Good evening, everyone. I'm excited to say that the month of November was filled with soft success. For the second year in a row, the Sopi Valley football team has won the eightman small
sport sportsmanship award. Um, we're very proud of them, obviously. The JRTC students put together a splendid Veterans Day ceremony honoring our community's veterans. The JCL students attended the Southern Maine Junior Classical League fall convention where they spent the evening celebrating the ancient cultures of Greece and Rome. And the production of Radium Girls went off without a hitch with all four performances having an outstanding crowd turnout. December has many upcoming exciting events. On the 9th, the Saki High School Chorus will be having their annual winter concert at the middle school at 6:30. On the 11th, the JRTC students will be hanging Reese at the Riverside Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. to support Reese Across America, a nonprofit organization that places wreaths on the graves of fallen veterans. On Friday the 12th, the high school will be having
their annual winter semiformal. More details are yet to come. On Monday the 15th, students will have the opportunity to attend a field trip to the University of New England to see a gross anatomy lab. And last but not least, the spring musical has been announced as Hades Town, a musical based on the ancient Greek myth of Urity and Orpheus, where Orpheus must travel to the underworld to retrieve his deceased wife, Uritysy. Auditions will be held the first week of January, and attended show dates are the weekend of March 27th. >> Thank you. Thank you for that. The five town revenues have all been received and recorded and revenues uh, as
they typically do continue to exceed expenses with expenses being in line with budget. Food service and you look at a scary number is behind where expenses exceed revenues. as we have the past few years, but we certainly anticipate catching up as the year moves on. Very common practice that we're behind to start the year and adult ed revenues ex uh exceed expenses earn in line with our adult ed budget >> um facilities report on the November. >> So I can take that one uh too uh two items we've been talking about for for quite some time. the septic tank. Uh John and Mr. Brontes attended this meeting. Uh the septic tank uh was being repaired that week and I believe at this point the elementary septic has been fully repaired. Our high school uh varsity
boys baseball dug out has also been repaired. We had talked about that for a couple of meetings and football has decided to uh redo the practice field as the board uh construction heard about in the springtime. Uh little cold probably to plant grass now. So they are deciding to wait on that. The big one that that we wanted to talk about related to policy, our construction committee looked at temperature standards for schools, policy EBBD, uh primarily in mind uh with the optimal comfort zone for teaching and learning, a minimum of 68 and maximum of 82 degrees. Uh they thought that was reasonable uh with no additional uh above and beyond by three degrees. So long story short, uh they agreed with policy that that those were the right numbers. I know policy Allison in the
state was looking for instruction weigh in. They have and they feel like that policy made sense. You can certainly there's a couple of the members here if they want to add any more but had a great discussion around that with Johnny and that's what they felt like was appropriate. >> Um no curriculum meeting to report on next meeting is January 14th. Wellness, no [clears throat] meeting. Next meeting is February 2nd. Uh Lake Region Vocational. Um shout out to Mr. Wolf who prepared notes for us. Uh meeting was on Friday, November 21st, um at Lake Region. They toured the health occupations program, which I think last month I mentioned they tour a different program um for behind the scenes each meeting. um and had conversations with students, including two from Saki Valley High School about their
current career plans um and how that program was helping them with those. Uh discussion about CNA standards and justification for credits. Um and student services coordinator is still out. So staff has been meeting in groups um to work on things that this that Walter Ridland would typically be working on. Co-op program discussion uh was brought up with a status update. There is a new instructor now in their second year uh and attendance seems to be uh improving and kids are um pleased with the direction of the program under the new um staff member Mr. Warren. upcoming meetings uh in February and May to make six meeting requirement but they have not been set yet. So then, um, question. >> We not have a meeting this month. >> Um, committee meetings, >> yeah, >> are schedu. Typically in December we don't have committee meet and so on typically. >> Yeah. >> So was that incorrect that December 10th? >> Yeah. Is that >> it's been our historical Yeah. It's up to our committee chairs but historically they >> just automatically went >> so we can do [snorts] whatever you want. >> Yeah. We certainly can, but historically we haven't had December committee meetings. But >> I was going to tell you after that I'm not going to be able to be here for the 10th.
[laughter] >> There you go. >> So policy those policy probably not happening on December 10th. >> That's what just seemed to happen. >> January 4. Yeah, December's always been tough. Think of that >> as you can see tonight without know it's just the season and it's been tough to get folks. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. Then um an action item consideration to enter into executive session to discuss labor contract negotiations pursuant to one MRSA subsection 4056D. >> So >> Don Joanne. >> Right. All in favor. Okay.
