Are you ready? >> Nobody. >> I heard it. [snorts] [snorts] I think we could even f [laughter] >> usually it's usually you that's always so >> I'm the one that just chatter box. >> I'm kind of glad we fasttracked that a little bit too. >> That would have taken >> spent a lot of time reading through those but I was like I don't want to read through these again. I feel like we're above average, right? >> And friends that you all actually read them. [laughter] >> Your mother-in-law went >> That's fine. >> I scared her away. So >> I absolutely >> She was very delighted actually. >> Thank you. >> She just wanted to see what it was like. >> Yeah. >> So fun. [snorts] >> Okay. Is it time? She's giving Kim away for

De. [snorts] >> She told me she might go home. That's fine. >> Oh, that was your mom? >> That's my mother-in-law. >> Yes. She just wanted to see what it was like to be at a schoolboard meeting. Not like this is a authentic. >> Most of it's an executive session. >> You might have something to say when you get She probably will. That's okay. >> I would have had her come to my office. >> That's okay. >> I talked her ear off. >> Oh, okay. >> Kevin's good at that. You're a good conversationist. >> That was great. >> All right. We are going to move out of executive session back into open session. >> I will make a motion that we Is this okay if I do this? >> Yes. Say names out loud. I

don't want to do it wrong. >> I I'll make a motion that we move Jeffrey G to the next round of the process. >> Second. >> Uh, any discussion? >> Um, >> I just really like that he's from Idaho and he's a smaller school, but he kind of has the Idaho tie and kind of fits in with a little bit >> and he has had seven years experience as a superintendent. I thought that was >> good. >> Okay. Anything else? Hillary. >> Hi, >> Freddy. >> Hi, >> JD. >> Hi, >> Kirsten. >> I as well. >> I make a motion that we move Marcus Meyers to the next interview process. >> Second. >> Okay. Any discussion? He's a very qualified person. He fits all of our qualifications that we discussed. His answers were really

were really well written in my opinion. He has very extensive experience. We know he can handle difficult situations including publicity. >> Um Kirsty. >> Hi I >> Hillary >> I >> make a motion to move uh Dr. David Reinhardt uh to the next step next stage the interview process. >> We'll second that. >> I think he also had good answers well thought out >> and I like that he has worked in >> Yeah. He's worked here before. Okay. Anything else? >> Hillary. >> Hi. >> Kirsty. >> Hi. >> Okay. >> Ready for next step? >> Yeah. Any other motions? >> Yeah. Next step. What's the next thing? >> So, um you have three applicants or three candidates that you've moved forward. So, um you can either do a semi-finalist round if you want or if

you feel like you're ready to start planning like in district visits and um bring them in for an in-person interview, that would be um at this point very doable with the amount of applicants that you've moved forward. So, um, I'll turn it over to you to kind of see first of all what you're thinking. Would you prefer to do like a short What I would recommend if you did like a semi finalist round is that they're Zoom interviews because you do have a candidate that is from out of town. Um, so that they aren't having to travel more than once to the district. Um, with the interviews on Zoom, I recommend they are around 30 to 45 minutes, just short interview to kind of get to know the candidate more. Um, or if you feel

like, let's just get them into the district. we want to be face to face with them, get them in front of our staff and community, then we can certainly discuss like bringing them in for the finalist round, doing community forums, um, and board interviews and to having them tour your district. So, I'll let you kind of discuss what you think would be the best step forward. >> I think it's time to be face to face. >> Agree. >> I agree. I think so, too. I think we're ready for the finalist round. >> I would I would make a motion that we try to select three or four people from the community or the district or the staff to help to be on the board with us maybe. I don't know how that would look. >>

Yeah. How would you like like a forum type thing to >> forum idea? >> Yeah. >> So, um >> or even or even have So you have like a district >> three or four or have three or four people that we would choose to come be with us to the next stage of interviews >> and ask and help us to ask questions and >> I have someone that actually reached out >> and so how do we select those people? Do we each select a person or >> Yeah. the best process. >> Two different recommendations for something like that. Typically, I I don't recommend that the board bring in um like community members, staff, anyone for like your board interview specifically. Oops. Um and the reason behind that is because ultimately at the end of the

day, it's the board's decision on on who you hire. What I would instead recommend is that maybe um that group of people that you want, we could form um a different kind of forum where that small group kind of does their own interview of sorts with the candidates. Um they get to ask questions. I would recommend that they share the questions with you ahead of time so you can ensure that the questions they're asking are appropriate and within the bounds of what they're legally allowed to ask candidates and talk with candidates about. But um that would be my recommendation. And then additionally, I would recommend you do that smaller kind of forum with those groups and then you do um either one sole forum where you invite all of your community and staff to it

or you do a staff forum. And typically we see this done like right after school ends so that the staff can just all come to the high school auditorium or wherever it is that you choose to host it. and um you have tailored questions specific to CUNA school district staff and then later in the evening you could do another forum that's um tailored more community focused for any of those in the community. Um >> that's only having three candidates. I think it's and we interview them in person. I I kind of feel like it's going to be go quick. >> I do too. And I just wonder if we're kind of like overdoing it a bit if we have like us interview and then another group interview and then have a community forum. Like can

we just do our interviews and then see who we want if who if we want to move all three forward then then we can have a community forum with all three of those people at once. Is that how you do it? >> We and we don't have we don't have to come up with a firm structure right now. Right. I mean we can just come up with the next step right now. Correct. And then make that action and then go from there. >> I would what I would recommend at this point is at least kind of having an idea of how you want the forum process to look. Just and it doesn't have to be super specific to who's on the forums or how how many you have, I guess. But um just for transparency

of your community when they see the meeting minutes and it's reported out tomorrow of what they can expect and when they can expect to hear from candidates. I do think they um enjoy hearing that uh they are going to have the some opportunity to hear from the candidates. So, um, I would recommend at the very least just having a a very general structure in mind. >> What about one forum? If we all had someone who reached out, let them know when it will be and then also that allows the community and staff, anyone that wants to come and it's just all one group and that's one forum at one time. >> Well, and and can't those people be part of the forum though? Like I'm not sure why we have five people as a as

like a committee and then they like if we're just going to have the forum that everyone can come and maybe we can take questions from people ahead of time. >> If you pick those five or whatever, they were the ones asking the questions. >> Oh, >> and then everybody they answered to the whole group that's there kind of like >> I like that. >> And we have these questions here. So we could actually give them the questions that KD gave us and say, "Is there anything else you want to add or something like that?" Way they have a basis of what they're asking. >> So we can combine the forum with the committee. Is that what you're saying? >> That's kind of what I was. >> Yes. I think that's good because it feels like

if we have all >> interview then the committee and then a forum and then another forum. >> I don't like that. >> Streamline that a little bit. >> It kind of feels like I'm beating it to death. I I I we're going to interview them three people. I I would make a motion that we um pick three or four people right now that are going to help us with that. And I would make a motion that we ask Stuart Vickers to be part of that >> CTE. Uh >> who else? How about >> Kevin Gford? I would make a motion that we involve Kevin Gford. >> That'd be really great. I like that with curriculum. >> I came up with that all by myself. >> On the spot. >> Yeah, >> that be better for

like the community. [clears throat and cough] make a motion. >> Oh, I mean Well, okay. So, let's I have a motion. I'll second your motion. >> Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah, then we can do mine after yours. >> Okay. >> I'll second. Do we need to Oh, sorry. >> First, we have to say we have to have a discussion about >> Okay. So, we're >> we already did. Okay. Yeah. >> Okay. So, we're making a motion to have Steuart on the committee. >> Yeah. Okay. >> All in favor say I. I. I. Who who's there's somebody that's an instructional coach that said they wanted to be a part of it and I can't remember who that was. >> Let's do I'll make the motion that we have Kevin Gford be on the hiring committee. >> A

second discussion all in favor. >> I I I make a motion to have Ryan as a parent in the community who would like to be a part of the process. What's his last name? >> Is it res? >> You know him? Yes. >> Who it is? >> There we go. >> He's on our superintendent's advisory council >> and he is a he's an admin. >> He is. >> Oh, maybe that's not the same person. Well, >> this one >> he knows you. He worked with you and Jason. >> But is he the person that ran for the school board position? Because isn't that Brian also? >> Oh, I don't know. But he lived in Crimson. >> I am. >> Yeah. We probably better make sure who we're talking. >> I feel like we need to

be sure who it is. Yeah, because if it's Brian Resnik, that's a parent on the superintendent's advisory council. >> He works in the middle. >> Yeah, different person. [clears throat] >> But Brian that lives in Crimson Point who ran against Freddy in the >> for sure it was Brian. >> I thought it was less. His first name is Brian. >> Yeah. No, that's not >> not the same one. >> Um, >> I make a motion that we have Luke Wolf on the committee. >> No seconds. >> I'm thinking >> I am thinking about where who else like what other bases we need to cover. I guess like >> did you say >> give us some more suggestions, Kim? >> Um, okay. Kevin, we've got Steuart. Do you want do you want like a um like

an element. We've got an elementary principal rep, which is Kimberly Barker. >> She represents all six elementary principles. >> Oh, that would probably represent secondary as well as >> Yeah, I think that'd be great. >> I like I think her that would be nice. >> And I think iter I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but it would be nice to differentiate I guess the >> who is on and I feel like that's >> I'll make a motion to have Kimberly Barker on the >> We have a motion already. for >> nobody seconded it. >> So I'll second that. >> I f >> I >> that's three marker. >> That's three. >> So I'll throw out a couple names. Got um special ed director Kelly Shamber, which is big deal. That would probably

that's a name. Kelly Shamber, special director. Um, I think I'm just looking at some of the lists that we kind of wrote down. >> How many instructional coaches do we have? >> We have six instructional coaches, but >> Brad, even though we Mandy Holland, Laura Jenkins, and Andrea Wilson. >> How many are we trying to get? Do you guys kind of have a number in mind? >> All right. >> I think four or five is >> my opinion, I would think. you get too many and it's like now we're throwing so much stuff at >> you have a good representation from different I don't know if you want a current like assistance like a Brian Graves is over operations and HR >> or or if you don't I mean I'm just throwing out somebody from

the but Kelly Shamber special ed >> special ed would be great I would make a motion that Kelly Shamber be on the >> okay >> hiring committee >> I would make What was the first instructional coach you said? >> Bradford. >> I would make a motion for her to be on there as well. >> I'll second Hillary's motion. >> I'll second JD's. >> We'll take a vote on Hillary's motion first. >> Mine is for >> I will take a vote on JD's motion for I'm just wondering, oh, can we have discussion for a second? I'm just wondering if should we have all people that >> work in the district or should we involve any parents? >> I I feel like maybe the parents would be better utilized in a in a comm in a forum.

I don't know. >> Murphy, >> that'd be my feeling. >> Well, would we would we do like one for just like the district staff forum? And that's kind of what I was thinking for this >> and then do >> and then have a community forum. >> Oh, where we elect or more people? >> Well, just have some questions [snorts] >> from the president. >> Somebody can >> or can we combine them or is that too much like where the community and the staff? >> I think if we streamline it. >> Yeah. How >> the less I think the less separate >> it or just kind of >> It really depends on your preference. Um, I found that the separate forums are really nice if you want to ask more education focused questions of when the

staff and the teachers and everyone are in the room and then more kind of like how you're going to engage with the community. Um, you know, be be visible in the community. Those kind of questions are better asked with the community. And sometimes you're you're running on, you know, an hour and a half to two hours maybe for your forum and um >> it's a lot of questions and maybe you don't get as much opportunity to ask what everyone wants. So I think what would be my personal thoughts are that you do a forum with your your staff and have this um committee that you've selected be like kind of the ones creating the questions and asking the questions and then you do in the evening I would recommend it be in the evening when

people are off work um another forum that's community focused more staff can still come to that one and listen but that one's is more focused on the community and less on like how what their experience with curriculum is and you know running a school and doing all of that that maybe the staff care more about. >> Okay. >> So there is one more person that I've got to confirm with them to make sure I have the right name. So when we have our meeting on Tuesday, can we add him to the committee or does it need to be >> You could certainly add your >> Are you guys okay with that? >> Are you talking about a parent? >> Yeah, he is a parent. His kids go to Crimson Point. Would it be better for

the community forum to have them be on that one rather than >> said he really wanted to be on the committee? >> Yeah. So the I think we're having two committees. >> One of of like >> staff and one of either way I just want >> So we can pick five of each. >> Okay. I'm going to confirm >> the for the for the community. >> Okay. So what are we on the fifth person >> got a motion and a second? We have five, don't we? >> We didn't vote on the last one. >> Voted on. >> Yeah, we haven't voted on >> who I lost. Oh, Deborah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> That make >> Yeah. All in favor? >> I took notes of who all those people are. Okay. >> My

>> She's on top of it. >> Writing down all our banter. >> No, you're fine. Look back. You're fine. You're fine. I'll go. >> [laughter] >> No doubt. I I would make a motion that we ask ISBA to check references. >> Do we need to make a motion for that? >> Are we allowed to call references? >> So, >> what we can do um like I said, we can do it a few separate ways. We can fully do the reference calls um in office. We can also create assignments. So, if a few of you want to call references, but a few of you don't, um we can figure out who wants to call assign a candidate to you references and then we can call whoever um doesn't have someone um or we can just fully

do them or you as a board can fully do them. >> Katie, I have a question. Are you limited to just the are they are you limited to just those references or if or can you call? >> We can call whoever we want without them. >> So, um on our reference call sheet, the you'll see the last question on here is um is there anyone you else you would recommend as a reference who might have seen this candidate from a different angle. >> Um we tend to get really good um information on, oh, you should call so and so. They they were their secretary or something like that. Um, and we'll at that point in time we'll call them. Sometimes we don't get any um they don't know of anyone else. So, but we always

ask that question because it does kind of broaden the pool. >> It's a really great question. Um, and then additionally, what we do look at when we put together like reference call assignments is for someone who's worked alongside the candidate, someone who's worked under the candidate, and someone who's supervised the candidate in the past. So, you kind of like knock all of the the boxes off. So, if they don't have a reference that fits one of those boxes, um, we'll typically reach out and ask them if they can provide us with some someone. >> I would like to call references. Is there anyone else on the board that would like to call? >> I don't mind doing it. I feel like it's a really good way to kind of get a feel for the candidate.

>> I think you hear it firsthand. >> Yeah. >> If you make the calls, you >> and it's not like through somebody else's. [clears throat] Yeah. So, I would like to be a part of it. Okay. So, how do we move forward? Like >> I feel like whoever call we should be consistent in the same person. It shouldn't be like >> you know what I mean because it's hard to get a gauge if I call three of or you know have three >> like you know >> I think if two of us want to do it that would be >> two or or three or all or however many of us >> consistency. Yeah. Typically what I would recommend is that you call whoever is wanting to call references calls all of the references for

>> candidate >> one candidate. >> Um so that you're getting >> you're getting all of the same questions asked and answered by one person. Um, so in your case, you would need three people on the board or if only two people want to, then we can fill in and do the one that um it that the board doesn't want to call or however you want to do it. >> The other thing I would add too is it's really important that whoever may does the calling, you ask the exact same questions. And the reason is you don't want to give one candidate um an an unfair way to do better or to do worse. And so if you all have different questions that you're asking, it could put one candidate better or worse in the questions

and the feedback and you know what they've done in their career. So >> I think I I was just going to follow what you gave me. >> Is this this is what you >> So yeah, just make sure you're following that. >> I thought they were good questions. So I I think it should be two people. >> Okay. I think that's consistent for every candidate. It needs to be consistent. >> It does need to be consistent. So, >> well, I don't even know if it's that like tell me if this is wrong, but like couldn't two people sit together? So, you have two perspectives listening to it. You could >> have two people sit there and call the person your own speaker while talking about >> or whoever want I mean you >> no it

would be executive session >> you would just have to have a special meeting and >> I mean if three people want to do it we don't want to say no but >> and that would it would just limit the ability of like >> time and being able to get a hold of the references >> a lot so >> I think everyone's okay if it's the two of us. >> I'm [laughter] okay. >> And it'll just be Hillary and myself. >> And are you gonna split up someone together? >> Oh, okay. >> We'll do the whole thing together. >> Wonderful. >> We are ordering people for that. [laughter] >> I might as well >> join in. >> Okay. >> We'll do it in your office. >> Okay. So, do we need to determine when we're going

to be doing this? >> Yeah, my next recommendation was to look at your calendars potentially and pick a date. Um, and then the only other thing that you haven't really talked about is if you want to do like a district tour type of thing at some point during these visits. And if that's the case, you can just decide you want to do a district tour and we can work with um Kim and Deianne and and figure out what that looks like so that we make sure the schedule works. >> We'll make it work. >> I feel like if they want one, great. You know, >> I do think it's kind of nice to do a district tour. Um, what I've seen with them is that you can bring candidates in >> kind of in the

morning, start the tour, you can bring them through some of your schools. Now, you're a larger district, so you probably wouldn't bring be able to bring them to all of your schools. That would take a long time. Um, but you could pick like an elementary or maybe two elementaryaries, maybe two middle schools, and then the high school or I >> have two, but yeah. >> Yeah. You know, what whatever you pick. >> Yeah. Um, >> and do you bring them all together? >> You can bring them all together or that's something where um you could be well one candidate's touring the district, the other candidates's meeting with this staff committee and doing their staff committee forum. Um, but I guess that wouldn't work if you're doing gonna bring in all of your staff. So you

could also just offer that one candidate tours the district, the other has like a break, but we've done it where you just bring both candidates around and it works fine too. So typically there'll be like a little bus that they take them in or someone's vehicle in the district office and it's typically the superintendent or the clerk or um another district office staff member who has volunteered to kind of be the tour guide. So I have a question. What if like can we do the three interviews with the board and then at that point like if we feel like we want to narrow it to two to move on to this like next step like what if we do the interviews and we're like one is clearly not the person. Do we just keep moving

them all through the the process or do we narrow it to two then so that we don't have quite so many like because it'll take a two you know a third less time on every single meeting if we >> if that's what you want to do then you may want to do like the Zoom interview thing um beforehand. The only reason I re is I'd recommend that is because you don't want them to like have to come to the district two times or say, "Okay, well, you you may or may not come to this next round that's tomorrow or whatever the case may be." Um, I guess you could do that, but it it just makes it easier if you just bring all of your candidates in and interview them all. Oh, so you're like

saying we do the interview one day, then the very next day they they come for the then we do the forum like the next day like on their same visit. >> Typically it's we do it all on the same day. >> Oh, the same day. >> Yeah, it's it's a busy day. A long it's it can be a long day, but it that seems to work the best for the candidates. Um, and then that way you hear from all of them at the same time and um, you're not have I've done it where we've brought each individual candidate in on a separate day and it just creates a very long week and by the end of it it's um, everyone's kind of exhausted and I was thinking it's like we do an interview then like

two weeks after that. >> No, it's all it all happens at once. Yep. And we'll work with um Deian and Kim to really >> fine-tune the schedule of the day. So, you as the board realistically only need to be there for the interview part and if you want to come to any of the forums, >> you don't have to be there to do the district tours unless you want to be there. >> Okay, >> Katie, on that day. So, I'm I'm trying to I want to clarify something that Hillary asked. So you go through that whole day. Then when do they come back and go we want to narrow this to we we got it narrowed to one maybe >> or like we've selected our person. >> Yeah. H >> how does that then what

do do they can they go into executive session that night and decide that and then >> do it all in one >> typically. Yeah. That's typically how it works is you have the day and it's either that evening or if you decide it's a really long day and you want to meet the next day as the board um you can meet the next day. But shortly after your I call it your finalist visit. Shortly after your finalist visit, you'll have another special board meeting or if it falls on a night where you already have a board meeting scheduled, you could do it then too. um where you meet an executive session. You would discuss how you thought interviews went. You would go over comment cards from um the forums and then you would discuss reference

call results at that point in time as well. And then from there um hopefully you feel ready to make a decision on who you would like to hire. >> Okay. But they could do like a whole day. Do the whole day and then and then have it on on books like have a special board meeting the next day >> if they if you want. I mean so >> I think we just talk it out >> that day. That day >> are we all going to like walk them around or do is it just of us all for >> So typically for the the like district tours it's like district office staff that tour them around. You're welcome to come if if you're available, but this tends to happen during the day and and we realize

that you might have a your job or something. Um >> Dan could post us a notice of porn, too. I just say they're touring with candidates. >> Yeah. Do you I mean otherwise it's Mar it's way till March. You don't want to wait. >> No, I think we do it all the same day. I think I think we plan for all the same day unless there's >> And what happens if it's like, okay, the forum's done at 10:00. We don't feel like we can. Can we just be like like and we've already put out the meeting notice for we can't >> you would have to you would have to have the meeting that night. >> Got to have it. >> We would make sure so we create the whole timeline of the day and we're

there ISBA is there uh on site making sure that everyone's staying on time on schedule. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So it would your meeting would should start ideally when you ask it to start. So >> shouldn't have a day long if we're saying yes. >> Yeah. How soon I I say we do another Thursday night for the actual meeting. >> I mean like how how soon can we do it? Like I'm available the 12th. >> Next Thursday. >> Thursday. >> Next Thursday. >> I don't know if that's is that going to be enough time for the candidates. >> So we I would recommend >> We've only got one that's coming. What about February 19th? >> Um, it would not work well for me. >> Why are you saying the 12th, Katie or Misty? A week

from now? I mean, because two of them are right next door. >> And the third one's >> The third one would be >> How far away, Shel? Like two and a half hours? >> That's what I was saying. >> I mean, if we do, it's tomorrow. We do the 12. >> I'll let them know this evening. >> Oh, see. >> Okay. So, so what that would be a week to get them >> enough time for you guys to get >> Yeah. Can you guys plan that and get the notifications to the community in time? >> So, just to clarify >> be interviewing. >> Yeah. We would interview them. Okay. >> In the morning probably. >> Yeah. And then they would go on their tour >> and then you'd have your district forum, staff forum, >>

then a community forum. And I don't know how >> could we do like a little like one's being interviewed while another one's on a tour and then I don't know. >> Well, Thursday mornings that's our cabinet meeting anyway. So having them come to >> that in the morning with you and Kelly and Steuart are all on cabinet. So you guys So there are four of you. Yeah. >> Me on Tuesday. >> Do Tuesday instead. >> Could we do the 17th? But that's day on the hill. 16th 17th is another day on the hill. >> I I can't do 16 school and I can't do school. It's President's Day. >> I mean >> we'd have to push it to the 24th if you have >> I I am available the 24th. So, Tuesday in the day

like a morning. >> Okay. What has to happen afterwards? Because I'm leaving town like the first week of March. So, like afterwards, do we like is there going to be things that we need to do after that date? >> So, if ideally what would happen after this is that you will hire the next person and then you'll be done. someone from the board would be nominated as the person to do negotiations. If you're going to be gone, I would just recommend it probably not be you. >> I'd leave till like the 5th or something. >> Yeah. >> Did we decide the 12th doesn't work though? >> Yeah. I mean, I like So that like for interviews, inerson interviews with him, JD can't come during the day. Oh, because you need Tuesday >> my whole day.

It's already scheduled. >> Tuesday. >> So, Tuesday the 24th. It would have to be Tuesday the 24th. >> I can >> not the 17th. Not the 17th. I guess I don't have to be there. >> Yeah. ISBA won't be here on the >> right now because they >> 24th. >> I can do the 24th. Okay. >> It's a Tuesday. >> Tuesday. >> Is that Oh, is that the cabinet meeting? So, is that good for you? >> No, it's good. Yeah, that's No, that's that doesn't affect anything. It's Thursday is a good day [clears throat] because they're already most of us are are the people those four people that you pick are already >> I guess I'm confused a little bit on then the staff part of it is added after school. That's after school. Also

we would have the would be after school >> staff and then >> the left would be the staff after school interview >> the Thursday >> Tuesday. >> Oh my gosh. Okay. >> I know we bounced to Tuesday now. >> You guys are so confusing. Yeah. So the 24th Tuesday we would do the like at 4 4:30 for an hour and then a the parent one um 6 or 6:30 6:30 to 7:30 something like that. >> What time do we have to start in the morning so that we understand what time we need to be here? >> That's up to you. Um >> is it the earlier the better? Like nine? It would it probably depends on how many schools you want to tour throughout the day. Um >> but they could tour first, right? And

we could interview them after that. >> We could like if we're trying to minimize time off of work for some people. >> Yeah. >> And we can adjust to whatever works for your guys for any of your schedules, we can I mean the schools will we can go anytime. We'll tell all of them. We may be at your school. We don't know depending on the time and they'll be like that's fine. >> How how much time do you think we're going to take to interview each candidate? >> Typically I um >> 45 minutes to an hour 15 is kind of the window I give. Um you'll find that 45 minutes moves really quickly for interviews. So I would recommend more towards an hour a person. They may not go the full hour. Um >> and

then if we have like um 10 minutes or a few minutes to chat in between. >> Yep. And that's what we recommend is that and we'll set up the schedule so you can see it all. But typically how we'll do it is interview candidate day 10 to 15 minute break um or 10 minute discussion, 10 minute, five minute break, however you want to do it. Bring in the next candidate. >> We could start >> discussion. We start our interviews at two and then we would be done roughly around 5 and then we're having our community forum like around six. >> Well, they're doing forum at 4. We have to wait till they're after school. If it was on a Wednesday, it's an early release. They're all done earlier. >> They're all done by Tuesday. >>

Start Yeah. Start at one 1 to 4 interviews. I would also recommend if you I would I would do all either the interviews all first or the tour first or the um don't interchange them because sometimes when they're out on the tour they hear and learn from staff like oh here's the issues they're facing. So if they're on tour with Kevin right Kevin if they're on tour with him and somebody else is being interviewed this person with him found out oh here's all the good and all the bad while this person being interviewed at that moment doesn't know all that. So, I just make sure they're all on the tour and then they're all, you know, >> the idea of the interview first, personally. >> Should we do the interview first and just do them

in the morning? And >> that' be my preference, too. >> I think that we should do it in in the morning and just be done and then they can go tour and we've done our part and we're done for the day. >> And anybody, any of us that want to go on the tour can still go if they want to >> form and then come back for >> I'm good with that. Like if we want to eight or nine >> seven. >> Did you say seven? I gota >> I have a kid to get to school. >> It would have to be eight. I would say eight or nine would be a good starting point. >> Nine or 10. >> They've got to get I mean they're they're we've got to get the Shelley Idaho

guy over here. >> He probably come the night before. >> That's what I was thinking. >> And we could maybe put him last so that he if he wants to come in the morning, he could come >> in the morning or something. >> And those guys are right next door. So I don't think I don't think I don't think it really matters they do their tours in the morning as long as they're together >> if you do the interviews though first. And so I think Missy has a great point though >> um that then you're not hearing some stuff that they're just kind of information. >> Yeah, I feel like it thinks we should start at 9. That way we're done by 12 and >> I like then they have 12 to 1, one to

two. That gives them like three or four hours. Not that they need all that, but then that gives them plenty of time to go see. >> Take them around to the schools. We could take them to lunch. >> Feed them a school lunch. >> Skim them feed them. >> School pass. >> I know. >> Unless it's cinnamon rolls. >> So, we could do that in the afternoon and then at 4 um when everybody's out do the form. We could do that the staff form like over at Kuna High School. >> Okay. >> In the Kat. >> Is that available? Do we know if that's available then? We'll find out. We'll >> find out because it seems like it gets booked up. >> I know. But by >> or we can do FMS. >> True. Okay.

Yeah, we'll we'll find that out. And then >> the community forum if Yeah. There is something going on at the KPAC. We could use the comments. We'll we'll we'll find that out. >> Okay. All right. So, >> we would our special meeting to start at what? 7:30. >> What? Well, we're going to do the parent forum at 6:30. That way people work, they have time to come. >> 6 or 6:30. >> So, would probably be done by 7:30. So I guess meeting at what 8 or 8:30 just to be safe >> if you do 6 because I mean when we have our superintendent advisory and that they come at 6 they come they get here >> 6' be here by 7:30. >> Yeah. >> I think that's fair. >> Okay. Then the board will go

straight from if you're at the assuming you're at the community forum and you'll have a a notice of quorum posted, then you'll go straight to wherever you want to have your executive session at and I'll bring the comment cards and then we go assuming you do comment cards if you'd like and then we go through those in executive session. But like it's we just move through the evening um getting through all of those and then you'll deliberate. >> Okay. I like 7:30 and I def I would think that comment cards would be great. I would love comment cards. >> Yeah, that's helpful. I think another thing we Sorry, I'm like just talk because I'm like I'm the one doing this. I'm [laughter] ready to go. Um, another thing that we do is we will um

if you'd like we contact the candidates and ask for their photos and create a like a a short paragraph bio. We put your school district header and everything on it, make it all branded to your district. Um, we have them review it first and then we bring it to you guys and then you can distribute that to your community, put on social media, basically inviting everyone. We want your feedback. We want you to attend. Please join us. It's really a way to include the community and that sounds great. I love it. >> It's a good idea. >> Sounds great. >> And you can put that bio you say on like our social media so even people that can't come will see it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, we need a motion to set this

date, right? Okay. >> I make a motion that we have this meeting on February 24th. Starting interviews at 9. Um >> then doing campus tours. >> Yeah, campus tours. And then four is the teacher forum and six is community forum and 7:30 is our executive session meeting. Second. >> Okay. Any further discussion? >> No. >> Kirsty. >> Hi >> J. >> Hillary. >> Hi. >> Okay. >> So from here who you who sends out the of the three that will come forward. How does that work? Tomorrow. >> So, I will leave the meeting this evening and I will notify the candidates that are moving forward that they're moving forward and I'll share with them that um the tours and I'm going to connect them with Misty too. >> Well, I mean like tomorrow do we

not I mean does it come from us that these three people are moving forward? Does Allison do that? Okay. I'm just trying to make sure we >> I would definitely recommend you like send an email or something to your staff just letting them know um so that they hear >> it's an open meeting so do you do a community post too or no? >> Yeah, [clears throat] I I would recommend it be like a social media if you want just >> on our Facebook. Just want to make sure >> you guys been so great and helpful. Yeah. Thank you very much for all of your time and help. >> You guys are great. >> I don't think we need that. What is it? Stipen >> the >> Oh, no. We don't need that. >> Not

personally. >> Is there anything else that we need to cover that you guys >> for you? I think >> I've got my list. [laughter] >> Motion that we adjourn. >> I second. Oh. >> All in favor? Hi. >> Hi. >> Cool. >> Good luck. >> I know. Exciting.
