Hi, I'm Ron Q, principal of Sees Central School in Brentwood, New Hampshire. Thank you for taking a few minutes to watch this short video that's going to go over our 2627 school year budget. Um, we're going to talk a little bit about the great things that are happening here at Sees School, some details about our budget, and information how you can come and vote on our budget on Monday, March 2nd. So, next I'd like to send it off to our steam teacher, Lisa Brown, and a few of our students. >> Hello, I'm Lisa Brown, and welcome to our steam lab. So, our students for the past um 3 or four years have been treated to this great opportunity of skateboarding in the gym with our awesome gym teacher or PE teacher, I'm sorry, Deb Thomas.

And this year, we were able to purchase our own skateboards as you can see here. But this year to add to it, we combined steam and PE together. And our fifth graders were asked to put them together and build them. So we had first push syndicate came out and gave us a tutorial and we broke into stations and students were able to build these and probably their favorite part test them afterwards. So here this is Elijah and Zoe and they've come to just tell you a little bit about their experience that they had. >> Hi. My favorite part about this was probably skating and testing it. I thought it would really cool to um be able to ride it and be like, "Wow, we actually made these." Um, my favorite part would probably be like

putting the wheels on and like like screwing them on and then like screwing it back so like the wheels would move and like assembling like and putting the um screws in was kind of hard, but it was also really fun. So, we had a wonderful time. It's always great when we can combine and add two classes together. So, the entire fifth grade class got to participate and our kindergarten to fifth grade students will get to use all of these skateboards this coming March. Hi, we're the Hill family. Sees Central School means so much to our family. >> Hi, I'm Gates and I'm in fourth grade. I love because I learned how to read. I always feel excited in full school. >> Hi, I'm S and I'm in fourth grade. When I think of Sweetie, it

makes me feel so happy. We do so many fun things like hot cocoa stands and breakfast for lunch. Learning isn't always easy. That's why teachers help to make it fun. Hi, I'm Taylor. I'm in seventh grade. I'm not a seway anymore, but I loved it there. Every teacher helped me in so many different ways. Susie is more than a school. Kids learn academics, but also how to treat others, care for the planet, and they grow socially and emotionally. Suesy is a place where every child is known, heard, and truly cared for. >> Brentwood taxpayers are encouraged to attend the annual school district budget meeting on Monday, March 2nd at 6 p.m. in the Sea Central School gym to have their voices heard on next school year's financial priorities. However, as the school district is the legal owner of the grants, the appropriation is being moved to reflect that. providing more information on how we fund our schools. Adequacy funds from the state don't cover full cost. There's definitely an over reliance on local property taxes. 83% of special education costs are local. So in New

Hampshire, state adequacy funding doesn't cover that full cost, especially students with disabilities. As a result, our communities rely heavily on local property tax taxes. A significant portion of special education costs. About 833% is carried locally.
