I want to thank you for being here today to celebrate the seniors and the exit high school's basketball girls basketball program. Now, before we recognize the seniors, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the generous sponsors and donors who have invested in this program and to the boosters especially whose efforts help make this recognition ceremony possible. And these seniors have shown us what it truly means to be a part of a team, to support one another, to lift each other up, and to pursue a common goal with pride and determination. As we recognize our seniors tonight, we celebrate not only their accomplishments on the court, but also their growth as people, their leaders, role models, and ambassadors of school spirit. and they represent the values of teamwork, discipline, respect, and inclusion. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to the Blue Hawk family. And thank you to the friends and family for the support of your student athletes. We're going to warm up for five more minutes and then we'll announce the starting lineups. Why are you so Yeah. Here it is. I think I out of the way. Here comes down. Hallelujah. Welcome. I can't hear each other. Well, testing. One, two, three. Test. There we go. Welcome to Exit High School and tonight's contest with the featuring the Exit High girls team as they take on the Marramac Tomahawks. I'm
Bill Taylor and I'm here with my partner >> Timothy Hollister >> and uh we're expecting a great game here on senior night for the girls basketball team. Exit comes in with a record of nine and four. They're on a 4-ame winning streak and right now they are fifth in division 1. Marramac comes in with a record of three and 10 and they are tied for 17th with Gstown. They lost their last game to Nasha South. Tim, you want to give us some keys to a Bluehawk victory? Yeah. So, you know, it's going to be kind of what we've talked about all season. Their defense has been absolutely elite, suffocating. That's going to be the key to victory today. But also, you know, using their speed, their elite ball movement, you know, and I would just
say bring the ball up a little quicker in the first half of the court. We saw them kind of struggle with some pressure uh last game. So, if they could bring it up quicker to beat the pressure, then slow it down in that back half where by the basket they're trying to score on. That's really it. Just, you know, same old. They know they're a quick team. They can use their speed and they're a great defensive team. >> Okay, the exit starting lineup. Number 10, Lexi Rogers. 22, Emma Gillis. 24, Jessica Melik, and 25, Nicole Melik. and 33 Emma Hayes. Marramax starting lineup Kira Lord number two, Sydney Lamontine number 12, Megan McCarthy number 15, >> Avery Cruz number 21, and Sophia Krooks number 32. Why the D Early so proudly we at the twilight
stripes and bright stars through the sky We watch and the rockets red our flag there. Oh s that stars mangled away for the land of the free. Another fantastic national anthem from an exor student. It is. It's always great when they can do it live. >> Yeah. >> Well, we're on a little early today because of the inclement weather that's scheduled to come in. Uh supposed to be here anytime between 4 and 6. When I arrived, it hadn't started snowing yet. >> Yeah, same here. >> So, hopefully it will hold off. I wouldn't mind if it holds off until after the game, but we'll see what happens. Yep. Uh just one thing I quickly want to add is it is senior night for the extra girls team. So obviously we'll be the team is going
to have an extra kind of factor to this game. They want to win for their seniors and their you know high school uh basketball career as a good, you know, with a good victory, memorable senior night and even, you know, maybe a state championship later this season. >> Yeah. And uh sometimes some different things happen on senior night. A lot of uh nerves and things like that. So we'll see what happens. >> Marramac has the ball and that's their go-to scorer number 15, Megan M. McCarthy. >> Yeah, she's eighth in division one for points per game with 15.5. And she's only a sophomore. Okay, rebound by >> Nicole Melik >> and the Blue Hawks turn it over up up the court. >> This is the first time we're seeing Emma Gills this season. I think
a lot of that is uh senior night. She obviously has a knee brace on. Looks like she's playing through an injury. >> Avery Cruz with the offensive rebound and basket. Blue Hawks come out, man. >> Oh, nice job from uh Melik there. Get the steal. >> Good hands. Nice reverse. Reverse layup. And Marramac turns it right over. >> Jessica Melik with the jump shot off the steel. >> You're already starting to see that suffocating defense. >> Looks like Emmy Kayes is guarding uh >> nice block with the block. Good rebound inside by Nicole Melik. >> Yeah, you can see early there they're trying to get Emma Gillis that bucket. We'll see how long she stays in. Maybe they give her a rest. Um it's got to really be tough to play through that knee injury.
Two foul shots for Nicole Melik. >> And number 14, Maya Denine comes into the game. Two foul shots by >> Nicole Melik. >> Oh, good hand by Melik. >> Saved a basket by that deflection. >> You know, last game it was Jessica Melik. Looks like tonight we're already going to start to see a Nicole Melik game. The Twins have been absolutely great this year. Megan McCarthy >> gets loose on the inbounds out of bounds play. >> Nice defense here from Exiter. >> Emmy K is one of the better defense players on the team. >> Good steal. Good. Oh, good board there. >> This is kind of an X to their game already. It's low scoring. It's kind of a defensive game. We're starting to see Marramck go a couple more boards than we saw from
uh Trinity last game, but we'll see how that changes throughout the game. >> Ava Camarada in the game for the Blue Hawks. >> Good look, good passing Jessica Melik. >> Nice ball movement there. Good cut from the from Melik and great pass from Rogers. >> Blue Hawks in there. 221 pressure. >> Foul is on Maya Denine with a reach. >> Blue Hawks number 14. >> Okay, the Blue Hawks are in a two-3 zone here on the out of bounds. >> Oh, nice. >> Megan McCarthy. Marramac in a zone also right now. >> Nice screen from Kay's there. >> We're definitely starting to see Marramax's physicality and the rebounds definitely come into play here. Nice hands. >> Oh, >> good rebound by Jessica Melik. >> Kind of took the ball away from Avery Cruz. >> Yeah,
that's a lot of what we saw against Trinity was just Jessica Malik just able to kind of impose her will on the rebounds. and Jessica Melik in for her sister Nicole. >> 86 is the score. Timeout on the floor. 3 minutes and 51 seconds to go in this opening quarter. Kind of been a a slow game right now and we need some something to get the crowd into it here. Yeah, you're starting to you're definitely starting to see that you're always starting to feel that extra defense that doesn't even allow 45 points per game. And they're more than willing to just kind of let this be a, you know, a jab match. Just jab after jab, very slow. And you know, we whatever you got to do to win the game, right? But you definitely
like to maybe get a steal here, go on a little run, get the crowd into it, make it even harder for Marramck to score some points. Okay, the Blue Hawks come out in man. >> Oh, great hand. >> Fouls on Lexi Rogers. >> Oh, I thought that was clean. >> Calder for the reach. >> Exit already. Their hands have been amazing this game. They've caused steals, uh, loose balls. Good block out by Nicole Melik. >> Lexi Rogers. >> Nice way to find that ball after that pass. >> Blue Hawks come out man again. And they double team McCarthy. McCarthy looks like she wants to uh do a lot of dribbling. Yeah, >> nice drive. >> Nice pass inside, but you got to finish Nicole Miller. >> She's already up to six points. The She has
been the source of offense for Accident. >> Blue Hawks playing man. We're starting to hear the crowd kind of get into it now after a quick run from exit. >> Number three is in the game. That's Natalia Magio. >> And turnover on the inbounds. Really good coverage there from uh Denine. Sheen. Yes. >> Yeah. She blocked every single path to that ball for that's number 32 Crooks. She's only a freshman. Marramck's a very young team. >> Number 20 May Atley is in the game. >> Lexi Rogers for three. just absolutely swished it. That thing didn't even touch the rim. >> Tough foul. >> Foul on the numbers. >> Fouls on Emmy K's. Blue Hawks in a two-3 zone. Good, good play by Nicole Melik. >> Tied up Avery Cruz inside. >> Just great job using
the strength there from Melik and just ripping it basically out. Obviously is a jump ball, but still goes Xer's way. >> Oh, three for Nicole Miller. >> She's up to nine already. She might be in double digits by the time this quarter ends. >> Timeout, Tomahawks. Now, here's something I've noticed. The Tomahawks are turning the ball over. >> They They're getting their hands on the ball, but what they're doing is they're keeping the ball down at their waist. >> Yeah. >> And that's allowing the hands to reach in and either tie it up or steal it. >> And you know what? I think that was almost a point of emphasis in the film room for this exor girls team because you see almost every single time a player on Marramck has the ball, there's an
exit their player reaching their hand in poking at that ball. We've seen plenty of loose balls and it's even turned into a couple of steals and turnovers for exer. So yeah, I think that was a seems like a point of emphasis in the film room for these girls and they did a great job of they're doing a great job right now of executing on that. They are. And you know, 18-6, we we had a little spurt here. >> 10-point streak, a 10-point run. And you know, the the crowd, you could hear the crowd start to get into it. And, you know, good time out there by Marramac. We'll see how they adjust. If I was them, I you know, I would be I'd like to see him passing the ball more. on Marramax coach just
moving that ball around and not necessarily just kind of sitting in one spot with the ball almost dare. They're almost daring extra reach in and you know I think if they just have some more ball movement maybe they can lower those turnovers. >> I see Emmy Kay's is really focused in on McCarthy. Yeah, >> now it's uh Nicole Malik on her, but they almost are completely shutting her down right now. >> Oh, >> her first. And I see uh number 20 Okay. >> You know, you can see why Megan McCarthy is a top 10 scorer in division one. She just she has a great ability to drive to a basket. And whether it's just getting a shot up or it's, you know, getting a foul and getting a high percent shot, she does a great
job. And as a sophomore, that's huge to see. Marramac bringing the ball up. Number 32. That's Sopia Crooks with the ball right now. >> Oh wow. That's >> bad fouls. That's a bad foul. They're shooting. >> Yeah, they're in the bonus now. >> Yeah, you don't want to commit a foul that far away from the basket >> on an inbounds. I mean, you just don't. >> McCarthy at the line. I I'll be interested to see how this exit uh team tries to continue this success in uh the second quarter. What kind of adjustments Marramac tries to make after this first quarter. Oh, good >> rebound by Jessica Melik. Basket >> just come out did a great job just getting the rebound, putting it back up. She found the girl open in the corner. Nice block,
but obviously the girl in corner just couldn't hit the shot. Great job getting the rebound, putting it up for two. Oh, >> nice euro step there. >> Good. You know, >> I noticed >> that we can push the ball up the floor against this team. Yeah, >> they're slow on transition. >> Transition is moving from defense to offense or offense to defense. >> Yeah. And um I think that's they're Exo is willing to push the pace this game and not necessarily I think they like their matchups on the inside and they just want to get there as quick as possible. Normally see them kind of take a slower approach in that uh front half of the court, but you know, it's working so far. See right there, Eva Camaretta was just poking at that ball.
They get out again. >> A double dribble. >> Think she wanted the pass there and kind of double thought it with the trailing defender. End of the first quarter 21. >> That's the end of the first quarter. 218. >> The Blue Hawks went on a huge run >> outscoring Marramac. Uh I think it's 13-2. >> Yeah, 13-2 after that. It was eight to six and then we had 10 we had uh 10 straight points and then 13-2 with the only points given up being a free being free throws. So you know this extra team it they've been so dominant since the kind of that middle part of the season they went on that fivegame win streak their longest one the season. They have an opportunity to match it with this game. um have two separate
fivegame win streaks in one. It's a wide open. A lot of that help is from you know Lexi Rogers who was named C Co Coast athlete of the week last week along with her fellow exert um student Jackson McDonald and you know obviously the Melo Twins play a huge role but overall this is just one of the best team teams that we've seen perform day in and day out. They just as their teamwork, their defense, you know, it they truly embody the aspect I talked about in the Pinkerton game of five beats one every time, >> right? >> And they've proven that time and time again this season. >> Oh. I like the vision there from Megan McCarthy. Just a little too high on the pass. >> It's tough when Emmy Cage is guarding you.
It's tough to get that ball off. >> Nice pass. Nice rebound there from uh McCarthy. >> Almost again. Ex almost had another steal there. Just great job using their hands. Oh, >> what a block. >> Just a little too high on that pass. >> See, whatever. Melik is guarding Cruz knows that she's going to fake left and then just shoot it with the right hand. >> Oh. Yeah, Cruz is second on uh Marramac for points per game with 10. So, >> Exer's goal is clearly to just shut down these two uh McCarthy and Marramac and make the other girls kind of step up, do their uh try and win this game for Marramck. The difference with Xer is Xer, it can be anyone's night no matter what. Obviously, they have the three top 25 scorers
and Rogers and the Melik Twins, but it doesn't just have to be them. Emmy K's can turn on one night. Atley can turn on one night. We've seen it all this season. >> Elise Leinsky is in the game for Marramck. >> Blue Hawks have Let's see what they >> They're running a two-3 zone. They're getting to their spots. The milk twins especially, they like shooting the mid-range and then Lexi Rogers likes going inside. They're getting to their spots. It's just some of the shots are not falling. But it's only a matter of time before these shots are falling at a higher percentage, especially if Marramck continues to let them get to those spots. Blue Hawks were just in a 221 fullcourt pressure. >> They're back to their man. >> You know, one thing I'm seeing
from Marramck is it's it's not even just like they're just holding the ball the waist. They're not moving it at all. They're not having any sort of like moving it around trying to get away from the defender. they kind of just hold it in that one spot stag stagnant until the defense pokes it out or makes them move it, you know, and I just think that that's how Exer is creating so many turnovers >> once again in the 221 pressure, >> man. Wow. Just a great showing of just overall strength from Exer here. They've ripped that ball out a countless amount of times. Marramck definitely playing better defense in the second quarter. They're kind of they're doing a lot better job of hustling and doubling the ball. >> Staying extra ball. Ah, >> ex's getting
open. It's just the shots are not falling right now. >> Good anticipation. >> Cruz back in the game. Coach Ball would be happy with the ball hawking of this exo defense. No pun intended. >> But man, every time there's a pass, they're getting a hand on the ball. They're making no catch easy. Oh, >> another block from one of the Meliks. >> Yeah, that was Jessica Melik again. >> She had a few last game, too. Okay. >> Marramac comes out in a man. >> Whoa. The screen just knocked the girl. No communication. They got to They got to let that girl know that she's being screened. Yeah, that it looked like I thought maybe uh she was trying to sell a little bit of uh foul there. I I didn't see her fully run into
it, but yeah, there's got to be a little bit more communication on Marramax's defense right now. >> Lexi Rogers at the line shooting two. She makes a first. >> We're almost halfway through the second quarter. Not a lot of points being scored in the second quarter. 23-8 right now. >> In fact, those were the first points of the second quarter. >> Good double. >> And I said it in the first quarter. Extra is more than willing to kind of have a game like this now. They're in the in control. They're not worried about scoring the most points or, you know, this and that. They're just worried about winning the game. And if they're going to do that through the defensive side of the ball and a lot of that is just stopping the team from
scoring. >> Good anticipation Nicole Melik >> and she is in double digits in the first half. 11 points first player in double digits. >> She anticipated that crosscourt pass and went coast to coast. >> Extra's on another seven-point run. Good rebound. >> Nice pass. >> See, now they're beating they're beating Marramck down the floor. >> Yeah, >> Lexi Rogers. >> She's up to nine points. Great pump fake there, too, to make that layup even easier or that close shot. Second foul on Emmy K's. >> Yeah, you're going to see kind of a lot of fouls like that. I feel like when you're playing a defense expert playing today, they're really poking at that ball. You just put yourself in a position for the ref to blow a whistle, but they are doing it so cleanly.
They're getting minimal minimal fouls right now. You know, each foul is kind of a close call. Oh, >> another >> bullet pass right there. >> Another turnover here from Marramac. It's really just, you know, Xer's defense is causing a lot of these making nothing easy. Oh, nice pass. Nice ball movement there from Maxer. Just couldn't get the shot to go. >> Yep. Manto man. It's a travel. >> Oh, they call that Marmac ball. I thought that was >> Yeah, but that should have been a travel. She dribbled in and fell down. There's no pivot foot there when you fall. >> This X-ray defense has held teams to 22 points twice this season. So, Marramac doing good job getting some points on the board there and stopping a >> crime. But Man, >> that's going to
stay Marmarmac ball, but great physicality here. We're seeing >> All right, Blue Hawks in a one, two. I think it's supposed to be a >> and Marramac turns it over. That's been about the story I feel like of this first half is just exit minimizing their turnovers, limiting them, and then taking advantage of Marramax. >> Nice screen there. >> Good job controlling that rebound. run. >> Oh, wow. I don't know if I saw it travel there. That was a good good ball movement from Exit. Uh I guess you know >> Jessica just kind of moved that pivot foe a little bit too much. >> Leah Kim is in the game. Freshman Good job, Exer dominating the boards again tonight. Um, just a lot of them have been jump balls though. A lot of them have
been, you know, just change of possession. 38 seconds. 2710. >> Bluehawks in the lead. Oh, good defense here from Emmy K's. You know, I'll be I'll be interested to see what kind of adjustments we see from even exit at uh going into the second half just to see how they can improve cuz I think they played a pretty good first half. Um maybe they can, you know, limit some of the turnovers by just slowing it down, but honestly, they're not even turning the ball over that much. They're just playing great overall game. force one there too. >> Nice try by Lexi Rogers. Got shot off. >> Well, that's the end of the first half with the score. The Exit Bluehawks 27, the Marramac Tomahawks 10. I think part of your fan club just arrived, uh,
Tim. >> Yeah. Uh, coworker. Yep. So, asked me what I was doing. I guess it's not obvious, but >> No, she thought maybe you were auditioning to be a pilot. >> Uh, but yeah. No. Um, >> man, if I'm I'm Marramac, I I'm head to the locker room. I'm going to try and think through some game plans here to get back in this game. It's not definitely not out of reach. It's only 17 points, but you know, exit again, they're not going to look to score 80 on you like Bedford Knight or Bishop Girtton. They're just going to look to win the game. And, you know, this second half, I think we're going to see honestly a little bit of a slower game from Maxer. See them kind of wind down that clock and just,
you know, walk home with their fifth straight victory. >> Yeah, I agree. I agree. Well, we're going to uh >> take the headsets off and we'll be back for the start of the second half. Hallelujah. I like that. and all our friends here in the Mirmax school system. Um, shout out to Grace back in the studio who she has got her hands full tonight. So, I saw that schedule. >> She was trying to uh do some replays. I believe uh the budget committee >> started at 6:00 p.m. So, if you want to check that out, that'll be available tomorrow or you can switch over for the duration of this half. You can don't have to listen to me much longer. Flip it over, see what they got going on over there. I believe they are
trying to move their It's a It's a public hearing tonight if I'm not mistaken. So, >> you got the uh girls game tonight as well. >> Girls game on channel 22. >> Yes, that's right. So, girls game channel 22. So, >> from exit. >> Um also uh down in the uh memorial room, we will have the town council looking to um looking to talk about the the union contracts that they're >> excellent >> that have gone uh talked about and discussed and they're trying to believe move those forward to the public hearing. So that's at 7 pm if you're uh if you're interested in that. Uh really exciting stuff. You can also vote on that um come April 14th this year. Second Tuesday of April. It's a it's a late second Tuesday this year. And
of course I did want to mention that the polling places have changed. We have two polling places this time instead of three. So, make sure you check that out before voting day so you can get that all sorted out and you're in the right spot when you are trying to vote. >> Oh, Summer Brown coming in clutch. >> No way. >> With a pie. >> Wow. >> For us. Look at this. I'll tell you what >> that I love that >> cookies. Oh my I mean you I I don't turn down meals. Brian's at a loss for words. >> Especially free meals. This this is outstanding. >> Absolutely. >> But uh yeah, hey, >> big big shout out to Summer Brown, Marramac Tomahawk super fan, Marramac TV super fan. >> I also want to um
mention I just met Donna Blanchard Levik. >> Oh, >> are one of our big fans down here. Zack Rete's grandma. >> Really? >> Uh from Florida. She came up uh came over to say hi and thanks to Marramac TV for um you know bringing the broadcast to Florida. So, uh, absolutely. So happy got a chance to meet her tonight. So, uh, shout out to Donna and, uh, I said, nobody appreciates a me like >> Brian Gagn. So, you know, >> you heard it here first, folks. If you two want to uh have a bite, I can uh shut the mics off over there and I can for about four minutes right now. >> I'm actually good for now. >> You're good for now. >> I was actually I was actually going to see what you
guys' favorite kind of pizza is. Like, I'm talking toppings. I'm not talking Deep dish. I mean, you could say deep dish. >> Okay. You're looking for top. >> You got to give me specifics. You got to give me specifics. >> Uh, wait. My specific is pretty boring. >> It's actually I I got a couple go. >> If you're telling me cheese right now, extra cheese, Brian, is that what you're going to tell me right now? >> Cheese. >> It's cheese. >> Standard cheese pizza. I mean, it's it's the go-to. Like I I I forget where I I heard this once. Maybe a TV show, but if your cheese pizza is good, your standard cheese pizza, everything else is good. >> Yes. I I agree with that. >> I I I think a good cheese pizza
is hard to come by. >> Um I really I hate to say, you know, it really is going to depend on my mood for the most part. I can I am always down for I feel like the next standard up from that is pepperoni. I mean, I got I got to go pepperoni um almost any day of the week. Um if I'm feeling a little fancy, maybe uh buffalo chicken. Um, and I I'd say 99 out of 100 times I would not have bacon on pizza, but there is this one place in town that I love the bacon pizza for some reason. >> Um, and that is always just a little extra treat when I'm when I'm feeling that. So, uh, Ronan, what what do you get up your sleeve as far as your favorite
topping? I know you're you must be thinking something crazy right now. >> Now, I will say some some barbecue chicken styles pizza. >> Oh, man. >> When you're in the mood for it can hit. >> Yep. I totally agree. And the >> both of them. >> I think I agree. I think some maybe some chicken bacon ranch on a good day. Wow. You have to be in the mood. You have to be in the mood. >> Yep. >> 100%. >> I think classic cheese is always typically my go-to. Okay. >> Classic cheese or barbecue. Now, I want to get you guys' take on Hawaiian pizza. >> Got to got to got to throw it in. >> I'm lukewarm on it. >> Okay. >> I I have no real >> You don't love it, you don't
hate it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Um I would I've had Hawaiian pizza. I will eat Hawaiian pizza. I will not order Hawaiian pizza. That's kind of where I'm at. >> Um there's no reason for me to go out of my way to get Hawaiian pizza, but sometimes, you know, you'll get a slice that looks real good and you want that little extra sweetness there. >> And we're back on the air. And don't forget, the next game will be Friday as the Exit Boys take on Manchester Memorial at 6:30. >> That'll be a good game. Yeah, >> that'll be a good game. Last year was a really fun game to go to in Manchester. Close game. It's going to be It's going to be a fun one. >> And you know, Tim, you you'll be
bringing your aame on that one. >> Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. >> But we always bring our aame here. Well, the Blue Hawks with a commanding 27-10 lead. Hopefully that next game I have a little bit of a bigger fan club show. I have my own little student section. >> Okay. And it is Marramac Bald to start the second half. >> If I was Marramac in this second half, would I I'd be looking to just kind of The one thing is they don't move that much off ball and just I don't know. I I would like to see him passing the ball a little bit more, not making it harder for Exer kind of, you know, hit that ball and poke at it. It need be a little bit more active and less static. >> Foul
is on Emmy K's as she fouled her from behind. That's her third, I believe. >> Yep. >> McCarthy at the line makes the first. She's got eight. >> And you know, eight out of 12. >> Well, you know, right now, Marramac has kind of lulled us to sleep. We've got to execute. The ball game isn't over. >> Yeah. They Exo's got to kind of work to get get some energy in here and just play their game. Make sure this game is completely out of reach. >> There you go. Jessica Mel. >> Jessica Mel. >> She's got nine. >> Blue Hawks in a one 122 press. Good steel. >> Good. Oh, Nicole Melik. >> 122 pressure. One-two punch from the Twins. >> Good block. >> The Blue Hawks push it up in transition. >> Whoa. You
know what I really like to see there is uh Melik Nicole Melik, sorry, could have seen or could have shot a three-pointer, but she decided not to rush the shot, give a little fake, and then drive inside to a more high percentage shot. Obviously, she got fouled on her way there, but >> okay. Marramck in the zone. >> Good pass. Oh. Nice. >> Nice job, >> Jessica Melik. >> She joins her sister in the double digits. >> Nice steal. >> Nice steel. See, they're forcing. >> You force Marramac into an uptempo transition game, they're going to turn the ball over. >> Yeah, we're seeing Exer is just doing a great job of really getting Marramac uncomfortable and making them play up to Exer. And Exer, as we know, they're such a fast team, it's so
difficult to stick with them. >> Okay, Marramac in a man. Uh >> with the hole >> I thought they were going to call that on Lexi Rogers just with the way we've seen some of these officials. The first thing I saw was the push off, but I guess you know Krooks was kind of grabbing her. Nice hustle play there. >> Emmy K's, >> man. Exer is just relentless. >> 33-2. 5 minutes and 30 seconds in to go in the third quarter. >> They're doing that that you know >> that's oh over back. >> I think they've kind of noticed that when you almost blitz the ball carrier for Marramac, they tend to go backwards. And so you saw right there, they blitzed her right that half court line and she immediately went take step back
over and back. >> Oh, nice fake. Oh, >> man. Exo is just dominating the boards in these past two games. >> Holy mackerel. >> H just >> they just missed a bunch of layups. >> Yeah, just couple opportunities there. Oh, another block from Melik >> Jessica that time. I think that's her third of the game. >> Ava Camarada into the game for the Blue Hawks. Yeah, you can start see XR take a little bit of a slower pace bringing the ball up the court. >> Ah, not quite. >> You know, the Mouth Twins do a great job of using their height to be good pass catchers when their teammates get in trouble. They kind of stick their arms up real high and any pass that's above the defender, they almost always come down with. They
got great vertical and just great length. >> Another block there. >> Avery Cruz stuck with it. Reverse layup. Good. >> Nice move. 15 seconds. Cruz shooting one. >> Has anyone scored for Marramck besides Cruz and McCarthy? >> I can give you that right now. I believe no. Just those two. >> I didn't think so. Nicole Melik beat her player baseline on her third. >> Three fouls on Cruz for Marramac. They come out in a two-3. >> Oh, Lexi Rogers >> travel. Yep. And Lexi Rogers is in double digits as well. Exit now has three players in double digits. Another 11 points for Exit from one player. >> Ah. 1211 pressure for the Blue Hawks. >> Yeah, this this X-R team, we've done a great job in that front half of the court causing another turn
over there. >> Oh. man just dominating the boards right now. >> I like the drive there from Emmy K. She did a great job driving, getting a high percentage shot. Couldn't quite get it to go. >> Anglio. >> Oh, they're in the bonus with three minutes to go. >> Shooting two. First one's good by Nicole Melik. >> She's having her fourth free throw shot of the night. I don't want to jinx her or anything, but she's four for four. Didn't want her to missing it beyond me, you know. She actually matches Marrammac with 15 points >> and a steal there. >> You know what? They're still in the pressure. They're ahead by 22. >> Oh, nice pass. Another timeout. >> Okay. Well, >> a little bit of a higher scoring quarter here than the second
uh second quarter only eight total points were scored but >> by both teams. >> Yeah, by both teams. >> Wow. >> Uh we didn't have our first basket till about 5 minutes in but you know Exard's already got 10 this quarter. Uh Marramax got five, so it's one of their higher higher scoring quarters, but it's o overall's kind of been extra all the way through. You know, um Marramac, they've, you know, they've shown hustle and they've shown some good things. You know, it's a young team. They've got a lot of sophomores, a lot of juniors and freshman. You know, obviously the only senior being Avery Cruz. So, you know, if you continue to work at it, they can definitely continue to improve. And this season, you just got to look to get better every game.
I mean, that's what Exer did from an 0 and2 start. They're now, you know, >> you know what you do >> looking like a top team. >> If you're Marramac, >> you break the game down to shorter periods of time and you say, "Let's win the next two minutes." >> Yep. >> Forget the Forget the score that's on the scoreboard. you want to win the next two minutes. >> And you know, we kind of saw that with Trinity once Exer started running away with it. Trinity kind of became, you know, let's get let's focus on this part in this part. They actually had a run because of it. >> Lexi Rogers. >> Rogers. >> 13 for her. >> Uh they're going to blitz blitz the ball. And then transition. >> Nice pass. >> Emmy Kay's
was fouled. Good pass. >> Fouls on the >> That's her third. That is her third. her first points of the game. >> She does a lot of other good things. >> Yeah, she's she's a lot more of just overall. She's not going to fill up the stat sheet with points. She's going to fill up the stat sheet with the other things with assists, rebounds. You always see her hustling in for steals and she plays great defense. She really shuts down the other team's top scorer. Hey, >> nice driver. >> Three straight three straight points from her. Seven straight from the Hawks. >> Good hands. Let's see if Marramck can close out this half with some momentum tick into the fourth. Nice close out. That's uh number 20 Atwood. Great close out there. Stand. >> Blue
Hawks being very patient right now. Yeah, and that's what I wanted to see from Marramck in that first quarter of the game. >> Jessica Melik, >> you know, that's what I want to see from Marramck in the first half was just a little bit more patience. Exer doing a great job of that here. And, you know, I kind of talked about as well is they're going to kind of slow this game down. They understand the lead that they have. They're just kind of trying to withhold it. And, you know, they're doing a great job of that. Nice pass. >> Double dribble. >> Oh, carry. >> Okay, 27 seconds to go. 4415. Nice pass. >> Good. Good job there from Jessica Mau to not get a foul there. Get those hands in. Stop the layup. Force
the ball out. And no reaching. Uh, ref kind of got in the way there a little bit. hit the >> 44-5 Bluehawks with the lead. >> Well, 17-point quarter from Exit there. you know, that one quarter they just they did a great job of, you know, kind of just capitalizing off of turnovers and forcing turnovers. Um, but yeah, man, they that second quarter they kind of I think they start out a little flat. They were, you know, wasn't really as popping of a first quarter as they normally have. You know, sometimes they come out to these fast starts. It's a little bit more of a defensive game. Uh, and so I think that second core they were a little flat. >> The big thing is for Exit is they've missed a lot of inside shots
that they normally should make, >> high percentage shots, and you don't want to fall into that habit. >> No, >> we were talking about against Treny, they were doing a great job driving inside, getting those open shots and making them. You know, tonight just a little bit of a different story. I'm sure that we won't see much more of that, but to think that they had 17 points in that quarter and had a couple of missed shots that they normally would make, man, they Marramck got a little lucky with that. But Marramck, you know, they had a they had a better quarter than they have had probably all game. They did a good job of, you know, moving the ball a lot more and not allowing Exer to get a lot of those poke outs.
Marramac in man. >> Nice pass. >> You know, if I was coaching Marramac, I would be in a zone >> and say, "Beat me from the perimeter." >> Yeah. Not from inside. >> Yeah, I think that the issue also Oh, nice shot. >> Um, the issue also comes with >> with Xer speed. >> She had a little euro on that one. But you see Xer speed right now with just transition defense forcing another turnover. But they're just a tough team to match up against, especially if you play a lot of man. >> Jessica Mel >> and she also is at 15 now. Her sister's at 17. Combined 32 points from the senior twins on senior night. >> That doesn't even count all the blocks they've had, steals. Nice block again. That time that's Nicole Mill.
I think that's her second of the game. >> Oh, good steal by McCarthy. >> Oh, a little behind the back, too. Ah. Denine gets right back with a block. >> Oh man, just Exer just when you think Marramck has a little bit of uh momentum, Xer just shuts it right down. Just like we saw with Trinity, you know, just when the team starts to think they're getting back into and matching the energy of Exer, they just Exer shuts it down. Oh. >> Oh. Touchdown pass right there. >> Oh, >> Jessica Melik. She ties her sister for uh game leading uh game leading score was 17. >> Now I do not have her on the stat sheet. >> No, but that was I think that was the first points by someone other than Cruz and McCarthy.
>> You are exactly correct. That is a first points in a while in general for Marramax. Extraers played great defense right now and um man that was just a great kind of run there from Exer is another 11-point double digit run and it might have even been 13 but man just Exer again it's another game I have it written down here in my notes. Exer's coming off a wire-to-wire dominant win against Trinity. having another wire-to-wire domination. Uh maybe not exactly wire towire. Um you know, Marramck jumped out to a 2.0 uh 200 lead but you know just another almost complete game >> uh of leading for exit and they've just I'm not sure what happened after that 0 and2 start if they just kind of you know flipped the switch if they you know that
Portsouth game they said to me you know the team said to me that they found something in that game and they could not be more right I mean to have the kind of season they've been having after that start. Man, I I think it also didn't help that they were playing two of the top teams. So, you know, kind of tough way to start the season, but they have just been phenomenal ever since then. >> Oh, yeah. Exit starting to slow it down here. uh 5 seconds. >> Well, she hadn't used a dribble. >> Yeah, I think they were looking kind of just pass the ball around, waste some time. I I think she's worried about losing it, giving them some momentum and giving them a quick transition bucket. But >> oh Fouled. >> That's
four. >> Oo, >> her fourth. And she, you know, losing her would be extremely rough for this Marrammac team. You know, the second leading scoreer, second leading scoreer in this game. Oh. Nice pass. >> Oh, Chase. >> Emma Chase. Two baskets. >> She's got five straight points. A look on that too. >> And Cruz just fouled out. >> Fouls on number 21 Avery Cruz. That's her fifth. 5219. Less than two minutes to go in the basketball game. >> The Blue Hawks are working. >> Oh, she stepped out. working hard to get uh Leia Kim >> some points. >> Yeah, if I if I have anything to say about X-ray, I I don't know how Emma Gillis's knee is. Obviously, it's tough to put through that seeing that. I would like to see her get in,
try and get her some buckets, you know, just it's it's senior night. She's obviously got that injury and, you know, we'll we'll see how it goes. But man, this is a a just a great showing from Exader. I can't say it enough. Back-to-back games. I feel like I'm repeating myself in the fourth quarter just how dominant of a performance this has been for Exit. Coming down to the last minute. >> You got to think of your player of the game. >> Whoop. Sorry. Zoned out a little bit there on >> I I'm going to have two for the Blue Hawks. >> Yeah. Ava Camarada with a basket, >> you know. Um, it's going to be a little little difficult. Oh, I think that's her fifth block of the game. Uh, Jessica Mil is Man, she's
had she's had a game. I don't really know if I can think of one for uh for Marramac right now. I'm I'm kind of filing through, you know, I'm kind of picking between, you know, Megan McCarthy. >> That's the final score. 5419. >> You know, I think uh Megan McCarthy will be my I mean, she was just all their offense in the first quarter. She came out quick. Um, obviously it didn't go her way tonight, but you know, for Exit, I mean, I think I'm going to go with I mean, I'm going to go with the Melik Twins, the two seniors on senior night. Both put up 17 points. They had almost identical games where they both had multiple blocks. You know, Jessica Melik had I think five if my headcount is correct, but man,
just a they almost had as many points as, you know, Marramax single-handedly and combined they outscoring Marramax. So, >> you know, I I great minds think alike. Yeah. >> Because I had my exit player of the game were the two Meliks, Nicole and Jessica. They got us off to a good start. Yeah. >> They dominated the game inside. Uh, and I agree with you for Marramac. I will say this about McCarthy. She didn't have a high score as her as high a scoring game as she usually does, but it's very difficult for one player. >> Yeah. >> To have to bring the ball down, to have to make sure that you get it in some kind of offense to pass the ball and then to score at the same time. >> Yeah. And it it's
extremely difficult cuz the defense will hone in on you. I mean, we saw it tonight. They were doubling. They were playing their best defenders on her trying to take her out of the game. She still managed to put up, you know, eight points and that's that's great. But, um, man, it's just it's tough. It's tough. And as Marramac improves, you know, and she's only a sophomore. Again, I've said this a couple times tonight. >> Future's bright for her. Future is extremely bright. and exit just man they just they have Coach Rogers does a great job game planning right now. >> Yep, I agree. You know, good win for the Blue Hawks 5419. Uh next game for us is Friday night against the boys will be in town and they play Manchester Memorial. And Eric, do
we have an update on the boys game right now? >> 47 to 40 with Marramac with the lead. Well, good luck to the Exit boys. To finish that off, we want to thank everybody for tuning in. This is Bill Taylor >> and Tim Hollister >> and we will see you on Friday.
