Second. Agenda is approved. First up is our school spotlight, which we have the middle school fifth grade science. Dr. Williams, Mrs. Foster, and school board members, thank you for having us here tonight. I have asked Mrs. Colby Nelson to come. She's been doing some great things with putting writing in science, and so she's got some special kiddos here to share some of what they've been working on as well, and I'll let them introduce themselves. So, like Mrs. Crabtree said, I'm Mrs. Nelson. I've been at the middle school for about 3 years. It's my third year. I was with Mrs. Hester at Early Childhood, and now I'm here. Um and I have been teaching science while incorporating writing as much as I possibly can. Um but I'm going to let the kids introduce themselves real quick,

and then I'll jump into my short bit, and then let them share. Okay. I'm Bryson Moore, and in August in August we You can just say who you are. And my name's Bryson Moore. Okay, sorry. I didn't mean to put you on the spot. And I'm in fifth grade at the middle school. Uh I'm Kennedy Speer. Uh fifth grade in the middle school also. I'm Milo Fitz. I'm in the fifth grade. That's it? You're good. Great job. I don't know what to say. I'm not meaning to close my laptop. Sorry about that. Let's see if it auto connects. Yeah, I think we're good. Yeah, let's see. What are we doing? There it is. Okay, so as I already mentioned, I teach fifth grade science, and you might be wondering why should a science teacher take

on more? Well, at springtime last year, after our science scores came out, there's always room for improvement when you look at scores and data. So, we are looking at that data and looking to see how much time English teachers actually have to prepare students. And so, in the English classroom, if you don't know, they have tons of standards, reading, grammar, writing, the whole shebang. The elementary has Elementary seems to have a significantly more time, but still limited. But, once we got moved to the middle school, that was cut down due to the rotation of classes. And so, as a person with an elementary background, I knew that students needed this support, and I thought no better place than a science classroom because I can cross-curricular it. Meaning, I can incorporate writing into what I'm already

doing in the classroom. So, between lack of time, low scores, and desire to help, this is what led to where I am right now. Um so, how I got started is with any type of planning in the classroom, you want to take a deep dive into the standards to see what students actually need to know. What is the verb? What is the medium? What is the state expecting them to be able to do come the end of the year? That is really the driving force behind what is accomplished each day in the classroom. I created a kind of a rough outline based on the writing topics because I can't just focus on writing cuz I'm technically a science teacher, so I couldn't dedicate my full time to it. Um so, I had to pick and

choose. However, what I was able to pick and choose, I knew needed to be explicitly taught. Um at the level that the students come to us in writing, they need the direct instructions of this is how you write a topic sentence. This is what it should sound like. Let's practice together. Here's your time to practice on your own. So, they needed that direct instruction. After I created the outline, I had to create some of my own materials to differentiate it for their level of what they came to me knowing what to do. And then, we introduced a constructed response strategy. So, I started this back in August. Um, and we broke down it's really short answers. So, they read an article and they have a question where they type. It's not an essay is what

I've been working with all year. I've worked on those, but the main thing I've worked on from August until now is short constructive responses, which is reading question that's based on a text and picture, some sort of information where they can pull evidence from. And so, we've been working on that since August. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we did a narrative unit where they were taught how to write stories with characters and problems and settings and solutions and how to organize that in a five paragraphs. Um, we have updated our constructive response strategy expectations to become more rigorous from August until now. Because I feel as though as they develop their skills in writing and responding to these questions, their expectations need to be uh, higher. So, I can get them to a closer level of

proficiency. Um, and I do have a rubric, but due for time, I will just not share that today. If you're interested in seeing it, I can show you the before and after. Um, in August, they were scored out of nine, so it was very simple on how they responded. And now that we're towards the end of the year, they are scored out of 12 because as a grade in classes, we've discussed what needs to be included in a good response now. So, I took their input and we created a whole grade rubric based on that. So, now I'm going to let Bryson Moore come up and he's going to share a before and after. So, each one of the students tonight have a before and after and um, some may read them and some may

not. In August, 2025, we wrote about how cows and other grazing animals contribute to climate climate change. My my answer was, "Farm animals often release greenhouse gases Greenhouse gases trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere. This causes the planet to warm. One major greenhouse gas is methane. Cows and their manure release lots of methane. This gas traps heat and makes Earth warmer, causing climate change. I copied the entire text word for word. And in August? I mean, that was This is August 12th. Like, I had them date their papers. It was August 12th. So, um moving forward to an example I don't know why the photo doesn't show up, but there is supposed to be one in the open space. This is one that he did this week. This week we had the same question, same

article. Mhm. I wrote, "Cows and other grazing animals often contribute to climate change. By grazing, it may sound perfectly fine, but it's actually pretty harmful. For example, when a cow overgrazes, it damages the roots so it can't grow again. So, it can't grow again. When a cow uses the bathroom, their manure releases a ton of methane. Methane is a greenhouse gas, which gets trapped in the atmosphere, which causes global warming. This proves cows just being cows is actually converting Earth. So, we should stop overgrazing grazing so plants don't get damaged and global warming slows. So, as you can see from his before and after, there's a lot more and he didn't provide quotes, but he did properly paraphrase from the article. So, he did not copy exactly from the text. It was paraphrased this time.

And when big things that I tell students is we use something called CER. C is claim, E is evidence, R is reasoning. So, I can see his claim, which states his answer, his evidence, which is paraphrased, and his reasoning, which is wrapped up his answer. So, very good job, Grayson. I'm very proud of you. Very good. All All Mila, would you like to come up? Okay. As Bryson explained what we did, this is my CER answer from August 2025. Cows and other grazing animals contribute to climate change because their manure releases a gas called methane. Methane traps heat and makes Earth warmer, causing climate change. Okay. And then here is her after. In March 2026, six, this week, this is my CER answer. Cows and other grazing animals contribute to climate change by releasing gases

into the air. According to paragraph two under animal grazing, farm animals often release greenhouse gases. It also states, "Greenhouse gases trap heat in Earth's atmosphere. This causes Earth to warm. This shows cows and other grazing animals contribute to climate change as heat." And so, as you can see in her before and after, there is quoted evidence. She provides a citation as to where she found her specific evidence, which all of these things that they've improved on from August to now are things that the I DEEE rubrics, all the I learned stuff is looking for. So, this is very amazing. I'm very proud of them. All right, thank you, Myla. What's Yes, but >> thing I wanted to say, one thing I learned from her is that is that we can't take a quote from the

text, put it in What do they call it? Quote The quotation, right? Yeah. And um we can stop it and then add our own word to like the place the text that it says, and then we can keep on going for the text. So, kind of like what you did where you added this causes and then you have the remaining part of your quotation marks. Very good. Very good. Thank you, Layla. All right, can I Are you wanting to read yours? Okay. Yeah, I'm happy to hear that. In August 2025, we answered the question, "How do cows and other grazing animals contribute to climate change?" I answered this question very poorly. If they squat is too long, it will most likely kill or harm the harm the plants. Also, cows and other grazing animals give

off lots of methane, methane, which traps heat and gas that warms up the earth. Which I Yeah, I typed it how unless I have a typo of my own. I typed it how you guys wrote it. In March 2026, I answered that question by the way cows and other grazing animals contribute to climate change is negative. Due to these animals that releasing gases called methane. According to the heading animal grazing in the text, it states that farm animals often release greenhouse gases. These gases cause heat to be trapped in the atmosphere and makes earth get warmer. This demonstrates in that grazing animals such as cows releasing releasing greenhouse gases affect climate change very negatively. Very good. Yeah, I know I'm so excited they like make me tearful. So, with their before and afters, I hope

that you are able to see that the work that they have put in from August until now is definitely showing. And I do want to say we did spend about a month focusing daily on establishing this routine and the expectation, but once they were set, we just continued with our science curriculum and incorporated questions like this that were science-based into what we were I'm doing. Um moving forward, so what's next between now and the end of the year? We plan I got I'm going to finish a couple of science chapters and then we're going to wrap up the year with either an informative or research writing where I will be explicitly teaching them the steps of the each part of the research or how to properly find reliable sources on the internet. Of course, we'll

continue our constructed responses as a CER. And I just want to say all builds. So, whether or not if it's a constructed response as they develop those, they will take those pieces of evidence and turn them into their own paragraphs. And then it'll just eventually build into a longer essay. But overall, these kids have done a very good job. Do you guys feel like you've improved throughout the year? Yeah, it was very cool to see them look at their before and afters yesterday. And they're like, "That's all that I wrote. There's no quotations. I didn't even restate it." So, very proud of them. Yeah, yes. So, I just want to say thank you and yeah, they're working all all of the classes, not just these three. Everybody that comes to my door is working very

hard on these strategies. Any questions for our board members or any students? Yeah, just you guys all did an awesome job. It takes a lot to get in front of people, so I'm proud of all three of you. But thank you guys so much. Good job. Good job, guys. >> I am. I love it. Okay, moving on. This is our first section for citizen's comments. So, if anyone in the audience would like to address the board, now's your chance. Hearing and seeing none. Close of citizen's comments, and we move on to the consent agenda. First up is the minutes from the regular school board meeting held on February 19th, 2016. Recommendation? Thank you, Josh. Is there a second on the motion? I have a first and a second. All in favor, please say "Aye." Aye.

All opposed, same sign. All right, motion passes. Thank you. Next is finances. We have vouchers for and 113669. Mr. Jones? No additional information there. I just ask for your approval at this time. I'd be happy to answer any questions. So moved. I have a motion and a second. Second. I have a motion and a second. All in favor, please say "Aye." Aye. All opposed, same sign. Vouchers passed. Next up is personnel. Dr. Williams. Uh members of the board, I'd like to have a few personnel items this evening. There are resignations, retirements, and terminations. Teresa Nash, high school cafeteria manager, effective March 2nd, 2017. Amanda McClain, pre-K teacher, effective at the end of the 2015-2016 school year. Uh I'd like to thank Teresa and Amanda for their service to South Columbia, and thank you, uh Teresa,

and happy retirement. Also, under uh extended leaves, Alicia Bennett, instructional assistant, Central Elementary, is extending her maternity leave through the end of the school year. Under recommendations for hire, uh Alyssa Fellows instructional assistant effective the 26-27 school year, and then a voluntary transfer high school custodian Gary Pickett to the middle school custodian position effective August 1st, 2026. Under ECA hires, there are several assistant positions this evening for your approval. I ask for your approval of the personnel report as well. Thank you. Any questions? Discussion? Entertain a motion? I'll make the motion. Second? Second. All in favor of the staff? Aye. All opposed, same sign. Motion passes. Next item is discussion reports, and we'll start with Dr. Beaver with the principal instructional assistant. Members of the board, you received the official two-pager for the K-12 um

accountability rule. This was finalized um by the State Board of Education um March uh 4th, and I sent you um some resources via email either that day or the next day. Um but this two-pager is really the go-to. It shows how um each child will be um rated on the scale. And if you remember at recent meeting, I shared the pastel charts, some of the numbers therein changed, um and that can be seen in the slide deck that I shared um in a in a recent email. So, um I just wanted to basically share what we're doing at South Vermilion in light of the uh accountability rule to prepare what we've already implemented. First of all, Steve Baker is coming um joining us virtually to talk to our admin team uh in the morning, and

he spoke to the entire district at the February PD day about the coming accountability rule. So, now that it's final, he'll uh visit with the admin team. Uh we will be focusing intensely on attendance and the importance of that 94% Um district-wide. So, that will be an increased focus. Grade 3 through 8 will continue and amp up intentionality during MTSS time. That's intervention to target deficient skills. Middle school has been piloting the new math requirements in 7th grade and will be full all grade levels next year. Um the middle school students will create the 7th grade grad plan because that is something new. You can see that that is one indicator for an additional point for 7th graders to complete a graduation plan that year and it has to be signed by parents to count

for that additional point. Um and the high school will continue to focus on the credit recovery during the school day. That's a new program called Back on Track that Pierre implemented in January having great success. And we will for the first time at least semi-knowledge at South Vermillion administer the optional ILEARN US Government ECA because that is also an additional success indicator that our students can earn at the end of the government course. Any questions? You said optional? Uh state-wide it's optional to administer the ILEARN ECA in the US Government class at the end of each Well, they only offer it in spring. It's a semester course. We're requesting IDOE allow us to give it in fall to the students who took it in the fall because seems not very fair to only be able

to take it in the spring if you finished the course in So, that's our request obviously. It is an optional assessment. We do give the citizenship test that is required in that class. So, at the high school I I there's a 80-10-10 calculation. So, now does does everyone take the SAT? Mhm. Everyone takes it now. Okay. So, how like 60% would show proficiency? How do we score that? Do you have an idea of that? So, in terms of where the benchmarks will be, is that what you're asking? Like, how will they >> look at the last year's when this wasn't in effect, Yes. Do you know where the scores The scores. Yeah. And they've also talked about the two-tier system, right, Milly? Over the next what, 3 years? >> They're gradually gradually increase the metrics

and the benchmarks to allow schools the time and opportunity to put interventions in place to get to where you need to be. Um but they From my understanding, and correct me if you've seen something different, they are not utilizing the same um benchmarks that they use at the CCR level in terms of the accountability score. Yeah. So, the way um 3 through 8 have ILEARN assessment as their first column indicator, um the Attorney General, in conjunction with the IDOE board, um felt that that was that would be too punitive have SAT be the first column. So, all the success indicator Well, the the credits and the seals will be their first column at the high school level in 11 12. Like Like it shows there at the bottom, the key outcome on the left, the

SAT and so everything there, including the right-hand column, equals 80%. Then you get an additional 10% and additional 10% based on your graduation rate and the SAT will be averaged in together, the way the way it's outlined at the bottom of the 11 12 section. And this is year zero. Um one interesting thing is it's not this We're getting a grade this year, but it is for cohort 25 that we will receive our senior level grade. And so, we're coming up with the rules after we've already graduated the students. Yeah, essentially. And that's how it is because we're not certified on our graduate until the second first semester, the end of the first semester of your senior year, so. It's me. And And you said this Sorry, you said this, but so does the online

students, how do they figure in all this? >> They If they are a part of our school, they go into our metrics. Okay, just as any of those would apply there. If they're here 162 days, they're not then those students aren't counted. And members of the board, I'm going to provide just a quick update on some work that we've been doing this school year on getting our transportation system and Harmony to sync up and talk. So that one of our biggest problems we tend to have at the beginning of the school year is how parents know what bus their students ride, what time they're picked up, where the bus stop is, and so forth. It's been an ongoing year after year, and so we're trying to see if we can't solve that issue. So some

of the reasons why we've not been successful, or things that are kind of contributing to that, is that we've never really been successful in getting Harmony and Versatrans, which is our transportation system, to talk. The transportation system, we export a file every night to Versatrans, and it automatically fails if one record is not formatted correctly. It doesn't just fail that record, it fails the whole file. It also doesn't let us know that the file failed unless somebody goes out onto the server, which transportation doesn't have that access, it would have to be Jason and me, to go out to look to see if if those records have been successful. So transportation may not realize that parents have gone in and updated addresses or such. One of the reasons that it fails when our parents put

in their their addresses, for example, if they put the word ST period, it will automatically fail that file because it will not accept the punctuation in there. So, we have a lot of issues um getting clean data that goes to Versatrans from Harmony. So, that that's something that that we're aware of. Um also, the process for communicating if a parent has changed their address, uh they change it in Harmony, but it doesn't notify the transportation department. It only notifies uh the school's office. Sometimes parents call those changes in, but those changes don't get relayed to transportation or such. Students may just show up on the new bus. And so, we're that's one of our areas we know that we need to work on. Also, um back to school notifications for parents, if they update that

information, it's also not going to Versatrans because of that that failure in that file sync. And then, if we have a new student who enrolls, uh Michelle in the transportation department, they get a notification that they have a new student, but then they have to wait for the parents to go online to Harmony and complete all of their paperwork. Um they're not getting notifications though, once again, if the parents go in and they update that bus information. So, this is how the syncing is supposed to work between Harmony and Versatrans. Every night at 7:00 p.m., we have a file that exports out of Harmony with all of the bus information, the pick up, the drop off address. Um if the parents or if the students are going to use transportation, a.m., p.m., both, or no

transportation. And so, that all should be syncing over to Versatrans. Versatrans um should see that there are new students who are unrouted. There's a pop-up that immediately opens and says these new students are routed. So, then they can see we have new students we need to get uh put onto a bus. And then, uh transportation puts them uh onto the proper bus and uh fills out all of the the information, who the bus driver is, what time is their up, their drop off, and so forth. And then every morning at 6:00 a.m. that file from Versatrans is supposed to push out to Harmony. Harmony imports that information. It goes to the necessary fields in Harmony with that information. Some example screenshots, this is from Harmony Family Access and we have student on the left. This

is where parents would log in to update their bus information. It currently has some existing data in there. I'm so sorry. I thought I got it. But they It has the existing information, so at any time during the year the parents go in and if they can change that information, what is the pick up address, what is the drop off address, and if there's child care information. And then there's a second one on transportation usage. Do you have Do you require a morning pick up and an afternoon drop off, both morning and afternoon, and then don't plan to use that. Again, when parents update this information, nobody is notified that a parent has gone in and updated. It just updates the fields in Harmony, but nobody knows that they've made those changes. If the files

aren't syncing, then it's not going over to Versatrans. So one thing we've proposed and Harmony has said that it's something that we can do as part of paperwork at the beginning of the year, pull this information out from the Harmony registration paperwork and create our own through a Google Form asking them those same questions. We can set up an extension that sends an email to the appropriate people letting them know the information was updated, and instead we can put that information into Harmony or we can import it from that Google Sheet. And then another one again, that invalid data import from Harmony to Versatrans. Again, when those parents fill out that information. If somebody doesn't go and check that information, which requires a lot of additional work, we've given the secretaries and transportation as well.

They have a listing of all of the appropriate abbreviations for all of the different streets, avenues, lanes, and so forth. And the parents, of course, don't know that. Sometimes there's not punctuation, sometimes capitalization, so forth. Again, that file fails. So, what we're going to do for this, we have a system called ClassLink. I presented on it before. But, that's our in-between system. It's our where everything goes to and then pushes to all of our programs. Jason has been working on getting um a a process set up so that it cleans that information from Harmony, fixes all of those addresses, fixes anything that Versatrans will automatically reject, and then we'll push it from ClassLink to Versatrans. So, it will be an in-between system. And same thing for Versatrans to Harmony, we'll have that in between in

ClassLink as well. So, right now what we're doing, we have pulled out all of the files from Harmony and Versatrans dealing with bus information. And both systems have valid data and outdated data. So, it was kind of like, which one do we start with? Well, instead, we're putting it all together in one file. I've sorted it based on student ID so that we have a Harmony record, a Versatrans record right on top of each other with all of those files. And the transportation staff is currently going record by record, looking at the two records, and merging them into one correct record for every student. Once they're maybe halfway through that record, it's been a really long and slow process through the school year, but we want to have that done before the end of the

school year. Once we get that done, we're going to put that data into Harmony. That will be our clean information, and then we're going to push that into Versatrans. The bus drivers have also been looking at their route sheets. They have been updating those manually, giving those to the transportation department so they can use those as well to update this spreadsheet that they've been working on. This is an example of a spreadsheet. Sorry it's so small but there's a lot of columns in them. But you can see at the top this is uh the beginning data. So you can see we have Harmony, Versatrans and so this would be the same student here. And the top record is what's in Harmony. This is their pick-up address. And of course that information is not in Versatrans

but they have what the stop is. So that's what you see when they're putting those two records together into one. They've got the pick-up times, Harmony does not, and so forth. And then down below you'll see these are the records that have been completed or cleaned. Uh they've marked those green and they've put the data onto one line with all of the necessary data. So slowly but surely we're getting all of the information. Next steps, we're going to schedule a meeting with transportation, with all of the building secretaries, and with uh Mrs. Shannon. And we're going to talk about that process of back to school registration. Uh what it looks like, where we have issues, how can we communicate better amongst ourselves and with families so that it's not so stressful trying to call the

transportation department, what time is my bus, and and so forth, and get that information out there to parents easily. And um this is what it should look like when parents log into Harmony. There's a bus information. We currently have it turned off because there's nothing there. But you should be able to log into Harmony, see um and we'll get bus drivers in there as well, but the bus number, where the pickup location is, and what time that bus is picking you up. So, that's our um that's kind of been our year-long goal, and and we are getting there. Any questions? Thank you. So, ladies, this is a gift. Oh, sorry. Miss You I told you I So, at your place thing you see you have the attendance trends. So, what I did is I used

to give you the attendance insight. So, I merged these both together. So, you'll have what's highlighted is the current uh attendance insight, and then below that is the what what you've seen in the past months. So, I'll just keep adding to that so you can see where we're currently we're at and where we have been with our attendance. So, with the overall attendance, they're probably absenteeism and the truancy. So, it's two-sided between the state and these four buildings. Which again, just kind of reiterate what Dr. Beaver said, attendance is very important, and we will be getting that message out to students and to parents. At the end of this school year, I'm looking um at a focus for next year. Okay, sorry. Yes. So, any questions regarding attendance? Okay, also at your place setting you

have save the date. This is our official uh flyer for Unfiltered, whatever parent needs to know about the digital world as Mrs. Fossie spoke about it last month, but I'm just giving this to you as well and just emphasizing the importance of attending this um April 28th at the high school. If you can share it with as many adults as you can, um I did sit through the presentation at North Vermillion last fall, and it's it's just I I just can't say enough about it. It's just remarkable. It's just what every parent, every adult needs to know about the internet, and so, you'll just share that, Um that's all I have. Now it's your turn. Um so to start with some updates real quick, um we should have this in your work packet as well.

Um the water boiler project for high school um was open the day we did the installation done over break and and they did. So the pipe installation is done. That project should be wrapped up. Um we should get final invoice before too long. As far as I know, it's it's working great. I haven't had any issues. Um the middle school chiller due to the weather and a few other things, it did not happen over spring break. Um this new chiller the out the water tank is located outside where before it was inside the building. So watching temperature, watching you know, make sure we're safe from freezing before and things like that. Um and then trying to coordinate you know, signal more train and then everybody together to get the startup going. Um but right now

that's that's scheduled for Tuesday morning. So at the end of Tuesday it should be up and running and then we should be good. Um I know today was probably So hopefully it's I hope by Tuesday by the end of the day we're we're good and that's up and running and then we should be Should we give them a report? Um then we jump into some athletic facility updates. Um cuz obviously as I'm here, sports are getting spring sports are wrapping start of spring up and trying to go through and update some things. Not spend a whole lot of money but just giving facelifts to certain things. Um trying to make the facilities look nicer. Um so we start with the baseball field. Um and we did the same with the baseball, softball, and football press

boxes. We kind of went through, cleaned them up, put new flooring, put some paint. Um the baseball field we did new infield mix outside this year. Um, so you'll notice when you drive by there it's it's red. Um, so it's more of a softer, more of a forgiving surface for the first players. Before when they would slide into it would it was kind of rough. Um, so we we got a base coating this year and we'll keep on with this in the next coming years and and build a a good platform where it needs to be. Um, we did the same with softball. We put a new top dressing on that field. Um, we've also did new paint, flooring, lighting, and everything inside the press box. Um, I'm installing a camera and Wi-Fi to the

press box which I'll bolt tomorrow so they can stream games. Um, they'll stream baseball and softball and that's for Mr. Glenn and the sports network over at the high school. Um, out at the football field, we're still kind of in progress with that one. Uh, they just finished paint today. We ripped the flooring out. Um, it had some extensive water damage up there. Um, they had to put the wood in and glued it in and it wasn't sealed up right so we we had to go through and have some insulation added and some more right now and kind of replace some things. Um, sound system has been installed. Tested it today. We'll go over training with the athletic directors over tomorrow. And they'll know how to use the system because it is it's completely different

than what they used to have. Um, but hopefully within the next week I get the flooring wrapped up in there. Uh, lighting and everything else that way it's it's ready to go. Um, we did have an issue out there with there's a step down transformer that feeds the concession stand. So it takes it from 480 V to 120. Um, that did fail. So we're going to have to get someone to replace that for us. So concession stand will be back up and running. Um, kind of an unexpected expense but it's one of those that we kind of have to have. Um, so we're going to get that taken care of pretty quickly. Uh, out at the tennis court, they have installed all the nets on every court. Um, so that that should get us 3

to 5 years out of all of those. Um, I'm trying to build and plan ahead for the next couple years as far as projects that we can take care of and keep them in rotation. So. And then lastly, we put out some request for proposals the other day. Those were lawn care maintenance, pest control services, refuse and waste services, and then fire inspection, fire system inspection and maintenance services. I believe the deadline on that was April or April 24th. We only accepted three proposals. So, I'll kind of keep an eye on those as they come in. We'll uh follow up in the morning. Probably at the main main board meeting you know, soon. That's where we'll follow on those. So. Try to cut costs where we can and try to be efficient with everything. If
