001I'm Officer Price, school resource officer here at Cedar Springs Public Schools. Been with the Kent County Sheriff's Office now for going on 8 years. Been in law enforcement for 15. My family started to begin growing and we have two children now. Grew an interest in looking into the SRO position and one came available. So, a typical day in the role of an SRO is I could be at the little school all the way down to safety aspects as far as knowing who's on campus, monitoring events, open doors, coordinate safety. I think one of my favorite things about this job is the personal relationships that you get to develop with these kids, learning about their home life and avenues that they want to do and helping them, being a part of keeping them safe and giving them guidance throughout life, just not in the aspect of a consequence as a police officer. Starting out 15 years ago, I never saw myself in the role as an SRO. The more I get relationships with these kids, I I want to maintain that, meeting their siblings as they come up through the district. My intentions are to be here as long as the Sheriff's Office allows me to be here. I'm Officer Price and I'm a Red Hawk.
