The next regular scheduled board meeting will be Monday, March 16th, 2026 at Wab Bash Middle High School auditorium at 6:00 p.m. That will be the first of our Kathy Swan awards meetings. There's some items of communication. Old business board to adopt the following policies after the second reading of each policy. Uh we've got one policy 4010 enrollment updated. The first one, policy 4010, is being updated as a result of our recent state board of accounts audit. Major revisions included removing language that required students to live in our district to attend Wabash city schools. We have also added language requiring families to provide proof of residency and this is required by Indiana law. Um, policy 6103 6013 is a new policy and is also a result of our recent audit. It outlines how we will manage our federal grants and compliance with all applicable laws. It includes internal controls over allowability, cash management, procurement, conflicts of interest, equipment management, reporting and certifications. It also

mandates audits and corrective action for any findings and it ensures staff training for federal grant administration and establishes procedures for reporting sub suspected misuse of federal funds. And the final policy number 3150. This is an updated policy. Um Mrs. Callahan has worked with the state transportation director at the IDOE to ensure that our policy is current. she learned that there are 11 federal guidelines that we must follow in regards to employees with the CDL. And so our previous policy was missing several of those guidelines. The updated policy now covers the 11 guidelines. And we do have copies um if anyone would like those. Um we'll also have them available at central office if anyone would want to look at them. >> Discussion from the board. Questions? >> Okay. All those in favor of approving the

Items from superintendent. >> Um I do want to share a bit of info about last week's student walkout. Um this was a student-led event and not run or led by any of our staff members. Um we calculated about 2.4% of our middle school high school students participated chose to participate. um those that participated knew that there would be consequences and many

of those were addressed today. Um so just wanted to share that with our community. Mr. Blossom, do you have anything that you'd like to add at this point? >> Uh no, you know, I think our student body as well, so it wasn't a disruption to the regular school day. Those students left property um didn't demonstrate or anything on school property at all. Um, so our our school day was able to to proceed and kids get to learn and were distracted and that's the the primary thing that that needs to happen. >> Okay. Um, want to say good luck to our boys basketball team as they take on Eastern tomorrow night in the first game at the Manchester sectional. I believe our boys play at 6 p.m. I also want to mention our esports team at

the middle school and high school level. They start competition in the Indiana Esports Network playoffs today. And our middle school Super Smash Brothers team is ranked second in the playoffs, while our middle school Rocket League is ranked seventh. And at the high school level, our Super Smash Brothers team is ranked number one in the playoffs. And the Rocket League team and the Unified Rocket League team are also ranked number one. So, we want to wish good luck to all of our esport athletes. I do want to give a plug for the Kowana's pancake day happening this Saturday. As the president-elect, I am in charge of the event. This is our largest fundraiser of the year. So, we hope that many people come out and enjoy some pancakes and sausage this Saturday. Tickets are available at

the door for $11 for anyone 13 or older. Children 6 to 12 are $6 and children five and under are free. The event runs from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and we do have takeout available. Uh, and then the last thing I want to mention is the Waw Bash Honors Band and Choir concert will be held at the Honeywell on Friday, March 13th. Um, I get to be the MC this year for that event and that concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and it is a free event. >> Okay. Items from administrators. Okay. Um, items from visitors, items from board members. We will start with Connie. >> I don't have anything. >> Okay, Jason. >> Uh, February 27th, the unified team, uh, sorry, unified robotics team went to Indiana Wesleyan for their first ever competition for

high school robotics. and uh they went and got first out of the five five schools there. So, I thought that was pretty cool um for them to go and do that. I know they've worked hard. Um and so I also wanted to say thank you for this administration and uh Dr. ly for how they handled the information we received um about the walk out and uh for all the communication to parents um and encouraging parents to talk to their students um about how to handle and how to respond to situations like that. I know I did to our kids um so it's one of those things that you could you can do as a parent is to to talk to them and encourage them to respond how you would like them to as a parent.

Um, so I wanted to say that and um, just thank you for for how you guys responded to the situation that is not normal in our our little school. So, >> okay, >> Jay, um, I would like to update H Heartland did we did pass the um, precision a farming the 32 acres out there. Okay. Um, so I'm excited to see the updates um as to how they are going to do that and how it's all going to unfold. Um, but we did officially they did um pull out of the original lease and we've got we didn't find um sign a formal agreement, but they're just going to kind of keep updated um I did recommend they put their policies on paper. >> Yeah. >> Um to kind of guide how they're doing that, but

we did um approve that at the last meeting. That's all I have. Okay, Joe. >> Um, there's a park board meeting next week, but going on to school next week also, starting on Monday, there's a book fair in the library. Everyone's welcome to come. There's a family night on Tuesday night and it'll go until six o'clock. So, it's a great time to get like Easter basket fillers or things for spring break for your kids to do. So, let's join in at the book fair at the library, middle school, high school. >> Okay. And I've got nothing new for the library. I think I announced last week we have a new library director. So, if you haven't met her, go in and meet her, Deborah. Um, and I also should say that if you don't have

a library card and you are within city limits, it's free. Go in and get one. >> So, with that, we'll adjourn. Thank you.
