All right, I think we're just going to open it up here. Go for it. Okay. All right. Well, good afternoon. Welcome to Student Memorial Field. We've got MHS boys varsity lacrosse. The Tomahawks, are welcoming the Exeter Blue Hawks to town. Beautiful, yet windy day here in Merrimack. [snorts and clears throat] My name is Justin Slezak. I'm the assistant media services coordinator for the town of Merrimack. I'll be running camera today. Got Grace LeMay back at the studio. She'll be running replays and living her best Chud life for real. Um, she'll also be doing uh planning board right around 6:30, so we might see a little dip in the in the replays around then. Shout out to Grace. And of course, I am joined for play-by-play and commentary by Ronan Brown and Dan Bergin. Gentlemen, how

you doing today? Never better, and yourself, Justin? Thanks for asking. >> I'm doing well, Ronan. How about yourself? I see you're doing some notes over there. Don't let me stop you. >> doing some notes. It's a beautiful day here. Absolutely. So, I didn't I didn't check the the standings here. I don't know if you guys have uh win-loss records or anything like that. I'm sure Yeah, Merrimack is currently 6 and 2. Uh Exeter is 6 and 3. Okay. >> Merrimack is currently on a back-to-back. They had a a game last night against um somebody. Nashua Nashua South. Nashua South, yes. Yeah, 8-4. >> good game. >> Yeah. Definitely be interested to see how this one goes. Two pretty evenly matched teams. Exeter took it to overtime against Pinkerton, who blew out Merrimack 17 to 2.

So, definitely something to keep an eye out. Could be a streaky team where they put together a lot of goals in a very little amount of time. As Exeter is going to start it off on offense behind the crease on this gorgeous day at Student Memorial Field. Had a chance to speak with Coach Miller, uh the head coach of the Merrimack varsity, and he said he's, you know, they're pretty much where they need to be. They just he little disappointed in the Londonderry loss, but Londonderry's a good team as well. As our first goal is scored by Exeter. I'm sure I'll get that number momentarily. I didn't see it. I was too busy trying to sound brilliant with my inside info. [laughter] It's It's working, Dan. >> All right. >> I also missed the number,

so apologies. All right. Just happened so fast. As I'm looking at this Exeter roster, there is a kid named Ronan Oh. >> on know. As Merrimack trying to come away with this is there's bodies on the ground. Official will blow the whistle. Look to me like a push in the back. And Merrimack will take it. LeBlanc into the offensive end. Now, Kovalev is going to send it back to Dineen. Over Khan. Merrimack looking to set up some offense here. Scott's going to come in for Merrimack, and he's going to take a little extra step and get it inside and rip one top. Good save. For Exeter, first save of the night, first shot of the night for Merrimack. Uh looks like James Burnish for Exeter is the keeper. Does seem that way. Tough spot. Pass

will go out of bounds, so Merrimack will take it. Send it over to Dineen. Dineen's got that sneaky speed, and he's got a little bit of height. By a little bit, I mean a lot. Stein's going to calm it down at the top. So, take a little stutter step to the inside. Working around his options, here's Kovalev. Kovalev's going to send it back out to Dineen. Merrimack looking for a little bit of cuts here. Stein's going to get over Khan. Back to Dine. Dine's going to look to work it. Take a little inside move. Get jabbed out. Great defense so far for the Exeter. Not letting anything inside other than that first shot. It's no easy task keeping Caden Dine out of the attacking area. It's passed to Scott, his basketball and football teammate. And

Scott's going to take a good inside move. Take him all the way inside and knifes his way through and what a goal. And he's hyped up. Got through three defenders. And finished it. We'll get a replay of that one. Great move. Great ball control. Right in the back of the net. For Shay Scott. And we are all tied up here at one early on at Stue Memorial Field. Now the offense looks a little happy to kind of just ask some questions around the perimeter and then Goal scorer took it upon himself to beat three people. It's a good win there for Cash Torres. Merrimack's one of Merrimack's freshman along with Kovalev and Egan on this varsity team. Is that the brother of the Shay Egan? It sure is. All right. Is proud dad John Egan

on the scoreboard tonight? I'm not sure if he's a I would assume he's He is. I can see him. Assuming he's the dad. Stein's going to take it back up top like he did last possession. Take his time with it. Now takes his jab to his right and he's got room to run. Sends it over to Anderson. Fumbles the catch and now swat at it. Anderson trying to get on it is Exeter's going to come away with it. Anderson in hot pursuit. Rocking with all of his might. So Anderson is going to take it to the front end. Send it all the way over to the far side. It's Torres defending. And they're going to send it behind the crease. The heat definitely might play a factor here. After half time as it is really

hot and the sun is bearing down on these players. Anderson is going to try and make an inside move. Good defense from Torres. Yeah, the wind as well. Although it seems to have died down a little bit at the start of this game. Yeah, there was a lot of headwind. Earlier on and good shot but a good save for Tremblay. Reigning defensive player of the year for D1, the state of New Hampshire people. >> Big tasty. >> D1. Big tasty. Torres is going to try and get it to the front. Sends an underhand pass. Great catch for Shawn Anderson one-handed. He's getting snazzy with it. She's got that knee brace on in a game right before break. Tweaked that knee a little bit. Looking to try and work that off as he gets it over

to Dineen who's going to make an attacking move right inside and swings it way over the net. Hard shot for Dineen. It's all right. Merrimack will take it back. Sometimes those early long distance shots keeps the defense honest from always sagging back. Yeah, it keeps them on their toes. Here's Gorman. He's going to try and bend the corner. Gorman also played football with Dineen Scott in the fall. Here's Gorman looking for an option now. Up at the top, not typically where he is as he's typically behind the crease. Let's get back up to Kahn. Now here's Anderson over to Kahn. Kahn's going to rip one low. Looks like his stick might have got deflected. But Merrimack will take it back Coleby with his What's the nearest? Coleby with behind the crease trying to make a

move. He's going to knife his way inside. He's going to loses the ball. It will roll to goalie. Now Exeter is going to try and take it but it gets bobbled around and That's a good defense there from Kahn. Great opportunity there for Gorman. Couldn't catch it. A little bit behind him or excuse me in front of him on the pass. Coleby was going to take it away and now Anderson couldn't get there but Kahn's going to scoop it up. Kahn looking for an option. Now gets it to Dine. Dine taking his time now. Back up top. He's going to run it around to the top. Over to Anderson. She's going to back it all the way up. She's doing a little back pedal. The coach Miller's calling the play here. Looks like Merrimack will

try and run a play. Anderson's getting forced out. She's looking for an option. Oh, good fake pass there. Anderson's going to rip one low. And a good save for Exeter. James Burnich. Yeah, Anderson has always been above average with the fake pass skill. He's got great ball control at all times. He was fooling me all day yesterday, honestly. He loves that little fake over the head. It's Gorman knifing his way in. Behind the net bounces it away. >> [clears throat] >> Good save by the keep and then a crease violation. Possession Exeter. James Burnich with another save. He's showing out here for Exeter. So now Exeter trying to get it into the front field once again. They'll get it behind the crease. And here comes that wind. Feel the wind. And Exeter great spin move

inside. Good save there for Tremblay. And that was a good quick release there by Sam Gibney. Yeah, good spin especially to get around his defenders. He's their score. I talked to their coach before the game who is a 2015 graduate of Merrimack High School. >> Really? Played for Coach Miller. Captain. First team all state and played at Sacred Heart University. Wow, that's some accolades right there. That's impressive. Tremblay comes away with the save and will now get it to Hickey who will send it up to LeBlanc who gets bobbled up and he's going to somehow take it. LeBlanc very versatile, very quick on his feet. Very fast. Hickey tried to get it. Missed the pass as Exeter will take it. Now Torres coming back in. Exeter on the attack. Tried to fake it looked like.

Lost the ball. Now it's a fight for the ball down low. The ball has come out and now Sherette trying to corral it and will get it bounced up front. Kind of a free one here for the LSM. So here comes Newman. One of Merrimack's D poles into the front field. He's looking for an option. He'll get a pass over to Kovalev and he's going to run back to his position. So here comes Caden Dine running inside. He's got some space. He's going to rip one. But a good save for Bernich once again. Caden Dine's shot is just so quick and hard to save no matter where it is in the net. Great job getting there as Exeter is going to take it to their offensive end. this has been back and forth so far.

Yeah, well >> to say equal time offensively. Yeah, I'd say very equal across the board. Scoreline reflects that, 1-1. As Exeter is going to take it top and now work it behind the crease. Good defense from Torres. Good cut in there for Exeter who's trying to get a body out. Great defense for Merrimack. What a penalty on the play. It's like Newman had some great defense there. Might have been a little bit too hard as Tremblay goes and picks up the flag. Might have got him with a trip with that back leg. He was kind of stumbling as he got it. Inadvertent, but nonetheless a penalty. So, we'll see how Merrimack responds in a man-down situation. Now Exeter working behind the crease. Merrimack trying to figure out their defense. Get bodies on as many people

as they can as Shred and pressure. Now here's Exeter at the top. He's going to try and work it over. >> Yeah, good job by Hickey deflecting that. High shot past the net. Exeter will take it back. So, they're going to take it in behind the crease. Take another shot right through the legs of Tremblay. Great shot for Exeter. Low, hard to get to. Yeah, Tremblay wants that one back. I can tell by his body language having watched him for Now, this is the fourth year. As that was number 20, Alex Kerrigan with the second goal of the game for Exeter. Exeter now has a one-goal advantage with a minute and 26 left in this first quarter. It's not a lot of penalties so far. This game's been going by pretty quickly. Yeah, Alan. Not

a lot of stoppages of play. Good catch for Sherette, who's in the >> offensive end, and he'll get it back to Dine. Now here comes Scott for Merrimack. He'll give it to him. He's going to rip one low, and a good hard shot. Great save again by Bernich. Got that stick almost upside down to save that one. As now LeBlanc comes out, gets a good hit on the ball, and Dine's going to knock it down and try and go for it. Now it's bobbled around, and it will go out of bounds. Looks like Exeter will have it. >> Yeah. Dine last to touch. So now Merrimack's going to get back in their defensive stance. Exeter working it behind the crease. Now Newman in pressure. Now Good pass inside for Exeter, and another good pass and

goal. Credit to Exeter there. Excellent tight play and tight passing uh in front of the goal. Yeah, their passing, their catching is just fantastic. So that was number 15, Matthew Wilhelm. So we'll see if Merrimack can start to push back here a little bit. Down by a have two goals with a minute plus in the first quarter. Yeah, just over a minute remaining in this first. Merrimack's got to shift the momentum as much as they can. He's holding his stick. Oh, I had that the other way. Reed Gaidish will get that penalty as Torres is going to come in for him. Now, Exeters working into the offensive end. Offsides. Too many men on the field. Possession change. Hard penalty for Exeters. This will give Merrimack a good chance to try and score one more before

the end of this first quarter. So, the Blank backing it up. Now, he will take it in. The Blank very quick on his feet. That was offsides as well. So, now here's Kovalev. Trying to get an option before the end of this quarter. Just 45 seconds remaining. He gets it over to Anderson. Anderson back up to Scott. Scott who's been a lot of Merrimack's offense. Just going to have to take an attack here as they get it to Kahn. Over to Dineen. Looks like they might try and waste out the clock till that final buzzer. Looks like they're going to put it in Dineen's hands here. So, here's Dineen on the attack. Quick step to get back out. Send it over to Kahn. Now, Kahn with 15. Gets it to Kovalev. Now, there's 10 remaining.

Here's Scott. He's got to make a move. There's 7 seconds left and he's going to take it inside. It's up to him and a bounce shot goes in. >> [applause and cheering] >> Scott keeping Merrimack alive. Good shot. So, we'll get a replay on that. Bounce her right between the goalie's legs. And Scott's got his second for the second goal of Merrimack. Clutch little goal right there. Yeah, definitely a momentum shifter. Agreed. Something you need going into the second quarter. 2.4 remaining. You can't You can't think there's going to be too much to do here. He's going to try and come away with it, but the buzzer will sound. And that will take us to the end of the first with the score Exeter 3, Merrimack 2. Well, thank you for watching today's game on

It just seems to stopped as soon as the game started. >> Yeah, I noticed that as well. We had papers and hats and

glasses blowing all over the place in the press box here and now, you know, maybe 5, 10 mph. Flag is not really moving around too much. I know I was at my house before this, and my my magnets on my fridge were blowing off, and I was like, "This has [laughter] never happened before." Yeah. Yeah, that flag looked like it was ready to blow off the pole earlier, for sure. >> pole was leaning under pressure. Checking on 33 miles an hour according to >> Wow. Dang. the weather app, which is my most trusted app for weather. All right. This is not an ad. I love my weather app. >> an This is an opinion. But feel free to sponsor Merrimack TV. Right. Right. Right. If you want to reach out and Yeah, we'll do some

reads for you. Yeah. Both teams taking the field. Looks like it's Cap Torres, Charette, and LeBlanc rounding out this midfield to try and win this face-off. Torres is going to bat it back to LeBlanc. He's going to corral it and get it snapped away. Now he's going to pick it up. Now it gets taken away as Exeter coming out aggressive. Torres trying to get back in defense. Torres very strong player for his age. Has Exeter's going to have an opportunity to take it to the offensive end. Merrimack setting up their defense. Exeter's going to pass it back out. Now work it to the top. Now Exeter on the attack. Gets knocked away. Good defense from LeBlanc. Now they're behind the crease. As you see Tremblay getting ready. Oh, and great defense from LeBlanc to knock

that one away. Would have been a good shot opportunity. Fantastic defense. Now they're going to get it back to Tremblay who's going to try the long pass. Great pass right to the stick of Charette who's getting hacked out there. Good defense from Exeter. Charrette's going to come away with it. Time out, Merrimack. Good time out. Charrette was getting mauled in the midfield. It was a good outlet by big tasty. Yeah, definitely. Great pass. And whether you're Blue Hawks fan, whether you're Tomahawks fan, you want to shout out, head over to our Facebook page and leave a comment on the post about today's game. Probably read those going to see probably right around half time. All right. Great idea. >> Yeah. I only have a few great ideas per uh per month, so >> [laughter] >> get them out of the way early. Cinco de Mayo. Oh, yes, it is Cinco de Mayo today. Taco Tuesday on Cinco de Mayo. >> Having some tacos? >> goodness. >> It was my plan. It was meant to be. >> Is that your >> plan running it over there? >> home and having some tacos. >> Nice.

>> It's my It's my friend's birthday, so great. Should be should be fun. I heard Summer speaking with him before the game. We're going to have tacos. Taco time. It's also one of my friend's birthday today. Dylan Clemenco, shout out to him. Call it Clemenco de Mayo. Oh, that's tough. So That is quite witty. It's something. I do love it though. >> [laughter] >> Well, I know no one born today, so uh shout out to somebody out there. I'll say shout out to Shawn Warren. He's He's back home somewhere. All right. Well, Merrimack starts with possession. Yes. Here's Scott. He's been Merrimack's offense and anchor today. Yeah, he's been good. He's been lively. Bulky frame, very quick on his feet. Yeah, that's what I noticed. Did you say he was a basketball player? He is

a basketball and football player. >> And football. And Dynes as well. >> Dynes as well. Chase Scott, well known for uh benching 300. That's great shot there for Anderson. Went right by the goalie. This would be right out of the reach of the net. Scott will take it. >> So, he's benching 300 nowadays? >> He is benching 300. Wowee. That's crazy talk. So, he will He is in Chase Scott. Send it over to Kovalev. He'll get it back to Khan. Over to Dynes. Remember my coaching around the horn. Stein's going to make an inside move. Pass inside. Gorman had a good look there. Just dropped it. Exeter's going to try and make up some field here. It's Merrimack trying to get back. Yeah, Gorman just He had the good idea. Just didn't stick in his

pocket. So, Exeter's going to get a great opportunity. So, they have that backside at the back door right there. Looks like they didn't go for the shot as they're going to let Merrimack set up their defense and get their subs in. Yeah, they had some personnel to change up top. It's Exeter with those pink cleats. Those are nice. And we're getting behind the crease. Now, Exeter way back up top. Tracked out by Charette. Exeter trying to get a screen. We'll rip one top. Good save from Tremblay. Saved it off his leg and Hickey into the front field as he got hacked in the leg. Big man moving. He's going to get hacked once again. He's limping. He's going to send it back to Dineen who's going to try and scoop it up and we're going

to take it. >> As Hickey's hurting as he's down on the sideline. Not good. He's a stalwart of their defense, but I know him to be a very tough kid. Yeah, very very very tough player and human as Scott's going to take it up top. As Hickey now receiving some medical attention as Scott's going to take a little trip. Will fall out of his stick and will now roll into Exeter's hands. Now Merrimack making some defensive subs. Logan Melendy subbed in. Slash 1-minute penalty. Not locked in. Tim, could you enlighten me on what not locked in Uh so if it's if it's locked in, uh the penalty is served no matter how many goals you score. Oh, okay. Um I they don't really say not locked in, they just don't say locked in. I see.

Okay. Thank you for that clarity. No problem. Here's Scott inside to Gorman. Gorman trying to make a move. Somehow keeping it up. As Kovalev will fumble it. We're now staying in pursuit. As Exeter's trying to get it out of that coffin corner. They're going to send it to the front of the net. Good catch for Exeter. Got it out of that trouble zone. And they're going to take it into the front field. Now, Exeter are making some switches. So, they're going to take it to the front. Now, Melendez taking up Hickey's spot on that far side. Definitely something to look out for. You got to think Exeter's going to attack that. Yeah, I'm sure the coaching staff is aware of the the status of a defensive leader being on the bench. I can see him

over. Medical staff is looking at him. Looks like he got up and walked to the bench, and so, that's a good sign, but he is writhing in pain. Exeter will take a shot and miss it. They're trying to work it inside. They'll get it behind the crease. Newman trying to cover some ground. They're looking to back out. Buccellato getting his first minutes. Shout out Shay. So, he's going to try to apply some pressure. They're going to get up to the top, and Exeter thought about ripping one. Good inside move and a good bounce shot. Over the net. Here's some action from these benches. Trying to get their teams hyped up as we are halfway through the second with no goals. Exeter now trying to work Oh, what a shot! To the top corner. I thought

he was going to pass that as that was a nasty shot. >> That was That was sick. He >> He's looking the other way, got it top right corner. We'll see on the replay here, but it uh that ball had eyes for that corner. So, I believe that was Shawn Hagg. Number two for Exeter. It's now Merrimack with a four to two deficit. And I'm trying to take advantage as LeBlanc loses it and Exeter's going to have a great chance to score. Steros running in and great save from Tremblay. Big Oh, Big Tasty getting active as LeBlanc gets tossed. He stuck his nose in there though against the bigger kid. Credit to him. LeBlanc, another football player, used to taking those hits. It's now Exeter trying to get another goal to expand their lead to

three. Inside and a good save from Tremblay. And he will take it away. Send one up. Good pass to Charette. Charette now getting pressured. He'll try and keep his stick in front of him. Charette's got some speed. >> Well done. Charette's going to get up to Anderson. Track practice is working. Anderson's going to take a spin. Anderson known for his finesse in his game. He's going to slow it down. He's going to try and work it around as he's getting three separate defenders on him. He's going to get tripped up. Wow. No call. Yeah. I don't know about that one as he is down. Not a good sign. Also a tough kid. >> Oh, on his knee. That knee that got injured recently. Ah. Good sportsmanship from Exeter helping him up. Yep. So, they're going

to take it in their front field. Now they're working it behind the crease as Anderson trying to get his leg That'd be a big hit to this offense. It's now Exeter on the attack. Torres, great defense and pressure. Forcing him back out. So, they're going to take it right back behind the crease. Now, Exeter on the attack and a bounce shot. Good defense from Merrimack. Looks like got a stick in there. Yeah, I think that that shot was altered by the defense. Good spin inside for Exeter, but better defense from Merrimack forcing it out. So, Merrimack defense being a little bit more aggressive now. So, they're going to get it up and Melendy trying to get his hands on that one. So, now Exeter's going to take it back up top with 3:45 remaining in

this first half. Good stutter step for Exeter. Good defense from Buccilato. And we're going to switch sides. Back up top. Good spin move. Lost the ball. Just going to get taken away. As Buccilato takes a spill. Fantastic defense from Merrimack here. Keeping them out of a shot for a long time in the offensive end. Exeter is starting to possess a little bit more than Merrimack in the offensive end. Yeah, I've noticed that, especially the second quarter. Great defense from Torres overpowering. So, now we're down to 3 minutes remaining in this first half. Good move trying to get inside. Good pass and a low shots. Great chemistry there for Exeter. We'll get a replay on that one. Great jumping catch and a down low shots. I don't know enough about lacrosse to speak on who had

a defensive breakdown there, but I can see the fellows on the defense talking about it now with uh with Mason in there. So, that was Tyler Kenny. His first goal of the night is Exeter's goals have been all spread out so far. No one with more than one goal. So, now Exeter's going to come away with this and this is that moment where the momentum could shift. >> Oh, what a save. It's a great save. Quick release for Big Tasty. Got it out right away off of his knee. Yes. So, now Shrette will take it to the front field. Right in the basket, by the way, too, from his knee. Yeah, Tremblay, a fantastic player. He'll be attending Plymouth State next year and will look to be their starting goalie. So, they're the ones who

gave him that nickname of Big Tasty. Fits him so well. Ronan, if I may, I don't know if you watched the game yesterday, but Chris could just not say Big Tasty enough, I don't think. Oh, good pass inside to Gorman. Bounce off the post. Gorman putting his head back. Definitely one he would have wanted to be an inch more inside. Yeah, the look was there. But, they ran a nice nice play and he was wide open. Yeah, great play from Merrimack, just couldn't capitalize as Exeter has ballooned five to two. Yeah. Coach Matt Brewster for Exeter calling a timeout. We're at our second timeout of the half. So, there's 1:38 remaining in this first half with Exeter leading 5 to Merrimack's 2. Well, I'm going to do some reads from the Facebook page right right

around uh Sorry, I got Dan looking at someone out here. I thought he was giving me some sort of signal, but he's looking past me. It's all right. Uh if you want if you want a shout-out, head over to our Facebook page. Merrimack TV on Facebook, facebook.com/merrimacktv right under the post about today's game. Um also, I'll take the time to uh I want to thank the officials for being here, as always. If you think you might want to

officiate or know someone that might want to officiate high school sports, head on over to n h i a a dot org. Always looking for officials, and these games cannot happen without them. So, thank you very much to the officials, and thank you for considering officiating. Doesn't have to be lacrosse, could be any number of high school sports. n h i a a dot org, check it out. And we're getting right back into this with about a minute and a half to go in the half. Yeah, we could use another quick goal here by Merrimack to keep uh get this lead down to two. Yeah, again, that momentum shift. >> Yep. So, Exeter will take it to the front end. Merrimack still with Hickey on the bench. Looks like he's still getting checked out. As

Exeter's going to work it to that back end behind the crease where they have been pretty lethal today and bad pass but Exeter's going to take it back. It's pass inside now behind the crease. He will drop it. Newman will come away with it. Now Newman's going to try and get rid of it. Takes an inside move. He will send it over to Melendy. Good quick two technical plays there by Newman. Who was Hickey's replacement. He's going to try and send it up a little far. Let's see if Lan- I believe that was Landon LeBlanc who tried to get there. Couldn't get there in time. Too far of a pass for Melendy. If he can't get there, not too many people can. I've seen him run the 50-yard dash. Yeah, he's very quick. >> Very

fast. >> One of the fastest track runners for the 200 as well during the winter. I believe he ran a sub-seven this year. I believe he did as well. He runs a sub-24 200 which is pretty unheard of for New Hampshire. Hickey is up and moving around. But now Exeter's going to take it behind the goal. Newman trying to get in pressure. He'll whip one out. Great save for Tremblay getting his foot there. It's a hockey save. >> That is two huge saves in this half. Tremblay reigning defensive player of the year for a reason as he gets batted down in the good shots. That's unlucky as it looked like it bounced off of a stick. >> Very unlucky and it went right almost look what I found into that player's stick for a goal.

It's Tremblay's mad at himself but there's not really much he can do. So it looks like Newman's mad he wasn't there. Yeah, it was Gro- yeah, just very unfortunate. They had a good stick to break up the pass and it just bounced off a lump of the grass and went right to the attacking player at the side of the net. Nice save. See, now Exeter is going to try and scoop it up, but that will take us to halftime. Exeter getting that last-minute goal now leads Merrimack 6 to 2 going into half. What would you like to see out of Merrimack in the second half? A little more offensive possession, um a little more dynamic passing in tight towards the net. Um you know, couple of mismarks on the defensive uh end. Like to see

that get cleared up. I know they've lost a leader on their defense who's currently dealing with an ankle issue. Um and just a little more clean in their passes. I thought there was a few extra turnovers there that might be making a bigger difference in this game. Couldn't agree more. You know what? I'm also going to agree. >> [laughter] >> Um I'm going to get right into uh these uh these shout-outs, or should I say shout-out because it's just one. We've got uh Merrimack TV super fan and Tomahawk super fan and Ronan Brown super fan, Summer Brown. She says, "Tit for tat, Tomahawks. Let's go." This was a little earlier in the game. "Good to hear the world traveler back on the mic." I think that must be Ronan Brown. Ronan Brown on his return

from Greece. My son was a part of that trip as well. >> He was my roommate. He was? He was my roommate. >> even know that. Uh so it's We're going to get into We'll get into that in a second. Summer Brown says, "What a weather day to sit in the stands and be a fan. No snacking today because tacos tonight." >> Tacos tacos Tacos in all caps. I love the enthusiasm for that. Happy Cinco de Mayo to Summer Brown and everyone out there listening. Let us know what you're doing for Cinco de Mayo. Leave us a comment under the post about today's game on our Facebook page at Merrimack TV. Ronan, what did you do in Greece? Anything good? Everything. You did You did it all? Did you see the Colosseum? Is that in

Greece? That's not in Greece. >> [laughter] >> Where is that? >> That's in Rome. Oh, it's in Rome, Italy. Yeah, got you. We got to see the um I You know what? I'm not a world traveler, so We went to all across Greece. We went from end to end to end to end. Nice. We went to Athens for a while. Athens was absolutely beautiful. We went to a bunch of the islands. We took a cruise. I got a bunch of good pictures. I'm very happy about it. Went to Delphi. We saw the Acropolis, which was amazing. >> Sweet. How many nights? Nights in Greece in general? Yeah, well, on the trip. Um I believe it was seven or eight. Yeah, and how many different hotels did you stay in? Oh, let's see. The The The

hotel we stayed in the first night was the same hotel we stayed in the last three nights. We went back to Athens. And then, so I believe five different hotels cuz there was four nights in between there. So, when you're here The The wind is closing the doors for us. Scared me a little earlier. Yeah, you got to hold on to that when you open it cuz it'll wing right out of there. But, uh no, my son was a part of the Greece trip. He came home with a lot of cool little trinkets and some uh some neat thing experiences he had and um he very much enjoyed the trip. Yeah, that sounds excellent. And Ronan, I appreciate you filling us in on that, but don't let us keep you here if you need to

take a quick break before we get back into the half here. Also, don't let me force you out of the box either if you want to hang. Sounds good. >> Okay. >> [laughter] >> If you're enjoying the game, check out more MHS sports action from Merrimack TV on your mobile device or smart TV. It is teacher appreciation night, so we do have a 4:30 start time. But, you might want to tune in a little earlier in case uh in case our teacher appre- appreciation situation starts a little bit earlier than that. So, make sure you tune into those. You can tune in to any number of other, you know, meetings and stuff we got going on on Merrimack TV. Um let's see. What else of note this week? I

did mention I got my time a little bit mixed up. We had started at 6:00 yesterday. I was thinking it was 6:00 today just because the sun stays out so long nowadays. I was thinking Grace was going to be overlapping here with the the planning board, but you can catch that planning board meeting. That started at 6:30 tonight on the government channel on Merrimack TV. That looks to be like a packed agenda. Um as me Chris were saying yesterday, it should be a real humdinger, if you will. Um and I think that'll pretty much do it for for meeting coverage for for this week. Pretty light one. Conservation next week, if you like. School and Building Committee School Planning and Building Committee next week, next Wednesday. And of course, Town Council meeting. That'll be a

good one. And we don't cover this live, but we will have the return of the Town Center Committee next Friday, noon, the Matthew Thornton Room. Feel free to join us there, or you can just catch the replay of that meeting, of course, on the Merrimack TV app. You want to shout out so I'm not just yapping about whatever up here, you can leave a comment under the post about today's game on Merrimack TV on Facebook. Got Summer Brown, Merrimack TV super fan, left us a left us a left us a comment. See if we got anyone else up up here. Karen Anderson says, "Loving your commentary. Our grandson is number 20, Exeter, Alex Kerrigan." Thank you so much, Karen. Really appreciate that. And we've got Donna LaVaque back on the horn here. She says, "Bunch

of Tomahawks fans watching from Palmetto, Florida today. Great-grandparents and great-aunt and uncle cheering on the whole team and a little bit extra for number three, Shea Scott, and extra loud cheers for me. Shea's Oh, sorry. We got some uh Shea's Sorry. And extra loud cheers for me. This is Donna, Shea's Memaw. And yes, indeed, Shea >> [laughter] >> This is confirmed. Shea can bench 300 lb and we've got that that strong bicep emoji, so confirmed from from Donna LaVaque that that Shea can bench that 300 lb that we were talking about earlier. So, appreciate that. We appreciate any shout-outs. You want to let us know what you're doing for Cinco de Mayo, as well. Love to hear it. I don't know if you got some sort of crazy chicken summer salad going on again, but

with like a a Cinco de Mayo twist on it. Let us know. And we're going to get right back into it here. Here's that win. Yeah, here's that win that we were just missing so much. >> Yes. Yeah, this is definitely what we needed here today. Okay, well, let's see if Merrimack can kind of get a little bit more control of this game. It's a quick penalty on Merrimack. Yeah, again, I think a push in the back. Looks like another player getting some medical attention for Merrimack on the sideline. It's Cooper Believe, good bench player for Merrimack. It's Torres is going to get it over to Tremblay. Tremblay's going to take a step up. Send a good pass over to Newman. Tremblay's been really trying to get active on those longer passes. They've been very

accurate and they've been very accurate so far here this entire season. It's Anderson taking some quick hits. Good to see him back and moving. He took a little bit of a stumble. Now he's in the box. They're going to work it to their offensive end and Merrimack, like stated, want to see more offensive time for them. If nothing, one, you know, obviously want to score some goals, but two, give their defense a break. Yeah. Here goes Dineen with that little inside shimmy move that he likes. Send it over to hard pass to Scott. Couldn't get there in time. Now Exeter will take it. I don't know about that one. It looks like it was off of Exeter. Right, but yeah, I sometimes I struggle cuz my son plays college lacrosse now, so I the rules

are slightly different. I understand. College basketball is the same way. So, here goes Exeter trying to take it to the offensive end and Anderson slashing is now Kahn is in defense. In college, if you make a pass and the defense deflects it and it goes out of bounds, it's still the offensive ball. Mhm. I don't think that is the case in high school. Well, that's definitely good to know for future reference. For next year for me. Yes. Exeter's going to dump it off in the middle and try and rip one. Thomas Great save from Tremblay. Uh it's going to get batted out. Exeter's going to try and take it. They're going to scoop scoop it right back up and starting to win the ground ball war, too. Yeah, they're very active on scooping things up

and good low shot. I'd say Tremblay might have deflected that one. So, now Exeter rushing their way in, looking for a shot. Going to take it to their right hand. Good shot off the pole. And it's going to roll violently off the pole. Past the half line. That was a hard shot. >> 50-yard rebound. It's a good look. Going to send it over to Surette. Surette now in the offensive end. One of Merrimack's stronger defenders. He's going to get it to Kahn. Surette's going to get back to his Yeah. playing spot. He's the long stick middie. So, now Got a number here. >> Dine's going to rifle it over to Scott. Rips one inside. Great save for Bernich. That was a hard shot. Once again, a great save for Bernich as Merrimack didn't have too

many shots to end that second half or first half, excuse me, second quarter. Also, a great catch there for Exeter. I don't know if anyone noticed that little toe tap on the sideline. Yeah, for Matthew Willam. Good pass inside, but good defense for Merrimack as Tremblay's going to scoop it up and send a long pass over to Dyne. Dyne, great jumping catch. He's going to let it bounce to Torres who gets sent out of bounds, but well, somehow going to keep it in bounds to Dyne. Is Dyne somehow going to come away with it? Good tight work there by Torres. He's getting pushed out of bounds. Yeah, good smart play. Just bouncing it right over to only a spot where Dyne could get it. >> Yeah, I was going to say he didn't just keep

it in play. He I think he took a look over his shoulder to see where Dyne was and did his best to get it there. It's Kahn tried to get it to Dyne and now Scott's trying to set up an offensive possession for Dyne. Now, Kahn's going to fumble it, but Scott's going to pick it up. Fans getting a little bit rowdy here in Merrimack is looking for a closer game, maybe a little bit of a momentum shift. So, Shay's going to take a quick move inside. Somehow keeps it in his stick. Impressive move on the over the top. Keane Dyne, very skilled at that move. He's going to take an inside move. RIP ONE UP TOP. AND he's got A HAT TRICK. THEY HEARD THAT ONE, that's for sure. Through two defenders on the

shot and a third in pressure. So, what a shot for Shay Scott is that rhymes. And he's got his third goal to match his number. Shay Scott, the anchor of this offense right now. Yeah, he's key player so far today, for sure. He's got player of the game so far. Him or Tremblay. Yeah. Certainly two leaders in the clubhouse. It's Exer going to try and come away with this. It's getting bobbled around. Now, they will scoop it up. It's Exer taking it to the offensive end. They're trying to slow it down now. They're going to work it behind the crease. >> Now here's Exeter. Swift inside move. Like they thought about shooting that, but LeBlanc overpowering that shot a little bit is now trying to make an inside move on Melendy. Hickey holding an ice

pack to that left thigh where he got hit earlier, still on the bench. It's now Exeter trying to loop it around. A good shot, but a good save inside for Tremblay. Hopefully that ice pack on the thigh is a slash and not a hamstring. Yes, hopefully. It's a good shot up side, but another great save for Mason Tremblay. Big Tasty getting active. Good play by Newman to scoop it into the crease for Tasty to distribute. He's going to send it over to Melendy who's going to drop it and get sent out of bounds. Good Good job keeping it in. Gets over to Torres now. >> Flag out. Flag's out. Tremblay's way out of the goal. He's going to send a great bounce pass to LeBlanc. Not sure why the whistle there, but 1 minute penalty.

>> That one actually It's good opportunity for Merrimack. I don't I don't know what this means. >> I don't I'm not sure either. Maybe it was push. Simple as that. Scott taking it to the offensive end and Exeter's got to be focused on Scott now. Right. Well, you know, got a man up situation here, so Let's see what type of offense we can run here to create a good opportunity. Collins can get over to Dineen, back to Kahn, back to Dine. He's going to try and rip one. To the right of the net. Kovalev will take it in from out of bounds. He's going to get it over to Kahn. Kahn, good pass over to Anderson. Anderson's inside moving A LOW SHOT TO THE TOP CORNER. What a shot for Anderson. A riser. Type of

shot that can change a game. Wow. >> Fast shot underhand. What a shot for Shawn Anderson. It looks like that knee is not hurting him too bad no more. Yeah, that was an impressive shot. Low to high, top right corner, right by the goalie. Excellent technique. Fantastic. That's what Shawn Anderson is known for. That little finesse he's got. He loves that behind the back shot. We'll see if we can see that here today. So, Exy's going to try and scoop it away, but good job by LeBlanc batting it up and now it's in the air and LeBlanc's going to come away with it. He's going to take a little spin off the ground, Harlem Globetrotter style. Well done. Now here's Charette into the front field. Rip one low AND A GOAL! TREVOR CHARETTE WITH THE

GOAL! >> [cheering] >> DEPOT MIDI WILL get a replay on that one. Good shot underneath. From right at the line and now it's five to six. Exeters. Merrimack has exploded in this third quarter. And we needed that's the pushback. See if we can continue the momentum of winning ground balls here. I mean, uh, face-offs. Yeah, the face-off discrepancy is definitely what's going to win this game. For either team. It looks like Exy's trying to come away with this one. It's getting bang game batted around. Torres, fantastic job. There it is. Uh, pushing the back. >> [laughter] >> Almost there it is. >> Almost. As now Exy's working into their offensive end. For the first time in a little while. They'll get behind the net. Send it over. Now here's Exeter. Behind the net trying to

make a quick inside move. Great defense by Torres. They try to do the fake over the head pass. Didn't fake out Torres. Torres had a good game. Torres is having a great game. Done a lot of lunch pail type stuff to keep you in the game. >> Oh, what a shot. That's 11. Yeah, that's right. >> That was nasty. Sam Gibney, he's listed as 14 on your roster, but is his name it's he's 11. I talked to the coach before the game and he basically said he's the goal scorer. Good to know. Name to look out for. Sure. He He proved it right there. That was a heck of a shot. That is what Exeter needed. To get out of that scary situation. Let's see if Merrimack has an answer. Got to be wide, baby.

It's fans getting active here as Anderson trying to get there as Exeter's going to scoop it up and >> Come out. Put them out. Good pressure from Gaidish, but it gets bounced right to Gorman. Gorman's going to have a chance. Take it low, but good defense from Exeter knocked it away. Crease. A crease violation against Merrimack. Spernich will now take it for Exeter and he'll send a medium pass. Low catch. It's now Exeter working into their offensive end. Merrimack again without Hickey, their defensive anchor. Other than Big Tasty, of course. Correct. Well, another Not only Hickey's and skill, but he's a ground ball dog. He wins so many >> frame as well. >> Yeah, it's a Looks like Merrimack will get it off of penalty. I think it was an illegal screen, a moving pick,

something of that that sort. It's Tremblay. A little bit low on that long pass, but Oh, he's got numbers here. She's got Dine. Dine's got it over here. >> SHOT RIGHT BETWEEN THE GOALIE. >> [applause] >> WHAT A SHOT from Dine. He's got his first of the night. One of Merrimack's best goal scorers coming alive. A little leap in the air. Very low shot between the legs of Bernich. Fantastic shot on a pretty good goalie. Got the game back to one, within one. So we've got 3:36 remaining in this third quarter. Cuz it seems like we've been going back and forth and back and forth. This one might come down to the wire. It might just may. I feel like there's been as many goals in this quarter as there was the first half. If

not more. There it is, kid. So Torres takes it away, but it gets knocked away by Exeter. Now there's bodies on the ground and LeBlanc trying to pick it up. Now there's more bodies on the ground. Now LeBlanc coming away with it. Gets it knocked away and Exeter being aggressive and LeBlanc's getting rushed around and everyone's on the ground. That's got to be Merrimack's ball. Bring it Finally a foul and Merrimack's going to take it. Thank you. Great job by LeBlanc and Torres on that. >> Fantastic job getting physical. I believe that was a two against four in that situation and somehow Merrimack came away with it. Yeah, he stuck his nose in there and he did not give up. Two football players that love to get physical. It's Cons going to take a little

bit of a stumble. Get it back out to Dine. Merrimack's offense coming alive. It's Dine, great inside move. He's going to rip one top. Pretty good save for Bernich. It's good defense from Exeter. Kahn's going to try and take it away. Now it's up in the air. Yeah, he's going to get a hit. I think we have an injured Exeter player. I do see that. 13 defense. A little bit of a limp on it. His I believe it was right leg. Yeah, ref is just checking on him, but player says "No, thanks. I'm not coming out." It's Chase Barnett. Melendy is on his way to cover Gorman. So now here comes Exeter. They'll take it back out. Send it all the way is Merrimack setting up their defense with Buccilato. The on-ball pressure. Now Torres.

Exeter trying to make an inside move. Now motioning for cuts. See a little head gesture there. Looks like they might be trying to set up a play. Oh, had the pass inside. Smoked the pass. Good defense from Torres to get that one out. So that would have been a great shot on goal for Exeter if that pass was on target. So now Exeter trying to make an inside move and Buccilato in pressure. He's got a big frame as well. Merrimack's got a lot of players with big frames. They can get off their feet quickly. So now here's Sherrod in pressure. Now Melendy. He's going to work up behind the crease. Send it back out up top. Now Torres. Exeter trying to get a shot. They're taking a long time in this offensive end. I don't

think that's any mistake. I think that was part of their game plan. Yeah, maybe trying to wear out the defense, run a few picks and look for the best shot possible. Definitely would be a smart move with a back and forth game like this. As Merrimack has never led in this game. But goal after goal after goal, trading goals is definitely something to look out for. Cuz it is only a one-point game. Exeter trying to make an inside move. Good defense from Torres. They're going to rip one low. A great save for Tremblay. >> [cheering] >> A long ball ahead of Charrette. I'm not sure if that was supposed to go to Kovaliv, but it did. This gets taken away by Exeter in a good inside move and Charrette's going to have some ground to

cover. Yeah, that was kind of a costly turnover after that length. Good pass underneath and a good goal for Exeter's. Defense to offense. A little far of a pass for Tremblay. Looks like he might have rushed it a little bit. Led to the Exeter goal and now the lead has expanded to two. Exeter leading Merrimack 8 to 6. Yeah, that was a rough turnover right there. It's It's too bad cuz they did so well defending for quite some time. Yes, as there are 43 seconds remaining in this third quarter as we might be in for an entertaining fourth. Let's see what Merrimack can do with these last 43 seconds. As they were good in that leak clock situation at the end of the first. Let's see if they can do it again. As Exeter's going

to take it away but take a trip. Now Kahn trying to get there. He'll knock it away. Try and keep it in but good defense from Kahn. Knocks it away and out of bounds off Exeter. All right, 33.3 seconds. Let's grab one here. So here comes the Blank, the speedster. He's going to lose it. Great defense from Exeter. Now Torres trying to get back. Another football player for Merrimack. So there's 17 seconds remaining. Exeter's got to look for another shot here to expand that lead to three, which would tie their biggest lead of the night. They got 10. Now, good defensive pressure from LeBlanc, forcing him out. He's going to try and shoot it. Missed it, no good. And Newman took a fall for the trying to get the closest second, he will get it.

>> He will get it. Great hustle for Newman as they're going to have 3.9 remaining, and they're going to try and send it all the way up the field. So, they get it to Torres, and looks like they're going to wait it out. So, we take it to the fourth. Exeter leading Merrimack 8 to 6. Well, better quarter. Much better quarter for Merrimack. Closed the gap. Fortunately, I think the hurt players that have come out injured are going to stay out. I don't see helmets going back on. So, I think the lineup you had in that third quarter is the one you're going to ride and die with. Well, just a fun fact for you guys, the town of Merrimack's media division is branded Merrimack TV. The division is funded by way of franchise fees

from Comcast Xfinity cable subscribers in Merrimack. Our offices and community TV facility is located at town hall, which is 6 Baboosic Lake Road. Our programs are accessible via the Merrimack TV app, online at merrimacktv.com, and locally on Xfinity channels 6, 8, 22, and HD TV 1072. You're watching Merrimack TV, your community, your voice. And I know they're down a couple players to injuries, but if they got the if this is their ride or die, that third quarter was uh it's a pretty pretty good looking third quarter to me outside of the I mean, they closed that gap, and a lot of quick quick outside shots. So, let's see what they can do going into the fourth year. Keep it interesting. They're going to need to win those face-offs like you guys said earlier. So Yeah,

that just maybe just a couple less just be a little cleaner with the the passing coming out of the zone on the clears. Couple costly turnovers there that directly led to Exeter goals. And in the type of game like this, one goal is going to make a difference. Definitely. But, you know, body language it looks good from Merrimack. Sideline is active. So, Merrimack's got to take some action here in this fourth. If they want to pull this one out. It's Torres. He's going to send it backwards. Look like a snap in football terms to Dineen. So, he's going to rush his way to the front end. No, Merrimack has switched in their offensive players. Cuz they need a few goals and Dineen's going to dump it off to Gorman. Gorman's going to send it over

to Scott who's been their anchor on offense and kind of kick-started that three-goal third quarter span there to get Merrimack within one. So, now Scott's going to rush in and try and shoot one low, but a good save for Bernich. So, Scott's going to recover and take it away. It's all right. Keep that possession. Scott taking his time now. He's going to take it back outside to Anderson. Now, Anderson's going to take an inside juke. He's going to look for a pass, but it gets deflected and it'll roll into the stick of Exeter. A big hit for Dyne to get it knocked away. But now, Exeter's going to come away with it and they're going to have numbers here if they complete that pass that they just sailed. >> Rush him out. Rush him out.

Rush him out. It's good defense from Newman. Yep. Forced. Great defense from Newman. Forced the Exeter player into a hustle play, which I think affected his stick position and he pushed it out of bounds. >> Tremblay's going to fumble a little bit. Now, he's going to send it over to Torres. Bad pass. Right over the head of Torres. He knows it. Pretty good transition D right there. There was a couple of Exeter people looking to drive right down the middle for a wide open pass and Merrimack D sharp to it. Exeter's going to take a little bounce pass. Back up top. Now, Newman in pressure from Merrimack. Exeter's going to set a screen. Now, they're going to work it behind the crease. Now, Kahn takes it away. Good good poke check. Yeah, good defense from

Kahn. It's risky pass there for Scott. Got it to Newman. Now, he's going to get it back to Tremblay. He's going to take it away from the goal. He's going to get it over to Scott. Simple pass is a little check down. Yep. He's going to get it over to Torres. Torres is going to try and take it up field. Not the best stick handler, but showing a little bit of versatility right here. Yep. Get it in the box, guys. All right. It's a hard pass as Dyne's trying to corral it. Now, Merrimack trying to come away with it. It's still on the ground. Now, it gets bounced up in the air and it's getting kicked around now. Exeter's going to take it past the crease. This is Connor Marshall who has subbed in for

Merrimack. And Exeter is going to take it in the middle of the field. Just over 9 minutes remaining and they're going to have a good chance. So Merrimack's going to set up their defense. Exeter's fumbling a pass. Now they get it behind the crease. Now top, Torres is in pressure. He's going to receive a screen. Good switch with LeBlanc forcing him back out. Yep, LeBlanc staying very sturdy in that push. Now good shot inside for Exeter. Tremblay couldn't get there in time. And another great shot underneath. And the Exeter bench is alive as you can hear them screaming. Now it's Alex Kerrigan. That was his second goal of the night. Sorry about that first goal for Exeter. I'm not quite sure who scored that one. Yeah, I missed it as well. Apologies as well. So

he might have a hat-trick. But I'm not sure. Got to be WAY BABY. LET'S GO. Fight for it. As now Exeter has tied their largest lead of the night at three. As Guidish will come away with it. Good offensive pressure as Merrimack's going to try and get some simple offense going. So here's Anderson. Merrimack's going to make some personnel switches. Anderson delaying for the offensive subs. He's got a long stick that's pestering him. So Anderson's going to take an inside move. And now take his time. He's going to send it over to Kahn. Kahn's going to get it over to Dine. Dine takes a little shimmy move inside. Tries to get it and takes a spin outside. Now here's Scott. And Scott's looking for an option. So we're going to get back over to Anderson.

Anderson trying to make an inside move. Thought about ripping one well and now does. Pretty good save for Bernich. He's got that fast low shot that starts low and ends up high. It's like a submarine pitch in baseball. Here comes Exeter on offense trying to get their largest lead of the night. They are leading 9 to 6 with just over 7 minutes remaining in this game. Fake pass over the head and now Exeter's going to work it behind the crease. Time becoming a factor here. Definitely. It just looks like they might try and hold for the absolute best shot possible. If they don't have it, they're not going to shoot it. As I say that as it gets knocked in >> [applause and cheering] >> for Exeter. Unfortunate circumstances. It looked like Merrimack might have

knocked that one in. Yeah, it looked Yeah. Yeah, that ball kind of just squirted and it wasn't shot in. I think a Yeah, it was a flag. But they're going to wave it off because of the goal. Believe that was Sean Hugh. Second of the night. I think they're giving it him the credit. So now Exeter has their biggest lead, 8 to 6 with 6:52 remaining. 10 to 6. 10 to 6, excuse me. There's too many sixes going on there. It was six minutes remaining. It was I knew what you meant. Exeter are now going to send it back up top. Yeah, they're certainly going to take their time. Best shot possible here would be ideal for Exeter. Yeah, I saw the head coach give a signal and it led me to believe just pass

it around. It's Merrimack without Hickey on that defense definitely would have been a big factor. Coming in as there's going to be a penalty against Exeter, so they will lose possession. Moving pick. Good defense from Merrimack. Can't lose this. Now Sherette is going to take a bounce pass and he's taking it in the front field. Good pass inside to Gorman with the goal. And that's that quick offense defense to offense that you need. >> Needed that. Certainly needed that, Ronan. You are correct. It's Gorman's first goal of the night. You could See Sherette's speed there. He knew exactly what he was doing. He knew exactly where the clock was. Heck of a pass by the kid, too. Yeah, and good job scooping it up Yep. >> while running full speed and full stride. Not easy

to do. Now the goal the deficit, excuse me, is down to three. 10 to 7 and Merrimack had those three quick goals in that third quarter. Definitely something they're going to try and do once again as Exeter is just going to come away with a good face-off win for them. Mhm. As they're going to let their subs come in. It looks like they're going to take their time. Just under six remaining in this game. There's their goal scorer. He can move inside Con and defense and a great shot but a great save by Tremblay. Interesting. Thought for sure they'd pass that around but They're going to send a long pass. Tremblay fumbled it and now it's going to be in the air. >> back. No call. Ref has his hand in the air so >>

It's Marshall trying to take it. He's getting hacked. Yeah, he's going to call >> Now finally blow the whistle. Yes, [clears throat] Merrimack possession. Lucky play there as it looks like Tremblay's pass was over the head but ended up getting to Marshall. Yeah, he's a little under confident in his uh distribution in the second half, Mason. Uh First half he was spot on. Might have been the announcers jinx as soon as we started talking about it. Yes, I wish I had that much power. As now Scott looks at the clock and now he's going to know they need some time. They don't really have much. Merrimack's got to look for a goal quickly here. Indeed. As here's Gorman behind the crease. It's just going to get knocked away. Great defense from Exeter to knock that

one away. And they're going to get it up. Now work it back to Bernich who's been fantastic today. He has. He's going to get it back. Now Luke Egan has been subbed in for Merrimack. Another one of the freshman on this varsity team along with Torres and Cole Overlive. Yep, Merrimack's going to get offside flag there. It's Exeter with 4 minutes remaining. If you're offsides, you should just go play defense now. He might not know he's offsides. Definitely could be the case. It's Exeter trying to make a move inside. Looks like they're looking for a shot. It gets bounced out. And it'll roll all the way past the half field line. Official will make the call. Now LeBlanc has checked back in for Merrimack. Yep, they're man down. I think they have to look to

score in this man down situation. So they have 2 seconds to get the penalty. 3:36 remaining. So now here's Exeter in the offensive end. They're going to work it behind the crease. Merrimack trying to man up as best as they can. Playing a player down. Merrimack's got to have a turnover here. If they want to win this game. Quick goal in that last possession. Seeming pretty sweet to them right now. Good pass and Ethan with a good shot. Bounces off Tremblay's leg. >> [applause and cheering] >> Into the goal. That was Alex Kerrigan's third goal. He seemed to be the new goal scorer. For this Exeter team. >> Yes, he may. As this lead is now back to 4, 11 to 7. Yeah, it didn't seem to be their Merrimack's night tonight. I've seen them

play better than this. I think turnovers are definitely Yeah. what's been going wrong. This guy is trying to win this face off. LeBlanc will come away with it. >> [snorts] >> He's got some speed and Merrimack's going to need some speed if they want to win this game. So it's looking a little bit hopeless right now as Kahn has now switched to a deep hole. Now Scott and Dine >> happen here, Dine. Stein looking inside, couldn't get it there. But it will go out of bounds. Merrimack will take it back. So it's like coach Miller also trying to get them to score as quickly as possible as he's trying to get some cuts from the far side. Squirmans going to lose it. It's going to get scooped up by Dine. Rip it. Dine looking inside.

Now he'll get it over to Guidish. Guidish will rip one high and a goal for Reed Guidish. That's what Merrimack needed if they want to stay in this game and Guidish is first goal of the night. Good rip, kid. That was a great shot. Yeah, great awareness from Dine getting pressured in the back. Sends it over to Guidish. Great shot. Right by Burnett who's had some great saves tonight. Got to win this one. Looks like they're going to have Torres take this face off. This is a very important play right here. So Torres is going to knock it back and come away with it. Torres now pressured. Pursued by two. Time out, Merrimack. Good time out. >> Yep. Trying to get some offense going. They need three goals in two minutes. Yep, call up your

best play. See what coach Miller has in the bag for this uh What do they call it? >> [sighs] >> POT play uh PAT play play after time out. Basketball, NBA. No. Is that what they're calling it? I think so. >> Okay. They do actually have an acronym for it. Whether I got it right or not. That's That's what's truly up for debate here. >> Yes. >> [laughter] >> I don't know I'm not even sure what's up for debate. Okay, well Uh we do have more uh MHS lacrosse for you tomorrow. The girls back in action. You want to tune in tomorrow evening. That's at 4:30 p.m. Looks like it's going to be teacher appreciation night. Hollis-Brookline in town. Uh tune in a little earlier in case uh that teacher appreciation night um if there's

any festivities to be had uh might might start a little prior to to that 4:30 um 4:30 face-off time. What do you call a face-off? Face-off? Yeah. Yeah, okay. We don't say basketball. It's tip-off. >> Or start time. Or start time. I'm not Whatever Whatever you want to call it, so. Hollis-Brookline in town. Uh we've got uh let's see. Ronan, I think you're back tomorrow, right? Ronan and Chris on the mic. I'll be myself or Grace will be on camera and myself or Grace will be on replays for that, so. Please join us on Merrimack TV tomorrow evening 4:30. Maybe a little prior for that teacher appreciation night. What teacher do you appreciate, Ronan? All of them. All of Perfect answer. Sounds like someone's getting their diploma this year. >> There's a few a little

bit more than others. >> Okay. But we don't need to say that on the air, I guess. If you The teachers that know, they know. That's what's important. Is Dine knows that he's got to get downhill and score a few goals here. He sure does. We need a quick one here. >> [snorts] >> Cuz a quick one would take it down to the lead down to two for Exeter. Stein looks like he's taking his time, maybe trying to get a play going. Is Coach Miller watching from the sideline. It's now Dine's going to take it out and waste some time. Interesting move here. Looks like they're going to iso mode in basketball terms. This is definitely a play. There's a lot of different cutters out there. >> Dine tried to rip one up top, but

it will bounce to Kahn. Kahn underneath shots. Good rebound, and it looks like Kahn was even confused at what the play was there. As his hands were up, and now Merrimack screaming to get a goal here. As a goal could change this momentum as Gorman, who's had a little bit of trouble holding on to the ball today. He's trying to get it out of his hands as he's getting hacked in the back. He's going to get around. Rip one down low, and a good save for Burnett as Gorman got leveled. Yeah, he He got hit hard. Two flags on the play. Yeah, this might be a 2-minute lock-in. As Gorman got hit really hard on that one after the ball was released. And the whole time he had it. I know, he was getting hit

in the back of the head, and slash 1 minute. All right. I was kind of hoping for two in a lock-in so the rest of the game they'd be down. Gorman, a tough player. Yeah, he's keeled over. He's bent over at the hips right now, but >> Merrimack needs behind the crease to create some shots. Now, with a minute and 25 remaining, Exeter's lead to three. 11 to eight. Merrimack's got to go. As Marshall will send it over to Kahn. Now, over to Scott. Scott's got to think about ripping one. Now, it gets over to Dineen. As we are under a minute and 10. It's here Scott knifing his way through, and he'll lose it. And Exeter's going to come away with it. It's Kahn trying to get his stick there. And it looks like

that might be the final possession for Merrimack's offense. Yeah, Chase Barrett for their defenser, that defensive player for Exeter has played a very good game. Definitely. Seems to be the leader of that line. That flag was thrown 50 yards in the air. Yeah, it was certainly high. Looking like a clipboard on a sideline. As we approach 30 seconds remaining in this game, Exeter trying to body their way through. Newman's getting tangled up. Somehow, Exeter still got it. Now it's on the ground and another flag is thrown. I didn't know they had multiple flags, but I guess they do. They do. They each have two. I think they even have a third. Well, this was definitely a good spot for those two. And looks like we have a uh 2 minutes. Interesting that that one's 2

minutes and Gorman's only one. Yes. Slash >> Seemed like the same play. It's Wyatt Dutton comes in for Merrimack's defense. Getting some varsity minutes as there's 26.8 remaining and Merrimack might take a timeout here. I think it was Exeter, but I'm not sure. I couldn't tell. >> Could have been Exeter. I'm not quite sure. I just saw a timeout. Usually they point points to the side. Didn't do that. Interesting timeout. Well, you can't take them with you, you know. That's what they always say. True. As well might as well use them, I guess. 26 seconds to go here. Uh looks to be just a little bit out of reach for the Tomahawks. Unless uh unless they can drop a a three-point 26-second kind of situation. Thanks for watching today's game on Merrimack TV. If you're

And Ronan, I know you had mentioned there's a couple pretty costly turnovers here for Merrimack and that might have been the the whole difference. Yeah, I think that might have been what's going to bite Merrimack in the butt after this game. Definitely a point that Coach Miller will be pointing out. Well, as they wind the clock down, I just want to give Grace Lemay a shout out. Every time I looked over, the replay was spot-on. Thank you, Grace. It's just like Exeter's

just going to run it out >> behind the crease. Yeah. There's five remaining. Well, a fair result, I guess. I do think Exeter played better. I do agree and the turnovers, like stated, It's not easy for me to say, but we're definitely a factor. As Exeter coming away with another win to boost their win total to seven. Merrimack's record is now six and two. Exeter winning this game 11 to eight. Well, gentlemen, Justin, Ronan, pleasure as always. I shall see uh probably both of you on uh senior night. That's my next gig. Oh, that sounds good. >> fun. Sounds good to me. Uh do we want to do player of the game, Ronan? Oh, yes. Let's do player of the game. >> Let's do it. I'm going to go with Shea Scott. I feel like

he really shifted momentum for Merrimack in that third quarter. Being down a few goals, believe it was three at the time, and then getting [clears throat] that that first one to kind of jump-start uh Charrette's and Anderson's goals to cut that lead down along with a hat trick and some pretty pretty good and nasty plays on that offensive end. I think it's got to go to Shea Scott. All right, absolutely. I could cosign on that take. I will say a little underappreciated or unsung hero of the game was Cash Torres. Oh, definitely. He did the dirty work. >> Dirty work. He pushed and fought very hard on every single uh face-off and ground ball. So, credit to you kid. Great game. Yeah, definitely a bright future for Merrimack. All right. Well, Ronan Brown and Dan

Bergin, thank you both very much for calling today's game. Really appreciate it. Thank John Egan down on the field for keeping track of the keeping track of the the time and the score for us. Thank you to Grace Lemay back at the studio for running those replays, making sure the stream was looking and sounding good.
