0016 o'lock. I am now going to call the January 202nd, 2026 Kingsbury Country Day School Board meeting to order. Um Ally, could you please take the role? >> I sure can. Uh Jody Penbury, >> good evening. >> Sandy Buckley >> here. >> Adam Stewart is absent. Kyle Jackson is absent. Dora Higgby >> here. Mike Elick. >> And we have a quorum. Just have a quorum. So, good evening. At this time, um I don't see any students here >> with a change I come in. >> That's fair. This is again our board meeting was initially um canled from last week due to weather. So, this is our makeup meeting. Um and I do know that we have some students who've got athletic events. So, I know that there's a lot going on in the community. So,
002at this time, I am going to ask though that everybody stand up and we can lead ourselves in the uh pledge of allegiance followed by the Kingsberry pledge. I'm gonna let Miss Warden lead us. Are you ready? I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Kingsbury pledge. You guys have your coffee. [laughter] >> Okay. I pledge to be respectful, responsible, and safe. I will work hard to be my best as a student of the community. I have the power to make a difference in the world. >> I like the kid show up because I like so loudly about it. >> So hopefully next month we'll be able to get back to
003that. >> Um all right. Thank you. At this time I'm going to ask if there's any public comment regarding the agenda items only. Seeing no public comment regarding the agenda items only, I would ask for either an um amendment to the agenda or an approval of the agenda as is. I would entertain. >> So moved. >> Move to approve as is >> by Sandy. Is there a second? >> Is there a second? >> Dora seconds. Is there any further discussion regarding the agenda? No further discussion. All those in favor of approving the agenda, please say I. I. >> I. Any opposition, please say nay. Hearing no opposition, the approval of the agenda passes. It is complete. Um the marketing communications presentation again I think with the change of the evening uh because or we were
004originally scheduled for last week. Um that isn't available this evening. So, I would uh move to table the item number six, marketing and communications presentation until next meeting, which I believe is February 19th. All right. Is there a second? Jody move and Mike seconded. Is there any further discussion regarding the marketing or communications presentation? All those in favor of tableabling that and having it on the agenda for next board meeting, please say I. I. >> Any opposition, please say nay. Hearing no opposition, the marketing communications presentation is tabled until the February 19th. >> Ask who first and second and that I apologize. >> Uh Jody first second. Thank you. >> Um so that will be on our agenda for the February 19th meeting. Thank you. And now item seven, approval of our November 17th, 2025
005meeting minutes. Um I will entertain a motion to approve those minutes. >> So moved. >> Sandy moves. Is there a second? >> Second. >> Mike second. Is there any discussion regarding those meeting minutes? Hearing no discussion. All those in favor of approving the November 17th, 2025 meeting minutes, please say I. >> I. >> Any opposition, please say nay. Hearing no opposition, the November 17, 2025 meeting minutes are approved. Um board correspondence. Um, I did receive a um, email from Angela Irwin, who runs some leadership training for board members. I did forward that to all board members. Um, and it is January, so it's that time of year where we're going to want to start making sure that we are uh getting the additional training for board compliance through SDSU. That meeting I believe was February
00610th, Tuesday, February 10th at 7 PM. Um, if you want to look, if you look at the email there, you can register right on it. Um, I've attended a few of her seminars and they areformational. >> Is it um she's the woman that we went to the training at Chatfield a couple years ago. >> Are we zooming them or >> those are Zoom? Good. >> Yes. Um, and sometimes if you I had an exper I had a situation where I did register for one. I wasn't able to make it live, but she did send me the um the recording the recording for it. Yes. >> So um >> because this year we aren't doing the um the strategic planning like we did last year which um worked as our our board training. So we want
007to make sure that we are on top of that. If there's any questions with that, please let me know. Um is anybody aware of any additional board correspondents at this time? Um, we did receive and I believe it's in the agenda the SPSU um the >> annual academic report. >> The academic report as well as the um the member >> that one was received after the board packet. So I'll plan to put it into the next one. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Uh any other forward correspondence? >> Okay. Uh financials November and December 2025 financial statements. >> So it's on highlight sheet. Did you want to talk about it? You want me to talk about it? There's nothing shocking or alarming in here. >> Um, you know, we continue to um move, excuse me, continue
008to move along. We are going to have a revised budget for next month. >> We don't have it for this month. So, but our our cash balance stays good. we didn't have to take any money out of our money market account. Um, and I think, you know, subsequent to this, we were moving some student activities money back into the general fund. >> Um, which which I think has happened since we published the the financial highlight [snorts and clears throat] sheet. Um, but you know, as as we look along, everything is going the way we thought it was going to go. Um we have um you are sitting on a balance sheet of 55 um 128 there's there's just no surprises so I don't know um the November state aid was based on 2425 enrollment but
009we're going to have an adjustment made um looking back at the December state for 2526. Um, but other than that, unless anybody has any questions about anything you saw in the financials that we want to talk about, >> Sandy, you asked a good question at the finance committee regarding 31A and so I want to call that out if that's okay. >> Yeah. Can you speak up maybe a little bit? >> Yeah. So, uh, 31A, as you remember, this board chose to opt in. Um, so the initial or the they do a lump sum payment, uh, that came at the end of December at just over $54,000. [clears throat] sets for school mental health and safety. Uh and then um if you recall uh part that money was allocated at a certain amount and then it
010was to be distributed amongst all those schools that opted in. Um there were actually a about 50% of schools opted in. Um and so what that looks like is in February we're expecting the shore up of that pot was to be evenly distributed per student. um initially at 240, but we'll see um they're saying that uh in February that we'll receive in our state aid payment the additional funding um for those that did not opt in. So um we'll let the board know when those uh funds come in and you'll see it in your highlights. >> Cool. >> And a little off topic, any other updates on 31 day overall? >> Um no. Well, yes. Uh, thank you. So, uh, what we did see is a large group of schools opt in, um, after opting
011out in November. They opted in in December, um, because there was, uh, litigation regarding the language in 31A. Um, they did lose in the first round. They do have an appeal out there. They did appeal for the Michigan state constitution that it violated it as well as the federal constitution. uh in their in the response, the Fed said, "We are not going to rule until the state rules. We're going to sit back." Um they have still elected to stay back because there's an appeal against the language for the Michigan Constitution that's been filed. However, um many schools did have uh kind of a extra component to their opting in that said that if they lost that legal battle um that they would opt back out, which is why we saw a lot of schools drop
012back out of the uh opt-in agreement. Um and so those that opted out don't don't have the opportunity to opt back and should [clears throat] the appeal actually come out in favor of for this year. So those funds that were there are only eligible to the district. >> So we're thinking the least we'll get is a little bit more than $50,000, but there's some upside potential. >> Yeah. >> And we won't know about that yet until >> until February. Yeah. Because we have the numbers of schools, ISDs and private schools that was eligible for um private schools were eligible. Um but because it's based on allocated on student count, we don't we won't know until the dollars come. Okay. >> Mhm. Thank you for asking that question. >> Right. So >> again, thank you as
013always to be following up and making sure >> and they are. >> Anybody else have anything? I'm sorry. All >> did you also want the fund balance percentage? Did he >> he provided it? Yeah, it's 37. >> Okay. So, I know that's a number that's near and dear to Dora's heart. >> Yes. >> So, I think that's still >> I think it's Santa. [laughter] >> Yep. Yep. >> Even though like I mean for full disclosure, I mean, we still have that negativity where we're we have to take a little bit out, but we have enough coming in that we're able to retain significantly because I know >> that's really important. I mean, it's >> Yeah. So I think it's a tremendously strong fund balance >> and when the state and feds we thought we might
014not receive payment you were comfortable >> we were one of the schools that was in healthy spot. >> All right. So at this time I would entertain um a motion to approve the November and December 2025 financial statements. >> So moved. >> Dora moves. Is there a second? >> Sandy seconds. It has been moved and seconded. Is there any further discussion regarding those November and December um finances at this time? Hearing no further discussion, all those in favor, please say I. >> I. Any opposition, please say nay. Hearing no opposition, the November and December 2025 financial statements have been approved. Um old business fundraising committee updates. >> Uh so round about the year, uh we are still looking at one additional event. Um Thor and I are putting the details together, but we'd be targeting
015uh March time frame potentially into April. Again, uh spoiler, it would be a bingo night. >> Okay. >> So, we'd be looking at potentially utilizing the gym. Um and then so still working out those details. Uh other items to note, we had some um transitions obviously within our subcommittee, but uh we would like to look into the fall here of um getting a monthly skate night uh started. I know that we had talked about it for this year and as I mentioned, we had some shifts. >> Um so more or less we would like to um kick that back off and see what we can do here for uh the next school year. Um and then also um as I mentioned uh last board meeting uh tenatively right now um we are looking at September
01621st for uh this year's golf outing. Um right now the plan would be um tentatively to to stick at Boulder Point. Um but uh but again we'll we'll look at other options too if we need to reconsider costs or um make sure that we're we're good from a fundraising standpoint. Um as we discussed uh last board meeting as well raised over 31,000 for uh 2025. The one thing that we would like to ask um from school leadership is a school needs list >> both for the remainder of this school year but also as we go into 2627. um just to help reinforce the me message out to the community of what our goals are and um help with obviously those donations to hopefully >> and why we're doing it >> where the money is going.
017Yeah. >> Yep. >> Excellent. Um any questions? Anything else about fundraising? I have a question. Are we going to do a postmortem of that golf outing and and a timeline and because I'd like to participate. I'm happy to participate in that. Yeah. Or I didn't know if I missed it. >> No, no, we can certainly do that. >> And then we can lay out a so we have we could start earlier asking restaurants and companies and everything else. >> So I've already started compiling our list from last year and then also looking at what other options that we have. So, um, Kim was a big help in generating that list. >> Maybe like a brainstorming session or something would be handy. And then that way we can also maybe have our timeline figure out when
018we want to have donations by and then maybe assign each board member a certain amount to try and reach out to the community as well as um you know because I know towards the end there was a lot of leg work to try and get some of those flags sold and um some of the the incredibly well. >> Uh you guys did it. But this year, let's give ourselves a little bit. >> There you go. >> I know. You know, >> we might ask for help from some of the room moms, you know, that can, you know, reach into their community or people have contacts that >> we sitting here don't know about, but we have so many parents that are so well connected in in our community. So, and if we know what the
019need is, then we know what we can reach out and support. [clears throat] So, I think that that's a good idea. And um I know can't talk to the members of the public here, but Kim, you would be willing to sit down and have that conversation as well. >> So awesome. >> Would you be interested in asking families to be active on that committee or we're just talking about potentially connecting? >> Let's get the framework first. >> Yes. And then we can >> Yeah. Okay. Thank you. >> All right. Um, so are you would you be good to send out a couple of dates that you have available and see if we could get um everybody that was involved to do that postmortem so that we can figure out because I know I felt like
020I wasn't doing very much. So I'd like to be able to [laughter] help out a little bit more. So um >> I'm that person that you tell me what to do and I'm going to get it now doing but I'm spinning. I don't know what to do. All right. So anything else with the fundraising committee? Anything? Well, good. All right. Um, and then with that needs list, um, because we do have that we, you guys did raise, we did raise the 31,000. Um, I would assume we're going to want to keep some back to cover costs for the future golf outing. >> That's what we need to discuss. >> But trying to figure out where we can help best help with the with some of those funds. >> Correct. >> Okay. Perfect. Yep. We're looking
021to self fund. Yep. >> Future fundraisers. >> Perfect. Okay. Very good. And then, um, Ally, you've already said you're good on that, Nikki. Okay. Great. Uh, new business education program. Yep. >> And that is going to be after your financials. >> Yep. Page 40. Is that a 48? It looks like kind of blurry. Um, so this isn't new. The format is what is new. Um, the meat of the document is exactly the same. I didn't change anything. SPSU had a different format that they requested at their um November leader meeting and um they wanted it presented to the board and approved by January leader meeting. So I just went in and I copied and pasted what we'd already presented in uh was that that's over the summer, right? That we did it. Um >> we
022did it last spring. So you said they didn't have a template then when we asked and they said [clears throat] >> we will make a template. So now they have a template. Um, >> so I just copy and pasted everything to fit it into their template and I didn't change any pieces of it. Kept it exactly. >> This was all based on our strategic planning that we had done throughout. >> No, this is what you do for education. Your ed program is essentially this is all the curriculum that you do and how you do it. So um the next time if just to kind of make that any changes with this, we would come to you when we request to adopt a new curriculum. So last year we had we had it the English curriculum
023that we did for middle school that's included in there because we adopted it at the same time. But should you uh adopt another curriculum as we have some pilots going, we would then tell SPSU would like a contract amendment and that's where you would see any changes. Other than that, you won't. This remains the exact same. >> Okay. >> Yep. Cool. Um, at this time I would entertain a motion to approve the education program um, as it has been presented. >> Sandy moves. Is there a second? >> Do I have seconds? >> Do I second? It is moved and seconded. Is there any further discussion about the education program that has been submitted? >> Did we miss the January leadership meeting? >> Uh, no. It's not a January leadership meeting. um for they asked me
024in November for to have the board approve it in January. So I think we're good. Yes. At your meeting. So we're good. >> We asked for an extension and we got it will be due tomorrow. [laughter] >> Yes, we're good. >> Is there any So no further discussion. All those in favor of the education program, please say. I >> I [laughter] all those opposed, please say nay. No opposition. the education program has um been approved. So the teacher resource request process which follows that ed program. >> It's it's not in here. I just wanted to kind of talk through that so that okay so that you understood. So um >> we haven't had a lot of processes for things um coming in and so we've established those. Um just like your charter contract says you
025have to utilize this curriculum and nothing else unless you're approved for a pilot. So, we do have a couple of those going. Um, but if a teacher does want a supplementary material or they want, um, sometimes there's digital programs that, um, teachers may want, uh, we do ask them to put in a request, they meet with, uh, Miss Sweren. Uh, we talk through and, and it's not a a very simple yes, we just provide it for you. Because if a teacher needs it, then we're starting to ask questions. Why do you need it? what are the holes that you're trying to fill because that's typically when they come and ask for those. Um, and if you need it, then does our other grade partner need it? Does our lower or above grade need it? And
026so, we just want to make sure that we're not um doing one thing for one classroom that we may need to ask more questions about whether or not it's a curriculum thing or whether or not it's we do need a supplement. Um, so teachers come to us um and then that's just done within your budget. It doesn't change any of your contracts and none of your supplementals do. Um but that would be then done through um through Nikki and it we would see if it's in the budget. If it's not then we may come and ask if we think it's a really big need um or it may be something that we look at budgeting for the following year. So um that question had come up the the board doesn't um you that just the
027budget that you provide for us and then we make that decision through talking with the teacher and the request and so on and so forth. So, um I just want to make sure that you were aware there's some things that just get approved based on the budget and then larger things that you'll see um in line items that we will come to you and ask for those individually. So, do you have any questions >> when you say how does that request start? Is there an application? Is there a form? >> There's a form that they fill out. >> Yep. And then um so they request that usually they've talked to Nikki about it and she gives them the form. Um there is some work to it because we do want to make sure that we're
028addressing whatever it is. Um right on and then uh and then she reaches out to finance and says is this in the budget [laughter] where do we have enough you know to do this for the end of the year based on the budget that the board has approved um and go forward with that. Usually those are smaller purchases but we just want to make sure we're not you know serving one classroom better than another. >> Yep. Yeah. Anybody have any other questions regarding the resource request process? TR RPM. [laughter] >> It's all acronyms. >> It is I, you know, just got to get those back in it. Or we can we [laughter] can start assigning somebody to create the acronym, >> right? >> Yeah. The book. You mean [laughter] >> the book? The dictionary. >>
029Okay. Um, so the 2025 2026 calendar amendment that's on page um I don't know >> it's it's blurry 58 maybe >> something8 the educ >> I usually have pretty good eyesight I can't read that >> it looks like it prints it over8 yes um so the two dates are highlighted and the reason I'm asking for the change is for two different reasons um we did in the fall we did backto-back um parent teacher conferences and feed back from the teachers was it was a lot. >> Um so this is separating it from um a Tuesday Thursday. So giving them a day in the break in the middle and it's still from 1 to six. Um the second piece is the eighth grade trip got booked on that same time and it wasn't caught until we
030looked at um the recent conferences. So, the move is to >> the proposed move are these dates, April 21st and 23rd. Currently, it's April 15th and 16th. So, I'm asking to just go one more. You have to plug it in at the brown one. Sorry, we're having power issues. Um, one more uh week beyond. >> We're still recording. We're good. It's up here. >> I think that works. What kind of >> No. No. The floor doesn't work. >> Oh. I don't want it to die. >> Yeah. No, I just don't want it to die. Difficulties. We're having We're preventing. >> Yes. Preventing. So, are there any questions about that? I'm sorry, board. >> Anybody have any questions regarding the change? >> While we're while we're looking at um the school calendar, is it is this
031a good time to ask a different sort of calendar question? >> Let's ask. >> What is our situation with snow days? I noticed um you know today in the sort of tri county area there's some schools that are apparently have run out of allocation of snow days. Could you share what our situation is? >> Yeah, so we currently have used five of our six allocated snow days. >> I know she said it's only two. Um so we have one more in the bucket. Um we can and correct me if I'm wrong. can ask for a waiver of three additional if we go outside of the six >> and that's through >> yeah that that's we have a new um state superintendent and they make those decisions in terms of accepting the waiverss. Um we learned
032of those back during the initial polar vortex. We a lot of us didn't know that those existed. Um but as soon as you go to day seven um we've got them all calculated on the on what the calendars and you just submit those and your reason why um and they give approval. Those would also be um there's no funding uh negative to having those days as long as they're approved. If they are not approved or we for some reason exceeded the nine should that be the case um then the state would say you have to uh add that time back to your calendar which usually looks like either end of the year or if there's PD days they may cancel those for staff and put kids in or if there's half days um prolong that
033and make it a whole day. You have to have 60% attendance on those days though or you can't count them. Um, so that becomes the when you add on to the end of the year, most people have vacations and camp scheduled. Um, so we do our best. Um, and then the state would just hold back a small amount of state aid if you don't make up the amount to make up your required 180 days. So, um it I have seen it happen in schools um where during the polar vortex where they didn't actually claw back in other years they do. Um but it's it's a small amount so that if you get if you can't get that 60% it doesn't drastically negatively impact your budget. It would be probably thousands of dollars but that's like
034smaller thousands. >> But I also think we've done a good job in terms of um going the way that Oxford, Lake Boy, and Rochester, all the local schools go. So, it wouldn't be Kingsbury situation by themselves. It would be the other schools as well, >> right? >> Most likely. Yeah, we're in the same spaces. >> A stronger position for us. >> That's how it was during the polar vortex, too. It wasn't like just one district um took it. So, yes, >> 181 or 182, I don't recall the exact. >> That's the other I'll check on this. We actually scheduled over 180. So you put a buffer. Yeah, you have a buffer in there. I traditionally do that. >> Situation is really your bottom line at this point. >> Yes, we are. >> Yes. But could
035we stop having them? [laughter] >> You will often hear that from an educator, but I think we're ready. >> Yes. Okay. Um, and just a public service announcement as we go into that hner in Oakland continually remains icy. >> Please call Oakland County Transportation. >> Please, please be careful. >> All right. So, at this time, I would entertain a motion to approve the calendar amendment for the 2025 2026 school year. >> Sandy moves. Is there a second? >> Second. >> Mike seconds. It has been moved and seconded. Is there any further discussion regarding the calendar amendment? Hearing no further discussion, all those in favor, please say I. I. >> Any opposition say nay. >> Hearing no nays. Uh the calendar amendment has been approved. >> Thank you. >> Archery summer camp. It's on the next
036page. >> Um so Mr. Varelum would like to add um this archery camp for summer. Um, and we're just asking for the board's approval to add. >> Does that sit on any other camps? Sometimes it does. >> It does overlap. >> Okay. So, here's my impression. Uh, we we threw out to to the staff and and the teachers to pull together camps. They had a deadline for November and a lot of people responded to that and they got their camps together. We've been publishing on a weekly basis a very well done color-coded calendar of camps. We're already pay collecting parent money and parents are registering for camps. I think if somebody does not have their camp together in time for the day, they can still create one but not on top of one that we've
037already approved. So, you know, I think, you know, Keith does a nice job and that's great, but maybe we need to find some different times. Okay, >> I'm not even suggesting it can't be on the same day. Like for instance, if there's a summer camp that goes from 9:00 in the morning till 2, maybe archery starts at 2:30 after the other ones can do both. But I don't think it's fair to penalize the staff that have, you know, gone to the trouble of creating opportunities for the kids. Published it three months ago to have somebody show up and say, "Oh, gee, I just realized summer's coming." Um, and that's okay. Um, but I, >> okay, >> my impression or my suggestion, and obviously we we need to discuss that, but I'd be a hard no
038on the dates and times that he has published right now. Okay. >> Because I don't think it's fair to the families, the community, and especially to the staff members that have, you know, created another opportunity in that time window >> and been responsible. Was there my knowledge? Was there a formal like deadline sent out to staff and everyone on that? >> Yeah. From Nikki. >> Okay. >> If we unplug that, it's going to kill everything. You can't. >> There were some other a couple [laughter] others um that you know had to subsequently you know get into you know get baked into what we were doing. But but this is way it was before the November board meeting was the deadline that Nikki had. >> Yeah. cuz I presented at the board. >> Yeah. >> And
039to come in and and last summer there w this happened with archery camp again where >> you got a whole big summer. There were four weeks or four weeks of summer camp at Kingsbury last year. >> Yeah. It was shorter. Yeah. >> And archery camp landed right on one of those. So I I just think we have to say we think it's a great thing, but I don't think it should be on top of everybody who >> worked hard to get their schedule. And some of the people who created the summer camp experiences that we have in that Nikki publishes every week, they worked with each other to not step on each other and so that they could spread spread things out across the summer, worked on timing >> and and I don't think that
040was really easy. So, I just don't think that's >> And so, um, it's in the newsletter that Nikki publishes each week, the 2026 Kingsbury camps, the ones that have been approved are in there. And it does give the dates um the cost and what grades are associated. So, if you're wondering um where Sandy was talking about those previous camps, that's um that's where she's getting that information. Um, is there a way because again I think >> that anything that we can offer over the summer is is great. Is there a way that um I mean I don't know how to handle this because again I don't want somebody who maybe wanted to do the other camp and now it's conflicted. So we don't want to take students away from that. Is there a way to
041see if he can change the dates if we approve this with an appropriate date re date? You could approve it and say that the you approve ones that do not overlap others and request the other ones to be rescheduled. >> Well, and these camps, if you if you look at them, they're three hours. They take an hour off for lunch every day. So, but it is a three-hour camp. >> Some of the others and and I don't have [clears throat] it in front of me, so I don't know. I'm assuming some of them they either end at 2 or 3. Correct. >> So, you could start you could give a half hour, >> you know, water break. And so you could be starting from 3:00 to 6:00 or 2:30 to 5:30 and still get the
0423 hours in on even the same days. So a kid could do both if they chose to do that. >> Or I mean there's nothing to say. >> But these are only hour and a half sessions. >> Well, there it's three hours totally >> if they want to stay for the whole thing. >> Yeah. For the day. Yeah. So, so I I think if I think that's a really great suggestion if we approve it that we think archery camp is a great opportunity for Kingsbury kids, but let's find a time window to plug it in that doesn't impinge on already approved and other approved programs that, you know, some family have already registered and paid for, >> right? And we if our families want all of the different camp aspects too, that is going to
043help um make sure that they're not having to choose one over the other. >> And there's also Saturdays and some of the summer camps are four day camps. They're not >> We're good. Thank you, Mr. Smith. >> They're four day camps. So Friday is available. >> So, you know, it could be late afternoon on two days and then, you know, a Friday or I think we don't need to tell them how to do it. just tell them >> yes, >> take a look at what's already on the calendar and figure out how to fit yourself in around that space and it's great. >> Okay. >> And then if anybody in the future does want to add camps because we're always open to that, let's just make sure that um additional camps are checked with the
044master approved list and that they we just ask that they not. >> Okay. >> And there are a couple wide openen weeks at the very end of August as well. And in some ways, because I know that he's offering archery during the school year, it might even make sense for him to take a look at a late August camp because that gets kids wound up and excited about archery club coming into the the fall school. >> They're usually in service for the two weeks before school. That's why the end of August was open. >> All right, maybe that wouldn't work then. >> Well, what time does that end? [laughter] long breaks. [laughter] >> Long breaks. >> Hold everybody lunch. It's time for lunch. >> It's time for archery. >> Yes. >> Find a place to
045march with traffic and next year, you know, the deadline is going to be November 1st or November 15th and >> and you know, get in get in line with everybody else and wrangle some time. >> Okay. And I don't imagine that it's going to be an issue with the being able to try and configure it. No, they won't. >> Anybody else have anything before I entertain a motion? Right. >> Uh is this open to public or just for Kingsbury students? I guess it doesn't stay. >> So last summer we did open up camps to um like friends of Kingsbury kids. Um I think our camps are pretty healthy with our Kingsbury kids right now. So we haven't got to that. Do we need to open it up yet to those other families? So, by next
046board meeting, um I'll bring that answer to you guys if you'd like to open it to >> We did that if we didn't have the um the base number we needed to support the camp. That's how >> I could be wrong, but I thought the deadline for registering and paying was like March 27th. >> I we prefer it before spring break, but if we open it up to like friends, then we would extend it until after spring break to give them that opportunity. So your your Kingsbury families think they have until the end of March to commit financially. So you'll have final numbers, >> maybe not even at our March board meeting, but you have a lot closer. >> Correct. And then we'll have time to still even open it up. >> Okay. So right
047now, we can motion that it's only for Kingsbury right now and then to look at later. >> All right. So at this time, I will entertain a motion regarding archery summer camp. Some move. [laughter] >> Yes. >> Can I try to >> move that we approve archery summer camp um with with the caveat that it needs to be scheduled around the other camps that have been on the calendar since November, since the November deadline. and that it should be for Kingsbury um Kingsbury families only at this time. And and maybe we can say that it's subject to if administration comes out and opens it up to family and friends that it's subject to the same enrollment restrictions as all the other camps. That way we don't have to revisit it. >> Okay. >> Does that
048make sense? Would you like me to include in this motion that that applies to all other camps so that we don't come to you with each of the other >> camps? Sure. It'd be fun to know how we're doing with registration, but I think Sure. That's that's okay. >> All right. So, it has been >> motion. Is there a second? >> Are you Are you there, Allie? >> Yep, I'm there. >> Okay. Is there a second or you move? So, I'll call you. You good with that? >> You can do whatever you want. Do you officially second Sy's motion? >> Sure. Okay. Uh, it has been moved and second. Is there any further discussion regarding this summer the archery summer camp? >> I just want to say I think it's incredible how our staff has
049stepped up. >> I know. I can't create and come up with so many creative outlets for kids and and um the fact that so many of our families are excited about these opportunities and are signing up their kids. >> Yeah. And I think it, you know, just fits so nicely with our curriculum and the whole team is very >> Yeah, it really is. >> I I agree. Um so thank you for saying that because this does take extra time, extra planning, extra resources for these teachers. Um and to be coming back to our kids specifically, I think it's just extraordinary. So thank you um for all of the teachers that have done this um and who keep coming up with new ideas, too. because I think last year we I I know last year we
050didn't have this amount. >> Yeah. >> So, um thank you. All right. Any further discussion? [clears throat] >> All those in favor, please say I. Any opposition, please say nay. Hearing no opposition. The archery summer camp has been approved. Legos robotic club. >> Yes. So, um this is for grades 2 to four. I had a couple parents come up to me, send an email and ask, "Can we launch a Lego club for grades 2 through 4?" I said, "Tell me more." So, you have a proposal um of what they are thinking this would look like um meeting approximately 60 minutes once a week, maximum about 24 students. We would um find the best location for them. Right now, it's looking like possibly the library or possibly a classroom. It just depends on um the start
051and end time to where that space would be. And then it would be non-competitive um very just primary Lego club. We are looking at the upper level Lego club through some of the teachers. So this would open this up to some of our younger grades that don't have the opportunity to participate with a higher competitive club yet. So that's in the process with a couple of our teachers right now. They're still fact gathering. Um the class pack Just for clarity. >> Yep. >> They're gathering for the upper class. >> For the upper class. Yeah. Because that would be through like an aftershoe school club or a potential elective once they get all that information. >> So, this is um geared specifically for second grade through fourth grade. To start it up, there is the cost
052of um what's called a class pack, and that includes all the materials that would be need to be used for that Lego program. And that comes in at about 715 give or take. Um, and with approximately 20 students, um, we could have the families pay $35 for the season and that would buy the pack. Um, so that's $5 roughly per season if it's a 10 week per session if it's a 10-we season. Um, so we would figure out the 100% logistics, but that's kind of the rough idea of what was proposed for the program to start it off. Um, and most schools with the research this parent group did is they typically charge 45 to 55 uh dollars per student to join like a Lego club like this. Um, >> I don't see timing on
053here. >> Um, up at the top it says meeting structure, >> but starting when is what I mean? >> As soon as we get the board. >> Yeah, we're waiting for the approval. No, not next Wednesday. >> Order the pack. >> Yeah. So as soon as we got the board's um approval then we they would be able to move forward with the next steps. This is just the basic what we can find out with sorry what they could find out. I did no research in this. So thank you to my parent group um that did this. Um as soon as approval then we get the final information and I can share that with the board as well. >> And I just want to make sure to with approximately 20 students $35 that's per student, right?
054So if somebody were to have two students >> um in the grades two to four and they want both their students to be there, it would be per student, not >> So this says per family. Um so we would have to look if it's equitable or if it if they could get enough raised if it's per family because it depends on family size. So yeah, we'd have to look at that. >> Okay. Because I just want to make sure because there's there's that, but elsewhere it's per student. So, um, >> oftent times when you do these clubs, you do like an initial student, you do >> then you might do a sibling reduction like $5 less or something like that. >> Again, I don't I like Mike just want clarity. I just want to make
055sure that we, you know, and I think that it would be per especially with it being >> brand new needing to get that pack. >> Um, do you know is the class pack something that would then be able to be used? >> They can be used and you can add on. So it's like the base >> and then you add on to it if you want more. >> It's your first robotics. So it's like an actual >> it's a program. It feeds into first robotics that they're using at the high school. >> So the two to four is the grade level that's set by first. >> So this is just the beginners. >> Correct. It's the beginners. Yep. >> Okay. The board would need to front the money though, I think is what you're asking
056because if the >> No. Okay. >> We didn't get that far in conversation. >> Okay. >> This was just in advance of people signing up to have available for when they show up. So, >> I just want to make sure that >> that's clear as well. >> Okay. [laughter] So, there is no upfront cost though from the board at this time that we're >> at this time that I'm aware of. >> Okay. Okay. All right. >> Um, so I would entertain a motion to approve this. Sorry. Still have >> interrupt me, Mike. Go ahead. >> I apologize. >> With some of the other camps that we're seeing um I don't notice like any of the the sponsors here as being um necessarily a Kingsbury staff member. >> Correct. This is a parent run. A parent
057run request. Yes. This This is >> This is a parent run and it's a club, not a camp. >> So, >> they were looking to do like an after school club. >> Yeah. School. >> Yes. >> You have a board policy regarding that. There would be a form that uh outside of Kingsbury staff that would fill out to use. Um and then you would approve that. That would fall under her. Um, but that stipulates that board policy stipulates the requirements under like a parent organization running it versus a staff member. >> Okay. >> And it would be on campus here. >> Correct. Volunteer. >> Our students only Kingsberry. >> Kingsberry. >> Okay. I just wanted to make sure if we needed a sponsor from Kingsberry or >> a volunteer. [clears throat] [laughter] >> I do
058have one if I need it. >> I can't. Yeah. And I can't speak to when it would be, but oftent times these extracurricular happen typically right after school where staff are still in the building because >> I think if I'm understanding what you're saying by sponsor, is there going to be somebody from the school present during that? Is that what you're saying? Yes. That would be part of her review of their application to host the club that >> um she would look at the timing and make sure that we do have somebody in the space. That's a good question. Thank you. M >> okay. I will now entertain a motion to approve the Lego club proposal for the grade levels 2 through 4. Um for that I move that we approve the Lego club. The
059only adjustment would be that the cost be per student not per family. >> Yep. >> Is Oh, sorry. and that and that any and all appropriate forms per board policy be filed um ahead of time. Is there a second? I'll second. 30 seconds. It has been moved and seconded. Is there any further discussion about the Lego Robotics Club? Can I come? >> You have a second grader. >> Um but this Thank you. Um because again this is yet another thing that takes time and effort from individuals to put together uh and then to get to spend time of our students. So um I I appreciate the the additional volunteerism. Thank you. Um so it has been moved seconded. Is there uh all those in favor please say I. I. >> Is there any opposition? Hearing
060no opposition. Um the robotic club is approved with the caveats that sen motion. Boys volleyball with the cool fire. >> Yep. >> It is cool. Uh so this is um Miss Fielders. She does the volleyball. Um so we're looking to have the approval for you know it looks like these flyers are exactly the same just different color font. So, the dates from 32 to 3:20 um but not 3:18 because that's a half day and it would be open up to fifth to 8th grade boys. Cost of $50. Um and the due date would be um March 2nd if the board approves for that. >> Okay. >> Monday through Thursday 3:30 to 4:30. >> And this isn't there aren't competitive? >> No, this is just pract Yeah. Fun. >> And this has been previously done. >>
061They have done in the past had a lot of >> Yes. There's already a lot interest to do this. So, [laughter] >> okay. I will entertain a motion for the boys volleyball. >> Move. Is there a second? >> Sandy second. It has been moved and seconded. Any further discussion regarding the boys volleyball? Uh, no further discussion. All those in favor, please say I. I. Any opposition, please say nay. Hearing no opposition, boys volleyball has been approved. Uh moving on to s'mores. >> Yep. So this is a fundraiser again uh spearheaded by Miss Fielder. Um the dates have shifted just a little bit because of the um cold weather. So the February dates she is wanting to keep and then we want to add a date in March just to get out of the cold a
062little bit because we were supposed to have it um this Wednesday and it was just too cold. You couldn't you couldn't get out there and do the s'mores. Um so the we will update the flyer with the March date and then um share that with the community. So the February dates and then the March >> and what is this require? >> So I yeah I want to give a little bit of context to this. This is for the speakers. >> Yes. >> Okay. So uh no technically the board does not approve fundraisers. That goes I'll go to Mrs. Weirden. The reason that I put that in there is because of what she wants to fund raise for. Um, and so I know we've got those fundraising dollars that you have sitting in. There's another one
063coming up regarding um the sugar shack too that's on here that typically wouldn't be either. Um, but uh she's looking to help with the sound in the jazz. And so we already had one bought and she's looking to Yeah. a portable speaker. um it doesn't solve the like larger probably need for a speaker system. Um which is why I just wanted to bring it to your she can make you can approve it. Um but I just wanted to bring it to your attention because it may be something that we want to look into further in terms of um looking at more of a system fix to the Jazz Center for speakers versus continuing to buy smaller speakers to to solve what we have. So, that will be something that we're going to be working with
064um a local business to try to get some quotes um where they actually take a look at the acoustics and tell us what that may be. So, um really just wanted to put that out there in terms of, you know, a possibility for the board to consider as a project. Um whether it's this time around or upcoming. Um, we we do know that for all the music that happens in there that it would greatly um it would greatly impact um what we do in there for a variety of reasons, but especially for the amazing concerts that they put on. >> Okay. >> So, no action is taken there. >> All right. Any questions on the s'mores? Okay. Can I come >> during recess? Come on up. >> And apparently there's a time that's too cold
065for >> Yeah, you got to stand out there. >> Yeah, we found it. >> I I don't think you asked some of the students because I think they would have been >> I think it was the adults who had to go out there and do the fire and >> but they before they got them together they would have been >> that's a whole different flavor. It [laughter] is. >> Um so empowerment camp. >> Yeah. So, this was a camp that the board has already approved. Um, it's led by U. Miss Austin and Miss Lutch. And what they would like to do is shorten the days but then extend the time. >> Is this on top of other camps? >> No, this is already approved and the dates still are the same. They're just taking the
066Friday away and extending the the hours to be, you know, longer instead of the Friday because the Friday they've both had different commitment now. So, it's already in the current >> Monday. It'll be a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So, they're taking So, it was originally Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. >> Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Sorry. >> It was a 4 day and they're dropping it down to a three-day. Yes. >> But expanding the hours. >> Expanding the hours. >> Okay. And it doesn't >> it does not overlap. It's the exact same dates. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Just less. At this time, I would entertain a motion to approve the time change for the 3-day school readiness stamp that change of time does not conflict with any of the current approved. >> Sand moves. Is there a
067second? >> Second. >> Mike seconds. It has been moved and seconded. Any further discussion? Hearing no further discussion, all those in favor, please say I. I. >> Any opposition, please say nay. hearing no opposition. Um those time the time and date changes are approved. Um and Ally, you touched on the Sugar Shack fundraiser proposal, but it is actually in our packet. >> Yes. >> On page 65 there. >> Yes. >> Can I start? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, um in last year, we had we used grant money to purchase the actual sugar shack. So, we have that. What we need is now um a building around it so that u Mr. Fleming and a their teachers have a space to have kids around enclosed and still teach um and use the sugar shack. >> So
068you're saying you purchased the equipment? >> Yes, >> correct. We have the equipment. What we're looking what this proposal is is the shack the building part of it. Um so working with um Mr. Fleming and uh one of our families uh is a a contractor. Um they've come up with an estimated cost of this building um to be under 10,000. We don't have a formal um proposal for it. That's just an estimate, a quote right now. Um but the building size would be a 24x 16 ft with a 4ft um porch. And it includes the ventilation, the windows, and the space for equipment storage and student learning areas. What we would like to do is take this out to like a GoFundMe. >> So, the reason I brought like that we talked about and thought
069that we should bring it to the board is one that's a large um request. So, I want to make sure that you're aware if there was a GoFundMe that you're not surprised by that, but also again want to see if that's anything that may want to be considered for from the fundraising um the golf outing. >> I love the idea. Um [snorts] my only issue with it is that it this go through the trust board. >> Yeah. Is this going through the trust >> facility? [snorts] >> No, I mean we could ask but there this is this the four walls of this if we wanted to. >> Out buildings would not >> I I mean we can ask them. They've done a lot on the building. But yeah, that's a good question. But because this
070would be an addition and it's strictly for that use, I would not imagine that that be >> I would like to ask them just because I mean we're depending where you're going to go on the property. I mean we are putting it'd be a structure. Yeah. >> On their property. So it's not necessarily my mind call it could have taxes. We would ask them, but I Are you asking to see if they would pay for it or are you asking to confirm whether or not they would allow us? >> Okay. >> If they give a donation even, >> you know, keep going, keep going. [laughter] >> But if they don't want to give the whole thing, can they help us a little bit but don't raise our rent? [laughter] So, I think the first question
071um is whether or not this is something that we would have the approval from the trust board to put on the building. >> Um and provided that the answer to that question is yes, would this be something that we might want to look at um our fundraising fund a donation in from the board? Certainly up for conversation >> rather than a go as opposed to a gofundme because we'd have enough >> if we chose to >> certainly conversation. >> What? >> Go ahead. >> The timing of that and I it's not on you but the timing for maple syrup tapping >> is soon. >> So I think that's why they were trying to raise the funds quickly through a gofundme. So they but they have the equipment to do the tap and have the >>
072Why didn't I hear about the shack back when we were getting the grant for the equipment? >> The grant was a limited amount. We recognized that we could only buy a part of it. >> Yeah. >> Anybody say, "Oh, by the way, if we get this grant, we're going to need a shock to put it in." >> You could still do it without that. >> You can do it without. Yeah, you could do it without, but it's >> So, why don't we because I'm in part of the fundraising. A GoFundMe involves everybody in the school. The sugar shack is all part of the school for the kids. It's for the kids. Why don't we ask for a GoFundMe? I This is just a thought. And then if we need to fill in a little bit
073with our money, we do that because that's quicker, right? >> Yeah. >> And it involves people and it makes them excited about it. >> I'm just not sure what the structure is. And >> it's a 24 by >> 16 foot. >> Yeah, we have >> foursided building with >> windows in a in a chimney. >> How long would it take? I mean, I feel like this is very much a trust board question. >> Turn around, I was told was a couple weeks to build this. >> Yeah. >> And there's already somebody that's >> they have somebody that would All of this is inclusive of the building. >> Um you know that the um hang on the I want to say garage. It's not a garage. The buildings that they put up really fast. >> A
074shed. >> Yeah. Just a shack. I mean it's not >> insulated. It's not Right. It's just >> here's another question that I've got because you know I always like do this but if the board donates is there an issue with having to have more than one bid >> a bid >> this amount? No, it's under $30,000. >> It's under >> and anything under $15,000 doesn't require an architect. >> It stays up. It's permanent >> and it is a permanent fixture. >> Correct. It would be permanent. And if we did a gofund, if you did a gofund and people don't want to give to the gofund, can they give it just to the school >> for that use? >> Oh, >> could they like donate a check and say you have like to go towards >>
075go through that because go cost money. >> Yeah. >> And if you if you want >> we were thinking of GoFundMe to open it up to like a broader community as well. everybody, which I think is terrific. >> Yeah. >> Although, why couldn't we say we're going to raise money, send your checks into >> Well, then it doesn't cost us. >> Huh. >> Then it doesn't cost us. I agree with you. >> And that still involves the whole school. I mean, I I don't The GoFundMe has some negative things on it, but I I don't know. But I I also sort of agree with Mike that we have to ask the trust board because we're talking about, you know, putting in a sand pad and we're going to Oh yes, >> we've got >> the
076wind girder families coming in. They I don't think they're doing that by hand. So they probably have a couple little >> pieces of equipment they're going to have on property and >> seems like the trust needs to at least know about it. >> Oh yes, absolutely. We wouldn't >> I wanted to see what the board thoughts were um before going to the trust board. >> I mean I certainly think that this was a cool idea. I just don't think that's our goal. >> And and [clears throat] that's fair. And I think um and I I do um so like the fundraising plan ideas here. I like the maple syrup or pancake event [snorts] in the family and a lot of donations. >> Um you know there could even be a option for the first >>
077the first half of syrup because you know that takes a lot. Um, but I guess my thought here is, um, I know that Mike, we are asking for a needs list from, um, Ally and Nikki for the next board meeting. Um, >> we can get more information on this, talk to the trust, and come back to you next month. That's not a problem at all. >> But, how long did you say it's going to take? >> They said about two weeks they could get the structure up. >> That's >> two weeks from funded. >> Yeah. Well, our next meeting's in a little weeks. >> Yeah, that's true. >> And and not having this structure right now is not going to impede their ability to tap trees. >> You can still use the sugar shack. It
078impedes having like the classes and this Yeah. All of that. >> So, what we're talking about doing here delays things by three weeks max, right, to get to the next board meeting. >> Yeah. which seems unreasonable because >> Mark can just boil it down in his garage like he's been doing with this cocaine. >> Okay. So, >> until I don't want to do is I don't want to impede any fundraising efforts for this. Um, and if GoFundMe is something that we're not on board with, um, I think we're hearing everybody say it's a great idea and we ought to do it, but we get to keep more of the money if we >> if we don't use >> if we run it through student activities instead of GoFundM just from a community perspective. People will
079like it more if they can go like this and give you money than if they have to send in money in an envelope or check. I'm just letting You're right. So you should find some way something that you can get. >> Can student activities accept PayPal or Venmo? >> We were we're waiting on that still. We >> don't have that. >> We were waiting on a card. >> We still don't have it. >> If we Well, there's another money through the KPA >> and we can help pay for some too. >> I mean, it can be like a partnership. [snorts] >> I did ask my president. I'm not speaking out of [laughter] term here. >> Oh, we just changed everything right now. >> But that's a great because that makes it easier and they're used
080to using the okay, you know, for pizza days and pancake days and >> a lot of families know how to use that and they're comfortable with it. >> Not that I want to insert myself, but I'm just saying no, if you have an electronic way, people will >> It's easy. That's a good point. people almost like never gave money away. >> But that's even [laughter] it's free money. >> It's free. You don't see it. >> I would think that's better than a GoFundMe because you keep more of the money, >> right? >> So, how long would it even take to build this? >> They said about two weeks. About two weeks. >> Yeah. Because you're not you're looking at a minimal structure. You're not making the heat and >> but they need to make the
081base first. >> Where's the site at? [laughter] >> Did he put it in there? >> I know there was a couple different locations they were looking at >> after talking to the trust. >> The story book. Yeah, that was one of them. But we were going to talk to the trust. >> Yeah, we're not talking about putting it all the way into the >> It says sand pad, which makes no sense to me. That is that a misnomer. >> Well, and keep keep in mind we're not starting a a cement pad anytime soon. >> Sand could go under cement. I don't know. It's like a baseline. >> That's what I was thinking too because you have to have it compacted underneath for the edge. >> So the wind gers they're they're supplying the the the
082sand and then the stone and then the cement gets poured on top of that. Is that how But they're >> No, with the stone. I don't know if they would pour >> cement on top. >> Maybe. Maybe in like the holes, >> but not like a hole like >> it's not a cement. >> No, I don't know. >> Uhuh. >> I mean, yeah, that's what I'm thinking. >> It's crushed and it's compacted. They come through with a Yeah, we have trails at one of my schools with that >> and it gives you a nice solid surface, but it's not a permanent, >> right? >> So, what approval are you asking for? If here's here's what I am thinking based on the conversations that we've had here because this looks to me like it's coming to
083us for an approval to just allow fundraising, right? And specifically the GoFundMe was the initial path in which they were looking. Um, given the concerns that we have though about costs coming out by using GoFundMe, what I am thinking at this point in time is entertaining a motion to approve fundraising for this specific building. um outside of GoFundMe, if that means teaming with the KPA to use their online ability or asking people to write checks um or the fundraising plan or both >> um >> upon approval by the trust board. Yeah, >> I would entertain a motion to approve this for them to start getting some fundraising going so that we can try and get it in or so they can try to get in so that they can boil the syrup down here versus
084offsite. >> Well, I think it should be clear we're not trying to kibash their idea. We're trying to find a way to save more of money. Yeah, >> the money is donated. Yeah. >> And and I think then we would also indicate that it would be we would consider it under the needs of the school as well under our fundraising perhaps. >> I don't know. I mean, that doesn't >> I don't see why we need to to prove anything. I'm not trying to push back here. I mean, the fact is like we have an outside group that's willing to let us a building and they think it's going to cost $10,000. >> No, no, no, no. They're they're they're willing to donate the stone and the pen. I don't think they're putting up the building.
085I think that's >> No, but they're talking to >> Mr. Fleming. Yeah, Mr. Mr. Fleming was being part of this. >> My point is the $10,000 what I understand is all through fundraising, right? >> Yes. >> No money from the school >> to give it to the Amish builders. >> I understand that. So, there's no >> So, you're saying you don't believe that we need to >> I don't know what we're approving. It's going to be an outside through fundraising, not by the school. There's no cost to the school. >> But if the fundraising comes into the school, sorry, >> it's going to go to I mean, what money are we putting up for this building? Why would the money come to the school at all? >> If it goes through KPA, that's different. Yeah.
086>> Yeah. >> We have to approve. >> You you would want to approve that you're willing to have that. like we don't want to go out and fund raise money and then the board say we don't want it >> I'm happy to approve the idea >> that's fine with me pending board trust board approval but in terms of funds it's not going through the school >> yeah I don't have I made um what I think might be what you're talking about for the motion but that you would be approving um fundraising for the sugar shack with uh approval from the trust for structure build and placement. >> Again, we're kind of putting the cart before the horse here. We probably should the trust board first got the approval and then came and said, you know,
087you want to do this >> school board, do you guys want to donate and are you okay with the money flowing through the school that way? But in this situation, I just think if it's an outside group fundraising, that's fine. I don't see why the board needs to approve. It's a [clears throat] teacher. >> It's not a teacher. >> Yeah. It's like the golfing where you collected money and it went through the school. It's like that. >> So you're asking the school to fund raise it. >> It's a teacher. The teacher can't collect the money. So it has to go through the school >> or the in this case >> or the school fundraiser like the fundraising committee could say we want there's $2,000 left and we'd like to cover that. Exactly. >> So, >>
088sensitive. >> It's Yeah. Again, we're going about this backwards. I think like again, I really like the idea. I'm just trying to think how we can get through this. Um because what I don't want is that if the school were to start accepting fundraising funds and then for whatever reason school board were to or the trust board were to say >> yeah we wouldn't start that until >> they can't do that until >> we wouldn't [clears throat] do it until the trust board approved >> the structure and the location >> approval from the time you're right have every teacher willing. >> Right. Like I said, I think that we're going about this a little bit different from >> I just think they need to get approval as you said. >> Yep. Approval from the board,
089the trust board, >> and then decide how you're going to have donations or fund raise or whatever it's going to be. So, I would entertain or I I'll actually motion um to approve fundraising through our student activities plan for a building such as the structure that they're proposing here, but only after it's got to be it's conditional upon the trust board's approval of that building being allowed >> with approval from trust for structure and placement. >> Correct. So, um, because again, I know that it's backwards, right? >> But what I don't want to do is hold off and wait because it's going to be too long >> for February because then we could miss the opportunity here. Um, so again, but it absolutely is conditional upon like I don't believe fundraising should start until the
090trust board approves it. >> 100%. >> Can can I recommend an amendment to that motion? You can motion do something different. >> Just just amend. No, I think the motion's good, but I would amend to say through student activities and the KPA. So, we have dual path for however parents and community members want to donate money. So, if they are comfortable putting it as as Rachel did through the KPA, it >> doesn't have to be through me, but I'm just saying. >> Yeah. No, no, you're right. or if they'd rather write a check and you know note that that's what it's for. So they have two different >> that should touch a a broader number of people >> depending on so the rest of your motion is fine. I just wanted to add that >>
091KPA. Okay. >> So I think with my first and her amend that's a one and a two first and second >> uh >> I just put it as one. Can we just >> There is no third. >> It says that clear plan and timeline. So I would ask for the next meeting as we understand what the plan is and >> once I got approval from all the people I would send the full board communication outside of the board meeting so that you all had that. We would want to make sure all of those things are clear before we ever ask for money. >> Oh no, this I think where they say clear plan and timeline is referencing this pan maple syrup or pancake event, >> right? >> Not looks like it's part of it rather
092than >> but I think you you're absolutely right. We should ask for that for the whole >> Not that I that we need to approve the timeline that they're trying to get it in as possible. >> I would also ask for a drawing too of this. >> Um I just didn't this person is doing like the willingness to do this as a at a greatly reduced price. So um I think what Nikki was thinking is get it before we start asking anybody to do any additional work [laughter] on that. But yes, the >> absolutely the trust needs to come first. >> Two different bunches of people. We got the Winger family and um >> who's offering to donate >> they're donating donate the stone and the sand pad and you know she's also one of
093our substitute teachers and they're really well involved in the school. >> But then there's these random Amish builders that >> Yes. [laughter] >> that we're waiting for a quote [gasps] from. So that will be >> Yes. Interesting. >> Yes. See what their final total is. Yes. under. >> So, is that a motion clear? >> Would you like me to read it? >> Sure. >> So, um motion to approve fundraising for the sugar shack with approval from the trust regarding placement and structure with fundraising through the KPA and school student activities accounts. >> Did that capture it? >> I think so. I just would feel more comfortable if there was the trust board approval prior to any fundraising going out to the community. Y >> I think that you're with where you say with I think
094that's >> you wanted to say first you want the say >> do a then >> approve from the trust and then fund [clears throat and laughter] >> all right so that was a first by me and a second by Sandy >> and a third by Mike >> Y Um, >> and I said nothing. >> Is that [laughter] here's your chance. You have further discussion. Just say a. >> Okay. So, um, all those in favor of the, uh, motion, please say I. >> I. >> Any opposition, please say nay. Hearing no opposition. All those in favor of the fundraising, the approval of the sugar fundraiser pending board trust board approval for the building, please say I. I did that already. I'm just duplicating it. So, it is now it has now been approved. Okay. >> Thank
095you. >> Follow 2025 board policy update. >> Hold on. >> I will tell you it's it's your separate packet. Just so you know. >> I'd like to I really appreciate the KPA putting up their hand and collaborating forward. >> Yes. Thank you. That was really continually working. We try and do it on the the little computers that are in our pockets all the time. >> No, but it's so true. >> I actually the the pizza lunch sign up is my favorite thing. >> All the things. >> Don't forget the pancake lunch coming up. >> Pancake lunch. This is a good time to plug that. >> Yes, the pancake lunch is on February 13th. >> 12th. >> Oh, >> yeah. February 12th. >> Pink pancakes with sprinkles if you'd like >> through the KPA. >> Okay.
096>> Although I do have to cook them all, so I'm not sure. [laughter] I'll help you, Rachel. >> Okay, good. >> So, you have um in your packet, you've got the document for board policies, a summary table here. We don't always print uh the actual policies with this. But, as you can see through the color coding of all the red and green, there were quite a few adjustments to these policies. So, I just we just printed them for you just to make it a little bit more clear. You can just look at the summary table as well, but um we don't I know we just went through all of those board policies, but sometimes it's nice in small chunks to just remind you um of what they are if you did not read all of
097them front to back when when we adopted them in big chunks. So, um the first one is the non-discrimination on the basis of sex and education programs and or activities. This is legally required. Um, so not an option there. Uh, unless you would like to talk to legal counsel and they would be willing to take that out and defend that. Um, the second one is homebound instruction program. Again, this is legal content. The policy has been revised to reflect uh the latest changes in the pupil counting manual. So that's how we're told to do school, how we can count kids, and what's permitted um for instructional time and placement. Uh the next one is the bullying and other uh aggressive behavior towards students. So this one is another legally required. Um it's being revised to
098include the definitions and additional components included in the latest um version of the Michigan State uh board of education's model anti-bullying policy. A lot of times what you'll see um as we go through these, you'll get them in fall and spring. So spring will come just around the corner. Um but these whenever they change language or they add some type of new legislative act that uh impacts schools you'll see board policy updates to either the language or addition or exclusion of some. So um the next one uh the digital uh content and cyber security or accessibility sorry legal content. So, the revisions to this um reflect the US Department of Justice final rule um provisions under title two of the America with Disabilities Act. This is really saying that your website needs to be ADA
099compliant. It is. Um but you would want that to be in your policy. Uh it's legally required. Um on the next page, um you've got the policy 7541 um the electronic data processing disaster recovery plan. Um we're recommending or they are recommending as well um to delete or resend. Um so these are included in a different policy 8305 which is going to be right after it. So um it changed enough that they thought that should come out and it should be replaced with the next one. Um which we would also recommend. Um that policy provides information regarding cyber security safeguards um and assessment of risk related to the access to and security of the data. Um, believe it or not, and you probably heard it from hospitals, but there have been schools where they get
100into their student information systems and you hold it for ransom. Um, so these are just um these are set to make sure that we're trying to protect the data um of our community through this policy. Um, and then the last one is regarding volunteers. So this policy is just being revised to provide guidance to uh for volunteers. So this again, this tells Nikki if I need to know what to do with volunteers, she follows that and make sure that that's implemented within your building. So uh you can choose to go through and approve these tonight or you can wait. So whatever works best for you. If you want to film through them longer, you could move this to next. I would personally um motion to table this for next meeting for the February 19th so
101we get a chance to review all of the changes in the policy. Um and thank you for the copies that include where the additions are, where the deletions are, what the actual changes um are. I love the strike through just the [laughter] change or >> what? Yes, you can you can move it to the next one. Oftentimes, these ones are all really legally required, but um in some legal content when you get you should be getting emails from NCSI with your login information. So, you can always go and look and see the red lines for the night. We may not if they're not heavy duty. We don't usually print them save trees. Um but you do always have access um through your login. So, >> yes, we can move that to next month. Well, is
102there a second to table it for next month? >> Second. >> Mike seconds. Is there any further discussion regarding that? Uh, no further discussion. All those in favor of um tableabling this or moving this item to the February 19th board meeting for discussion and potential approval, please say I. >> I. All those opposed, please say nay. Hearing no opposition, um, that has been tabled and moved to February 19th meeting. Moving on to other business. Is there any other business identified any other business listed? >> Nope. >> All right. So, Sagenov Valley State University representative update. We don't have um >> come during the winter. [laughter] Um but the 2024 2025 annual academic report is in our classes. >> Yep. Yeah, >> we received it from um >> Yes, Don. >> This will all be data
103that you've seen just differently, right? They put it all together um in theirs. So, um you've got your uh on page three, your NWA growth. Again, this was from last year. Um and so you get to see your math growth and your reading growth there. On the following page, um you can see additional for your student median growth conditional percentile there. Um got the next page regarding achievement. So growth is saying that the student is here um and they've made it here. But achievement is where the norms are based for students at that age, at that grade, not that age, at that grade, at that time of year. So this is this is the achievement component. Um again just formatted differently but very similar to how you would have seen it from us. And then
104on the next page there um percent of students met projection. So based on NWA they can estimate what they think that you will how many of your students will be proficient on MSTEP. Uh we talked a little bit at our last meeting um with the academic committee regarding the norms changing um this year or this past year going into this year for um to get us out of COVID. So they did the national norms postcoid. So they changed a bit making now students who um are testing in around the 70 to 75th percentile depending on grade. that's where they need to be to be proficient on MSTEP. So, just to that's traditionally, it's not always, but for the bulk, that's what they're seeing is that you've got to you've got to hit the 75th percentile
105um in order to be proficient in the state assessments. Um on the next page um you can see the state assessments from last year and then some additional graphs that they utilize. So you can see year after year. >> So are we winning or losing? >> This is all the data you saw last year. So we saw a little bit of a dip in some areas. Um and so this again this is all the same. It's just presented in a nicer So are there action plans that come out of this group or is this just >> more information that is filtered or sliced and diced in a different way or is this something where you will take some action and >> we've already taken we've already taken all that data and have action plans in
106place. This is FPSU releases this for each of theiries. So this is just a new package of it but we've already got work going on. >> Yeah. and I'm already >> prepackaged data that we already just to be clear. So we manage expectations about what happens as a result of this. >> Yep. >> Can I say one thing on NWA? So we're currently in the active testing of NWA and I've already seen some um really good growth of the students that have finished so far. And this is just week one um but it's uh it's looking really well >> in. Yeah. in LA. >> So, we have a pilot going within. >> It's looking good. So, >> ask a different question. Do we have to worry about freezing with the heat turned off? [laughter] >>
107I'd ask the trust person. >> My house is already set to like >> you just turned the heat down. >> They didn't like they froze. We got to it because I had >> it didn't burst. [laughter] >> It's cold. That's why my Yeah, I'm cold. [laughter] >> If the KPA doesn't sell them, I don't have one. [laughter] I'm always on my >> Would you like the heater back on? >> Okay. I can't feel my feet. Would you like me to feel your [laughter] >> We'll turn the heat back on. >> Okay. Management company report school report. >> Okay. >> I'm assuming 81 page 81. >> Um so starting at the top, the reenrollment numbers that you have um in the fancy gray box now those have updated. These numbers were from the first week in
108January. So I have Fred off fresh off the presses reenrollment numbers for you if you'd like to >> change them out. >> There. >> Yes. Right here. >> Yeah. We we put the packets out quite a while. So you'll often see changes in enrollment. >> It's on it's on this >> up at the top the the gray. >> Yep. >> I'll give you the updated. Yep. Kindergarten is 40. >> Whoa. >> Yep. And this these numbers were the first week of February. Oh, sorry. of January. Um, >> kindergarten is 40. First grade is 40. >> Reenrollment. >> Okay. >> Yes. So, we our reenrollment period started beginning of December and it ended January 11th. >> I just heard enrollment. >> This gets confusing. So, let me clarify. >> Uh, kindergarten. These will be first graders
109next year. So these are currently enrolled numbers that she's reporting. So they'll all flip over to the next grade. So >> So this isn't kindergarten. >> Yeah. Because we're not in open enrollment, right? >> And all of our prek, JK, and outside have to enroll for kindergarten in open enrollment. >> 40 current students from kindergarten >> moving to first. First >> Yes. And the same with first. >> 40 students from first are going to second. >> Yep. Same for second. >> What's 40? Yep. >> And then uh third is 39 moving to fourth. >> 33 moving to am I counting right? Or to fifth, 31 to 6th, 29 to 7th, and 22 to 8th, which I want to say is fantastic for our middle school. That is all almost all of our middle school students
110saying. >> Yep. So that's a total of 274 if you'd like a total. >> Well, yeah, this is just reenrollment. These are our current families, >> current students. So all eighth grade, >> all eighth grade leaves, right? So we lose that whole number because they're not eligible for reenrollment. So >> coming back. >> Yes. >> And you don't count your eighth grade, which is 20 something. Those all >> Yeah, we don't have problems. And we are uh prek >> prek and JK is looking very healthy. JK is almost to a complete weight list. >> Oh, wow. >> With siblings. Want to add that piece in there. So, we're looking very healthy for next year. And we're not even at open enrollment yet. Oh, sorry. We are in open enrollment. Just started. >> Just started. Okay.
111>> Wow. Great. >> Great. Great job, you guys. So then back to the report. [laughter] >> They're done. >> Yes. Um so the um as you saw tonight, the new collaboration area um our KPA and parents decorated that for us. We absolutely love the space. Thank you so much. >> It is really >> gorgeous in there. Um we do have so we're piloting um the reading program for our K through five teachers. So on um February 11th, we have somebody coming out from the company to lead a professional development with the teachers where it's like a coaching session where they will get um live feedback from um somebody who knows the programs in and outs and they'll get that um they'll teach a lesson and get that feedback. So that's coming up. Um, ski season.
112Yes, we have cancelled three, but the good news is we are adding February 27th as an entire school ski day. So, we do have that extra day on there. [laughter] >> Now, see, when I wrote this, it was around the band concert time. So, you had a question >> which I will say that um >> I think the band director did a very good job of bobbing and meeting with >> all of Yes, he did. Three cancellations before he could the kids could perform and they did amazing. So, [gasps] >> yeah. Um I have started talking with a couple companies to upgrade our walkie-talkies to two-way radios using our 31A funds. Um there is a model that they will let us trial. Um, so I just have to reconnect with them and say, "Okay, send
113me the walkies so that we can travel." >> Yes, there was. They were bought a few. >> Was it 23 or >> I heard it was 23. Um, but you can be in the building and you can't hear in the woods >> and these and some of these in the back don't pick up. >> Yes. So, I'm working with a different company that is a two-way versus a walkie. So, we've done some research through my safety team and the two ways we're told are better. So, we're gonna try all >> I do believe I see some I do believe that grant funds like [clears throat] the ESSER funds may have been used for that. I I can't find all of >> those, but yeah, I don't believe it was general funded. I do believe it
114was >> some some SR. Yeah. >> Yeah. Um we have the current fifth um fifth through 8th grade math pilot which SVSU um we did that through their teacher innovation grant. So the fifth through eighth grade math teachers are piloting. It's called math and you not math and me. I don't know why I put math and you I'm sorry. [laughter] It's math and you and um so far they're loving it. The kids love it. They're able to do a lot more of the accelerated in the class and within like the sixth grade she can have multiple groups at one time working and it's working very well. So, good feedback on that so far. >> When would you expect like we'll start getting some results? Probably at the end of the school year. >> Yeah. Yeah,
115we're start start to see them now. So, they just started the rollover when we came back from winter break. So, with the snow days, they've got like three weeks that they've been doing it, but the kids are enjoying it. And the teachers are liking the diversity that they can put different in the same period class, you know, kids in a higher level for this one and lower here. and like I was in sixth grade and she had three groups going on at the same time out of this program >> and she was able to level them where they needed to be. >> In terms of data though, it takes much longer, but it may come back quicker, but it takes time for the teachers to get acclimated and and build up those skills. Yeah. So,
116>> so far they love it though. >> Yeah. >> Um, so on the back, um, it talks about a cadence testing. Um, that has almost finished up. I think we have tomorrow to wrap it up completely to get all the students within our snow days um that weren't tested before. Right. Tomorrow I think. Yeah. And then um we're like I said week one of NWA with a goal of finishing um just before we go on our long Valentine's weekend. If we need to extend it because of snow days, that is an option. I can extend it when we come back if we have students that didn't finish. But right now we're set to finish right before Valentine's. And then um we don't have a set date yet, but the WEDA, which is our assessment for
117English language learners, that will be coming up soon. I'm waiting. Um we have um a WEDA uh teacher, >> is that the right teacher >> teacher that does those testing and she'll give me the test schedule as soon as that is done. Um the current count is um actually lower. So, we currently have 332 students. We added one back to kindergarten and we added one back to first grade. So, we're at 332 current. Do you want me to go over this? >> Was there also a student added in sixth grade or is that >> uh that was previous. We haven't added anybody in six recently. >> Yeah. Do you want me to do this too? >> Okay. So then uh the last piece um is this. This is the um fall parent feedback. Um so
118we compiled all of the charts. So you can see the charts based on the questions and then just some of the highlights that were mentioned. Um like are you new to Kingsbury? How'd you hear about us? Word of mouth. You'll see that's our biggest that's how people know about us is word of mouth from friends and families. um when we um do tours, that's what they're saying. Oh yeah, my cousin or my neighbor or this. It's the word of mouth. So there's charts on the first few pages and then towards the back there are some um comments and there's some areas that um are recommended for how we can do better. So we want Sorry. Yeah. So there is a uh want of a more focus on the ESP program. So, I'll have conversations about,
119you know, what what that focus could be. Um, and then expanding. They like the expansion of our uh elective courses, but maybe some more expansions in there and seeing what we can offer in there as well. Um, and there was feedback, which I'm brainstorming how best to do is the the big feedback that I take is the newsletter is a lot. So, seeing what I can do to make that more user friendly. Um, so look for a new version coming out at some point. Not right away. I want to see what's going to be the best. Um, and there may be a couple different changes to see, you know, how's it looking now or how's this? But I I have received the feedback. It's just it's a lot >> or even a different focus area
120first week of the month. Correct. Something like that. Sports the second week. >> You talked about that. Do we put all the clubs at the beginning of the month on that? because you can see all the archived. Yeah. So, do you put all those? So, you don't have five pages of clubs. Is that only on the first month newsletter or something? Yeah. >> Yeah. So, overall I I take that there's a lot of um happy families right now. >> Yeah. >> Any specific questions on I know you're just seeing this. [laughter] I again always always room for improvement and I appreciate that you're actually looking and and figuring out how to how to address this. >> But thank you for sharing this. >> You're welcome. Um Ally, I think it's you. Yes. >> Operational health
121report. Um, so not on here, but just wanted to note, um, it's fantastic that your, uh, enrollment at fall count and now coming up to spring count is going to be probably identical, if off by maybe one. Um, that says a lot about the community. I think it's been phenomenal to hear from Nikki and Audrey that for a student that does leave that there are plenty of students who are not only interested but then choose to leave their school in the middle of the year to come to Kingsbury. That's always that that's a lot for a student in a family. Um, and so I'm just I'm really I'm really thankful for the work that they're doing um throughout the year to make sure that those counts are um are good for reenrollment purposes. Um the
122legislative update, there's quite a few there. Um some of these are already kind of gone past or what we call dead. Um not I want to talk about the um the bill for cell phone bans. Uh so last year the legislature tackled it and said everybody has to have a cell phone policy but left it to districts. This year they have gone bigger. It will be signed by the governor here soon um for all school or for all schools to have cell phones banned. Um you already don't allow them. So that doesn't necessarily impact you but if you hear about it and wonder how that um works, we don't allow cell phones during instructional time or during the day uh at all. So, I thought that that was one that you may want to have
123highlighted. Um, we did meet um for our leadership team, we met in December. Uh, we pivoted for based on weather um and met virtually. Uh, what all of our leaders within the environmental model was, they took their observations. They talked about what they saw from their observations. What were strengths in the buildings, what were areas within the observ or within the um within the cornerstones and dimensions of the thoughtful classroom had they not seen uh in ways that they thought that they may engage their teachers or their professional development to support. Um, I got to uh get into a classroom today and was just thrilled as I always am when I get into classrooms about um not only the engagement from the students but the engagement from the staff who are like really excited um
124and highly knowledgeable in their content areas. So, um we had a leadership retreat uh this in January. Uh it's a couple weeks ago now. um special ed uh did present um they did some information regarding um discipline procedures for special ed and 504 because those do vary um based on those uh students needs. Um and then along with that we had a variety of different uh sessions where we talked about bullying policies and how um to fill out the investigation forms. Uh we talked about AI in education. Um that was fun. It's uh I've already got leaders. So, what we what we feel like is that if we can get our leaders and then our teachers more acclimated to using it, they won't be so scared to use it when it comes down the pipeline
125where we do want to introduce it to children in in a very controlled environment. Some of the curriculum companies actually have those things embedded into their not like just o not giving a child open uh AI or anything like that but there are elements that we that make the job easier for not only admin but teachers but I really feel like we need to model that um to kind of break down there's it feels like they're very separated um in comfort level. So um can you >> share one? >> Yeah, go ahead. >> So one that was shared is um one of the school's mascots is an eagle. So, he wanted to take the eagle and turn it into a video about um appropriate behaviors in the building. So, that's what it did. He took
126a picture of this eagle on his desk, put it into I don't remember which one he used um and said, "Create a video where the eagle is >> animated script >> and here's the script." And it was it I was like, "Oh my gosh, that's like total AI." It's like it was really cool. It was completely everything he wanted it to say, but you know, kid-friendly and he controlled the narrative and it the mouth moved and everything. [laughter] >> It was a stuffed animal. Yeah. So, I thought that was pretty interesting. >> Uh anywhere from making presentations or creating um various graphics regarding data. So, um it was it was really great. Leaders got to spend a lot of time. We also went through BAMs and the investigation process and do those. So, a lot
127of those things um that we you'll probably hear us repeat that we do training on because they're that important um that we do spend that time. So, and then and then just getting together with all 16 schools and getting to talk to leaders. Um they did some problem solving activities and things. So, that was great. Um uh yeah, the last is really around which is just your technology in a five-year new cycle. So, Okay. >> Were there any updates or >> do you want to talk through fifth grade? >> So I I do have um >> teacher left though we haven't met since. >> Oh yes. So we did have um fifth grade teacher did resign to take a different position. Um today was her last day. Um, we do have a posting out for
128a full-time teacher and we're in the process of backfilling with a long-term sub, >> which we have. >> Yeah, I have I have somebody in mind. We're just finalizing those few HR pieces, which the um the plan is to have that person start on Monday in the classroom. And once I have the final okay, I will share that information out with the community. >> Okay. Um and it um the teacher that did leave is going to be a loss I know to several students. Um so I want to thank that teacher for their >> tenure. Yeah. Yeah. And it wasn't anything. It was it's a huge opportunity for her is what it is. She's going to greatly miss. >> She loves >> she's doing summer >> summer camp. >> Yeah. She's not leaving. in touch
129with >> she wants to do camp too. She goes, "Can I go to camp for fifth grade?" I'm like, "Let's see what happens." [laughter] >> Uh we also in her future endeavors [clears throat] um will be working together. They she will be working with future student teachers and placements. So, we will definitely stay connected um and wish her the best. The kids celebrated her today. It was a fantastic with Marvel Madness and [laughter] launched and everything. It was a lot of a lot of excitement. >> She had a short but impactful time here. So, thank you and I look forward to seeing her on our campus and events like >> Can I say one last thing? >> Um, it is board appreciation month and so uh I know that it can be difficult and you
130dedicate a lot of time and energy and what you see here tonight is just the surface of what is actually happening with the board um outside of here. And so while the community may not see all the effort and time that you put into the Kingsbury community outside of sitting here at our tables, um I commend you and appreciate you and it's um it's really great how many of you have been on the board for so very long and it's brought a lot of stability and legacy to the fantastic community. And so I appreciate all >> that you do and have done. you've navigated a lot of tough waters um and have come out really strong and so thank you for your service. >> Yes. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> So um I don't
131believe there's a need. Does anybody want to move for a close session? >> No. [laughter] >> At this time then we will open for extended public comments. Please remember um to be courteous in your statements. Um and there is a threem minute time limit. I recognize everybody that is here. So, I'm not going to go into the whole spiel um of just because you can say it doesn't mean you should. Um but again, just be responsible and respectful in any comments that you have. Um and I also want to be very mindful that um no individual um persons should be mentioned. The comments should be made to the board as a whole with that and oh also identify who you are. So, let me know. Um, so at this time, any public comment? >> Casey
132Miller, fourth grade teacher. Um, I am in the process of applying for a salmon in the classroom opportunity. So what this will do is if approved um with help of funding from a KPA, I will be able to be certified to transport salmon eggs back here to Kingsberry and tank them in the ESP building and raise them to where at the end of the year we'll be able to go actually stock them in a local waterhed. Um, and so there'll be an opportunity for not just fourth grade students, but for the entire schools to um, be able to see them, be involved, and just kind of bring in some more fun things for our students here. >> And to be clear, you're saying salmon, like fish, >> salmon eggs. >> So, you get a certain
133amount of them, you transport them back, and then students will nurse them. They can feed them the food over time, right? It changes. Um, so you get to see, my other schools have them. You get to see them from eggs submerge. You get to see how many make it. I've seen some where there's like two heads for a very, very long time. Um, [laughter] yeah, it's it's amazing. >> Oh, how fun. >> And then you release them. >> So you're not only raising them, but you're restocking local. >> You can pick a local water. There's two that we can pick that are around here. >> Wow. What an awesome thing. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Please keep us posted. [laughter] >> That's [laughter] a really cool thing. >> I love fishy. That's No, but
134I think it's incredible. I think students here are gonna absolutely love it. >> Yes. >> Wow. >> I'm I'm mostly shocked. I've never heard of that before. So, thank you for looking into that. Any other comments? Um yeah, just real quick, Rachel Striker, I'm a parent and then also on TV. Um on the calendars for the summer camp, which is awesome. I love it. I love the color coding. There's no times though and so I don't know what like time to bring my kid or bring him home. So just make just some feedback on that. But that's I'm just bringing them and [laughter] drop them off. just slide right through the stop. >> It's on the Google form. >> As I was looking, I was noticing that same thing with the times. So, >> it's
135on the form, not on the the pretty flyer. Yep. I will get that fixed. >> Thank you. >> So, my enrollment also is looking really well. Add that in there. >> Yes, it is. >> Was looking at numbers today and I think one of my camps has like 24 kids registered already. >> So, numbers are looking really well. Yes. Yes. >> I think we're only allowed to have 18. >> Yeah. We'll see what your final numbers are. There's quite a few people that were like, "Somebody need help? Need help?" So, >> or seventh grade into that's an option, >> too. Yep. What what that really is is a review of how much people hold um the the teachers abilities and camps and what they're doing in in high esteem. the fact that you know I'm
136two months ahead of the cut off date you're full >> and the thing we haven't had stuff on campus for like so exciting in just a short time here last year >> just a little bit >> and that gets out into the community you know they find out what we do here and it's so >> well there was at least one student that we >> yeah that came last year as a guest and has joined Oh, >> yeah. >> Yes. >> Um, any other public comments? >> No, not tonight. >> All right. So, hearing no other public comments, the next regular board meeting is 6 p.m. It's Thursday, February 19th. It's not a regular Monday because of President's Day or as Valentine [laughter] Valentine. >> Whatever. >> So, we look forward to seeing everybody. That'll
