Don't mute your phone, please. I would wait right to the last second. Just >> wait until exactly 4:30. There it's 4:30. >> Okay. I am going to call our meeting to order. If anyone wishes to address the board is to do so with these stipulations. The board may limit the amount of times per comment may become extensive. If the speaker begins to infringe on the right of privacy of another, the board may interrupt and end comment on that issue. Even if the comments are entirely appropriate, the board will take no action on them at this meeting to ensure others who want to address the same issue have the opportunity to do so. It may be placed on the agenda at a later meeting. Um, moving along, we interviewed three applicants on Monday the 27th for the superintendent position. >> Um, guess is there any

discussion from the board or >> u you might want to say who the three applicants are for for the record? >> Um, we interviewed Timberly Kelly, uh, Tim Norbeck and Eric Gust on Monday and two of them are with us now. Timberly I don't think called in, did she? >> No. >> Okay. Is there any discussion? >> You can entertain a motion and then discuss after. Okay. If there's a motion, >> I'll entertain a motion to hire for the point to or offer for the 0.2 superintendent position for the 2026 2027 school year. I'll make a motion to offer Eric Gustoson the point to superintendent position for 2026 2027 school year. >> I'll second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Any further discussion? >> Motion carries. So we will be in touch with Mr.

at a later date to go over contract information. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Moving right along. Um we are going to move on to certified staff contracts for the 2026 2027 school year. As I as I noted, I I put three sample motions in for with my recommendations. Um I don't know I don't know how you want to do them, but >> Okay. >> The the first the first recommendation was to approve the non-renewal of Stephanie Scott without cause. >> Okay. So, you get a motion in a second and then go to discussion. >> Okay. I will accept a motion to nonrenew Stephanie Scott without pause. >> I'll make a motion to make a motion for my renewal of Sing. Second the motion. All in favor? >> No. We do discussions now. >> Any discussion?

>> No. No. >> First. >> I think this is the where you would get to speak. >> No, you do the >> Yep. You make the motion and then go to discussion. >> So, it's open for discussion. >> It's open for discussion. The board will not be commenting back. will be listening to this session but will you please sign in for Britain on a podium if you do decide to speak. >> Thank you. If other people speak with your >> and we may limit the time it becomes sensitive just so you know we have interify just so you have >> heads No, you're good. >> Okay. Okay. Board members, I know that you received my email with my letters of recommendation from your staff members, including Mr. Jameson. Um, I know that you also received

copies of my core evaluations that have been completed over the past two years. Uh, many of my scores being distinguished, which is a hard level to meet as an educator, the top level. Um, I've also printed out and whited out names of my dimples test score if you'd like to compare to my scores from fall to winter. I'll pass that around if you'd like to take a look at it. Uh, greetings. Thank you for meeting today to go over the contract rebuild. I appreciate moving the meeting up. Um, I'm here today to defend my contract as I do not believe I deserve the recommendation of being presented to you from administrator David Silic. Uh, I am finishing up my second year here in Boulder and I thoroughly enjoy teaching fifth grade. This is finishing up

my 11th year teaching and I know I am where I am supposed to be. Becoming a teacher was a spiritual decision after working in the corporate world for two years. Being told my contract was not going to be recommended for rehire was a complete and utter shock to me, my colleagues, and parents for students I got in my class. I'm a very effective teacher and I always put my students first. Many days I arrive before administrators arrive and leave after administrators leave. I show up with a positive attitude and I have built rapport with many staff members. I have multiple students who give me hugs daily in the hallway. students from last year, students from this year. I've never been spoken to about anything I'm doing wrong in my classroom. This news came to me

just two weeks after Mr. Selvic had approved for myself and our new fourth grade teacher to attend the Montana Summer Institute at Mostman. She too sees the changes that need to be made around here. I'm very much looking forward to collaboration with our new fourth grade teacher as she and I worked closely together this year to ensure our students were getting what they needed. We're going to make a great team, her and I. EF has a lot of potential. It also has a lot of things that need improvement. Good leaders take their team strengths and use them to help the overall mission of the organization. I have offered more than once to help get an MTSS team organized and to help with issues of non-compliance in the special education department. I speak for the trees.

I've always and will continue to speak for the trees. I'm referencing a popular story, The Lorax, written by Dr. Seuss. In this story, the Lorax is upset because the truffle trees are being cut down in mass quantities. The trees cannot speak for themselves, so the Lorax speaks for them, trying to stop a large company from cutting down all of the trees. This is what I have been doing the past two years while a fifth grade teacher here on the tree. The trees in my story are the children I serve, and I am the Lord. I speak for the children. The last two years have had many challenges and I'm not one to be quiet when I see children are not getting what they need. Some administrators want teachers to be quiet. Last year I spoke

for the children. My grade level team wanted to have a grade level meeting during our lunch break. Having done grade level meetings my entire career and knowing how valuable they are to student success, I would not agree to squeezing in a meeting that should last at least an hour to lasting 20 minutes while trying to use the restroom, eat my food, and make any personal phone calls needed. I know what best practices we need to follow in education. And I was happy to hear Boulder does win intervention groups when I first started. I have been supportive of win groups since day one, but unfortunately my team would not get on board and would not commit to grade level meetings to accomplish themes such as creating and planning intervention groups or brainstorming ideas for our struggling

students. There was no guidance or followthrough from administrators. One of my team members continued to harass me about meetings during lunch to the point of being spoken to by administrators. She was told to drop the subject matter. I spoke for the children many times last year and was told it would be better this year, that my team would be required to attend our meetings that are in our contract and win groups would happen. However, there was still no further movement in accomplishing these important tasks. I would also like to point out that I fulfilled my contractual obligations and stayed until 4:30 on grade level meeting dates as assigned in the district calendar, even when my team did not attend. I'm a professional and I take my job very seriously. This year brought new challenges with

working with the special education department since I had more intensive needs than last year. Also want to point out I was a special education teacher sisters. Uh I thoroughly have enjoyed my time working with these students. They brought me much joy this year. However, I had to speak for these children's children almost daily due to lack of organization, collaboration, planning, and effort from sport staff. I was diligent in my communication when it came to making decisions on programming, accommodations, and scheduling. I did not receive the same diligence in return. In fact, many times I received no response about my concerns about the children. Programming that was decided on by both myself and the support staff did not fall through. Scheduling was a daily nightmare for at least half of the year. I didn't know if

there would be support in my room each day, what time someone would randomly appear, and who it would be. Many times being told I just wouldn't have anyone. My students with special needs suffered and the trickle effect impacted all students. Pair professionals were never trained and I was expected to stop teaching to train them. I believe I had six new pairs this year for one student that requires support. One time a new pair was trying to understand her schedule and it was confusing. So I had her go check with the special education department only for her to come back and be very appalled that the special education department had told her that I need to get my together. >> Good. I went to admin concerns of working in a hostile environment after she continued to

say more things about me. Admin did ask her to stop speaking ill of me to other staff members. I found out a week ago it started up again. >> I just I just want to say that if they're getting into another staff member's performance that can't. >> Uh there are a few staff members in this building that create drama or unprofessional or unwilling to do whatever it takes to give kids what they need. With little guidance given from administrators, this environment continued to worsen as the year went on. I'm almost done. Thank you. Um um the only reason I can conclude that Mr. Salvig is not recommending me for rehire is due to a write up that Mr. Jameson completed about me a couple months ago during a grade level meeting our team had on

the agenda to discuss issues we were having with the professional that is no longer employed at BES when I brought it up Mr. Jameson asked me to discuss it with him the next day I said that the reason we wanted to discuss it was because other team members were also having issues another teacher mentioned she was having issues with that parah and Mr. Jamson asked them that that teacher to explain the issue and gave them a solution to the problem in the meeting in front of all of us. This led me to believe it was okay to talk about this parrot in the meeting. When our school counselor asked what the issues were, I explained. Mr. Jameson didn't say anything else about discussing it with me the next day. Then the next morning when I

was at school, well before contract hours, he stormed into my room and before I could even put my stuff down and irrationally reacted to me being disrespectful to him in the meeting. He stormed in my room, rose his voice, and told me it will never happen again. He left my room, and by the end of the day, he had written me up for being insubordinate, a claim he never mentioned when he verbally attacked me. >> Miss Scott. Yeah, >> you can't go into another staff member's performance without them being notified that they were going to be mentioned in a meeting. >> Ranting about his performance, correct? >> Yeah, but you're talking about his performance. >> Um, I believe his uh feelings and emotions were motivation. >> Can I mention how I don't know what else

I can mention. Uh, Mr. Selvin didn't care to hear from me the details. Uh he didn't talk to any of the other other staff members about the incident. Believe what other Mr. Jameson said. Um I've never been a defant of authority as inordination is defined in the Webster dictionary. Um I hope you understand how confused I was whether or not we could talk. My closing statement I'm asking that my contract be renewed. I don't feel like my work here is done and I have been told by many that bees haven't had a good fifth grade teacher in years and so happy to have me. So many appreciate the work I do with students every day. Why this is happening, I have no idea. I can only come to the conclusion that I spoke too much

for the trees. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Anyone else wishing to address this topic? Go >> ahead. I'll make it real quick. I just um Richie, >> would you please sign in? I'm sorry to interrupt you. Is there there might be a pen underneath the >> There's a pen. >> Oh, did she take Sorry. Thank you. Um, I'm Eric Richie. Um, I have a student that was in Miss Scott's class last year. And I personally just want to say I love Boulder Elementary. I appreciate all the staff. I appreciate you guys all very much. And I appreciated Miss Scott as a teacher for my my student. Um, I think she brought many opportunities uh that she sought out um for the class to better the class. Um, and I appreciated those. My my student

appreciated those. I think she is um a tough teacher and I think that's a little uncomfortable for some students, but I watched my child grow in her class, which I very much appreciated. So, um, I don't know. Um, I don't know what all this is about, but I just wanted to make sure that I did, you know, just say I did appreciate her as a teacher. I've appreciated pretty much all the teachers here and um and just uh to really take into consideration because it's hard when you lose a good teacher. So unless there's a really good reason, I just recommend that you take some deep thought on it. So thank you for your time. I appreciate you all very much. >> Thank you. Hi, my name is Shan Lion. I um have a student

with Miss Scott this year and I have absolutely adored having Miss Scott. Last year we didn't have hardly any communication back and forth which was hard. new teacher. I don't want to mention that. But um Miss Scott is fantastic at communicating with parents, communicating with students. Yes, it's tough. Fifth grade is hard work. It's the stepping stone onto middle school. And she really tells them that like you need to get your act together, which I think is very refreshing as a parent when a lot of times you just don't get that communication. not like when I was in school, that's for sure. Um, there's been a lot more opportunities between parent and student. Um, just because Miss Scott has made it aware of things that have happened. Um, my student, my son struggled with bullying

this year and I think the situation, the incident was handled very professionally and very well on Miss Scott's part. Um, I can't say for the other for administration was handled well or even kind of fell on deaf ears. Um, but I feel like Miss Scott has been an exceptional teacher and I would hate to see her not get renewed because her work is not done here. She cares. She speaks for the trees. She is a wonderful person and teacher. She works extremely hard during school hours and off school hours is when we have seen her as well. Um she she very hardworking woman and mom and teacher and like she said her work is not done yet and I would hate to see it cut short. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Is there anyone

else that's just on this item? >> Okay. Yes, please. >> Sorry. No. Okay. Um I I guess um I don't work directly with Mrs. Scott. Um I have worked um just personally with her. Um just some of the stuff that I've heard she does a very good job with the fifth graders. I know she worked with my husband over at the high school um collaboratively really well with some of the stuff that they have been trying to put forth this year. sure they haven't been able to get their schedules working together. But um yeah, I think that I don't know again I am not aware of any of the situation that's going on either and um but I'm just I'm here to say that I feel that she has been doing a great job in

the job that she has had. Um, so whatever decision is made, just wanted to put that out there that I have had no personal issues. And again, because we're on different ends of the building, um, I have found sixth graders, academics to be um, at the level where they're supposed to be. Um, so I don't feel that that's an issue. Um, so that's what I wanted to say. I got finish this because I can't do two things at once. Thank you. >> Any other discussion? Motion on the table. Motion in a second on the table. So, >> okay. So, all in favor of the motion to nominate is definitely s without pause say I. >> I. Ray, you still there? >> Are you still there, Ray? >> Seeing no nays, motion carries. >> Um, moving

to agenda item number two. >> It's Yeah, it's now the next motion is to um give offer contracts to the certified staff listed there. Okay. >> And since we're not done with negotiations, Britain will give them a letter of intent, but it's a contract. So, we're offering contracts to them. >> Do I need to list them by name or can I say >> you Britain can put them in the minutes, but you can list them by name however you want to do it. And you can do each one individually or all at once. >> How would you? So, I will accept a motion to approve the certified staff as presented in our board packet for the 2026 2027 school year. >> I make a motion to offer contracts for the certified staff listed as listed

for the 2627 school year. >> Second. >> Any discussion? Seeing none, all in favor? Right. >> Motion carried. >> Is he under duress? >> He sounds frustrated. >> Oh, >> there you go. That's just what everyone wants, right? >> Okay. So, moving on to item number three in the uh contract renewal. It is approving Quinn man for the 2026 2027 title one position. >> Yeah, she was interviewed last Thursday, I believe. >> I think so. >> Yep. And the the interview committee all recommended her. >> Okay. So, I will accept a motion to approve man for the 2026 2027 title one position. I make a motion to approve Quinn man for our 2026 2027 title one. >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> All those in favor? >> I >> motion carries. Um moving on to

our classified staff. >> Uh there's one other one that we would like to add. Um, we have a parah that rides the bus with a student from Basin that I didn't I um >> Pam Weber. >> I accidentally left her off the list. >> We hired her a couple months ago though. Correct. >> It's been a while beginning. >> Y. >> So, do I just include as presented and Pam Liver? >> Yep. >> Okay. So, I'll accept a motion to approve the classified personnel as presented, including Pam Weber, for the 2026 2027 school year. >> I make a motion to hire all presented for the 2026 2027 school year plus Pam Weber. >> Any discussion? All those in favor? >> I. Motion carries. And at this time we are going to wait the seven minutes

and we'll start principal interviews at 5 p.m. >> I'm going to stop this and then start it again. Okay. >> That way it's
