001I'm Eddie John's, [music] assistant principal at Cedar Springs High School. I had taught in H Hotton Lake for four years and as we were starting our family, wanted to move back to West Michigan. Cedar Springs [music] had a posting for a science teacher. Kind of dove in couple weeks before school started. Really [music] liking the people here, especially in the science department and getting to know more and more of the school kept me here these last 10, [music] 11 years. As assistant principal, what I do is behind the scenes with schedules, teacher observations, with checking with students, really working on the culture pieces of [music] the high school dayto-day. My job can entail everything from opening up doors for classrooms for [music] study hall or checking in on staff and students throughout the day. A little bit of everything. Never had two [music] days that were exactly the same, which I think is a good thing. My favorite thing in this role is being able to get into classrooms and learn from other teachers. Working at Cedar [music] Springs has just allowed me to experience a lot of different things that a school this size can offer. We have [music] a lot of students that leave here and either head into the workforce. We've had students go to the [music] Ivy League schools. We've had students that will get involved with really creative, [music] innovative research projects. So, that makes this place really special. I see staying in this role [music] for a good long time and someday moving to a principal role. I'm Eddie Johns and I'm a Red Hawk.
