is a essentially the property owners pay those taxes over 50 years I believe it ends in 2050 um and it is a joint Power

Authority board with between Merced City School District and Merced Union High School District we do not have to pull funds simultaneously we do not have to use the money jointly but we oversee the board collectively uh Weaver was at one point on the board and I'm only sharing that because at one point we had six members and then voting kind of made a little more sense now there are only four of us um 50% have to be in agreement to move something along only and the money is there um it can sit there it can stay there forever we can draw bonds against it um we can take the money now if we need it for a big project or something along those lines and I think ultimately we just wanted everyone to know that

it that it exists it's an opportunity and again we don't have to do anything with it now but if we had a special project in particular for the students of Golden Valley it this would be an appropriate place to tag the money does anyone have any questions that's a really brief summary was very well Point Dr Wy anything else okay what happens is I've now been on that board for six years Molly how long have you been one and one and a half it just the board keeps changing and then everybody forgets what the money is for and how we get it and we have to bring people back in and it it actually initiated for those who remember with Michael B wamy um and we've had several different people in the district come and

go so I just think it's important that we all know it's there thank you for that update trusty right moving on to superintendent go instruction Mrs Binger good evening president ja Singa and board members um tonight we wanted to update you on our instruction goal which is related to to do and deeper learning I wanted to start off with just a little bit of data for you um this chart that I have here represents the do levels um percentages for the district that were observed in the first semester what I wanted to point out for you is that yellow bar so this is a a large sample size because it covers the whole District if you looked at individual sites it probably wouldn't be as obvious but because it's such a larger size it is

that yellowish orange bar represents do2 so you can see how our do2 has grown over the course of the first semester that the did not observed in the do1 shrank over the course of the semester which are both are part of our goal in our deeper learning do instruction goal um Mrs um Garcia and Mrs Burman are going to share some information tonight about what we did to help make that happen and and then what we're doing this semester to help continue to improve that so I'm going to turn it over to Mrs bman and Mrs Garcia good evening I'm president ham board members superintendent Peterson cabinet Mrs robra um as Mrs Ballinger said we want to talk about some of the progress and also a bit of the evolution of this goal throughout the

year when we last updated you in the fall um sit we're working on conducting uh pullout trainings so those were um halfday trainings where every certificated staff had the opportunity to be led by their instructional coach and um really work through the levels of do and how we can work on this goal which is increasing critical thinking increasing rigor and providing those structured opportunities for students as our district instructional support team um we meet monthly as we continue to talk about where we wanted to go next with second semester so where we currently are it was really decided that a lot of times um professional development or different learning opportunities we have are one and done and we didn't want that to happen so rather than introducing something new or introducing a new layer of

this goal we really wanted to focus on time um for digestion and time to practice and most importantly time for feedback and reflection because that's really where the learning takes place um so what uh sites did is they all conducted a staff meeting to kick off um the second semester and within that my Flo um so this is a visualization of uh how things are currently looking in the second semester the overall Target as you can see there um and the goal for every across the district was to be able to um create a goal at the do3 or higher level by selecting a specific strategy and a collaboration model and that's where Tony is going to explain a little bit more about how that's looked on site but most importantly um this entire semester

is focused on collaboration feedback and reflection so how it was executed on site I'll turn it over to Tony good evening everyone my name is Tony Garcia and I am the instructional coach at buot Colony High School the choice board you see serves as a streamlined resource for teachers to fulfill the semester 2 requirement of intentional planning at the do K3 level incorporating a selected deeper learning strategy the instructional coaches prioritized Clarity by creating a single Hub where teachers could access all necessary components in one place teachers had the flexibility to choose a collaboration model that best suited their needs whether through a lesson study learning walk or lesson feedback they also had the autonomy to select their collaborators and determine how they would reflect on their experience ensuring a personalized and meaningful approach to

deeper learning the planning chores board was the foundational framework implemented across all Sites however the ex execution varied based upon the site's specific needs and available resources I'm here to provide the Insight in how BC successfully met the semester 2 deeper learning goal following our large staff meeting teachers were required to submit their goals by the end of the week those who needed additional guidance met within the instructional leadership team our ilt our teacher librarian or myself before finalizing their goals some examples of our teacher goals were one that was submitted by a robotics teacher students will identify and analyze the stem career of their interest considering its challenges opportunities and significance they will craft and deliver a 30 second elevator speech to persuade an audience to support or explore the chosen career another submitted

by an English teacher was students will read and annotate a text utilizing a student reading aid to create questions to use and participate in a class Socratic seminar lastly one submitted by a horiculture teacher said students will complete a lab using the soil ribbon technique and give an elevator speech at the end to defend the soil type they believe it represents throughout this process the and our teacher librarian were invaluable in supporting teachers the ilt and teacher librarian have hosted Tuesday talks to help teachers design lessons at the do level three open their classrooms during learning walks and collaborated with colleagues for lesson study opportunities this week alone 15 teachers open their classroom for observation and feedback during the learning walk this is a huge success and true reflection of the instructional culture being built

at BC in talking with some of the teachers who completed the whole process including the reflection one noted it's nice to have a colleague come in and observe your lesson and hear afterwards their thoughts about it and ideas for improvement it's also nice to actually go in and observe a lesson that I've heard about but never seen an action before it gave me ideas about how I could do something similar and another said this experience was quite valuable especially as a first year teacher sometimes I'm not sure how effective a lesson is thus I appreciated the feedback portion in which a neutral Observer could tell me what was working as well as pointing out areas for improvement thank you so much for your time tonight are there any questions but I just um wanted to

also quickly talk about our next steps um because again we want this to be an ongoing process and we know that this deeper learning goal is going to um proceed into next year as well so these are just some of the things that uh we're going to continue to do working with our district instructional support team and then um administrative teams coaches Librarians induction mentors all the people that are making it happen on their campuses one thing I wanted to highlight from our next steps um that I'm excited about is our deeper learning video series um so VI has been partnering with us and there are nine teachers across the district from various School sites who have volunteered to be a model for one of the nine deeper learning strategies that Tony talked about um

she has gone into their classrooms taken video um and is working on editing those right now and we really appreciate that I think that's going to be a really important teaching tool as we move forward because many teachers say that they just need that visual they need that model so that they can see someone else do it um and it's exciting to see someone from another campus too just so we know there's um that cohesion and everyone's working on the same altim my goal we've really been trying hard to Brand deeper learning for Mu uhsd so we have new stickers I have one for you and I want to point out that we asked a a class at outter High School their um digital arts class to kind of have a little competition and this

was one we chose so an Atwater High student actually made the sticker Mrs Ballinger Mrs Burman and Mrs Garcia thank you for your report I appreciate the the depth at which you shared that data because I know a lot of times sitting on the board you kind of Wonder okay where are we with do and I appreciate that graphic and I appreciate you sharing the the planning board and things like that that that's just awesome thank you very much appreciate it you mentioned um 15 teachers I think this week is that all voluntary voluntary volunteered somebody just kind of went and had conversations and said hey you know I know you've been doing really great things in your classroom would you mind opening um this week um for others to come and observe um so

yes it's it was all voluntary yeah which is really neat yeah that's awesome thank you very much on to Dr wymer update on current projects all right this will be a very quick update it's uh very targeted at the uh Business Park to give you an update on what's going out out in that project so we have the uh overview there of the business park you can see over on the right hand side the ones that were finished which were the kitchen uh facilities you there are several other buildings since Google took this so Google needs to get an update here so we can see our buildings on there but all the personels have been uh purchased now so the last piece was this for e e e Dr wymer when um does the district

intend to be off of Castle Air Force Base um we will never be completely off because we own the warehouse so the warehouse building will will be there we own that piece of property uh we could see I put December May through December on there theoretically as I look out and it's pouring rain I would might change my estimates um you could see a December possible completion of the district office portion of that I would say probably before the end of next school year for sure others um just some other um notes of things that are going on obviously these are our large big projects um Atwater pool is obviously complete they will host their first meet next week so March 21st you probably got an invitation from uh school if you're around they will

be doing a little bit of a dedication ceremony for that that is not the formal dedication we don't have the plaque yet there will be a formal dedication where the plaque comes out and we can install the plaque all names on it um and we can do the formal official one um and hopefully we can get Mr spinson who the pool is named after at that one as well so that will be coming up a little bit later uh mered we're hoping to get the punch list and everything done this week so we're we're seeing light at the end of the tunnel of that one it's almost ready it's almost complete they do have a home meet on 3:21 and 411 as well um and they will actually be hosting the CCT championships so if

you want to see the championships for swimming in the new Merced pool that will be April 16th through 18th buack and ELC Capitan stadiums uh completion November 20125 and all of that depends on what we see here you know going on right now um if it rains for three days right now and you have a weekend for it to dry uck will probably be dry because of the sand and working on Monday and elcapitan will be a mud pun still on next week so all of this kind of influences what we can do but we are shooting for that November 2025 um and again we'll have better estimates as we get through the rainy season we'll know all the delays hopefully by that point there's nothing else to dig up that we didn't know was

there which has already happened on both sites um but hopefully we'll have a better indication then as we go into the May meeting on what a actual timeline is looking like for that but we're targeting the November 2025 uh Golden Valley pool deck is going to need some renovation we have have not finished the designs and and got the timeline for that but that could become an eight-month project and it is going to be expensive um it is going to be a lot of concrete and concrete is very very expensive so that will be coming back in a couple of months here as we get the designs and engineering and see what happens but we could probably have to take at least to the first seam if not to the second seam all the concrete

around the entire deck away because there is a crack around the entire lip of the inside of the poop excuse me they're still able to swim they are still able to swim right now they are going to get through the swim season um if we have everything ready I swim season end of swim season could be a time period to get in there but I don't know if it'll be ready the engineering designs before that point especially if we end up having to do a DSA then it drags them but as of now they're still going but at some point when it does happen they will miss a season so we will try to Target where they one season but they will be missing a season at some point for that work to happen uh

March and April we are looking to get a tour of the business park um hopefully when it's not looking like this and you don't have to wear boots to to walk through uh but we will be looking at taking you out and showing you the business park if you're available and then taking out and being able to do a tour of buack and elcapitan as soon as we see a few more things and structures going up so there's a little bit more to see so hopefully in March and April we can get those scheduled uh and then again we will be having official pool dedications with the plaques and everything uh and those things will be happening here sometime in the near future as well uh one thing if it kind of goes along with

the East mer said so as we finish these up and we're looking at the end of 2025 as a time period where we know that that's when you know exactly where we stand financially we know everything that we've put out so pretty much through the fall we'll be identifying all of the things that the district still needs to do and looking at the beginning of an update to The Five-Year Plan so we have all of the projects there whether it's the uh last gyms the pool at Livingston theaters all of those types of things along with things like concrete or doing some type of repair to the center walkway at mered high which is a trip Hazard and a major issue going down there all to those kind of projects as well so we'll be

identifying all of those throughout the fall so that come next year early 26 we can start having realistic conversations of what projects are out there what finances and resources are available questions thank you very much all right now we move on to the employee Association comment period I hope I get this right this time president J board members uh superintendent Peterson and cabinet and Miss robat um I know it's been a while since you've been blessed with my beautiful voice um but I always want to make sure that when I come up and speak it is about something that's important um um I'm going to be vulnerable right now this year I've struggled with anxiety and depression and the reason I bring this up is because in my role I'm hearing a lot and mine

has nothing to do with my job um in my role I'm hearing a lot of our staff members not just teachers are struggling with the same thing um I'm not going to complain right now what I am going to do is preface something I think we have a things in place that can help this that can move us forward to help alleviate these things um I just wanted to mention it tonight because we're going to be bringing this up this month with cabinet um and it has to do with safety of Staff members and students and communication in regards to extreme situations that we have at sites um having said that thank you very much and I hope you really enjoyed my voice thank you I don't think we have a representative CA we do

not all right moving on to the um consent agenda is there a motion to approve the consent agenda I so move second would yes the district would like to thank the following for their donations California Department of Public Health California youth tobacco survey meret Elks Lodge 1240 Bingo account Atwater wenton Lions Club Merced Sunrise Rotary Club charity education Employees Credit Union Steven and alen Guerrero Cynthia Ramirez mered High School class of 1958 Juanita pedroo and Elk Lodge thank you again for your donations thank you trusty are there any questions call for the vote the motion passes unanimously moving on to the action agenda uh Dr wymer have the second interim report so just uh some notes and then we'll get into the slides that you see um every time we bring forward the budget presentation

but just some of the concerns and things that we're watching and looking at right now um enrollment uh in the system matches and did IP small increase for next year but what I'm seeing in the numbers right now are not necessarily playing that out so we were hoping that we were at the end of a three-year declining enrollment not a huge one but about 25 students a year um we were expecting to go back up next year the numbers that are currently in the system being used for the master schedule and the projection are not necessarily suggesting that that's going to be true that it's going to go back up so we have to wait and see how that actually plays out so we are considering the fact that we might be down 25 students

again this year it's not a huge declining enrollment but it is over several years a little bit concerning uh when we look at the feeder School data we should see a little bit of an upturn but we were expecting that to happen next year it might not be for another year after that um attendance rates have not increased um we still sit from um seabeds which is in October to the end of March P2 we still sit at about 92.5 92.9 we used to be at 95% so we were not the recovery of all of that um and part of that had to do with flu season protests a large variety of things that made attendance very unstable for several months during this year so we're just not seeing us get back to that uh

one of the things that we did talk about at cabinet today was the state has not done this for us but all the large districts that are in major declining enrollment they have come up with ways in which you can recover attendance and that's using things like your after school programs and then uh dependent studies on a short term for every absence not just somebody who's gone for a week or whatever but if they're gone for a day you could do a short-term independent studies for something like that a lot of things that we have to go through to be able to make something like that work but we do have some people who are working on that and coming back with some recommendations to maybe help us recoup some of that attendance and get

us a little bit back closer to that 95% instead of 92.5 so you will see in the budget I'm going to be projecting uh when we come back in June another decline in Ada and so we've always historically used the past previous years Ada and just use that for the multi-year projections we are not going to do that for the first time we're actually going to take a decline and show that in the multi-year projections um it works to use the previous year's Ada when things are going up not a good model when things are going down so we are actually going to include some decreases in adaa when we do the budget not sure much I want to get into this one but the State of the State and the state of the nation

um fires have resulted in a uh postponement of some tax receipts so there are certain people who don't have to file their taxes at the same time as uh everyone else which means the state again is going to pass their budget in June without knowing what the tax receipts are the last time they did this they did a very horrible job at they predicted they were going to have major income and it ended up not being there and that's what got us into the problem last year that we had had with the budget cut so hopefully they will take that to heart uh when they do the budget here that's coming up this June that they're not going to know all of their tax receipts and that they should take that into account when doing

budget um the February 20th uh 2025 Lao report does say recent income tax collection has been decidedly strong so that's a good sign right of course you're not going to have all your tax receipts so you have to kind of take that and measure those two things together uh nationally inflation and interest rates are mixed um we saw a little bit of a decrease in the inflation rate today so that was a good sign but you have all of the different things from tariffs to the volatility in the stock market the stock market is down about 8% over the last three weeks uh which is very very important to California because 50% of tax receipts come from 1% of the earners and it's based on the stock market so when you see little hiccups in

the stock market that worries us the tax receipts might not come in so strong so hopefully they will take that and the fires and not tax receipts and be very conservative when they do their budget in June and not just basically tell us hey look at everything we have and just start handing out money like they did the last time Cola probably is going to be unchanged so that will come out the way it is that's a formula um and there is no discussions on either side from the uh Governor or the legislature to not fully fund a cola so that's there uh the issue will be whether or not and how much of the onetime funding is going to come in um they were estimating that there might have up to $3 million for

us in onetime funds I'm guessing with the fires in La not having your tax receipts that's probably going to be adjusted some point and that's not going to materialize at that particular level but I am not expecting any change to the C Dr wymer are you get do you want questions at the end or you can interrupt me anytime okay so the last time we did the the pause for tax returns it was Statewide that damaged our projections I guess right so is the is it local like is it the LA orange yes counties that are that they're they're allowing so I see it's still going to be tax return it just won't be as dramatic maybe as it was last time okay it's it's a large part of the LA area and then some

of the northern counties as well who had fires that didn't get as well some of the others um areas that we are watching and these are the political issues that could have Financial issues or or issues for the district um the office of civil rights is investigating the CIF over Title 9 uh in regard to transgender athletes um the reason we ping that up is because federal funds are tied to Title 9 compliance so if the federal government wants to get into a battle with the state of California over Title 9 there is potential uh ramifications for that fiscally there there's nothing in the near future that that would apply to it would be a longer term they'd have to open up a civil rights investigation get specific districts and and different things like that

before they'd be able to do that but we are watching the outcome of this particular investigation to see where they're headed with that particular one Federal funding um for the free and reduced lunch program um I keep seeing this one come up and this one is worrying me a little bit we are finally um not supporting our nutrition services they f themselves with meal reimbursement programs so whenever they talk about free and reduced lunch meal reimbursements we get a little bit worried because if we don't get the federal reimbursement rates then we would have to start contributing to the cafeteria fund again to be able to keep funding um all students getting free meals so that is one thing that we are watching there has not been an indication that they're going to cut the

meal reimbursement rate the things that they have talked about would be income verification forms which we pretty much collect right now uh so that's not something that's probably an issue for US unless they change what it is or make it more complicated to fill out um and then the other part is changing the cut off for Community eligibility provision which we are a member of to 60% unduplicated we're at 80% so we're not really worried about those two things we're just watching and every time they do the budget there's something about USDA and free and reduced lunch in there and so we keep watching those to see if any of that's going to impact us as of right now it's probably a paperwork ISS more than it is a funding issue but it is one

that we're really watching uh freeze on grants or elimination of the Department of Education uh currently we are not involved in any of the grant type things that they're talking about they're not talking about the formula related grants and even in the um executive order that they're putting together on the Department of Education it still would not address the formula based funding that we get from the federal government title one title two title three um special education Ida idea money those types of things are all formula based and none of the budget proposals or anything that they've talked about have addressed cutting any of those types of things so as of right now we're not expecting an impact on that um if you didn't see it today the secretary uh for the Department of Education

basically said about half of their members are going to be let go half of their staff so they're talking about 1500 people I believe it is um and again what does that impact us it depends all of the formula stuff would go somewhere else all of the things that they have to do investigations and civil rights and those types of things would fall probably under the Department of Justice they might change where they come from to us but as of right now none of the things we actually get are the target of those particular ones now there are some grants out there that have been frozen I know other districts who have grants that have been frozen but our district currently doesn't have any of Medicaid reimbursement um this one could be a concern as

well there was a very large uh reduction in this in the legislation that passed the house um in reducing Medicaid um at least reducing the funding that goes to that department and if you reduce it that amount you almost have to impact the amount of Federal Aid that's going out to Medicaid we do re get reimbursement through the school for different things through Medicaid so if we were to lose some of that reimbursement that could be a little bit of a financial hit to us so so the meal one and the Medicaid one have the potential to impact us the grants and the other ones aren't probably in Jeopardy um La unified is in a lawsuit right now over proposition 28 so we're watching that um there's two parts to it one of it is

they're challenging La unified who's carrying out what the Department of Education and the audit committee said were the rules so by challenging La they're actually challenging the rules so if that happens we need to pay attention to that but they're also challenging the way La spent their money and some of the things they're saying if they really spend it that way they're in trouble because they're going to lose the lwuit and and have to redo what they did so we are watching that though to see if any of the pieces that challenge the rules that the state has in place get changed because then we would have to change the way in which we monitor our prop 28s as well and then nape which is the national testing has been cancelled for the year and

basically the staff was like go and so um I don't know that we will give the nape which is the national testing that we use to compare across States and across internationally um that testing was canceled and I don't know that that will happen again during the Trump Administration so that that's just something that's out there I'm not it doesn't hit us financially we actually participated in it I believe last year one of our sites was one of the schools who did that but you won't see that standardized test then that compares everybody across different states internationally coming out probably for a couple years so this was just a UCLA forecast that came out last week um uncertainty is high so again as you go into a budget where you don't necessarily know the tax

receipts the the one on the left those High numbers are uncertainty which means be conservative don't go spending lots of money that you don't have and then over on the right is the chart that basically shows what the expected growth of GDP is and so you do see that although it's slowing a little bit it's still growth so UCLA is still in that you're in the 2% range growth every year you're not actually going into a recession going into a recession again would then be worrisome about tax receipts I believe that's it for that one questions on any that that was a lot nape is English math is it science too or just English and math just English and math I know it's English map I think it's just English map yeah they they randomly

select groups throughout the the country in each state and so again I think it was mck that was actually was it Buck last year Livingston uh was randomly Chosen and so they had a specific demographic makeup chosen by they to come in and actually take the test and so they use that with all of the other ones that were chosen in California that becomes the you score and you compare those to stes any others switch and so now the one you're used to we do have the second interim again you can see the line is kind of flat so even though we've had a threeyear decline if you look at it this way it's B you know it's not looking like some of the LA schools or Bay Area Schools where the decline looks like

a a downhill slope it's it's a very gradual decline but you can see to the right hand side there's just that slight bit of decrease but again 25 students a year for four years as 100 students you're talking about you know $1.5 million that you get less every year at that particular point until that comes back lcf components uh still around $176 million for the year the assumptions point one out on revenue is assuming that we have the lcff cola this is last year's because we're still we're not going into next year's budget so the 1.07 is actually the for the current year so we do have that in there we do have the unduplicated count which we did get at 81.7 that gives you the percentage of Revenue that we get from the lcff

the federal government so you can see federal income is about 5.3% 5.4% of our budget so when we're talking about Title One Perkins all those types of things those come to the federal 5.35 that does not include meal reimbursements meal reimbursements are not in the general fund they're over in fund 13 uh expenditure assumptions this is one I do need to pass uh point out because we will be passing this over to the uh County Office of Education to show that we have included the raises that we negotiated in the multi-year projection so you can see on the top one there we have a 1.5% step and column but in the out years were also including the cola raises for 25 26 26 27 so when you see the multi-year projections that includes the cola

raises that were Cola that we're supposed to get from the state projections for those two years but it also includes the cola raises that we'll be giving to staff because we've already negotiated all of our expenditures and again you'll see that we are going to be negative this year we're going to be negative next year that's spending down the money that's not the fact that we're spending negative it's that we're spending all of the one-time funds so to spend onetime funds you actually have to be negative spending to be able to get rid of those so we are spending all down the onetime funds this year and next year and you will see shouldn't put my glasses you'll and the 25 million uh for the first interim and second interim for this particular year but

the multi-year projection which is this one is the one you're going to want to be seeing so when we get out to 26 27 we're getting pretty much to a standard budget now with most of the onetime funds gone you'll see that we're down to about1 19.7 million you'll see a little bit of a drop off going from that one to the final year when we do the budget because we'll include one more year you're going to see that down into the $15 million range and that's where we expect everything so we have $5 million Reserve there huge part of that is either carryover or your 10% U reserves and so that's pretty much where we will be as we get past that 26 school again those are the assumptions that are used in the

oute you do have the cola the 2.43 and 3.52 that was used both for income and for increases to salary you have the student body account again we just put that in for Auditors and then it goes right back to the student body account we just have to have it into the books Adult School comes to us from the Consortium uh the Child Development Fund we put the money in there to pay for the CDC the Child Development Center on East Campus every year cafeteria you can still see that we have a over $2 million surplus on that that's not normal if you go back five to six years we were running negatives and we were using lcap money to fund the the cafeteria program it is now in the black and so that's a

very good we would like to stay there so please don't touch our me reimbursement rates deferred maintenance is money for roofs HVAC systems those types of things so we have a balance uh there for those types of things you'll see that the building fund is going to be going down to zero that's the bond money so the bond money is gone we're going to be spending other facility monies but the bond mone's itself will be gone we have developer fees which we use to expand new buildings things that are brand new and mostly we use it right now for Portables but that will be one of the ones we will be looking at when we talk about you know 26 here's the projects we have here's our financial resources available what's available what can we

can do um and then the last one um you'll see 21 million there but that still has to pay the last of the pool and the last of the stadiums and the last pieces of that will come out of that but a large portion of it is already in that total expenditures for this year but there will be some that comes out next year then you have our special Reserve 17 which almost all of that is your 10% reserves so what's in the general fund balance plus fund 17 that are it's our 10% reserves and then the last one is the OPB the raises will be coming out of that so the $2,000 per year for this year the 750 uh in December and in May for the next two years for both bargaining units

will be coming out of that um and it's paying off the last and if we do another pars the money is there for that so that is there to cover all of those things and the county makes us put that on there we don't get to touch it we do have a part positive certification unlike many in the state where the number has gone up by 30% this year of districts who are not having a positive certification so it is very nice that we have a positive certification we can pay our bills superintendent recommends the Board of Trustees approve a positive certific a adopt the proposed revisions to the general fund budget as submitted adopt proposed revisions to the various other funds of the district as submitted and accept the criteria and standards some so

moved second Dr wmer has attendance improved this year no what's that he said for it has oh we were we were hoping to see a little bit at the beginning of the year and then we hit a harder flu season this year than we have we hit protests we hit walkouts we hit a variety of different things and when you average them all out is it worse than last year um I would say it's probably right at or maybe a little bit below last year not significantly it's enough that we are taking very seriously the opportunities that the state is us to alternatively recover Ada through after school programs independent short-term independent studies and Saturday school programs we will be beefing those up big time to make up for those loses okay if not call

for the vote please thank you motion passes unanimously um home to school transportation plan Dr Wy again uh this is again not a comprehensive you've seen this I believe twice now uh this is not a comprehens Transportation plan it is a state required plan that answers very specific and direct questions uh one of which is how do you prioritize transportation for K3 yeah that was what I said K3 um so how do we do that yeah we don't so we just say na to the biggest question they have on the plan uh but we do review uh the services that we offer specifically for unduplicated students and for our high need students special education homeless students Foster youth students and nothing has changed since last year it is the same uh plan going forward but

we do need to approve it every year just to make sure we take a look at it and update anything that's there we do get some reimbursement for transportation funds because we have this plan in place superintendent recommends the board adopt the MU hsd transportation services plan is there a motion to approve I moved is there a second second any questions okay call for the vote okay motion passes unanimously Dr Wy again all right bringing us home here um so the um resolution that you have before you is what was uh requested at the previous meeting uh last two meetings actually uh in regard to the electronic Billboards and so it was the concept of having a committee that would then Target those particular funds and uses uh we do have the committee being an

ad hoc committee because different rules apply if it's a permanent committee versus an ad hoc committee so it is an adhoc committee and so the membership will change every year and the amount of money and the things that they look at will change every year so every year um there is a rotation there between students and staff so that there's a representative from every School site and then half staff half students and one board member starting with district one and then alternating each year so that would meet every year starting in 26 because there probably will not be revenues to really look at for this particular year of any significance starting 26 then we would um look at having that start in September um it would meet and then it would come back and give

the board a recommendation on how it thinks that that should be used with an explanation of how it directly impacts students so superintendent recommends the board adopt resolution number 1024 establishing ad hoc committee to make recommendations on the use of donated funds um and we are not set in stone on this if you have other ideas like to change it we more than willing to go over those and have those conversations is there a motion to approve so moved is there a second second any questions does the committee have to make a recommendation to to spend the money or can they actually say there's not enough to make a difference this year we'd like to roll it into the next year that would be their recommendation to you they could say it's not enough the

projects are big we'd rather roll this over so that more bigger projects could be funded the following perfect thank you questions call for the vote please and of course it will be set up in a separate fund that will be tracked so that we can give the reports on the income and the uses thank you motion passes unanimously moving on to the superintendent's report thank you president jaing it is lcap season so for all of you out in the crowd and those listening I encourage you to attend the appropriate group or any of the general meetings to give your feedback um let's see um we had multiple section uh championships this winter uh two that we Showcase tonight um but we also had the High girls wrestling team that you will uh hear from and

done my research so I've been I think I've seen three uh assembly members and a couple of Staff members there's an assembly bill out there AB 1111 that is designed to slow down the requirement of having electronic Vehicles by 2030 I believe we're asking for um a 10year pause so it'll be like 20 45 so I just wanted to report out that I've been spending a lot of time this week with that area thank you you trusty colan trusty pickle I would just like to thank Miss cope for hosting and thank you for the goodies I have nothing to report thank you thank you um I don't thank you so much for hosting us this evening in the back um um and um want to say a quick congratulations um I think we have three
