001I am going to get our public hearing tonight started. So before we start the school board meeting, we do per policy KCD, we do have a donation that came in over $20,000 which requires us to have a public hearing uh and see if there's any comments on that. The donation we got was in the total of $20,487 and it was from Robert Shapiro and Molina Sulcen who are the parents of Luke Shapiro. Um and I see Miss Morren there. Miss Morton, do you want to just give us a comments? Luke was a staff member who worked at Exit High School, worked in our our um special education department, was really a pillar for students and worked really hard. Um but I don't know if you want to offer any other comments for this board and
002uh part of the donation that's coming. Absolutely. Thank you. >> Hi, I'm Lisa Mo. the director of special education at the high school. And unfortunately in January, one of our parents at only 24 years old um had a tragic seizure um that uh you know, you know, lost to we lost him. He was going to be 25 a couple days ago. Um he was with us for a few years, so it was wonderful. He was an amazing amazing human and he loved our life skills kids. He um really even before he started working for us at such a young age um he was also um an adaptive um adaptive ski coach out west um and he always donated his time and worked with students who had significant needs. So when the Shapiro um had reached
003out to us, they had said that they really wanted to do a donation in in his honor and his name um and give it back to the students that he really really enjoyed. So, um, we were amazed at what was coming in and didn't think we'd be sitting in front of the board saying with this large of a donation. Um, but it's amazing and just a true testament to how much he uh loved being a Blue Hawk and was a great guy. >> Thank you, Miss Morren. So, if there's no other comment, if there's any comment from the public or from the board or questions, um, we'll give it a second to see if anybody comes up to the mic, but if not, then we will close the public hearing. Got a very quick question.
004Is the are the funds restricted in any way? Are they going to be used for >> question? They are directly for special education for equipment uh for u any needs that students have in there. So that was the stipulation behind for that donation. Yep. Thank you, Brian. Okay. So, I am going to close the public hearing at 603. Thank you all. And I'm going to move us into our board meeting. So, I'm going to call the board meeting. >> Did you say you ended public comment? >> Public? Nope. The public hearing. Two different things, George. We'll get to the public comment in a minute. We haven't opened that up yet. >> Cool. So, I'm going to open up the cooperative school board meeting at 6:03 p.m. And my first order of business is to get
005this mic out of my hand. So, I'm going to take a nomination for board chair. Do we have any nominations for board chair? >> Yes, Bill. >> I'd like to nominate Melissa Lions for board chair. Do I have a second? >> Second, Matt. >> Tammy seconds. Okay. Any uh any discussion on on that? Okay. So, I'm going to take a roll call vote. Um Melissa, before I do that, would you accept the the nomination of chair? Okay. Melissa does. >> Okay. Eric, how do you vote? >> Um yes. >> Cameron, welcome. First meeting. How do you vote? >> Yes. >> Amy, >> yes. Erin. >> Yes. >> I I >> Yes. >> All right. Unless I turn this meeting over to you as the new chair. >> Thank you, Chris. >> All right. We're going
006to start with the pledge of >> allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all. All right. So, this will start our public input at 604. Do we have anybody in our audience who would like to provide any public input? >> Anybody else? >> Please just provide your name in the town that you're from. >> Hi. Uh, you're going to have to forgive me. I'm a little passionate about this. As the doctor knows, I'm George Drinkwater. I taught math middle school and high school for 46 years. I negotiated some of the first special ed uh contracts. I negotiated some of the first cooperative uh school uh were unionization and collective bargaining. A long history and
007for several years in Stratum on Route 33 at 275 Portzsworth Avenue. I've driven by that trade school. Finally, I and my friends who are retired, we said, "This is ridiculous." And I have spent a month investigating. I have all that. Some of you should have it. Documentation. Drove into the school, looked it over. What's wrong? Nothing. Soccer fields, field hockey fields, the building is excellent. It's not even graffiti. So, I went to the town hall, got the documentation. 10 years ago, the state of New Hampshire sold the building for 2.75 2.75 million to a private realy company that he has been I have all the documentation, paperwork, etc. He has been paying close to 50,000 a year property tax. It's for sale. There's a sign on it. Excuse me. Says for sale. Okay. The asking
008price. The asking price. You can hear me without it. Public school teacher. $9 million is the asking price. You cannot build that building. It was built 1975. It cost 10 million. And as people have said to me, oh, I hear it's full of mold and that's not wrong. There was a court case three years ago proving it's absolutely ready to be occupied. It's up to standard in every respect. So what I'm here is I want you to at least think about it, investigate it. It's in the school district 16. The state sold it. State in my opinion can buy it back and put it into our system. And I wanted I sat all day outside of Newfields during polling. All day long I had a sign up about the school. Not one person said anything
009negative about trade schools. In fact, they complimented SST over and over again. They voted down some of the new fields money, but they voted for trade schools. It wasn't They said, "It's not on the ballot." I said, "I know it isn't. It should be." So, this is what I'm here for. Please, I talked to the good doctor. Please, let's set up a committee and find out. Let's at least ask, excuse me, Senator Alchiller to ask the state, why don't we buy it? If they if the state can give a private company a mortgage, low interest, they certainly can give SAU16 an no interest loan to buy the property or just say buy it outright and put it into into place. Let's at least investigate how we can finance it. I've been looking into it. There's
010many ways we can go. We can go tuition. We can go uh private corporations. In fact, I have and I have the documentation from the Yaz Foundation, private company down in Massachusetts said if we and he's laughing at me. He said if I can get the state or the school system to buy it, he will make it the top school as far as all the new such things as fiber opted trade school, high school trade school. You already have a fantastic reputation. To give you an example, I get passionate about this. My grandson is graduating from SST this year and his starting salary at Ports Naval Shipyard is 80,000 plus benefits. I'm sorry to say, but I think we are new fields principal doesn't make close to that. And I'd say to my grandson, wow,
011>> George, I'm just going to ask you to wrap up. We usually provide three. I've given you about six. >> If you could just wrap up. >> Yes. >> But what am I entitled to? Am I entitled to 30 minutes? >> No, 3 minutes. And I've given you six. >> Pardon? >> 3 minutes. >> Three minutes. But I gave you six. And I'll give you 30 more seconds. >> I have an objection to that. Are you sure? I'm not. >> I'm sure. >> Nobody can explain anything to you in 3 minutes. Did you look at the documentation? I know. Let me get tell you something. >> And the doctor will tell you, >> you can shut me up, but I'm not going away. You will hear from me again over and over again. You will
012hear about this. Okay? So, I'm not that's not a threat. I'm a passionate school teacher. 46 years I devote myself to teaching kids. And here's the thing. When I get from the state of New Hampshire from UNH, Dr. Matso tells me the students can't do the math to be in a trade school. You said the wrong thing to George Trinkor. I'm on the water department. I'm an elected official. Yeah, sure. I'm a nut, but I am in charge of water. This morning, I got things about cyber security for the water. I'm in charge of $1.4 million. Okay? So, I'm up here shaking. Yes. Because this needs to be done. Please consider it. Somebody call me. I have all the documentation. All I'm asking is you look at it, think about it. And I'll give you
013something else. In New Fields, I was sitting in the New Fields building 20 years ago. I sat there and a person Nancy Kingston said, "I tell you what, we'll give you the land across the street to build a school." The other board members voted it down. Well, guess what? You know what we've got going on in Newfields all and I cannot believe you're allowing a school system to have an unsafe conditions and said, "Well, it got voted down." You do not vote for school safety. That's not a votable issue in my opinion. Thank you for listening to me. >> Thank you, George. Do we have anybody else to provide any public input? >> Okay, we're going to move on to our visitors. We'll start with our middle school. >> All right. Well, due to the
014board change, I think it's obvious that we should do a um full introduction. So, I'm Noah Gelman. I'm a C I'm an eighth grade CMS rep. >> Um I'm Lucy Blackburn and I'm an eighth grade CMS rep as well. >> Um so, in CMS, especially since the last time we've been here, we have a lot going on. So, let's get right to it. For CMS, we have spring sports coming up on April 6th, which is a wide variety of sports that tons of students and athletes are going to be doing throughout the throughout the whole season. Also, currently, we have a wrestling we have wrestling that's going great with nine of our athletes already going to regionals. Um, so this past week, our school had our show Fiddler on the Route on Thursday the 12th,
015Friday the 13th, and Saturday the 14th. Um the turnout was really impressive and lots of people said they really liked um the show. Um before all this, some of the CMS students were able to see um a few scenes from the show during our inschool previews and then some staff members and students were able to see our final dress rehearsal. Um and the performance was great and we hope everyone really enjoyed it. >> This past week we had task madness throughout the school. It's a schoolwide event where everyone goes down to the gymnasium to watch and participate in a series of events of competitive events for teams to compete in challenges to increase team coherence. Um, and then this week we have our spirit week to bring our school community together. Um, we have a
016bunch of fun clothing things going on. So today was obviously St. Patrick's Day, so wear green. Um, yesterday was band day where your favorite band or sports team. We have um town colors. So each town was assigned a color and they'll all wear that tomorrow. Anything but a backpack day and PJ day on Friday. So we're really excited for all those. Um all eighth grade students are ready for high school. Some excited, some nervous, and some in between. Um for current eighth graders who are in algebra 1 and geometry classes, there is SST program pre-engineering that that they can take in 9th grade. This program will teach steam and so much more to students who want to partake. They can sign up online and can also go to the SST pre-engineering field trip on March
01726th to learn more about SST and ask questions along the way. And then we also have a current brand new pickle ball club that we just started. Um it's run by our course teacher, Mr. Fischer, and our guidance counselor, Miss Sloan. Um, it's an inter mural program, so basically anyone that's a beginner in pickle ball and like has no idea what they're doing and people who are like really good at it can join and they can all play together. Um, it's organized by grades, so each grade goes in for like a oneweek slot and practices three times a week and then the next grade goes in and then the next grade. So, they just had their first one yesterday and um from Miss Sloan, who I talked to today, she said it went really good
018and everyone had a lot of fun. >> All right. Well, to wrap things up, we're excited for me next month and excited for the warm weather coming up, but still some eventful months to come. So, we're excited to see them. Have a great day. Good >> job. >> Thank you guys. Lots of stuff going on. >> Yes. >> All right, Bobby. >> From here, >> the fiddler was really good. I mean, I feel bad for anyone who did not get to see it. It was really inspiring. All right, I have a bunch of stuff coming from the high school in this past month. First off, senior Victor Osadski was named one of the top 300 young scientists in the 80 85th Regeneron Science Talent Search, which was really cool. Exit was one of only 206
019schools to earn a student from that search. So, awesome representation for our academics. And then next up, the classical Latin Cammen, which I did freshman year. I did not know they were still doing it. So, that's really awesome. That's a Latin competition and those are really cool. So, students get the chance to show off some of their language skills that they've been working on for the past four years. In academics or in athletics, sorry, and arts state championships for track, the girls indoor track team took the division 1 state championship this year, which is awesome. And Lexi Paterna set a new state record in the 1500 meter. and the girls 4x8 team also secured a state championship and a new state record. Along with that, our unified basketball team won the state championship. So, a
020lot of awesome awesome athletic accomplishments and some more to come in just a few minutes. Um, and then for our music program, over a dozen exit students participated in the inaugural Rockingham Honors Music Festival. Additionally, Jordan Gabis and Shepherd Ross represented EHS at the NHMEA Jazz Allstate Festival. Next up, the EHS drama club was recognized as a best performance at the regional drama festival hosted by the NHETG. This marks the second time in the past three years that they've earned that award. For wrestling, Claire Thurlo and Hudson Berry both placed third respectively in the meet of champions and the DI meet of champions and Reed Grandmason placed fifth in the New England Champions meet. This was just this past weekend at New Balance Track Nationals. Exit did incredibly well setting several state records including the
021fastest New Hampshire girls high school mile of all time set by Lexi Paterna and that mile was also the seventh fastest in the country for the meet. We set an NH record 4x4 time and ninth and 20th place in the sprint medley nationally and finally a fifth place national 4x8. We are incredibly proud of our student athletes and artists and the ways that they contri continue to contribute to our school community. and some upcoming events. On the 28th, we have the multicultural food fair at the EHS cafeteria 11 to 1 PM. And that is hosted by a lot of our clubs, including Roots and Wings. And then on March 30th, we have the EHS choir concert. On April 2nd is the SST induction ceremony. On April 7th, we have our SAT testing day for juniors.
022And on April 10 to 12th is the EHS spring musical. So, lots of fun stuff coming up for the high school. Thank you. That's it. A lot of success from our athletes and uh students in there. Very impressive. Anyone have any any comments or anything? I know I Yeah. >> What's the spring musical? >> The spring musical is Alice by Heart. It's a spin-off of the Alice in Wonderland story set in England during the Blitz. So, it's really interesting. I would recommend going to see it. So, good. >> Excellent. All right. move right on to our uh Oh, you guys are free to go if you would like to. >> Go celebrate St. Patrick's Day. >> Oh, yeah. >> Thank you. >> All right, we'll move on to our approval of minutes. Uh starting with
023our January 15th public. Does anybody have any changes? should be looking for a motion. >> I'll make a motion to accept the minutes. >> Thank you, Bill. >> Second. >> All right. All those in favor. >> And uh opposed abstensions >> and Cam. Yep. Three abstensions. >> All right. Then we have the non-public minutes from January 15th. >> So, I'll make a motion to accept the non-public. >> All right. Thank you. >> Second. Second. All those in favor? Opposed? Abstensions. Same three. All right. Moving on to the January 23rd public minutes. >> I'll make a motion. Okay. >> No. No. And I'll second that. We're time. Yeah. Wait. >> Keep going down. We got We got a few >> backwards. Yeah. >> All right. All those in favor? Opposed? And abstensions? Three. And our last
024one, uh, February 9th, that was our morning meeting. >> I'll make a motion to accept. >> Second. >> Thank you. All those in favor? opposed and abstensions. Same three. All right, that makes it easy. >> Thank you. >> Yep. And moving on to uh superintendent reports. >> Yes. So, we heard a lot of great things about our our student athletes, which is not surprising, but also I want to highlight some our community. Um also with the $20,000 donation from uh Robert Shapiro, Molina Sulcen, we also got a $5,000 uh donation from Deborah Bennick and a $1,000 donation donation from Bay State Strategies Group. uh on behalf of Luke Shapiro that will also go to directly to our students in the special education program for equipment or needs that they have. Uh so I'll look for
025a motion to accept all of those donations in the total of $26,487 if someone on the board would uh be willing to do so. >> I'll make a motion to accept the donations. >> Thank you, Aaron. >> And a second. >> Second. >> Thank you. All those in favor? >> Great. The other donation we got, um, and this will make Bobby happy, is that the, uh, Rockingham Coral Society is donating the coral risers to our music department. So, that is a donation of $4,787.25. This is the full amount to be able to give us new risers for a fantastic coral program that we have here with Miss Ramsey and and what our students do. So, really happy and um I'm asking the board to to make a motion to accept that as well. >> Make
026a motion to accept. >> Okay. Thank you. Second. >> Second. All those in favor. >> Thank you very much. Appreciate that. Oh, everyone will be happy. So, Tanya, you got some money coming your way. Thank you. Yeah. Got it. >> Uh second, um just looking for the we had the two RFPs that have gone out. So the RFP for the the custodial as you know it's been really hard to uh fulfill custodial positions throughout uh the cooperative both at uh the Tuck building where the senior leadership team is located here at the high school and also at CMS um and um uh SST. Uh as you know uh Mr. Sans in the budget talked about how we could keep staff here for most of the day with some staff at night but we'd uh supplement
027um the missing staff through a third party vendor which we've been using uh for the last two years. we formalized the process to try to get a better rate and to get more uh related in that project. So he has secured seven um bids which is really nice to hear. Uh a lot of it is uh locally in the New England area but we did have some outside one from New Jersey and I think one as far south as uh Tennessee. Um so again there are vendors but what we'd ask is to have a board member sit in on the process of interviewing those vendors um so that you have knowledge and can bring that back to the board. So, I'm looking to see if someone's interested in sitting in on that one. And I
028I was looking over there. I think we've got someone. >> We have someone interested. I have experience in my other district for contracted service for facilities and custodial. So, I have some experience on those. >> Perfect. Thank you. >> Thank you. Uh so, Mr. Sans will be in touch with you, Amy, about the timeline uh to interview them and go through the next step so we can vet that out. Uh the second one, uh the facilities RSP has not come back yet. Um but as you know uh back in October, we started talking about in September but October but looking at the facility study at um the the Tuck campus and looking at the footprint that we have that is adjacent and connected to Seo School of Technology. So that um RFP is ready to
029go out. Um we're going to start getting bids in and um you know Mr. Sans would like to have a member from this board sit in when we start to interview the the groups that will look to do the facilities audit of um the current campus that we have and then also you'll be able to walk through what they what they'll do for a final number of what it would cost to make some changes there. Um and so we can have that projected for budgets uh for next year. So looking to see if there's someone interested for that facilities um RFP and walking through the process with Mr. Sans on that. I'm happy to do so, but if somebody else wants to do it, I >> Okay. Yeah. Well, >> I have the time. So,
030>> Okay. >> All right. >> Thank you, Amy. And she's great. She knows the ins and outs of that. So, that's a great great point. >> Can I just ask what does RFP stand for? Just for everybody to know. >> Yeah. Request for proposals. So, we put it out there and what we're looking for and they have to write within a timeline of of how they would meet that proposal and then, you know, what the cost would be. We we give them the total cost, but how they'd meet that. So, it's a pretty in um in-depth process to to get them where they're at. >> Thank you for that question. Uh just wanted to update you. Those of you who took the tour with me at the beginning of the year, we talked about technology
031moving up to the top floor of SST. That move is final. So, they are over there now. So, uh if you'd like to come check it out, uh our staff interly did a great job of the move. Looks fantastic up there. Um and they're fitting in really nicely. Um and I haven't heard any complaints from Dr. car. So, I know that means that the things are going well having technology right there. And part of that is we did talk about how our tech department could actually get into our digital media arts, how they could get into um our computer science program so that they could actually be there working with students uh when when the time permitted. So, just wanted to update you that that move has happened. Um the certified list, I'm going to
032ask that we look at that in non-public just so that we uh can protect, you know, any conversation for the rights of individuals. So, we'll do that non-public and then make a decision when we come out. Um, and then, um, you did get a list of of coaches. Uh, so I would look unless we have any questions about coaches. It's a pretty familiar list of coaches that we've had in the past for our springtime coaches because we're in that lull where we actually have a week with no sports happening, which is very unre. Um, but I would look for a nomination to accept the um, coaching list that was present. >> I had a quick question about that. I was looking at the list and I noticed that the women's tennis coach had a drop
033in salary. It was the only coaching position that had dropped in salary. In fact, some of them went from volunteer last year to now getting paid. >> So that was the one that was open. There was an opening on that particular. >> So any of them any of the the coaching salaries are are on a grid that are are negotiated as part of the co-op. So any of them would be placed where their experience is on that grid. So you can see changes uh and if they go to volunteer to pay, that's where you'll see the difference, Eric. >> Okay. Thanks. >> Yeah. I had one question about it. So So there was a strength and conditioning. >> Mhm. Is that is that like a is that a sport? I don't know if I've seen
034that before. >> It it works with all of our programs. Um so it's dedicated to work integrated. >> Oh, so it's integrated with all >> Yeah, great question. You know, as you know, we have a very nice weight room. Um and you know, our our students, student athletes are taking more and more advantage of that and so to train them to do it properly so they're not getting injured and it meets the needs of the different needs of the different sports is is really uh important. >> Good questions. I just had a question on CMS. Is it just there are no current baseball softball coaches available? >> Sorry. >> I thought you were talking to her or something. >> No, CMS the middle school. I didn't see any anything listed for baseball or softball. >>
035Um, they're on there. I wonder if they were added. >> Yeah, I did notice that, too. Yeah, >> I see. Yeah, I have lacrosse track. We can send a list to the board. It was what we got at the time. So, we didn't have their names at the time. So, I tried to get that to you with what we had. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> I I noticed the same thing about >> All right. Do we have a motion to approve or does anyone have any questions? >> Motion to approve that. >> Thank you. >> Second. Thank you. Neil, all those in favor? >> Thank you. And then the last thing just as uh just want to highlight um today we had instructional rounds over at CMS. You know Drew and his staff did an
036amazing job. So there was six groups of us in teams of two that we go into classrooms for 25 minutes and he gave us a theme of what to look for and so we come out and we do it through an appreciative lens. So to look at the the really good things that are happening in those classrooms then how do you broaden them out so that it becomes a common practice for all the classrooms in there. So um we we started this u you know 10 years ago in SA16 but you know during co it stopped so we've brought it back and we've actually changed kind of the format to make it much more strength-based. Uh and I can't thank Drew and his staff enough for the the work they did and for the number
037of members from both our administrative staff and our senior leadership to really dig into that. So it's a really good day and and it provides a lot of meaning to why we do this work. So thank you Drew and your staff. No, >> it was a great experience. >> Y and that is all I have. So, thank you very much. >> Great. Thank you. >> Uh, I don't have anything for a chair report since we're only a few minutes in here. Um, so we'll move right to finance. Molly, please. >> Okay. Do Oh, yeah. Should we do Yeah, we should do vice chair now. Huh? >> Oh, you can do that when we get to committees because if we want to talk about committee reassignment, so it's >> okay. Yeah, we'll do it with committees.
038That's fine. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Great. Thank you for signing the manifest and the MS-22. Uh, Sue, I see you in the audience. So, I was actually going to email you if you want to come up and sign now. be great. Um, uh, so included in your board, uh, the clerk has its own line there. Uh, included in your board pack is the current year financial. We did not have a meeting last month, so that's why you might see a bigger jump between months than normal. Um, I did list, uh, everything that makes up the change. Did anyone have any questions? Um, and then everything passed, which is great news. So, um, the trust funds will be funded at the end of the year and and I look forward to next year. Did anyone have
039any questions on any of the items? >> Great. Great. Thank you. Budget season's over. >> It starts next week. >> Yeah. More or less. >> Yeah. Get ready, guys. >> All right. We'll move right into our committee reports. Uh, starting with the superintendent evaluation. >> Sure. I'd be happy to uh give a quick update. So, we are uh last couple years we've really refined that process of how we do the evaluations. So, you'll see at the April uh meeting, not our meeting, but the the whole co-op board, Chris will give an update on his evaluation, how it's going. And then shortly after that, we will send out a 360 to uh to select people inside the uh SAU so we can get more feedback. and then us as a board will have a chance to
040comment on uh the evaluation and there'll be a couple of us that sit and and give Chris the feedback about that. So Chris has been very transparent through the process so it makes it a really >> easier uh experience for everybody. So look in April uh so April so really for us April and May will be the time that we're able to give feedback as a board. I'll probably funnel that through myself just because I know the process, but I'll certainly be reaching out and asking for information from all of you. >> Okay. Thank you. Uh policy committee. >> All right. So, um you can see the summaries of the policies that we discussed over the past two months in January and February. Uh beginning on page 31 of tonight's meeting materials. Uh these are
041almost exclusively, in fact, they are exclusively revisions. So, no new programs and the January and February policy committee meetings were relatively short like half hour type meetings really just updating policies to reflect updates in state law or state regulation. Um, no significant discussions that are about them. So, again, you can see the summaries on page 31 and 32. I think there might be another one. Yeah, again they start again on page 45. um for the January or February policies. >> Okay. So, we're looking for a a motion to approve the nine policies. >> The nine revised policies presented. Yeah. >> Motion to approve. >> Thank you. >> Second. >> Thank you. All right. All those in favor? >> All right. >> And then the next policies committee meeting is this Thursday. >> Okay. So be
042a delay between that meeting and our next meeting, but >> all right. And um Tammy SST governing board. >> So we met yesterday. Um and I love SST. They're a very impressive organization. So it always starts out with a student speaker. Yesterday's student speaker is an exit high school senior and um she has done culinary arts and is currently enrolled and going to Johnson and Wales in the fall. So, it's always nice to see what the kids are up to. Um, that we talked about enrollment and the different programs and the level they're at. So, what she explained to us is right now we're at 88% capacity and she had a breakdown of all the different programs electrical with this recent vote passes and um that's already we we're at like what was itundred and
043110% enrollment, but they're counting on over the summer some of the kids will change or back out or whatever. Um, the most popular programs are um so automotive and uh careers in education. No, wait, that's one of the ones that's down. Um, electrical is looks like it's going to be very popular. Digital media arts. Now with the two uh programs that are a little attendance is is or you know enrollment is down are careers and education and computer science. So we discussed way discussed ways that they might want to get more kids involved or you know take a look at that. Is that a program we need if we don't have that much participation? I know we had there's a new computer science teacher. He started drone he's added drones to the mix and some
044other things. So, um, they, let's see, what else did we talk about there? There's a comprehensive needs assessment survey, and we talked about sending that out to parents and students. So, we talked about and voted on that. Um, and I think that's going to happen, right? Yep. different things about um like educational funding accounts and and homeschool enrollment. That's all broken down in the numbers she gave us yesterday and talks about tuition and how that's funded. So, but they look like they're in a strong position and things are going well. >> Excellent. Yeah. Glad to see electrical passing. >> Yeah. >> All right. Uh safety and security task force. We met in January and most of our meeting was saying goodbye to Rich Kane who's retiring um talking about his replacement um and the Alice
045alert alarm drill that went it was our probably best ever attended safety and security meeting because I think everybody wanted to hear the updates um the information that went by. That was a really great um I think sit-down conversation for a lot of the law enforcement that were not on site that day but knew a lot about what was going on that day. It was nice to hear everybody in one room together. Um that's that's the gist of it. >> All right. Thank >> was the Ellis alert. >> Um that's a long story. Um maybe we can have that offline. >> All right. So, while we're here in the committees, um we'll talk about committee assignments for the upcoming year. Um so, we are we're down quite a few committees. So, there I don't think
046everybody will even be on one. Um Amy, I think you've already taken on enough. Um does everyone want to stay on committees that they're on? Is anybody looking to move off of a committee? >> Tammy's very happy she wants to stay. >> Yeah, I like that. >> I'll stay with safety and security. >> Okay. I can come off safety and security if somebody else wants to. >> If someone else wants to come on. Is there anyone interested in doing safety and security meets twice a year during the day? >> Okay. Morning, right? >> Yeah. Morning. >> Is anyone interested in joining that? >> No. Would you be interested? >> Sure. Okay. >> It's fine. >> All right. Great. And Brian, do you want to stay with policy? I'm happy to do so, but if somebody
047I've been on it for a long time, so somebody else really wants to, I'd be happy to step aside, allow them to get the experience. >> Is anybody interested in joining policy? >> They meet monthly. >> Monthly on Thursday nights at six o'clock at the Tuck campus. >> Looks like you get to keep it. >> That's all right. That's fine by me. >> I also do sobatical committee, which I'm happy to stay on. >> Okay. Yep. sabbatical and then I don't think we don't have no contracts this year so there'll be no >> uh administrative >> administrators >> okay >> so we can get towards the end of the year in June yeah >> okay >> and then the superintendent >> eval yeah so I'm happy to stay on that and but if somebody wants
048to join me I say >> we should probably have someone join because yeah because you'll be >> yeah and and the turnover was just great so I think I'm the only one that has continuity maybe that's me and Bobby so I'd like to stay on that But maybe if somebody wants to join me, they >> would Yeah. Would anyone It's a >> And it usually meets about what? Six times a year maybe. >> About Yeah. About six times. Yeah. >> Is anyone interested in joining that? >> All right. >> It It's It's a good committee. >> Bill will get you the information on when they meet. >> I've never been part of it. I've never been part of that side, so I can't really I would say, "Yeah, it's the best one. I could be
049a little biased today that >> All right. And then the last thing we looking for a nomination for vice chair. >> Anyone would like >> Is anybody interested or like would like to make a nomination? >> Well, I'd like if somebody else would like to >> You want to >> I'd like to nominate Amy Amy Ransom for vice chair. >> Oh, >> I will second. All right. All right. All those in favor. >> All right. >> Congratulations, Amy. Will you accept? >> Excellent. >> I first. >> Thank you. >> All right. So, that includes all of our pol all of our committee reports. Uh, and any new business? >> No, I just highlight we did, if you didn't see the um email introducing Steve Cooper, started on Monday. He is our new director of safety
050and security. Steve has been a longtime state uh police officer. Uh lives in the area, lives from in New Market. Um he also worked for Homeland Security where he actually went to all public and charter high school uh charter schools in in New Hampshire and did their safety audits. And most recently he came to us, he was working as their assistant director for safety and security in the Manchester school district. So has a wealth of knowledge. Uh he has been in my office every day and which is amazing. Um and he's really excited to jump on. I know he's his first order of business is to meet with all the police chiefs in our surrounding towns as well as all of our building principles to uh to kind of get a lay of the land.
051So, just wanted to add that piece to it, but that is uh the only new business. I wanted to just make sure everyone had that information tonight. >> What's his um timing like? Is he full-time? >> So, he is we have him 5 days a week. Uh we were able to manipulate the schedule. Um he is 7:30 to 2:30 right now, but that fluctuates based on how we need him. 5 days a week. Uh there will be some time off in the summertime based on hours that we can we can hire him based on our budget that we had because our budget was based on Rich's contract and he can only work 32 hours a week. So we're able to Miss Murray did her magic and thank you Heather in negotiations. So uh but we
052get him 5 days a week. So that's that makes me feel >> much much better. >> Excellent. Yeah, his resume looked great. >> Thank you. >> Good addition. Um any other new business? No. Any old business? >> Okay, we do have uh non-public. We >> do. Yeah. C >> under C. All right. Uh so we're looking for a motion to go into non-public under RSA 91A 32C. >> Brian. Y >> second. Amy, >> I'll do a roll call. >> Yes. >> Yep. >> Yes. >> I Yes. >> All right. I know. like was I can't. back in public session at 6:55 p.m. >> I'd like to make a motion to accept the teacher contracts for the uh 2026 2027 school year. >> Anybody second? >> Second. >> Thank you, Brian. All those in favor? I
053>> Thank you. All right. I make a motion to accept the superintendent's recommendation under for personnel. >> I'll second. >> Thank you. All those in favor? >> Got it. I make a motion to recom to um accept the resignations that were presented to us in private session. Private. >> Thank you, Tammy. Second. >> Second. >> Thank you. All those in favor? >> All right. As long as anyone doesn't have anything else, be looking for a motion to adjurnn. Thank you, Brian. All those in favor? >> Thank you.
